Xzibit & Layzie Bone Assess Rap’s Current Landscape: “Everything Sounds The Same”

The Black Jewish Entertainment Alliance hosted a panel at the Recording Academy in Santa Monica, California on Thursday night (September 14). Moderated by culture critic Justin Hunte, the panel featured We Working and the Lobel Music Group CEO Steve Lobel, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony MC Layzie Bone, Loud Records’ Steve Rifkind, Xzibit and Blood of Abraham’s Mazik. The spirited conversation was intended to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop—which it did. Hunte began the panel by asking each participant about the moment they fell in love with the culture.

For Xzibit, it was an act of defiance as a kid. His parents were adamantly against rap, which only intensified his desire to do it. For Lobel, it was hearing the Sugarhill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight” at a rollerskating rink in New York City; same with Layzie Bone, who discovered the song in 1984. Rifkind, meanwhile, was intrigued by The Fatback Band’s “King Tim III” in 1979. Naturally, the discussion splintered off into several directions throughout the event, but there seemed to be at least one common theme: the mainstream rap landscape needs an overhaul. At one point, a young woman asked each panelist their opinions on female rappers.

“When we were crushing it, Lady of Rage was the only reference point that we have for female West Coast MCs,” Xzibit said. “There is room for different female rap. I think the shock value and the sexualized way that females are presenting Hip-Hop right now is like one note. We’ve heard that note, we’ve seen it. I’m not saying anything’s wrong with it because we talked about all kinds of s### in our records. But you have an opportunity to do something really different and stand out. It may feel like you trying to move a mountain, but when you move that mountain, it’s gonna feel a lot better because we shift the whole energy of the of the conversation, so that’s what I’m saying. Dare to be different.”

Layzie Bone stood up and offered his own advice, saying, “As a lady, be a lady. Like, I’m not even impressed with these b###### on the internet. Have respect for yourself and you will make the world respect you.”

The discussion continued to wander through each participants’ respective careers but kept returning to where Hip-Hop stands as a culture. With the focus so heavily on the “50th,” the topic has been on the tip of everyone’s tongues. The overall consensus was painfully clear—something needs to change.

As Xzibit so eloquently stated, “Everything sounds the same. Listen, there’s two factors that I believe are stifling music. Because Hip-Hop is so huge and it made so many people so much money, they think anybody can do it. For example, if you go and say, ‘I love football,’ but you won’t take your ass down there, suit up and get on the field when it’s time, you won’t do that. Everyone feels that Hip-Hop is so accessible that anybody can do it. It’s become a mockery of itself. That’s one.

“Number two, I think it’s become too accessible. Back in the day, there was a time that you had to go into somebody’s office and get an investment into your career. Now, if you have a laptop and WiFi, you can be an artist, which just crowds the whole lane. You’re doing yourself a disservice by participating in that.”

Layzie Bone chimed in with, “It just f##### the whole game up,” to which Xzibit said, “First of all, we should have unionized. We should have had some kind of union and a board and organized ourself. Right now, 50 years later, we still don’t own s###. Until we own it, until we control it, until we have a say on who gets to f###ng call themselves this and call themselves that like everybody else, it’s going to continue to spiral out of control. That’s why we aren’t on Billboard because nobody is in the pilot seat, guiding us where we’re supposed to go. We went to thousand to millions to billions—this is a billion-dollar industry—but until we take the focus and clean up our own backyard, then it’s not going to have the same respect that it’s garnered in the past.”

Layzie Bone (appropriately) stressed the importance of “harmony.” He said, “Teamwork makes the dream work. You do right by the people you love, stuff like that will rule everything. I’m trying to be on some family sh#t. If you ain’t harmonizing with each other, it’s just a bunch of noise in this muthafucka, and me and X gonna go do what we do any g####### way.”

Police Say 350Heem Was Killed By Daughter Protecting Her Mom During Fight

No one will be charged for the murder of 350Heem or the shooting of a 48-year-old woman named Regina Orr.

Six weeks after the rising star lost his life in a parking lot shoot-out outside of the Jade Fox Lounge, Lakeland Police say while they have solved the crime. And the person who fatally shot the recording artist will not be charged with murder.

The rapper was at an album release party hosted by his brother, former NBA player Dwayne Bacon, on July 28.

Orr and 350Heem’s mom, Kennie Crawford, got into an argument “due to the defendant and victim Orr not paying to enter the Jade Fox lounge.”

Orr and her daughter Jamilah Johnson left but came back to the party with more people. They finally paid to get in, even though the party was almost over.

At one point, according to authorities, Orr and Johnson approached Crawford, and then Orr punched her in the face, sparking a “large fight” that spilled out from the club to the parking lot.

Police say 350Heem  “raised a firearm and shot the 48-year-old female victim [Orr],” seconds prior to being shot by [Orr’s daughter] Jamilah Johnson, according to LKLD Now.

LPD Officer Joshua Collins was present at the altercation and said he saw Johnson shoot the Motown recording artist. LPD spokeswoman Stephanie Kerr said Johnson shot 350Heem twice with a stolen. .40 caliber Glock model 27 handgun based on bullets from the incident.

The State Attorney’s Office  “did not support the criminal charge of homicide against Johnson,” as she was trying to defend her mom.

“He advised that she started shooting into the crowd. He stated he exited his vehicle and gave chase and during the chase he observed the defendant throw a firearm towards the back of the vehicle. He stated once the defendant discarded the firearm, she stopped and surrendered without further incident,” said an affidavit regarding the arrest.

The 9mm gun used to shoot him down has not been recovered. The police believe someone took the weapon from the vehicle at the scene of the crime.

AllHipHop.com interviewed 350Heem after he was signed.

What Really Happened With Jeannie Mai’s And Jeezy’s Divorce?

“I loved Black guys. For me, dark meat on the side, white keeps me mean and lean. That’s why married a white. That’s what I like.” -Jennie Mai

After just two years of marriage, rapper Young Jeezy (Jay Wayne Jenkins) and TV host Jeannie Mai have filed for divorce. While their split has been widely covered in the media, a closer look at their relationship reveals a complex web of reasons behind their decision to part ways.

Growing Apart: Different Lives, Different Worlds?

One significant factor contributing to the breakdown of their marriage appears to be their vastly different lifestyles. Jeannie Mai, a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, resides in Los Angeles, where she’s deeply immersed in the Hollywood scene. On the other hand, Jeezy, known for his low-key nature, resides in Atlanta, focusing primarily on his business ventures and occasional tours. This geographical separation led to them living two distinct lives, running in different social circles, and having diverse sets of friends and cultural backgrounds.

It’s essential to acknowledge that both Jeezy and Jeannie seemed to have entered the marriage with motives beyond pure love and commitment. Jeezy MAY have been attracted to the temporary publicity and the aesthetic appeal that Jeannie brought to his life. Their interracial relationship could have been a factor, and he might not have been fully prepared for the responsibilities of marriage. This is clearly an assumption.

Jeannie, too, had her reasons. She found financial security in Jeezy, especially after her tenure on “The Real” ended. Additionally, she saw in Jeezy an opportunity to break into the world of urban entertainment, further boosting her career. Moreover, it’s worth mentioning that Jeannie had expressed a preference for marrying outside of her race in the past, which she eventually fulfilled with her marriage to Jeezy. Personally, I did not like her demeanor related to him.

Another contributing factor to their separation could be their communication issues. Jeannie openly discussed her fiery temper during her time with Jeezy, citing that he challenged her to work on herself in ways her previous partner had not. While she attempted to change her behavior, it’s unclear how successful these efforts were in the long run. Jeezy also has a history of relationship drama and legal issues, hinting at potential communication challenges between the couple.

Jeannie Mai’s previous marriage to Freddie Harteis, a non-famous individual, ended after ten years. During this marriage, she made controversial comments about preferring white men, which caused a stir. Her subsequent marriage to Jeezy, a wealthy and famous Black rapper, seemed to align more with her preferences and career ambitions. Hmmmmmm….

In the end, the divorce of Jeezy and Jeannie Mai is a complex and multi-faceted story. It ended so fast, we have to speculate. Something clearly went very, very wrong. It appears that their different lifestyles, motives for entering the marriage, communication issues, and past experiences all played a part in their decision to part ways. While the details of their separation remain private, it serves as a reminder that the dynamics of celebrity relationships often involve more than meets the eye, revealing the complexities of love and fame in the spotlight.

Tyrese Wants All The Smoke With DJ Envy As Fight Over DJ’s Wife Heats Up

The saga between Tyrese and DJ Envy over The Breakfast Club host’s wife is apparently nowhere near ending. Tyrese recently visited the Hot 97 show and was confronted by DJ Envy about being inappropriate and flirting with his wife, Gia Casey. Tyrese denied the allegations and took to his social media to defend himself in a 22-minute video.

The “Transformer” movie star posted the video on his Instagram, intent on clearing his name. He claimed he never sent text messages “directly to Envy or directly to his wife” where he disrespected either of them.

“I literally just had to pull up some receipts and I had to go and look in my phone and say, ‘When is the last time we were actually communicating, and does anything about our communication feel like I actually disrespected his wife or him?’ ” Tyrese said. “Because whether I was on psych meds or not, you’re not describing me as a man. That was the most hurtful thing ever.”

DJ Envy doubled down on his position and invited his wife to his show, where the two of them discussed why they fell out with the “Sweet Lady” singer.

Tyrese then answered Evny and Gia’s latest version of what happened in a four-part Instagram series.

“Since we out here tryna go ‘viral’ threatening live on the air let’s unpack this all……. However way you/yall respond I’m done done….. Have fun!!” he said. “Milk it into ratings and more blogs.

“What I’m NEVER gonna do until I take my last breath is let anyone question my integrity, attack my character and be out here reckless on some random f##k s##t….. I would strongly suggest you tread lightly…. I don’t do cease-and-desist letters. I don’t deal with lawyers I don’t snitch…. I don’t gaslight I wanna f### up and I’ll make a mistake. Police Probe Possible Links Between Sexyy Red, Syko Bob Shootings; Another South Florida Rapper Shot

South Florida is currently grappling with a surge in violence that seems intricately linked to the local rap scene after separate shootings killed a man near a Sexyy Red video shoot, another that killed Syko Bob’s mom, and a fatal shooting involving an unidentified local rapper.

The area witnessed a series of shootings in just two days, with local rap artists being a common factor in these tragic events.

Authorities are now meticulously investigating to unearth any potential connections between these distressing incidents that have left the communities in shock and mourning.

The recent wave of violence includes a shooting near the Oakland Park Flea Market, where rapper Sexyy Red was filming a music video.

A sudden eruption of gunfire at a nearby gas station led to one individual losing his life and another severely injured, necessitating immediate hospitalization.

Sexyy Red, who was present at the video shoot, vehemently denied any connection between the shooting and her video through a series of Instagram stories.

Sexyy Red emphasized that the incident occurred across the street from her set and urged people not to manipulate the narrative surrounding the event. Despite her clarifications, detectives are not ruling out potential links between the video shoot and the tragic shooting.

Adding to the grim series of events, Dorothy Smart, the mother of rapper Syko Bob, became a victim during the wave of violence. She was brutally ambushed and killed in her driveway in Fort Lauderdale, a scene that bore the marks of a targeted attack.

The current circumstances have brought Syko Bob, who is serving a prison sentence for weapons possession charges, back into the limelight.

A parallel incident in Miami Gardens mirrored the violent patterns observed in the other cases.

Witnesses recounted a scene where two assailants ambushed and killed a man, who is believed to be another local rap artist after he picked up food at a local shopping center.

Police have yet to release the victim’s identity as of press time.

Diddy & Yung Miami Share Details About Their Relationship On “Love Radio”

Sean “Diddy” Combs let loose his latest body of work on September 15. To celebrate the release of The Love Album: Off The Grid, the Hip-Hop mogul presented a three-hour live broadcast.

The first episode of Diddy’s Love Radio aired on Apple Music 1. At one point, the Love Records founder sat down with his romantic partner, Yung Miami of City Girls. They shared a few details about their relationship.

Yung Miami recalled the two rappers traveling to Love Island for her birthday. Diddy then said, “I have an island. This is just for inspirational motivation. You don’t know a lot of Black men that come from the hood that got an island.”

Diddy Brings Up The Time Yung Miami Made “Papi Proud”

Later, the “Act Bad” collaborators discussed going “off the grid” which was described as spending time with your significant other without access to phones. Miami asked Diddy to name his favorite thing when he is off the grid.

“Just locked into your body when I feel like I’m all up in your chest and your soul,” answered Diddy. When questioned about his favorite moment being off the grid with Yung Miami he responded, “When we went to the Bahamas. We went – it was 48 hours straight. You did not Buenos Noches that night. You made a Papi proud.”

Diddy Says His New Project Is “The R&B Album To F### To”

The MTV VMA Global Icon Award winner also connected being off the grid to the creation of his The Love Album: Off the Grid studio LP. The 23-track project features Busta Rhymes, Summer Walker, French Montana, The Weeknd, 21 Savage, Justin Bieber, K-Ci, Mary J. Blige, Burna Boy, Babyface, John Legend, H.E.R., and more.

“It is definitely a lot of lovemaking. I think some albums need to be made for that. I purposely made this album as this is the R&B album to f### to. And I may sound a little harsh to people, but this is from a single perspective,” stated Diddy.

Deion Sanders Reveals How Much Money Colorado Made After Buffalo’s Huskers Win

Y’all better give Deion Sanders his theme music because he’s without a doubt delivering as promised for the University of Colorado’s NCAA football team.

For the non-believers out there, because DJ Khaled told me y’all are always waiting in the wings, here’s concrete proof the “Sanders Effect” is hard at work. Last year CU’s Buffaloes ended the season with a wildly underwhelming 1-11 record. Since Sanders took over the squad, they are already 2-0—pinning L’s on major AP-ranked D1 programs, including Texas Christian University (TCU) and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Bro literally told y’all, “We comin.”

Now, Sanders has told Million Dollars Worth Of Game hosts Gillie Da King and Wallo the true magnitude of the effect his winning ways have on the entire state of Colorado. While remarking on a viral video of students lining up to purchase tickets to the game this weekend against their in-state rivals Colorado State, Sanders revealed the insane bag the team’s win over the Huskers brought in.

“They say the city made $18 million last weekend,” Sanders said, scoffing. Wallo also remarked that all of the hotels for the weekend throughout the city of Boulder where the school is located are booked out. To make the situation even funnier, the head coach of Colorado State University, a 0-1 team, threw shade at Sanders for wearing his hat and sunglasses during post-game media interviews.

Check out the full video below and stay tuned for this weekend, when I predict Coach Prime and the CU Buffs will drop five dimes on Colorado State’s headtop.

Ludacris & Lil Rell Howery Set To Become The Next Big Disney+ Stars?

Whenever Ludacris isn’t on the set of one of the latest big-screen iterations of the billion-dollar Fast & Furious franchise, he’s apparently making holiday films with Lil Rell Howery.

That’s right—just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday stretch, Luda and Lil Rell have teamed up to release the original film Dashing Through The Snow via Disney+. The feel-good family movie captures the journey of an Atlanta-based social worker, portrayed by Ludacris, and his estranged daughter. The transformative Christmas-themed storyline follows Luda’s character Eddie Garrick as he takes his nine-year-old daughter to work with him on Christmas Eve—per the request of his wife whom he’s separated from.

The plot takes on sort of a classic twist of the “Ghost of Christmas Past, Present and Future” once Eddie and Charlotte’s character cross paths with Lil Rell—whose character dons a red velvet suit and assumes the role of “Nick.” While there isn’t an official trailer out at the moment, fans will be able to stream the film on Disney+ on November 17.

Check out the first-look images of the film below.

SZA’s Manager Punch Calls Out MTV VMAs For Snub & “Slap In The Face” Response

SZA’s manager Terrence “Punch” Henderson chastised the MTV Video Music Awards for failing to nominate her for Artist of the Year. The Top Dawg Entertainment executive complained about the snub in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

“Obviously, she had one of the best years, if not the best year, of any artist at this point,” Punch said. “I don’t see why she wouldn’t be nominated for artist of the year. It just really didn’t make any sense to me. It’s disrespectful.”

Punch revealed he privately confronted MTV but never received an explanation for SZA’s snub. He claimed MTV officials refused to discuss the matter.

“And they ended up saying, ‘OK, well we could do another call’ because there were people on [the call] about logistics for the show who didn’t have anything to do with [the nominations],” he said. “When we tried to set up the second call, they didn’t want to discuss artist of the year, which to me was really a slap in the face,”

SZA was in talks to perform at the 2023 MTV VMAs, but Punch pulled her out of the show due to the snub. Punch took full responsibility for her absence in case she faced any backlash from MTV.

“I figured, why go perform and do this if she’s not going to be respected to the highest level?” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “So, it was my call to actually pull out of the performance.”

SZA did not attend the 2023 MTV VMAs, which were held in New Jersey on Tuesday (September 12). She won the award for Best R&B Video at this year’s event.

Sexyy Red Reacts To Deadly Shooting Near Her Video Set: “Don’t Try To Twist Narratives”

Sexyy Red did not want anyone to blame her for a deadly shooting, which occurred near her video set in Florida on Thursday night (September 14). The up-and-coming rapper clarified what happened in a series of Instagram Stories posts.

“I send my condolences to the family of the man who lost his life and prayers up for the person who was wounded,” Sexyy Red wrote. “But I gotta address the rumors that it happened at my video shoot bc s### is not true, at all. To be clear it happened at a gas station across the street from my video set. Florida Highway Patrol and Broward County Sheriff confirmed that the shooting wasn’t on my set.”

Two people were shot near the Oakland Park Flea Market where Sexyy Red was filming a music video. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was hospitalized.

Sexyy Red insisted the shooting had nothing to do with her filming a music video. Detectives are investigating to see if there was any connection.

“I’m just trying to work hard, make good music, connect with my fans,” she wrote. “Please don’t try to twist narratives and put this on a b####.”

According to Sexyy Redd, her team obtained all the proper paperwork and worked with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office to have off-duty officers on the set. She said everyone involved in the video was unharmed.

Drake Gifts Fan Return Flight To Japan

Drake is giving back. During his Dallas tour stop at the American Airlines Center, a fan held up a sign that said he flew all the way from Japan to Texas just to see the “Hotline Bling” star.

“You came here from Japan for the show?” he said during Thursday’s (September 14) show. “You know what … we flyin’ you home first class back to Japan. We love y’all. I’ve never been to Japan, but you came to me. So that’s love. That’s what life is about. You got to show love.”

The fan was traveling with a companion and social media said both of them will go back home in style.

“There was a couple that flew to my show from Japan,” a fan shared. “Drake saw their sign and is flying them home first class. He said he’s never been to Japan and it meant a lot that they spent their hard earned money to fly across the world for him.”

Diddy Receives Key To The City From Self-Proclaimed “Bad Boy Of Politics” Eric Adams

New York City Mayor Eric Adams presented a key to the city to Diddy at a ceremony in Times Square on Friday (September 15). The event coincided with the release of The Love Album: Off The Grid, the Bad Boy Records founder’s first studio album since 2006’s Press Play.

“The bad boy of entertainment is getting the key to the city from the bad boy of politics,” Mayor Adams said.

Diddy thanked his hometown for honoring him with a key to the city. He celebrated by riding around Times Square, shouting at pedestrians while hanging outside of the window of his vehicle.

“Ayo, New York – we f###### did it!” Diddy said in a clip posted on his social media accounts. “Harlem, we did it … The key to the city. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I’m coming to the Garden with this s### and then I’m gonna be in Brooklyn this Sunday. I’m not playing with you, New York.”

Diddy added, “I’m gonna give you this love. It’s a love rampage! Yeah, New York, we outside, outside, outside. And tonight, we acting bad, bad. It’s f###### Friday. The album’s out … We taking that s### to number one.”

The Love Album: Off The Grid is available now on streaming platforms. Diddy’s latest project features collaborations with Mary J. Blige, The Weeknd, Busta Rhymes, 21 Savage, French Montana, Swae Lee, Summer Walker and more.

YNW Melly Stuck In Waiting Game; Victim’s Mom Urges Judge To Deny Bond

A Florida judge left YNW Melly waiting for an answer regarding his request for bond. According to multiple reports, Judge John Murphy deferred his decision to a later date at a court hearing on Friday (September 15).

YNW Melly, whose real name is Jamell Demons, has remained in jail for more than four years. He was arrested on murder charges in 2019. His lawyers sought bond ahead of his retrial for the murders of YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser.

The 24-year-old rapper’s first trial began in June. Jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict in the double murder case. Judge Murphy declared a mistrial in July.

Jury selection for YNW Melly’s retrial is scheduled to begin on October 9. Prosecutors hope to have a jury to be seated by November 2.

YNW Melly is accused of killing YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser in 2018. YNW Juvy’s mother Leondra Phillips spoke at Friday’s hearing, asking Judge Murphy to deny bond.

“I don’t think he should be granted a bond at all,” Phillips said.

Prosecutors claim YNW Melly and his alleged accomplice YNW Bortlen staged a drive-by shooting to cover up the 2018 murders. YNW Bortlen, whose real name is Cortlen Henry, will be tried separately.

Drake’s Million-Dollar Gambles: A Closer Look at His Biggest Wins and Losses

Drake, the famous rapper, is also a well-known gambling fan: you can hardly find another singer as passionate about betting and casino games. The celebrity spares no expense on his favourite entertainment – it’s no secret that he can spend six-figure sums punting on loud sports events.

He once placed $250,000 on the Nuggets basketball team, and what do you think? A huge bet brought him insane winnings, as he eventually received $850,000. And it’s only one occasion in Drake’s gambling history.

A Quick Overview of Drake’s Most Significant Bets

The rapper is known to place insane bets – you will not find him in one-dollar casinos. Drake prefers to fly high and invest millions, eventually getting even more or losing the entire stake. He began gambling in Canadian land-based casinos and then switched to virtual gaming clubs.

One of the latest player’s bets was equal to $1.3 billion; the rapper invested this sum in Bitcoin on Super Bowl matches. Another shocking sum was invested in NBA betting: he spent over $720,000 during the competition in London.

Drake’s New and Favourite Casino Games

The rapper never misses the chance to play some casino games. Drake was spotted spending time on Stake.com. This popular brand is listed among new operators on various platforms. Roulette is the favourite game of the hip-hop star: live-streaming of him gambling on Twitch got hundreds of thousands of viewers.

Drake doesn’t try to keep his hobby a secret, showing his failures and successes to the whole world. The rapper once showed a video of him investing $200,000 into a single roulette spin, impressing fans with high stakes. It was later proven fake, as the online casino only allows a maximum of $20,000 per round.

However, this does not negate that the famous performer is ready to invest tens of thousands of dollars in his favourite game.

Drake’s Sportsbetting Stakes

The hip-hop star is also not indifferent to sports betting: he prefers to bet on MMA, football, basketball, and Formula 1. Usually, Drake invests insane sums when following matches. Are you ready to learn about his biggest stakes?

  • $427,000 on Justin Gaethje to get the lightweight champion title
  • $393,000 on Odell Beckham Jr. during Super Bowl
  • $335,000 on Tomy Fury vs. Jake Paul
  • $275,000 on Jorge Masvidal vs. Colby Covington

And what do you think? All these bets were a complete failure. Fans are joking that everything Drake touches appears to be a loss. But we completely disagree with them, as despite multiple unsuccessful instances, the rapper’s gambling career is quite profitable.

Drake’s Curse: The Viral Meme

It’s said the rapper brings failures to athletes – after interacting with him, teams usually lose even despite the odds. This trend started with the Toronto Raptors in 2013: Drake became the club’s ambassador. Later on, the team began losing in all the important competitions. Serena William, Conor McGregor, Sergio Aguero, and others fell under this influence.

Even the undefeated Antony Joshua was unpredictably crushed by Andy Ruiz Jr., which happened exactly after the boxer met Drake. Joshua even posted a picture, mentioning he would break the curse. But unfortunately, it didn’t work – he was defeated in the fight in 2019.

We strongly believe these are just coincidences, but the fact is the fact. However, it seems that sports stars are not superstitious at all, as they still don’t hesitate to meet the famous rapper.

Drake’s Crypto Gambling Experience

Stake.com, the rapper’s favourite gambling platform, is one of the most popular crypto casinos. Drake is known to place bets via cryptocurrencies, as it’s quick and convenient. The famous player invested over $1.25 million in Bitcoin in Super Bowl matches and roulette games.

He eventually received over $300,000 in profits from such huge stakes. Many think he’s an addict and needs treatment – but Drake doesn’t care about what others say and continues depositing millions in his hobby.

Cryptocurrency betting and gambling are now on the rise in multiple countries, partly thanks to the hip-hop star. Users think, “If Drake trusts cryptocurrencies and uses them often in online casinos and sportsbooks, then why shouldn’t I try?”

Final Thoughts

Drake is definitely the most popular gambler in the world: hit huge stakes to impress even those far from the casino world. Even though the rapper experiences significant losses, his loud victories help him to win over.

The rapper prefers crypto gambling on Stake.com: many say there’s a partnership between Drake and the platform. However, none of the parties confirmed a collaboration, so we prefer to think the hip-hop star just loves this entertainment.

Jeezy Reportedly Files For Divorce From His Wife Of Two Years Jeannie Mai

Jeezy has reportedly filed for divorce from his wife Jeannie Mai, just one year after their young daughter was born and two years after being married. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Atlanta-bred rap legend filed his court documents in Fulton County Superior Court, noting that he and Mai, the former co-host of “The Real,” have already separated.

The Grammy Award-nominated artist also stated they have a prenuptial agreement in place and that he’ll be seeking joint legal custody of their young baby.

Jeezy and Jeannie Mai had a very public wedding at their Atlanta home in March 2021 during the pandemic.

Recently, Jeezy was a part of the select group of artists who went to visit Vice President Kamala Harris for a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop.

Harris invited over 400 esteemed guests to her home, including D-Nice, Common, Lil Wayne, Slick Rick & Doug E. Fresh, Too Short, MC Lyte, Roxanne Shante, Remy Ma and Fat Joe.

Also, there were politicians from the Congressional Black Caucus, like Rep. Steven Horsford (D-Nev.), Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.), and Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.).

YNW Melly Back In Court Hoping To Get Bail

YNW Melly is due in court on Friday (September 15), and he’s hoping the judge overseeing his case will allow him to be released on bond. The 24-year-old rapper, who’s been locked up since February 2019, wants to be home as he awaits his double murder case retrial.

NBC 6 reports he’ll be attending an Arthur hearing, where individuals in custody can present their case to a judge and allowing their attorneys to argue for their bail eligibility. If granted bail, they have the option to secure their release by posting it.

As previously reported by AllHipHop.com, the Florida native stands accused of two charges of first-degree murder in relation to the death of his two friends, Anthony Williams (YNW SakChaser) and Christopher Thomas Jr. (YNW Juvy) in October 2017. Should he be convicted, he faces the death penalty. He’s pleaded not guilty and three months ago, the judge declared a mistrial.

Earlier this month, one of the jurors on the case alleged YNW Melly was being framed and that the prosecution attempted to manipulate the jury, which led to the mistrial.

“I believe that he didn’t do it and it wasn’t proved in court,” the juror said. “This was a really bad situation of being framed. Melly was a very good person. He always tried to help out people around him.”

YNW Melly’s first double murder trial ended in a mistrial on July 22 due to a jury deadlock. The retrial is scheduled to commence on October 9, starting with the jury selection process.

Ice Cube Claps Back At Elon Musk Over Ice Water Meme

X owner Elon Musk, 52, is a polarizing public figure known to get into online feuds with other celebrities. This week saw the world’s richest man (estimated $271 billion net worth) take aim at Hip-Hop legend Ice Cube.

On September 14, Elon Musk made fun of Ice Cube on the X platform. The Tesler CEO shared a meme that read, “Remember Ice Cube? This is him now, feel old yet?”

Musk’s tweet included a photo of the N.W.A member alongside a picture of a half-full glass of water. That seemingly light-hearted jab collected more than 15,000 replies, 48,000 reposts, 660,000 likes, and 84 million views.

Ice Cube clapped back at Musk on the billionaire’s own social media service. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer referred to the app once known as Twitter as a dumpster fire which represents a disastrous situation.

On his own X account, Cube uploaded a meme that read, “Remember Twitter? This [is] it now, feel stupid yet?” The 54-year-old rapper/actor’s post featured images of Twitter’s old logo as well as a dumpster in flames.

As of press time, Cube’s takedown of Elon Musk’s leadership as the head of X amassed more than 8,000 replies, 30,000 reposts, 200,000 likes, and 24 million views. Even Roots drummer Questlove commented under that tweet with a “Booyah!” gif.

Meanwhile, Ice Cube’s BIG3 basketball league recently crowned the Gilbert Arenas-coached Enemies as the 2023 champions. The Enemies defeated the Triplets team inside London, England’s O2 Arena on August 26.

Cardi B Believes Offset’s ‘Set It Off’ Album Is Grammy Worthy

Offset will release his sophomore solo album on October 13. The Atlanta rapper’s wife, Hip-Hop superstar Cardi B, is already proclaiming Set If Off is award-winning content.

Yesterday (September 14), Offset officially announced the release date for Set If Off. He also shared the project’s cover art. Cardi B took to her Instagram Story to help promote her husband’s upcoming work.

“FINALLY… This album is so good… I believe [it’s] Grammy worthy,” declared Cardi. The Bronx-raised entertainer continued, “So much time, passion, love, sweat, and tears put into it. From the music to the visual.”

Set If Off follows 2019’s Father of 4. That debut studio LP from Offset hosted the Grammy-nominated single “Clout” featuring Cardi B. The couple also linked up again on wax for this year’s “Jealousy.”

Offset’s music video for “Jealousy” has racked up over 17 million YouTube views since its premiere on July 28. The Migos member also presented visuals for the new song “Fan” on Friday morning.

“I’ve been working on this project for over two years now. This season is personal for me. It marks a new chapter in my life,” said Offset.

He added, “I feel like Michael Jackson coming from a successful group breaking records to superstardom on my own. This body of work is healing for me and a letter to my fans and supporters.”

Migos earned two Grammy nominations during the trio’s run, including a nod for Best Rap Album (Culture). Offset, Quavo, and the late Takeoff also scored two No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart.

The “Fan” music video pays homage to Michael Jackson’s classic “Thriller” short film. Power Book II: Ghost actress Paige Hurd as well as internet personalities Kai Cenat and Fanum appeared in Offset’s self-directed clip.

50 Cent Confuses Michael Jackson For Drake

Micheal Jackson and Drake are widely viewed as two of the most successful recording artists of their respective generations. Apparently, 50 Cent got the two icons mixed up.

Last night (September 14), 50 Cent shared a personal story on the X social media platform. The G-Unit Films and Television Inc. founder recalled an unexpected interaction over a t-shirt he had on.

“I’m in the gym working out and this girl says you like Michael Jackson? 👀I said this [is] a Drake shirt fool, then I Googled and this popped up. 🤷🏽‍♂️ WTF. 🤨 I had to apologize!” wrote 50 Cent.

Additionally, 50 uploaded photos of the black shirt that featured two eyes on the front. The original merch apparently came from Micheal Jackson’s Dangerous World Tour which took place in 1992 and 1993.

The cover art for the Dangerous album also included an image of MJ’s eyes. The self-proclaimed King of Pop released the 8x-Platinum Dangerous in 1991. His classic album, Thriller from 1982, is 34x-Platinum.

Aubrey Drake Graham has his own list of Platinum-certified projects too. For example, 2011’s Take Care crossed the 6x-Platinum mark. The Canadian’s Views also earned 6x-Platinum certification.

For his part, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson can claim to have one of the best-selling Hip-Hop albums of all time. The Recording Industry Association of America certified 2003’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’ as 9x-Platinum.
