Tasha K Caves After Losing Appeal; Apologizes To Cardi B

Tasha K suffered another loss in her legal battle against Cardi B.

According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, the Eleventh Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals denied Tasha K’s attempt to appeal Cardi B’s victory in a defamation lawsuit. Tasha K, whose real name is Latasha Kebe, reacted to the ruling via social media on Tuesday (March 21).

“Damn Winos!” she wrote. “We lost the appeal… against #CardiB sad day.. but I’m gonna be alright… I appreciate all your love & support. Throughout this fight. Today we throw in the white flag… To Cardi and her team, I apologize sincere. We live & learn.”

Last year, Cardi B won more than $4 million in her lawsuit against Tasha K. The vlogger sought a new trial for months, but the appeals court upheld the verdict this week.

“There are two issues here,” the judges wrote. “One is whether the jury had sufficient evidence to hold appellants—Latasha Kebe and others—liable for defamation (and other privacy torts) against appellee Belcalis Almanzar (better known as ‘Cardi B’). The other is whether the district court erred by excluding evidence. We hold that Kebe hasn’t preserved either issue for appeal.”

They continued, “Defendant Latasha Kebe asks for a new trial, saying that there was insufficient evidence for the jury verdict against her. But as she all but admits, she didn’t make either of the required post-verdict motions in the district court. As a result, we have no authority to consider her insufficiency-of-the-evidence argument on appeal.”

The appeals court called Tasha K’s legal response “unavailing.”

“She seems to assert that she can seek a new trial on appeal not because she did so below, but rather because she didn’t,” the judges explained. “So while she apparently (and correctly) accepts that making one pre-verdict insufficiency-of-the-evidence motion isn’t enough to preserve the right to challenge the sufficiency of the evidence on appeal, she seems to think that one can preserve that right by making no insufficiency motions at all. That is incorrect.”

They added, “Kebe gains nothing by pointing out that she never made a pre-verdict insufficiency-of-the-evidence motion. All that matters is that she ‘never sought a new trial before the District Court’ through a post-verdict motion and has ‘thus forfeited [her] right to do so on appeal.’”

The appeals court also noted Tasha K failed to preserve her evidentiary arguments. The judges saw no proof of the supposed errors in the Cardi B case.

“Kebe didn’t adequately brief her challenges to the district court’s evidentiary rulings,” the judges wrote. “Specifically, she never tells us where in the 5500-page record the district court’s alleged errors can be found. That lapse violates the rule that appellants must identify the ‘parts of the record on which [they] rel[y].’ Because Kebe’s brief falls well short of what we require, she has abandoned this argument.”

A jury found Tasha K liable for defamation, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress in January 2022. A few months later, a judge forced the vlogger to delete all of her defamatory posts about Cardi B.

Saweetie Talks About Why Debut Album Has Not Dropped Yet

Believe it or not … Saweetie has never dropped a full album.

Fans were expecting her debut studio album in 2021, but delays have kept the project on ice.

The “Icy Girl” did an interview with E! News to share what’s up with the delays.

“I’ve been through a lot of interesting experiences,” Saweetie said. “So, I wanna put that all into my album in the most artistic and organic way.”

“I feel like a debut album is not something you just put out,” she explained. “It’s not something you play with. I’m a Cancer so I like to overthink sometimes, but I think you have to be really careful with that and I take my art really serious.”

Is it possible that Saweetie has missed her wave? The West Coast dream entered into the game with Megan thee Stallion and the City Girls. Currently, the ladies that are blazing the charts are Glo-Rilla, Lola Brookes, and another arctic angel, Ice Spice.

“I like Lola Brooke, I like Ice Spice,” the singer shared. “And I’ve been watching Baddies West, I like Stunna Girl, too.”

Chris Rock Says Arresting Donald Trump Is Like Arresting Tupac

Comedian Chris Rock has spoken out on former president Donald Trump’s possible indictment and arrest.

During remarks at the Kennedy Center’s Mark Twain Prize ceremony on March 19, he said lawmakers are “stupid” to want to see 45 behind bars— despite him breaking the law, the New York Post reports.

He asked the audience, including the current president who defeated Trump in 2020, “Are you guys really going to arrest Trump?”

His logic is that incarceration would only make Trump more popular with his base.

“It’s like arresting Tupac … he’s just gonna sell more records. Are you stupid?”

The 58-year-old comedian even quipped the bust down that he got in trouble for, one that gave Stormy Daniels over $100,000 to be quiet about their affair during his first presidential election in 2016, was simply him being “romantic.”

Daniels, a p### star, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, had an affair in 2006.

A grand jury is believed to return with an indictment on Tuesday, March 21 and New York City, Trump’s hometown, is preparing for massive protests by his supporters.

Like Chris Rock, right-wingers think it horrible to lock up Trump. Pete Santilli, a political shock jock, called on MAGA -military men and women to execute former President Barack Obama, calling also for the execution of former Attorney General Eric Holder and former National Security Advisor Susan Rice.

It’s Our Thing: Isley Brothers Fighting Over Legendary Names

R&B legend Ronald Isley is being hauled into court.  The person leveling the complaint is not a stranger but his brother.

TMZ reports Rudolph Isley, the older brother of Mr. Biggs, is suing for the trademark of “The Isley Brothers” group name.

The lawsuit alleges Ronald Isley applied for and obtained a trademark for the group in November 2021 and only included his name on the paperwork. The foxy business move entitles him to all of the profits from things sold in the name of the group. Recently, he doubled-backed and was granted the exclusive rights to  “visual recordings and audiovisual recordings featuring music and animation.”

In the original 2021 trademark, the two split profits on some of the big deals that came through on behalf of the group. The two also negotiated a multi-million-dollar publishing deal together through the name of the group.

This basically cuts the brother out of everything.

According to the brother, there should have been a 50/50 split between him and his brother. Originally, the group had three members but their other brother O’Kelly transitioned in 1986.

Rudolph Isley is asking for a judge to revoke the trademark as it is and declare “The Isley Brother” trademark to be jointly owned by both brothers.

Neither brother has spoken publicly on the lawsuit.

Has The Peace Process Started With Pioneering Female MCs?

A lot has been made of the pioneering female MCs that helped pave the way for where we are today. Most notably, much has been made of the BEEFS that they have reportedly had with each other. Recently, we saw headlines about MC Sha Rock going off. In her lament, she re-affirmed that she was the very first female MC and that MC Debbie D, Lisa Lee (of the Zulu Nation) and Pebblee Poo (rapped with Kool Herc) were not. Pebblee Poo got the strongest language directed to her, but there was a sub-topic many missed.

Both Poo and Debbie have claimed to be the first “female MC soloist.” By now you should know that Sha Rock was in a crew called Funky 4 + 1 and they were the first Hip-Hop act on national TV. O February 14, 1981 the group performed on Saturday Night Live hosted by rock star Deborah Harry of Blondie. Just so you know, check out some goodies.

So, here is why I am here:

Sha Rock was first, but there were others after her. Debbie D and Lisa Lee are particularly popular because they all appeared in the movie “Beat Street.” However, there’s a word on the streets that Debbie D and Pebblee Poo recently got together privately to squash any misunderstanding that may be between them. Word on the street is that they mutually apologized and mutually showed love to each other at the end of the conversation. I am wondering if Sha Rock is next for a phone call?

Hopefully, there can be peace! All the pioneers don’t have to agree, but time is ticking and we are losing people daily. We don’t need their legacies to be tainted with strife! Let Hip-Hop Be Great!

Has Wendy Williams Started Drinking Again?

Wendy Williams was recently seen drinking at a gay bar in New York City. This is news, because she recently got out of rehab. People are concerned about the former talk show host that has been slowly crawling back to the forefront. A white podcaster recently divulged that he hung out with Wendy and the news said a lot.

Rob Shuter, the podcaster, told the New York Post that Wendy “lit up like a Christmas tree to see someone she knew” after appearing lonely. After that, he went back to share in latest episode of his podcast how it went down. He revealed that he and his crew had food and drinks with Wendy. And in this, she made the startling revelation that the gossip goddess wanted her buds to go! Another person with The Post, a sketchy publication at times, said that she flat-out wanted to get drunk. “She wasn’t hiding [her drinking],” the source said.

Wendy is also looking for love! I would like for her not to look for love, but let it find her. She is going to meet the wrong person and then get done dirty again. She also said she is willing to f##k, which is a completely different thing altogether!

Before leaving, she took a lot of pictures with the gay men at the bar. I am wondering why there are no more picture of these assumed interactions. I am hoping she gets out of the drinking phase and goes back to the sobriety stage. She ain’t going to get back in a state of drunkenness!

I am not sure that these reports and things are just “reports.” Some seem like hit jobs! Wendy clearly p##### off some people in high places and she has been CHECKED. And just as she makes some movies forward, she gets knocked back down.

URL’s Kings vs. Queens Epic Event Ends In Controversial Win For The Kings

The fourth installment of URL’s marquee franchise Kings vs. Queens once again proved that battle rap is a sport where men and women can clash on a level playing field.  

Two of the Ultimate Rap league’s biggest and most consistent rappers provided the climax to the event, while the rest of the card was also stacked with top-tier talent. Five battles would determine the overall winners on the night, the Kings or the Queens.  

Ultimately, the guys edged the win in the five-battle card. However both teams tied right up until the night’s final match-up. Following an epic clash, Tay Roc edged Ms. Hustle in a controversial fan vote, cementing a 3-2 win for the Kings. 

However, URL co-founder Smack White claimed the women took the win despite the fan vote. During an interview with hiphopisreal.com, the battle rap icon said Ms. Hustle “edged” a victory over Roc in a “classic,” alongside Jaz and Shooney, who both won their fan vote.  

Smack Gives His Kings vs. Queens 4 Verdict

One of the night’s highlights came as the event drew to a close. URL paid tribute to Smack’s first gunner, Tay Roc. The legendary Baltimore spitter’s Kings vs. Queens battle marked his 50th battle on the Ultimate Rap League.  

An emotional Tay Roc wiped away tears as he embraced his daughter after he was presented with a cake onstage. “I love y’all, for real,” he said, addressing the audience. “I been here a decade plus, and I still get the same love and same support. It’s URL forever. You aint ever got to question.” 

He also gave a shout-out to his friend, Guntitles partner and fellow battle rap legend, Tsu Surf, currently awaiting trial in a RICO case. “Free The Wave, free my brother,” he said during his speech. “I wish he was here, I miss that brother so much, a big part of my career.” Check out the moving tribute below.  

Shotgun Suge vs. Shooney Da Rapper 

Veteran battle rapper Shooney Da Rapper kicked off the night and set the bar for the ladies with a victory against Shotgun Suge, who claimed to be on a nine-battle unbeaten run before Kings vs. Queens. The New Jersey rapper playfully told his opponent, “I taught you everything you know,” after Shooney shook the building with a haymaker.  

Suge had the bars, but his delivery let him down, rushing through his material at times with a few stumbles throughout. He still managed to spit fire and even potentially lined up his next clash after new era star and Ultimate Madness 1 champion Fonz approached him onstage following the battle. 

DNA vs. Casey Jay 

Next up was Casey Jay, recently crowned “The Face” by Smack for her unrivaled run in the Ultimate Madness tournament. The Texan lyricst faced one of the hardest-to-beat battle rappers in the sport, DNA. They both had explosive starts, with Casey Jay flipping one of DNA’s most memorable moments, roasting him with his own “get it the f### outta here” catchphrase. 

However, DNA showed off one of his strongest abilities with a freestyle early in the clash. While lesser emcees might have become flustered after slipping and falling on stage, DNA was not. He turned the moment into a room-shaking rebuttal. While Casey fought hard, DNA scored the victory for the Kings to tie the score at 1-1. 

Nu Jerzey Twork vs. Coffee Brown

The third battle saw the reigning Women’s Champion of the Year, Coffee Brown, take on the heavyweight Nu Jerzey Twork. The match-up was the first on her comeback after having a child. The New Jersey star is currently in formidable form, and Coffee failed to stop his streak. She showed she’s a warrior by fighting past a lackluster crowd to deliver her bars with characteristic aggression. The pair got spicy as their previous romantic encounters came into play during the battle, Coffee’s first-ever big-stage outing.  

However, a triumphant Twork came out on top, scoring the victory with an exciting performance that suggests his current form is here to stay.  

Charlie Clips vs. Jaz the Rapper 

Jaz The Rapper confirmed the clash against legendary battle rapper and Wild ‘n Out star Charlie Clips was her biggest yet. She expertly structured her material, displaying her strong battle rap IQ to score the win over Clips.  

The Brooklyn emcee flipped some of her opp’s classic material, doing “a whole other scheme with it.” She also used a call-back to his “guess which room I’m in,” scheme to belittle his career trajectory.  

Jaz also tagged in Benjo Lolo, known for his theatrical performances, to play “Black Jesus.” The move was a rebuttal to Clips bringing out a white man dressed as Jesus in his battle against Yoshi G in the last Kings vs. Queens event.  

However, the move backfired somewhat as a freestyle-heavy Clips rebuttaled the move himself in the opener to his second round. Nonetheless, it wasn’t enough to beat Jaz, who took the win with a narrower margin than her performance deserved.  

Tay Roc vs. Ms. Hustle 

It was fitting that the most anticipated battle on the card, the grudge match between Tay Roc and Ms. Hustle was also the most debatable. The clash was years in the making and lived up to the expectations, even with the significance of Roc’s 50th battle. 

Ms. Hustle was electrifying and had the crowd lapping up her bars in the finale of Kings vs. Queens 4. She even took one of her rival’s most popular adlibs, screaming, “IT’S MEEEE,” during her rounds.  

Although Ms. Hustle put forth a strong attack, it wasn’t enough to match Tay Roc in the fan’s eyes. He showed his exceptional talent, demonstrating why he’s simply one of the greatest to ever do it. He brought his viral “body b####” scheme from his Kings vs. Queens 2 battle against O’fficial, tearing into the glamazon’s appearance.

‘Grown-Ish’ Actor Trevor Jackson Defends Co-Star Chlöe Bailey Over Sex Scene Critiques

Some social media users did not appreciate Chlöe Bailey doing a provocative scene in Amazon Prime Video’s Swarm series. However, Trevor Jackson showed support for the Chloe x Halle singer.

Chlöe Bailey simulating sexual acts with Damson Idris on the Donald Glover-created show sparked furor online. Critics complained that the 24-year-old vocalist/actress is tarnishing her reputation.

Trevor Jackson seemingly disagrees with the critiques directed at Chlöe Bailey. TMZ spoke to the former Disney Channel actor at Los Angeles International Airport to get his thoughts on the backlash.

“I haven’t seen it yet, but it’s art, and I support Chlöe in any and everything that she does,” stated Trevor Jackson about Chlöe Bailey’s performance in Swarm.

The Love Language album creator continued, “She’s an amazing person, and she’s an artist, and she can do whatever she wants, whatever she feels led to do. It’s her life, and she’ll always have my support every time.”

Chlöe Bailey Has An Album Dropping Next Month

26-year-old Trevor Jackson has not been afraid to act out sexual intercourse in his own films. 2017’s Burning Sands and 2018’s Superfly show him performing sex scenes. He also got nude in his “Right Now” music video.

Jackson appeared alongside Chlöe Bailey and Halle Bailey in the Grown-ish television series on the Disney Entertainment-owned Freeform channel. Grown-ish is a spinoff of the ABC sitcom Black-ish starring Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Yara Shahidi.

Chlöe Bailey, Halle Bailey, and Trevor Jackson were also part of the cast for the Disney Channel movie musical Let It Shine. Jackson went on to release numerous music projects. Chloe x Halle eventually earned four Grammy nominations.

While Chlöe Bailey is dealing with the negative reactions to her viral moment from Swarm, the Georgia native prepares to drop her debut solo album. The In Pieces studio LP will arrive on March 31. Bailey then begins her “The In Pieces Tour” on April 11.

Is Trump Really Going To Jail?

For the longest, they have been trying to put former president Donald J. Trump in prison. When I say “they,” I mean the federal government. So far, nothing has stuck to the Teflon Don of American politics. So, more recently, Trump himself announced that he was going to be arrested on Tuesday, which is today. Many assumed that he was just trying to drum up support in the fascist world, but could their be some reality in this?

First of all, an indictment would have to take place. I am reading and it seems like it could go down. There’s been little indication what the charges could be. The New York Times says the following:

The New York Times has reported that the case may include a potential charge of falsifying business records under Article 175 of the New York Penal Law…. To prove that Mr. Trump committed that offense, prosecutors would seemingly need evidence showing that he had knowingly caused subordinates to make a false entry in his company’s records “with intent to defraud.” For the action to be a felony rather than a misdemeanor, prosecutors would also need to show that Mr. Trump falsified the business records with the intention of committing, aiding, or concealing a second crime.

He is looking at four years minimally in prison if he goes down for this stuff.

Anyway, if he does get arrested, it is likely that he will be cuffed and made to do the perp walk. Since he is a former president of these United States, he may get some leeway. This is a non-violent infraction so he would likely be released after posting bail and all that.

I am just waiting to hear if this all comes true or not.

I am pretty sure they want to make sure Trump is not eligible for the 2024 elections. I think they need to let him and Ronald Dion DeSantis cancel each other out. What do you think?

Paper Route Empire Releases Posthumous Video For Young Dolph’s “Love For The Streets”

Adolph Robert Thornton Jr. (professionally known as Young Dolph) passed away on November 17, 2021, from a fatal gunshot.

Prior to his passing, Young Dolph recorded numerous songs which eventually became tracks on the 2022 album Paper Route Frank. The posthumous project came out via the Memphis native’s Paper Route Empire label.

This week saw Paper Route Empire release the official music video for the Paper Route Frank single “Love For The Streets.” The 4-minute visuals include footage of Young Dolph.

Paper Route Frank features Key Glock, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, and more. The album is part of a Young Dolph studio LP discography that also includes projects such as 2016’s King of Memphis, 2018’s Role Model, and 2020’s Rich Slave.

Mixtapes like Paper Route Campaign and Gelato dropped between 2008 and 2017. Additionally, Young Dolph joined forces with his relative, Key Glock, for 2019’s Dum and Dummer and 2021’s Dum and Dummer 2.

Key Glock let loose Glockoma 2 on February 24. The Paper Route Empire signee plays Dolph’s “100 Shots” every night on his “Sirius XM Hip Hop Nation Presents The Glockoma Tour” as a tribute to his mentor/cousin.

In celebration of Young Dolph’s life and legacy, Paper Route Empire and the Trap Music Museum presents Dolphland. The pop-up museum has already visited New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Dolphland will also make stops in Atlanta and Memphis in the coming weeks.

‘Bel-Air’ Star Jabari Banks Covers Usher’s “Yeah!” On ‘That’s My Jam’

Jabari Banks joined French Montana, Chance The Rapper, and Quavo on an episode of NBC’s That’s My Jam. The star of Bel-Air performed a hit record by R&B legend Usher on the game show.

During the “Opposites Attract” segment, Jabari Banks took on the task of singing the lyrics to “Yeah!” over the music to Ariana Grande’s “No Tears Left to Cry” single.

That’s My Jam host Jimmy Fallon asked Banks if he knows the words to Usher’s “Yeah” which came out in 2004. The 24-year-old simply replied, “Yeah.” He then shared his live rendition of the song.

“Yeah!” featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris spent twelve consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Crunk&B classic is one of Usher’s nine No. 1 entries on the Hot 100.

West Philadelphia native Jabari Banks plays a teenage Will Smith on Peacock’s Bel-Air weekly series. Bel-Air is a reimagined dramatic version of the iconic 1990s-era sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

In addition to Jabari Banks, the Bel-Air cast includes Adrian Holmes, Cassandra Freeman, Olly Sholotan, Coco Jones, Akira Akbar, Jimmy Akingbola, Jordan L. Jones, Simone Joy Jones, Michael Ealy, and Karrueche Tran.

Season 2 of Bel-Air debuted on February 23. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actress Tatyana Ali took a different role as a Bel-Air Academy teacher on the rebooted program. “Tap In” rapper Saweetie also made a cameo as herself.

“If you took all of the characters from the 90s, but you dove into all of their diaries and all of their journals and what they were feeling internally, that’s what our show is,” said Jabari Banks about Bel-Air as compared to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Bryson Tiller Announces “Back And I’m Better Tour”

Louisville’s Bryson Tiller is the latest R&B/Hip Hop recording artist to announce new U.S. tour dates. “Back and I’m Better” kicks off May 4 in San Diego, California.

The Live Nation-produced tour will hit 25 cities. Bryson Tiller fans in Las Vegas, Chicago, Detroit, New York, Philadelphia, DC, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and other locales will have the chance to see the singer live.

Tiller broke out as a star-on-the-rise with “Don’t” in 2015. That single went on to peak at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Recording Industry Association of America certified “Don’t” as 7x-Platinum.

“Exchange” also earned a 7x-Platinum Award. Both “Don’t” and “Exchange” appear on Tiller’s Trapsoul studio LP which earned 3x-Platinum status. Trapsoul has spent 310 weeks on the Billboard 200 album chart since its release in 2015.

Bryson Tiller followed Trapsoul by dropping True to Self two years later. His sophomore LP debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 by earning 107,000 first-week units. True to Self hosts the Platinum-certified “Run Me Dry” single.

2020’s Anniversary is the Tennessee-bred vocalist’s most recent full-length album. That body of work opened in the No. 5 position on the Billboard 200 chart with 57,000 first-week units. “Outta Time” featuring Drake lives on Anniversary.

Blueface Pleads For Gay/Bisexual Men To Stop Sending Him Nude Pics

Rapper-turned-internet personality Blueface has made some comments that had people questioning his sexuality. However, the “Thotiana” performer wants the world to know he is not attracted to men.

“My hands [are] bisexual for anybody who feel a typa way get up with me,” tweeted Blueface on March 16. Apparently, that post about being willing to fight men and women led to some lustful direct messages.

Blueface returned to Twitter to plead for male members of the LGBTQ community to stop sharing unsolicited nude photos with him. The 26-year-old reality show star kept the request mostly light-hearted.

“Ever since I tweeted my hands [are] bisexual it’s been a lot of LGBTQ s### going on in my DM. That’s not what I meant, cuz 😂🙅🏽‍♂️,” wrote Blueface on Monday afternoon.

He added, “Please stop sending me gay s###. I respect the LGBTQ community, y’all went from a minority to majority, that’s a hell of [an] accomplishment. [You’re] welcome to love [whoever] you want, but don’t bring [that] over here please, respectfully.”

Was Blueface Sexually Harassed?

Blueface went on to describe some of the pornographic pictures that arrived in his DMs. In particular, the Cash Money Records affiliate discussed one image that had him questioning if the person possibly sexually harassed him.

“I go to click on a picture in my DM [and] you know how on Twitter it [doesn’t] show you the picture till you click on it… It’s a whole n#### on there spreading his ass open, cuz. Like [what the f###] is this. That’s sexual harassment. I ain’t sign up for this. You can’t even dm me on here no more,” tweeted Blueface.

The part-time amateur boxer has been dating his Crazy in Love co-star Chrisean Rock. That toxic on-again, off-again relationship included Rock once publicly asking Blueface if he had sex with a male little person.

Blueface also mockingly asked Chrisean Rock if Lil Baby wants to have sex with him as a response to Rock having a conversation with the Atlanta-bred rapper. Supposedly, Rock is currently pregnant with Blueface’s child.

Rubi Rose Responds To Backlash Over Ramadan Tweet By Changing Profile Pic

Rubi Rose was on the receiving end of some hefty backlash on social media over a tweet about Ramadan.  

Muslims worldwide are preparing for the holy month of Ramadan, which begins later this week, commencing on the evening of Mar. 22 in the U.S.A. and ending on the evening of Apr. 20. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. 

On Monday evening (Mar. 20), Rubi Rose was slammed by fans for tweeting, ”Ready for Ramadan 🤲🏾.”

“U bent over covering ya poom poom in ya profile pic , talm bout ready for Ramadan,” read one tweet that was viewed over one million times and garnered almost 50,000 likes.  

Fans objected to Rubi Rose tweeting about the holy month in light of her provocative profile picture. At the time of her Ramadan post, the rapper and model’s Twitter avi was a photo of her looking back at the camera while bent over, a hand covering her nether regions.  

Others pointed to a previous tweet from Rubi Rose implying she was a Christian.

A few hours later, Rubi Rose, rumored to be dating French Montana, shared a picture of herself wearing a hijab with her hair covered. She also changed her Twitter profile picture to a red circle.  

While she didn’t address the backlash directly, Rubi Rose did retweet a statement from City Girls’ JT “I love learning the hard way ima touch the stove every time!” the tweet read. The “Wifey” hitmaker also shared a statement about social media. “Twitter & Ig really two different places lol,” she declared.  

While some fans blasted Rubi Rose for her tweet, others were far more encouraging.  

“May Allah make it easy for us and change us all for the better,” wrote one fan. “Don’t pay attention to the bad mind people on here. It was nice to see you tweet this. 

“For all those who are judging her and trying to discourage her Allah is watching,” another user shared. “Congratulations sister ins sh allah Ramadan will go well for you”

Usher Interrupts His Las Vegas Show To Give Queen Latifah Her Flowers

Queen Latifah recently celebrated her birthday and decided to see Usher perform at his Las Vegas residency. 

However, the R&B crooner had a surprise in store for the Hip-Hop pioneer, one she wasn’t expecting. Somewhere during his performance, Usher paused his show for an important interruption. He paid tribute to the trailblazing rap icon, blasting her 1993 anthem, “U.N.I.T.Y.,” from the speakers while delivering her a beautiful bouquet of roses and a gift. 

The audience stood to their feet as Usher made his way over to Queen Latifah to give the icon her flowers.  

The pair shared a sweet embrace before Usher returned to the stage as Queen Latifah blew a kiss. Check out the video below. 

Meanwhile, the multihyphenate’s Queen Collective short film series recently made a return. Queen Latifah partnered with P&G and Flavor Unit Entertainment to deliver a six-part series featuring films from women of color.  

During a recent interview, Queen Latifah explained she was inspired to create the project after noticing the gap between women of color spending money on entertainment versus the number of these women actually telling the stories. 

“When you looked at the numbers with women, and then you looked at the numbers of women of color and people of color, these numbers were abhorrent,” Queen Latifah told The Root. “Our stories are being told, but not by us or not at all. Or we’re not seeing ourselves being represented in front of the camera, nor behind the camera. The interesting thing about it was that when you have a diverse group of people, diversity sells. It’s good business.” 

Doja Cat Announces “I’m Healing Really Fast” Following Breast Reduction & Liposuction

After announcing her plans to undergo breast enhancement surgery last year, Doja Cat revealed she is in recovery, having gone under the knife.

The rapper/singer took to Twitter on Wednesday to update her followers on her procedure and answer a few questions.  

“Got my t###### done and my c### bedazzled,” Doja Cat tweeted. She also announced that she’s in a lot of pain after getting liposuction to remove fat from her thighs. “Feels ok,” she added. “I got lipo so my thighs hurt a lot if i move too much. but im healing really fast.” 

When a fan asked how she’s doing, the Planet Her creator replied, “4 days into recovery rn.” Other fans questioned Doja Cat about her breast enhancement, with one asking, “big b###### or what?”

However, Doja revealed her new bra size. “32C,” she stated. She also confirmed she had a reduction, responding to a commenter who declared: “I just know her boobs bigger.” Doja replied, “nope. Smaller.”

Last November, Doja Cat admitted that she was unhappy with how her breasts looked in some outfits.  

“I’m literally about to get surgery this winter lmao,” she told a fan on Twitter. “I just want my t###### pulled up cuz some of my tops don’t fit the way i want them to.”  

When fans began debating her procedures, with one suggesting, “Lipo is when fat is transferred from 1 area to another,” the “Get Into It” hitmaker clarified, “No it is not, dear. That is called a fat transfer. I did not get a fat transfer. 

When another fan asked what’s all the fuss about Doja Cat getting lipo, she offered a typical response.

Ari Lennox Shares ‘The Princess And The Frog’ Audition Video

Ari Lennox may have a career in Hollywood in her sights after announcing her plans to fall back on touring. 

Fans of the sultry R&B songstress were crushed to hear that her Age Sex Location Tour would be her last. However, the Washington, D.C. native could have another career path in mind, one that involves singing and acting. 

With the upcoming Disney movies, The Little Mermaid and Peter Pan & Wendy, rumors have swirled that the movie giant is considering a remake of 2009’s The Princess and the Frog. Ari Lennox has heard the gossip and wants to nab the role of Tiana.  

However, she’s not waiting for Disney to reach out and has taken matters into her own hands. On Monday evening (Mar. 20), Ari Lennox took to social media to share her audition for the role. She posted a video of her singing a rendition of one of the songs from The Princess and the Frog soundtrack. 

She introduced herself to any potential casting team at Disney, writing, “Hi I’m Ari Lennox and I would love an opportunity to audition for Princess and The Frog in person. ❤️ Here’s #AlmostThere by Anika Noni Rose.”

Meanwhile, last December, Ari Lennox announced she will no longer be hitting the road to tour her music.

Judge Silences Lawyers & Potential Witnesses In Mystikal Rape Case

A judge granted Mystikal’s request for a gag order in his rape case.

According to The Advocate, Judge Steven Tureau issued the gag order at a hearing in Gonzales, Louisiana. The ruling stops attorneys, potential witnesses and law enforcement from talking to the media about Mystikal’s case.

Mystikal’s lawyer Tiffany Myles Crosby asked the judge for a gag order, citing an “inordinate amount of publicity.” Prosecutors had no objections.

Last year, Mystikal was arrested for allegedly raping a woman at his home in Prairieville, Louisiana. Authorities also accused him of choking the victim and threatening her with scissors in a dispute over money.

The 52-year-old artist was indicted for first-degree rape, among other charges. He has remained in jail since his July 2022 arrest.

Mystikal, whose real name is Michael Tyler, pleaded not guilty to the charges. His trial is expected to begin this summer. He faces life in prison if convicted of rape.

The multi-platinum selling rapper is a registered sex offender. He served six years in prison after pleading guilty to sexual battery and extortion in 2003.

Mystikal previously faced rape and kidnapping charges in 2017. He spent roughly 18 months in jail before the case was dismissed in 2020.

XXXTentacion’s Girlfriend & Mother Say Justice Was Served In Murder Trial

XXXTentacion’s loved ones experienced relief when a jury found his killers guilty of murder on Monday (March 20).

Jenesis Sanchez, XXXTentacion’s girlfriend and the mother of his child Gekyume, commented on the verdict via Instagram Stories. She believed justice was served and thanked fans for their support.

“After 5 long years you may finally rest in peace,” she wrote. “Gekyume will never get to meet you earthside, but it is my job as a mother to ensure I share those special memories with him. Jah was robbed of his life and Geky was robbed of his father. For this, I will never truly have complete peace, but justice being served today helps the healing process.”

She added, “Thank you for the love and support. I am eternally grateful for all the supporters, your positivity and prayers have carried me these last 5 years.”

XXXTentacion’s mother Cleopatra Bernard expressed similar sentiments on Instagram Stories. In one post, Bernard displayed the shirt she wore in the courtroom.

“You finally got justice Jah,” she wrote. “I made sure you were present in the room.”

Michael Boatwright, Dedrick Williams and Trayvon Newsome were convicted of first-degree murder and armed robbery. They face life in prison.

A fourth man, Robert Allen, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for his role in XXXTentacion’s death. Allen testified against Boatwright, Williams and Newsome.

EXCLUSIVE: Elusive Ye Still Can’t Be Found Despite Process Servers’ Slick Tactics At Basketball Games

A Miami art studio requested more time to serve its lawsuit against Ye, who has eluded process servers for months.

According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Surface Media filed a motion for alternative service and a 60-day extension to serve Ye on Monday (March 20). Last year, Surface Media sued Kanye West for allegedly failing to pay rent for its art studio.

Surface Media previously asked for an extension in January. Process servers have struggled to find Ye since the studio pursued legal action against him in October 2022.

Earlier this year, process servers unsuccessfully attempted to deliver documents to Kanye at the property he bought near Kim Kardashian’s home and a Beverly Hills hotel. Other failed attempts included efforts to stake out Ye at his kids’ basketball games in February.

“The moment the paparazzi recognized a vehicle, they ran towards the vehicle, and I followed,” one process server wrote. “I observed most people were teenagers, college-age and adults. After 4:00 pm the teenagers, college-age and adults emptied out of the center and parents with young children trickled in. The Defendant’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, did show up with her security but no sign of Kanye West.”

A week later, a different person tried to serve Ye at the location where his children play basketball.

“I felt comfortable enough to walk the floors and take my time looking to see if I can see Kanye West,” the second process server wrote. “As I toured around the courts, I carefully looked for our subject. I did not see him. I returned to the doors of the rear entrance and I maintained my position in that general area keeping an eye on anyone that would be entering or exiting these doors. From 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., during this time, I did not see Kanye West.”

He continued, “During surveillance, when a group of children finished their training and was leaving the court, I watched for [paparazzi]. I did not see any. From 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., during this time, I kept a close eye on the doors of the training center. I did not see Kanye West during this time … I left the location at 7:00 pm.”

A third process server attempted to serve Ye at the Yeezy office in February. Security informed the person the suite had been vacant since last year.

Surface Media is seeking more than $145,000 in back rent from Kanye.
