Toosii Accuses Police Officer Of Pulling Gun On Him: “You Was Dead Ass Finna To Shoot Me!”

Toosii had what he says could’ve been a fatal interaction with police on Saturday night (March 11). Taking to Instagram, the Capitol Records signee accused a North Carolina police officer of pulling a gun on him.

“I did not pull no gun on him,” he argued in the video below. “My gun fell on the ground…no it was not in my hand, bro, it fell out my car.”

Toosii explained he picked up the weapon and put it in the car, but when he put his hands up, he said a police officer still brandished his gun without probable cause.

“You was dead ass finna to shoot me,” he told the officer, adding, “This n-gga said, ‘gun, gun, gun’ as if someone was finna to like, what the f###?”

The officer denied it was him who yelled “gun, gun, gun,” but Toosii emphatically disagreed. He accused the officers of being the only one who pulled a gun on him. Several officers join in the conversation and started arguing with Toosii.

Toosii wrote in the caption: “Mind you I live in the state of North Carolina! An OPEN CARRY STATE where I am also LICENSED TO CARRY. You would think officers are more trained for situations like this. Instead you get officer d###### who pulls his gun out on me because he‘a so in fear for his life and ready to kill an innocent man and take him away from his family!

“I’m in disbelief at how someone who could have went throhhh so much training could have honestly reacted this way… I could have senselessly lost my life tonight because some coward was too afraid and doesn’t know how to do his job [thumbs down emoji].”

The video cut off before the incident was resolved. He did ask the officers if they were going to give him a ticket for “dark tint.” And at one point, they asked his rapper name to which he replied, “Toosii.” It’s unclear if that helped or hurt his predicament.

EXCLUSIVE: Rapper OMB Bloodbath Accused Of Aiding Violent Gang In Murder

OMB Bloodbath, a rising female rapper from Houston, Texas, has been indicted on a RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) charge for her alleged involvement in aiding her gang, the 100% Third Ward, in committing a murder.

Investigators claim that OMB Bloodbath, whose real name is Alexandra Elizabeth Nicks, is a leader of the 100% Third Ward and relayed messages from an imprisoned 103 leader to 103 gang members on the Houston streets.

They allege that she also organized and directed violent crimes committed by the gang.

According to court documents, on October 16, 2017, OMB Bloodbath and others murdered Sam Johnson on behalf of the 103 gang.

Johnson was found lying in the front yard of a residence in Houston, Texas, with shell casings scattered in the nearby street. Another victim, identified as a rival gang member with the Young Scott Block (YSB), was also injured in the shooting.

Investigators obtained video footage from nearby surveillance cameras, which depicted two people, including Johnson and the injured victim, walking towards a residence when a stolen Mazda drove by and began shooting.

The victims tried to run for cover, but the shooters continued to fire from the vehicle, even as it crashed into a drainage ditch. Four men jumped out of the Mazda and ran down the street towards a motel, firing their weapons toward the residence.

Three of the shooters then physically threw a woman and her infant out of a Kia Sedona that had been idling in the street before fleeing in the car.

Following the shooting, investigators reviewed jail calls of known 103 gang members and obtained jail calls between OMB Bloodbath and a known 103 gang leader who was incarcerated in Harris County Jail.

During the recorded calls, OMB Bloodbath and the gang leader discussed drive-by shootings conducted by a rival gang and planned retaliatory attacks.

OMB Bloodbath also told the incarcerated leader about her upcoming record deal and said she would pay the “youngins” to shoot. She further discussed finding a car for the shooters and said she did not want to “just dry shoot at windows.”

“You’re going to have some good news in the morning when you turn
on channel 13,” OMB Bloodbath told the gang leader the night before Johnson was murdered.

Upon further investigation, Houston Police Department (HPD) officers obtained search warrants for the suspects’ Instagram accounts, where they discovered conversations between OMB Bloodbath and some of the shooting suspects that preceded the murder of Sam Johnson.

OMB Bloodbath, who is signed to Love Renaissance and Interscope Records, has been indicted on a RICO charge for aiding and abetting the murder of Sam Johnson and other crimes committed by the 103 gang.

The case against OMB Bloodbath is ongoing.

EXCLUSIVE: Cop Who Made Rap Song About Killing People & Setting Them On Fire Claims Retaliation & Wrongful Termination

Hip-Hop news, crime

Controversy surrounding rap music has found its way into a legal dispute between Police Lieutenant Gregory Drew, the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA), and William J. Sheldon, a former CMHA police officer.

Sheldon, who is African-American, has filed a lawsuit alleging that he was retaliated against and wrongfully terminated by the CMHA, and Drew, who is Caucasian, because of his rap music, specifically his song “Headshot.”

According to Sheldon’s complaint, he had complained about racial disparities in his treatment at work. Months later, he reported matters of public concern and complained of harassment and retaliation by Drew.

Sheldon claims that as a result, the CMHA, under the color of state law, retaliated against him by terminating his employment and interfering with at least two different job opportunities he sought outside the CMHA.

The CMHA, in turn, upheld Drew’s retaliatory actions.

Drew allegedly targeted Sheldon for termination because “Headshot” depicted a mock shooting of a homeless person and violence.

Sheldon’s rap music could be classified as gangster rap, with lyrics depicting violence and sexual themes. However, Sheldon claims that his rap music was created on his own time, out of uniform, and off-duty, without any reference to the CMHA or his job as a police officer.

Sheldon’s supervisor, Sergeant Smiddy, had heard some of Sheldon’s music and encouraged him in his rap music production.

Sheldon had also shown some members of the CMHA Police Department his rap videos, which were published on YouTube. Some department members had even purchased copies of Sheldon’s rap videos.

However, Drew urged Chief Andres Gonzalez to act against Sheldon because of the videos, which were Shelton’s First Amendment speech.

Supervisors in the CMHA Police Department were aware of Sheldon’s music. However, before his termination, the CMHA or Chief Gonzalez informed Sheldon that his rap music or videos might violate CMHA policy or CMHA Police Department policies.

The CMHA and Drew have known since at least 2019 of Sheldon’s rap music content. The CMHA reviewed nearly twenty rap videos produced by Sheldon but only five, including “Headshot,” were considered as justification for his termination.

Sheldon claims that his termination by the CMHA was causally connected to his speech and EEO workplace harassment complaints. Following arbitration of whether Sheldon’s discharge was justified, Sheldon was reinstated to his CMHA police officer position on September 22, 2022.

However, he alleges that his employment opportunities with other law enforcement agencies have been negatively impacted by the actions of Drew and the CMHA, specifically citing how Drew showed Sheldon’s “Headshot” video to the City of Bedford Heights, Ohio, during the hiring process, which he claims negatively impacted his employment opportunity.

The legal dispute highlights the tension between free speech and employment and the controversial nature of rap music.

While Sheldon’s rap music and videos may be offensive to some, the First Amendment protects his right to express his ideas and thoughts through his music, even if it is not in line with the values of his employer.

It remains to be seen how the lawsuit will be resolved and its impact on the intersection of free speech and employment.

Rappers GloRilla and Finesse2tymes To Face Legal Action Over Tragic Concert Stampede

Rappers GloRilla and Finesse2tymes, along with promoters and concert venue the Main Street Armory, are facing a potential lawsuit from the family of Brandy Miller.

Three fans of the Memphis rappers were trampled to death on March 5th during the chaos that ensued after their concert in Rochester earlier this month.

Panic broke out when fans thought they heard gunshots at the Main Street Armory during the concert.

Several other people were injured as attendees rushed to leave the venue. However, police did not find any evidence of gunfire.

The rappers left the venue before the stampede, and at this time, neither artist is under criminal investigation for the incident.

Miller’s sister, Michelle, told TMZ that the family plans to sue and is in the process of retaining an attorney.

The Millers believe that Brandy’s death could have been prevented, and her brother, who was also at the concert, attested to the show’s pandemonium from the very beginning.

The Millers plan to retain a high-profile attorney and are not backing down from the lawsuit against GloRilla, Finesse2tymes, the promoters, and the Main Street Armory.

Unfortunately, Miller was not the only casualty of the stampede.

Aisha Stephens, who was hospitalized in critical condition after the chaos, passed away on March 8, becoming the third victim of the tragic incident.

Earlier that week, Rhondesia Belton was pronounced dead on March 6, and Brandy Miller passed away later that evening.

Despite the tragedy, GloRilla expressed her condolences to the victims’ families and fans in a Twitter post, saying, “I am devastated & heartbroken over the tragic deaths that happened after Sunday’s show. My fans mean the world to me. Praying for their families & for a speedy recovery of everyone affected.”

Nonetheless, the police are still investigating the deadly crowd stampede, and the venue has already had its license to operate revoked.

Donald Trump Is No. 1 At iTunes, Beating Out Rihanna, Coi Leray, Wiz Khalifa & Nicki Minaj

Donald Trump is known for a lot of things—business tycoon, television show host and that polarizing stint as the 45th President of the United States. But artist? Over the weekend, a track called “Justice For All” by Donald Trump and the J6 Prison Choir claimed the No. 1 spot at iTunes.

That’s right. He beat out songs such as Miley Cyrus’ monster single “Flowers,” Morgan Wallen’s doozy “Last Night,” Rihanna’s Black Panther juggernaut “Lift Me Up,” Coi Leray’s “Players,” Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” and Nicki Minaj’s “Red Ruby Da Sleeze.” That has to sting.

Donald Trump is arguably the most divisive person on the planet—you either love him or hate him. For those who fall in the latter category, the chart-topping track isn’t a good sign. Apparently a lot of people want to hear what he has to say. And Trump is counting on those people in 2024 when he runs for president—again.

As for the creation of the song, The J6 Prison Choir is comprised of a group of men who were convicted after their participation in the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. The song includes the choir singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” from jail before it climaxes with the convicts chanting “USA! USA!” The “Justice for All” track has the performance of the national anthem spliced with clips of President Trump reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

According to CNN, The J6 Prison Choir asked Trump to record his part for their upcoming song. Out of support for those incarcerated, Trump agreed and recorded the audio at his Mar-a-Lago residence.

Melle Mel Doesn’t Buy Drake As Top 10 Rapper Of All Time But Gives OVO Star Credit

Drake earned praise from Melle Mel, who faced backlash for polarizing opinions about several rappers.

Melle Mell continued to discuss Billboard’s best rappers of all time list in an interview with the Art Of Dialogue. The Hip-Hop pioneer thought it was wrong to rank Drake at No. 8 but admitted he enjoyed the Canadian superstar’s music.

“I think he writes good songs,” Melle Mel said. “I don’t listen to music a lot, I just hear what I hear in the club or just what I hear on the radio … I’ve been like, ‘I kind of like this song. Who wrote that song?’ And they say Drake. I tried to hate on him but he writes good songs. And not all of ‘em is rap but not all of ‘em have to be rap.”

He added, “He’s a talented guy. He knows how to write. And even if he don’t know how to write, he knows how to put the songs together.”

Melle Mel’s admiration for Drake didn’t change the legendary rapper’s stance on the OVO star’s place in Hip-Hop’s hierarchy. The Furious Five member believed the rankings were “sideways” and championed himself in the best rapper debate.

Listen to Melle Mel’s thoughts on Drake below.

Chance The Rapper Open To Country Music Collaboration

Chance the Rapper is looking forward to working with a country music artist.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday, Jimmy praised the rapper’s rock/country version of Nelly’s 2002 song “Hot in Herre” as part of his game show “That’s My Jam” in January 2022.

The talk show host then went on to question Chance – real name Chancelor Bennett – over whether he would consider making a country song.

“Maybe. My brain is moving fast,” he responded, to which Jimmy pointed out that the star shook his head as he replied.

“You know what, I would do it if I could do it with who I consider to be the most important country star of our time, the incomparable… Nelly. He’s an amazing artist. He made ‘Hot in Herre,’ which to me, is naturally a country song. He’s got some country classics,” Chance continued, also referring to Nelly’s 2004 track ‘Over and Over,’ which featured Tim McGraw. “I would do that in a second.”

Jimmy then asked Chance whether he was making a dig at his fellow “The Voice” coach, Blake Shelton.

“Blake is actually watching this right now and I was setting it up so he would feel that,” the 29-year-old smiled.

The 23rd season of “The Voice” kicked off on NBC earlier this week.

Is Nas Dating A 20-Year-Old “Plus Size” Model?

Nas is one of Hip-Hop’s most lauded lyricists, but his romantic relationships haven’t appeared to be too successful. Publicly, he’s really only spoken on one women—Kelis. The former couple was briefly married and had one child together, a son named Knight. Their contentious split and ongoing custody battle produced messy headlines and painful allegations. But it looks like Nas could possibly have love in his life.

Some savvy internet sleuths have pieced together two posts from Nas and Latina plus-size model Claudia Garcia, who appear to be vacationing in the Dominican Republic. While they haven’t posted any photos together, they are currently in the same location.

Of course, this might mean nothing. Maybe they’re just two people on separate trips posting photos about their experiences. But maybe not. Garcia’s parents are from the Dominican Republic, so perhaps Nas is meeting them for the first time? Time will tell.

Garcia is signed to Natural Beauty Management in Los Angeles. Check out some of her photos below.

KXNG Crooked Says Death Row Owes Him A Six-Figure Check

Rapper Crooked I, aka Kxng Crooked, took to social media to say that Death Row, the label that pays [me], owes him six figures.

The California-based lyricist, who was once a part of SlaughterHouse, responded to a tweet rapper and now label owner, Snoop Dogg posted on Friday, Mar. 10.

Snoop announced that Death Row Records was now live on Apple Music, but was retweeted by Crooked I saying, “I see the DysFunktional Family soundtrack I’m owed six figures for hmmm.”

The rapper has a long relationship with Death Row dating back to the 90s after he left his debut label, Virgin Records.

In 1999, he inked his first deal with the pioneering West Coast label, signing while Suge Knight, the CEO of the brand was incarcerated.

He said in Baller Status in 2004, “I signed in ’99, that’s more than 4 years ago. I turned in a lot of material and for whatever reason, it didn’t come out.”

He did put out music but did not catapult his career to its greatest heights. One of the songs he put out was his single, “Still Tha Row” from the DysFunktional Family soundtrack.

After leaving Death Row, he started his own label called Dynasty Entertainment, which was distributed by Universal.

The rapper and businessman has done well for himself, but now he wants his bread.

Snoop has not publicly commented on the owed wages— but is fixing some of the mess-ups made by his predecessors.

Mack 10 Explains Why He Hasn’t Spoken To Ice Cube In More Than 20 Years

Mack 10 and Ice Cube were once thick as thieves; not just as collaborative partners in Westside Connection but also friends. In fact, Ice Cube famously mentions him in the 1995 single “Friday,” rapping, “Mack 10 just got out of court/Rollin’ through the hood in his super sport bumping Too $hort.”

But times have changed. During a recent interview with The Bootleg Kev Podcast, Mack 10 touched on their relationship and admitted they haven’t spoken in nearly two decades.

“I f### with who f### with me, you dig?” he said. “That’s where I’m at with it. If you f### with me, I f### with you. But if it’s f### me, it’s f### you. I ain’t seen him or talked to him in damn near 20 years, so there it is.”

By all intents and purposes, it doesn’t seem like Ice Cube is “f######” with Mack 10. The 51-year-old shed some light on the situation during a 2020 interview with VladTV. He said the fallout boiled down to a financial conflict with Ice Cube’s brother-in-law.

“It was just an unfortunate situation, as far as what came out of all that,” he said. “It ain’t like that just happened … I went to Cube about four or five times before the conflict jumped off and told him to correct the situation. That’s the part that everybody leaves out.

“If it was my wife’s brother, I would’ve told him he can’t f### my money up and he can’t be out of line with nobody I’m getting down with. And if you got that big of a problem with him, stay at home. My wife’s brother wouldn’t have stopped s### for me, with him.”

Ice Cube formed Westside Connection in 1995 alongside Mack 10 and WC. The trio released their debut album, Bow Down, in 1996 on Priority Records. The project landed at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum by the RIAA. The group’s second album, Terrorist Threats, arrived in 2002 through Mack’s label, Hoo-Bangin’/Capitol. It ultimately went gold. Westside Connection disbanded in 2005 after Mack 10 quit.

Troy Ave Asks For Obama’s Help In Taxstone Murder Trial As Pair Spar Over Testimony

The upcoming murder trial, sure to determine the fate of Hip Hop influencer and podcaster Taxstone, is coming up and his rival, rapper Troy Ave, wants to make sure he is not set up for the crime. He also wants Taxstone to be put under the jail for as long as possible, reaching out to the former president, Barack Obama, to intervene.

“Dear @POTUS44 this Hater tryna frame the murder of MY FRIEND on Me. I’m innocent I boomed @ the hater off self defense! His Mans Caswell & Malcolm ate the 🧀 on him already! My new album gon be called “DEAR HATER I WON”  pre order uP MONDAY!,” the “All About the Money” rapper said.

But the social media jousting did not stop with him reaching out to the former president on Thursday, Mar. 9.

Taxstone tweeted from jail, “Can’t wait for this delusional lying ass bozo to testify on Monday !!!”

As if answering him, Troy Ave tweeted a day later on Friday, Mar. 10., “A call to action is crazy 🤣 “I can’t wait” Said the person with nothing but time 💀…his friends cooked him 🥩 VERY WELL DONE! I might jus bring the dessert , wat kind y’all want ⁉️😂😂😂😂 #UnSafeTho #BeSmartTho.”

As reported by AllHipHip.com, Troy Ave is expected to take the stand during the trial and testify regarding the fatal shooting of his bodyguard.

Prosecutors have revealed the state has two cooperating witnesses. Reports say Troy Ave and Malcom Kinyon, a drug dealer from Poughkeepsie, NY are working with the court.

Troy Ave signed a cooperation agreement with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office in 2017. People are calling him “ratatouille.”

The rivalry between the two has been chronicled in the streets and throughout Hip-Hop lore for years. It has also become deadly.

Please … leave President Obama out of this.

NYPD Mayor Eric Adams Under Fire Regarding Cardi B Invitation

The media tried to jam up New York’s mayor, Eric Adams for NYPD’s former Chief of Training and now the city’s new Probation Commissioner Juanita Holmes’s decision to not tell NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell she was bringing Cardi B in to talk to a Feb. 24 NYPD “Girls Talk” event at the police academy.

When asked about not just the lack of communication, but the decision, he said this  “was a continuation of what this commissioner has done. This is her style,” the Daily News reports.

People still pushed him on her going over her superior’s head to bring the rap star, who has been connected to some criminality— including affiliation with the Blood gang, in to speak with members of the force.

He said, “When she was a chief, and now as commissioner, she respects the chain of command. So I don’t have any worries because no one is being rewarded that’s broke the chain of command.”

During the press conference at City Hall, he actually joked about the flub, “The only disappointing aspect of you having Cardi B was that I wasn’t invited. The same reason you brought Cardi B is why people voted for me — because I was arrested. You don’t discard people.”

A few other voices have come out against the decision to have the Grammy-winning artist meet with the cadets.  One is Sal Greco, who said the invitation violated NYPD Patrol Guide which has a rule that bars police from associating with convicted felons.

Souls Of Mischief Puts Merch Thief On Blast After London Show: “You Are On Candid Camera!”

Souls of Mischief is currently amid a massive 93-date run in honor of the 30th anniversary of the group’s debut album, 93 Til Infinity. On Friday night (March 10), Hieroglyphics’ Phesto, Tajai, Opio and A-Plus put a merch thief on blast, who apparently swiped one of their tour jackets right off the stage. The incident took place at the Jazz Cafe in London, which has several cameras. Taking to Instagram, Souls of Mischief issued an ultimatum.

“Last night at @thejazzcafe in #London someone made a terrible decision and swiped one of our SOM tour jackets off the stage,” the caption read. “This person is not a fan of our legacy at all. Yes we have the video of the theft in our possession thanks to the wonderful staff here. The thieves (yes her too) have until tomorrow night at 8pm to return the jacket with it’s belongings or we will post and repost the clip to our media outlets and sincerely ask for all of our followers, family and friends to repost.

“Our footage of the theft is clear as day and we will do whatever it takes to identify (him/her) if you do NOT come forward. We have two more shows at this venue where we’ll also announce the thievery and bring awareness to what transpired with the intent to ID this cat.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/Cposk1qIdlK/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY%3D

Souls of Mischief announced the celebratory run last month. The international tour consists of 93 stops in cities such as Los Angeles, London, Berlin and Paris. It wraps up at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado on September 17.

“We are most looking forward to the camaraderie between ourselves and seeing so many people from so many places and walks of life come together around Hip Hop,” Tajai told AllHipHop. “We’ve done long tours in the past so running out of steam isn’t my concern. The show just improves and evolves. We prepare by rehearsing and making sure we eat right and get proper rest daily.”

93 ‘Til Infinity was released on September 28, 1993 via Jive Records. It peaked at No. 85 on the Billboard 200 and No. 17 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Since then, it’s evolved into an underground Hip-Hop classic. With production from fellow Hiero members Casual, Del The Funky Homosapien, Domino and, of course, A-Plus, the album was a staunch departure from the gangsta rap dominating the West Coast. It also gave the group its first Hot 100 hit after the title track reached No. 72 on the chart. Revisit “93 ‘Til Infinity” below and find more information here.

Coca-Cola Pulls Ja Morant Powerade Ad After Gun Brandishing Incident

Basketball player Ja Morant is realizing that regardless of his talent, all actions have consequences. Sources are saying one of his corporate partnerships is in jeopardy, after flashing a firearm on social media.

According to The Drum, Coca Cola has pulled Morant  Powerade ads after he made a social media post where he postured up with a gun at a Colorado strip club on Saturday, Mar. 4.

The significance of this move is the amount of money and resources the brand put into the sports drink’s largest campaign, “From Underestimated to Undeniable,” by dumping the ads with the NBA star.

The ads for the campaign no longer run on YouTube and all of the 60-second ad starring the baller has been made private on the company’s social platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

Up until now, for the incident, Morant has been penalized only by his team and has not been able to play.

The Memphis Grizzlies team has put out a statement on Twitter basically stating at least four more upcoming games, Morant will not be playing.

Other punishments coming up could be more severe, particularly now that the team’s coach Taylor Jenkins is publicly stating there have been issues with the young baller in the past, the Commercial Appeal reports.

“We have had conversations in the past trying to guide him and help him continue to evolve as a person and as a player,” Jenkins explained after his team’s game against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday, Mar. 9. “Obviously this came to a head the other day. It put this process into action.”

“The hope was that this would have never happened, and everything was as good as it should be, but there have been dialogues about what he’s got to do better and this just came to a head then,” Jenkins said.

So far the 23-year-old athlete has not been hit with criminal charges.

EXCLUSIVE: Nicki Minaj’s Husband Too Sick To Attend Mediation With Rape Accuser

Nicki Minaj married former flame Kenneth Petty in 2019, but he came with a seedy past. He served several years in prison for both manslaughter and first-degree attempted rape. His rape accuser, Jennifer Hough, sued the couple in 2021, claiming they consistently harassed her.

But according to docs obtained by AllHipHop, Petty won’t be sitting down for mediation anytime soon. As the paperwork explains, the court ordered all parties to mediation on March 6, but Petty fell ill. The meeting was rescheduled for March 9 but canceled again. Now, Petty and Minaj’s attorney, Steven D. Isser, is asking Judge James R. Cho for March 24.

“We respectfully request that the Court extend the mediation deadline to March 24, 2023, which will hopefully be sufficient time for Mr. Petty to recover and the for parties and the Mediator to
schedule a mutually available date for the mediation,” Isser writes. “Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

Petty was convicted of first-degree attempted rape in 1995. He served more than four years in prison. Hough accused Petty of trying to intimidate, harass and threaten her in an effort to make her recant the rape allegations. She sued Minaj too, saying she participated in the harassment campaign. Hough dropped her claims against Minaj earlier this year, but Petty remained as a defendant.

Nicki Minaj’s husband pleaded guilty to failing to register as a sex offender in 2021. A judge sentenced him to one year of home confinement and three years of probation in July. Petty pursued legal action against the State of New York and the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services over his sex offender status.

Joe Budden Fires Back At Peter Rosenberg For Defending Logic

Podcaster Joe Budden has made it clear that he is not a fan of Logic. Hot 97 radio personality Peter Rosenberg came to the Maryland-raised rapper’s defense on social media.

On this week’s “Flag On The Play” episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, the titular host criticized Logic’s cover of Ice Cube’s classic “It Was a Good Day” single. Budden even called for the College Park album creator to quit the music business.

“Logic, I beg of you, I’m pleading with you. Please join me in retirement,” said Joe Budden. “Never step near a recording device again. Throw your phone in the ocean. Be allergic to microphones. Promise your fans nothing.”

The New Jersey native added, “Don’t go to the studio ever again. You are the worst. You are really, really bad. And then when we think he can’t get any worse, you have the bright idea of doing an Ice Cube flip.”

Joe Budden’s critical comments about Logic became a topic of discussion on Twitter. Peter Rosenberg reacted to Budden by pointing out some of the commercial success of the two-time Grammy nominee.

“Logic has TWO Billboard Number 1 albums… 3 platinum albums, 1 gold album, and a nearly diamond single… sorry [Joe Budden] – I love ya… And the Ice cube cover was not a great choice .. but he has done way too well in music for you to tell him anything,” tweeted Rosenberg.

Joe Budden & Peter Rosenberg Clashed In The Past

In actuality, Logic has three chart-toppers on the Billboard 200 chart. 2017’s Everybody, 2018’s Bobby Tarantino II, and 2019’s Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind topped the weekly album rankings.

The Recording Industry Association of America certified Logic’s “1-800-273-8255” featuring Alessia Cara and Khalid as 8x-Platinum. That 2017 collaboration also peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart.

Joe Budden responded to the University of Maryland alumnus showing support for Logic. The retired emcee tweeted, “Love you too Pete but by this ‘logic,’ you shouldn’t be telling me anything about podcasting 🤷🏾‍♂️ 🤗.”

Peter Rosenberg and Joe Budden have a long history as frenemies. Budden infamously walked out of a 2016 interview with Hot 97. Plus, Rosenberg claimed he played a role in the creation of The Joe Budden Podcast.

In 2021, Peter Rosenberg blamed Joe Budden for his former co-hosts Rory Farrell and Jamil “Mal” Clay leaving The Joe Budden Podcast on bad terms. Last year, Budden fired back at Rosenberg after the WWE panelist complained about his Juan Ep Is Life podcast charting lower than Budden’s bi-weekly audio series on Apple Music.

Hip Hop Travels to Outer Space for Education and Makes History

Dr. Kamran Rashid Khan, also known as Lazarus, is ready to make world history by becoming the first music artist to debut his song from the International Space Station. Lazarus is a Detroit-based rapper who frequently tours with Wu-Tang Clan along with being a practicing physician who treated patients throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. He has now teamed up with Dr. James Green, former NASA Chief Scientist, to bring the first song in music to realistically and accurately describe space travel from the point of view of an astronaut.

The project is being carried out in partnership with Metavisionaries, SpaceOMIX, Ice Cubes Technologies and Project Maleth III for the purposes of education on medical topics such as Diabetes and the effects of microgravity on diabetic foot ulcers. The song “Pale Blue Dot” by Lazarus will serve as an educational tool to bring awareness to the science of space travel.

Hip Hop turned 50 this year as celebrated at the 2023 Grammy Awards. In a recent live Instagram broadcast with Dr. James Green, Lazarus discusses the power of Hip Hop over the years. “Hip Hop as a form of music has always been there for the art of expression and to bring awareness to subject matters. And now utilizing Hip Hop we can speak on topics like space travel, what’s going on in outer space, terraforming, insights we can gain about pollution, crops, agriculture.”
