Plies Drops Copyright Lawsuit—Soulja Boy Wastes No Time Trolling Him

Soulja Boy wasted no time rubbing salt into Plies’ wounds on social media Monday after the Florida rapper dropped his copyright infringement lawsuit, reigniting their fiery feud.

The outspoken “Crank That” hitmaker shared a screenshot of a report revealing that Plies voluntarily dismissed the lawsuit without prejudice.

Never one to mince words, Soulja Boy trolled Plies over the decision.

“Just like I thought,” he captioned the post. “Sit yo lil broke ass down n####. This my s### dummy.”

The legal drama began in November 2024 when Plies filed a lawsuit in California federal court against Soulja Boy, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion and GloRilla.

Plies claimed that GloRilla’s song “Wanna Be” illegally sampled his 2008 track “Me & My Goons.”

Adding fuel to the fire, Plies also accused Soulja Boy’s 2010 smash hit “Pretty Boy Swag” of initially using the unauthorized sample, demanding damages and a jury trial.

Soulja Boy immediately fired back at the allegations, calling Plies a “liar” and a “snitch” during a heated Instagram Live session.

Insisting that his song was completely original, he mocked Plies’ accusations as an attention-seeking tactic. Soulja even suggested that the rapper rename himself “Lies.”

Soulja Boy also questioned Plies’ motives, questioning why the rapper waited 14 years to pursue legal action.

The lawsuit lingered for roughly four months until Plies unexpectedly withdrew his claims on March 13, 2025, per Rolling Stone

Court records show no settlement was reached. However the case was dismissed “without prejudice,” and Plies could refile in the future.

Tracy Morgan Throws Up Courtside, 50 Cent Cracks Joke

Tracy Morgan experienced a frightening medical episode at Madison Square Garden Monday night while attending the New York Knicks game.

The comedian, a familiar face courtside at Knicks games, suddenly fell ill during the matchup between the hometown Knicks and the Miami Heat.

Online footage captured Morgan slumped forward in his courtside seat, visibly distressed and vomiting, as medical personnel swiftly surrounded him.

50 Cent posted an image showing the “30 Rock” actor bent over, in the middle puking all over the court in the unexpected incident.

Eyewitnesses at the arena described a troubling scene, stating that Morgan appeared disoriented, was bleeding from his nose and “could barely stand up.”

Arena medics quickly intervened, carefully placing the comedian into a wheelchair before escorting him out of the crowded venue. The episode prompted officials at Madison Square Garden to pause play for nearly 10 minutes as Morgan received crucial medical assistance.

Tracy Morgan has faced significant health challenges over the years.

The actor openly discussed his battle with diabetes, endured a kidney transplant in 2010, and survived critical injuries from a devastating car accident in June 2014.

That crash left him hospitalized and in a coma for eight days, requiring extensive rehabilitation.

Despite these past struggles, Morgan has maintained an active presence in entertainment, regularly attending sporting events and performances across New York.

His support for the Knicks has made him a staple at Madison Square Garden, frequently spotted cheering courtside and interacting with players and fellow attendees.

British Rap Star Wretch 32 Unveils “Home?” Album Release Date & New Single

Wretch 32 has announced a release date for his highly anticipated album Home?.

The British rap heavyweight announced the news in a heartfelt Instagram post Monday (March 17).

“Can’t believe I’m saying this,” he wrote, “but my 6th album Home? is available for pre-order now!!! Celebrating my 40th birthday recently put so much into perspective, I’m alive, I’m healthy & for just that im grateful….”

The album, Wretch 32’s seventh studio effort, is set for release May 2, and is a thoughtful exploration of his identity, legacy and roots. Accompanying the announcement, Wretch released a new single titled “Like Home,” featuring Teni.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, Wretch 32 opened up about the themes driving Home? .

“I think the word that comes to mind is ‘displacement’,” he said, describing the project. “For anyone who feels like: ‘I’m here, but am I accepted here? Or am I just tolerated here?’ Anyone who is in the middle of that, this record is for you.”

“Home?” follows the rapper’s 2021 album, Little Big Man, and his powerful lead single “Black And British,” released last October, during Britain’s Black History Month.

The track, featuring Little Simz and Benjamin A.D., delves deep into the complexities surrounding the Black British experience, cultural identity, heritage and intergenerational trauma.

The song includes a sample featuring Wretch 32’s grandmother, Beverley Scott, from the 1988 documentary Scenes From The Farm.

The film captures the aftermath of the 1985 riots at Tottenham’s Broadwater Farm estate, sparked by the death of Cynthia Jarrett, an Afro-Caribbean woman who tragically died of heart failure amid a police search of her home.

In his Instagram post, Wretch 32 further expressed his deep connection to the album’s themes

“[Music] gave me purpose, it allowed me to release, to vent, to tell stories, our story & my own,’ he added. “Home? is just that, our story the Windrush story, the Immigreat story!  If you’ve ever yearned to feel at home where you live I wrote this searching for mine with you in mind.️”

Cardi B Thirsts After “Baddies Midwest” Stars—Makes Provocative Offer

Cardi B stirred up social media chatter after making an explicit proposal involving two stars from the reality show Baddies Midwest during a lively Instagram Live session.

The outspoken Hip-Hop star didn’t hold back while watching the popular Zeus Network reality series live online. Cardi shared her appreciation for cast members Big Lex and Ivori in a rather suggestive manner.

“They both could run a train on me,” Cardi declared during an Instagram Live session Monday (March 17). Ivori and Lex, one of them could suck my p####, the other one could suck my t####.”

This eyebrow-raising moment isn’t the first time Cardi B has shown admiration for the Baddies stars.

Back in March, Natalie Nunn, the show’s executive producer and star, revealed that Cardi B was an avid viewer. Nunn specifically mentioned Cardi’s fondness for the two cast members she lusted for.

“Cardi kept repeating that she loves Big Lex and also said she loves Ivori,” Nunn stated in March.

The provocative comments come as the Grammy-winning rapper navigates a complicated personal life.

Cardi B filed for divorce from her husband, Offset, in August 2024, but the couple have not finalized their split. Following the split, Cardi sparked dating rumors after being spotted spending time with NFL player Stefon Diggs, fueling speculation about her current relationship status.

Meanwhile, Cardi B continues to work on her highly anticipated album. The project is set for release in 2025, featuring at least 20 tracks.

While the official title remains unannounced, possible names include Defamation of Character or Intrusive Thoughts.

After years of delays since its originally planned 2020 release, Cardi promised to deliver the album in 2025.

Suge Knight Reignites Dark Conspiracy Theory About Eazy-E’s Death

Suge Knight reignited controversy surrounding Eazy-E during a provocative jailhouse interview with The Art of Dialogue podcast, revisiting his eyebrow-raising comments about the late rapper’s death from AIDS.

Two decades after his infamous 2003 appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” where Knight cryptically implied that Eazy-E was intentionally injected with AIDS-tainted blood, the former Death Row Records boss was directly asked if his sinister statement held any truth.

Knight refused to explicitly confirm or deny the allegations, citing his unwillingness to “incriminate myself.”

Instead, he doubled down by questioning how someone could appear perfectly healthy, showing “no signs of being” ill, only to succumb to AIDS complications.

In the candid conversation, Suge Knight recounted the timeline leading up to Eazy-E’s hospitalization, recalling how Eazy and his manager, Jerry Heller, had initially sought a simple medical checkup.

“They give him a physical,” Knight explained. “They said they think something wrong with him. He in the hospital stuck. Next thing you know, Eric got a shot.”

He further described the mysterious injection as “something simple” like B12, adding ominously, “Next thing you know, they say Eric got AIDS. Next thing you know, he’s a dead muthafucka.”

A post shared by The Art Of Dialogue (@theartofdialogue)

Knight and Eazy-E had a notoriously complicated relationship dating back to the early 1990s, rooted deeply in business drama and personal rivalries. Knight reportedly used aggressive tactics to free Dr. Dre from Eazy-E’s Ruthless Records contract, including alleged threats against Eazy’s family and claims of kidnapping Heller.

Following Knight’s original 2003 remarks, both Eazy-E’s daughter and N.W.A. bandmate Ice Cube firmly denied speculation linking Knight to the rapper’s death.

Knight didn’t stop at Eazy-E. He took aim at the entertainment industry as a whole, asserting that “most of Hollywood” and countless entertainment figures “got AIDS or some type of sexual disease.”

Kanye West Urges Kendrick Lamar To Diss Him In “Meet The Grahams”-Style Track

Kanye West is calling out Kendrick Lamar, urging the Compton native to diss him on a “Meet The Grahams”-style track.

On Monday night (March 17),  West took aim at Lamar amid a lengthy rant aimed at friends and collaborators. He pushed K. Dot to diss him on behalf of Universal Music Group (UMG) CEO Lucien Grainge.

His post was sparked by a fan claiming West needs Lamar “to give you your very own ‘meet the grahams’.”

Further taunting Lamar, West tweeted, “I HAAAAAATED NOT LIKE US.”

West also mentioned Grainge, who he previously referred to as Drake’s “rich baby daddy,” in another post targeting Future and Metro Boomin.

“THESE N##### CALLED ME TO GET ON THE LIKE THAT REMIX,” he wrote. “THEN AFTER I MENTIONED LUCIEN GRANGE THEY DIDNT PICK UP MY CALL OR PUT THE SONG ON DSPs.”

Earlier on Monday, Kanye West launched a scathing tirade against his former friends and collaborators, including Ty Dolla $ign, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, and the late Virgil Abloh, accusing them of betrayal and industry manipulation.

His outburst was triggered by Playboi Carti asking Kim Kardashian for a North West feature, which West vehemently opposed.

He reignited antisemitic rhetoric, called out Pusha T and Ty Dolla $ign for distancing themselves, and accused Tyler, The Creator of lacking originality.

Kanye West Doesn’t Like Kendrick Lamar’s Playboi Carti Verse

Earlier this week, Kanye West criticized Kendrick Lamar’s appearance on Playboi Carti’s MUSIC album.

“I DON’T LIKE KENDRICK LAMAR’S MUSIC,” he tweeted. “HE RAPS VERY GOOD BUT I DIDN’T NEED TO HEAR HIM ON CARTI ALBUM.”

However, despite his criticism and calling for Lamar to diss him, Kanye West previously stated, “If you rap against Kendrick, you will lose.”

Nonetheless, West insisted he was the only man capable of defeating Kendrick Lamar in a battle and claimed he was “the greatest that ever existed.”

Kanye West Turns On Collaborators; Rips Ty Dolla $ign, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott & More In Fiery Rant

Kanye West unleashed on his friends and collaborators—including Ty Dolla $ign, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, and the late Virgil Abloh—accusing them of using him in a scathing rant.

West’s Monday night (March 17) tirade was sparked by an Instagram post from Carti asking Kim Kardashian to send him a song from North West after the reality TV mogul showed love to him for the Skims shout on in his MUSIC album.

However, an enraged West insisted, “NORTH WONT BE DOING ANY SONGS WITH CARTI.”

He recently claimed  “the Jewish industry mob” shut down a CARTI YE joint project in yet another antisemitic rant. At the time, he claimed, “Carti ain’t do nothing wrong,” but the Atlanta rapper’s request for a North feature rubbed him the wrong way.

“HOW IT LOOK FOR ME TO GET LEFT OFF THE ALBUM AND THEN HE ASK KIM TO HAVE VOCALS FROM MY DAUGHTER,” West wrote. “I DONT A F### ABOUT NONE OF THIS INDUSTRY S###.”

He continued, warning, “NOBODY GET A PASS,” in another hateful post.

“I WAS A PART OF SO MANY OF THESE N##### SUCCESS,” he added. “A LOT OF N##### LET THE JEWS CONTROL THEM.”

West then called out Pusha T for distancing himself from Ye’s political opinions and Ty Dolla $ign for denouncing hate speech.

“I HATE ALL THESE N#####,” he declared. “DO YOUR F###### DISS SONGS OR PULL UP.”

He shared Ty’s IG Story post, writing “I DONT NEED TO BE CONDONED,” before directing his attack to other friends and past collaborators.

West posted photos of him hugging Virgil Abloh, Travis Scott, Kid Cudi and Playboi Carti. He claimed they “ALL TURNED THEY BACK WHEN I SPOKE THE TRUTH.”

Kanye West Says Future Stopped Talking His Calls Over “Like That” Remix

West then blasted Tyler, The Creator, claiming he “HAS NEVER MADE A MEMORABLE SONG.” He also alleged, “HIS LAST ALBUM RIPPED OFF MY WHOLE LANGUAGE.”

The divisive rapper didn’t spare Future or Metro Boomin either. Kanye West accused them of shelving his “Like That” remix because he called out Universal Music Group CEO Lucien Grainge.

Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian is reportedly gearing up to challenge West’s joint legal custody status after the controversial release of a song featuring North West, without Kardashian’s consent. The embattled music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, accused of multiple assaults, features on the track.

Kim Kardashian Considers Custody Change After Ye Releases Song With 11-Year-Old Daughter & Diddy

Kim Kardashian is reportedly gearing up to challenge Kanye West’s joint legal custody status after the controversial release of a song featuring their daughter, North West, without Kardashian’s consent.

West—now legally known as Ye—ignored Kardashian’s strong objections and released a track titled “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine,” prominently featuring their 11-year-old daughter, North.

According to reports, Kardashian is now contemplating asking a judge to revoke Ye’s joint decision-making rights as tensions escalate between the former couple.

The celebrity duo, who tied the knot back in 2014, officially finalized their divorce settlement in 2022. Under that agreement, they share joint physical and legal custody of their four children: North, 11; Saint, 9; Chicago, 7; and Psalm, 5.

While physical custody has reportedly never been a major sticking point—sources claim the rapper rarely spends time with his children.

And after his antics this weekend, joint legal custody, especially regarding crucial parental decisions, has now become a battleground for the couple, which Ye predicted when he said he was ready to go to “war” with Kim.

Under their divorce terms, any conflicts over significant decisions involving their children require Kardashian and Ye to attend a private judicial hearing alongside their attorneys and a mediator.

When Kardashian learned of his plans to release the controversial track featuring North and embattled music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs – who is accused of raping multiple men and women, she swiftly sought an emergency meeting to voice her vehement opposition.

Though Kardashian, her legal team, a mediator and a judge convened as stipulated, Ye notably skipped the session.

He said he would refrain from dropping the disputed song despite his absence. Yet, just a day later, the rapper abruptly changed course and defiantly released the track to his followers on social media platform X, accompanying it with the instigating statement that men “make the final decision.”

Ye’s unexpected behavior last weekend reportedly prompted Kardashian to seek a judge’s intervention to permanently curtail Ye’s involvement in parental decision-making.

Lil Durk Announces Release Date For New Album While Locked Up

Lil Durk remains behind bars yet continues dropping new music with his upcoming album Deep Thoughts set to arrive on March 28, 2025, even as he awaits trial in a high-profile murder-for-hire case.

The Chicago rapper, currently detained at the Los Angeles Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC), announced the project via a video teaser shared on social media platform X.

Deep Thoughts, set for release through Only The Family (OTF), Alamo Records and Sony Music, follows his previous solo offering Almost Healed and the OTF collective’s collaboration Nightmares in the Trenches.

The forthcoming LP features previously released singles like “Turn Up a Notch” and “Monitoring Me.”. Durk expressed excitement about the album’s potential directly in the teaser.

“I like the energy and what y’all are putting together. Even the list of songs y’all sent me is good, so I know y’all putting better changes on that s###, so I know it’s going to be bigger and better,” Lil Durk said in the promo clip.

But the artist’s musical output unfolds as he faces serious accusations that could potentially lead to life imprisonment.

Lil Durk was arrested on charges alleging his involvement in a murder-for-hire plot linked to the 2022 killing of Saviay’a Robinson, cousin of fellow rapper Quando Rondo.

Prosecutors claim that Durk orchestrated the hit as revenge against Rondo, whom he allegedly blamed for the 2020 death of King Von.

Court documents accuse Durk of offering substantial cash and “lucrative music opportunities” to anyone willing to target Quando Rondo.

Additionally, authorities claim Durk financed efforts aimed at silencing potential witnesses, further complicating the high-stakes case against the rapper.

Initially scheduled to begin on January 7, 2025, the court has now rescheduled proceedings to start October 14, 2025, so prosecutors and defense attorneys additional time to prepare, given the complexity and gravity of the charges.

Richie Rich, Larry June And Curren$y Give The Coolest Song All Year

Richie Rich‘s latest release, “Back From Aspen,” featuring Larry June and Curren$y, is a chilled-out, effortless jam combining three of rap’s most effortlessly charismatic voices. Each artist offers contemplative bars on their affluent lifestyles, yet maintains an authentic connection to the grind. Directed visually by @jaesynth and sonically crafted by JPZ, the track flows comfortably at a leisurely 90 BPM, ideal for easy cruising. With an easygoing intensity level set at midrange, the track remains laid-back yet engaging enough to hold your attention.

Richie Rich leads off with his trademark mellow delivery, vividly capturing neighborhood scenes of rumbling dual exhausts and vintage cars grabbing attention. Lines such as, “Bout to slide up on my homie June and spark this dough,” perfectly encapsulate the chill yet street-conscious mood, always hinting at potential danger as Richie calmly notes, “Sun shining, should’ve brought protection out.” He comfortably navigates the juxtaposition of newfound luxury and his gritty origins.

Larry June follows with his signature relaxed confidence, casually referencing excursions to Aspen, luxury upgrades like heated driveways, and executing successful moves from city blocks to plush neighborhoods. Clever quips such as, “Don’t stress me, player, stress that dashboard light,” highlight Larry’s laid-back wit, further amplifying his widespread appeal. His verse naturally meshes with Richie’s, blending aspiration with hustle effortlessly.

Curren$y delivers his distinctively chill perspective, casually rhyming about expensive fuel and slow-rolling in his classic SS Chevy. Verses like, “Too wealthy for complaining, so I coast,” perfectly showcase the track’s ethos—a relaxed attitude towards life’s pressures and an unwavering commitment to prosperity. His love for classic rides, high-end comforts, and timeless fashion resonates clearly, staying true to his roots.

“Back From Aspen” effortlessly reflects the rewards of success without losing sight of the persistent hustle required to achieve it. With silky production, seamless verses, and a theme centered around embracing life on one’s own terms—whether navigating city streets or returning refreshed from Aspen—the track epitomizes refined yet grounded hip-hop.

Jonathan Majors Scandal Erupts As Alleged Audio Admitting To Assault Of Ex-Girlfriend Surfaces

Jonathan Majors faces yet another scandal linked to the assault case involving his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in which he was found guilty in last April.

On Monday (March 17), Rolling Stone published an alleged audio recording of Majors appearing to admit to physically abusing Jabari. According to the report, the origin of the audio dates back to 2022, when Majors lived with Jabbari in London as she filmed a Disney+ series.

The couple had purportedly been fighting for days, after which Majors is accused of slamming Jabbari into a car and strangling her. While Jabbari confronts Majors about the attack on the alleged audio, Majors allegedly admits to being “aggressive” with her— something which he claims he’s never done with another woman.

“I’m ashamed I’ve ever,” Majors begins in the alleged audio. “I’ve never [been] aggressive with a woman before. I’ve never aggressed a woman — I aggressed you.”

Jabbari chimes in, saying, “You strangled me and pushed me against the car,” to which Majors allegedly responds, “Yes, all those things are under aggressed, yeah.” Majors doubled down, adding, “That’s never happened to me.”

Elsewhere in the recording, Jabbari claims the root of the attack was centered in her own “sarcastic” rhetoric to Majors, which he denies.

“Well clearly, it’s more than that,” Majors says, prompting Jabbari to repsond, saying, “Something inside of you.” Majors replied, “Yeah, towards you,” as the recording ends.

An attorney for Jabbari declined to comment on the audio clip.

Majors was arrested in New York in March 2023 following an altercation with Jabbari in the back of a vehicle. A jury found the Creed actor guilty of assaulting and harassing Jabbari and a judge sentenced Majors to attend domestic violence counseling. Additionally, Jabbari dropped her federal assault and defamation lawsuit against Majors in November of 2024. Majors and Jabbari reportedly filed a joint notice with the court on November 21 via their attorneys, affirming that the lawsuit was “hereby dismissed with prejudice.”

The alleged audio of Majors surfaces amid the arrival of his upcoming film Magazine Dreams which is due out March 21. On top of that, the clip follows Majors recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, during which he opened up about the childhood abuse trauma he suffered from.

Majors described the lasting emotional scars left by childhood sexual abuse, confessing the experiences deeply impacted his emotional well-being.

“I dealt with sexual abuse from both men and women from the time I was nine,” Majors explained. “From people who are supposed to look after you, in the absence of a father. I was f##### up.”

JK Rowling Accuses Azealia Banks Of Clout Chasing In Beef Over Trans-Rights

JK Rowling confronted rapper Azealia Banks over social media drama, accusing her of exploiting domestic abuse for likes online.

The heated exchange started after Banks seemingly mocked Rowling’s controversial views about Trans-rights by retweeting a post praising the Harry Potter author’s past.

“Maybe her husband at 27 cheated on her with a Trannylicious diva and that’s why she’s dedicated every waking moment to making sure her life’s legacy is dedicated to harassing people who make up less than 1% of the global population,” Azealia Banks snarled.

Azealia Banks, well-known for her online behavior and feuds with fellow celebrities, misjudged Rowling’s willingness to clap back. Rowling openly addressed her own experience with domestic abuse.

“It’s a matter of public record that my first husband beat me up, but you got the likes, Azealia, and I hope they were worth it,” Rowling tweeted directly at Banks.

Rowling has increasingly found herself at the center of public backlash due to her outspoken positions on gender identity and other sensitive topics.

The rapper’s original post, which set off Rowling’s response, quickly sparked a variety of replies and some backlash in a flurry of comments from X users.

Ja Rule Drags Longtime Foe 50 Cent Into Debate About LeBron & Bronny James

Ja Rule is all for the ideology behind creating Black privilege, with the exception of doing so in the realm of sports.

During a recent appearance on the Tap In With TT podcast, Ja Rule pushed back against the idea that LeBron James’ efforts get Bronny into the NBA were actually beneficial to his son and or the Black community as a whole.

While discussing his constant efforts to normalize his kid’s acceptance of the affluent circumstances of their family, Ja Rule explained the the issue he has with Bronny being in the NBA. By his standards, nepotism is fine anywhere but professional sports.

“Here’s the problem,” Ja Rule said in part. “If we talking entertainment, if we talking business, no problem. We talk in any other, you know, it’s a facet of business. We’re talking sports. We’re talking athletics where you can’t hide.

“You can’t push somebody to the forefront of athletics and say, he’s the guy. You can’t do that because you got to prove it on the court. Okay. You got to prove it. You got to actually go be the guy.”

Ja Rule used an analogy referencing his longstanding feud with 50 Cent as he continued. In doing so, he alluded to his love of the world of athletics being rooted in the fact that it is truly a merit-based industry, unlike that of the world of entertainment.

“That’s why I love athletics so much,” he said. “Because I can be the hardest working muthafucka in this industry and then f###### doing the greatest s###, killing it, putting up records people love, and then 50 Cent comes out, s###’s on me. Everybody says, ‘Oh, we like him better than Ja Rule now.’

“I put in the work. I worked the hardest. I’m still going to work the hardest. I’m still going to be great. But that opinion, I can’t change from people because I can’t go just go be great.”

Adding fuel to the fire, Ja Rule further stoked the flames of the greatest of all time (G.O.A.T.) debate by using yet another analogy comparing Kobe Bryant’s response to his sexual assault scandal to the situation at-large.

“When people hated on Kobe Bryant because of the rape case and s###, Kobe said, ‘OK, I’m going to give you mutherfuckas 55 every night,'” he said. “‘Y’all can hate on me, but it don’t change. Nothing else outside of that changes for me. I’m still Kobe Bryant,’ the great Kobe Bryant that puts 55 on your head when I want to. That’s the difference. So Bronny’s going through a situation in athletics where you can’t hide.

“Steph Curry ain’t good on defense. You can’t hide that. He’s an amazing f###### shooter, but they try to hide him on defense, but you can’t…Sometimes you get cooked. You just can’t hide where you have deficiencies in athletics.”

Drake’s Legal Team Is Confident Lawsuit Will Move Forward Because UMG Is “Greedy” & “Desperate”

Drake’s legal counsel has swiftly responded to Universal Music Group’s (UMG) motion to dismiss his lawsuit over his claims regarding Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” diss track.

On Monday (March 17), AllHipHop obtained a statement from Drake’s lead attorney Michael Gottlieb pushing back on the 32-page legal document UMG filed in which it categorized Drake’s lawsuit as an “unfounded complaint.”

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

In the explosively stern, yet concise, statement Gottlieb released in response, the lawyer outright called out UMG for attempting to “distract” shareholders and others from their true actions. In doing so, Gottlieb described UMG as a “greedy” company profiting from misinformation and accused the company of causing far more serious conflicts, as a result.

“UMG wants to pretend that this is about a rap battle in order to distract its shareholders, artists and the public from a simple truth: a greedy company is finally being held responsible for profiting from dangerous misinformation that has already resulted in multiple acts of violence,” Gottlieb’s statement reads in part.

As the statement continues, Gottlieb claims UMG is “desperate” and brazenly boasts the “confidence” Drake’s legal team has that the lawsuit will continue to move forward.

“This motion is a desperate ploy by UMG to avoid accountability, but we have every confidence that this case will proceed and continue to uncover UMG’s long history of endangering, abusing and taking advantage of its artists,” the statement concludes.

UMG’s legal filing moving to dismiss Drake’s lawsuit follows the Canadian MC agreeing to to scale back portions of the suit, last month. Drake initially accused UMG of inflating the song’s success using artificial streaming tactics, bots and other actions he claims not only tarnished his reputation but also put his safety at risk in the wake of Kendrick branding him a “certified pedophile.” However, in accordance with UMG’s legal team’s lead attorney Rollin A. Ransom, the label previously formally requested that a hearing regarding the lawsuit scheduled for April 2, 2025, be postponed, due to their plans to file a motion to dismiss by March 17.

In the introductory of the 32-page legal filing, UMG wasted no time in addressing what they see as an unfounded complaint.

“Plaintiff, one of the most successful recording artists of all time, lost a rap battle that he provoked and in which he willingly participated,” the motion states. “Instead of accepting the loss like the unbothered rap artist he often claims to be, he has sued his own record label in a misguided attempt to salve his wounds.”

Lefty Gunplay Held In Jail On $500K Bond; Next Court Date Set

Lefty Gunplay missed his Rolling Loud set Sunday (March 16) after authorities detained him on a mysterious felony warrant just minutes before he was supposed to hit the stage, adding another troubling chapter to the rapper’s rough month.

The rising Hip-Hop star, who was set to perform at 5:45 p.m. on the D’USSÉ Stage at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California, was instead escorted away by cops, leaving concertgoers stunned and confused.

Footage quickly spread across social media platforms as police placed him under arrest backstage.

Festival organizers confirmed the incident, issuing a brief statement informing attendees that Lefty Gunplay would not perform due to circumstances beyond their control.

The rapper is currently being held on a $500,000 bond, but the exact reason behind his felony charge remains undisclosed.

This latest run-in with the law marks Lefty Gunplay’s second arrest in less than a month. Just weeks prior, on February 24, 2025, the rapper was apprehended during a routine traffic stop near 6351 Gateway West in El Paso, Texas.

Authorities initially found cocaine on the vehicle’s driver, Rennell Cordova, before finding roughly 64.96 grams of methamphetamine hidden on Lefty Gunplay himself during a subsequent body scan at the El Paso County Detention Facility.

Following that incident, Lefty Gunplay secured his release the same day by posting a $35,000 bond.

However, the seriousness of the drug possession allegations he faces in Texas could potentially result in severe consequences, including up to 20 years behind bars and fines reaching $10,000 if he is convicted.

Lefty Gunplay was already buzzing, but he was catapulted into the spotlight after appearing on Kendrick Lamar’s GNX album. The rapper’s collaboration with Lamar, “TV Off,” peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100.

The track solidified Lefty’s status as one of Hip-Hop’s most promising and sought-after talents.

Lefty Gunplay’s next court date is set for Tuesday (March 18).

50 Cent, Yung Miami, Dawn From En Vogue: Let The Rumors Begin

50 Cent might’ve just landed the ultimate collab! Does Fif have a new, bouncing baby girl? If the internet sleuths are reading between the lines correctly, he might. Hip-Hop’s king of controversy has long been vocal about his desire to raise a daughter after fathering two sons. Now, a recent image buzzing around Instagram seems to hint strongly that Curtis Jackson could finally have a tiny queen in his court. Social media is trying to put it together, but we don’t know yet. Yung Miami Cooperated?

Meanwhile, the plot thickens with Yung Miami, who somehow dodged that Diddy legal drama! She’s like Neo dodging bullets in “The Matrix.” Sheesh! Diddy’s ex-jawn, concubine City Girl popped back onto our timelines! She clapped those cheeks for all to see. Her and Fif seem to have something going on, but I can’t tell what yet. Her return has the streets buzzing. Anybody think she’s cooperating? I don’t pass judgment, but this level of comfort usually follows someone knowing they’re untouchable. The former EnVogue and Lucy Pearl vocalist is no stranger to group drama, but her personal life is coming into the rumors. And it feels even more complicated than her professional mess. Her former spouse of ten years has spilled an unbelievable cup of tea! This is HOT. He detailed Dawn’s alleged mental health struggles and claims she has chosen intentional homelessness. UMG Calls Drake’s Lawsuit “Misguided Attempt To Salve His Wounds” After Kendrick Lamar Loss

Drake’s legal battle against Universal Music Group (UMG) has taken yet another turn following the record label’s latest legal filing.

According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, UMG filed a motion on Monday (March 17) to dismiss the lawsuit Drake filed against the label over his claims about the Kendrick Lamar’s ”Not Like Us” diss track.

The court documents detail how the highly publicized feud between Drake and Lamar escalated in the spring of 2024, resulting in the release of nine diss tracks between them. UMG points out that Drake actively encouraged the back-and-forth, even dropping an extra diss when he felt Lamar was taking too long to respond.

UMG further highlights Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” as a cultural phenomenon, stating that it was the best-selling rap song of 2024, won multiple Grammys (including Record of the Year and Song of the Year) and even became part of the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show. Additionally remarking on the fact that the song’s impact was so massive that Saturday Night Live included it in its 50th anniversary special.

UMG’s motion to dismiss Drake’s lawsuit follows yet another major development in the Canadian MC‘s legal pursuit. Earlier this month, Drake reached a settlement with Texas-based iHeartMedia over the dispute concerning “Not Like Us.” In a court filing, Drake’s attorneys confirmed that the rapper and iHeartMedia had “reached an amicable resolution of the dispute,” but provided no additional details, per the outlet. “We are pleased that both parties have reached a mutually satisfactory settlement and have no further comment on the matter.”

Drake’s initial legal petition was filed in November 2024 in Bexar County, Texas. The petition alleged that iHeartMedia received illegal payments from Universal Music Group (UMG) to boost radio airplay for “Not Like Us.”

JAY-Z’s Attorney Reveals How Lawsuit Lies Impacted Rapper’s Kids

JAY-Z faced family turmoil after serious allegations surfaced online accusing the Hip-Hop mogul of a heinous crime alongside incarcerated mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.

During a recent interview with ABC News, Hov’s attorney, Alex Spiro, opened up about just how profoundly the accusations affected JAY-Z’s personal life, especially his children.

“It’s tough to hear a false lie said about you, spread through the internet, and affecting your children,” Spiro explained. “It’s tough on him, it’s tough on anybody. But what he does is he proves himself innocent.”

The controversy ignited in December 2024, when a woman using the pseudonym Jane Doe filed a lawsuit alleging that JAY-Z and Diddy sexually assaulted her in 2000 when she was just 13.

However, in February 2025, a judge dismissed the lawsuit with prejudice, effectively ending Jane Doe’s claims against JAY-Z.

Not content with merely clearing his name, JAY-Z responded aggressively. He launched a defamation suit in March 2025 against Doe and her legal representatives, including attorney Tony Buzbee. The Houston lawyer has filed lawsuits on behalf of more than 120 individuals who allege Diddy victimized them.

JAY-Z’s Attorney Says Recent Audio “Speaks For Itself”

Spiro also addressed the audio recording that significantly altered the case’s trajectory.

“The people around Mr. Carter wanted to know what happened behind closed doors and so they asked for her to be interviewed,” Spiro explained. “The interview occurred, and the tape speaks for itself. She says in no uncertain terms Mr. Carter did not do this. It is effectively a lie, and the only reason Mr. Carter is even involved in this is because she was pushed to involve him, pushed to include him by a lawyer.”

The recording shows Doe explicitly stating that JAY-Z “didn’t have anything to do with any sexual acts” toward her.

Additionally, Doe is heard indicating that her attorney, Tony Buzbee, encouraged her to name JAY-Z in the lawsuit. Buzbee vehemently denies the allegation, labeling it a “blatant lie.”

Spiro firmly rejected claims private investigators may have pressured or intimidated Doe.

“Of course not,” he insisted. “They did not coerce her, promise, or threaten her in any way, shape, or form. She voluntarily met and spoke to them, and she told them her truth, which was under no circumstances did Mr. Carter do this. And number two, the only reason he’s even involved in this is she was pushed to introduce him by a lawyer.”

Ultimately, Spiro believes JAY-Z’s defamation suit was necessary.

“The truth had to fully come out,” he added. “This person cannot be allowed to sort of hide from the reality that this was a false accusation.”

Kanye West Shifts Focus From Antisemitism To Misogyny

Kanye West took a brief respite from his ongoing antisemitic antics in favor of a little misogyny.

On Monday morning (March 17), the exhaustive tweeter wrote, “The man makes the final decision,” a reference to his ongoing battle with ex-wife Kim Kardashian over daughter North West’s inclusion in a song featuring Diddy.

Kardashian made it clear she didn’t want North West tied to the track, titled “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine,” but West released it anyway, prompting the reality television star to issue a cease and desist. In a text exchange West posted to Twitter (X), it was revealed Kardashian has full control over the North West trademark, therefore she has legal rights.

“I asked u at the time if I can trademark her name, you said yes,” she said in the text. “When she’s 18 it goes to her. So stop. I sent paper work over so she wouldn’t be in the Diddy song to protect her. One person has to trademark! We agreed when they were born I would get all of our kids names and trademarks so no one else would take them.”

Still, that didn’t dissuade West, who fired back, “Amend it or I’m going to war. And neither of us will recover from the public fallout. You’re going to have to kill me.”

West later went on to criticize Kardashian’s parenting, the same woman raising all four of his children.

“Yes I have beef with people that froze my account took my kids away and tried to put me in jail AND ITS STUCK,” he wrote on Saturday (March 15). He continued, “I DONT WANT TO JUST ‘SEE’ MY KIDS. I NEED TO RAISE THEM.I NEED TO HAVE SAY SO OF WEAR THEY GO TO SCHOOL AND WHO THEIR FRIENDS ARE AND WHOS HOUSES THEY SLEEP OVER WEATHER MY DAUGHTERS WEAR LIPSTICK AND PERFUME.

“ALL THESE RIGHTS HAVE BEEN TAKEN FROM ME BY THE KARDASHIAN MOB HULU AND DISNEY AND THE BIGGER AGENDA TO USE THE SELECTIVELY BRED BLACK CHILDREN TO BE PLATFORMS TO INFLUENCE BLACK PEOPLE.”

Before deleting them all, West concluded, “ITS LIKE IM IN PRISON ‘SEEING’ MY KIDS I DON’T CARE IF I LIVE OR DIE OR IF IM IN JAIL OR FREE.”

Kardashian held an emergency hearing with a mediator and a judge, which sources say West declined to attend. She was told he promised not to drop the song—evidently, that was a lie. The song arrived over the weekend. Find it below.

Iggy Azalea Blasts UMG In Explosive Rant Over Unpaid Royalties

Iggy Azalea has launched a scathing attack on Universal Music Group (UMG), accusing the music giant of withholding millions of dollars in unpaid royalties.

The Australian rapper took to social media over the weekend to expose what she claims is a blatant theft, stating that UMG owes her an amount in the eight-figure range.

In a series of fiery tweets, Azalea revealed that she has never received a single royalty from UMG for anything outside the United States. To make matters worse, when she attempted to address the issue through legal channels, the label responded with what she described as a laughable settlement offer of just $18,000.

“They owe me millions of dollars in back pay,” Azalea wrote. “They technically stole from me, as per my contract I am due payment.”

Azalea did not hold back, branding UMG as “criminals” who exploit artists for financial gain. She described the company as “the scummiest” in the industry and criticized its treatment of artists who lack the financial resources to fight for what they are rightfully owed.

“They do this to SO MANY artists who unfortunately can’t afford to fight for what they’re owed,” she continued. “Thus they get away with this behavior. Universal Music really needs to do better in their treatment of the artists who quite literally earn them millions via intellectual property they had zero part in creating. Yuck.”

Azalea said she has been privately battling UMG over this issue for over two years. She made it clear that she has no plans to back down.

“Universal Music, mark my words you ugly b####,” she declared. “You will pay me what’s owed.”

The rapper also called out what she sees as a deliberate strategy by major labels to discourage artists from pursuing legal action by making the process financially burdensome.

“They bank on hiding it and thinking the artist will never be able to pay for forensic accounting to happen,” she explained. “I can and I will be taking this to court.”

Azalea has vowed to take legal action if UMG does not present a “reasonable” settlement offer. She emphasized that she had warned the company of her intention to go public with the matter, and now, she is following through on that promise.

“One thing about me is: I will fight for what I want until I’m literally dragged out kicking and screaming,” she asserted.
