Earl Sweatshirt: “I’m The Most Sensitive N***a That’s Outside”

Hip-Hop recording artist Earl Sweatshirt rarely does interviews. However, the Odd Future affiliate did speak publicly to promote his Voir Dire project with The Alchemist.

Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe caught up with Earl Sweatshirt. Their conversation covered a wide range of topics. At one point, Sweatshirt even discussed embracing sensitivity.

“I’m the most sensitive n#### that’s outside. I’m not going to lie to you. No, that’s what I was saying outside to them,” Earl Sweatshirt admitted. “I was like, what if I went in there with Zane Lowe and sat down and just started profusely crying right now. Serious.”

The 29-year-old, Los Angeles-area native also added, “I swear to God, ask them, I was like, if I just sat down, first question, dry open and profusely crying in 10 minutes. I knew I was sensitive.”

Plus, Earl Sweatshirt talked about attending the “most intensive therapeutic boarding school ever.” According to the rapper/producer, “a series of unfortunate events” eventually led him to re-discover his sensitive side.

Earl Sweatshirt’s Doris Album Turns 10 This Year

In addition to pushing his Voir Dire project, Earl Sweatshirt is also celebrating the ten-year anniversary of his debut studio LP, Doris. That album came out on August 20, 2013. Doris garnered widespread critical acclaim upon its release.

“It kind of just brought back, just everything from that time. And some of the ambiguity, that’s what I think really stuck out to me,” Earl Sweatshirt told Zane Lowe.

The man born Thebe Neruda Kgositsile continued, “I was 18. I was trying to figure it out. They were like, ‘You’re the big rapper, make an album.’ That’s why I think part of that album was a deliberate shot in the parachute, or in the foot.”

Sweatshirt also stated, “At the risk of sounding redundant, it’s like I’m really not even that n#### anymore. I’ve already done that. Me, by myself. I’ve loved on that person and everything. So some parts of it felt like karaoke.”

O.T. Genasis Joins The Cast Of “The Surreal Life”

The Surreal Life is coming back with a brand new cast. California-bred rapper O.T. Genasis will star in the latest version of the long-running reality show.

O.T. Genasis joins Macy Gray, Chet Hanks, Ally Brooke, Kim Zolciak, Johnny Weir and Josie Canseco for Season 8 of The Surreal Life. Production for new installments begins this month.

Previously, TSL aired on VH1 for five seasons after debuting on The WB in 2003. The upcoming batch of shows featuring O.T. Genasis and his castmates will air on VH1’s sister network MTV.

Season 7 of The Surreal Life made headlines last year. In particular, August Alsina became a trending topic on social media after the R&B singer seemingly revealed he is romantically attracted to other men.

“Love showed up, but in a new way,” said August Alsina on the program. “I want to share that and honor the person that I love and that loves me back and teaching me so much about love and healing.”

The Product III: State of Emergency album creator continued, “I want to do that in front of the world because it defies all the constructs that one would say love is supposed to be or love should look like.”

O.T. Genasis will step onto The Surreal Life platform that once featured other recording artists such as MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice, Flavor Flav, Da Brat, Sandy “Pepa” Denton, and Tamar Braxton.

Prior to going in front of the cameras for The Surreal Life, O.T. Genasis scored a Billboard Hot 100 hit with “CoCo” in 2014. He dropped several projects, including 2016’s Coke N Butter which came out via Atlantic Records.

2023 MTV Video Music Awards Viewership Jumps 37% From 2022

MTV presented its annual Video Music Awards on September 12, 2023. The event in Newark, New Jersey featured multiple standout moments by some of today’s top female rappers.

Nicki Minaj hosted the 2023 VMAs. The Queens-raised MC also performed as part of the Hip-Hop 50th Anniversary Medley. She had her own set (“Last Time I Saw You,” “Big Difference”) as well.

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion hit the stage to perform their new “Bongos” collaboration for the first time. Plus, Doja Cat ran through “Attention,” “Paint the Town Red” and “Demons” on the show.

There was intrigue about this year’s VMAs among music fans because the ceremony highlighted so many female rap stars. A-listers like Taylor Swift, Diddy, Lil Wayne, and Shakira also took part in the show.

According to Deadline, MTV saw an increase in viewership compared to the previous Video Music Awards. The 2023 edition reportedly drew around 865,000 viewers, up from 2022’s 630,000 viewers.

That 37% increase is based on fast national data for only the MTV linear channel. The VMAs also broadcast on additional Paramount Global-owned networks like BET, VH1, and Comedy Central.

In addition, the 2023 Video Music Awards scored a 1.03 in the key 18-49 demographic which represents a 77% jump from last year’s 0.58 rating. A 1.03 is the best rating for a VMA show since 2020.

While the viewership hikes for the 2023 VMAs cannot be solely attributed to the female rappers, the women of Hip-Hop did ignite online interest. Some of the most-watched YouTube clips from the ceremony featured them.

Doja Cat’s Video Music Awards performance has amassed over 2.1 million views on YouTube. Cardi and Megan’s “Bongos” currently has 1.9 million plays on the platform. The Nicki Minaj video has 1.3 million views.

Additionally, “Paint the Town Red” by Doja Cat leads Shazam’s Top 200 chart in the United States. “Bongos” sits at No. 3 on those rankings. Nicki Minaj’s “Last Time I Saw You” holds onto the No. 18 position.

Yung Miami Reacts To Negative Comments About Her VMAs Outfit

Caresha “Yung Miami” Brownlee attended the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, and pictures of the southern rapper’s unconventional look made the rounds on social media.

A lot of the online reactions to Yung Miami’s dress were negative. She even made some publications’ “Worst Dressed Lists” for the VMA ceremony on Tuesday, September 12.

Yung Miami apparently got wind of the criticism. The City Girls member took to the X platform to share her thoughts on the cold critiques from the collective internet.

“Maybe it gotta grow on y’all [I don’t know] but I loved it 😍😍😍😍,” posted Miami on Wednesday afternoon. Her response collected 1 million views, 13,000 likes, and more than 1,000 reposts.

Yung Miami’s experience at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards also included an on-stage appearance. The host of the Caresha Please podcast performed as part of Diddy’s Global Icon Medley.

King Combs and Keyshia Cole also showed up for Diddy’s set which featured “I’ll Be Missing You,” “Bad Boy for Life,” “Gotta Move On,” “I Need a Girl (Part Two)” and “Last Night.”

Earlier this month, Yung Miami faced unfavorable opinions about her attire for Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour show in California. The “Act Up” hitmaker may have the chance at another red carpet moment at the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards.

Sukihana Responds To Complaints She Makes Black Women Look Bad

Destiny “Sukihana” Henderson typically has no problem publicly expressing her sexuality. However, her appearance at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards on Tuesday bothered some people online.

A photo of Suki on the VMA red carpet went viral this week. Cameras captured the reality television personality/recording artist lying down on the ground which caused a heated conversation online.

“Let’s cancel suki. She really [makes] black b###### look horrible,” wrote one X user. Sukihana quote-tweeted the person and added, “Y’all been looked horrible stop blaming me.”

Sukihana went on to defend herself further. At one point, she shared an old photo of Playboy model Anna Nicole Smith going topless on stage at the 2005 MTV Australia Video Music Awards.

“This the VMA’s??” wrote Suki on her post about Anna Nicole Smith. She later added, “I miss Viva La Bam, Anna Nicole and all the white thugs that [used] to run television. Tfffff bro I loved them.”

The Love & Hip Hop: Miami star also shared memes of herself on the VMA carpet photoshopped into different situations. One image featured a self-described Suki With the Good Coochie at the Last Supper.

This was not the first time Sukihana addressed critics complaining about her supposedly misrepresenting Black women. The Delaware-born entertainer’s trip to London in July included controversy as well.

“I’m embarrassed [as] a Black woman,” tweeted one Twitter account at the time. Sukihana fired back, “You scratching yo coochie in ya profile pic I’m embarrassed for you.”

Offset Campaigns To Get Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” Video To 1 Billion YouTube Views

Michael Jackson superfan Offset wants to help push one of King of Pop’s most iconic videos to achieve a major milestone.

The “Jealousy” hitmaker has joined the campaign to get “Thriller” into YouTube’s Billion Views Club. The official 4k version of the 1982 video was uploaded onto the platform back in October 2009. The video has racking up over 929,000,000 plays in the 13 years since.

However, a Michael Jackson fan page on X (formerly Twitter) is making a push to get the nearly 14-minute-long video into the elite club, and Offset wants to help.

The Migos rapper was trending Wednesday night (September 13), after holding an “Ask me Anything” session with his fans on the platform.

He caught wind of a post from the MJ fan account promoting a streaming event for the Billion Views campaign.

“Let’s get it to 1 billion,” Offset declared.

Twitter/Offset

If Offset and the other Michael Jackson stans achieve their goal, Thriller will become MJ’s third entry into the elite club. “Billie Jean” was the first to reach the milestone, crossing 1 billion views on YouTube in June 2021. “They Don’t Care About Us” followed earlier this year in April and fans are working on making Thriller the third entry.

Michael Jackson – Thriller

Earlier this week, Offset’s wife, Cardi B, revealed her husband’s Michael Jackson fandom is interfering with their love life. “I really need y’all to see the Michael Jackson tattoo he got on his stomach,” she shared. Cardi then admitted she feels like the tattoo is watching her perform intimate acts.

Despite Cardi’s objections, Offset refuses to get rid of his homage to Michael Jackson.

Sexyy Red’s First Boyfriend Stole Her Heart With Fake Gucci Belt And $13: “He Stole For Me”

Sexyy Red brands herself the “HOOD HOTTEST PRINCESS,” and with that title comes some hilarious hood tales from her life before fame.

Her latest revelation began with her recalling the most romantic thing a man has ever done for her and ended with a robbery.

The St. Louis-bred rapper opened up about her ex-boyfriend’s apparently sweet gesture during an interview with Montreality.

“It was my first boyfriend,” Sexyy Red explained of the romantic thief. “I was just in high school. He was a little older than me, and it was Valentine’s Day. I’ll never forget.

However, rather than the typical flowers and chocolates, or perhaps even a teddy bear, her man gifted her the loot from a heist.

“He robbed somebody and gave me the money and gave me the belt he stole,” she revealed.

Despite the origin of his romantic gesture, Sexyy Red was touched by her boo breaking the law for her.

“And it was just so sweet,” she added. “‘Cause he was out of breath and stuff. He was like, ‘Here, I just got this for you.’ I was like, ‘Awe, so sweet. Thank you.’ Because nobody ever did nothing like that for me. He stole for me. So, I was like, ‘Oh, you did that for me? Really?'”

The story got wilder as Red continued: “And I know he didn’t have it. So, the fact that you still made a way and you did what you had to do, that was nice. And it was only $13. But it was nice. And it was a fake Gucci belt…It was sweet.”

Sexyy Red Says “Pound Town” Could Be “Anywhere”

Elsewhere during the interview, Sexyy Red opened up about her viral hit “Pound Town.”

“It could be your house, your car, it could be right here right now,” she explained. “Wherever you want it to be at. It could be in that bathroom back there.”

Snoop Dogg Admits His Fear Of Horses In Hilarious Interview With Tiffany Haddish

Snoop Dogg has admitted he cannot stand being near horses and refuses to film with the animal over his fear of them.

He opened up about the phobia in a recent interview with Tiffany Haddish, which dropped on YouTube earlier this week. The show was filmed in 2020 but first aired on September 12.

During their chat, Tiffany Haddish revealed that she once dreamed of being a horse farmer, prompting the Death Row Records CEO’s admission.

“I’m scared of horses,” Snoop Dogg stated. “To this day Tiff. I don’t know why I’m just f###### scared of them.”

When Haddish expressed her shock, asking, “Are you serious?” Snoop Dogg replied, “I’m so serious.”

Snoop continued, “You ain’t never seen me in a scene with a horse. I done been in a scene with ostriches, iguanas, all kinds of s###. N#### ain’t never been in a scene with a horse. N#### get that muthafucka away from me. I don’t know why.”

Haddish suggested that perhaps Snoop Dogg fell off a horse in his past life. “I think I may have been the Headless Horseman or some muthafuckin’ body.

The West Coast legend explained that his wife kept a horse for a few years, although he hilariously revealed he never ventured near the animal. “I ain’t finna go meet this n####, ‘cause I don’t f### with horses.”

Snoop Dogg then suggested starting with a smaller beast to cure his fear of horses.

“Maybe one day somebody can introduce me to a baby horse,” he added. “A little jackass or something I can learn how to be around you muthafuckas.”

However, Haddish suggested he try a pony rather than a donkey. “They kind of seem like a mix of rabbit and horse,” Haddish added as Snoop erupted with laughter.

Kanye West Tried Converting $57M Malibu Mansion To Bomb Shelter To Hide From Kardashians and Clintons, New Lawsuit Claims

Kanye West attempted to transform his $57 million Malibu beachfront mansion into a “bomb shelter” without windows, plumbing, or electricity so he could go off-grid and hide from the Kardashians and the Clintons, according to a new lawsuit.

Ye’s former project manager and property caretaker, Tony Saxon, reportedly filed a 40-page lawsuit in the Superior Court for the County of Los Angeles. Saxon claims West failed to pay him for his work on the home in the fall of 2021 and fired him when he couldn’t continue because of a back injury.

Saxon also alleged Kanye West insisted he replace the electricity with large generators inside the home. However, when he explained that this would pose a fire hazard, Saxon claims Ye lost it. According to the complaint, Ye “raised his voice” and “threatened plaintiff.” He told Saxon “he would be considered an enemy if he did not comply,” before ordering him to “get the hell out.”

Saxon told NBC that Kanye West wants “a bomb shelter from the 1910s.” He was tasked with gutting the place to build him a “a Bat Cave,” so he could “hide from the Clintons and Kardashians.”

According to Saxon, “Ye wanted no electricity. He only wanted plants, candles, battery lights; and to have everything open and dark. You can’t keep food in that house, because you had no refrigerator left. You had no windows. I had seagulls flying in.

“He wants to be on a privatized Wi-Fi network,” Saxon said, adding, “He wants to have an alternate source of energy. He wants to have no doors, no windows, no fixtures, just concrete.”

Saxon hired the attorneys suing Kanye West over hazardous conditions at his private Christian school, Donda Academy. That lawsuit alleged students were taught in rooms with no windows or electricity.

Drake Teams Up With Ex-Girlfriend SZA On New “For All The Dogs” Single

Drake is gearing up to drop his new album For All The Dogs later this month, with a new single promised this week, and from his latest post, it appears the first single from the new album is a collab with his ex-girlfriend SZA.

The O.V.O. founder took to Instagram Wednesday (September 13), with the cover art for his upcoming single. While the image was of Halle Berry getting slimed at the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, it was the person he tagged in the post that got fans talking.

Drake tagged SZA, and the R&B songstress also shared the cover art on her IG page.

SZA confirmed she and Drake used to date after he revealed their past relationship in his guest verse on 21 Savage‘s “Mr. Right Now.”

“We’re cool. And we’ve always been cool,” SZA revealed during a December 2022 interview with Big Tigger. “It’s never been weird.”

She also shared that Drake gave her somewhat of a heads-up before releasing the song and that she still thinks highly of him.

“It didn’t come completely out of the blue and he let me know,” she added. “I didn’t know it was a song with 21 [Savage] or anything like that. But anytime he’s ever mentioned me, it’s always been positive. He’s never said anything negative about me. I’m grateful for that. I think highly of him…He’s King Drake.”

In addition to the SZA collab, Drake also teased an upcoming Yeat feature, sharing a snippet of their track to promote his new Nike NOCTA Glide sneaker. Check out the preview below.

Ice Spice Partners With Dunkin’ On Signature “Ice Spice Munchkins Drink”

Dunkin’, formerly known as Dunkin’ Donuts, is rolling out its new drink with the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards’ Best New Artist, Ice Spice. The brand has unveiled “The Ice Spice Munchkins Drink,” which hit shops across the nation on Wednesday (September 13). As fans may know, “Munchkins” is the nickname for her fanbase.

Ice Spice got her own drink, but she had to work out the drink with actor Ben Affleck, the brand ambassador for the company, according to Penn Live.

Jill McVicar Nelson, chief marketing officer at Dunkin’, gave a statement about the collaboration and why they believe it will be a hit.

“Pumpkin spice season has gotten a bit predictable lately, so we sought help from our friends Ben Affleck and Ice Spice to create a new pumpkin obsession that only Dunkin’ can offer,” McVicar Nelson said. “The result? The collaboration you never knew you needed: Pumpkin Munchkins and Frozen Dunkin’ Coffee, blended together to create the Ice Spice Munchkins Drink. It’s fun, it’s delicious and it’s not your ordinary pumpkin drink!”

The Ice Spice Munchkins Drink mixes up pumpkin-flavors and its signature frozen Dunkin’ coffee. According to the company, the drink is “blended with pieces of pumpkin cake Munchkins, reminiscent of the texture of a cookies and cream shake.”

The coffee is then topped with whipped cream and caramel drizzle, taking the drink that American knows and loves to the next level.

Nigerian Rapper MohBad Reportedly Dead At 27

Nigerian rapper and singer MohBad has reportedly died at the age of 27. According to Premium Times Nigeria, the cause of death is unknown. Fans and entertainment professionals first heard about the death of the MohBad (real name is Ilerioluwa Aloba) in a short video shared on social media. The family later released a statement on his Twitter, where his last post assured his fans that no one’s prayers were stronger than his.

Fellow Nigerian rapper Olamide posted a picture in his Instagram Story that reads, “R.I.P. Young Champ.”

Burna Boy also had a startling reaction to the news. Twitter (X) was flooded with fans’ comments and updates, including one about Afrobeats star Davido.

“MohBad’s father just said Davido sent somebody to him with N20m. God bless Davido meh,” one person tweeted.

One source suspected foul play and has expressed concern for his relatives. Hours after his death was announced, preparations for his funeral began. It seems he’ll be buried in his hometown of Ikorodu. Some object because of the lavish life that he lived before. People are also said to be trying to stop his wife, Omowunmi, from having stake in his fortune.

One man says in Yoruba, “We are going to collect it from his wife, all of Mohbad’s properties if she doesn’t want trouble. All of MohBad’s assets with her, she has to drop them.”

Check out MohBad’s song, “Peace.”

Drake Pushes Fan Who Bum Rushes Stage; Blames Security For Being “Slow”

Some people think Drake is a simp— a super nice guy who can be tested. But recently, the Canadian superstar has been proving otherwise. Earlier this summer, Mr. Hotline Bling wilded out on a male fan who jumped up and tried to take a Champagne Papi sweat-drenched towel from a female concertgoer. This time, the father of one pushed back a fan who tried to bum rush the stage during his It’s All a Blur Tour show in Texas.

The fan apparently wanted to get close to his favorite star, but Drake shocked him instead. Once Drake realized the person didn’t mean any harm, he extended his hand to shake it. Fans quickly chimed in.

“Only Lebron or Travis are allowed on his stage,” one person write, while another said, “We all know he would’ve acted differently if that was a female.”

While everything seemed all good in the end, Drake turned around and blasted the security detail at the venue, saying, “Y’all not doing security out here? Boy, you slow as f##k.”

One person on X said, “That security guard definitely lost his job!” Another added, “F##k yes, they lacking. And Drake pushing the fan is a good thing, we have had ‘fans’ come up on stage with knives and even guns. jumping on stage like that is some jack ass s##t to do.”

Wyclef Jean Shouts Out Battle Rapper Tsu Surf At 2023 MTV VMAs: “Free The Wave”

Wyclef Jean presented Shakira with the 2023 MTV Video Vanguard Award on Tuesday night (September 12), an honor delivered to the Colombian star for her outstanding career in music. The global superstar has reportedly sold more than 125 million albums worldwide, making her the greatest-selling female Latin artist of all time.

Before the Fugees’ de facto leader exited the stage, he said, “Right about now, New Jerusalem, New Jersey! Free the Wave. Y’all give it up for Shakira.” No, he wasn’t talking about Harlem’s Max B—but another wave. Tsunami Surf.

Surf’s mother, Tsu Umi Surf, posted the clip on her Twitter and Instagram. She said on one platform that she and her son appreciate the love shared by Wyclef.

As previously reported by AllHipHop.com, the Ultimate Rap League battle rapper was arrested on racketeering conspiracy charges and possessing firearms and ammunition as a convicted felon. He pleaded guilty to those charges. He’s now on lockdown and awaiting his sentencing, which was supposed to take place on Tuesday but was pushed back.

In May, his mother called for his fans to fast and pray every Tuesday leading up to the September date, changing the day of the week to “Tsu-sday.”

Diddy Announces Release Date For “Another One Of Me” Boasting The Weeknd’s “Last Collab”

Will The Weeknd call it quits on collaborating with other artists? According to Diddy, the Canadian star is done with features following the release of their upcoming song.

Diddy’s “Another One of Me” will hit DSPs on Friday (September 15), a date the Hip-Hop mogul has dubbed “Diddy Day.” The forthcoming single includes contributions by The Weeknd, French Montana and 21 Savage.

On August 30, Combs uploaded a 17-second clip for “Another One of Me” to his verified YouTube channel. The Love Records founder titled the teaser, “IT’S OFFICIAL @TheWeeknd LAST COLLAB OF HIS CAREER WILL BE ON THE LOVE ALBUM: OFF THE GRID!”

A James Larese-directed music video for “Another One of Me” comes out on Friday (September 15) as well. Diddy also plans to drop The Love Album: Off the Grid that same day.

The Love Album: Off the Grid signifies Diddy’s return to R&B-influenced sounds. He previously used a full-length body of work to tackle that genre on 2010’s Last Train to Paris with Dirty Money (Dawn Richard and Kalenna Harper).

Dirty Money appears on The Love Album: Off the Grid track “Deliver Me.” The album also contains guest appearances by Justin Bieber, Mary J Blige, Jazmine Sullivan, H.E.R., Summer Walker, Babyface, John Legend, Teyana Taylor, Busta Rhymes and many more.

Diddy’s last studio LP, Press Play, peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The billionaire musician/entrepreneur also scored a No. 1 with 1997’s No Way Out, which came out as a Puff Daddy & The Family project.

In addition, this week saw Diddy receive the Global Icon Award at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. He also performed a medley of hits at the ceremony. The eight-minute set included assists from his son King Combs, City Girls rapper Yung Miami and R&B singer Keyshia Cole.

DJ Envy Talks Getting “Flewed Out” By R. Kelly

Veteran radio personality DJ Envy probably has a lot of industry stories. The Queens, New York City native recently recalled an unsuccessful scheduled studio session with R&B singer R. Kelly.

DJ Envy sat down with VladTV for an interview. During the conversation, the 46-year-old Hampton University graduate spoke about traveling to Illinois in the late 1990s to work with Kelly.

“This was the mixtape days. So this was when I was like 19, 20,” said DJ Envy. “They reached out to me and R. Kelly wanted to do an R&B mixtape, flew me out to Chicago. And that was it.”

He continued, “It sounds crazy saying, ‘flew me out.’ I got flown out on a Friday. I get there, get in the hotel, nice hotel, five-star, everything’s first class. Friday, nothing. They didn’t return my call. No studio. So, I said alright. And it was supposed to be a weekend thing, so Friday, Saturday, Sunday.”

DJ Envy went on to say he got himself back to New York that Saturday night. The Power 105.1. presenter also added, “I felt like I was an Instagram model that somebody flew out. I was too ugly to holla at.”

A Federal Jury Convicted R. Kelly On Nine Counts

Around the time of DJ Envy’s failed meeting, R. Kelly released the R. studio album. That project arrived in record stores on November 10, 1998. The 3-time Grammy winner dropped the TP-2.com LP two years later.

R. Kelly has since become known just as much for being a convicted sexual criminal as he is for being a musician. The self-described Pied Piper of R&B is currently serving time in federal prison after receiving a 30-year sentence for sex trafficking and racketeering-related charges.

“Through his actions, Kelly exhibited a callous disregard for the devastation his crimes had on his victims and has shown no remorse for his conduct,” stated Breon Peace, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, at the time of sentencing in June 2022.

DJ Envy made plenty of his own headlines in 2023. A feud with Hip Hop artists Rick Ross and Gunplay dominated social media timelines earlier this year. He also got into a war of words with singer/actor Tyrese over the last week.

Metro Boomin Teases Collaborative Album With Future

It appears the producer/rapper combination of Metro Boomin and Future is ready to drop a full-length project. One-half of that musical duo reminded their fans about the upcoming body of work.

The MTV network booked Metro Boomin as a performer for the 2023 Video Music Awards which took place on September 12. The Boominati Worldwide founder shared the stage with several Hip-Hop stars.

Swae Lee, Nav and A Boogie wit da Hoodie joined Metro at the VMAs for a live rendition of “Calling.” Additionally, “Superhero (Heroes & Villains)” featuring Future (aka Pluto) kicked off the televised set.

“MTV, VMAs, ‘23. What we doing?” said Metro Boomin at the start of his Video Music Awards performance on Tuesday night. “Me and Pluto album on the way.”

Metro Boomin and Future have a long history of working together on music. Tracks by the Atlanta native such as “Honest,” “Karate Chop” and “Wicked” feature production by the Grammy-nominated beatmaker.

“Superhero (Heroes & Villains)” lives on Metro’s Heroes & Villains studio LP. That album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 185,000 first-week units. Heroes & Villains earned Platinum status in June.

Throughout his career, Metro Boomin has created collaborative projects with acts such as 21 Savage, Offset, Big Sean and Nav. He also curated the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse soundtrack which came out in June.

2022’s platinum-certified I Never Liked You is Future’s most recent album. Plus, he partnered with Drake for 2015’s What a Time to Be Alive, Young Thug for 2017’s Super Slimey and Lil Uzi Vert for 2020’s Pluto x Baby Pluto.

NLE Choppa Brings Out Nelly At 2023 VMAs To Perform “It’s Getting Hot”

Memphis-bred recording artist NLE Choppa dropped “It’s Getting Hot” in July. The Draco, Project X and Superstar O-produced track borrows heavily from Nelly’s Hot 100 chart-topping “Hot in Herre.” Some listeners criticized NLE Choppa for remaking the classic single from 2002. However, Nelly once again co-signed “It’s Getting Hot” by appearing on stage last night with the 20-year-old rapper.

Choppa performed at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards pre-show. The Cottonwood 2 album creator brought out Nelly during his set to run through a “It’s Getting Hot” and “Hot in Herre” mash-up.

Nelly had already shown approval for “It’s Getting Hot” on social media. The St. Louis-raised rhymer reportedly posted “Go Up Nephew” on his Instagram Story in response to a snippet of NLE Choppa’s new record.

“It’s Getting Hot” peaked at No. 36 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and No. 25 on the Billboard Rhythmic Airplay chart. The song’s “Hot in Herre”-inspired music video crossed the five million view mark on YouTube.

Joe Budden Says No One Checked Him For His “Bongos” Review

“Did somebody check me? No, I actually got an invite tonight to the ‘Bongos’ listening party,” said Joe Budden. He later stated, “TMZ and along with a number of other outlets and publications did, like y’all always do, post my opinions and put it on the assembly belt.”

The “Pump It Up” performer also added, “I want to say that I know when that happens that one of y’all’s labels or teams or publicist people out there doing that. I know that it’s y’all.”

And don’t play with me like that because y’all know I f### with Cardi. But I stand in what I said about the song.”
