Jeez Louis! The superstars of women’s college basketball are talking that talk. I am talking about Angel Reese and Flau’jae! They are 20 and 19 respectfully. Well, they are peak black young ladies, clearly rising to the top as super stars. Flau’jae is a rapper that can really rap. I am pretty sure Angel Reese is destined for the pros. But for now, they are college “kids.”
Drake and Future are…grown.
Drake will be 40 this year and Drake ain’t too far behind. him. Both men reportedly slide in the DMs of these young and gave them their respect. There was a bit of a moment where Envy said something about Drake’s court and she seemed to blush,
But is there something more nefarious going on!? Not necessarily. Watch the clip and I will expound.
Cam’ron seemingly took offense to fellow Dipset member Jim Jones’ remarks from an April 21 interview.
Killa Cam issued a message to his haters via Instagram on Monday (April 24). Cam’ron appeared to reference comments made by Jim Jones, who spoke about Cam and Ma$e on an episode of The Breakfast Club.
“Anybody who says “I can’t hate’ really wants to ‘hate,’” Cam’ron’s message read with credit given to Duke Da God.
Cam’ron shared his thoughts a few days after his longtime collaborator discussed Cam and Ma$e’s sports talk showIt Is What It Is. Jim Jones didn’t explicitly diss Cam’ron when asked about the show, but the answer apparently didn’t strike the right tone.
“They’re definitely very funny,” Jim Jones said. “They’ve always been a group of comedians. I can’t take that away from them. And they’re very knowledgeable about basketball … Cam definitely had a chance to go to the NBA. I can’t say that with no hate in my heart.”
Earlier in the interview, Jim Jones expressed his contempt for Ma$e.
“I don’t care about Ma$e,” he said. “I don’t care for Ma$e too much. Ya heard? Tell Ma$e go say some prayers. Word up, ya heard? Might deck Ma—let me stop.”
Cam’ron and Jim Jones spent time as friends and foes during their careers. Cam also beefed with Ma$e at times, but the two currently work together on It Is What It Is.
SZA reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time in her career.
The Top Dawg Entertainment artist’s single “Kill Bill” went from No. 4 to No. 1 on the latest Hot 100 chart. The track’s previous peak was No. 2.
“Kill Bill” made the jump following the release of a remix featuring Doja Cat. SZA’s song racked up 28.3 million streams and 5,000 downloads in its chart-topping week.
TDE executive Terrence “Punch” Henderson celebrated the accomplishment on Monday (April 24). He thanked fans and congratulated SZA.
“Great work,” Punch wrote via Twitter. “Appreciate everyone who supported this record so far. SZA you got you one. Congrats!”
The original version of “Kill Bill” appeared on SZA’s sophomore album SOS, which dropped in December 2022. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
SZA released the Doja Cat-assisted “Kill Bill” remix on April 14. The two previously collaborated on the Grammy-winning single “Kiss Me More.”
“Kill Bill” entered the Hot 100 at No. 3 in December 2022. It spent eight consecutive weeks at No. 2.
The single spent the second-most weeks at No. 2 before making it to No. 1. Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy” holds the record for most weeks with nine.
Summertime is around the corner. And it’s looking like it is going to be a scorcher. There is a hot rumor and it is gaining some serious legs. You could say it was walking, like a really serious walker! Summer Walker, and Lil Meech are allegedly dating each other.
According to rumors, and Internet detectives, they are seeing each other. They have allegedly left very small, very clear breadcrumbs around the Internet.
Honestly, who cares! WE DO!
I am looking at the Internet and most people do not like this relationship and they care. They are putting two and two together in a way that only the CIA or the FBI could do. But, do people want to see them together? No!
Not that it’s any of our business, but most people feel that this is a toxicity overload, and nobody really wants to see them go downhill. The reality is is though, they have looked at pictures and analyzed them too, and amazing level. They are looking at reflections in sunglasses, phones, the shadow in a car. Or the Lamborghini, that they both allegedly were in no to make these conclusions.
And that is crazy! By the way, I do not know if this mattes, but she is four years older than him, 27 and 23 respectfully.
Check this! But you have to look close or go directly to twitter.
Now you guys have gotten your fill of “Snowfall.” The show, which concluded last week, set off an inferno of commentary from these digital streets. It was absolutely magical, how they captivated the audience with the tale of Franklin Saint. Franklin came to an unfortunate ending. If you don’t know by now, you better stop reading immediately.
First of all, what do you guys think ended up being Franklin’s fate? Personally, I believe he ended up an alcoholic that succumbed to the weight of his own dreams and capitalistic maxims. A lot of people, at least some that I saw, believe he was also a drug addict. Although he looked terrible, there is nothing that suggests that he was an actual bass head. Quite the contrary, according to what was visually seen in the show, he drank ad nauseam in the show and when goes directly to the liquor store when he was given $20.
But, here is why we are talking right now. There is a spinoff of the hit show in the works right now. And it follows his best friend, Leon and his wife, ironically, who used to be a crackhead. if you remember, Franklin made fun of Wanda when he was going on in a rant. Wanda, played by Gail Bean, is supposedly the lead character in the spinoff series. Her story begins where “Snowfall” ends, basically, at the end of the crack era.
What does this mean?
This also means it begins at the beginning of gangsta rap. Bloods and Crips! Are you might remember in the series finale they had a nod to John Singleton, who was filming his seminal, classic “Boyz-N-Tha- Hood.” That means Ice Cube’s somewhere in there!
At any rate, there is no release date for this show in development, but you can best believe they are going to do an amazing job. Period, also, I personally believe that they did not make Franklin a drug attic, because he will somehow find a way back into the franchise. They had to leave that door, at least a jar for something else to happen. For example, I believe Franklin‘s post drug king pin days warrant a movie of some sort. The creators can discuss the struggles and the trials and tribulations of someone that experienced the highest of highs in the drug game, but now must deal with the sobering reality of normal life. And what does that look like?
All of the drug dealer stories that we watched, typically end in total destruction or death. I believe that the ending of snowfall was very, very realistic. Almost anticlimactic. We wanted him to win, for some deranged reason – mainly because he was a Black man trying to escape his conditions. But at the same time, we realize that he had evolved into a complete monster, pushed into the beast of this high stakes “game.” And that sort of human being is not permitted to end well.
Anyway, what do you guys think? And are you excited at the prospect of a spinoff?
Lastly, Rest In Peace to the great, great, great John Singleton.
Kid Cudi teamed up with Euphoriacreator Sam Levinson for a new film titled Hell Naw.
According to Deadline, Kid Cudi will star in the horror comedy and produce it alongside Levinson. Sony Pictures acquired the movie, which reportedly features zombies and a Paris Fashion Week setting.
“This movie has been five years in the making,” Kid Cudi said. “I am telling the world now, this film will f### you up in all the best ways. I have been a horror fan since I was 7 years old. The first horror movies I ever saw were Night of the Living Dead and Evil Dead. And from that point on, I was hooked on the feeling of being frightened. I’ve been wanting to get into this world creating my own stories for a long time, and now, and after years of working it out in my head, it’s finally happening.”
Kid Cudi’s zombie movie will be written by The Lucas Brothers. The comedic duo penned the script for the 2021 film Judas and the Black Messiah.
“Sam, The Lucas Brothers and myself have really crafted a tale we feel everyone who’s a fan of horror and comedy will enjoy,” Kid Cudi said. “You will laugh, oh yes you will, but the horror aspect of this movie will really be something to see. You will be shook. I promise. Y’all know I don’t play around.”
Last year, Kid Cudi appeared in Ti West’s horror film X. Earlier this month, the rapper joined the cast of the Sonic the Hedgehog spinoff series Knuckles.
As news of Don Lemon’s abrupt firing from CNN broke, former President Donald Trump wasted no time celebrating his long-time critic’s demise.
Trump gleefully posted on TruthSocial, “Good News: ‘The dumbest man on television,’ Don Lemon, has finally been fired from Fake News CNN. My only question is, WHAT TOOK THEM SO LONG?”
“I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN. I am stunned. After 17 years at CNN, I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly. At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network,” Don Lemon said. “It is clear that there are some larger issues at play.” He went on to express gratitude for his colleagues and teams, stating, “I want to thank my colleagues and the many teams I have worked with for an incredible run. They are the most talented journalists in the business, and I wish them all the best.”
Various celebrities and public figures took to social media to voice their opinions on the controversial firings.
While some shared their support for Lemon and Carlson, others questioned the motives behind the decisions and whether the terminations were fueled by a larger issue within the media industry.
“Don will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years. We wish him well and will be cheering him on in his future endeavors.”
Meanwhile, The New York Times reported that some guests were reluctant to appear on-air with Lemon, and internal research revealed his popularity with audiences had waned.

50 Cent jumped at the opportunity to mock Irv Gotti on Monday (April 24).
The G-Unit leader teased Irv Gotti by sharing a viral clip of Ashanti and Nelly performing together. The video sparked rumors of a rekindled romance, which 50 Cent used to antagonize Irv Gotti.
“HE WILL BE AIGHT,” 50 Cent wrote on Instagram. “I was in love wit her, and she just popped up with Nelly. LOL.”
Irv Gotti infamously aired out his sexual past with Ashanti in 2022. He said Ashanti broke his heart when he saw her with Nelly at an NBA game in the early 2000s.
Ashanti and Nelly were romantically linked for roughly a decade. They broke up in 2013.
Speculation about a reunion picked up steam over the weekend. Ashanti and Nelly were spotted together at the Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia fight in Las Vegas on Saturday (April 22).
50 Cent’s issues with Irv Gotti began more than 20 years ago. The rapper-turned-TV executive feuded with the Murder Inc. founder and Ja Rule in one of Hip-Hop’s most publicized beefs. Time didn’t heal the wounds as 50 Cent held on to his grudge for years.
Desiigner is reportedly facing criminal charges for exposing himself on a recent flight. According to TMZ, the feds are accusing the rapper of masturbating in front of a Delta flight attendant while seated in first class. Flight attendants allegedly told him several times to stop. He was eventually taken to the back of the plane, where he was monitored by two friends. The FBI affidavit claims a jar of Vaseline dropped into the aisle as he was getting up to switch seats.
After landing in Minneapolis, he was greeted by authorities. He told them the incident occurred because he “didn’t really get much cootie” while in Japan. He allegedly claimed he was “brick hard” when he got on the plane.

Desiigner also admitted he was aroused by the flight attendant and “kind of showed her, showed her ‘the magic stick,’ thinking it would give her “encouragement.”
Shortly after the incident, Desiigner told his Instagram followers he was going to seek help. He wrote: “For the past few months I have not been OK, and I have been struggling to come to terms with what is going on. While overseas for a concert I performed at, I had to be admitted into a hospital. I was not thinking clearly. They gave me meds and I had to hop on a plane home. I am ashamed of my actions that happened on that plane. I landed back to the states, and am admitting myself in a facility to help me. I will be cancelling all of my shows and any obligations until further notice. Mental health is real guys, please pray for me. If (you’re) not feeling like yourself please get help.”
Onsight Deeda is the newest artist to sign to Cash Money Records… which means speaks volumes in itself.
Hailing from Abbeville, Louisiana, the rising star has one hell of a story to tell, and he wears his heart on his sleeve through the music. Going from the streets to signing a one million dollar deal is no easy feat, and Onsight Deeda plans to make the most of his blessings.
Onsight Deeda states, “If you’re looking to ride around with your friends and really turn the energy up, have a good time, play my music. It’s gonna take you there, fasho.”
After Deeda turned himself in and spent three months behind bars, all charges were dropped as Higgins was elected to the U.S. Representatives for Louisiana’s 3rd Congressional District.
Now, Onsight Deeda is ready to take over the rap game, one banger at a time. After a string of releases — including “PFK,” “99 Opps” and “Letter To My Mummy” — fans are excited as he readies his forthcoming single titled “Don Doda,” arriving on April 21st.
AllHipHop caught up with Onsight Deeda to discuss his background, his name, his reaction to the viral video, being locked up, signing to Cash Money Records, inspo behind “Don Dada,” his new music, and more!
AllHipHop: Being from Abbeville, what was that like growing up?
Onsight Deeda: A small town, a lot of violence going on. Just the basic, a lot of struggling going on forreal. That type of stuff.
AllHipHop: When did music come into play for you?
Onsight Deeda: Probably when I was about 16, I made my first song. Really, I was just playing with it. My first song really took off you could say, so I stuck with it forreal.
AllHipHop: Do you remember when you fell in love with music?
Onsight Deeda: I’ve always been a big fan of music. When it comes down to it, just needing to vent to myself or anything like that, I always brought my problems to music. That’s something I always did to really help me cope with everything.
AllHipHop: What artists did you listen to?
Onsight Deeda: Lil Wayne, that’s what I grew up jamming.
AllHipHop: What’s your favorite Wayne project?
Onsight Deeda: It gotta be the Carter III. I remember when I was young, because my mom & dad would always play for real. So even as I got older, that’s what I still be playing every now and then.
AllHipHop: Favorite song off the Carter III?
Onsight Deeda: Man, “I Miss My Dawgs.” That’s the Carter II. That’s the one I’m talking about, that one right there.
AllHipHop: How did you get your name?
Onsight Deeda: It’s spontaneous, everything be on the spot with me. My friends started calling me Onsight, so I just rolled with it like that.Deeda is my nickname. As a kid though, that’s been my name. All my family, my grandmother and them called me Deeda, so I just put the Onsight in front of that. We took off like that.
AllHipHop: Growing up, did you always want to rap?
Onsight Deeda: Nah, I honestly didn’t know. It really just came out of the blue because all my friends, my cousins, they rap. I wrote a little song, just playing, and they made me go record it. After that, I had a little buzz with it. So I kept sticking with it for real.
AllHipHop: Talk about going viral. What was going through your head when you saw that?
Onsight Deeda: To be honest, I didn’t really know how to feel about the situation. I was really in shock forreal. My whole thought process, I never saw this happen before so what’s the next step? What’s my next step? What should I be doing? At that point, I’m fearing for my life. I really was trying to see what ‘s my next step as far as being safe and staying alive forreal.
AllHipHop: Did it make you angry at all, the way they were talking?
Onsight Deeda: To me, it was really more so funny. Somebody just be saying [anything]. You don’t even know me forreal. You acting like you know me all my life or something. I don’t know, I really laughed about the situation.
AllHipHop: You turned yourself in, how long were you locked up?
Onsight Deeda: When I turned myself in for that, I did two years. I ended up bonding out after. Two years, they gave me a bond reduction. I ended up coming home after that.
AllHipHop: What did you learn from behind bars?
Onsight Deeda: Really to be honest, jail was part of my upbringing forreal. That made me the man I became today. Jail showed me how to really be very manneristic. Always give respect to get respect. But I’m not going lie, it’s really crazy. Because every day, somebody’s either getting stabbed in here or different stuff like that. It really taught me to pick my battles. This not what I want to come back to.
AllHipHop: How did it affect your mental health?
Onsight Deeda: It really made me stronger, as far as mentally. Because it’ll really make you or break you forreal. I done seen it turn the biggest men break down. Jail gon’ make you or break you. Either you gon’ get in here, you gon’ man up and really hold your own ground in here, or you gon’ fall victim to everything else that’s going on. As far as mentally, it put me in the mindset to know man, whatever I got going on, I’ma go through it and I’ma have my standpoints. I’ma live by my morals no matter what my situation is. That’s how it’s been.
AllHipHop: How did you find your way to Cash Money Records?
Onsight Deeda: Really, all my family they are from New Orleans. I got a lot of talent out there too, but my producer Sinista introduced me to Slim. After we made that introduction, it was just love. It was really no other place for me to go forreal, and feel at home. I really feel at home with Cash Money.
AllHipHop: Did they give you any advice?
Onsight Deeda: The biggest thing Slim preached to me is do me. “Man do you. Have fun with it, do you, and stay focused.” The main thing they be preaching to me is stay clear and focused. It’s different now for me because I still got partnas, they still in the hood and everything. But I gotta realize that I‘m on a whole different level now. I have to change up my moves, so they be preaching to move accordingly to my situation.
AllHipHop: I was listening to “PFK,” what inspired that record?
Onsight Deeda: That joint hard. Honestly, the last jail sentence I just did here, I had another time I’m just venting forreal. I’m sitting down, talking to one of my partners. Out the blue, I cut the conversation off. Went to get a pen and pad, I just started writing. I didn’t really plan on coming home and dropping this. I got in the studio, ran the beat to my partner and he’s like “man you gotta drop it. I just did it. That’s one of my favorites songs I’ve done so far.
AllHipHop: Best memory from the video shoot? Looked like you had all your homies out.
Onsight Deeda: Man, just the fact I’m fresh home from prison. I got all my patnas out here, it was nothing but love. I had friends out there who I haven’t seen in two or three years, because they just came from doing jail time. If it was nothing else, I coulda just been out there chillin’ with my friends. I’d have a cool day, just creating memories forreal.
AllHipHop: What inspired your new single, “Don Dada”?
Onsight Deeda: “Don Dada“: As you soon as you put it on, it’s straight energy. I don’t care if you in the car or you sad or something, as soon as you put that song on, you’re gonna wanna stick your head out the window and do all kinds of crazy s###. “Don Dada” gon’ bring that energy for sure.
AllHipHop: What about “Hit They Block”?
Onsight Deeda: “Hit They Block,” same thing. If you stay in the car, you gon’ throw it in park and jump out at the stoplight. That’s what I did for the video shoot. On the highway, threw the car in park and jumped out the car. “Hit They Block” energy! Straight energy on that one!
AllHipHop: Are you going to be releasing a project? What can we expect next?
Onsight Deeda: I know right now, we’re finalizing my tape. I got maybe one or two songs left to turn in for my tape to be completed. My tape gon’ be Letter ToMummy also, that’s the name to my first tape so I can dedicate it to my little brother. That tape is gonna be the hardest tape that came out this year. From front to back, you gon’ play it. You won’t be able to skip a song.
Bad Bunny displayed an apology to Harry Styles during his Coachella performance.
During his headlining set at Coachella’s second weekend the “Soy Peor” singer displayed an apology on the screen behind him to the “As It Was” star – for having displayed a potentially insulting message about Harry onscreen the weekend prior.
On April 14th, Bad Bunny (real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) performed his hit “El Apagón,” while the video screen behind him displayed a Twitter post that read, “goodnight benito could do as it was but harry could never do el apagaon.”
Fans interpreted the message as shade on the British singer.
“Sorry Harry,” read a new message displayed behind Bunny’s Friday performance. “It was a mistake from my team. We love you.”
A representative for Bunny clarified to Rolling Stone that the Puerto Rican singer did not approve of the original tweet displayed during his first set.
The visual content company that produced the images for Bunny’s set – Sturdy.co – also reportedly confirmed the claim, but insisted they did not intend to insult Harry with the display.
A video has gone viral showing the world how a mom uses Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz’ “Get Low” to stop her child from fussing.
The British mother, Melissa Buckley, went viral after abandoning typical lullabies like “Hush, Little Baby” or “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” to get her 2-month-old son, Jackson to stop crying. She posted her parenting trick on her social media platforms, including TikTok and Instagram.
On her Instagram, she captioned, “Anyone else’s babies get soothed to a random song? 😂 I used to play this all the time in my third trimester to try and get jackson head down and engaged… it did not work haha!!”
Playfully, she titled the popular video, now viewed almost 8 million times, with another nearly 12 million views on TikTok, “Can you tell I listened to this song a bit too much in my pregnancy…”
Buckley, 27, is seen in the clip asking Alexa to play “Get Low,” after she unsuccessfully attempts to rock her son to comfort.
As soon as the song starts, the baby stops crying and is content.
There’s too much going in Hip-Hop. All of a sudden, Lil Pump’s drip comes across my timeline. did I ask for that? NO. Do I want to immortalize it? YES! This generation needs to know what it has contributed to the game of Rap. And, far too often, is ridiculousness! This man has on a purple aux leather half jacket. He’s giving me 80’s vibes in this picture.
Nate Diaz, the famed MMA fighter, recently got into a scrap with a dude on the street. He promptly but the man to sleep. The thing is, Nate is literally the definition of a living weapon AND he’s got a few screws loose upstairs too. So, this could have been disastrous. I do not think he will be liable legally because it was self defense and he did kinda just choke him out. Unlike the caption, I do not think this dude was at risk of killing him. But that is my view….what do you think?
A man tried to steal TWO…not ONE, but a pair of Maseratis in a failed scam effort allegedly. This happened in Houston. The man, one Trevian Burns, tried to use someone else’s information to buy the cars, per the office of Constable Mark Herman. The 26-year old is charged with false statement to obtain credit. Looking at the mug shot, I cannot help but think this would not work out.
It looks like Lil Baby is having another lil baby. I am thinking that he may want to change his name to Lil Daddy or Big Daddy. This news just broke over the weekend, according to my sources (the internet).
Nick Cannon has assured fans that Jamie Foxx is “doing so much better” since he was hospitalized due to a medical complication.
While speaking to Entertainment Tonight for a new interview, “The Masked Singer” host was asked how his friend was doing following his hospitalization earlier this month.
“Man, I’m praying,” Nick told the outlet. “You see, I posted on Instagram. I literally have been saying prayers out loud.”
The television host called his social media activity “words of affirmation for my big brother,” adding, “I know he’s doing so much better because I’m actually about to do something special for him and doing him a favor.”
While Nick couldn’t “really say” what favor he was referring to, he teased, “It’ll be out there soon.”
He added, “I was reluctant to go all the way there, and even talk about it, but he gave me the blessing, so it’s a beautiful thing. He’s awake. They say he’s alert, so we love it.”
On April 12th, Foxx’s daughter Corinne announced on Instagram that her father had suffered an undisclosed “medical complication.” She assured fans that he was “already on his way to recovery” thanks to “quick action and great care.”
Days later, Nick posted a photo of him and Foxx on Instagram and asked for his followers to pray for the Oscar-winning star, writing, “Let’s all speak complete and total recovery for the most talented human on earth with a Spirit bigger than this small planet!!”
What is Star Power? As an acronym STAR stands for (S)omebody (T)hey’ll (A)lways (R)emember, and POWER equals (P)erformance (O)ptomized (W)ith (E)nhanced (R)ewards. The artist development team helps to create STAR POWER. Implementing an “artist development” program makes the difference between an artist having longevity in the music business or just being a “one-hit wonder.”
The legendary Berry Gordy put heavy emphasis on artist development at his Motown record label. Berry Gordy developed legends. He trained the Motown artists to have a regal aura. Tucker Carlson, a popular Fox News host, is parting ways with the conservative network after over two decades of service. His last show was April 21. He did not get to say “goodbye.”
Carlson’s departure comes at a time of significant upheaval within Fox News. The network has faced criticism from a multitude of places for its role in promoting false claims about the 2020 election, known largely as “The Big Lie” or “Trump’s Big Lie.” Furthermore, Fox News recently settled a defamation lawsuit for $787.5 million.
This news came as a shock for many viewers, as the conservative commentator was a staple of the network’s primetime lineup. “Tucker Carlson Tonight” raked in an average audience of 4.33 million viewers, the most of any cable news program in history.
Carlson has been one of the most influential and controversial figures in conservative media. “Tucker Carlson Tonight” spoke to their constituency on a range of issues, from immigration to race relations to COVID-19. He challenged liberal media narratives unapologetically and, oftentimes inaccurately.
Carlson’s departure raises questions about his future plans. Early speculation suggests he may be considering a run for political office, but he has yet to comment about his departure from Fox News. Clearly, there are going to be a plethora of new opportunities in media.
“We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” Fox News said in a statement.

“‘It’s All A Blur’ marks Drake’s return to touring since headlining Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour in 2018,” the “God’s Plan” rapper’s publicist shares. “The title, a celebration of the last decade, sums up Drake’s sentiment of the unprecedented run as he gets ready to hit the road.”
It’s All A Blur Tour Art
Adding, “In the last five years, Drake has released four albums, including his most recent studio album Her Loss in collaboration with 21 Savage, which reached number one on the Billboard’s 200 charts and had all 16 songs debuted on Billboard’s Hot 100 list.”
According to a press release, the tour, which is presented by Cash App, Visa, and Sprit and produced by Live Nation, will now be stopping in Columbus, Memphis, Denver, Austin, and Charlotte. Additional dates have also been added to the Glendale, Nashville, Inglewood, and Brooklyn shows.
Other changes to the tour schedule switch the dates to the New Orleans, Nashville, Houston, Dallas, Miami, and Atlanta shows originally slated between June 16, 2023 and July 2, 2023, but will be now rescheduled to take place between September 14, 2023 and October 2, 2023.
Not all fans like this.
One asked, “Did Drake just change the tour date for tickets I already bought.”
Few artists seem to have an enduring longevity of continued success but for Akon he’s an important staple in pop culture and Hip Hop. Having worked with some of the biggest superstars of the 21st century, T-pain, Lady Gaga, and the iconic Micheal Jackson to name a few.
What stands him out is his ability to not get stuck in an era but to continually evolve with the times and his most recent album (released exclusively on the streaming giant TikTok) is a testament to that.
Spring seems to have brought around a slew of new releases and one of the most exciting of those is the debut for the music video of his track Prolly Cut.
Very much with the feeling of a tropical party and showcasing his Enjoy That lifestyle, Prolly Cut is directed by the acclaimed Gabriella Kingsley who is perhaps most well known for her work on the FireBoy DML video for the song “Peru” featuring none other than Ed Sheeran as well as several Uk Grime Artist.
Akon certainly has been busy, having been on tour recently with Konvict Kultures’ First Lady Amirror. The track itself features Amirror, an incredibly talented rapper and the first female rapper to ever be signed to Akon’s Konvict Kulture. Amirror typified the times that the music industry lives in, an artist that has had huge social media success and I can only imagine, that with these cameos, sky is very much the limit with an artist of Amirror’s calibre.
Akon and Konvict Kulture’s media rep, Regina Daniels quoted “Prolly Cut is a dance-infused love note which is as much an ode to past as it is a message to the moment. It is a release of the emotions and a celebration of the diaspora.”
The track is a breath of fresh air, retaining the idiosyncrasies that make Akon unique whilst simultaneously feeling of the moment. It seems that in a year where the music industry stands still, Akon moves forward.
