Kylie Jenner is unfazed by criticism of her 2022 Met Gala outfit.
The reality TV star stepped out at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday wearing an Off-White gown comprised of a bustier and ruffled organza skirt and a veiled “thinking cap.”
During a video posted on her YouTube channel, Kylie shared footage of her preparation for the event, and despite a mixed reaction to the voluminous outfit, she insisted that she didn’t “care what people think” because it was a tribute to late fashion designer Virgil Abloh.
“I feel like I was supposed to go with Off-White because Virgil and I talked about this for the last two years. I was supposed to go with him in 2020, so it feels right that my Met come back I’m going with Off-White for sure,” she said. “It also puts off the pressure of what people think about my look because I love it so much. It’s so much more special to me that I don’t care what people think. It’s very special. I’ve already cried a few times.”
And Kylie noted that her good friend remained in her thoughts the entire day of the Met Gala.
“I wanted to do something big this year. Every year I’ve worn some type of tight mermaid dress, so this year I wanted to just wear something big, do something different,” the 24-year-old continued. “To be honest, I decided really last minute I wasn’t gonna go. I was like, ‘Unless I can go and honor Virgil and (his wife) Shannon would want me to go, and I would wear Off-White, then that’s the only reason I would go today.’ To honor him.”
Dom Kennedy is suing the City of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Board of Police Commissioners and the LAPD.
His class-action lawsuit aims to invalidate restrictive gun laws in Los Angeles. The veteran rapper and fellow plaintiff Garry Matthews claim the city’s firearms policies are unconstitutional.
“The City’s and the Board’s and LAPD’s unconstitutional ‘no-issue’ CCW policies (concealed weapons permit) and other unconstitutional gun control laws, which were officially adopted and promulgated by the City’s policymakers, caused [Dom Kennedy and Matthews] and the other members of the Arrest Class and the Nonresident Class to be arrested and detained merely for the permissible Second Amendment conduct of carrying a handgun for general self-defense outside the home or place of business,” the plaintiffs argue.
Dom Kennedy, whose real name is Dominic Hunn, and Matthews say Los Angeles’ licensing scheme violates the Second and Fourteenth Amendments. Both men believe they were unjustly arrested in the past.
“The two key, undisputed facts in this case are that there were no actions that the Plaintiffs or the other class members could have taken during the relevant time period that would have allowed them to carry a handgun for general self-defense in the City of Los Angeles,” their lawyer Jovan Blacknell contends. “(1) the City’s Police Chief refuses to issue CCWs for the lawful Second Amendment purpose of general self-defense; and (2) the City’s Police Chief vigorously enforces laws criminalizing carrying a handgun outside the home without a CCW.”
Blacknell notes, “By adopting and following a City policy of refusing to issue CCWs for general self-defense and then by adopting and following a City policy of strictly enforcing State laws prohibiting carrying a handgun outside the home without a CCW, the City violated their Second Amendment rights, and, in the case of Mr. Mathews and the Nonresident Class, the City violated their Fourteenth Amendment rights.”
Dom Kennedy and Matthews want the gun licensing scheme to be declared unconstitutional. They seek to have their arrests – and others like them – be ruled null and void.
They also call for everyone impacted by the laws to have their arrest and prosecution records sealed.
Dom Kennedy and Matthews request damages for themselves and others affected by the laws. The two want a jury to award additional funds to cover their attorney’s fees and court costs.
Rapper Yung Joc was busted over some family drama in a suburb of Atlanta late last week.
According to jail records, Yung Joc, born Jasiel Robinson, was booked into the Gwinnett County jail on May 5th.
The rapper was booked into the jail at 2:58 a.m. and hit with a charge of abandonment of a dependent child.
However, Joc spent less than an hour detained. The 41-year-old was released around 3:40 a.m. after posting a $1,300 bond.
Yung Joc confirmed he was arrested but appeared to make light of the situation. When asked for a statement, Yung Joc replied he was launching a comedy tour.
He claimed the name of the new tour would be titled “The Help Me Feed My Kids Tour.”
The couple tied the knot in November of 2021. Kendra discussed her relationship with Yung Joc during an interview with BET last month.
“We’ve been having a lot of fun, and we’ve both been trying to love each other harder and longer because tomorrow isn’t promised,” Kendra Robinson said. “We reflected on the long journey and the road we’ve been down to where we are. We did premarital counseling, and we’re currently in postmarital counseling with our pastor, who recommended both for us.”
So far, there’s no word if Yung Joc has retained an attorney or if his wife will represent him.

Kris Jenner is “happy” that Blac Chyna’s trial against her family is now over.
Chyna sued Kris and Kylie Jenner and Kim and Khloé Kardashian for defamation and contract interference, claiming they had derailed her television career and conspired to cancel her show “Rob & Chyna” after one season.
Variety’s Marc Malkin caught up with the Kardashian-Jenner momager at the Met Gala and asked about the trial and verdict.
Kris said, “I’m just happy it’s over,” and added that the most challenging part was simply “going through it.”
On how she handled the legal battle, Kris shared, “Pray, I live in my faith and just hope, you know, that’s enough. I’m glad it’s over for the girls. And we’re here tonight to celebrate.”
The family’s lawyer, Michael G. Rhodes, told reporters outside the courtroom that they were “exuberant” to hear about their win.
“I spoke to the family a minute ago, and they’re also very pleased. I hope they’re enjoying their gala,” he said. “They were emphatic in their expression of pleasure.”
Chyna’s lawyer, Lynne Ciani, said the plaintiff plans to appeal parts of the verdict. The 33-year-old is also suing her ex, Rob Kardashian, for assault, battery, and harassment.
It appears some Kardashian fans are also having some fun at Blac Chyna’s expense. Users with names like Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, and even Vladimir Putin have donated to Blac Chyna’s fundraiser.

Queen Latifah described how she instantly agreed to star in the CBS show when the project was in development back in 2019 and is happy to be a part of a program that tackles important social issues, including parenthood, racism, and immigration.

The man that attacked comedian Dave Chappelle has been charged for assaulting the funnyman on stage during his show at the Hollywood Bowl on Tuesday, May 3rd.
However, according to Chappelle’s attorney, he will not be hit with a felonious count for bringing a weapon on the stage in the sneak attack.
Instead, Isaiah Lee, 23, pleaded not guilty to four misdemeanor charges. Lee was initially arrested for the felonious charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
According to the New York Post, Gabriel Colwell, Chappelle’s lawyer, “It’s a travesty of justice that DA [George] Gascòn is refusing to prosecute this case as a felony.”
“The City Attorney, who filed the case, is doing his job,” the attorney explained. “But DA Gascón should also do his job and charge this as a felony.”
Colwell continued, “This was a violent assault that was perpetrated on an unsuspecting entertainer while he was giving a show in front of thousands of people at the historic Hollywood Bowl. The idea that [Lee] had a deadly weapon on him — one that was a replica of a handgun that had a knife — that is a violent assault.”
Police released an image of the knife that Lee brought on stage. The body was shaped like a gun, but the top was a blade.
“Entertainers in LA need to know this is a justice system that will protect them. There is no question here that when someone is violently assaulted by another in possession of a deadly weapon that it should be charged as a felony.”
The District Attorney said they would not have been able to prosecute Lee on a felony charge because he did not swing or flash the knife at Chappelle during the attack. If they had, it would have been unethical.
The Los Angeles D.A.’s office statement said: “Our office also could not charge Mr. Lee with a felony of carrying a concealed weapon. Filing that charge would only be allowed if the blade is locked in an open position. It does not appear that Mr. Lee opened the knife at any time during this incident.”
“We evaluated the possibility of filing other charges as well but found the evidence did not meet the statutory criteria for any felony offense. All misdemeanor matters within the city of Los Angeles are referred to the City Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
“It would be unethical to charge someone with a felony when the elements of the statute are not met.”
An arrest has been made in an incident where a comedian was attacked while on stage at the Hollywood Bowl. Isaiah Lee was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon and bail is set at $30,000.
After the attack, Chappelle’s team stomped Lee out. Lee sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital. He was then placed in jail and released on $30,000 bail.
Deputy District Attorney Jon Hatami disagreed with his boss. He said, “Anyone who arms themselves with a deadly weapon, in this case, a knife, and violently attacks an innocent person, famous or not, should be charged accordingly.”
“With only a misdemeanor charge, the person could be released soon, with only a slap on the wrist. That fails to provide justice to the victim, accountability for this person’s actions, and safety to the general public. These concepts, however, like public safety and justice, that most of us value, are concepts George Gascón can care less about.”
Drake joined Jack Harlow at the Louisville rapper’s hometown to shoot the music video for their new song, “Churchill Downs,” at the home of the Kentucky Derby on Saturday (May 7).
While they were there to shoot the visuals for the track and take in a day of racing, the pair also found time to relax. They chatted happily for an interview before Drake revealed, “We’re drunk.” he corrected himself and added, “He’s sober, I’m drunk.”

According to his Instagram, Drake bet $550,000 on the Charles Oliveira vs. Justin Gaethje at the UFC 274. He captioned it, “Big Weekend Energy.”

Rapper-turned-publisher-turned-reality tv star Ray Benzino is on a Twitter rampage, blasting everyone that has caused him any woes over his career, including his most recent scandals.
He started his tirade on Thursday, May 5th, with a morning post rapping he was “hated by many,” “wanted by plenty,” “disliked by some,” and “confronted by none.”
He wrote, “Listen we all know that @Eminem is a great artist and sold millions of units and deserves any award coming to him, all I’m saying is let’s not forget the legends who paved the way before him. The RRHOF has to recognize everyone if it truly represents Hip Hop.”
While there may be validity in his argument, with fans asking how Nas, Naughty by Nature, or Salt-N-Pepa are not in the annals of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yet, there is an undercurrent of biased history in his comments.
Benzino and Eminem have had drama in the past that notoriously stopped the rapper from being featured in The Source magazine, a publication Benzino co-owned, for years.
The beef ultimately ended with Benzino and Dave Mays losing control of The Source magazine after investors felt they were terrible for the business.
After thrashing Eminem on Twitter this week, Benzino decided that everyone could get the smoke, especially the transwoman who alleged the two were in a relationship.
“Now now this is the last time I even address this goofy s###. Now first the MAN/BEAST/HE/SHE said we were in a relationship and said I was hiding HIM/IT. Then HE/SHE/IT does an interview and says we actually never met in person and HE/SHE/IT/BEAST turned down my advances,” Benzino snarled.
“Now the MAN/BEAST/HE/SHE does a wack ass song and which HE/SHE/IT doesn’t actually rap in it but says I gave HE/SHE/IT some head. Now RATMAN [50 Cent] posts a video with HE/SHE/IT IS posing in UNDERWEAR. all while the MAN/BEAST/HE/SHE/IT keeps tagging Love and Hip Hop.”
Benzino turned his attention to 50 Cent, who seems to never miss a beat when it comes to clowning the Boston native. When Shauna Brooks dropped her diss track against Benzino, Fif was quick to post the music video.

The reality TV star is under investigation for criminal battery after she allegedly attacked a woman, kicking her in the stomach. The incident occurred after a dispute in a Los Angeles bar in the early hours of Friday morning (May 6).
According to TMZ, law enforcement sources say a report filed Friday named Blac Chyna as the suspect in a battery. Cops are investigating.
The outlet also spoke to the alleged victim, Sequoya King, who says she was at the bar when Blac Chyna accused her of filming her. The pair began arguing, and Blac Chyna allegedly snatched the phone out of King’s hands, smashing it on the ground. Chyna then charged at her, kicking her in the stomach, causing her to fall.

A statement posted on the Facebook page of Sequoya King adds further details. “For those of you who missed my post earlier this morning I was assaulted by Blacc Chyna! My phone was snatched by her and destroyed and while trying to defend myself she kicked me in my stomach.”
King also states she wants to “expose” Blac Chyna after failing to settle the matter amicably and she accused the influencer of abusing drugs. She claims she wants her phone replaced and is speaking out to prevent the TV star from attacking anyone else.
“I have done everything to resolve the matter peacefully but at this point she has to be exposed !!!” King continued in the statement. “Stop doing drugs sis it’s not a good look. I have been disrespected yet still remained humble. It’s not about the money I just want a new phone, and she has to be held responsible for her actions!!! Moving forward I will take all measures to make sure she is not able to do any more bodily harm to anyone else!!!”
