Jared Woodson is a 26-year-old hip-hop artist who goes by the stage name ‘Alyst.’ His latest single, ‘Gleeming,’ has set music streaming platforms ablaze while it’s on rotation at BET. Born in Paducah, KY, Jared is reckoned as the Kentucky kid with a Grammy vision. Here’s what we know about the star who carries an inimitable style.
Relationship with Music
Jared’s roots are set in music. He comes from a family that has a long relationship with music. While Jared’s mother is an international singer, his father was the pianist for Michael Jackson on his Thriller tour.
After his graduation, Jared decided to move to New York City to pursue his cherished dream of winning a Grammy. Using his stage name ‘Alyst,’ he has collaborated with several prominent artists, been on different podcasts and radio stations, and enjoys a large fan following.
His song has been featured on the Number 1 hip-hop radio station (Hot 97,) and he has plans to release an original hip-hop album soon.
Pursuing his passion for Hip-Hop
Being at the topmost level in a single field of work is a feat that very few people achieve in their lives, but achieving this level at a relatively young age is not just unique but almost rare.
Jared Woodson dreams of bringing a new sound to the hip-hop scene and completely revolutionizing the present hip-hop universe with his unique style and creations. This is in no way a far-fetched dream, says Jared.
With his talent, work ethic, and determination, the day does not seem too far when we might see Jared Woodson, aka ‘Alyst,’ win a Grammy.
Nelly is in the news once again. The brother, who is almost 50 years old, has a sex tape in circulation across the Internet. Come on brah!
He accidentally, and allegedly posted a video of himself getting oral sex from a woman. He is not in the video, at least his face is not, but he did show up on his Instagram live feed. Seemingly an accident, the video was erased relatively quickly. But, as you know the Internet, somebody screenshotted and distributed online.
Roughly 3,000,000 people were able to witness it if you go and assume all of his followers went to see it. Anyway! It went viral, especially on Twitter.
Twitter is clearly in the more interactive platform and therefore the comments were hilarious! I know we reported on all of this, but we did not update to say: he said sorry!
Since he is Peter was made public, Nelly has since apologized for the incident.
“I sincerely apologize to the young lady and her family, this is unwanted publicity for her/them. This was an old video that was private and never meant to go public.”

Team Nelly is scared he may have a breach in security.
YNW Melly is hoping to avoid the death penalty as his murder trial approaches.
The incarcerated rapper’s legal team has filed motions in an effort to take the death penalty off the table. The defense argues that prosecutors haven’t met the criteria to justify the harsh punishment.
Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty, claiming YNW Melly committed murder in a “cold, calculated and premeditated manner.” His defense took issue with the use of that description in a motion filed on Monday (February 7).
“This aggravating factor is unconstitutionally vague and overbroad, is not capable of a constitutionally adequate narrowing construction and has been applied in an arbitrary and inconsistent manner,” the defense argued.
Prosecutors listed four aggravating factors in their notice to seek the death penalty. Four months ago, the defense says it submitted a mitigation package to dispute those factors being proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
YNW Melly’s legal team contends that even if the burden of proof was met, the death penalty still wouldn’t be appropriate in the case. They also say the mitigation package was supposed to be sent to a Death Penalty Review Committee for a final decision, but it still hadn’t been received as of February 3.
The defense doesn’t believe the mitigation package will be reviewed in time for the trial, which is scheduled to begin on March 7. They’ve asked the court to compel the state to send the package to the committee or drop the death penalty.
YNW Melly is facing two counts of first-degree murder. He’s accused of killing his friends Anthony Williams a.k.a. YNW Sakchaser and Christopher Thomas Jr. a.k.a. YNW Juvy in 2018.
Nelly was trending for the wrong reasons after an explicit video of him surfaced online.
Footage of the veteran rapper getting pleasured was uploaded to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday (February 8). The uncensored video had social media buzzing as “Damn Nelly” trended on Twitter.
Nelly issued an apology via TMZ after the clip spread online. He didn’t mention if he accidentally posted the video, but his team suggested he may have been hacked.
“I sincerely apologize to the young lady and her family,” Nelly told TMZ. “This is unwanted publicity for her/them. This was an old video that was private and never meant to go public.”
Barstool Sports podcaster Kevin Clancy believes Nelly learned about the explicit footage going public during an interview on KFC Radio. Clancy posted a clip of the diamond-selling artist reacting to something on his phone in the middle of their conversation.
“Deadass I think this is the exact moment on @KFCradio that Nelly realized he posted his sex tape to his Instagram,” Clancy wrote. “’ohhh god.’”
Clancy was just one of the many Twitter users commenting on the shocking footage. Stunned reactions and jokes flooded social media as the Nelly clip gained attention.
Check out some of the chatter below.

NBA YoungBoy is still in his early 20s, yet he’s already racked up a staggering amount of gold and platinum certifications.
The Baton Rouge native has surpassed Future and J. Cole in terms of singles and albums certified by the Recording Industry Association of America. NBA YoungBoy eclipsed them by securing 13 certifications from the RIAA on February 4.
NBA YoungBoy has 71 gold-selling singles and four gold-selling albums in total. He also has 38 platinum-selling songs and five platinum-selling projects. 10 of those tracks have achieved multi-platinum status.
Although NBA YoungBoy is doing well in the sales department, he’s currently at odds with his label. He recently accused Atlantic Records of blackballing him.
“Why black ball me I’m the good guy!!!??” he wrote on YouTube. “I was going #1 two weeks straight with a mixtape so they took it down off the charts. I don’t give a f### you still can’t stop me don’t sign to Atlantic if you a artist they not gone support you especially if you live a certain way.”
NBA YoungBoy was referring to his latest mixtape Colors, which dropped on January 21. The tape debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard to become the eighth Top 10 project of his career.
An associate of the Island Boys was arrested for allegedly killing an 8-year-old girl.
According to multiple reports, police raided the TikTok stars’ home in Coral Springs, Florida on Monday (February 7). Cops apprehended murder suspect Andrew James Thomas, who’s accused of killing 8-year-old Ronziyah Atkins in a drive-by shooting last week.
Alex Venegas a.k.a. Flyysoulja was in the house when the raid occurred. The Island Boys were not implicated in the death of Atkins.
Thomas is a childhood friend of the Venegas brothers. The Island Boys’ manager Dovi Bezner said the 20-year-old suspect crashed at the duo’s home for a few days.
“We had no idea any of this was going on, really,” Bezner told WPBF 25. “We just knew him as a quiet kid and he would come and hang out and do his thing and go back to whatever he got going on, but we had no clue about any of these allegations toward him. We just knew him as a good person, someone who grew up with the Island Boys.”
Thomas was booked into Broward County Jail. He faces charges of first-degree murder with a firearm, attempted first-degree murder with a firearm and felon in possession of a firearm.
After the death of rapper Young Dolph in November, Tennessee politicians are sponsoring a bill to honor the Memphis (by way of Chicago) artist.
The goal is to create a day of service in his honor and inspire people to give back to the community as he did.
Rep. Torrey C. Harris (D-Memphis-D90) and former Sen. Katrina Robinson have sponsored the bill to create the “Adolph Thornton Day of Service.”
The bill titled SB1672/HB2035 says Young Dolph, whose real name is Adolph Thornton, “was an exemplary gentleman and consummate professional who worked assiduously to improve the quality of life for his fellow citizens in numerous capacities.”
It heralded Young Dolph’s philanthropic efforts, noting that he donated $50,000 to his alma mater, generously contributed to the Tennessee Arts Academy Foundation, and gave motivational speeches to students across the state.
The bill mentioned his visits with patients and staff at the West Clinic and how he hosted an annual Back to School Block Party for kids. At the Back to School Block Party, he donated school supplies and backpacks to youth.
Dolph, who was raised primarily by his grandmother in South Memphis since he was four years old, also hosted Mother’s Day brunches for victims of domestic violence and individuals dealing with substance abuse.
It reads in part, “November 17th of each year is to be observed as the ‘Adolph Thornton Day of Service,’ to celebrate the memory, music, and community service contributions of Adolph’ Young Dolph’ Thornton and to encourage Tennesseans to help others.”
While it will not be a legal holiday, it will be a great way to continue his legacy.
As of late, Joe Rogan’s reckless mouth is causing much controversy. First off, his dubious COVID-19 beliefs are causing many artists to flee Spotify. However, it is his gratuitous use of the N-word which is vexing many people. Be that as it may, J. Prince vows, “Joe Rogan is Not a Racist.” Of course, Twitter distinctly responds.
After, the matter-of-fact posts appears on his official Instagram account, the H-Town jefe states his piece. Simply put, he starts off, ” Joe Rogan is not a racist. I know this brother.” Nonetheless, to better substantiate his sentiment the Rap-A-Lot boss boasts, ” It takes a sincere individual to admit when they are wrong and have f##### up about a situation.”
Moreover, the proven peacemaker then asserts, “As you can hear he’s done that and I forgive him because I never want to become one of those people that are filled with un-forgiveness and hate, that we complain about all the time.”
Finally, the esteemed entrepreneur adds, ” Let this be an example to others of the sensitivity of the word “n####” being said by anybody other than a n#### lol” Even though, the woeful podcaster has an unforeseen ally in J. Prince, the public is not here for his hateful shenanigans.
Of course, social media is collectively is responding to the apt assertion. So now, an array of visceral Twitter posts are taking aim at these somewhat confusing remarks. Above, all many social media users directly address the issue of Joe Rogan.
Furthermore, a collective bafflement is gripping the masses. A concerned voice contends, “J Prince sendin goons for n##### over jokes but defending the white man’s right to say n#####. F##### bozo,” so says @20pcLP. Then, @FACTUALOPINION0 offers an amusing quip. “J prince should change the label name to tap-a-lot records.”
Additionally, the flagrant use of the embittered racial slur is akin to Rogan auditioning for a Tarantino flick. Granted, it is obvious that Mr. Prince gives him a pass for using the racist term. On the other hand, the masses refuse the hollow apology.
If J Prince said Joe Rogan ain’t racist then I guess he ain’t racist.
After many fans speculated that Hart was behind the hilarious prank, the comedian re-posted the image to his social media accounts and confessed it was his idea.
“I see u got my gift @nickcannon ….GOTCHA B**CH!!!!!!….Now u don’t have an excuse because the condoms are free #PrankWars (sic),” he posted, to which his friend replied, “This is not a laughing matter Kevin!!!!”
Nick Cannon hit headlines last year after becoming a father to three children in the same month.
The 41-year-old welcomed twins Zion and Zillion with Abby De La Rosa and son Zen with Alyssa Scott in June. Sadly, Zen passed away following a battle with cancer in December.
He is also father to 10-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with his ex-wife Mariah Carey, and also shares two children – Golden and Powerful Queen – with Brittany Bell.
Rapper Tyga can breathe a sigh of relief after the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office decided that he will not be facing criminal charges related to his October domestic violence case.
According to TMZ, the “Light It Up” rapper was handed a big break but will have to stay on the straight and narrow for at least a year as a part of his agreement with the prosecutors.
Tyga will also have to take classes and sit with authorities to help him navigate conflict resolution options. If he fails to comply with the boundaries of this agreement, the state could still file misdemeanor charges on the rapper.
In October 2021, Camaryn Swanson, the artist’s ex-girlfriend, said that he physically abused her after the two got in an argument. Swanson filed charges, and Tyga turned himself in to local authorities.
His bail was set for $50,000, for the domestic violence incident and he has been out since then.
The prosecution’s leniency could have been predicted.
The L.A. County D.A. shot it over to the Los Angeles City’s Attorney’s Office — with the understanding that with that department, the most significant penalty would be hitting him with a misdemeanor.
Swanson, who made the domestic violence allegation, says that the media has misrepresented her.
“My intentions were never to go public with this,” she wrote.
“Unfortunately ‘someone’ released a false narrative to TMZ painting me out to be somebody I am not, accusing me of things that did not happen and that I did not do. With that being said I took matters into my own hands and posted the TRUTH with proof tagging tmz AFTER they released the fake news.”
The two still hang out despite the domestic violence accusations but are not romantic.
Wait did $not smash Doja Cat or is this song “Doja” just a SMASH? We dunno what really happened there but this song is absolutely lit. $not has a completely different style separating himself from a host of rappers in the game so when he teamed up with Rihanna’s baby daddy we knew this was going to be an instant classic to runback. Joined by A$AP Rocky for an undeniably fire verse we can’t help but want more from $not. Luckily this is like two videos in one with a tribute to Virgil at the end.
Kanye West and Jason Lee joined forces to bring 50 Black journalists together to discuss reclaiming the narrative, disparities in Black media, and the importance of ownership at Ye’s ‘The Future Brunch.’
Ye expressed his desire to create a movement rather than a moment when elevating the culture, having equity, and telling Black stories.
West expressed that he only wanted to look forward not backwards, hence the ‘The Future Brunch’ title. He also shared his desire to invest in Black media.
“Me and Virgil believed in black design,” said Ye. “Now we need to invest in Black media.”
Hollywood Unlocked’s Jason Lee and Meta’s Michelle Mitchell opened the floor to discuss breaking the barriers in media, cancelling cancel culture, and ensuring Black voices are humanized when our stories are told.
Following the conversation, Kanye’s Sunday Service performed for those in attendance.
Although they have been seen together often, they have tried to keep the relationship low-key and haven’t spoken about it directly in public.
However, Pete Davidson shed some light on their relationship status when he referred to Kardashian, 41, as his “girlfriend” during an interview with “People (The TV Show!)” about his new Super Bowl ad.
Discussing life in the limelight, he said, “Well, I don’t really have Instagram – I don’t have Instagram or Twitter or any of that stuff. So, most of my daily life is getting into cars and showing up to a set… Or, if I’m off, I just either hang with my friends or chill with my girlfriend inside. So I don’t do much.”
The 28-year-old added that the interest in him has almost “zero” impact on his day-to-day life.
“Once in a while, someone will scream something at you, or it might be hard to get Dunkin’ Donuts. But other than that, it’s pretty fine. It’s not awful. It could be way worse,” Pete Davidson quipped.
The couple first shared a kiss during an Aladdin-themed sketch on Saturday Night Live.
In October, they first sparked romance rumors when they were snapped holding hands on a rollercoaster ride at an amusement park in Southern California.
Recently, an illustrious gossip rag is reporting that the City Girls are “officially OVER.” Of course, this baseless allegation is arousing angst in many of their day-one supporters. Therefore, JT blasts online trolls wondering if City Girls are breaking up.
Immediately following, Yung Miami’s birthday party, unfounded rumors started swirling. After that celebratory event, I-spy-internet-detectives are purporting that the Rap duo are on the outs. Since, Ms. Johnson was not at the party there must be trouble in paradise. Que the gasps.
However, the “Jobs” spitter vehemently volunteers her side of the story. Although, she did not attend her counterpart’s celebration, she confidently explains why. Thus, the “Girl Code” lyricist does not take well to being accused of treacherous behaviors.
So, she took the time and straightens out any misunderstandings. Even though, the question appears easy enough. Yet, the “Rodeo” rhymer curtly rattles off her clapback. “but no fr why jt never come to her birthday events?”
At any rate, the “Act Up” entertainer takes the time to address the inquiry. She candidly quips, “B#### don’t ever write this page again you want a reply?? Here’s your moment!” Next, JT offers even more descriptive language. “Ghost face nasty wig! 2015 birthday dress, ugly ass shoes! Little ass girl stay in your little ass place!
Additionally, the Liberty City includes a more thorough explanation. Soon, she adds, Her birthdays are always out of the country! I’ve been in prison or probation since y’all known us! Moreover, she mentions, “Her birthday is February the11th, I couldn’t make the 3rd because of something that’s not y’all business.”
Uncompromising in his defense for the rights of fellow African-Americans, T. Thomas Fortune fought for justice throughout his long career as a journalist.
Timothy Thomas Fortune was born into slavery in 1856. His parents were Sarah Jane and Emanuel Fortune. Throughout his childhood, Thomas regularly witnessed the violence from the Ku Klux Klan, motivated by extreme political views.
Fortune’s father was one of the two African-Americans elected as delegates in Florida’s constitutional convention. After being targeted by the Klan, his father was forced to flee, and Thomas became the man of the house.
With no more than three years of education, Fortune still enrolled at Howard University in 1874. He was an avid reader and a keen learner, but a difficult financial situation forced him to leave after just one year.
However, he did manage to complete a few law courses.
After leaving college, T. Thomas Fortune taught at a school in Florida and worked for the Jacksonville Daily Union. However, he quickly realized that he faced an uphill battle living as an African-American in Florida.
So, he moved to New York and took the lessons he had gained from growing up in a period of Reconstruction.
During the 1880s, Fortune became frustrated with how both the Democrats and the Republicans handled the protection of Black American rights in the South.
He frequently published articles supporting political independence and castigated both.
In 1881, the New York Globe was launched, and Fortune succeeded John F. Quarles as editor. The Globe, along with its successors, the New York Freeman and New York Age, was widely heralded as the most outstanding “race papers” in America.
Fortune was forced to leave the Globe after it was declared that it would become a Republican paper. The Republican Party refused to subsidize the paper until Fortune left his post.
By 1884, Fortune had decided that the country needed a national organization to fight for all African-Americans’ political and civil rights. He suggested that this should resemble an all-black version of the Irish National League.
In 1890, the Afro-American League was formed to protect Black voters in the South and end the lynching.
The organization also worked to ensure that school funds were equalized for both races. The organization gained support from both the Black press and conventions.
However, leading Black politicians refused to support it, so the league folded in 1893.
T. Thomas Fortune formed a working relationship with Booker T. Washington, who later became a direct advisor for Theodore Roosevelt on matters of race.
Under immense pressure in his professional life, Fortune suffered from issues with his mental health. Towards the end of his life, Fortune explored various writing assignments. He died in Philadelphia.
The Paper The Negro World published a Eulogy naming him as one of the leaders in improving the lives of Black Americans at that time, placing his work above that of Booker T. Washington while rivaling Frederick Douglass.
The work of T. Thomas Fortune paved the way for the campaigns of the likes of the NAACP, Malcolm X, and Stokely Carmichael. Like Dr. Martin Luther King, Fortune used his skills with the written word to call for love and unity between races, despite his horrific early years.
T. Thomas Fortune is featured as a character in HBO’s new hit series “The Gilded Age.”

The year 2022 is starting to be one of the bloodiest years in New York’s Hip-Hop history. Already, and within two weeks, the horrific gunplay has claimed the lives of two rappers and injured one.
The latest victim is a drill rapper from the BX, Chii WVTTz.
The Daily News reports that on Sunday, February 6th, Chii WVTTz, an 18-year-old whose real name is Jayquan McKenley, was ambushed while sitting in a parked car after leaving a studio in Bedstuy, Brooklyn.
Police and family say that he left a recording studio around 2:15 a.m. after spending Saturday evening in the recording studio. He was attacked on Greene and Lewis Aves while he was chilling with his girl and a few other members from his squad.
Law enforcement asserts it was that time, while the crew was getting ready to leave, that a car rolled up and blasted them.
According to his mother’s cousin, Shawn Holmes, “Jayquan was a good kid. He had a very kind heart, and he had a passion for rapping.”
The 46-year-old continued talking about his little cousin, saying, “Music was something he was passionate about.”
Chii WVTTz has only been making drill music for about a year. In 2021, he put out the song “Sanctioned.” Almost a week before he died, he dropped a song with D MUNNA 1HUNNA called “FUCC ALL DA BEEF.”
People took to social media to mourn the loss.
“Rip C-HII WVTTZ this hurt me we been locked in, spoke the day before and he was going to be signed to 100k under my management. My condolences to his family #CHIIWVTTZ,” SainttPaul said.

Recently, a 2001 Suge Knight interview is bubbling to the surface. In fact, the Last Call with Carson Daly expose contains shocking allegations. However, an insistent Memphis Bleek refutes Suge Knight’s wacky Jay Z rumor.
Moreover, the former Death Row boss is seen, almost gleefully, recalling the so-called incident. Indeed, the incarcerated icon charges that some L.A. goonies get the best of Mr. Carter. Additionally, Mr. West Coast reportedly professes that Jay Z becomes taped up, gagged and robbed.
Then, Marion matter-of-factly mentions, “The only thing I know about Jay-Z is that he came to L.A. a few times.” Next, Sugar Bear suggests, “Snoop and Dre told him that, ‘When you on the west coast, you wrote a song for me, don’t worry ’bout nothin’.'”
Next, Suge Knight relishes his recollection of the suspect situation. Most importantly, offers more insight of the alleged event. “Next thing I know he’s taped up, robbed, and gagged.” Although, he confesses, “I do like Jay Z,” he declines to name the alleged perpetrators. A soul-satisfying laugh serves as the exclamation point.
Nonetheless, Mr. Understanding is emphatically dispelling this salacious rumor. Of course the Brooklynite boldly declares the circumstance is purely fictitious. So, he hops on Twitter and shoots down the alleged archaic event.
Naturally, the Warehouse Music Group leader contradicts the confusing allegation. First, a Twitter user pointedly inquires about the proposed episode. So, Mr. Cox comes out metaphorically swinging.
Immediately, Memphis Bleek confidently conteds, “ever cap in the world. In addition, an array of distinguished “caps” are used to affirm his account.
Griselda emcee Benny the Butcher linked up with Dreamville leader J. Cole for “Johnny P’s Caddy.” The collaboration has now become one of Benny’s biggest commercial hits to date.
Benny The Butcher and J. Cole’s “Johnny P’s Caddy” debuted at #72 on Billboard‘s most recent Hot 100 chart. This marks Benny’s first official entry on the weekly rankings.
“Johnny P’s Caddy” has also found success on YouTube. The track’s official music video amassed over 4.6 million views on the platform. Those visuals are currently trending at #18 in YouTube’s music section.
While Benny The Butcher is breaking onto the Hot 100 chart for the first time, the Buffalo native previously placed two releases on the Billboard 200. 2020’s Burden Of Proof peaked at #29. 2021’s The Plugs I Met 2 with Harry Fraud peaked at #33.
Both Burden Of Proof and The Plugs I Met 2 ranked in the Top 20 on the Top Rap Albums chart. Four of Benny The Butcher’s projects made it onto Billboard’s Independent Albums chart as well.
J. Cole now has 63 career entries on the Hot 100. The North Carolina-raised rapper’s “Deja Vu” (#7) and “Middle Child” (#4) crested in the Top 10. Six of Cole’s albums spent one week, respectively, atop the Billboard 200.
