Update: Yasiin Bey Drops Out Of Thelonious Monk Biopic After Pianist’s Estate Condemns Movie

UPDATE 7/22/2021 2:20PM EST: Yasiin Bey has dropped out of playing Thelonious Monk, after the estate of the revered pianist came forward to reveal they had not approved the film.

Yasiin released a statement expressing his disappointment with the unexpected turn of events.

“If the Monk estate is not happy with it, if Mr. Monk III is not happy with it then neither am I. To be clear I was given every indication by the production company that the family was on board. It was one of my primary questions. I took them at that word at their word and clearly that wasn’t the case. I can’t lie I’m super excited still if there’s an opportunity to tell this type of story, but in the right way and only with with the estate’s approval and… full involvement and acceptance so that’s that,” Yasiin Bey said.

Rapper Yasiin Bey snagged a high profile acting role in an upcoming biopic on jazz legend Thelonious Monk.

Thelonious will center around the piano players extraordinary musical ability, his battle with mental health, and the love triangle with his wife, and his patron/lover, Nica Rothschild.

The biopic is being produced by Los Angeles-based production company Jupiter Rising Film.

“Thelonious Sphere Monk. A leader. A Lord. A shape in space. A man from a community of devotion who lives a simple life distant from society. The adjectives. can never be nouns. Love. is a verb. The Future has already happened. And Forever. is a current event. Jupiter and team,” Bey said.

This is not Yasiin’s first time playing a famous musician.

He starred as Chuck Berry in the hit movie “Cadillac Records” opposite Beyoncé Knowles, who starred as Etta James.

Yasiin has also had high profile roles in movies like “The Italian Job,” Next Day Air,” and “The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy.”

“This role is one that requires great depth and a unique understanding of who and what Thelonious Monk was and how his lasting impact can still be heard throughout the music world today,” explained Jupiter Rising Film co-founder and producer Alberto Marzan.

“The moment I met Yasiin I knew we found our Thelonious. It’s an honor to be the first to tell this important story in an epic way since it’s never been told before, we are swinging for the fences on this one. It’s a luxury to be the team to tell this important story,” Marzan continued.

Production on Thelonious is slated to begin Summer 2022.

Premiere: 88 Killa Looks to Plant Ft. Worth’s Flag on the National Stage With Upcoming Project; Releases “Risk” Music Video

If you’ve had your eye to the ground of the Texas music scene, you know that 88 Killa has been around.

The Ft. Worth, TX rapper was once a member of the now defunct Brain Gang, a late-2000s influential punk-rap group that laid the framework for the DFW Metroplex to be the burgeoning hip-hop hotspot that it is today.

Back then, he went by Killa MC, and his bandmates included Def Jam artist and Grammy winner Bobby Sessions, former Aftermath/Interscope signee Justus, and a stable of in-house producer and songwriters such as Brandon Blue, who would produce songs for the likes of Mac Miller, ScHoolboy Q, Kendrick Lamar, among others.

Following the disbanding of Brain Gang, 88 Killa would change his stage name and release a slew of projects, including 2016’s award-winning 88 BPM, before signing to London-based record label DEFDISCO.

He continued to perform regionally before leaving his label on his own accord to forge his path via his own imprint, 81G Records. Fast forward to 2021 and 88 Killa is ready to take all of the life and industry experience he has garnered over the past decade plus and release his first proper full-length album.

Today, we’re excited to premiere the first video, “Risk,” from his untitled forthcoming album.

88 Killa was very candid describing the song and video stating, “This song was written to inspire all of the people that had to get outside and make something happen, despite the world being turned upside down. Written during the thick of quarantine and with a baby on the way, I had to make a decision to either sit back and starve or take a risk and provide a means for us to not go without.”

Check out the song and video below and keep an eye on this rising star from the 817!

Lupe Fiasco Fires Back At Royce With “Steve Jobs”

Goodness. The summer is half over, but there’s quite a lot more heat, I see. I have to say upfront, I underestimated Lupe Fiasco. Now, I like both these guys! They are both SUPERIOR RAPPERS and criminally underrated. If they did a song together, most people wouldn’t bat an eye. So…Lupe Fiasco responds to Royce’s diss, “Silence of the Lambda” within HOURS. Not only does he respond, but he name checks the song to let us know it wasn’t completely pre-written. Some have suggested that Lupe is simply free styling off the dome, which is why he was able to come out so fast. It does have that vibe so it may be a bit of both. Lupe’s “Steve Jobs” is here:

If you can’t see the mastery here, you been watching too many URL gun bar battles. This sh#t is chess at WORST. I know Royce is in the War Room plotting the next move. I applaud Lupe, he’s came back at Royce far faster that I thought. He blazed back. Royce’s jab was super soft and I get it: that’s what you supposed to do. What he does next is what truly matters. He has by the end of the day. At BEST end of the week. This Lupe reply is the best diss in years for me.

Here is Royce’s:

Royce Da 5′ 9″ Releases Lupe Fiasco Diss “Silence Of The Lambda”

Royce Da 5′ 9″ Releases Lupe Fiasco Diss “Silence Of The Lambda”

Royce da 5′ 9” has crafted a new diss record against his podcast cohost Lupe Fiasco. I thought these guys were a little bit closer than this but it seems that they really weren’t. Royce didn’t go all out on the song, but he certainly gave Lupe something to think about. He said next time he won’t be so nice.

As you may know, this all has been bubbling for quite some time.

I believe that some spirited banner about battle rap turned into this. I could be wrong, and correct me if I am, but Lupe seemed to be continually jabbing Royce lyrically. I didn’t bear witness to all of it, but it seemed like he was doing it for the sport of it. But to me, it seemed like the battle rappers got involved and then the talks took a different tone. As you know, battle rap is a blood sport. As rappers and lyricists, it seemed like Royce and Lupe were setting the stage for a URL-type of event. Then this happened:

Silence of the Lambda!

The first thing I thought of was this:

This Lambda Lambda Lambda the Nerd Fraternity (with the Black gay dude EARLY) that was represented in “Revenge of the Nerds.” Well, you can see where this is going, right?

The second thing I thought about was this:

Silence Of The Lambs Animated GIF | Silence of the lamb, Anthony hopkins hannibal lecter, Anthony hopkins
Hannibal Lecteur GIFs - Get the best GIF on GIPHY

Yall better leave Royce alone!

I have no doubt that Lupe is somewhere writing, but I do not think this is what he expected when he commanded Royce to “start practicing.” I do not think that Royce, a 20 year vet, needs to practice, but I could be wrong. If he did, he hopped right to it and dropped a mini-bomb. On IG, he alluded to a bigger bomb being in the cut if Lupe decided to get froggy and leap. “1,430 words. Free of charge…. 🤞🏿 Next time… It’s gon cost you dearly 🌹,” he said on IG. He then posts the full version in another post, which is below.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CRoAQspBNYB/

WELP! I could AGAIN be wrong and correct me if I am, but it seems Lupe let Lux and Mook get in his head. They gassed him up! They do that battle rap all day! If we thought Royce and Lupe was a stunt to get dudes in a battle rap battle, we may have been wrong. Looks like we have an old fashioned battle battle. I hope they exchange bars and then shake hands.

U.S. Rep. Sean Casten Delivers Speech Inspired By Megan Thee Stallion’s “Hot Girl Summer”

U.S. Congressman Sean Casten (D-IL) decided a Megan Thee Stallion song was the best way to kick off what he is calling #HotFERCSummer. The Illinois-based politician took to the floor of the House of Representatives to deliver a speech about the Energy PRICE Act.

Rep. Caston introduced the Energy PRICE Act which seeks to clarify that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has the responsibility to ensure that electric utilities take into account greenhouse gas emissions when setting utility rates. Rep. Jared Huffman (D-CA), Mike Levin (D-CA), and Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR) co-sponsored the bill.

“Madam Speaker, I trust most of my colleagues have heard of ‘Hot Girl Summer’ and the broader Megan Thee Stallion oeuvre. Well, I rise today to declare the start of ‘Hot FERC Summer,’ with FERC of course being the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Why? Well to paraphrase Ms. Stallion: because now that FERC has put in all that work, it’s time for them to be the MVP,” said Rep. Caston on July 20.

He continued, “Now, some might say that FERC isn’t – dare I say – hot enough to warrant that attention. But for those of us serious about fighting the climate crisis, it should be. The Commission ensures our energy markets, generation, and transmission are operating and providing us with affordable, reliable energy. But the best-kept secret of all is that FERC is absolutely key to achieving our clean energy goals and a zero-carbon economy.”

According to Rep. Casten’s office, the Federal Power Act (FPA) granted FERC with the authority and responsibility to make sure rates charged by electric utilities for wholesale rates are “just and reasonable.” Casten argues FERC failed to consider the full economic and environmental cost of greenhouse gas emissions due to the restructuring of the power markets.

“As you of course know, Madam Speaker, Hot Girl Summer ain’t about degrees.’ But Hot FERC summer most definitely is. The record temperatures from Portland to Death Valley, the wildfires, and the coming hurricane season are all the direct result of our failure to decarbonize as quickly as we must,” stated Casten in his House floor speech.

The Ireland-born midwesterner trained in biochemistry and engineering added, “While this summer is the hottest FERC Summer yet, it’s coming on the heels of 2020 – which was the hottest summer North America has ever seen for as long as we have records. In fact, the ten warmest summers on record have occurred since 1998 – and if we fail to act, they will be nothing compared to the summers we’ll experience over the coming decades. Because while the best chance to take action on climate was thirty years ago, the last chance is now.”

Megan Thee Stallion released her “Hot Girl Summer” track featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign in 2019. The Juicy J-produced collaboration became a Top 20 hit on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. The song won an MTV Video Music Award for Best Power Anthem and a BET Award for Viewer’s Choice. “Hot Girl Summer” is currently certified 2x-Platinum.

1997’s No Way Out is the only other Number One album of Diddy’s career. 1999’s Forever and 2001’s The Saga Continues… both made it as high as the #2 position. The 16-track MMM (Money Making Mitch) mixtape dropped in 2015.

Diddy also spearheaded 2010’s Last Train to Paris by the group known as Dirty Money with Dawn Richard and Kalenna Harper. Plus, electronic DJ/producer Guy Gerber joined forces with Puff Daddy for the 11 11 joint effort in 2014.

In addition, Diddy was featured on numerous songs over the last four decades. He recently made a guest appearance on DJ Khaled’s “This Is My Year” collaboration off the Khaled Khaled album. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Big Sean, and Rick Ross contributed to that record as well.

Almighty Jay Announces He’s No Longer Signed To Atlantic Records

Jay “Almighty Jay” Bradley is apparently now out of the major label system. The Texas-raised rapper took to social media to announce he is out of his deal with Atlantic Records.

“Thank you @atlanticrecords for everything. As of July 19, 2021, I [officially] became a 100% INDEPENDENT ARTIST!! TIME FOR ME TO BE MY OWN BOSS & STAND ON BUSINESS AS A CEO.🖤@n2lrecordsllc #N2LRecords,” wrote Almighty Jay in a now-deleted Instagram post.

Almighty Jay (formerly YBN Almighty Jay) also dropped a new single titled “No Label” on Wednesday. The 21-year-old former YBN crew member released a music video for the track as well.

Over the last several months, Almighty Jay publicly complained about his record contract situation. In March, he called ART@WAR label head James McMillan a “fraud” who forced young talent to sign “janky deals.”

A week later, Almighty Jay claimed his contractual association with Atlantic was tainted. The Battling My Spirit mixtape creator tweeted, “Didn’t have a choice when I signed… N#### signed my rights away to Atlantic Records behind my back.”

Fellow Young Boss N##### affiliate YBN Nahmir put the blame on the collective splitting up on an “old n#### in the background.” There was speculation that Nahmir was referring to James McMillan, the executive who supposedly brokered the deal between the YBN rappers and Atlantic Records.

Cassidy Calls Out Tory Lanez Again For Stealing His Lyrics During Hot 97 Freestyle

Tory Lanez had a lot of people talking about his appearance on Funkmaster Flex’s Hot 97 show. While most of the headlines focused on Lanez’s lyrics supposedly connected to Megan Thee Stallion, fellow Hip Hop artist Cassidy concentrated on different bars.

Apparently, Tory Lanez has again been accused of using Cassidy’s flow and lyrics for his Funk Flex freestyle. The Philadelphia native uploaded a montage of Lanez’s latest Hot 97 rap as well as clips from Cassidy’s own Hot 97 freestyle which included both rhymers using similar words and themes.

Plus, the Instagram video shows a flashback to a 2017 Hot 97 freestyle where Tory Lanez’s bars again sounded very much like Cassidy’s bars. Lanez denied stealing lyrics from the Split Personality album creator at the time.

Cassidy wrote in the Instagram caption:

I’m @torylanez favorite rapper. #RNS Ain’t no denying that. 👀👂🏾#GoatGang 🐐Show me the respect I deserve & #LetsGetToThisChicken. 💵 #BARSisBack#DaEnergy ⚡️

@cassidy_larsiny Instagram

Funkmaster Flex’s #Freestyle162 featuring Tory Lanez originally went viral for the Canadian referencing his arrest for allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion last summer. Lanez has repeatedly claimed he is innocent and a victim of some sort of conspiracy.

“Shout out to DaBaby, Roddy Ricch, and Lil Baby. What I’m about to say is gonna sound a little crazy, but it’s true so don’t flame me. Y’all all would have got your awards if they never framed me,” rapped Tory Lanez on Hot 97.

Megan Thee Stallion won numerous music industry awards in 2020 and 2021, including three Grammys. Some critics believed DaBaby, Roddy Ricch, and Lil Baby were more deserving than the “Savage” hitmaker in certain categories. However, all four acts were presented with various trophies over the last year.

Dr. Dre To Pay Ex-Wife Almost $300,000 A Month In Spousal Support

Rap mogul Dr. Dre has been ordered to pay his ex-wife over $3.5 million a year in spousal support. Nicole Young will now receive $293,306 per month, due at the first of every month.

A recent report by The Blast says that a judge made the order this week in court.

The order says:

“[Dr. Dre] is ordered to pay to the [Nicole Young] spousal support in the sum of $293,306.00 per month, payable on the first of each month, commencing August 1, 2021.” The total equals $3,519,672 per year in support.

Dr. Dre will continue to pay unless Nicole Young remarries, either of them dies or she finds a new domestic partner.

“[Payments continue] until the party receiving support remarries or enters into a new domestic partnership, death of either party.” Dr. Dre will also have to pay her healthy insurance, which is very close to what she got when they were married.

The only thing that he has to worry about is the financial dispute between him and his former wife, Nicole Young. One of the issues (still) at the center of their break-up is whether or not their pre-nuptial agreement is still in play.

Nicole, 51, was seeking more that she received based on a prenuptial agreement that would give her much more from his $820 million estate. She was not able to give proof of said agreement, which she said was destroyed by Dr. Dre, and the result is today’s ruling.

NBA YoungBoy Willing To Go To Great Lengths To Get Out Of Jail

Rap star NBA YoungBoy is attempting to get out of jail after being arrested in an operation the Feds have dubbed “Operation Never Free Again.”

The rapper is currently being held without bond in the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana as he awaits trial for gun violations.

NBA YoungBoy, born Kentrell Gaulden is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and possessing a firearm not registered to him.

The gun violations stem from an arrest in September of 2020, in Baton Rouge after 16 people were arrested during a video shoot. The cops claim the men who were arrested are members of the Never Broke Again and Bottom Boy Gorilla Gang.

During the raid, police found numerous firearms, some of which were loaded, while one of the weapons was stolen.

Investigators claim NBA YoungBoy was in possession of a 45-caliber gun and a 9mm as well.

The rapper was indicted on the Federal charges on March 10 and an arrest warrant out of Louisiana was issued for him. He was taken into custody after a brief foot chase in California on March 22.

NBA YoungBoy is offering to put up the original $540,000 bond suggested by a California Magistrate Judge, that was shot down by a Judge in Louisiana in April, who labeled the rap star a danger to the community.

But NBA YoungBoy is willing to go to great extremes to get out of jail before his trial.

Yesterday (July 20), his lawyers told the judge he would be released into the custody of a licensed private security individual, to provide 24-hour monitoring.

The rapper would also submit status reports regularly to pretrial services, in addition to submitting to electronic monitoring.

He would also remain under house arrest at a location approved by the Court, in addition to providing proof of gainful employment as a recording artist with Atlantic Records.

NBA YoungBoy has pleaded not guilty to the charges. His lawyers claim the government is out to get him.

Last month, his lawyers filed a motion to suppress the evidence that was collected during the raid on September 28, 2020, because the cops violated NBA YoungBoy’s right to counsel, and failed to read him his Miranda Rights when they attempted to question him after his arrest.

NBA YoungBoy’s lawyer claims the police violated his Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment rights have been violated.

A judge has yet to rule on NBA YoungBoy’s lawyers’ attempt to suppress the evidence or release him from jail.

Almighty Jay And Skinnyfromthe9 Fight It Out Old School Style

No guns. No knives. No jumping.

Just two men fighting like grown men … and one knocked on his behind after playing reindeer games on social media.

As the saying goes, the spoils go to the victor. Rapper Almighty Jay posted on his social media a video clip of him and Skinnyfromthe9 putting up their dukes to settle their differences.

The “Let Me Breathe” rapper posted on his Twitter and Instagram profiles the fight —kinda gloating over his knockout.

“N##### be on the internet with all that tough ass s### till they gotta see me in person,” wrote Jay on Twitter alongside the video. “@skinnyfromthe9 dropped him twice. NO JUMPING NO NONE OF
THAT.”

https://twitter.com/ybnalmightyjay/status/1417712503253979142?s=20

Exactly and an hour later, he followed up this tweet with a reply to a Skinny fan that called him “p####.”

The Skinny fan, whose Twitter handle was @415Es and went by the name Christian, wrote on July 1, “@ybnalmightyjay p#### that’s why he don’t want to fight that n#### @skinnyfromthe9. If he really a snitch then knock his ass out bruh…you from da hood you gotta obligation… didn’t you get your ass rocked in a mall too tho”

To which the Galveston rapper replied, “This didn’t age well” with the crying emojis.

This seems to be a downer for Skinny who was having a great week prior.

It was announced over the weekend that he would be signing with the hitmaker Soulja Boy.

He posted on his IG, “SKINNY SODMG 🔥🔥🔥 yo @souljaboy you really my brother 4 life ima make you proud thank you for the opportunity @sodmgrecordsllc pluged in w the right people @stephenbelafonte1 @_bgbop 🙏🏻 @squeezebanzz bro 4 life & free @joshwthe9 💯💯 @jaylepatron my big bro 4 real we up

Nicki Minaj Instantly Boosts Security Guard’s Social Media Presence For Not Arresting “Barb”

Nicki Minaj helped a New York security guard build his follower count on Instagram after he helped a fan perform her collaboration with Bia, “Whole Lotta Money,” in a New York Zara store.

TikTok user Zha Chanel performed a karaoke rendition of the track in the retail outlet, with security official Michael initially trying to shut down the filming, before walking away from the situation.

While he said he was unsure if he would encounter any trouble for allowing the performance, it turned out good for the worker, who caught the attention of Nicki Minaj.

“it’s the security guard sayin ‘y’all can’t do that in here’ while walking AWAY from the festivities,” penned the rapper, who later added: “Someone tell the security guard in that video I posted that I’m lookin for him. I wanna send him a gift for being such a sweetheart to one of my babies.”

She later tracked Michael down, and he told TMZ: “She said, ‘If I like one of your photos, I’ll get like 1000-plus likes, my phone is still buzzing’.”

Nicki Minaj subsequently liked most of his posts, boosting his follower count to more than 9,000, and said she would also give him a separate gift for being generous with her fans.

And Michael had nothing but good things to say about the hitmaker, adding: “Keep setting an example for all the strong women out there that’s on their grind to strive for greatness.”

Miloud’s Road To Stardom Using Social Media

Miloud, also known by his stage name Arobiyo, is a 20-year-old Dutch music artist who is making music and gaining a lot of attention on social media. He currently has over 21.5k monthly listeners on Spotify, a global platform for music streaming. He has been making his own music since he was 14 but started releasing his works only recently. His strong social media presence helped him gain this success in his music career.

As technology started to reach a wider audience around 2010, a lot of new people started to realize the potential of the internet. With the huge growth in the number of internet users, many individuals started creating profiles on social media platforms. In the Netherlands, Hyves became the most popular social media platform, so Miloud jumped on the bandwagon and started to establish himself online. He was just nine years old when he created his own account but became very famous soon.

Miloud’s popularity in Hyves was so enormous at a very young age that he became one of the 20 most respected personalities on the site. He carried this success over to Twitter which at that time was growing rapidly as a social media platform. Miloud’s Twitter account became the first account by a teenager in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Back in 2012, Twitter had over 500 million users and was on its way to becoming the 2nd largest social media site after Facebook. However, a number of other sites came to prominence, including Instagram and TikTok. Miloud launched his Instagram account, where he often posted videos of him performing and recording covers. However, it was TikTok that gave him more room to show his creativity and talent.

TikTok, a social networking site focused on sharing short videos had over a billion active monthly users in 2021. It became a platform for talented people like Miloud to showcase their skills without actually performing on stage or recording in studios. With a verified account on TikTok, Miloud has reached wider audiences and engages with his supporters all over the world.

Miloud began releasing his original music on Spotify in April 2020 and within six months had garnered 1.5 million streams. By the end of the year, he successfully crossed the 2 million mark on Spotify. This strongly boosted his music career. This was very impressive especially because he took his time before making his own music known to the public.

The COVID-19 pandemic seemed like bad news for a lot of people in the entertainment and music industry. But with the vast technological advancements, a lot of new artists had the chance to make themselves known to the world. Technology allows music artists to connect with fans online and make an impression on them. For the music industry, the internet has become the main source for reaching a wider audience around the world. Artists like Miloud have benefited from this and have used their presence online to boost their reputation and gain a huge following for themselves. Social media became the starting point of his music career and is continuing to sustain it. Miloud is an inspiration to other artists looking to build their careers and make a name for themselves with the power of the internet and social media.

Megan Thee Stallion Explains Why She Hid Rap Dreams From Her Mom

Megan Thee Stallion kept her rapping talents from her late mom when she was a kid because she wanted to be perfect before she performed for her.

The “Savage” hitmaker spent hours in the studio watching her rapping mother Holly Thomas record and knew from an early age she wanted to follow in her footsteps.

“She didn’t know I wanted to be a rapper, but I would literally watch her in the studio all day,” Megan told Tyra Banks during an interview. “I’m like, ‘This lady is everything’.

“I wanted to be perfect to her. Finally, I went to college. I was like, ‘OK, I’ve probably held this secret in long enough’. I started going to the studio by myself… I didn’t want her to shut me down. I didn’t want her to say, ‘You’re not serious about this. You don’t know’.

“I finally came to her… and I was like, ‘I can rap’. She was like, ‘No you can’t… let me hear’. I was like, ‘OK Mama. Don’t whoop me, but I’m about to curse, OK?’ So, I started going off and I’m cursing. She’s like, ‘Where did you learn all those words?'”

HoneyKomb Brazy Gets Football Numbers For Violating Probation

Alabama rapper HoneyKomb Brazy’s probation has been snatched after violating his terms of release.

A Mobile County judge made this assessment following the prosecution sharing 15 video clips of the “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah” artist with firearms and drugs, both prohibited under his probation terms.

According to the prosecutor he also failed to report to his parole officer for three months after his release and traveled to Texas and Georgia without permission.

The rapper, whose legal name is Nashon Jones, was convicted of a 2016 felonious gun charge and received a 15-year sentence.

With his probation, he only served 18 months. Now he will have to do the entire bid.

Brazy’s lawyer Jeff Deen submitted that the guns were props used for his videos, but the judge was not having it at all. Instead, the court pointed to another violation whereas the rapper was present at a shootout in Montgomery with his friends and another group of thugs, an incident that the very smart entertainer posted on his social media.

“I wish the judge had denied the State’s motion to revoke Nashon’s probation,” Deen told FOX10 News when talking about his client’s case. “His creativity influences and inspires others in his social circle. However, I can understand the judge’s opinion. He conducted a 2 1/2 hour hearing and then took three weeks to review the evidence presented which included a plethora of videos.”

The attorney continued, “Even if the guns, dope, and alcohol weren’t real in the videos, I can see why the judge could conclude that honeycombs the depiction of drugs, guns, alcohol, and misogyny would not be conduct becoming of a probationer.

“We plan on appealing the judge’s decision. In the meantime, I believe that this experience will drive Nashon toward providing a more positive and mature message for his many fans,” he finally ended.

HoneyKomb Brazy may seem to be celebrating a gangster lifestyle, but it is not without a price.

As reported by AllHipHop.com, his grandparents, Tony and Leila Lewis, were murdered after he was released on probation.

Senior Sticks With His Promise of an Album per Year – Break & Tell Out on July 23rd

Keeping to one’s promises and maintaining a consistent level of quality are a couple of lessons from the world of business that translate well into all sorts of other areas and endeavors. When James William Awad, a successful entrepreneur who releases music under the artist name of Senior, puts out his Break & Tell album on July 23rd, he’ll be doing just that—keeping a promise to his fans and delivering the kind of music people who follow him have grown to expect from him.

Senior’s second album comes less than a year after his debut album, I Feel Better Alone, hit the streaming platforms to the joy of many who were able to identify with the themes he was covering. With song titles like Anxiety, Fall for You, and Made It Bigger, it was obvious that the subjects of the songs dealt with the real trials and tribulations of a young man’s life.

As such, they resonated with his audience, who wanted more of the same level of authenticity and truthfulness, and now they’ve got it. In no less than 14 tracks, Senior is once again pouring real-life experiences into his lyrics. His trademark delivery is there again, taking the best out of hip-hop and RnB royalty and packaging it with a decidedly contemporary feeling. For the people who have fallen in love with the sound of his previous record, Break & Tell won’t disappoint—it will serve as the perfect stepping stone for the next thing this young artist has in store.

So far, the pandemic and his incredibly busy schedule with building and running a company have played a major part in why Senior still hasn’t performed in front of a live audience. Soon, however, this is going to change. If everything goes according to plan, Senior might start touring next year, in support of his next album. To get there, he has to stay true to his promise of an album a year, which he has no plan to renege on. Hopefully, the world will be in a much better place at that time regarding the pandemic, too.

Until then, however, fans of Senior’s art have a whole new album to tide them over. Besides his musical content, the Montreal-based polymath is also active on social media, as well as on the cutting edge of business innovation. Since landing on the music scene last year, he’s been steadily moving upward, both in terms of his ability to communicate his feelings through his music and delivering a message that’s worthy of hearing. To keep track of his new ideas, follow Senior on social media.

Walter Weekes, a Fast Rising Talent in the Music Industry

At 20 years of age, Walter Weekes is already establishing a name for himself in the highly competitive music scene. A songwriter, singer, and record producer, Weekes is moving many in the industry with his unique and raw musical talent. His lyrical prowess and captivating songs have helped him build his reputation, and he is steadily gaining massive traction among music enthusiasts across many U.S. states.

Weekes is a promising musical phenomenon working to find his niche in the music industry, learning, and getting a better understanding of the industry’s dynamics. His passion and love for music have driven him to unlock his potential. A multi-talented individual, Weekes is also exemplary in music production. He possesses unmatched skills in his approaches to production, which highlights his musical ability.

Weekes was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, one of the musical cities in the U.S.. From a young age, Weekes shared a passion for music. He loved singing along to melodies and any good music that caught his attention, a habit he has never lost. Music sounded magical to him, and all he wanted to be was a musician. In high school, Weekes spent most of his free time writing music and singing for his friends who eagerly listened to his songs.

Right from high school, Weekes was sure that he wanted to pursue music. Growing up in a city with a massive pool of award-winning music talents and recording personalities also played a significant role in nurturing his talent. There were lots of talented musicians to look up to and also to learn from.

However, growing up in such an environment, it was not a walk in the park to enter the music scene. He has faced numerous challenges and obstacles in his musical journey. He came from a humble background where things were tough. There were days his family would sleep hungry or sleep out in the cold after being thrown out of their rented house. As the firstborn in a family of 4, he had to do manual jobs most evenings to help support his family as well as keep himself in school until he finished. Being a singer in a hip-hop-dominated city made it hard for him to feature in the limelight. All attention seemed to be on the buzzing hip-hop scene, but he did not relent.

Instead, he capitalized on his creativity to create his unique musical sound that is a fusion of soft rock and jazz with a special hip-hop touch. Essentially, the widespread hip-hop culture in Atlanta somehow influenced his decision to feature rap in his songs. He wanted to create a unique sound for a broader music audience.

His inspiration comes from some of the most prominent names in the industry: Lionel Richie, Fetty Wap, Toni Braxton, and UB40, the legendary English band.

Weekes is still an independent artist, working hard to push his music. It’s just amazing how he has been able to break through the industry as an independent artist and gain visibility. For many artists, working under a music label is the perfect way to be introduced to the industry. And it can be a challenging journey working as an independent artist.

The future is bright for Weekes as he aspires to establish his own record label. He wants to scale his career as a musician and also diversify as a music producer. A record label will help him exploit the full potential of his music production skills.

There is undoubtedly more to come from Weekes, and he promises his fans that he will continue to amaze them.
