Migos Bring Out A Pregnant Cardi B During Summer Jam Performance

Belcalis “Cardi B” Almánzar is currently expecting her second child with her husband Offset. The Bronx-raised rapper announced her latest pregnancy while performing with Migos at the 2021 BET Awards in June.

Once again, Cardi B joined Offset, Quavo, and Takeoff on stage for a performance. This time the Grammy winner showed up for Migos’ set at the Hot 97 Summer Jam concert on Sunday night.

The four Hip Hop stars ran through the Culture III track “Type S###” which features a guest verse by Cardi B. Hot 97 posted footage from the set to the New York City-based radio station’s social media pages.

After canceling the 2020 edition due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hot 97’s Summer Jam returned in 2021 with appearances by Swizz Beatz, The Lox, Lil Kim, Busta Rhymes, Remy Ma, Fat Joe, Wu-Tang Clan, Meek Mill, DaBaby, Bobby Shmurda, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Polo G, Moneybagg Yo, French Montana, The Isley Bros, and more acts.

Even though she has not released a full-length studio LP since 2018’s Invasion of Privacy, Cardi B has remained an active recording artist in 2021. Her solo single “Up” peaked at #1 on the Hot 100 chart, giving Cardi her record-extending fifth Number One.

Cardi B also appeared on DJ Khaled’s “Big Paper,” Normani’s “Wild Side,” and Lizzo’s “Rumors” in recent months. “Type S###,” “Big Paper” and “Wild Side” all made it onto Billboard‘s Hot 100 rankings. “Rumors” is projected to debut in the Top 10.

Migos released Culture III in June. Besides Cardi B, the project also features appearances from Drake, Polo G, Future, Justin Bieber, Juice Wrld, Pop Smoke, and YoungBoy Never Broke Again. Culture III became the trio’s third Top 5 entry on the Billboard 200 chart.

SZA “Dumps” Three Songs Of “Random Thoughts”

There has been a lot going on with Top Dawg Entertainment in recent weeks. Tennessee-bred rapper Isaiah Rashad earned his first Top 10 album when The House Is Burning opened at #7 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Then Kendrick Lamar shocked the music world when he announced his next project will be his final one to come out on the Top Dawg Entertainment label. That was followed by another surprise when fellow TDE artist SZA randomly dropped three songs.

On Sunday, SZA posted a link to a SoundCloud page with a tweet that simply read, “dumping random thoughts.” The three-pack of tracks includes records titled “Nightbird,” “I Hate You,” and “Joni.”

SZA’s “random thoughts” arrived as her hit collaboration “Kiss Me More” with Doja Cat continues to live in the Top 10 region of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. That song has spent 18 weeks on the tally, peaking at #3 in July.

Earlier this year, SZA scored her first solo Top 10 hit with the “Good Days” single. The song eventually climbed to #9 on Billboard‘s weekly rankings of the most popular songs in America.

The commercial success of “Good Days” was somewhat fleeting. The song remained on the Hot 100 for 20 weeks, but SZA blasted Top Dawg Entertainment after the record fell off the chart. She wrote, at the time, “I really hate my label. So much.”

Despite the friendly fire and pending departures, SZA and Kendrick Lamar were able to celebrate major landmarks in their respective careers this year. Both of the “All the Stars” collaborators reached monumental milestones on the Billboard 200 chart.

Kendrick Lamar’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Damn album crossed the four-year mark as an entry on the Billboard 200 (226 total weeks). SZA’s critically-acclaimed 2017 studio LP, Ctrl, remained on the Billboard 200 for an impressive 200th week (218 total weeks).

T.I. Defends Lizzo Against Body-Shamers

Lizzo made headlines in recent days after the “Rumors” singer broke down on camera in response to negative comments about her weight. Apparently, cyberbullies were targeting her on social media.

Several celebrities, like Cardi B and Chlöe Bailey, came to Lizzo’s defense. Another musician is also backing the Detroit-born performer with a public declaration of support.

Tip “T.I.” Harris took to Instagram to deliver a message to Lizzo and her fat-shamers. In a 7-minute video posted to his IG page, T.I. shared his belief that Lizzo’s haters were actually more upset at themselves than the three-time Grammy winner.

“I don’t know Lizzo personally. Listen, sweetheart, you are beautiful, you are talented, you are good enough for all the great things the world has to offer. Don’t wait on nobody out there in the public to validate that,” said Tip.

The Hustle Gang leader continued, “Their perception of you has more to do with them than it does with you. All these people who out here who have negative s### to say that’s because they feel negatively about themselves.”

This is not the first time T.I. has recently weighed in on a viral online conversation about another celebrity. The 40-year-old rapper/actor faced backlash when he compared DaBaby being criticized for making homophobic remarks to Lil Nas X being championed for kissing a man on stage at the BET Awards.

Originally, T.I. wrote, “If Lil Nas X can kick his s### in peace… so should DaBaby 🤷🏽‍♂️. #equality.” He later added, “I ain’t even seen what all the hoopla about, some of y’all m############ just be up in arms and fake caring about s### just cause you ain’t got s### going on in your life over here.”

Last week, former Will & Grace star Leslie Jordan called out T.I. for his comments about the LGBTQ community’s reaction to DaBaby’s offensive statements. Tip responded by offering the opportunity to speak with Jordan in the hopes of creating “teachable moments.”

Lizzo’s “Rumors” with Cardi B is projected to debut in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This would give Lizzo her third Top 10 hit following “Good As Hell” and the chart-topping “Truth Hurts” off 2019’s Cuz I Love You album.

Lil Kim, The Lox & Busta Rhymes Rock “Celebrate Biggie” Concert [PHOTOS]

Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace was honored with a special event in his hometown of Brooklyn on August 19. Friends of the late Hip Hop icon took the stage at Prospect Park Bandshell for the “Budweiser Celebrate Biggie” concert.

The Notorious B.I.G.’s rap protégé, Lil Kim, was part of the “Celebrate Biggie” lineup. His former Bad Boy Entertainment colleagues The Lox were also on hand in BK. Fellow Brooklynite Busta Rhymes performed too.

“Celebrate Biggie” was part of Budweiser’s recent campaign commemorating the Ready To Die album creator. In addition to the live showcase in New York City, the Anheuser-Busch company created cans featuring The Notorious B.I.G.’s likeness.

Budweiser partnered with the Christopher Wallace Estate to exclusively release the limited-edition products in the New York City market. Biggie x Budweiser merchandise was also made available.

“I am honored to know that a brand such as Budweiser wanted to celebrate my son in this way,” stated Voletta Wallace, the mother of Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace.

Ms. Wallace added, “Christopher’s legacy and brand value is extremely important to myself and the family and memorializing him on the can of an iconic beer brand as ‘Budweiser’ is something I believe he would be happy with.”

Kanye Shares Cryptic Photos Ahead of “DONDA” Release

Kanye West has taken to Instagram, sharing a series of cryptic photos in the latest installment of the “DONDA” album rollout.

The long-awaited and much-delayed “DONDA” album has been given another release date. The project is now expected to drop this Friday, August 27. Just last week, after sharing a picture of his childhood home in Chicago Ye deleted all images from his Instagram account. He lived in the South Shore neighborhood home with his late mother Donda, the inspiration behind this latest album.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CS0cCsooNL_/

Now, Ye has added several more images to his IG account, all of which may have hidden meanings.

The first of four posts uploaded late Sunday night is a trio of images of a man dressed in black walking on concrete.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CS5pI3NHkxf/

The second is a black and white image of a back tattoo depicting two women and a cross.

The third is of a still image taken from the short film, “The Ravishing of Frank N. Stein”

An hour after the first three posts the superstar rapper added a final black and white image, a shot of a person taking a picture of a black mask on a concrete floor.

All very mystifying stuff! Fan theories are already mounting with one fan taking to YouTube for a very detailed look at “The Ravishing of Frank N. Stein” and how it may apply to Kanye and the “DONDA” rollout.

A third listening event is to take place this Thursday at Chicago’s Soldier Field. Yeezy’s manager and Def Jam Vice President Abou ‘Bu’ Thiam confirmed the album will “absolutely” be released following the listening party.

Tyga Deletes OnlyFans Account, Set To Launch Myystar Platform

Late last year, Micheal Ray “Tyga” Nguyen-Stevenson set up an OnlyFans management and lifestyle company called Too Raww. Now that OnlyFans is moving away from sexual content, Tyga is making another business move of his own.

The 31-year-old West Coast rapper deleted his OnlyFans account, and he is preparing to present his own subscription-based platform called myystar. The site is scheduled for a full launch by October. Users can apply for membership.

According to a press release, myystar will only take 10% from creators’ earnings as opposed to OnlyFans taking 20%. Creators will also have the ability to sell NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain.

Tyga partnered with creative director, Ryder Ripps of OKFOCUS, to design the myystar platform. Ripps was involved in the branding of VFILES and 88RISING. He worked with Travis Scott and Kanye West as well.

OnlyFans is banning “content containing sexually-explicit conduct” in October in order to “comply with the requests of [the company’s] banking partners and payout providers.” Many online sex workers were rocked by the news of the coming changes to the website.

“I know how many people make a lot of money on OnlyFans, and that’s where most of their revenue is at,” Tyga told Forbes. “I want to give those people hope.”

OnlyFans was founded in 2016, and it quickly became a go-to site for pornographic material. The London-based business allows its 2 million creators to offer subscriptions for exclusive content. OnlyFans reportedly has a user base of 130 million people.

Webbie Collapses During Performance in VA

Webbie suffered a medical emergency this weekend while performing in Virginia. The rapper stumbled off stage and had to be carried out of the club.

The rapper had been performing to a packed crowd and initially appeared to be having no issues. However, at some point during the night’s events, he was seen on camera looking unwell and was then ushered out of the building by his team. He was pictured staggering out of 213 Lux Lounge in Roanoke, VA where he was playing his set on Friday night.

In the clip, Webbie struggles to stay upright as he makes his way off the stage, reaching out for assistance but then staggers to the ground. The rapper is then surrounded by his entourage and security who help carry him out of the building.

Immediately speculation began that the Louisiana rapper had some sort of seizure. TMZ reports that they received an update from a representative for Webbie who says that he is doing better. The rep says that following the incident, Webbie was checked out by a doctor and given the all-clear to leave the hospital.

Webbie took to his Instagram stories to share a post from his promotor, updating fans on the situations. DJ Showtime wrote: “I’m one of the promoters for the @webbietrill show. Webbie put his fans before his health last night. He performed a great show up until that point. Most humble and professional artist I’ve worked with. After speaking with his @djtgutta he is doing well & in good spirits #Dumbway”

Earlier this month, Webbie made the headlines after a shootout at his concert in Lafayette let one dead and another injured.

Watch Swizz and friends pay tribute to the icon, DMX

Legendary emcee Earl “DMX” Simmons passed away earlier this year on April 9. At the time, Swizz shared a lengthy tribute to his friend on IG calling him a “different type of artist, different type of creative, different type of soul”.

“Since the day that I met him, he lived his life for everyone else,” Swizz said in the video. “You ain’t ever seen him next to a Lamborghini… You ain’t ever seen him iced out with no jewelry, he did not care about any of that. He was the biggest. DMX was the biggest. And let me tell you why he was the biggest. He was the biggest because he prayed for everybody else, more than he did himself.”

DaBaby Addresses Controversy at Summer Jam, Calls Out “Cry Babies”

DaBaby had been dropped from festival lineups all over the country following heavy backlash for making homophobic comments at Rolling Loud. Last night, he surprised us all by popping out at Hot97’s Summer Jam.

In July, DaBaby told the crowd at Rolling Loud, “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that’ll make you die in two or three weeks, put your cellphone light up.

“Ladies, if your p#### smell like water, put your cellphone light up. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking dick in the parking lot, put your cellphone light up.”

Jonathan “DaBaby” Kirk was widely criticized for the remarks and was dropped from several festivals including Lollapalooza, Governors Ball, Austin City Limits, Music Midtown, iHeartRADIO, and Manchester’s Parklife.

Before the rapper took to the stage at last night’s Summer Jam a pre-recorded video played showing the rapper addressing the comments made at Rolling Loud and his inclusion at Hot97’s event.

In the recording, DaBaby said Hot97, “allowed me to share my gift, share my blessing with y’all out here live on this stage amongst all the chaos and all the backlash.”

“They accepted my sincerity and all my apologies when I said I never, ever meant to offend anybody or say anything to make anybody feel any type of way live on that stage a few weeks ago,” he continued.

“Hot 97 was also willing to stick they neck out on the line, willing to go against all odds with everything going on out here in the world, and still allow me to come out here on this stage and utilize they platform to help the world move forward.”

During his set, however, DaBaby may have further angered his critics saying “I never in my life meant to offend anybody, you know, and I apologize…that ain’t even how I rock.

“…But check this out, other than the people that was truly offended, I feel like the rest of y’all m############ are being cry babies.”

DaBaby had previously joked about a move to R&B in response to the backlash.

Blind City The Podcast Creator Langford Cunningham Brings Change for Marginalized Youth

Some experiences overwhelmingly change people forever. Langford Cunningham had many such experiences which helped him meet his ultimate goal. These experiences led him to create Blind City The Podcast and Redemption Academy, a faith-based, non-denominational not-for-profit organization, from which, he helps marginalized young black and brown kids to deal with various issues and help them walk the right path in life.

During the pandemic, he helped young people who dealt with anxiety, uncertainty, and panic attacks. Through his podcast and non-profit, Redemption Academy, he addresses subjects like sex trafficking, teen suicide, strong family units and provides alternative answers to living streetlife.

Featured guests on Blind City The Podcast include the current Mayor of St. Louis, Tishaura Jones, NFL Star Laurence Maroney, and celebrated rapper Murphy Lee, to name a few.

Langford Cunningham’s story is quite inspiring and intriguing. During his youth, Cunningham experienced the ugly side of street life – corruption, drugs, violence, and more. He battled destructive behaviors, and when he decided to change his life for the better, he got a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, and for more than 15 years, Cunningham worked at the St Louis County Juvenile Detention as a DJP Deputy Juvenile Officer.

But life doesn’t always go the way one plans it. Langford Cunningham lost his eyesight to glaucoma and underwent 31 surgeries to no avail. He battled depression during this period and attempted suicide three times in one day and failed, which let him know his mission on Earth was not complete and he had to do better.

Out of that commission Blind City The Podcast and Redemption Academy, a non-denominational faith-based 501(c)(3) were born. With his podcast, Cunningham along with his cohort Dr. Porter, helps black and brown youth achieve confidence and self-assurance in life with his motivational talks.

To attest to the importance of his work, Langford Cunningham has been featured on Fox News, ESPN Radio, and The Hype Magazine, as well as other major and local news outlets.

Blind City The Podcast website explains their mission – “To stimulate the heart of the nation by offering hope in a world filled with turmoil. Pumping truth and life into the veins of troubled young men and women throughout the world and giving the cause and effect of violence that clogs the arteries of this nation. By offering practical applications to shock the heart of the nation back into action, we help people see their vision and reach their goals and promote being positive through the pain.”

Blind City The Podcast creator Langford Cunningham shares the motto of his life. He says, “I had to lose my sight to find my vision.” He also poses the question – How many of us had to lose sight of reality to find the vision of truth?

H.E.R. Settles $3 Million Legal Battle Over “Focus”

Popular singer H.E.R. has finally ended the legal battle with a songwriter over her smash hit song “Focus.”

Andre Sims, a well-known songwriter, and piano virtuoso sued H.E.R. in June of 2020, claiming she ripped off his instrumental “Endless Minds” and turned it into “Focus,” which was included on her critically acclaimed self-debut album.

The multi-million dollar battle started after DJ Camper admitted to being “inspired” by “Endless Minds” during a conversation on Instagram Live.

“’m scrolling… and then it’s a guy that I follow – crazy piano player. He had did this – it’s like a little warmup he had,” DJ Camper said. “And I’m like, ‘Man, this is crazy!’ And it’s kind of similar to like, the ‘Focus’ melody, so I took that and it inspired me to play it like that, change it a little bit, put a beat, slow it down… BOOM!”

And then “BOOM”….Andre Sims filed a $3 million lawsuit against H.E.R., DJ Camper, and songwriter Justin Love.

While details of the settlement are confidential, Andre Sims told AllHipHop he was extremely satisfied with the resolution of the lawsuit.

“I’m happy we could reach a resolution and would like to thank everyone for their support and prayers,” said Andre Sims, who was played with artists like Stevie Wonder and Donnie McClurkin.

Sims’ was represented by Atlanta-based lawyers James L. Walker and Renorda Pryor, who have worked on legal matters involving artists like Akon, DMX, Waka Flocka, Aretha Franklin, Jill Scott, and others.

“At this point, we have nothing more to say than we are pleased to see the case resolved and settled. Now, all parties can move on with their lives,” said Walker. “Special thanks to all of the attorneys involved who worked tirelessly to close this matter out.”

Nicki Minaj Reacts To Sha’Carri Richardson Loss To Jamaicans In Return To Track After Marijuana Scandal

Nicki Minaj took some time to congratulate the Jamaican female sprinters, who dominated the 2021 Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon.

Elaine Thompson-Herah came in first in the hundred-meter, with a lightning-fast time of 10.54 seconds. Fellow Jamaicans Shelly-Ann Frazier-Pryce (10.73), and Shericka Jackson (10.5) landed in third place.

Sha’Carri Richardson, who ran her first competitive race since being booted from the Tokyo Olympics for testing positive for marijuana, finished last.

Sha’Carri ran an abysmal 11.14, prompting a bit of shade from Nicki on her Instagram account.

In one post Nicki wrote “Yasssss Goodie!!!!!,” And a follow-up post featured nothing but the broom emoji.

Sha’Carri and Nicki have had back and forths in the past. In old tweets, Sha’Carri claimed Nicki was annoying in her role as “Draya” in “Barbershop 3.”

The loss seemed to have rankled Sha’Carri, who gave a rather bitter post-race interview with NBC.

“This is one race, I’m not done. You know what I’m capable of. Count me out if you want to,” Richardson snapped. “Talk all the s### you want. Because I’m here to stay. I’m not done. I’m the sixth fastest woman in this game ever and can’t nobody ever take that from me.”

Social media had a field day with the loss, as the words “DEAD LAST” and #ShaCant trended, along with comments clowning Richardson for her on sportsmanlike comments from the American sprinter after her loss.

To be fair, Sha’Carri did apologize for swearing in the heat of passion.

“After the race, I was in the heat of passion and I apologize for my language, but I’m a warrior. My passion will always come out for my love for what it is that I put my blood sweat tears and sacrifice into,” Sha’Carri Richardson added. “This last month, I’ll say journey for me, and but that’s no excuse because at the end of the day I’m an athlete. Today was one day, but it’s not every day, it’s not the end of the world and like I say if you choose to count me out, jokes on you.”

Coronavirus Is Sweeping The United States And Florida Is Leading The Way

Florida is wilding.

According to the statistics, the coronavirus pandemic is in full swing and has broken some new records across the United States, and in the Sunshine State.

By the end of the week, the deaths in Florida have spiked up 300% due to COVID-19.

The national data states that as of Friday, August 20, there were 319,456 new infections in one week in the country, and out of that number 150,118 were from Florida.

The rates in every age group under 50-years-old have surpassed the previous record of hospitalizations set in the first half of January.

The stats, which were gathered by John-Hopkins University, continue to baffle health professionals as reports note that 908 people died on Thursday and 2,677 people died on Friday.

Out of those approximately 3,500 deaths, 346 were from Florida.

Jennifer Pacheco, assistant vice president of critical care at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, “When the pandemic started, we had an indication of who was coming in — people larger in size, or with diabetes, or older than a certain age. We knew when they came in they might end up in ICU.”

The DailyMail.com says that this is because of the national rise of the Delta variant and the low vaccination rate.

And in Florida, most of the deaths have come from young people.

An astounding 36% of the Floridians that have died from the virus have been under 65. The next segments that are on the rise are Baby Boomers and older Gen Xers.

Pacheco continued and said, “This time, we’re not seeing that. We are seeing younger people, and we cannot predict who will come into the ICU and end up on ventilators. It’s very concerning.”

47 percent of Floridians are fully vaccinated, and 57 percent of the people from the state are eligible to get at least one dose of the vaccine. 99 percent of Florida’s deaths are from people who have not been vaccinated.

Despite these numbers, the state has given schools 48 hours to do away with the mask mandates for students and teachers and if they don’t they will lose funding.

Please pray for Florida … and vote for people that see that this virus is really killing people.

Rappers Who Opened Up For Jim Jones Accused Of Killing Man After Show

Two Connecticut rappers are charged with killing a man after they opened up for rap star Jim Jones.

The Hartford Courant reports that suspects Reginald Miles, and Andre Reed, were performers at Off The Hook Lounge, where Jim Jones made an appearance at a day party.

After the concert ended shortly after 8:00 p.m., a group of men and an SUV did a drive-by and struck three people in a crowd.

One man was struck in the chest and the shoulders. He was rushed to St Mary’s hospital, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.

Although the other two victims were seriously injured, they managed to survive their gunshots wounds.

When the police interviewed the injured man at the hospital, one of them identified a man in a red mask who had performed at the concert as an opening act.

Police scoured social media posts, and eventually found the man and the red mask, who revealed his identity when he pulled the mask down during his performance.

Investigators eventually retrieved surveillance video, which showed Miles putting on the red mask before the shooting started.

The cops eventually collared miles and reed, and charge them with murder, conspiracy the commit murder, and other charges.

Miles is being held on a $3 million bond, and Reed is sitting in jail on a $2 million bond.

Consequence Defends Kanye West Against Drake Diss on Trippie Redd Song

Toronto native Drake has released his new song “Betrayal” featuring Trippie Redd and appears to diss fellow rapper Kanye West.

The potshot seems to be the latest episode in the two’s ongoing feud, and people are starting to take note.

On “Betrayal,” Drake sings, “All these fools I’m beefin’ that I barely know … Forty-five, forty-four (Burned out) … let it go / Ye ain’t changin’ s### for me … it’s set in stone!”

One person that responded was Consequence, the former A Tribe Called Quest associate, former “Love and Hip Hop” cast member, and former G.O.O.D. Music label signee took to social media to defend Kanye.

“F### a Betrayal It’s the Disrespect for me dawg Wit Trippie Redd Shotgun Respect My Team It’s Party Time #QueensAllDay”

https://twitter.com/ItsTheCons/status/1429094166747885575?s=20

The slick diss is referring to Kanye’s shifting of his release date for his upcoming album Donda three times.

The thought is that he was afraid to compete with Nas and/or Drake, and is working overtime to curate a victory.

The Billionaire rapprreneur has been winning in business, closing his epic deal with Gap and Adidas, but after losing the presidential election and losing his wife, he might just need to get a quick “W.”

Drake has peeped his card and wants him to know that he sees that for Kanye, a top spot on the Billboard and streaming charts seems to be a must for him.

Take a listen to “Betrayal”:

Casanova Co-Defendant “Trouble” Takes Plea For Tire-Iron Beating With Gorilla Stone’s Godmother

The Feds continue their successful prosecution of the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation without having to go to trial.

Earlier this week, another prominent member of the gang decided to take a plea deal, instead of risking decades in prison.

Roberta ‘Trouble” Sligh is one of 18 members of the gang charged in a RICO indictment that ensnared rap star Casanova.

Casanova and 17 other members of the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation were charged with everything from murder and running guns, to dealing crack and committing vicious assaults.

Sligh, who is a Peekskill, New York-based member of the gang, was charged with moving large amounts of crack cocaine around her hometown and “devastating” the small community with drugs on behalf of Gorilla Stone.

Sligh was also charged with the brutal beat down of a person with the help of the gang’s “Godmother” Naya “Baby” Austin, while a third person used a tire-iron, at a local convenience store in April of 2020.

Additionally, Sligh was charged with helping the gang procure guns.

To make matters worse for Sligh, she was already serving 5 years of probation for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree. During a post-Miranda interview with a detective, she proudly boasted of being a member of Gorilla Stone.

Sligh has decided to plead guilty instead of facing a trial, where she was facing a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison for racketeering, narcotics conspiracy, possession of firearms in furtherance of narcotics conspiracy, and aiding and abetting.

Sligh will appear at the White Plains Courthouse on September 9, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. to plead guilty.

Sligh is the fourth member of Gorilla Stone who has pleaded guilty.

Shanay “Easy” Outlaw, Jordan “Flow” Ingram and Stephen “Chino” Hugh have all pleaded guilty.

50 Cent Fights Drug Kingpin’s Billion-Dollar “Power” Theft Claim

50 Cent is defending his “Power” franchise from a man who wants a billion dollars from the rapper.

As AllHipHop first reported in April of 2021, Cory “Ghost” Holland Sr. filed the ten-figure lawsuit against 50 Cent, Courtney Kemp, Starz, claiming “Power” is based on his life as a New York drug kingpin.

According to Holland, he produced a cautionary tale about his life as a drug-lord in 2007, put it on CD, and distributed it to at-risk children.

Holland claims he met with Courtney Kemp’s father in the early 1990s to discuss his life story as he attempted to exit the drug trade.

In 2007, Holland said he mailed a copy of his CD to Kemp’s dad. The CD had an autobiographical song where he raps about being a “druglord,” falling in love with his “teen crush” (who is Puerto Rican) and finding out from his white, best friend/drug trafficking partner that his teen crush now works in law enforcement.

Holland claimed he also rapped about leaving his wife, who is a Black woman, for his Puerto-Rican love interest. At the end of the song, someone tries to murder Holland.

He claims Mr. Kemp shared the CD with Courtney, and that 50 Cent ultimately received a copy and ripped off his life story.

Holland claims over 200 scenes in the hit series are based on his life, and that law enforcement raided his home when “Power” aired.

“This is not one of those lawsuits from a deranged fan or some somebody trying capitalize-off someone else’s success,” Holland said. “This is about the actual theft of my life, and the damages that it has done as well the profits that the defendants have made from the of stealing and telling my life story without my consent.”

However, 50 Cent and his legal team with Starz beg to differ.

Earlier this week, 50’s legal team fired back at Holland in an attempt to have the complaint dismissed.

“[Holland] fails to state any claim upon which relief can be granted. More specifically, [Holland] fails to identify any defamatory statements made about him in connection with the fictional television series ‘Power,'” 50 Cent’s lawyer, Joanna M. Hill, of law firm Katten Muchin Rosenman, explained.

“He fails to allege that his name, portrait or picture was used in connection with Power, or that any such use was a prohibited advertising use,” Hill added.

50 Cent Denies Stealing Power From Drug Dealer

The rapper’s lawyers claim Holland’s lawsuit is a frivolous attempt to cash in on the success of “Power” and its spin-offs.

Hill also argues that Holland filed his lawsuit too late.

The last episode of “Power” aired in February 2020. Holland filed his lawsuit in April of 2021, so his claim is barred by the one-year statute of limitations under New York law.

“It is evident that the characters in ‘Power’ are entirely fictionalized and therefore, no reasonable person could rationally believe any character in the series is based on [Holland] or his life,” Hill concluded.

Travis has credited being a dad inspiring him musically, as well as forcing him to become more responsive as a person in general.

“Fatherhood influences my job. It’s a major inspiration, you know what I’m saying? Especially Storm, she’s just acting like a kid. She’s always interested, she catches on and learns things and adapts to things so fast,” Travis said in an interview with I-D magazine.

The rapper added that he no longer lives for himself anymore, and that he is laser focused on the well-being of his growing family, including Kylie.

“Kids show you a different outlook on life, how they view things, the type of pressures they have and what makes them happy, what makes them move… She realizes she’s there, she’s ready to see now. I realized my job is way more important than what I thought because of her. More responsibility, you know? You’ve got to use that properly.”
