DaBaby Takes Inspiration From ‘New Jack City’ For “Sellin Crack” Video With Offset

Jonathan “DaBaby” Kirk returned this week with new visuals. The music video for “Sellin Crack” featuring Offset arrived on May 23.

At the moment, “Sellin Crack” is trending at No. 10 in YouTube’s music section. The DaBaby and Reel Goats-directed clip already amassed more than 900,000 views on YouTube since its premiere.

New Jack City served as inspiration for the “Sellin Crack” music video. DaBaby and Offset play versions of Wesley Snipes’s drug lord character, Nino Brown, from the classic 1991 crime drama.

D’Aydrian Harding, Kane Kongg, and Samaria Stewart appear as special guests in “Sellin Crack.” The Charlie Heat-produced single lives on the three-track Call Da Fireman bundle which dropped on May 5.

Call Da Fireman also hosts the “Ghetto Girls>>>>” and “Shake Sumn” records. “Shake Sumn” peaked at No. 74 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and No. 14 on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart.

Previously, DaBaby made it to the No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 with 2020’s “Rockstar” featuring Roddy Ricch. The North Carolina native scored a solo Top 10 hit with “Suge” in 2019.

DaBaby also led the Billboard 200 chart on two occasions. 2019’s Kirk topped the weekly album rankings for one week. 2020’s Blame It on Baby commanded the Billboard 200 for a single week as well.

Both Kirk and Blame It on Baby received Platinum certification from the RIAA. However, DaBaby experienced a commercial setback with 2022’s Baby on Baby 2 which came after the rapper’s Rolling Loud controversy in 2021.

Travis Scott Discusses How Being Influential Can Become An Issue

Texas-bred recording artist Travis Scott has become one of the most successful Hip Hop acts of the last decade. The rapper/producer topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart four times and built a reported net worth north of $60 million.

Pin-Up, the architecture and design magazine based in New York, caught up with Travis Scott for a rare public interaction. The article featured Scott laying out his design principles from A to Z. The letter “I” focused on impact.

“Making an impact is fun. But sometimes people also flip the question on you in weird ways. There are people who don’t understand why you’re influential, and it can become an issue,” stated Travis Scott.

The 32-year-old “Sicko Mode” hitmaker continued, “The person who had the greatest impact on me and my taste level was [the late fashion designer Virgil Abloh]. He was a true inspiration.”

Travis Scott Has Two Kids With One Of The World’s Most Famous Social Media Influencers

While he has over 16 million subscribers on YouTube and over 49 million followers on Instagram, Travis Scott is not the most active social media user. However, he is likely fully aware of the power of the internet, thanks, in part, to his long-term romantic relationship with über-influencer Kylie Jenner.

Reality show star Kylie Jenner gave birth to their first child, Stormi Webster, in February 2018. The baby arrived six months before Scott dropped his Astroworld album. That project easily sold six times the units of 2016’s Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight in first week totals.

Travis Scott’s forthcoming Utopia album will follow Astroworld which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 537,000 units. Understandably, the Houston native also took artistic inspiration from NASA and the U.S. space program.

“That’s home base: Houston Space Center. The original. Growing up it always kept me thinking of outer space. It had a huge impact on me. The universe is way bigger than where we live,” Travis Scott told Pin-Up.

Offset On His Relationship With Cardi B: We’re A Powerhouse… Icon Status

Offset and Cardi B began dating in 2017 before they tied the knot later that year. The married Hip Hop couple went on to build a multi-million-dollar empire through entertainment, investments, and endorsements.

As Offset prepares to release his sophomore studio album, Variety selected the Georgia-raised rapper as the magazine’s latest cover star. He spoke to the outlet about his upcoming music, the death of Migos member Takeoff, and his relationship with Cardi B.

“She always got my back, right or wrong. We both are on the same mission to make each other better. Social is her strong point, so I listen to her social advice,” said Offset about his spouse. “And me, it’s the music, but I play behind the scenes; it’s my wife so I want to make sure she [wins].”

Set added, “We’re a powerhouse at this point — icon status. We believe in God. We believe in family. We’re always going to keep winning.” Plus, Cardi B told Variety, “I know that I have a man who has my back for real. I fully support him in this next chapter of his music career.”

Offset dropped the Father of 4 studio LP in 2019. In addition to his extensive work with Migos, the Motown/Capitol/UMG recording artist also teamed with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin for 2017’s Without Warning.

Another full-length effort from Offset is up next. Apparently, label insiders view the forthcoming album as a “masterpiece” and “the most anticipated record in the Universal Music Group.” Last year, he let loose the singles “54321” and “Code” with Moneybagg Yo.

Offset’s next body of work will reportedly feature Travis Scott, Future, Chloe Bailey, Latto, and Cardi B. Previously, Set and Cardi joined forces for songs such as “Lick,” “MotorSport,” “Drip,” “Clout,” “Um Yea,” and “Who Want The Smoke?”

Ice Cube Claps Back At Complaints He’s Pushing Black People To Vote Republican

The 2024 U.S. presidential race is already taking center stage as Republican candidates line up to make a run for the White House. Will rapper/actor O’Shea “Ice Cube” Jackson jump into the political fight like he did in 2020?

Three years ago, Ice Cube found himself in the middle of a media firestorm after the Barbershop star aligned himself with the Donald Trump administration. He also introduced his so-called Contract With Black America.

Cube claimed that Democrats turned down the chance to speak with him about his CWBA proposal before the 2020 election. However, Cedric Richmond, the then-national Co-Chair of the Biden-Harris campaign, reportedly did have a Zoom call with the Hip Hop mogul before election day.

In addition, Ice Cube reportedly passed on the chance to have a pre-election Zoom meeting with then-Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris. As a result, some people accused Cube of being a pawn for the Republican Party and Donald Trump.

A Twitter User Calls Out Ice Cube For Presumably Hurting Black America

Then reports surfaced that Cube planned to take part in an event hosted by the pro-Israel Zionist Organization of America. ZOA National President Morton Klein faced accusations of using racist rhetoric as well as backlash for refusing to acknowledge Biden’s election win.

Concerns about Cube’s alleged association with the far right-wing movement continue to this day. On May 22, a social media user, going by the Twitter handle @LilHulkQ, called out Ice Cube for supposedly harming the Black community by promoting African-American voters to abandon the Democratic Party in order to support Republicans.

“Ice Cube only shows up every four years to tell Black people to vote for Republicans who are openly suppressing the Black vote, whitewashing/banning Black History, and killing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs that support Black folks. Hard pass!” read @LilHulkQ’s tweet.

Ice Cube fired back at his online critic on Wednesday. The 53-year-old AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted album creator responded, “I never told yo’ Black ass who to vote for, so stop lying and get that ‘clickbait’ out’cha mouth.”

Ludacris Reveals The Billion-Dollar Reason For Continuing Fast & Furious Franchise

Ludacris wants people to stop asking why they haven’t ended the Fast & Furious franchise, stating it’s the “dumbest” question you could ask him.

Fast X, the latest movie in the franchise debuted in the U.S. on May 19, and while it only made $67.5 million over the opening weekend, the Fast & Furious franchise is a major hit overseas. The blockbuster movie raked in a massive $319 million opening worldwide. The first ten installments  grossed over $6.6 billion

The three-time Grammy Award winner recently discussed the success of the films during a recent appearance on the All The Smoke podcast.

Ludacris Says The Fast & Furious Movies Get Better Each Film

According to Ludacris, the Fast Family defies the stereotype that movie franchises become progressively worse with every sequel.

“Arguably these have gotten better and better,” the rapper and actor declared. “To the point where it’s like people just trying to understand how the hell we keep doing this s###. I also hear people say all the time ‘Why do y’all keep doing these movies?’ That’s the dumbest f###### question in the world.”

Ludacris continued: “I’m gonna tell you why, because no matter what industry we’re in; podcast, music, movies, it’s all about a bottom line. It’s all about how much you spend compared to how much you make. We’re making billions of f###### dollars.”

However, Luda was quick to point out, ”I’m not trying to brag or nothing,” adding he fails to understand the questions about the franchise continuing.

“Because if you spend 200 million and you make a billion who the f### is you gonna tell to stop shooting movies when you’re making 800 muthafuckin million dollars every time,” Ludacris added. “I need people to stop asking that question. Even if you don’t like it, even if you don’t want to watch it, it’s okay. Stop asking that g###### question that is the answer.”

Kim Kardashian Accuses Kanye West Of Starting Drake Affair Rumor: “He Is The One That Is Hurting Me The Most”

Kim Kardashian broke down in tears in the season 3 premiere of The Kardashians while opening up about her divorce from Kanye West. She discussed the “anxiety” she experienced following Ye’s post-split social media outbursts.

During the Thursday (May 25) episode, the SKIMS creators accused him of starting the rumor that she hooked up with Drake during their marriage. While talking to her mother, Kris Jenner, she reflected on Ye’s declaration to be his ex-wife’s “forever protector,” in one interview while disparaging her in other comments.

Kim Kardashian Slams Ye Over Drake Affair Rumor

“He is the one that is hurting me the most. He was the one that started a rumor that said I was hooking up with Drake, having an affair. Our full marriage, he accused me of that publicly,” Kim stated. “So the person that’s supposed to protect me the most — publicly — would accuse me of having an affair throughout our whole marriage. I really can’t wrap my head around how he thinks he is a protector.”

Kim also said she was “having an anxiety attack” and explained she was “on the verge of tears” all morning as Kanye was splashed across the headlines.

“Even through all of the craziness — of everything that Kanye says about us — I never comment. I never post. He has made up the most insane narrative about you and [my sex tape] and we stay silent. We stay silent through all the lies and all the stuff,” she said.

Elsewhere during the episode, Kim Kardashian claimed Kanye West requested “approval” over anything she said about him on the show.

“And I’ll say, ‘Well, you just talked about me in this song, this song, this interview, this interview and you didn’t ask my permission.’ And I never say anything bad,” the reality TV mogul added. “I never say anything negative. If I say I’m exhausted, I feel guilty about that. I am f###### exhausted!”

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Kim appeared on the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast. During the episode, the mother of four admitted she sometimes “cries herself to sleep” over her co-parenting struggles.

Taylor Swift Slammed Over Ice Spice Collab Amid Matty Healy Podcast Controversy

Ice Spice has a new song coming with Taylor Swift, but fans are up in arms about the collab amid the comments made by Swift’s rumored boyfriend, Matty Healy.

The twelve time Grammy Award winner took to Instagram Wednesday to announce is releasing a deluxe version of Midnights on Friday, with the rising star rapper featuring on a new version of “Karma.”

Taylor Swift shared an image of the song’s cover art and proclaimed Ice Spice “the one to watch.”

“Um. SO much to tell you. I’m a massive fan of this brilliant artist and after getting to know her I can confirm: she is THE ONE to watch,” she penned in the caption. “So delighted to say that Karma Featuring the incredible @icespice will be out TOMORROW night at MIDNIGHT ET as a part of the new Midnights (Til Dawn Edition) deluxe album that you can pre-order now at store.taylorswift.com!”

Ice Spice also shared the announcement while thanking Taylor Swift “for being the coolest person on earth.”

Matty Healey’s Podcast Controversy

However, fans of both artists were quick to slam the collab amid Taylor Swift’s rumored relationship with Matty Healy, the frontman of English band the 1975. Earlier this year, the rocker disparaged Ice Spice, making racist remarks about her while he was a guest on a podcast. His comments came weeks after Ice Spice told Elle she is “obsessed” with the 1975.

During an appearance on The Adam Friedland Show podcast in February, he and the hosts made jokes about the “Princess Diana” rapper’s ethnicity. They dubbed her “Inuit Spice Girl” and “this chubby Chinese lady,” before using Chinese and Hawaiian accents. The episode has since been pulled from Apple and Spotify.

Matt Healey attempted an apology last month during the 1975’s stop in Auckland, New Zealand.

“I just feel a bit bad, and I’m kind of a bit sorry if I’ve offended you,” he told the audience. “Ice Spice, I’m sorry. It’s not because I’m annoyed that me joking got misconstrued. It’s because I don’t want Ice Spice to think I’m a dick. I love you, Ice Spice. I’m so sorry.”

Social Media Reacts To Taylor Swift Ice Spice Collab

Following the new collab announcement, many fans took to social media to denounce the pairing, with some believing it was a calculated move by Taylor Swift and her PR team.

“first collab with a black woman ever because your man a racist who used racist terminology in reference to the person you’re collaborating with… very calcuated miss swift,” read one tweet.

Nicki Minaj And Caresha Go Back And Forth And Diddy Gets Mentioned

Here we go again!

Nicki Minaj took exception to something on Elon Musk’s Twitter and it involves Caresha, Diddy and the gays.

Here’s how it went down. Caresha posted this:

After the post, people were loving it. They were laughing and carrying on. It got a lot of traction online. I did not watch it myself, FYI. I was just not in the mood to disrupt Guardians of the Galaxy.

So, there’s a phrase in the video I did not watch. And Nicki said that it is HER Queen Radio phrase. She essentially checked her young counterpart. Check it.

So here’s the full scoop.

On Wednesday (May 24), Yung Miami gave a sneak peek of an upcoming episode of her talk show, “Caresha Please,” featuring Summer Walker. The episode hits tomorrow – May 25.

Minaj took to Twitter to express her thoughts on the trailer, possibly jokingly hitting Diddy with a message about it all. Nicki said Caresha has borrowed from Queen Radio. Yung Miami promptly responded, stating that she didn’t get the catchphrase from Minaj and explained that it was actually a slang term used within the gay community.

After all this happened, Caresha hits her stop mentioning it at all. Then, Nicki jumped back on her case, stating that gay slang was an excuse. She also said she would love to have her on the show. Mo ratings! Diddy has remained silent on Twitter. Yung Caresha said she’s on the way to her man!

Travis Scott Wants To Prove “Utopian Things Can Exist” With New Album

Travis Scott shed light on why he named his next album Utopia in an article for Pin-Up Magazine.

The Epic Records artist said he doesn’t view the concept of a utopia as something abstract or unachievable. Travis Scott hoped to make it seem more feasible through his music.

“Utopia is something that people feel is so far-fetched and out of reach, some perfect state of mind,” he explained. “But you create it yourself. There are people who achieve utopia every day. They may not be the richest people with the dopest cribs, but it’s a utopia wherever they are, and that’s the most you can have.”

He continued, “With every album I live in these worlds in my mind — I’m trying to show people experiences where utopian things can exist, and you can enjoy yourself and have a good time. They can create energy that spews out magical things — new cures, new buildings, new avenues for people to move forward. People need to see that utopia is real.”

No release date has been announced for Travis Scott’s Utopia. Frequent collaborator Mike Dean provided an update on the album on Tuesday (May 23).

UTOPIA WILL BE DONE WITH WHEN TRAV AND I SAY ITS DONE,” he wrote on Twitter. “DO NOT RUSH LET US COOK.”

Travis Scott hasn’t released a solo album since 2018’s Astroworld. Earlier this year, Epic Records CEO Sylvia Rhone said the label expected Utopia to drop in June.

Migos Fact Check: Fans Surprised To Learn Offset Isn’t Quavo’s Cousin

Migos fans learned the truth about the group’s family dynamics on Wednesday (May 24).

A Variety story revealed Offset wasn’t related to Quavo and the late Takeoff. The article confirmed Quavo was Takeoff’s uncle but debunked the assumption that Offset was their cousin.

“Although Offset is often referred to as Quavo’s cousin, they are actually not biologically related,” the story noted.

Many fans shared their stunned reactions on social media. Some refused to believe Offset wasn’t related to his fellow Migos members.

Variety’s Offset story covered his struggle to cope with Takeoff’s death. Offset admitted it’s difficult for him to even talk about his longtime Migos collaborator.

“It’s hard for me to talk about s### right now,” Offset said. “I’ve never talked about this stuff. Seriously. Talking about Take is hard, man. Talking about all this s### is hard. That’s why I don’t, to be honest. That s### hurts. Like, it’s gonna put me in a mood, and I don’t want to get in that mood. Some things I don’t never tell nobody. He’s not here. That s### feels fake, bro. I get through my day thinking it’s fake. And I don’t say nothing to nobody about it.”

Takeoff was shot and killed in November 2022. The Migos rapper was 28.

Westside Gunn Reveals Death Of Claire From Griselda’s ‘WWCD’ Album Cover

Westside Gunn mourned the loss of a Buffalo panhandler known as Claire, who died in a fatal car crash on Tuesday (May 23).

Claire, whose real name was Clara Gomez, became known outside of Buffalo after she was featured on the cover of Griselda’s WWCD album. Westside Gunn informed his Twitter followers about her death on Wednesday (May 24).

“My fav Buffalo Kid,” Westside Gunn wrote. “You’ll be Loved Forever #IMMORTAL #RIPCLAIRE.”

Westside Gunn’s post included a few photos of Claire. One showed the 58-year-old woman posing in his Buffalo Kids gear.

According to multiple reports, Claire was killed when an SUV hit her at the Buffalo Metro Rail station. Police said two women in the vehicle were chased by a man who was shooting at them from another vehicle.

Westside Gunn didn’t comment on the circumstances of Claire’s death. Authorities apprehended a 22-year-old man named Marlon D. Servance Jr. for his alleged role in the deadly car crash.

Servance was charged with one count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and one count of first-degree reckless endangerment. He was held without bail.

Erie County District Attorney John Flynn said Servance could face more charges. Servance is scheduled to appear in court on Friday (May 26).

Feds Say Rapper Bankrolled Music Career With $60 Million Marijuana Ponzi Scheme

The Securities and Exchange Commission received an emergency order to shut down a rapper’s marijuana startup, which allegedly defrauded investors.

Federal regulators claimed rapper Patrick Earl Williams, who uses the stage name BigRigBaby, ran a Ponzi-like scheme with his partner Rolf Max Hirschmann for several years. The men raised $60 million for a marijuana business called WeedGenics but allegedly pocketed the money for personal use dating back to at least 2019.

Hirschmann and Williams allegedly convinced investors to back the expansion of WeedGenics facilities, but they never owned or operated an actual facility for the marijuana operation. The feds said Hirschmann used a fake name in talks with investors.

The SEC accused Hirschmann and Williams of transferring money through multiple accounts to spend it on cars, jewelry, real estate and more. Williams allegedly used the funds to support his rap career.

“Rolf Hirschmann and Patrick Williams allegedly had no real company, no product and no business, yet despite this, they promised investors everything and then delivered nothing,” the SEC’s Michele Wein Layne said in a press release. “This action demonstrates that, despite the defendants’ extensive efforts to avoid detection, the SEC has the ability to uncover fraud to protect investors.”

The SEC sought injunctions against Hirschmann and Williams for violating the antifraud provisions of securities laws. A court granted a temporary restraining order and froze their assets.

Music Icon Tina Turner—The “Queen Of Rock & Roll—Dead At 83

Queen of Rock & Roll Tina Turner died at her home in Switzerland on Wednesday (May 24). She was 83. In a statement obtained by Rolling Stone, her family said, “Tina Turner, the ‘Queen of Rock’n Roll’ has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model.”

Warner Music Group CEO Max Lousada said in another statement, “All of us at Warner Music are deeply saddened by the passing of the one and only Tina Turner. A global icon and trailblazer, instantly recognizable by her incredible voice and inimitable style, she was one of the greatest stars of all time.

“Even after the countless awards, the 180 million album sales, the record-breaking tours, and unforgettable acting roles, Tina will be remembered most through the sheer joy of her music. So powerful is her extraordinary, universal appeal that there is no doubt she will continue to influence generations to come. She stands as the epitome of artistic self-empowerment. We offer our heartfelt condolences to her husband Erwin Bach, family, friends, and countless fans around the world.”

Tina Turner began her singing career in the 1950s while still attending high school. She ultimately linked up with future husband Ike Turner and his band, the Kings of Rhythm, but would only perform with them on occasion. Her talent proved to be too big to contain and she eventually launched a solo career.

One of her biggest solo albums, Private Dancer, arrived in 1984, several years after her marriage to Ike imploded. The project peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and has been certified 5x-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Turner toured well into her 60s and retired in 2007.

In terms of Hip-Hop, Tina Turner has been sampled numerous times by multiple Hip-Hop artists, including Fat Joe, The Notorious B.I.G., The Roots, Childish Gambino and Kool G Rap. The Roots’ Questlove is among the many paying tribute to Tina Turner on social media.

“Survivor,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “The King & Queen. She was everything. Man…. This is one of the figures I just knew would live in her 3 digits. I was not prepared to say goodbye to Tina Turner. But it’s 2023……and here we are. What an AMAZING life. Love you forever Tina Turner. Rest In Melody.”

Alabama Barker Explains Why She’s Not A Culture Vulture

Travis Barker’s daughter has come out swinging, molly whopping all those questioning her place in Hip-Hop culture.

The up-and-coming rapper, who now has ties to the rap-loving Kardashian-Jenner family since her dad married Kourtney Kardashian, took to TikTok, and posted proof that she has been about this life.

Of course, she deleted the TikTok video.

However, according to PEOPLE magazine, Alabama Barker let people have it, saying, “I’m tired of people saying I don’t know anything about rap music, I wasn’t raised around rap music, I wasn’t anything.”

The 17-year-old continued, “So, let’s take a little field day into my life because you guys know it so well.”

The young lady allegedly posted pictures of her with top emcees like Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne, from when her dad was on the “I Am Music II Tour” in 2011 with them.

While talking about the “Super Bass” chart-topper, she said, “So, the first thing that I’m going to point out is this tour. This tour was when I was about 5 years old. [I was] 5 years old watching her set every day. I knew every lyric.”

Her major stunt was posting her with Rihanna, one of Hip-Hop’s queens (despite her not being a rapper).

“I went to Rihanna’s music video when she shot the ‘Umbrella’ song, I believe — or one of her songs. So, another song I loved,” she said.

“Then, once I got a little bit older this was another tour that I was on. It was Blink and Wayne,” Alabama Barker recalled. “Every night I would watch the Wayne show when I was like 11 years old.”

Before rattling off names and posting pics of her with the like A$AP Ferg, Wiz Khalifah, Pharrell and others.

“This is us at dinner with Asap Ferg and my dad,” she said of the latter photo. “I was also a huge fan of his music, and I knew every lyric to half of his songs.”

With a celebrity dad like Travis Barker, there is no surprise that for her birthday she had acts like DRAM, Lil Yachty, and Trippie Redd perform.

“Since I could walk, I was in the music industry. I was watching my dad perform in punk bands, rock bands, in rap concerts, everything,” explained Alabama Barker.

Adding, “So, for the people that say, ‘Oh, she doesn’t know anything about rap music. She didn’t grow up around rap music. Why is she doing this? Why is she doing that?’ I’ve been influenced by rap my entire upbringing and punk rock.”

“I know I am privileged, and I’m beyond grateful for that and blessed. It’s not OK for people to make fun of or disrespect any culture at all. So, if me being a rapper bugs you, then you can just keep moving and stop commenting,” Alabama Barker ended.

Fetty Wap Sentenced To Six Years In Prison For Flooding U.S. With Cocaine

Fetty Wap was reportedly sentenced to six years in federal prison on Wednesday (May 24) after being accused of trafficking narcotics across the country. According to The New York Times, he’ll also serve five years of probation once he’s released. The sentence is one year longer than the recommended mandatory minimum. Prosecutors pushed for the extra time in a letter to the judge last week that suggested he’d used his fame to “glamorize the drug trade.”

Breon Peace, U.S. attorney for the Eastern District, argued, “Young people who admire the defendant and are considering selling drugs need to be sent a message that selling drugs is not a glamorous lifestyle and, if they participate in that trade, they will receive lengthy prison sentences.”

Fetty Wap was one of several defendants charged and found guilty of being part of an organization that distributed more than 100 kilograms of drugs in Long Island and New Jersey. He was arrested in October 2021 at Rolling Loud New York shortly before he was scheduled to perform. He was initially released on bond but has been in custody since pleading guilty last August.

Cops Rush To Ja Morant’s House After Concerning Social Media Posts

NBA star Ja Morant, a point guard for the Memphis Grizzlies, was the subject of a welfare check by local police following a series of cryptic posts on his Instagram account, according to Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

The posts, which were later deleted, included pictures of Morant with his family and a simple message saying “bye.”

A spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office told TMZ, officers visited Morant’s home in Tennessee shortly after the posts were shared. Morant reportedly told the officers that he was taking a break from social media.

“He is fine,” the spokesperson added.

The posts came amidst a recent scandal involving Morant brandishing a firearm on Instagram Live, leading to his suspension by the Memphis Grizzlies.

In the most recent incident, Morant was seen flashing a gun on Instagram Live while listening to NBA YoungBoy with a friend. Fans quickly captured the incident in screenshots and circulated on social media.

The Grizzlies were informed and swiftly issued suspended him, leaving his future with the team in doubt.

This was not the first time Morant had faced scrutiny for similar actions.

In March, he was at the center of an investigation by the Glendale Police Department in Colorado after appearing on Instagram Live with a gun while visiting a local strip club.

Morant denied the gun was his and was not charged with a crime. However, the NBA conducted its investigation and suspended him for eight games without pay.

Morant enrolled in a counseling program in Florida, but he is currently suspended from all team activities pending a league review. The NBA’s investigation into the recent incident remains ongoing.

Fans rushed to Ja’s side after the social media post and news of the welfare check started spreading online.

“Ja is a human being, and we all make mistakes; no one is provided with suitable role models, and no one is supposed to be faultless. Rather than condemning, let us celebrate the generational talent that we all appreciate and hope for the best,” one user wrote.

Another added: “Sending positive vibes and energy.”

However, not everyone was so sympathic. One user claimed Ja Morant was playing up mental health issues to avoid taking responsiblity for his unhealthy infatuation with guns.

“Hey man f### #JaMorant f###### p############ playing on #mentalhealth because his d###### on Insta with guns all the time and he losing millions of dollars over it. Anyone who uses Mental Health as an excuse for s##### narcissistic behavior should be jailed,” one user fumed.

EXCLUSIVE: Yak Gotti Tries For Bond Again Despite Jail Behavior Since Incarceration In YSL RICO Case

Rapper Yak Gotti, a member of Young Thug’s Young Stoner Life (YSL) crew, has made another motion for bond after being charged in the YSL Rico case.

Yak Gotti, whose real name is Deamonte Kendrick, was denied bond in June of 2022 after the State argued that he and his co-defendants posed a danger to the community.

Since the denial of the bond, several co-defendants have been offered plea agreements (including Gunna) and allowed to return to the community, despite previous arguments by the State that they posed a threat.

Yak Gotti’s legal team has questioned the State’s consistency in assessing the defendants’ threat level.

The rapper’s legal team argues that he poses no significant risk of fleeing, committing any crime pending trial, or obstructing the administration of justice.

They assure that Yak Gotti will comply with all court orders if he is granted bail.

Yak Gotti’s bond motion comes after several incidents that have kept him in the public eye. He was previously caught with a phone in the Cobb County Jail, which led to his bond being denied.

Prosecutors also accused Yak Gotti of participating in gang activity since his arrest in May, alleging that he used another inmate’s code to use the phone inside the jail.

His mother was also charged with a misdemeanor when authorities found rolling papers and tobacco in a bag she dropped off for him at the Fulton County Courthouse.

Yak Gotti is facing murder racketeering charges for allegedly participating in the killing of Donovan “Big Nut” Thomas, who was a close associate of rival rapper YFN Lucci, which sparked a war between the YSL/YFN faction of the Bloods.

Yak Gotti was accused of snitching after he was initially denied bond. He was forced to deny accusations that he allegedly cooperated with prosecutors in a 2015 fatal shooting involving YSL Duke.

Despite the charges and allegations, Yak Gotti’s legal team insists he is a hardworking family man with significant community support.

They argue that the Court’s failure to set a reasonable bond for Yak Gotti has kept him unjustly incarcerated since his arrest.

Cops Claim Famous Richard Cried Like A Baby In Jail After Getting Caught For Taunting Cops

New York City police are different, and they are never afraid to blow up the spot of a thug trying to act tough.

Just ask Chicago rapper Famous Richard.

The NYC transplant recently got into a squabble with officers from the New York Police Department and took to social media to humiliate the cops. The drill rapper gained a reputation for attempting to remove guns from officers’ holsters and bragging online about never getting caught.

However, on May 12, he got busted, and according to the police, all the big talk he does on his songs and on TikTok was reduced into whimpers.

Famous Richard, whose real name is Richard Sharp, and is allegedly a member of the Chi-town street gang the Black Disciples, was arrested in Jamaica, Queens, according to the New York Post.

As officers approached him for the arrest, nabbing him for obstructing traffic, he shouted, “I’m going to take your pipe.”

The rapper was already a suspect for threatening to do this to other officers, and a spokesperson for the NYPD said the comment sought “to intimidate officers and caused reasonable expectation of fear of taking the officer’s firearm.”

After resisting arrest, the rapper was “arraigned on charges of making a terroristic threat, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, menacing and disorderly conduct — which are all eligible for bail — and was released on his own recognizance.”

Upon release, Famous Richard hopped on TikTok as he left the police station house. As he was flexing about getting out of custody, he tried to put officers on camera, but one of the officers flipped on him.

The cops reminded him he was “crying in our cells” when his phone was taken while he was inside.

“You’re the guy that got arrested,” one cop said. “You were crying in the cells. I remember that.”

At a different spot, Famous Richard tried to go live again. This time, an officer from Midtown North Precinct says on cam, “What’s up son. You was crying in the cells last week, right?”

He snapped back, “Who told you that?” “I saw you, bro,” the cop said.

In an effort to distract from what the officer was saying, asking another officer, “I was crying in the cells?” The cop responded, “You were crying in the cells, big guy.”

“Stop lying on my name. You got everybody on TikTok thinking I was really crying,” the rapper replies.

The officers never said they were joking.
