Warren G Talks Getting Left Out Of Death Row Records, What Dr. Dre Said

Warren G reflected on his history with Death Row Records in an interview with Big Boy.

Big Boy wondered why Death Row never signed Warren G despite his family ties to Dr. Dre. Warren G admitted he didn’t know the exact reason but speculated it might’ve been because he “used to bump heads a little bit” with Suge Knight.

Warren G detailed a few of his past issues with Knight. The West Coast artist also recalled the moment he realized he wouldn’t be part of Death Row after working on Dr. Dre’s classic album The Chronic.

“When I knew I wasn’t a part of it is when we were supposed to go out for the first tour and everybody had everything in order and I didn’t have nothing,” he told Big Boy. “I didn’t have no ticket, no information, no nothing. So, I packed like I’m going. I’m like, ‘S### I guess they gonna get my s### when I get to the airport.’ Got to the airport, wasn’t nothing happening. They had went and did they thing and I was pretty butthurt.”

Warren G spoke with Dr. Dre when Dre returned from the tour. Their conversation left Warren G wondering about his future.

“When I had a chance, I asked Dre,” he said. “I was like, ‘Man, what’s up? What’s going on?’ And he just was like, ‘You gotta be your own man.’ Huh? I don’t know what to do.”

Warren G ended up at his sister’s house sleeping on the floor. But things worked out for him as he eventually scored placement on the Poetic Justice soundtrack and signed a deal with Def Jam Recordings.

Kim Kardashian has admitted she sometimes “cries herself to sleep” when dealing with parenting struggles.

During a recent conversation for the “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” podcast, the reality TV star spoke candidly about raising four children – North, nine, Saint, seven, Chicago, five, and four-year-old Psalm – with ex-husband Kanye West.

In particular, Kim emphasized how tricky it is to meet her kids’ individual needs.

“It has been the most challenging thing. There are nights I cry myself to sleep. Like, h########, this f###### tornado in my house. Like, what just happened?” she asked, according to a preview obtained by People. “You know, with all the moods and the personalities, and sometimes they’re fighting, and you know, there’s no one there. Like, it’s (just) me to play good police officer and bad cop.”

But while parenting is “really f###### hard,” Kim insisted she loves being a mom.

“It is the most rewarding job in the entire world. It is. There is nothing that can prepare you… I don’t care how long you wait. I don’t care what you’re waiting for. You are never prepared,” the 42-year-old continued. “But you will figure it out, and it will make you so proud of yourself that you figured it out and that you got through the day.”

Kim and Kanye were married from 2014 until their divorce was finalized last November.

Three Dead Following Mass Shooting At Nutty Still Gassin’ Concert In Kansas City

Three people were killed and two more were wounded during a mass shooting at a Missouri nightclub early Sunday (May 21). According to KMBC 9 News, the deadly incident took place at the Klymax Lounge shortly before closing time. A Kansas City area rapper, Nutty Still Gassin, was performing that evening, evidenced by a Facebook video he posted from the club.

Officers arrived at 1:26 a.m. local time and discovered five victims. Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Another shooting victim died at the hospital and one remains in critical condition. One of the club’s security guards, 41-year-old Jason McConnell, has been identified as one of the three killed.

A woman who lives near the nightclub told Kansas City.com she woke up to a series of about 10 gunshots. Outside, she saw a young woman’s body near the club doors and people stepping over her as they scrambled to leave. Two more bodies lay at a nearby street lamp. She also watched EMTs bring another body down on a stretcher from a nearby hill.

Police are asking anyone with information to call detectives at 816-234-5043 or the anonymous TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477. A reward of up to $25,000 is available for information leading to an arrest.

With the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop officially landing on August 11, the celebrations are in full force. On Saturday (May 20), MC Sha-Rock—Hip-Hop’s first female MC—was honored at the 51st Annual Bronx Ball. During the festivities, Sha-Rock was given the Key to the Bronx. Her daughter, Tia Evette, shared several photos of the event to her Instagram account and applauded Sha-Rock for her accomplishments.

“Last night, my mother was honored for her remarkable achievements with a significant recognition,” she captioned the post. “The Bronx Tourism Council, in collaboration with the Bronx Borough President, Vennessa L. Gibson, presented her with the prestigious Key to the Bronx. This is a testament to her immeasurable impact on the borough and the world of Hip Hop.

“As I stand alongside her, I proudly carry forward her legacy, continuing to champion the empowerment of women in Hip Hop and beyond. Together, we will ensure that the spirit of Hip Hop lives on and that future generations are inspired to break barriers, just as my mother did.”

The Cold Crush Brothers were also honored with their own Key to the Bronx due to their pioneering contributions to Hip-Hop, which Sha-Rock acknowledged in a statement to AllHipHop.

“To be honored with the Key to the Bronx was so surreal,” MC Sha-Rock says. “It felt as though I was in a Twilight Zone. For the Bronx to acknowledge my contributions as the first women MC and a trailblazer of the cultural phenomenon we call Hip-Hop is a testament to my legacy. This was the first time in history that a woman was ever presented a Key to the Bronx. Respect to The Crush Brothers who were presented with a Key to the Bronx as well. Thank you Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson, Bronx Tourism Counsel, Andy King and the Hip-Hop community.”

The 2023 Bronx Ball brought out a bevy of stars, including Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star Tatyana Ali, who ran into Sha-Rock not long after she received the key. In another Instagram post, both women are visibly elated as they bask in the moment.

MC Sha-Rock was a member of the Funky 4 + 1 and the sole female MC of the group. In 1981, they became the first Hip-Hop group to appear on national television after Blondie’s Debbie Harry invited them to perform on Saturday Night Live. Sha-Rock is affectionately referred to as a the “Mother of the Mic,” a title she rightfully earned.

Martha Stewart has responded to online criticism surrounding her Sports Illustrated cover.

Oddly, some users were upset with how much skin Martha showed and blamed rapper Snoop Dogg for turning her out.

Others claimed photo editors at Sports. Illustrated retouched her photos to make her look younger.

While speaking to Variety for an interview, the television personality opened up about covering Sports Illustrated’s recent Swimsuit Issue.

At 81 years old, Martha broke the record by becoming the oldest woman to grace the cover of the annual magazine edition.

When asked whether she had been reading Instagram comments about the cover, Martha described most of them as “very good,” however, she noted that she has seen some critical reactions.

“There are only a few naysayers saying, ‘The pictures are over-retouched.’ But they’re not. They are incredibly accurate pictures. I was really pleased that there was not much airbrushing,” she stated.

The lifestyle guru also addressed claims that she’d undergone plastic surgery to look so good for her age.

“I’ve had absolutely no plastic surgery whatsoever. I have very healthy, good hair,” she insisted. “I drink green juice every day. I take my vitamins. I eat very healthfully. I have very good skin doctors. I’m very careful in the sun. I wear hats and I wear sunblock every single day… They are incredibly accurate pictures. I was really pleased that there was not much airbrushing.”
However, Martha admitted that she has been tempted by fillers.
“Every now and then there are certain fillers that I can do for a little line here or there, but I hate Botox,” she shared. “It’s a weird thing for me. I really and truly don’t do a lot.”

N.O.R.E. Says Wiz Khalifa Lifted The “Black Cloud” Left By Kanye West’s “Drink Champs” Episode

Drink Champs is still going strong seven years after N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN decided to take the plunge into podcasting. In fact, one could argue it’s bigger than ever. In January 2023, Drink Champs signed an audio exclusive licensing deal with Warner Music Group’s podcast network, Interval Presents. Under the new agreement, Interval Presents gained the exclusive licensing rights to the audio version of the podcast on all major podcast platforms.

Currently inching toward their 370th episode, N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN have fielded several notable guests, including the inimitable Kanye West—not once but twice. West’s most recent appearance was in October 2022 and proved to be the most controversial. During the episode, West suggested George Floyd wasn’t killed by Minneapolis police and instead, died of a fentanyl overdose. West’s comments sparked public outrage while Floyd’s family threatened legal action. Ultimately, Drink Champs made the decision to pull the episode.

N.O.R.E. later addressed the controversy online and expressed regret over how things played out. But months later, there was still a negativity looming in the air. It wasn’t until Wiz Khalifa visited the studio that N.O.R.E. felt a lightness return.

“God bless the brother Kanye,” N.O.R.E. tells AllHipHop. “But Kanye kind of gave us a black cloud. And to be honest with you, we didn’t know what to do. Our heart was in the right place. We’re not about the controversy. That’s not what we’re about. And what we’re also not about is editing. What we should have did was just let it be, but we wanted to take a positive approach.

“We wanted to say, ‘You know what? We don’t want to benefit off of this. If anybody is offended by this, we don’t want to benefit so we took it down. We probably should have thought a little bit more about it. This is me—and I’m being vulnerable right now—but it was like a black cloud almost.”

N.O.R.E. was getting a haircut when Wiz Khalifa arrived to record his episode. N.O.R.E. said hello but didn’t get up to give him a hug because he was in the barber chair.

“Wiz sat down, I finished my hair cut, wiped all the hair off of me and then I gave Wiz a hug,” he recalls. “When Wiz gave me that hug, I felt like the black cloud just got lifted. I feel like Wiz lifted that black cloud because he came with so much positive energy. What I’m trying to say is I know he’s a god. I know he’s the god of positive energy. Because from that day on, I felt like the black cloud was lifted.”

Lizzo has insisted she is not “trying to escape fatness” with her workout routine.

The “2 Be Loved” singer took to TikTok earlier this week to share a passionate body-positive message with her almost 27 million followers.

She responded to a video by a TikTok user who stated that she was on a fitness journey and in search of other people who are not trying to “escape fatness.”

Lizzo eagerly responded to the user’s video in her own post by saying, “Heavy on the not trying to escape fatness.”

She continued, “I just wanted to stitch this (video with mine) to show support to you because this creator, specifically, said, ‘I’m looking for people that I can resonate with.’ (I’m the) very, very same.”

The 35-year-old performer explained that her job, which includes dancing, singing and hyping crowds, is “high performance” and requires “a lot of physical endurance.”

“As I got more professional in my career, I started to take the physical part more seriously,” she shared. “I’ve always loved moving my body, I’ve always loved working out… I think a lot of people see a fat person that way and immediately just assume everything they are doing is trying to be thin. I’m not trying to be thin, I don’t ever want to be thin.”

The “Juice” singer also explained that her goal for exercise has “always” been to improve her mental health.

Ice Cube Rallies Against AI-Generated Music, Vows To Sue Anyone Who Uses His Voice

Ice Cube is weighing in on the the use of AI in the music industry, a hot topic as of late. Last month, Drake expressed his disdain for an AI-generated version of his voice rapping along to Ice Spice’s viral song “Munch (Feelin’ U).” Taking to his Instagram stories, the OVO Sound boss wrote, “This is the final straw AI.”

Ice Cube apparently isn’t feeling AI either. During a recent interview, the N.W.A legend was asked if he’d heard the AI Drake song and he made it abundantly clear how he felt about it. He also vowed to sue anybody who tried to use his voice on anything he didn’t approve.

“I don’t want to hear an AI Drake song,” Ice Cube says in the clip. “I don’t want to hear that b#######. He should sue whoever made it.”

When one of the hosts suggested there was an AI Ice Cube right around the corner, Cube quips, “And I’m gonna sue the m########### who make it, too, and the people behind the platform who play it. It’s like a sample. Somebody can’t take your original voice and manipulate it without having to pay.”

The use of AI-generated vocals have prompted major labels to take action. Universal Music Group had fake songs from both Drake and The Weeknd removed from streaming services.

As reported by the Financial Times, UMG continues to urge Apple Music, YouTube and Spotify to block companies that use AI from access to its copyrighted songs. UMG says the AI companies use their artists’ music to train the technology required to produce melodies and lyrics that were never recorded by actual people.

“We have become aware that certain AI systems might have been trained on copyrighted content without obtaining the required consents from, or paying compensation to, the rightsholders who own or produce the content,” UMG wrote in a statement. “We will not hesitate to take steps to protect our rights and those of our artists.”

Warner Music Group (WMG) and Sony Music are also in talks with the music streaming services to find a way to quickly and easily remove recordings with AI-generated vocals.

As for Ice Cube, don’t expect to hear an AI version of “It Was A Good Day” anytime soon. Logic was enough.

Wilmer Valderrama Says LL Cool J Let Him Hear His “Incredible” New Music

Actor Wilmer Valderrama is one of the first people to preview LL COOL J’s new music, and he’s calling it “incredible.”

During a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Hudson asked the That ’70s Show actor what it was like to appear opposite the Hip-Hop icon on a recent episode of the TV series NCIS. Valderrama admitted he begged LL COOL J to get back into the recording studio.

“Being on set together was phenomenal,” he said. “I think all of us were thinking it but it probably took five minutes of being with LL and I was like, ‘I mean, we need new music. Let’s go… it’s important for the community. This generation needs to hear what rap really is.’

“Someone like him, who pop culturally has our hearts, when he comes back with who he really is, the legend that he’s always been. I think it’s going to be incredible.”

Valderrama divulged that LL even let him listen to some of the songs he’s working on.

“I can’t say a word ’cause I know he’s going to do it soon but it’s everything we want him to do,” the 43-year-old added.

Kim Kardashian On Her Way To Becoming Powerful Lawyer After Midterm Exams

Kim Kardashian achieved near-perfect grades on her most recent law school midterms.

While promoting her latest SKIMS pop-up in New York City’s Rockefeller Center, the TV personality/entrepreneur updated Today on her current law school journey.

“I’m still studying. I’m actually in constitutional law one and two rig now. It’s my toughest; not the biggest fan of it, I’ve been sharing my struggle,” she revealed. “But with that said, I took a midterm yesterday. I got 100 percent and then I got a 95 percent on my other midterm, so I feel – that gives me that boost of confidence again just to push through.”

In terms of what will come next for the aspiring lawyer, Kim added: “Hopefully, in the next year or so, I can take the official bar and be done.”

The 42-year-old passed the baby bar exam in 2021 after failing three times.

At the time, she enthusiastically announced on Twitter, “OMFGGGG I PASSED THE BABY BAR EXAM!!!! Looking in the mirror, I am really proud of the woman looking back today in the reflection.”

Kim has consistently advocated for wrongfully convicted inmates and unfair sentences.

Her first legal success came in 2018 when she campaigned for the clemency of Alice Marie Johnson, who had been sentenced to life in prison for a nonviolent crime.

Rihanna has officially confirmed the name of her son while sharing photos from her first pregnancy.

The 35-year-old hitmaker took to Instagram to share photos from a glamorous maternity shoot she posed for during her first pregnancy.

The Barbadian singer, who rocked glitzy jewelry and stilettos in the topless pictures, reflected on pregnancy and motherhood in the caption and confirmed that her son was called RZA.

The due date of her second baby has not been announced.

Nick Cannon attempted to reach out to Kanye West after he made antisemitic comments.

Last year, the “Stronger” rapper hit headlines after he made a string of offensive remarks about Jewish people on social media and in interviews, leading to him becoming widely condemned and losing a series of sponsorships and partnerships.

During a recent interview for the Los Angeles Times, Nick revealed that he tried to speak to Kanye when he first became embroiled in the controversy.

“Kanye is saying some wild s**t, and I don’t know if he really believes it,” the TV personality told the outlet. “I tried to talk to him. I tried to put him with leaders in the Jewish community. I think it’s a lot more there. I just know he’s in desperate need of help and love and people to not abandon him.”

Nick is no stranger to sparking debate himself.

Rick Ross Demands DJ Envy Mop His Floors And Clean His Pool As Car Show Beef Intensifies

Rapper Rick Ross and DJ Envy have been throwing verbal daggers at each other, and at the core of their “beef” is which influencer has the better car show.

As reported by AllHipHop.com, Rozay plans to host his car show on June 3, provided he is not shut down by South Fulton, Georgia’s council members.

DJ Envy, one of the hosts of The Breakfast Club, plans to throw his “Drive Your Dreams” car show on May 28 in Memphis, TN.

The Maybach Music executive took to social media to mock Envy calling him “Beige Boy” and asking him to share with the public exactly how he lives.

“Show us how you live, Beige boy,” the rapper-turned-mogul said as he shows off his car lot on his spacious Promise Land property. “Please. I told you; you are not on my level. I don’t want to humiliate you.”

The digs continued as Ross mocked Envy with his many sponsors while implying he (Ross) is solely funding his car show.

At one point in an Instagram Live, captured by Hoodzone Productions, Rick Ross invoked the name of Young Dolph, and said the people of Memphis won’t let him get away with fronting in their city.

In a different clip, Ross claims that people are upset because of his new caps, fly top pieces that sport the car show’s logo. He said someone told him that in addition to the caps, Envy and others are upset because 50 Cent, Envy’s big homie, lost his house… mocking the “Power” showrunner by calling him by his first name.

A third clip shows the “Hustlin’” chart-topper in his foyer, claiming he is waiting for Envy to come to his home and mop his floors.

He said, “You’ve been a great co-host on the Charlamagne tha God show. You can come and mop my floors. Mop this marble out of respect.”

Ross told Envy he would like his girlfriend to steam the woodwork while he cleans the floor. He also tells Envy and his kids to clean his pool.

The video goes on, with Ross calling the radio personality a “clown” and taunting him with his custom cars, accessories, and even his own fire truck.

This beef has gone on for some time. In 2022, DJ Envy took to social media to try and mock Ross about the quality of cars the rapper has.

But in 2023, after getting smacked up on Instagram by Ross, Envy clapped back. During his show, he teased Ross for renting out his home to film movies like “Coming 2 America” and shows like “Boomerang.”

He added Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and his friend 50 Cent would never do that.

Lil Wop has fans confused (again) after posting a handful of pictures of himself dressed in women’s clothing.

On Friday (May 19), the Gucci Mane affiliate shared a photo of himself wearing a yellow wig, red bikini top and matching thigh-highs. He explained in the caption he’d decided to transition but didn’t specify his preferred pronouns. He wrote, “In The Transition Into Becoming A Full Transgender.”

Fans weren’t sure if this was a joke or he really has begun the process. As one person wrote, “I can’t tell if you’re trolling now or serious.” Another added, “At this point I think this is just your last ditch ‘effort’ to save your ‘career.’ This just doesn’t seem genuine at all bruh.”

Others were offended, writing things like, “As a transgender WOMAN.. someone transitioning to be a (transgender) is a mockery of the community.” Yet another said, “I’m transgender and please don’t say u want be trans for clout or attention being trans is not a joke or a attempt to get people to watch u. A photo of Lil Wop in drag went viral earlier this month, but this is the first time he’s mentioned his intentions to become a woman. It appears Lil Wop is attempting to lure fans to his new OnlyFans page.

Lil Wop came out as bisexual in 2022. He also publicly admitted he’s attracted to feminine men and transgender women.

Rapper and businessman Rick Ross wants to host a car show and rodeo at his Fayetteville, GA home, but officials in Fayette County have shut that down.

The county would not approve permits for him to have the event claiming it will disrupt traffic in the otherwise slow-moving town but Rozay is willing to risk any fines, and is having the car show anyway.

He took to Instagram to make the announcement— sporting his beautiful red hog.

Council member Linda Pritchett representing District 7 was one who especially objected, saying too many people would come to South Fulton.

“It’s a logistical nightmare,” Pritchett said. “Anyone who wants to attend the event has to come through the city of South Fulton to get there.”

She was especially concerned about the intersection of Old National Highway and Highway 138 nearby, believing it would block local businesses. “

The council member said, “For 12-plus hours you will have a constant flow of traffic, a saturated, constant flow of people. Cars parked illegally and parked in shopping centers where patrons cannot park.”

Other business owners chimed in noting that there is congestion but believe it’s still going to be a good look.

Al Ransom, who manages Kolors Barbershop along Old National, said, “I think it’ll be good for business. I’m for it. If they figure out how to control the traffic and leave this area open for people park, it would be a good thing.”

Hopefully, Ross doesn’t change his plans.

Pig Latin Did Sheff G & Sleepy Hallow In?

I am just a little bit late on this, but I think it’s worth noting. When we talk about rappers, intelligence is not normally the first thing that comes to mind. As you already know, that was not always the case, especially with older rappers. However, in more recent times, we have noticed time and time again, rappers are getting busted for some of the dumbest things ever. I do think we may have a record-breaking moment here.

A part of a 140-count indictment against Sheff G, Sleepy Hallow and 30 other men, the Laws describe exactly how they moved. I do believe they put in great effort, and did their best to avoid getting caught. But that was not enough, within the confines of their range. Apparently, these gentlemen tried to use a form of Pig Latin to show allegiance to their set (8 Trey Crips ), and also an attempt to disguise the crimes they were eventually arrested for. In this form of Pig Latin, they talk about violence, gun possession, and other various criminal activity. I do not know why they thought they would get away with it speaking freaking Pig Latin, but they were busted pretty effortlessly.

Here is what the NYPD Gang Unit said:

“Defendants and other members of the 8 Trey Crips and 9 Ways gang also used a distinct form of pig Latin to show gang allegiance and to attempt to disguise their discussions of acts of violence, gun possession and other gang business. In this version of pig Latin, the first letters or two of a word is removed from its beginning and moved to the end of the word, followed by the phrase ‘oggada,’ ‘aggada,’ or ‘ay.’ For example, ‘shot’ becomes ‘otshay’ or ‘otshaggada’ and ‘chop’ meaning firearm becomes ‘opchay’ or ‘opchaggada.'”

OMG, what made them this would work?

By the way, Sleepy Hallow has proclaimed his innocence. I hope they are!

Saucy Santana Tells NLE Choppa To Take His Thirst Traps To OnlyFans—But People Don’t Get It

NLE Choppa posted several photos of himself wearing nothing but a towel covering his nether regions to his Instagram account on Friday (May 19). Saucy Santana was one of the thousands who saw the suggestive photos and begged him to take that kind of content to OnlyFans. He wrote, “NLE plz!!! OK! Take it to OF! I’m aggravated.” Even Big Sean tossed a “pause” emoji in there as if to tell him to stop.

But problems arose when people misinterpreted Saucy Santana’s post and concluded he was flirting with Choppa. Some people were smart enough to understand what Saucy Santana meant and came to his defense.

One person wrote, “Why is everyone misinterpreting Santana comment ?? he is clearly NOT flirting with him & stating he should take these kind of pictures to only fans, not Instagram because he doesn’t want to see.” Another added, “This man said take it to Only Fans y’all Superrrrrrr Slowwwwwww. I wonder if people even graduate anymore.”

There’s a sense NLE Choppa is getting on his fans’ nerves, too. The comment section of his post is lit up with people demanding he put some clothes on. One asked, “Bro do you know you got male followers?” Another said, “Not again,” suggesting this has happened one too many times.

Madame Tussauds Unveils Two Megan Thee Stallion Wax Figures

Madame Tussauds Las Vegas and Madame Tussauds New York present two new wax figures of Hip Hop star Megan Thee Stallion.

The tourist attraction museum unveiled the figures at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas on an interactive set featuring a metallic 10-foot stallion. Megan Thee Stallion’s Good News album era inspired the waxworks’ outfits. 

Good News dropped in November 2020 via 1501 Certified Entertainment/300 Entertainment. The Grammy winner’s discography also contains projects such as 2019’s Fever, 2020’s Suga, 2021’s Something for Thee Hotties, and 2022’s Traumazine.

“I feel like people always ask me when was the moment you knew you were famous? This is the moment!” said Megan Thee Stallion. “There are two versions of me in the most famous wax museum on the planet. Like, who am I? Them!” 

A team of around twenty artists took six months to recreate Megan Thee Stallion’s likeness for her wax figures. The sculptures will be available to the public at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas on May 20 and at Madame Tussauds New York beginning May 29. 

“We couldn’t have hoped for more ‘Good News’ than the addition of not one but two Megan Thee Stallion wax figures into our Las Vegas and New York attractions,” said Matthew Clarkson, Madame Tussauds Head of Marketing.

Matthew Clarkson continued, “Everybody here at Madame Tussauds loves her music, confidence, style, and star power which serves as an inspiration to so many.” Over the last year, Madame Tussauds also displayed wax figures of other Hip Hop artists like Lil Nas X and Missy Elliott.
