Troy Ave was arrested for attempted murder and illegal weapon possession for a shooting at a T.I. concert at NYC’s Irving Plaza in 2016. Seven years later, he’s finally taking the stand against podcaster/alleged shooter Taxstone. On Monday (March 13), the Brooklyn rapper shared an Instagram post featuring a meme of JAY-Z in court. The text read: “No f### n-ggaz formed against me shall prosper. #FREETROYAVE.”

Troy Ave explained in the caption: “To all my real ones that been riding with & for me, today is the day I finally get to clear my name. It’s been almost 7 years since I lost one of my closest friends #RIPBANGA. 7 years of a narrative about it being my fault, 7 years of my character being assassinated all the while trying to defend myself without saying much! I took it all on the chin, never complained about the stress even tho I felt it. Never complained about the pain even tho it hurt! Never shed a tear even tho my heart was crying!

Troy Ave continued, “At my weakest points I drew strength from GOD! Drew strength from my children & drew strength from y’all‼️ But today … ya boi is strong! Today is our day! We in court & the facts will speak louder than any words! It’s time to get this false narrative off my name and dark cloud off my head.

“To all my supporters today is the day you can tell whoever went against Us ‘eat a D! I told you so.’ Let’s continue to spread love and destroy hate! Whether u sending prayers or pulling up to the court today with positive energy, I dead ass appreciate it all! #FREETROYAVE #SelfDefense.”

The shooting incident saw four people shot, one fatally. The victim, Ronald McPhatter, was Troy Ave’s bodyguard. Troy Ave was initially taken to NYU Langone Medical Center and then transferred to nearby NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue where he was arrested as a primary suspect.

Troy Ave pleaded not guilty, claiming self-defense. He say he and McPhatter were shot by an unnamed assailant. Meanwhile, Taxstone remained in jail. After hearing of Troy Ave’s plan to testify last week, Taxstone tweeted, “Can’t wait for this delusional lying ass bozo to testify on Monday!!” Stay tuned for updates.

Controversial couple Chrisean Rock and Blueface took to social media late Sunday night to publicly share their love-hate relationship (again).

Some of the comments that caught people’s attention came from the “Thotiana” rapper, himself.

“Have you ever noticed when you treat b###### like s### they act right an when you to nice to em they take advantage,” he started off, before complaining that he didn’t get anything for his birthday in January.

“Perfect timing lol b#### ain’t do none for my c day since females love equality….me too ass b#### it’s cool when I do it it’s a problem when I do it ass b#### stand on it when it’s yo turn,” he tweeted.

The rapper launched into a rap about sexual politics, “I don’t deal with me too typa b###### good lol if you f### a thousand n##### you a Hoe if I f### a thousand B###### ima player it’s not the same those females who don’t accept an understand the double standard will be left lonely on the best holidays I promise it’s a difference.”

Adding, “I can be a man to a women I can’t be a man to no women that think they can do what men can do an it’s equal.”

Then Blueface dropped the bomb saying his on-again-off-again girlfriend is pregnant and threatened to leave her while she is with his child because of her actions.

“She pregnant missing a tooth with 7 tattoos finna make a fool of herself with the next n#### an I’m not pregnant at all finna live my life perfectly fine with the next b#### who gone take me even more serious now it’s really tragic fr,” he tweeted.

Chrisean clapped back and tweeted, “I take you serious. You just hate me rn . I don’t need the next N#### I got my self .”

“Ion regret anything about my self so honestly trynna put me down is a low blow coming from a man that know he loves me,” she continued.

“N#### don’t care about how no boof b#### feel lmao take that take that 😂” the West Coast chart-topper posted.

“I don’t feel anything I’m just watching u,” she stated.

Chrisean, started responding to him, “I’m not mad at him or bout whatever I’m grateful you loved me this far. N I’ll never stop loving you. You so angry u can just fight with yo self get all dat off ya chest.”

The Baltimore native says she blames herself, “Don’t feel bad for me ima shake dis off fr. Plus I’m grown I did this to my self.”

Jim Jones said Drake’s unparalleled hit-making record makes him the greatest rapper of all time. 

The Harlem native is the latest artist to weigh in on the debate following Billboard/Vibe‘s recent G.O.A.T. rapper list.  

“I would say he’s the greatest of all time,” Jim Jones declared of Drake during an interview with Complex. “There’s a lot of people from the beginning and people that invented hip hop, I know… the relevancy that he keeps showing year after year, hit after hit, record after record. Any song that he has put out has seemed to go multiple platinum. That’s never happened before in history.”  

 He added, “I just got to give credit where credit is due, and [I’m] not taking away from nobody else.” 

Jim Jones also recognized Hov’s “astronomical,” achievements in music. However, according to the Dipset member, Jay-Z has moved on from music, whereas Drake is thriving. 

“What [JAY-Z] has done to this game is astronomical. He’s like Michael Jordan for what he has put on and what he has done since he came in the game and where he’s at right now,” he explained. “But JAY exited music a long time ago. And that space, that void, I don’t know if it’s a void, but Drake has not exited, and he’s still going strong to this day, and it doesn’t seem like he’s stopping no time soon.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Jim Jones reflected on the love Drake showed The Diplomats when he brought them on stage while performing at the iconic Apollo Theater earlier this year.  

“Drake has a lot of respect for [us] coming up listening to Dipset music,” he explained. “So, it just was a full circle [moment], you know what I mean? It was dope. He gave us our flowers that a lot of people don’t give us — that we deserve.”
