George Floyd’s Brother Says He Is Pausing His Lawsuit Against Kanye West

The brother of George Floyd has decided to fall back on this threat to sue Kanye West for his comments about the deceased Minneapolis man. It seems the lawsuit is on pause because Ye appears to have respected the wishes of the Floyd family.

According to TMZ, Lee Merritt, who is representing Philonise Floyd, said his client is falling back on the artist because he has complied with the request of the cease-and-desist letter they issued after his controversial “Drink Champs” interview.

As reported by AllHipHop.com, during the interview, West incorrectly stated that George Floyd died from taking fentanyl.

“I watched the George Floyd documentary that Candace Owens put out… They hit him with the fentanyl. If you look, the guy’s knee wasn’t even on his neck like that,” Yeezy said. “When he said ‘Mama,’ Mama is his girlfriend. They said he screamed for his Mama … Mama was his girlfriend. It is in the documentary.”

He was referring to the documentary “Greatest Lie Ever Sold: George Floyd and the Rise of BLM.” The documentary was made by Owens, a controversial conservative commentator, and vocal “Black Lives Matter” critic.

After saying this, Merritt tweeted, “While one cannot defame the dead, the family of #GeorgeFloyd is considering suit for Kanye’s false statements about the manner of his death.”

“Claiming Floyd died from fentanyl, not the brutality established criminally and civilly undermines & diminishes the Floyd family’s fight.”

While Floyd’s brother is falling back, Roxie Washington, the mother of Gianna Floyd, filed a $250 million defamation lawsuit against the billionaire entertainer on behalf of her daughter on Tuesday, October 18th.

The Witherspoon Law Group and Dixon & Dixon Attorneys at Law issued a cease-and-desist letter to West on behalf of Floyd’s daughter and her mother, asserting that Ye blatantly misrepresented “the facts regarding the level that the deadly drug played in Floyd’s 2020 death at the hands of a Minnesota police officer, sparking international outrage and protests against police brutality,” Atlanta Black Star reports.

The letter also stated, “[West and his attorneys], employees, agents, partners, associates, and representatives refrain from publishing or causing to be published any other audio, video, statement, post, etc. regarding George Floyd, his estate, his family, and the circumstances surrounding his death, including but not limited to his manner of death.”

The attorneys also addressed the thought that Kanye West has the right to free speech, guaranteed under the constitution.

“Free Speech Rights do not include harassment, lies, misrepresentation, and the misappropriation of George Floyd’s legacy. Some words have consequences and Mr. West will be made to understand that,” said attorney Kay Harper Williams.

According to the complaint, his “false statements about George Floyd’s death to promote his brands, and increase marketing value and revenue for himself, his business partners, and associates,” were made without any care for Gianna, and now the clips are viral.

Attorney Nuru Witherspoon said in a statement, “The interests of the child are priority. George Floyd’s daughter is being traumatized by Kanye West’s comments and he’s creating an unsafe and unhealthy environment for her.”

Antisemitic Tweets Prompt Jewish Educator To Resign From Kanye’s Donda Academy

Vogue. CAA. Balenciaga. JP Morgan. Adidas. Gap. His divorce lawyers. Justin Bieber. This is just a short list of the people who have denounced their association with Kanye West.

Now, one more name will be added to the list and will hit him more in his heart than his pocket.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Dr. Tamar Andrews, an educator who has worked with Donda Academy since the summer of 2022, has officially resigned.

Andrews was one of the voices that spoke out on the NDA policy that students at Donda and their parents have to sign to attend the $15,000-a-year private school.

She then said to Rolling Stone, “Honestly, we don’t care if people know about the school. The people that want to come to the school are looking for a good Christian school in that area and they know that we’re there … there is also a certain notoriety that comes with being affiliated with Donda. So, I don’t know that we have to advertise, which is a blessing and a curse.”

Dr. Andrew’s tune changed when he attacked her faith.

She left her post in early October and has accepted a job as the director of early childhood education at both Temple Isaiah and American Jewish University.

Both institutions have listed her on their websites as an employee.

The President of Temple Isaiah of Los Angeles, Allison Samek, shared in a statement: “Dr. Andrews immediately resigned from Donda Academy following Ye West’s tweet. Her last day was October 11th, 2022, as she felt she could no longer support the organization.”

Another person close to West who condemned his antisemitic language is his former wife, Kim Kardashian, who is currently in a legal struggle regarding the finances and custody of their four children.

In her statement, she said, “I stand together with the Jewish community and call on the terrible violence and hateful rhetoric towards them to come to an immediate end.”

Ashanti Says Irv Gotti Is A Liar, Has Feminine Qualities And Compares Him To Vomit

R&B Singer Ashanti has finally spoken out about her professional and personal relationship with music executive and producer Irv Gotti, breaking her silence on the Angie Martinez “IRL” podcast.

One of the most surprising statements was that she has “regrets” about “trusting people.”

“It’s crazy because you’re not supposed to have regrets. I used to say I don’t, but I do,” she confessed.

Ashanti said some of those regrets came from “having faith in people and sometimes trusting people,” the Grammy Award-winner shared, subliminally referencing Irv Gotti, the man responsible for Def Jam signing Jay-Z, DMX, Ja Rule and putting her on.

“I regret holding certain people to a certain standard,” the Princess of Murder Inc. said. “And just knowing that eventually I got let down really bad.”

Ashanti, once voted one of the top 25 Sexiest Women in Entertainment according to E! magazine, told Angie Martinez that she has grown and learned to be better so that she is not hurt that way again.

When the Hip-Hop radio vet asked Ashanti about Irv’s portrayal of her association with him and the brand and how she felt, Ashanti was candid and called Irv a “liar.”

She shared that for the documentary, the people involved “definitely reached out” to her. But she declined, revealing she only watched a little bit of two episodes (the first and the third).

She said, “For the record, I love Murder Inc.,” dispelling one myth Irv has said. Ashanti noted on the podcast that Irv’s comments were not “surprising” to her because she always knew he was like this, and now the world gets to see him.

“I feel like Irv is mentally not in a good place,” Ashanti said before making it clear that she is not ever trying to disrespect anybody.

She also said she sees that he is “hurt” in this process. According to Ashanti, the difference is that he is a “million percent” trying to ruin and hurt her.

The singer said she believes that Irv has finally realized that he can no longer “manipulate or control” her, and he just had to let go of all that he was once holding on to. She likened his release to vomit.

The chart-topper said, “It looks nasty. It smells nasty. And that’s the reflection of the person that you are.”

She continued saying, “When someone is in pain, they kind of act out of character. You know, and I see a lot of feminine qualities [in him].

When addressing their relationship, she said, “Irv definitely has his side and his version,” where he manifested this relationship into something big, and it really was not.

“Irv has flat out lied about a lot of things,” she declared. “The crazy thing is … when we were in a good space [we talked]. Pillow talk is a dangerous thing. There are so many things that I know and there’s so many things that for a long time and probably forever I don’t have the desire to expose.”

“I’m happy. I’m in a different space, and I feel like I operate at a very different vibration than him. I don’t play in the mud. I let that sit down there and I’m over here,” she explained.

Former FaZe Clan Member Co-Founded Lil Durk’s OTF Gaming

The former FaZe Clan member continues, “The Trenches Server will host regular events and integrate them with both endemic and non-endemic brands in the gaming space to showcase them and have our players engage with their brands/products. This includes digital music festivals and a lot more.”

Lil Durk has been releasing music professionally for over seven years. His most recent studio LP, 7220, came out in March 2022. 7220 became Durk’s first solo #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Previously, he topped the Billboard 200 with The Voice of the Heroes collaborative project alongside Lil Baby.

DaBaby Reacts To DJ Akademiks Accusing Ebro Of Blackballing Him

Baby on Baby 2 by DaBaby did not achieve the level of commercial success as the rapper’s previous projects. Outspoken blogger DJ Akademiks essentially blamed Hot 97/Apple Music personality Ebro Darden for DaBaby’s low album sales.

“DaBaby’s last project in 2020, Blame it on Baby, sold 124K first week. His new project after being blackballed by Ebro, Apple Music is scheduled to do less than 20K,” tweeted DJ Akademiks.

Ebro repeatedly denied being involved in a conspiracy to bring down DaBaby. The 47-year-old host of the Ebro in the Morning radio show also presented his own conspiratorial accusations about Akademiks.

During a Baller Alert interview, Ebro asked, “Why is [Akademiks] so concerned about NBA YoungBoy, DaBaby, Tory Lanez, and Tekashi 6ix9ine? Why those four? Why? Out of all the artists. So he’s got an agenda. Or he’s on somebody’s payroll. Or both.”

Hot 97 Hosts Talk To DaBaby About Blackballing Allegations

DaBaby stopped by the Hot 97 radio station in New York City this week. Ebro Darden and co-host Peter Rosenberg brought up DJ Akademiks’s blackballing allegations. DaBaby then shared his thoughts on the formerly trending topic.

“When I saw all that s### going on, I’m like, ‘Man, look at this s###,'” said DaBaby. The “Rockstar” performer added, “Ebro responded to [DJ Akademiks] like he feels like I’m over there sitting in the room with him having a conversation with him.”

DaBaby also stated, “That’s how [Ebro] responded to the s### like he thinks I’m in cahoots with the s###. I’m sitting back, I’m coolin’. I’m embracing the journey… Even when I saw it and see names included, I’m like, ‘Oh yeah, he’s definitely gonna say something back.’ But I’m just like, ‘I’m gonna stay out the way.'”

Baby On Baby 2 peaked at #34 on the Billboard 200. DaBaby’s fourth studio LP only spent one week on the chart. His latest full-length body of work arrived after the North Carolinian lost several festival gigs over his widely perceived homophobic comments at Rolling Loud Miami in July 2021.

Tory Lanez Believes Iggy Azalea’s Comeback Can Be As Big As Her “Fancy” Era

Eight years ago, Iggy Azalea was one of the hottest acts in music thanks to her global smash “Fancy” featuring British singer Charli XCX.

“Fancy” remained at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 7 weeks and received an 8x-Platinum plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America. However, Azalea has not returned to the Hot 100 since 2019.

Iggy Azalea’s 2021 studio LP, The End of an Era, failed to make it onto the Billboard 200 chart. The deluxe version of the album featured Bia, Sophia Scott, Ellise, Alice Chater, and Tyga.

Tory Lanez announced he will executive produce Azalea’s next project. The rapper/singer tweeted, “I’ve been wanting to EP a FEMALE ARTIST’s ALBUM for a while… I want to RAISE THE BAR… On the BEATS, PRODUCTION & OVERALL EXPERIENCE of FEMALE ALBUMS… this is going to be fun 🔥🔥.”

Tory Lanez Says He’s Been Working With Iggy Azalea For More Than Two Months

TMZ recently caught up with Tory Lanez. During the outdoor interview at Los Angeles International Airport, the Canadian recording artist spoke about what Iggy Azalea supposedly has coming in the future.

“We’ve been working on it for like a solid two and a half months. Then she went on tour, so we’re about to get back to it now,” said Tory Lanez about Azalea’s forthcoming comeback album.

The cameraman also asked Lanez if he believes Iggy Azalea will be able to achieve the commercial success of her “Fancy” era. At that time, the Australia-born rhymer also scored a Top 5 entry with “Black Widow” featuring Rita Ora.

Lanez responded, “Of course, you gotta think about it. This is somebody who went Diamond before. It’s certain accomplishments you can’t take away from somebody. One thing I know about her is she has an incredible fan base.”

Some Fans Do Not Support Iggy Working With Tory After The Megan Thee Stallion Shooting

Iggy Azalea did face backlash for teaming up with Tory Lanez. Fellow female rapper Megan Thee Stallion accused Lanez (born Daystar Peterson) of shooting her in the feet back in 2020. Some social media users took issue with Azalea joining forces with Lanez who is still awaiting his assault trial to begin in California.

“You’re all very welcome to speak your opinion freely about me… just as long as we all have an understanding: you are having a monologue & not a discussion with me – because (respectfully) my bills remain paid without your two cents.💗🙇‍♀️☺️,” tweeted Iggy Azalea.

Tory Lanez and Iggy Azalea are allegedly dating. Azalea apparently gifted Lanez a cake to celebrate the release of his Sorry 4 What album in September. The two entertainers have not officially confirmed being involved in a romantic relationship.

Steve Lacy Responds To Viral Clip Of Him Throwing A Fan’s Camera

Steve Lacy is having a mainstream breakout year. His “Bad Habit” single peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. That newfound fame comes with more public scrutiny.

This week saw Steve Lacy’s name trending on social media after a video of the singer/songwriter at his October 24 show went viral. A concertgoer inside Orpheum Theater allegedly threw a camera at Lacy while he was performing.

The Gemini Rights album creator reacted to the person’s actions by taking someone in the front row’s camera and throwing it across the stage. According to reports, Lacy then ended the New Orleans concert early by walking off.

As fans and critics on social media debated whether Steve Lacy overreacted, the performer did not engage in the conversation at first. However, the longtime guitarist for the R&B band known as The Internet did eventually issue a response on Instagram.

Latto Addresses FAMU Homecoming Promoter “Sabotaging” Her Reputation

Several HBCUs held their respective homecomings over the last few weeks. Apparently, some Florida A&M University students expected to see Latto at a homecoming concert on September 29.

In response, Latto had to go on social media to inform her fans that she will not be at the FAMU event in Tallahassee, Florida. The “Big Energy” rapper has been touring the country with Lizzo.

“Only addressing this to clear my name. I was never booked for FAMU [homecoming],” read a message posted by Latto. “My team was contacted directly this morning and asked if we could work something out due to the third-party promoter falsely advertising me.”

She added, “ME BEING UNDERSTANDING, I was willing to make it work even though I’m currently on tour. BUT since they brought incorrect info online, sabotaging my reputation, I’m gonna pass on the offer now. I NEVER want to disappoint my fans. I’m sorry to the students, I love yall – thanks for understanding.”

FAMU Student Body Officials Issue A Statement About Latto Situation

Florida A&M University’s Student Government Association also released a statement regarding the Homecoming Concert. According to the SGA, a promotional company called WRLD Entertainment handled the booking for the show.

“On September 14, 2022, WRLD Entertainment communicated that artists, City Girls and Latto, were officially booked for the 2022 FAMU Homecoming Concert and provided wire transfers reflecting so,” read an official letter from the FAMU Study Body President and Vice President.

The letter continued, “Like you, we were extremely disappointed when on Monday, October 25, Latto announced she was not booked for the event; however, WRLD Entertainment denies Latto’s assertions. She has been booked for the event.”

Earlier this week, Latto had to address another story circulating the internet. A Pop Base parody account on Twitter alleged Lil Wayne denied the RCA recording artist’s “Lollipop” sample request, but the Atlanta rapstress insisted that rumor was also false.

Battle Rappers React To BET’s ‘50 Greatest Battle Rappers of All Time’ List

As a community that stands on the importance of documenting its icons correctly, battle rap fans collectively donned their debating hats on Tuesday (Oct. 25) to discuss BET’s “50 Greatest Battle Rappers of All Time” list.

Hip-Hop journalist Justin “The Company Man” Hunte compiled the BET list using a set of criteria that included various accolades and attributes. Among them, “number of classic battles, the strength of opponents, overall skill set, total views, longevity, and impact.” Hunt also considered more artist factors such as “charisma, performance, and imagination.”

However, in a community that thrives on debate, lists can cause controversy and have artists and their supporters up in arms over all aspects of every list. This one was no different, and the battle rap community swiftly argued over the selection. Check out BET’s “Top 50 Battle Rap G.O.A.T.s” at the end of the page.

While list was not ranked, it included many names that would feature on any learned fan’s top. 50. However, who was left out became one of the major talking points.

Battle Rappers Debate The Top 50 Battle Rappers List

St. Louis legend Aye Verb hosted a Twitter Space early on Wednesday morning, attended by a host of the culture’s biggest names while media, supporters, artists and everyone in between debated the list on the timeline.

Despite rarely reaching a consensus on such topics, there was some agreement on a few glaring omissions that left many fans outraged. These included Chicago-based Big T and Harlem’s Ms. Hustle, both of whom made significant contributions to the scene. They joined Verb’s discussion to share their views, as did Justin Hunte.

He listened while being criticized for omitting Hustle and Big T in addition to a few others, including E. Hart, Reed Dollaz, and B Magic. He was also questioned over his choice to feature newer names alongside solidified greats and pioneers.

Justin acknowledged it would be impossible to achieve total consensus but conceded he should have added more honorable mentions. Listen to the recording of the discussion here, check out the list here, and some of the reactions to it below.

Aaron Donald & Jaylen Brown Leave Kanye West’s Donda Sports

Aaron Donald and Jaylen Brown are the two latest stars to terminate their association with Kanye West over his antisemitic remarks, announcing their departure from DONDA Sports less than six months after signing on.

The Los Angeles Rams and Boston Celtics players announced their departure on Tuesday evening (Oc. 26) via social media posts issued just a minute apart. The move follows brands including Adidas, Gap, Balenciaga, and Vogue, also severing ties with Kanye West.

Aaron Donald Severs Ties With Donda Sports

NFL star Aaron Donald issued a joint statement with his wife Erica addressing exit. They cited “recent comments and displays of hate and antisemitism,” although Kanye West was not mentioned by name.

“Our family has made the decision to part ways with Donda Sports,” the statement began. “The recent comments and displays of hate and antisemitism are the exact opposite of how we choose to live our lives and raise our children. We find them to be irresponsible and go against everything we believe in as a family.”

The couple said they felt “a responsibility to send a clear message that hateful words and actions have consequences,” before adding, “we must do better as human beings.”

“We do not feel our beliefs, voices and actions belong anywhere near a space that misrepresents and oppresses people of any background, ethnicity or race.”

Jaylen Brown Withdraws Supports For Kanye West & Donda Sports

Meanwhile, despite his insistence earlier this week that he would support Kanye West, Jaylen Brown followed suit.

“In the past 24 hours, I’ve been able to reflect and better understand how my previous statements lack clarity in expressing my stance against recent insensitive public remarks and actions,’ Brown wrote. “For that, I apologize. And in this, I seek to be as clear as possible.”

He continued, “I have always, and will always, continue to stand strongly against any antisemitism, hate speech, misrepresentation, and oppressive rhetoric of any kind. In light of that, after sharing in conversations, I now recognize that there are times when my voice and my position can’t coexist in spaces that don’t correspond with my stance or my values.”

Brown concluded, “And, for that reason, I am terminating my association with Donda Sports.”

However, the President of Donda Sports is sticking by Ye. Former NFL star Antonio Brown affirmed his support for Kanye on Tuesday. He claimed the rapper’s controversial statements were blown “out of proportion” by the media.

DaBaby Speaks On Controversial Megan Thee Stallion ‘Bogeyman’ Lyrics

DaBaby shocked the Internet last month with the release of new song “Bogeyman,” in which he made some startling revelations about Megan Thee Stallion.

The North Carolina rapper made headlines after dropping his new album, which features a track discussing Megan. DaBaby claimed he slept with the Houston rapper in 2020, adding it happened just before her shooting incident with Tory Lanez.

“You play with me that s### was childish/The day before she said that Tory Lanez shot her, I was f##### on Megan Thee Stallion,” DaBaby rapped.

While the controversy made waves online, DaBaby remained silent before finally addressing the song on Tuesday (Oct. 25), during an interview on Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning

“The song been done for real, for real. Damn near going on a year,” he said. “When I say something, it’s gon’ go out.”

When asked why he revealed their alleged intimate relationship DaBaby said, “It is what it is. I said a long time ago, keep me out the business. It’s a song. It’s out right now. N##### can take it how they want to take it.”

Nonetheless, DaBaby denies doing it to get back at Megan Thee Stallion. The artists fell out after DaBaby collaborated with Tory Lanez in the wake of the shooting incident. He also denied Ebro’s suggestion he’s thriving off the controversy around him. “Nah, it’s just, I can’t duck it,” said DaBaby.

DaBaby also explained changing the lyrics was never an option. “I don’t change lyrics though. It don’t matter what I say,” he added.

Elsewhere in the conversation, he also addressed his viral altercations with his child’s mother, DaniLeigh, and with her brother last year. Watch the interview below.

Rihanna Teases Return This Week With New Song For ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’

A week after the rumors began circulating that Rihanna would make her comeback on the upcoming Black Panther 2 soundtrack, the superstar songstress appears to have confirmed the speculation.

Since announcing her performance at the 2023 Super Bowl HalfTime Show, music fans have been eagerly anticipating a new offering from the singer. The rumor mill went into overdrive last week when word spread Rihanna would appear on the end credits of the Marvel movie.

Ahead of the release Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever, next month, Marvel Studios teased the Wakanda Forever album with a trailer. The short video contained the biggest hint yet that Rihanna is involved. The visual included the soundtrack’s name and release date with an “R,” presumably for Rihanna, prominently displayed. The post was captioned simply with the looking eyes emoji.

Rihanna fans filled the Instagram comments section, sharing their excitement for new music. However, RiRi was among the commenters and offered the strongest confirmation herself. She replied to the trailer with a pair of emojis, the Wakanda Forever emoji alongside a red heart.

The first film in the Black Panther series featured an iconic soundtrack curated by Kendrick Lamar. K. Dot’s Oscar-nominated collaboration “All the Stars” with SZA was among the highlights.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will arrive in theaters on Nov. 11, but Rihanna fans will get their wish sooner. The initial single is due to be released this week, on Friday, Oct. 28.

5 Best Hip-Hop Artists Who Changing The Music Industry

If you want to trace the roots of good old hip-hop, you must travel back to the harlequin era of the 1970s. Only then will you be able to find its beginnings. Hip-hop was slowly becoming a thing at the same time when disco was on the rise, and you don’t need us to tell you that it was fire because you already know it.

An infinite number of top rappers right now have contributed their ability to hip-hop and topped the charts. Still, only a select handful of today’s rappers have achieved the status of hip-hop legends throughout history.

Now we’ll take you on a trip today on the hip-hop trending rappers that changed the course of music history by winning accolades, shattering radio records, selling out stadiums, or dominating nightclubs.

  1. Drake

Who has had the most influence on rap? Drake’s dominance in the hip-hop world is not doubted. He has several No. 1 albums to his credit, outselling legendary musicians like Eminem, Tupac, and Jay-Z in terms of album sales. Drake’s ascent to fame began when he was just 14 years old. The Canadian adolescent drama Degrassi cast the unlikely rapper as Jimmy Brooks, a popular eighth-grader and basketball player, in 2001.

He played the part for eight seasons until leaving the program in 2008. Due to the success of its main track, “Best I Ever Had,” was nominated for two Grammy Awards: Best Rap Solo Performance and Best Rap Song. He became one of the most trending rappers of the age because of the success of his albums like Thank Me Later, Take Care, and If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late, which broke Spotify’s streaming records and sold like hotcakes.

  1. 21 Savage

Rapper 21 Savage, aka Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, born on October 22, 1992, is located in Atlanta, Georgia. After many mixtape releases, 21 Savage could immediately show off his ability. People were instantly drawn to his work after seeing his brilliance. In 2016, it was clear that his efforts had paid off when his EP Savage Mode debuted in the Billboard Top 200. He was a member of the 2016 XXL Freshman class.

He had three songs with double platinum sales, two projects with gold certification, and a hit single. Even though Savage has attempted to cope with popularity by reducing his social media use, his silent intensity, prior street stories, and the enormous, crucifix-like dagger tattooed between his eyes have given him a certain notoriety among the general public. He is indeed one of the top rappers right now.

  1. Missy Elliott

Male rappers dominated hip-hop by the 1990s. Rappers like MC Sha-Rock and Lil’ Kim paved the way for women in hip-hop culture, but Missy Elliott showed they belonged there too. With her first album, Supa Dupa Fly, which peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 and was the highest-charting debut for a female rapper, she embarked on her career path in 1997.

She has over 30 million album sales in the US and four Grammy awards. She now holds the record for most albums sold by a female rapper in Nielsen Music history. Trending rappers like Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, and other female rappers have benefited from Elliott’s pioneering work.

  1. Grandmaster Flash

Grandmaster Flash is credited with helping pioneer hip-hop DJing. While Grandmaster Flash was perfecting the scratching technique invented by Grand Wizzard Theodore, Grandmaster Flash also developed the backspin technique and the punch phrasing. 1978 saw the birth of his band, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, which had its beginnings in the South Bronx. Melle Mel, The Kidd Creole, Keef Cowboy, Scorpio, and Rahiem were all members of this collective.

The hip-hop band started performing at house parties in the neighborhood, eventually moving on to playing in venues and further afield. They inked a deal with Sugar Hill Records two years after the band’s formation. After that, the band released an album called “The Message,” which became a commercial hit due to its political and social commentary. You can check VPN reviews if suddenly this album isn’t available for your listening.

Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five are widely regarded as one of the most influential groups in hip-hop history. They were the first hip-hop group to win the distinction and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.

  1. Young Thug

One of the top rappers right now, Young Thug, has been criticized for straying from conventional rap lyrics and sometimes having clear meaning. The rapper is popular with his many productions, which include Barter 6, Rich Gang: Tha Tour Pt. 1, 1017 Thug, Slime Season 2, and Beautiful Thugger Girls.

He collaborated with J. Cole and Travis Scott on the song “The London,” which he released in 2019 as he was ready to release his first album, So Much Fun, on the rapper’s birthday, August 16. It became Young Thug’s first US number-one album with its top-of-the-chart debut on the Billboard 200. In 2020, he planned to complete a follow-up project.

Antonio Brown Defends Kanye West As NFL & NBA Stars Leave DONDA Sports

Antonio Brown has affirmed his commitment to Kanye West and his sports marketing agency DONDA Sports, as companies, brands, and individuals are severing ties with the rapper in their droves over his antisemitic comments.

The former NFL star, who joined DONDA Sports as president in February, issued a statement shortly after Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown and Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald announced they terminated their association with the agency.

On Tuesday evening (Oct. 25), Antonio Brown took to social media to voice his support for Kanye West.

“Over the past few weeks the world’s reactionary and selective outrage at comments in the media made by my brother, Ye, have inflamed and sparked rampant conversation and reflection. I too have been able to reflect on statements that I and others in my circle have made that lack clarity in expressing my stance. The people and brands that have relentlessly profited from Black ideas and Black culture chose to distance themselves at a very specific time: a time that demonstrated their prioritization of certain groups over others,” Antonio Brown said.

“None of us in this world are free of judgment, yet we live in a time where scrutiny and pessimism have driven our dialogues on cultural issues toward diatribes. Sensationalism and groupthink have forced people to not speak their minds and act out in fear rather than love. For these reasons, I stand by my dedication to freedom of speech, thought, and opinion. I actively seek to coexist in places where I may have a difference of opinion because it’s diversity in thought that pushes humanity forward.”

He concluded, “I remain in support of the humanity that is Ye.”

Adidas Severs Ties With Kanye West

Meanwhile, earlier on Monday, Adidas announced it severed all ties with Kanye West. The company cited Ye’s “unacceptable, hateful and dangerous” recent comments and actions. According to Forbes, Ye’s net worth dropped to $400 million as a result of Adidas’ decision.

Additionally, Gap is removing all Yeezy Gap products from their stores, although the partnership with Ye ended in September. “Antisemitism, racism and hate in any form are inexcusable and not tolerated in accordance with our values,” Gap said in a statement.

Why Dirty Bastard is the Hottest Independent Artist Right Now

Hip-hop music has evolved into one of the world’s prominent music genres and cultural influences, with many borrowing from the industry. But it’s impossible to talk about this growth without mentioning the legendary hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan. Wu-Tang transformed the hip-hop space, fusing raw sounds, grimy beats, and martial art themes to create a new vibe. Young Dirty Bastard now continues this legacy.

Bar-Sun Unique Jones, popularly known by his stage name, Young Dirty Bastard, borrows from the Wu-Tang Clan. His unique music style has allowed him to break into the industry as an independent artist, with many praising his sound. Young Dirty Bastard’s release continues to trend as a masterpiece, as he combines the 90s with contemporary sounds. His music is a bit laid back and speaks to the young and older generation who loved Wu-Tang.

Young Dirty Bastard is the son of the legendary OI’ Dirty Bastard, the nephew of RZA and cousin to GZA. His background has helped him create timeless rap perfect for a sing-along, and on many fronts, he continues to inspire and encourage his audience.

Young Dirty Bastard developed a passion for music at a young age. He often accompanied his dad and RZA to the studio and practice sessions; this unknowingly contributed to inspiring him to start his journey in the industry. In his early years in the music scene, Young Dirty Bastard was under Wu Music Group by Wu-Tang Clan.

He began his music career by releasing mixtapes. The experience working under Wu Music helped Young Dirty Bastard learn more about rap and music in general as he watched his dad, uncle, and cousin.

Young Dirty Bastard has performed live with the Wu-Tang Clan and recorded songs under the guidance of RZA. He has also worked with Ghostface Killah. Occasionally, Ghostface has been featured on Young Dirty Bastard’s mixtape, A Dirty Tomorrow.

Young Dirty Bastard continues his father’s legacy, creating music that speaks to the heart and soul. On this note, Young Dirty Bastard has created several mixtapes which have attracted massive attention. In addition, Young Dirty Bastard has been featured on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Good Morning America, Jimmy Kimmel Live, NPR Tiny Desk, and Hot 97 Summer Jam. His mixtape, Block 1, is one of the top mixtapes. Block 1 comprises ten songs, including “Dirty City,” “Dirty Diana,” “Eastside,” and “Purple Snow.”

Young Dirty Bastard currently works on his album, Brooklyn’s My Blood Type; the album is slated to be released on 2/2/2023 and will comprise 14 songs. He already has some songs from the album released. He works tirelessly to put out about eight pieces before the official album launch date. The first single of Brooklyn’s My Blood Type is “Bar Sun,” which was released late last month.

Young Dirty Bastard also has an upcoming NFT music marketplace, Dynasty. Additionally, young Dirty Bastard is building a ‘Musicverse,’ a decentralized record label for artists that allows artists and fans to transact directly. Finally, the young artist recently wrapped a 25-city tour titled “N.Y. State of Mind” with Nas, Wu Tang-Clan, and Busta Rhymes.”

Kanye West’s Engineer Donates To ADL, NAACP & More After ‘Ye Controversy

Kanye West’s longtime engineer Andrew Dawson announced donations to multiple organizations in wake of the controversial rapper’s antisemitism and claims about George Floyd.

The engineer revealed he’s donating money from his royalties to the Anti-Defamation League, the NAACP and others in an Instagram post on Tuesday (October 25). Andrew Dawson didn’t mention Kanye West by name but referenced “recent events” as the reason for the donations.

“I have a resume I am proud of that represents decades of supporting the voices, visions and creativity of talented artists,” he wrote. “However, recent events compel me to be a supporter of more important voices at this time.”

He continued, “To support those voices, I will be making donations from my royalties to the ADL, NAACP, as well as Jewish and Civil Rights organizations. Two donations have already been made.”

Andrew Dawson began working with Kanye West on The College Dropout album, which dropped in 2004. The veteran engineer’s other collaborators include Tyler, The Creator and Childish Gambino.

Several businesses severed ties with Kanye West due to his rash of antisemitic remarks. George Floyd’s family also sued ‘Ye for spreading a conspiracy theory about the police brutality victim’s death in a Drink Champs interview.
