“The priest situation. That was the hardest thing to talk about because I had written about it but I had never publicly talked about it,” said Bobby Brown. “It was something that I didn’t know was that big a weight on me, that was really bothering me.”
The 53-year-old Boston native continued, “I didn’t know it was bothering me to the point where I couldn’t stop drinking, I couldn’t stop beating myself up. So getting it out, it really took a toll on me.”
Additionally, Tamron Hall and Bobby Brown spoke about the singer preparing himself to talk about the deaths of his family members on Biography. He lost his ex-wife Whitney Houston, daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, and son Bobby Brown Jr. over the last ten years.
“A lot of therapy. I talked to my therapists a lot, at least twice a week. I think I was on the phone or Zoom a little bit more than twice a week getting ready to talk about it,” stated Brown.
He added, “I really had no fear because it was therapeutic for me. It was something that needed to come out. It was something that needed to be lifted from me, you know? I bottled so many things down, so many feelings down that it started to bother me but with prayer, therapy, anything is possible.”
A&E is also running a 12-episode docuseriestitled Bobby Brown: Every Little Step. The show premiered on May 31. Brown’s current wife, Alicia Etheredge-Brown, and their children appear on the program.
Stefflon Don just dropped another banger linking up with Jamaican Dancehall artist Masicka, taken from his 2021 project 438, “Moments.”
The pair both put on a sensual show with suggestive and explicit lyrics. The Jamaican-British singer looks sensational as she croons in patois during her verse. Check it out below.
Stefflon Don recently shared her sorrow following the death of former collaborator Punjabi rapper turned Politician Sidhu Moose Wala. He was shot and killed in India on May 29.
She later took to Twitter to reflect on her future and her desire to pay it forward.
“I thank God every day for making me the woman I am,” she wrote. “All I do is work, take care of my family, keep it real with anyone that comes my way and give back to people in need. My true dream is to help as many people as I can before my time is up.”
Last month, Stefflon Don announced a new song and alluded to it being a diss at ex-boyfriend Nigerian artist Burna Boy. Many thought the self-styled African Giant’s latest single, “Last Last,” was directed at Stefflon Don and that she was returning fire.
“First of all,’” she penned, noting the song’s title before adding, “my side of the story.”
This is you guys 😭 I hope yall got yall popcorn ready. Dem dead
“So I just wanted to gather everybody here today to say it is now time to mind your business,” she said in the song’s intro.
However, while the TikTok reaction videos remain up, the London rapper’s version was met with copyright restrictions. The track has since been removed from YouTube due to a copyright claim by Universal Music Group; the publisher of Burna Boy’s music.
Azealia Banks is making the most of her Twitter platform following numerous suspensions after returning once Elon Musk took over the micro-blogging site earlier this year.
She took to Twitter on Tuesday (Jun. 7) to discuss Cardi B, branding her an industry plant. However, she gave Cardi her flowers, showing some love first and later suggesting it was a compliment.
“Yo Bodak Yellow is really still a TOP TIER female rap record,” Azealia Banks wrote. “It’s so f###### NEW YORK.”
“it’s one of the best female rap records of all time,” she added. And conceited by Remy Ma , no matter what they say by lil kim.”
When a fan questioned her motivations, pointing out she has “dragged” Cardi for years, Azealia clapped back.
“It’s mad funny how fans be thinking they know what goes on behind the scenes. Or think artists care about what y’all think about industry we work in. I’ve always thought bodak yellow was fire. Plus cardi b’s personal, mental and cultural glow up is solid,” she added.
Nonetheless, when another fan pointed out she’s “basically calling cardi an industry plant,” Azealia Banks agreed.
“She was an industry plant lmao,” she replied. “But sis took advantage of the opportunity and rode that b#### the f### out, assembled the right team, seized the moment and made herself a cultural mainstay. U have to respect it.”
“It’s one of the best female rap records of all time,” Azealia Banks said of Cardi’s breakthrough hit. “And conceited by Remy Ma , no matter what they say by lil kim.”
Azealia Banks Drags Iggy Azalea
Yet another fan challenged the outspoken rapper suggesting she is being hypocritical, when it comes to her opinion of Iggy Azalea.
“Sis really was supposed to use T.I for whatever he was worth,” she began. “Drop the blaccent – give fancy and a slew of other kesha type joints, then give fashion mogul Victoria Beckham K###. But she’s giving the single mom thing she really thought whiteness would shield her from.”
Despite taking a vow of celibacy last year, Nick Cannon says to expect more babies from him this year than ever before.
The Masked Singer host made some startling admissions during a recent appearance. He joined Angela Yee on the Lip Service podcast and alluded to the arrival of several more additions to his growing brood of 8 children, with another on the way.
Nick Cannons Says Wait Until 2022!
When Angela asked if there’s any truth to rumors that he has three more children on the way, Nick Cannon laughed. “When you say on the way,” he replied. “Well yea, the stork is on the way,” Nick added. “If you thought the numbers I put in 2021 were bad, wait til [2022],” he declared.
In 2001, Nick Cannon welcomed three children with two different women just months apart. He tragically lost his son Zen in December to a brain tumor shortly after birth. He also began a celibacy journey after his therapist recommended it. However, he says that while he tried his best to stick to it, he fell into a depression following the loss of his son.
“I was supposed to make it to the top of the year,” Nick Cannon explained. “I got depressed with the loss of my son and stuff so in December … everybody saw I was so down so everybody was like ‘imma just give him a little v#####’”
He then added, “I fell victim to it cause I was in a weak state. Right before Christmas I started f###### like crazy.”
The hosts then began doing the math and speculated that October could be a bumper month for the entertainer. “Y’all are pretty good at math,” Nick Cannon said while nodding his head in agreement. Watch a snippet and check out the whole episode below.
The Game opened up about his relationship with Kim Kardashian after claiming the pair dated before her marriage to Kanye West.
The West Coast rapper also spoke on how he and Ye addressed the issue during a new interview with Complex.
“Anytime I’ve ever needed Ye, he’s always been there for me,” The Game explained to Chris “Speedy” Morman. “And this is after I’ve disrespected, you know, his marriage at times by saying what me and Kim used to be and all of this stuff.”
Back in 2019, The Game rapped, “I should apologize cause Ye my folks, n####” on a song titled ‘Kim Kardashian*” In it, he explicitly rapped about having sex with the famous reality T.V. star and entrepreneur. He also later rapped about making Kylie Jenner “Frosted Flakes” when she woke up.
The Game says he used to make Kylie Jenner “Frosted Flakes” when she woke up. 💀💀💀💀. pic.twitter.com/1Bp1aI2eVH
Nonetheless, The Game says Kanye never let it come between them and was good-natured about it. “Even Ye would joke about it,” Game said. “I sit with Ye, and he’s like, ‘oh s###. Well damn, you f##### with Kim first,’ and I’ll be like, ‘n#### we in a room for of people’,” he said.
When asked “Is that awkward for you when that happens?” The Game recalled it was initially. “The first time, the first two times, it was kind of awkward,” he said. However, “now it’s just like Ye being honest and it’s all good,” he added.
The Game then explained there’s a high likelihood of encountering people in the industry with similar dating histories.
“Everybody that you date, if you go outside and meet a girl today, she has a history,” The Game said. “She dated somebody. If I seen you with a girl I used to date, the next time I see you, I be like, ‘Yo, Speedy, she like it from the side.’ You feel me? I want to make sure it’s good, that you last in there, you know what I’m sayin’?”
“My brother could date a girl that I used to be with and I would be just fine with it,” he added.
Lil Nas X vented online last week after he was snubbed by the BET awards, receiving no nominations for the second year in a row.
Now, the Industry Baby artist has taken his beef with the awards show a step further, dropping a fresh diss track. Lil Nas refused to take any subliminal shots and let his feelings be known in the caption.
“F### BET! F### BET! 🤧” wrote LIL Nas X, sharing a snippet of the track on Twitter.
He further explained his frustrations in the responses to the song. “This not over no bet award,” Lil Nas X told one fan. “This is about the bigger problem of homophobia in the black community, y’all can sit and pretend all u want but imma risk it all for us.”
When another asked, “why are you acting like this?” despite having “a whole Grammy,” Lil Nas X said this illustrates his point. “How can i get acknowledged by the most acclaimed award show in the world and then not even just 1 nomination from my own people?” he asked. “Is that not crazy? am i really tripping?”
He also noted, “Industry baby is the 2nd longest running #1 song on the billboard rap charts of all time and didn’t get a single nomination.”
BET Responds To Lil Nas X
However, someone at BET caught wind of the diss track and reached out to TMZ to make clear, it’s all love on their end.
“We love Lil Nas X,” the statement began. “He was nominated for a Best New Artist BET Award in 2020,” they said.
“We proudly showcased his extraordinary talent and creativity on the show twice: he performed “Old Town Road” with Billy Ray Cyrus at “BET Awards” 2019 and his “BET Awards” 2021 performance was a highlight of our show. No one cheered louder that night than BET.”
Furthermore, “No one from BET serves as a member of the Voting Academy,” who is responsible for selecting the nominations.
They concluded, “At BET, we are passionate advocates for the wonderful diversity that exists within our community.”
They also affirmed their commitment” to provide visibility and inclusion for all of the many intersections of the Black community.”
Ghost writers have always been Hip-Hop‘s dirty little secret. It’s the biggest secret it’s not a secret.
In 2022, we tend to frown upon ghost writers, but also except that they are a part of the creative process for quite a few. The further along we go, the more we realize that they are indelibly entrenched within the process creatively.
But, there are some artists that are revered for their pen game and having a ghost writer is completely unacceptable. That said, there are also those that are perpetrating frauds and pretending to be writing their own rhymes. And they are not! I am not going to snitch or drop dime, but I will tell you this: somebody is faking jacks.
Stop faking jacks and start jumping jacks!
A popular emcee from the 90s, is using ghost writers heavily. I am not one to say exactly who this person is, because I like living and also I don’t want to upset your illusions. Still, he is spitting better now than he was back in the day. Hip-Hop insiders know who he is and that he is proficient with employing ghosties. This guy slightly angers me, but I will let him live and not expose him. He is quietly being exposed in the underworld of Hip Hop, for those that know his deep, dark secret! He has done songs with people and openly uses the ghost pen!
And, get this…he seems to think he’s outgrown the culture. Go figure.
Hip Hop lists always spark lots of disagreement, but Rolling Stone’s latest offering has baffled many on social media.
Veteran Hip Hop journalists, fans and more blasted Rolling Stone’s list of the 200 greatest Hip Hop albums of all time, which was published on Tuesday (June 7). Although these types of lists are destined to face criticism, Hip Hop heads questioned Rolling Stone’s selections.
One of the head-scratching decisions was OutKast’s Stankonia album being listed at No. 2. Although the LP is critically acclaimed and well-regarded by fans, Aquemini and ATLiens have typically been viewed as OutKast’s best albums.
Another puzzling choice was Nas’ Illmatic landing at No. 24 despite frequently being in the G.O.A.T. conversation. The LP wound up behind Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy, Madvillain’s Madvillainy and Future’s DS2, among others.
Rolling Stone also raised eyebrows with City Girls’ mixtape Period at No. 138, which put it ahead of notable classics. Nas’ It Was Written, Black Moon’s Enta Da Stage, Little Brother’s The Listening, LL Cool J’s Radio and UGK’s Super Tight were just a few of the albums ranked behind the tape.
View some of the reactions to Rolling Stone’s list below.
‘Best of all time’ lists always spark controversy, but seeing my OG hip-hop journalist pals express exasperation for Rolling Stone’s newest foray reminds me why we started @TheSource way back in 1988.
They disrespected and misunderstood the music from day 1. We were the anti-RS. https://t.co/lN6Z6Zp94b
Look, I get that lists are subjective but Rolling Stone's top 200 hip hop albums is f*cking ridiculous. Any list that has Cardi B's "Invasion of Privacy" ranked higher than "Illmatic," "Midnight Marauders," "Aquemini" and "Doggystyle" is null and void.
And apparently, Rolling Stone thinks that Doja Cat, Migos, RaeSremmurd, Future, Young Thug, Birdman, Rich Homie Quan made albums greater than MC Lyte, 8Ball & MJG (who don't have a single album on this list), the Goodie Mob, Organized Konfusion, and Jeru the Damaja.
A wise man once told me that a good list is one no one can agree on. That said, a 200 Greatest Hip-Hop Albums of All Time list with ‘The Great Adventures of Slick Rick’ at #82 is a bad one. Respectfully.
Bruh nah fam – the #19 greatest hip hop album of all time is Lil Kim’s Hardcore? Did I read that right? Ahead of Nas Illmatic? And Future’s DS2 is ahead of Illmatic? That's where I stopped looking at it https://t.co/cAZcPQMRhm
“ABOW” a new way to say “damn” or “wow,” but Dream Doll, Rubi Rose, Kash Doll and ShantiiP are taking it a step farther. The word stems from the lyrics “He told me throw it back, abow.” and quickly took over Tik Tok prompting the addition of Kash, DreamDoll and Rubi Rose. This fun and energetic song allows the ladies to have some fun and take over the airwaves just in time for Summer.
Another Kanye West relationship has reportedly ended.
According to TMZ, Kanye and model Chaney Jones split up after taking a trip to Japan. Jones scrubbed all photos of Ye from her Instagram account.
Kanye dated Jones for five months. Ye’s romance with the Delaware native started once he broke up with Uncut Gems actress Julia Fox.
TMZ’s sources confirmed Ye’s breakup with Jones after a photo surfaced of him with another woman. An Instagram user named Everette Motta snapped a shot of Kanye on an apparent movie date.
“Forgot to mention…went to see @topgunmovie the other night and sat next to @kanyewest,” Motta wrote.
Last year, Kanye found himself in the dating pool after his ex-wife Kim Kardashian filed for divorce. The Grammy-winning rapper/producer initially spent months trying to save their marriage.
A few months ago, a judge declared Kardashian legally single. Before the judge’s ruling, she famously got into a relationship with comedian Pete Davidson.
Ye quickly viewed Davidson as an enemy once the comic started dating Kardashian. He dissed Davidson via music and social media on several occasions.
Kanye is legally single now, but his divorce is still being litigated. Last month, Ye’s attorney Samantha Spector exited the case.
Read more about why his lawyer left the divorce proceedings here.
Migos reportedly haven’t split up despite speculation about the trio’s status.
Breakup rumors heated up again after the Governors Ball revealed the group won’t perform at the upcoming festival, which begins on Friday (June 10). According to TMZ, a label rep says Migos had to drop out due to a schedule conflict.
Migos will miss the Governors Ball because Quavo is currently shooting a movie. Their label rep insists the trio remains together as of now.
Last month, fans began speculating about Migos breaking up when Offset stopped following his fellow members on Instagram. Quavo and Takeoff added more fuel to the fire by announcing the formation of a duo called Unc and Phew.
The two dropped a song titled “Hotel Lobby” to kick off their new venture as Unc and Phew. Quavo also raised more questions when he avoided answering a paparazzo’s question about the breakup rumors.
Although the label rep denied any split, none of the Migos members have publicly declared all is well between them. The rumors may persist until they do or release more music together.
Migos dropped their latest album Culture III in June 2021. The project peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Village Boy Prince is here to tell his story and put on for his roots in Sierra Leone the best way he can. If you’re unfamiliar with the area, the country in West Africa experienced a civil war back in 1992, resulting in a split between the government and its inhabitants. For over a decade, citizens were fighting for their lives and freedom… as violence and poverty went on to plague their homes.
Rising from the ashes is Village Boy Prince, who luckily found solace in music and dance. While Prince is his real name, the name also derives from Prince Lamin Silla, the king of the village Kenema who’s background and culture directly impacts his current sound and art. As the son of a diamond dealer, Village Boy Prince fondly remembers growing up amidst the culture of Jeleba, where people perform at weddings and ceremonies with live instruments.
After discovering Michael Jackson who he lists as his main source of inspiration, Prince would then find the courage and confidence to pursue a music career full-heartedly.
AllHipHop: Not a lot of people are from Sierra Leone, could you give us your backstory?
Village Boy Prince: I’m from a village called Kenema in Sierra Leone. My village is small and filled with fishermen, diamond miners, and farmers; though we are blessed with minerals, we are troubled by corruption. I found my joy in music and dance. I am a real music lover. Since I was a kid, I’ve been around music and I just love to write, listen to, and perform music. When I first started as a kid, I didn’t know my mom. She moved and came to America. Then my dad moved and went to Angola, so I was there at home all by myself. I was able to figure it out.
AllHipHop: How did that impact your music today?
Village Boy Prince: Just the culture. I’m from a cultural place, so it shaped me into who I am today as far as things that I talk about. I talk about love, happiness, and affection. I talk about empowering and uplifting women. It is all about peace and harmony.
AllHipHop: How would you describe your sound?
Village Boy Prince: My sound is very melodic. Not sweet, not sour, right in between. It is powerful. When you hear my song, my melodies are going to touch you. You’re going to feel something inside of you. It’s very special to me and my culture, and I hope to touch the hearts of other music lovers when they listen.
AllHipHop: Who were your favorite artists growing up?
Village Boy Prince: Growing up, my cousin was the biggest artist in my country. I was around him, his name is K-Man. That’s my mentor, that’s who I got everything from. Then Michael Jackson of course. Before my dad moved to Angola, he left me a Michael Jackson DVD. We’d have lights in the village once in a while, and that’s all I was watching. Then I started picking up moves. Next thing you know, I’m in front of the class dancing and performing.
AllHipHop: How’d you get your name?
Village Boy Prince: I’m a village boy and my name is Prince, so I just put it together. People will read my name and they will know exactly where I’m from.
AllHipHop: Was there a moment where you realized you wanted to do music for a living?
Village Boy Prince: Yes, I was six years old. That’s when I knew this is what I want to do. Because where I’m from, my tribe, we have this thing called Jeleba. What it does is when we have weddings or naming ceremonies or birthday parties, really any celebration, we come here and perform. We sing, dance, and play different instruments. We entertain. I was around that scene, saying, “Man, I want to be doing this.”
When I finally left and came to America, I wanted to pursue music to the fullest. So when I got the opportunity to come to America, I went to college to receive an education in music. I attended Full Sail University in Florida for recording arts, so I could learn how to produce, mix and master my own music. Now, I am self-sufficient. I make my own music so I don’t have to depend on anybody.
AllHipHop: How was it coming to America? Was there a culture shock at all?
Village Boy Prince: Yes. Where I’m from, we look at America like heaven. I swear, I thought there were no roaches out here, no flies, nothing like that. That’s how we look at America. When I came here I realized this is where I want to be. It is way way better than where I’m from, of course, look at all the opportunities. There are a lot of opportunities here, you can be who you want to be in America. You can make your dreams come true here. If you have the passion and the mindset, you can achieve your dreams.
AllHipHop: What’s your favorite thing about America?
Village Boy Prince: I would say lights. We don’t have lights back home. Lights are on 24/7 here. It sounds small, but to me, it’s huge.
AllHipHop: What did you learn from attending Full Sail?
Village Boy Prince: Music, making beats, and producing. I also met a whole bunch of people that I was able to learn from and connect with. Receiving an education was a blessing to me.
AllHipHop: You dropped “Change My Life” in 2020, what inspired that record?
Village Boy Prince: It was actually a girl. [Laughs.] Because I was going through a phase of my life where I was willing to change a few things about myself for a girl. With me, I like to write about personal stuff, and really speak from the heart, so I had to make a song about that.
AllHipHop: What music are you currently working on?
Village Boy Prince: I’m working on a whole bunch of new music, with a couple names you may have heard. But it’s in the wraps right now. I go to the studio every day, so my catalog is huge. I record all night long, everyday. Right now, I have a whole bunch of unreleased projects that are coming soon.
AllHipHop: What inspires you the most?
Village Boy Prince: My mom inspires me. Just growing up, everything she went through. Also, my people back home inspire me, because there’s nothing there. I wake up in the morning with this fire inside of me to just go hard, to make my family and my country proud.
AllHipHop: 3 things you need in the studio at all times?
Village Boy Prince: Of course, I need my champagne, I need some weed, and I need a few vibes around.
AllHipHop: What does Afrobeat mean to you?
Village Boy Prince: Afrobeat means everything to me. It’s happiness. It means affection, love, and unity. Coming from where I am from, family is everything.
Not to downgrade hip hop or anything, but when people talk about things with women and call them certain names, it is degrading. It is demeaning. The whole vibe of afrobeat is to uplift women, and sing of love, and beautiful things.
Back home, we didn’t have anything. Music made us happy. Music kept us going. Even during and after the civil war, at least we had music and dance.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCz4KUfveOg
AllHipHop: I know you recently linked with ASSAL COBRA on “WINE PON.” How’d that come about?
Village Boy Prince: Yes, we did that two years ago. ASSAL is a cool friend of mine. She stopped by my house, which also has a studio. We actually did that on Christmas day 2020. She heard some of my music and was like, “Wow, your music is fire. Let me put on a beat.” She put on that beat, and we went from there.
AllHipHop: Talk about the merch you have coming out?
Village Boy Prince: Yes. Right now, you could check my IG @Villageboyprince.
Villagedon.com, that’s going to be the website for the merch, it’s on the way.
AllHipHop: What does a day in the life look like for Village Boy Prince?
Village Boy Prince: I go to the studio all night, so I wake up around 8 or 9am. Get my coffee, and go to the gym. I’ll grab some lunch, then figure out my schedule for the day. I always stop at my studio, Up La Brea Studios. I manage it, so it’s important I’m there to see what’s going on, make sure the engineers are there doing their sessions, and making sure everything runs smoothly. From there, I might take a little break, and rest. At nighttime, I go right back to the studio and create my own music until the morning. When you are in the groove, there is no stopping that.
AllHipHop: What do you like to do when you’re not working?
Village Boy Prince: I’m always working. [Laughs.] Except when I’m sleeping.
AllHipHop: Any goals for yourself at this point in your career?
Village Boy Prince: Yes definitely, feed the village. My goal is to feed the village.
AllHipHop: Anything else you want to let the people know?
Village Boy Prince: Yes, I want people to expect a whole bunch of great music coming their way. I want people to know music is my passion and my life. I work every day on pursuing what I love, and I can’t wait to be able to share it worldwide.
AllHipHop: Can we expect any upcoming singles?
Village Boy Prince: Yes, I have a bunch in the works right now. We’ll have one ready in a month or so. Right now, we’re cooking up a whole bunch of music, and making sure we get that out the right way.
Mo’Nique wants to discuss her feud with D.L. Hughley on his own radio show.
The comedian suggested a conversation needs to happen on his public platform after D.L. Hughley’s daughter Ryan Nicole Shepard criticized Mo’Nique on Instagram. Shepard, who felt her mother and sister were unfairly brought into the feud, offered to provide her personal address to Mo’Nique to talk about their issues in person.
“When D.L.’s daughter says, ‘C’mon let’s meet. And I’ll give you my personal address’ – sweet baby, I don’t need your personal address,” she said. “Your father has a platform that reaches millions. Let’s go on your daddy’s platform and have the conversation like mature adults.”
Mo’Nique also defended comments made about D.L. Hughley’s wife on stage. She asked, “How can you suck the dick of a coward?” during a stand-up performance.
“See, on the stage, I’m a performer, baby,” Mo’Nique explained. “I’m so unapologetic about my performance and what I say on that stage. That is a freedom stage. I won’t change that. I won’t divert from that. That’s my show. But let’s really have a conversation. Because when you say I insulted your mother, tell me what I said.”
Check out Mo’Nique’s interview with The Itiszzz below. Her response to D.L. Hughley’s daughter begins around the 59-minute mark.
The world is getting a little warmer to rapper Travis Scott. He has been booked for a music festival, the first one since his 2021 Astroworld tragedy.
He has been booked to appear on the Day N Vegas Festival in Las Vegas slated for September 2nd-4th weekend. The festival’s promoters also just released the full roster lineup.
Other big names performing during the weekend include J. Cole, SZA, 21 Savage, Baby Keem, City Girls, Conway the Machine, Playboi Carti and others.
But Travis Scott’s return is drawing the headlines. It is another win for the rapper, who recently released a sneaker drop with Nike that sold over 1 million pairs in 30 minutes.
Travis Scott also performed at the Billboard Music Awards, hosted and executively produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs. He made a triumphant return to the stage since that fatal accident that cost the lives of multiple people last fall.
Travis Scott is still fighting legal action stemming from the Astroworld Festival. He is managing hundreds of lawsuits totaling over $1 billion as other deals fall away.
As is often the case with many of the best musicians (and artists in general), sincere music often stems from difficult moments in our lives. Nevertheless, our experiences through life can drive our artistic efforts in a vulnerable way that echoes our creative output. It’s safe to say that genuine lyricism is what will most likely turn a listener into a fan––this is exactly what vetted artist Sufyan Cultrera executes so well in his career.
Sufyan Cultrera strives to be a forward-thinking artist who never compromises his values. He’s always paid homage to his roots, and it’s one of the main reasons for his influence’s success. Labels pump out artists every month, so creatives must pay special attention to their songs’ structure to stay nuanced and visible in a fast-paced music market.

Fresh off the release of Method Man’s “3rd Meth Lab” installment, Hanz On Music Entertainment ( H.O.M.E.) C.E.O. Anthony Messado better known as Hanz On/Hannibal the Great is releasing a new album by up-and-coming artist James Rich named ‘IKEY.’
Emerging from the Clifton section of Staten Island; Isaiah James Bennett better known as James Rich offers a unique energy to the game. His monotone voice and witty raps, along with an eclectic style, gives a life to his music that resonates with his fans.
Over the years he has built a catalog of music known as “Boutique Raps” in which he offers an in-depth look into his lifestyle, struggles and motivations.
Coming at you with beats that knock and a diverse flow package, Rich rarely misses. As the self-proclaimed “Staten Island Kobe,” he brings a confidence that resembles the likes through his technical approach and ability to perform in the clutch.
He credits his older brother as an early influence to “talk his sh*t” and have fun while doing so.
Rich feels the game needs more people like himself and his new found H.O.M.E seems to agree.
His album will be available June 24th, 2022 on all digital platforms.
Many people believe that rapper Jack Harlow, a white rapper in Hip-Hop culture, benefits from white privilege, suggesting his popularity is connected to him pimping the system and the novelty of his race.
However, the rapper doesn’t want anyone to think he is skating to the top of the charts because of his race and not open doors.
“He doesn’t have white privilege,” the Philly artist and fellow Generation Now labelmate said. “He’s signed to Black people.”
The rapper is not only signed to Black people but wants to help other artists of color get signed. He believes he should give back to the industry that has given him so much.
Jack Harlow has done so by letting Black talent and local talent open for him, like when he allowed The Homies to open every show on his 2021 “Crème de la Crème Tour.”
Jack Harlow doesn’t want anyone to think he is trying to portray himself as a white savior. He is just trying to be respectful, find his place and contribute to the world he loves.
“I was telling The New York Times how it’s not a massive phenomenon to me because it’s just a continuation of how my life was before I was famous,” he said of being around Black people – and Black women.
Being in Black spaces has its perks. He gets to be around something he sure does love, Black women. When asked about his attraction to the mocha-latte, he told Teen Vogue. “I love Black women. I’ve loved Black women my whole life.”
He posted on Instagram, “When I watched it I was disgusted by that cop, and all I wanted to do was make something good happen for this girl immediately.”
“I told the world to help me identify her so I could find a way to give her a hug and give her as many tickets to as many shows as she wants.”
“But that’s not enough, and it’s not a solution to a systemic issue that people who don’t look like me have to face,” he said. “The next step is identifying this police officer and getting him unemployed as fast as we can. Assaulting a young woman and putting his hands on her neck is sickening.”

Dave Chappelle performed a last-minute set at Shea’s Performing Arts Centre in Buffalo on Sunday, with the 3,000-seat theatre selling out.
According to a spokesperson for the venue, Dave’s Sunday show was meant to honor the families of those killed or wounded in the tragedy.
“He said, and I’m paraphrasing, ‘I came here to Buffalo to recognize the victims, and for these families,’” Shea marketing and communications director Kevin Sweeney recalled, according to Deadline.
In addition, attendees also reported on Twitter that Dave told the audience he was donating the show’s proceeds to the shooting victims’ families.
The comedy star has not yet commented on the donation.

Cardi agreed with the sentiment, adding: “Lmaaaooooooo imagine me not putting my OWN records on my album.”
