Kodak Black asked a court to end his probation over a year after Donald Trump pardoned the rapper.
According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Kodak Black’s lawyer Bradford Cohen filed a motion for early termination of his client’s supervised release. The attorney claimed his client’s experience with the justice system “changed him profoundly.”
The Atlantic Records artist remains on probation after serving approximately 21 months in prison for falsifying information on federal forms to buy firearms. Trump commuted Kodak Black’s sentence in January 2021 but left the supervised release term intact.
“Defendant’s performance during the past fourteen (14) months of his supervised release fits the objectives and criteria for early termination such as: stable community reintegration (residence, family, employment), progressive strides toward supervision objections, and no identifiable risk to the safety of any victim or the public,” Cohen wrote in his filing. “The interests of justice would be well served by an early termination of Defendant’s supervised release and would allow for the resources dedicated to Defendant’s supervision to be conserved and allocated to the supervision of others more in need of close oversight.”
Kodak Black, whose government name is Bill Kapri, intends to move from South Florida once he’s off probation. His lawyer believes relocation will help his client avoid more trouble with the law.
“[He] wishes to move out of the area he is in,” Cohen explained. “Defendant wants a fresh start to remove himself from situations and outside influences that may affect his recovery and freedoms.”
Cohen continued, “From early childhood through his adult life and career, Defendant has been surrounded by individuals who were avid drug-users and exposed to criminal behavior often accompanying drug use. He has made great strides to stay away from those bad influences. Even now he continues with private after care treatment to ensure he doesn’t fall into the depth of addiction again.”
Kodak Black violated his probation when he tested positive for drugs in October 2021. He dodged additional time behind bars by completing 90 days of in-patient intensive treatment. Cohen says his client maintains a “sober buddy” in an effort to prevent any relapses.
In the motion, Kodak Black’s lawyer cited his client’s personal growth as a reason to end the supervised release. Cohen noted the controversial rapper earned his GED and obtained a boating license. His client is also exploring the possibility of going to college.
“Defendant has publicly expressed his desire to complete a higher education program,” Cohen wrote. “In pursuit of this goal, he has applied, set up an online account, and has been in contact with the University of Arizona. They are awaiting Defendant’s transcripts from when he obtained his GED and it is believed that Defendant would be eligible to attend classes once the transcripts are received. Defendant also successfully completed a Florida Boating Safety Course, for which he was issued a certificate for on April 8, 2021 and found property in Arizona that he would like to purchase to support a permanent move to the area.”
Kodak Black will now play the waiting game to see if the court grants his request.
AFN Peso lives life by one mantra: sticking to the code. Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, the rising star prides himself in being one of the realest beyond just rap — proving if he can make his wildest dreams come true, so can you. His name itself stands for “Ain’t For Nothing,” which basically translates to “we ain’t going for nothing.”
In describing himself, Peso states he’s a “go-getter, a rapper from Los Angeles with an opportunity to win. He came from nothing and turned it into something. Against all odds, he found a way.”
Having always loved music, Peso really only started rapping 4 years ago, thanks to the support of his blood brother who is currently locked up. He fondly remembers writing in his notebook, feeling like he could possibly make a career out of it. And if there’s one thing he’s good at, it’s telling his story.
AFN Peso recently unveiled his newest project, aptly titled The Real Thing II released via AFN Records/EMPIRE. Clocking in at 15 tracks, the body of work sees Peso wearing his heart on his sleeve, spitting his truth while effortlessly motivating and empowering his fans. The project also has all-star features from Larry June, Icewear Vezzo, and LA’s Gary Chose.
AllHipHop: How was it growing up in South Central Los Angeles?
AFN Peso: It was regular. It was fun, adventurous, exciting, and a learning experience. All that in one.
AllHipHop: What artists did you love that you were listening to?
AFN Peso: It’s too much to name, I ain’t gon’ lie. All the s### that I feel like connected to my life, that’s it. People like that. I’ll say Nipsey.
AllHipHop: What did it mean to see Nipsey put on for his hometown?
AFN Peso: It was everything to me. When he passed, it restructured my brain again. I’m an analyzer, so he was the one that showed us we could go back to the hood, show love and get love back. When he left, it surprised me and it shocked me. It showed me that at the end of the day, you always have to continue your growth. You can’t turn around and reach back to certain people because they won’t appreciate it.
AllHipHop: Your brother inspired you to make music?
AFN Peso: Yeah, that’s his dad. [points to nephew] He’s in jail now.
AllHipHop: What was the inspiration behind your name?
AFN Peso: Just getting to the money, staying focused. I feel like it’s my swag: Peso. AFN, that’s my brand. That’s the s### I started with my bros. It’s been my character, focusing on the bag. Ya feel me?
AllHipHop: What was your first big bag?
AFN Peso: I’ll say it was off of learning experiences. [laughs] It came off learning experiences, learning right from wrong.
AllHipHop: Talk about selling out your first show ever last year. How was that experience?
AFN Peso: It was surprising, shocking. Amazing, beautiful. It made me feel like I have something going and I gotta keep it going. It pushed me, motivated me. It was at Los Globos in Los Angeles, we did like 400 people in there.
AllHipHop: New project The Real Thing II out now. How are you feeling?
AFN Peso: I feel like the world is in my hands, I just gotta grab it. There’s no slowing down now. Coming from an underground artist in LA who really does get a lot of love from the fans, but not so much from the media yet. I don’t really be too much on socials like I’m supposed to. I just feel like this s### is tangible now.
AllHipHop: How did you build a fanbase?
AFN Peso: Just trying to find myself and saying certain s### that rappers ain’t saying, as far as speaking on my life experiences. People relating to what I’m doing and what I have going on. And now people are seeing the growth, I just feel like it’s coming full-circle.
AllHipHop: What made you name the project series The Real Thing?
AFN Peso: I feel like this s### real. It’s real: real s###, real life. When you’re around people like your homies, they listen to it and feel every bar like “oh that s### touched me,” you know you’re making a mark on people. It’s the real thing. It’s nothing sugarcoated. It’s nothing making you focus on a certain way of living. It’s showing you there’s all types of ways of living, you just gotta figure out which way is best for you. We all go through hard times, bad times, but it’s all about overcoming them and never giving up.
AllHipHop: Love seeing you have Larry June on “Doped Up,” he’s so fire.
AFN Peso: That’s my boy. He be f###### with me. He’s one of the first dudes to ever f### with me.
AllHipHop: Really, how?
AFN Peso: Just based off of listening to my music I guess, tapping in. A lot of people don’t like to show love, I can’t say I do either. I don’t really be messaging too many artists trying to work with them, I be focused on what I’m doing. But when it’s someone like that where you can respect their craft as well, you should always make it gel. His following is dope. His approach to the game is dope and I like it, so I feel like it’d mix in with me.
AllHipHop: How’d he catch wind of you?
AFN Peso: I have no idea. [laughs] He liked some pictures first, then it turned into “oh yeah let’s get one.” And we ended up getting one. We got it in 4 or 5 months ago, 2 months before the project came out.
AllHipHop: Do you guys have a video?
AFN Peso: Nah, we gonna do something else then do a video.
AllHipHop: What’d it mean to link with Icewear Vezzo on “No Whammy”?
AFN Peso: That s### was cool. That s### was straight. It made sense. I looked at what he got going on. From the outside looking in, I respect a lot of the stuff. At the end of the day, I’ma get mines regardless. Whatever we gotta do to make the business make sense, we gon’ make it make sense.
AllHipHop: One thing you want fans to get from this project?
AFN Peso: Never give up, for sure. From this project, I want to encourage fans to be the best you could be. Whatever you’re going through or whatever you have going on. Understand be humbled, but know who you are at the end of the day. Pop your s### when you feel it’s needed. You don’t have to be all in the mix to be around or be in front of anybody to be one of the dopest.
AllHipHop: What separates this second installment from the first?
AFN Peso: I took a little bit more time on it, focused on it in a different way. It’s real s###. I done went through a lot in my life so it’s pouring out. If you listen to it, you pay attention.
AllHipHop: What inspired “One Man Army”?
AFN Peso: People trying to take credit for what you did. People trying to put you in a box. People trying to place themselves around you when at the end of the day, they know they’re fake. They know they’re lame, they know their intentions are bad. You gotta let a muthafucka know with or without you, it’s gonna go up. For the people that’s faking the funk, it’s n*gga you’ll never be over here. You’ll never be with us. That’s what it is.
AllHipHop: Where was the video shot?
AFN Peso: Colorado, we had to get the snow. We had to get the soft snow out there. I was whooping my brother’s ass at Madden. [laughs] We was chillin’.
AllHipHop: Talk about the independent grind.
AFN Peso: The independent grind is great. Most people should do it, if you can do It. You gotta be a leader though if you want to be a boss. If you’re more so a person that can just fit in the work environment and do what you’re supposed to do, that’s better for the labels. For an independent artist, if you know how to be a leader, if you’re a leader of man, you’re a leader of yourself, then you’re able to turn that into real revenue and real growth. It’ll take a little longer, but it’s gon’ happen. You’re gonna benefit from it a lot more.
AllHipHop: What were you going through recording “Success Pt 2”?
AFN Peso: People talking on the internet. I ain’t worried, I’m not thinking about it while I’m trying to run a big bag. I have people to feed and people to put in position. I’m not finna let nobody take away from what the f### I have going on. Success, that’s what we’re made for.
AllHipHop: How does it feel to be able to do music for a living?
AFN Peso: It’s the best s### ever. What’s better than that? S###’s better than being in the NFL if you ask me. You make people move forever. They might not go watch your game tapes from the 60’s or 80’s, but they’ll listen to your music.
AllHipHop: I saw you got some fire merch also.
AFN Peso: Oh yeah, AFNbhs.com. This is the first drop we did, that s###’s damn near gone. I didn’t think it would go like that. I feel like I’m making my mark a little bit more. It’s time to really make a stamp. That’s why I’m trying to move a little bit more and do interviews, even though I come 2 hours late. [laughs] We gon’ make it happen though. Merch is great though, it’s gon’ get better. Mark my word.
AllHipHop: 3 things you need in the studio?
AFN Peso: Me, myself and I. Thats all I need. I don’t need nothing. I don’t need no girls in there, I don’t need no n*ggas in there. Sometimes I might wanna smoke a little bit, other than that I’m good.
AllHipHop: New song “Can’t Stop The Rain,” what can we expect?
AFN Peso: The video’s dropping next week. It’s some real s###, listen to it. That’s some real s### right there. Listen to every bar in that muthafucka, you gon’ hear where I really came from. I’m on some business s###. I’m on some corporate s### because when I was younger, we were on b#######. Not knowing, not understanding. Coming from hurt environments, coming from different types of homes. It turned us into fearless young n*ggas. But now, it’s time to transport that energy into the business world. Really make a stamp and show people how to carry themselves. If everybody carries themselves as real people, then we won’t have no more problems like that. It be the fake people who ruin everything. It only takes a little bit of mold to f### the whole batch up. That’s how I look at It.
AllHipHop: Any goals for yourself at this point in your career?
AFN Peso: Yep, put everybody around me in position. Put my mom in a big ass house, put my daddy in a Lamborghini truck. Put his ass in private school [points to nephew]. Yes sir. That’s what we’re trying do, that’s what we do it for. Everybody I love, I just want to see them win.
AllHipHop: Anything else fans need to know about AFN Peso?
AFN Peso: I’m the real thing, the one and the 2. EP on the way, videos on the way. EP will probably be out in May.
AllHipHop: You have a name yet?
AFN Peso: If Not Him Then Who?
AllHipHop: Any features?
AFN Peso: I can’t say yet, but it’s gonna be dope though.

Boosie Badazz has inserted himself in another LBTQIA+ whirlwind conversation.
This time, the Southern rapper has commented on the controversial topic of transgender athletes.
Boosie Badazz discussed cheating in sports with Vladtv, specifically zeroing in on University of Pennsylvania student Lia Thomas, a transgender swimmer competing against CIS gender women.
He called her a “cheater.”
“Cheater. [Ranked 462 as a male], and he is No. 1 in the women. Cheater,” Boosie said.
“That’s the only thing you can think of. Cheater,” the “Wipe Me Down” chart-topper continued. “That’s saying, a guy who makes an F year-round passes the ACT with an A. No, you cheated. That’s how I feel about that situation.”
Earlier this year, he tweeted about Lia Thomas, saying, “Cheater, he needs to leaave lol.”
Boosie is not the only one that thinks Thomas has an unfair advantage.
Sixteen members of her team have raised complaints, saying that she has a biological advantage over her competitors that should not be justified by school and sports association officials.
They wrote in a letter, “We fully support Lia Thomas in her decision to affirm her gender identity and to transition from a man to a woman. Lia has every right to live her life authentically.”
“However, we also recognize that when it comes to sports competition, that the biology of sex is a separate issue from someone’s gender identity,” the statement read in part.
“Biologically, Lia holds an unfair advantage over competition in the women’s category, as evidenced by her rankings that have bounced from #462 as a male to #1 as a female.”
In response, the NCAA Board of Governors voted to have transgender athletes evaluated on a sport-by-sport basis.
The USA Swimming, the sport’s national governing body, has decided to use a three-person board of medical experts to decide whether an athlete has a competitive advantage because she was born male, noting that level of testosterone in her blood must also be below a certain level for her to participate on a female team.

Rapper Saweetie is an artist who has tackled a plethora of roles throughout her life.
She has been a daughter, a student, a professor, a rapper, a model, a producer, a video gamer, a girlfriend to a top rapper, and a businesswoman.
In a recent interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, the rap star revealed there was one profession she never had a chance to take on like some men in her family.
The rapper wanted to throw on some pads, cleats, and helmets on the gridiron.
Jared Quay interviewed the “My Type” chart-topper and he brought up her history with America’s favorite pastime.
He said, “You got some in your bloodline. Your grandfather Willie Harper was a 49ers linebacker for ten years. Your dad played college football. So, what’s the first sport you remember playing as a kid?”
Without any hesitation, she answered, “Football.”
“Well, I wanted to play,” Saweetie confessed. “When I was a sophomore in high school, they were trying to make me play for the team because they saw me throw a football in PE. But my grandmother wouldn’t let me play, because she was afraid that I was going to get hit too hard.”
While we would have loved to see her toss the pigskin, the thought of her getting hit will drive fans insane.
Saweetie appears in the new “Get it Girl” campaign for Champion, which highlights 12 female college athletes with the “confidence to play by their own rules and look good doing it.”
“I couldn’t be prouder to help all my sporty-icy girls out there feel empowered with self-love and confidence. When you feel good wearing Champion, the sky’s the limit,” Saweetie said.
A Houston concert promoter is suing rapper Gucci Mane for not honoring a performance contract or returning the initial deposit for the canceled show.
According to FOX 4, before the global pandemic, Brandon Mitchell booked Gucci Mane to perform on July 26th, 2019, at Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence.
In order to secure the popular performer for the date, a $100,000 security deposit was given to Gucci Mane’s team.
Out of the blue, the Atlanta native, whose real name is Radric Delantic Davis, abruptly canceled his commitment and never rescheduled.
Despite not fulfilling his contractual obligation, the rapper never returned the security deposit to Mitchell even after the promoter requested his money back.
As a result, on March 10th, Mitchell filed a federal lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
Gucci Mane and his agents, The Diop Agency and 1st Avenue Touring LLC, are listed as defendants in the lawsuit.
They are being sued for the following: breach of contract, unjust enrichment, negligent misrepresentation, promissory fraud, civil conspiracy, and wrongful conversion.
Mitchell believes the artist purposely lied to get paid while knowing he would not be able to perform all along.
“Plaintiff has lost income, incurred financial and reputational damages, lost additional costs, lost opportunities, attorney fees, and other damages,” the claim submits.
Singer-songwriter Muni Long scored a breakout hit with “Hrs and Hrs.” The veteran R&B vocalist is now officially under the Def Jam Recordings umbrella.
Muni Long’s Supergiant Records entered into a partnership with the notable music label. Def Jam chairman/CEO Tunji Balogun reportedly oversaw the high-profile signing.
“It has been a lifelong goal of mine to be able to bring my gifts to the world. This alignment with Tunji and Def Jam for a global takeover is a literal dream come true,” says Muni Long. “Supergiant Records started as an idea between myself and my husband Raysean in 2019 and over the course of the next two years we would invest, hire, strategize, and create.”
The Florida native continues, “As our team grew, so did our success, and as a result of hours and hours of hard work and intense focus, this year we reaped a bountiful harvest. Many, many thanks to my partners, Rashad Tyler, Raysean Hairston, Chris Anokute, and all those who contributed to this historic moment. We look forward to an incredible journey with Tunji and the Def Jam family.”
Moni Long released “Hrs and Hrs” as a single in February 2022 via Supergiant Records. The track lives on 2021’s Public Displays of Affection EP. Prior to “Hrs and Hrs” becoming a Top 20 success, Long wrote songs alongside Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, Ariana Grande, and other artists.
“We’ve both known Muni for over a decade, since the start of her music business journey as a teenager,” states Supergiant Records co-founder/co-manager Rashad Tyler and co-manager Chris Anokute. “So fast forward to now, through the ups and downs we’ve seen her endure, we couldn’t be happier for her current success. Let’s just say she put in her 10,000 hrs. “
Muni Long joins a Def Jam roster that includes 2 Chainz, Alessia Cara, Big Sean, DaniLeigh, Dave East, Fabolous, Jhené Aiko, Justin Bieber, Teyana Taylor, YK Osiris, and others. The 38-year-old record company has also been a label home to legendary acts such as LL Cool J, Public Enemy, Jay-Z, DMX, Nas, Kanye West, Jadakiss, and Rihanna. In addition, global rap star Snoop Dogg currently serves as a creative consultant for Def Jam.
“Muni represents everything a Def Jam artist should be: bold, independent, authentic, creative, visionary, and one of a kind,” says Def Jam CEO Tunji Balogun. “I have followed her artistry and journey very closely, from her time as a writer for some of the biggest artists in the world to the incredible run of success she is now so deservedly enjoying. Muni sets the new standard for where we want to go as a label.”
Balogun adds, “I’m thrilled to join with her and her world-class team in this exciting partnership. With all the amazing work done by Priscilla and Raysean, Chris, Rashad, and the Supergiant team, along with J.R. McKee and his MPR team – combined with the resources and passion of the Def Jam family – the sky’s the limit.”
Yo Gotti continues to solidify his place in Hip-Hop. Thus far, his latest release CM 10: Free Game, is his highest charting effort. Naturally, he is bringing his words to the people. Unfortunately, an Alabama concert shooting leaves three people injured.
So, the creative expression of Lil Yo continues to speak to the public. Perhaps, his provocative posturing ignited someone in the crowd. On Sunday (March 20), his Mobile, AL concert erupts into violence.

First off, the event began peacefully. In fact, concert doors opened at “9 p.m.” So, the agitation did not transpire “until around 1a.m.,” this according to AL.com. As a matter of fact, it is uncertain if the CMG boss had even taken the stage.
Furthermore, the publication cites, “a gunshot was fired inside of the fairgrounds auditorium, which hit a woman in her upper back.” Above all, there appears to be no link to the Memphis musician. Moreover, the “Law” lyricist remains completely unscathed.
Eventually, “That woman was taken to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury,” states local authorities. Additionally, the surging crowd is what actually caused the other ladies to get harmed. However, those two women were taken to a different hospital. It is a blessing that their injuries are minor.
In fact, Poetik Flakko obtained footage of the melee from the Southern spitter’s show.
An emailed statement shows, T. Joshua Wood, The Grounds Executive Director’s, gratitude. “We would like to take a moment to thank our security staff for immediately stepping up to the plate to ensure guests were safe and the incident was manage appropriately.”
Of course, an arrest warrant is circulating for the unidentified shooter. As it stands, Mobile police are actively working the case. As of yet, Yo Gotti has not publicly addressed this shooting.

Even celebrities can fall for misinformation online. It appears that may be what happened to Friday star O’Shea “Ice Cube” Jackson on March 21. The rapper/actor/entrepreneur apparently reacted to a bogus story from a known troll account on Twitter.
Ice Cube played Craig Jones in all three Friday motion pictures. The N.W.A. member/Rock & Roll Hall of Famer also wrote and produced 1995’s Friday, 2000’s Next Friday, and 2002’s Friday After Next.
Yesterday, @OhThatMarco falsely tweeted, “A Friday prequel is in the works for HBO Max. Comedian Druski and rapper Vince Staples are attached [to] the lead roles.”
While that fabricated tweet about another Friday movie did not include a link to a reputable source, Ice Cube still quote-tweeted the post and shared it with his 5.7 million Twitter followers. The 52-year-old “Check Yo Self” hitmaker wrote in response, “This is blasphemy.”
This is not the first time the @OhThatMarco account got a member of the Jackson family to react to one of his troll posts on Twitter. Ice Cube’s son, O’Shea Jackson Jr. [Straight Outta Compton, Swagger], quote-tweeted the same user in January.
“This like the 10th time lmao. This app is hilarious,” tweeted the person behind the @OhThatMarco page after another Twitter user pointed out that the fake Friday report went viral.
@OhThatMarco later added, “I gotta chill [before] Warner Bros make a Friday movie fa real.” Internet content creator Druski also provided feedback on the matter by simply tweeting, “🧢.” The Georgia native’s emoji signified the Friday rumor was “cap” which is slang for false.
The Friday movie franchise became newsworthy again in late 2021. Friday cast member Faizon Love and Next Friday cast member Michael Blackson came out to defend Ice Cube against backlash over the low pay rate for actors in the New Line Cinema-distributed films.
At one point, Nicholas “YBN Nahmir” Simmons was one of the hottest young rappers in the game. He picked up a Platinum plaque for “Rubbin Off the Paint” and scored another Hot 100 entry with “Opp Stoppa” featuring 21 Savage.
On Monday night, YBN Nahmir began sharing about other personal struggles as well. The 22-year-old product of Birmingham, Alabama admitted to having a substance abuse problem.
YBN Nahmir Is Looking To Get Help For His Addiction
Nahmir tweeted:
alright y’all, I feel like it’s best for me to just get this out my system. For 3 years I’ve been struggling with an alcoholic addiction. I’ve changed so much due to it, & not in the right ways. I’ve pushed so many of my love ones away & the people I care about because of it… I’ve constantly tried to slow down / stop myself from drinking, but it’s not easy at all. This year I want a new challenge & the challenge is for me to get clean. I never knew addiction was this hard. Before hand it was easy for me to block it out, but now it’s taking a toll…

The Visionland album creator added:
It’s just been a lot going on in my life behind close doors that I leave off the internet. The only thing I wanna do now in life is get help, therapy or even rehab… To feel like myself again & get my family back. I’m sorry y’all. I slipped. If you’re struggling with addiction it’s best to seek help. That’s all I’m trying to do. I use to think this was just some “normal s###” until I realized I’m NOT THE SAME ANYMORE. S### is one of the the worst feelings ever.
