“Hrs & Hrs” Singer Muni Long Inks Deal With Def Jam

Singer-songwriter Muni Long scored a breakout hit with “Hrs and Hrs.” The veteran R&B vocalist is now officially under the Def Jam Recordings umbrella.

Muni Long’s Supergiant Records entered into a partnership with the notable music label. Def Jam chairman/CEO Tunji Balogun reportedly oversaw the high-profile signing.

“It has been a lifelong goal of mine to be able to bring my gifts to the world. This alignment with Tunji and Def Jam for a global takeover is a literal dream come true,” says Muni Long. “Supergiant Records started as an idea between myself and my husband Raysean in 2019 and over the course of the next two years we would invest, hire, strategize, and create.”

The Florida native continues, “As our team grew, so did our success, and as a result of hours and hours of hard work and intense focus, this year we reaped a bountiful harvest. Many, many thanks to my partners, Rashad Tyler, Raysean Hairston, Chris Anokute, and all those who contributed to this historic moment. We look forward to an incredible journey with Tunji and the Def Jam family.”

Moni Long released “Hrs and Hrs” as a single in February 2022 via Supergiant Records. The track lives on 2021’s Public Displays of Affection EP. Prior to “Hrs and Hrs” becoming a Top 20 success, Long wrote songs alongside Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, Ariana Grande, and other artists.

“We’ve both known Muni for over a decade, since the start of her music business journey as a teenager,” states Supergiant Records co-founder/co-manager Rashad Tyler and co-manager Chris Anokute. “So fast forward to now, through the ups and downs we’ve seen her endure, we couldn’t be happier for her current success. Let’s just say she put in her 10,000 hrs. “

Muni Long joins a Def Jam roster that includes 2 Chainz, Alessia Cara, Big Sean, DaniLeigh, Dave East, Fabolous, Jhené Aiko, Justin Bieber, Teyana Taylor, YK Osiris, and others. The 38-year-old record company has also been a label home to legendary acts such as LL Cool J, Public Enemy, Jay-Z, DMX, Nas, Kanye West, Jadakiss, and Rihanna. In addition, global rap star Snoop Dogg currently serves as a creative consultant for Def Jam.

“Muni represents everything a Def Jam artist should be: bold, independent, authentic, creative, visionary, and one of a kind,” says Def Jam CEO Tunji Balogun. “I have followed her artistry and journey very closely, from her time as a writer for some of the biggest artists in the world to the incredible run of success she is now so deservedly enjoying. Muni sets the new standard for where we want to go as a label.”

Balogun adds, “I’m thrilled to join with her and her world-class team in this exciting partnership. With all the amazing work done by Priscilla and Raysean, Chris, Rashad, and the Supergiant team, along with J.R. McKee and his MPR team – combined with the resources and passion of the Def Jam family – the sky’s the limit.”

Yo Gotti Concert Shooting Leaves 3 Injured In Alabama (Video)

Yo Gotti continues to solidify his place in Hip-Hop. Thus far, his latest release CM 10: Free Game, is his highest charting effort. Naturally, he is bringing his words to the people. Unfortunately, an Alabama concert shooting leaves three people injured.

So, the creative expression of Lil Yo continues to speak to the public. Perhaps, his provocative posturing ignited someone in the crowd. On Sunday (March 20), his Mobile, AL concert erupts into violence.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CaQNQjfJeYW/

First off, the event began peacefully. In fact, concert doors opened at “9 p.m.” So, the agitation did not transpire “until around 1a.m.,” this according to AL.com. As a matter of fact, it is uncertain if the CMG boss had even taken the stage.

Furthermore, the publication cites, “a gunshot was fired inside of the fairgrounds auditorium, which hit a woman in her upper back.” Above all, there appears to be no link to the Memphis musician. Moreover, the “Law” lyricist remains completely unscathed.

Eventually, “That woman was taken to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury,” states local authorities. Additionally, the surging crowd is what actually caused the other ladies to get harmed. However, those two women were taken to a different hospital. It is a blessing that their injuries are minor.

In fact, Poetik Flakko obtained footage of the melee from the Southern spitter’s show.

An emailed statement shows, T. Joshua Wood, The Grounds Executive Director’s, gratitude. “We would like to take a moment to thank our security staff for immediately stepping up to the plate to ensure guests were safe and the incident was manage appropriately.”

Of course, an arrest warrant is circulating for the unidentified shooter. As it stands, Mobile police are actively working the case. As of yet, Yo Gotti has not publicly addressed this shooting.

Megan Thee Stallion Celebrates “Sweetest Pie” Debuting In The Top 20

Megan Thee Stallion is currently dealing with the latest chapter of her longstanding legal battle with 1501 Certified Entertainment CEO Carl Crawford. However, Hot Girl Meg still has something to celebrate this week, thanks to “Sweetest Pie.”

The Houston-bred Hip Hop star dropped “Sweetest Pie” on March 11. Award-winning British Pop singer Dua Lipa also appears on the OG Parker, Platinum Library, and Romano-produced track.

Megan Thee Stallion’s “Sweetest Pie” debuted at #15 on Billboard‘s latest Hot 100 rankings. That collaboration with Dua Lipa is Megan’s highest-charting single as a lead artist since “Thot S###” peaked at #16 in June 2021.

“Let me tell y’all how proud and grateful I am! For me to completely step out of my normal zone/genre/style of music or whatever and crack the TOP 20 on @billboardcharts as the DEBUT!!! B#### I’m gagginggg 😭😭😭 thank you to @DUALIPA for doing this with me 💕 only up from here,” tweeted Thee Stallion on Monday afternoon.

Additionally, this month saw another all-female collab with Megan Thee Stallion cross a major milestone. Cardi B’s No. 1 Hot 100 hit “WAP” featuring Meg joined Spotify’s coveted 1 billion streams club.

Meanwhile, Megan The Stallion and Dua Lipa’s “Sweetest Pie” has already amassed more than 22 million plays on Spotify. The song’s music video also collected over 14 million views on YouTube.

“Sweetest Pie” is expected to serve as the first official single from Megan’s upcoming second studio album. She released the Platinum-certified Good News in 2020 before letting loose the Something for Thee Hotties compilation last year.

Ice Cube Reacts To Fake Report About ‘Friday’ Movie Starring Vince Staples

Even celebrities can fall for misinformation online. It appears that may be what happened to Friday star O’Shea “Ice Cube” Jackson on March 21. The rapper/actor/entrepreneur apparently reacted to a bogus story from a known troll account on Twitter.

Ice Cube played Craig Jones in all three Friday motion pictures. The N.W.A. member/Rock & Roll Hall of Famer also wrote and produced 1995’s Friday, 2000’s Next Friday, and 2002’s Friday After Next.

Yesterday, @OhThatMarco falsely tweeted, “A Friday prequel is in the works for HBO Max. Comedian Druski and rapper Vince Staples are attached [to] the lead roles.”

While that fabricated tweet about another Friday movie did not include a link to a reputable source, Ice Cube still quote-tweeted the post and shared it with his 5.7 million Twitter followers. The 52-year-old “Check Yo Self” hitmaker wrote in response, “This is blasphemy.”

This is not the first time the @OhThatMarco account got a member of the Jackson family to react to one of his troll posts on Twitter. Ice Cube’s son, O’Shea Jackson Jr. [Straight Outta Compton, Swagger], quote-tweeted the same user in January.

“This like the 10th time lmao. This app is hilarious,” tweeted the person behind the @OhThatMarco page after another Twitter user pointed out that the fake Friday report went viral.

@OhThatMarco later added, “I gotta chill [before] Warner Bros make a Friday movie fa real.” Internet content creator  Druski also provided feedback on the matter by simply tweeting, “🧢.” The Georgia native’s emoji signified the Friday rumor was “cap” which is slang for false.

The Friday movie franchise became newsworthy again in late 2021. Friday cast member Faizon Love and Next Friday cast member Michael Blackson came out to defend Ice Cube against backlash over the low pay rate for actors in the New Line Cinema-distributed films.

YBN Nahmir Admits To Struggling With Alcohol Addiction

At one point, Nicholas “YBN Nahmir” Simmons was one of the hottest young rappers in the game. He picked up a Platinum plaque for “Rubbin Off the Paint” and scored another Hot 100 entry with “Opp Stoppa” featuring 21 Savage.

The 2018 XXL Freshman Class member’s career slowed down in more recent years. In February 2021, YBN Nahmir complained that “old n##### in the background” played a role in the separation of the YBN collective.

That statement came after Cordae dropped the YBN prefix from his stage name. Then last June, Nahmir also experienced a public falling out with his former YBN comrade Almighty Jay.

On Monday night, YBN Nahmir began sharing about other personal struggles as well. The 22-year-old product of Birmingham, Alabama admitted to having a substance abuse problem.

YBN Nahmir Is Looking To Get Help For His Addiction

Nahmir tweeted:

alright y’all, I feel like it’s best for me to just get this out my system. For 3 years I’ve been struggling with an alcoholic addiction. I’ve changed so much due to it, & not in the right ways. I’ve pushed so many of my love ones away & the people I care about because of it… I’ve constantly tried to slow down / stop myself from drinking, but it’s not easy at all. This year I want a new challenge & the challenge is for me to get clean. I never knew addiction was this hard. Before hand it was easy for me to block it out, but now it’s taking a toll…

@YBNNahmir Twitter

The Visionland album creator added:

It’s just been a lot going on in my life behind close doors that I leave off the internet. The only thing I wanna do now in life is get help, therapy or even rehab… To feel like myself again & get my family back. I’m sorry y’all. I slipped. If you’re struggling with addiction it’s best to seek help. That’s all I’m trying to do. I use to think this was just some “normal s###” until I realized I’m NOT THE SAME ANYMORE. S### is one of the the worst feelings ever.

@YBNNahmir Twitter

YBN Namir is the latest rapper from the late 2010s-era to deal with substance abuse issues. In January, Lil Xan accused his then-manager, Stat Quo, of fueling his drug dependency. Additionally, both Juice WRLD and Lil Peep reportedly passed away from narcotic overdoses.

Kanye West Yearns To Take His Kids To Space Amid Crazy Custody Battle?

So, the relationship between Ye and Kim K continues to begrudgingly transform itself. Of course, the focus is shifting from romance to co-parenting. As of late, Hollywood Life shockingly alludes that Kanye West yearns to take his kids to space.

Thus far, these two have spawned a litany of acrimonious interactions. So, it seems as though anything is possible. Generally speaking, the Jeenn-Yuhs MC may go to great lengths to protect his children’s safety.

By all means, the drama is real. As a a matter of fact, there have been instances of a claymation decapacitation and the conjuring of a clone. On the whole, as more time passes, Yeezy’s divorce is becoming more contentious.

The Backstory

However, Mr. West appears to be fully invested into fortifying the well-being of his children. This is where things get interesting. The Jeenn-Yuhs MC has allegedly contemplated his personal “out-of-this-world experience.” The gossip rag shares that Space’X’s Elon Musk an the revolutionary rapper have had many discussions.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CaJ0iwWo1UD/

“Kanye and Elon have talked about taking a space flight together — but there has not been discussions on an exact date or exact time to do it,” reveals a confidential informant. “They are friends and talk about everything but they don’t have set plans to go together although the discussion has been had.”

The Future

However, the avant-garde artist is in no way trying to isolate his children. Moreover, he views the space travel as a way to uniquely demonstrate his creativity. “If and when Elon invites him on a trip, he’d want to do something on top of it just being a trip, he’d want to perform or do something completely out of the box and make a certain statement with it rather than it just being him going into space,” claims the strategic snitch.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CYclDTgobXO/

Furthermore, the idea of conducting a “listening party in space” reportedly resonates with legendary lyricist. “He also would like to add his kids to the potential trip,” says the source. “He wants to make it as unique as possible and not have it just be a ten-minute flight. “

Ultimately, Kanye West seems interested in taking his kids to space. This is only for a quick 10-minute flight.

Kodak Black Responds To Rumors He Wanted To Sleep With Latto For A Feature

Latto recently made headlines after she revealed one of the reasons it was hard to finalize her upcoming 777 album. According to the Atlanta-raised rapper, a male artist wanted sex in exchange for a guest feature.

“I’m clearing my album right now and it’s been difficult to deal with these men,” said Latto on the Big Boy’s Neighborhood radio show. “I’m just keeping it 100. It’s a feature on my album that it was difficult to clear, and they like trying to drop their nuts on me because I won’t respond to a DM.”

The 777 album creator went on to say she felt “bullied.” She also accused her label of not stepping up to help her in the situation. The RCA recording artist stated, “They say, ‘You know, don’t do that. It’s bad business.’ Man, these folks be trying to drop nuts on female rappers. I’m not gonna shut up about it.”

Kodak Black On Collaborating With Female Artists: “I Gotta Bust ‘Em”

Fans began speculating which unnamed male rapper Latto was speaking about in the interview. Kodak Black became a suspect, particularly because the Florida rhymer previously said he has to “bust” any female rapper he works with on music. Plus, a female victim accused Kodak of sexual assault in the past.

However, Kodak Black took to Twitter to shut down the rumors. He tweeted, “That Mulatto Girl IS NOT Talkin Bout Me Homie. 🤣 I See Y’all Steady Reachin Lol… Shawty Ain’t Even Say A N#### Name On Dat S###. Ion Know Why Tf Y’all Tryna Make A N#### Wear Dat Jacket. I’m Too Fly Fa Dat S### Homie.”

Latto Presents The Official 777 Tracklist

Latto revealed the 777 tracklist on Monday. The studio LP does include an appearance by Kodak Black. The Pompano Beach native contributed to a track titled “Bussdown.”

777 also features fellow Hip Hop acts 21 Savage, Lil Wayne, Childish Gambino, Lil Durk, and Nardo Wick. A remix for Latto’s Top 20 hit “Big Energy” with a special guest will also live on the forthcoming project.

Latto’s 777 will hit DSPs on March 25. The album follows 2020’s Queen of Da Souf which peaked at #44 on the Billboard 200 chart. A year earlier saw the arrival of the Big Latto and Hit the Latto EPs.

Central Cee Surprises Fans With “Ungrateful” Video

Central Cee has given the visual treatment to one of the most popular songs on his sophomore album, 23

The West London rapper teased fans on Monday (Mar. 21), revealing he was “in the mood to drop something.” A few hours later, he delivered on his promise, dropping the video for “Ungrateful,” which racked up over half a million views on YouTube in the first 12 hours of release.

Central Cee goes introspective on the drill cut, getting some things off his chest while burning sage and playing ball in the video. Check out the visuals below.

Central Cee “Ungrateful”

The follow-up to 2021’s Wild West, 23 is achieving both chart success and critical acclaim. Central Cee surpassed the accomplishments of Wild West which peaked at No. 2 in the U.K. charts, this time debuting at the top spot, achieving his first ever U.K. No. 1 album. He also has a string of other gold and platinum plaques to his name and delivered GRM’s highest-charting Daily Duppy freestyle.

However, during an interview last month, Central Cee revealed the accolades mean less to him than feeding his family and delivering music that fans can appreciate.

“All that stuff, that information, is invalid,” he said, referring to his streaming numbers. “It’s good for maybe Bello to know, or my distribution team to know. I know it, obviously, I’m well aware of it, but it’s nothing to keep on my shoulders. Like, I don’t walk around with it on my head. I don’t remind myself when I wake up in the morning that I’m the biggest UK rapper or nottin’. I don’t care.”

Central Cee continued, noting that his job satisfaction has little to do with numbers. “Being able to f###### feed my family and that,” really makes him feel good. “I like it when fans pay attention to detail in my videos, or really listen to what I’m saying,” he added. “That’s the stuff that would touch me.”

Carl Crawford & Megan Thee Stallion Clash Online: He Calls Her An “Alcoholic” She Claims He Pops Pills

Megan Thee Stallion unleashed online on Monday (Mar. 21) following the news that 1501 Certified Entertainment, led by Carl Crawford, filed a countersuit against her in their ongoing legal dispute.

The Houston native vented on Twitter in a series of tweets calling out the “greedy men” responsible for her beef with the label.

Meanwhile, in response, Carl Crawford accused Megan Thee Stallion of “playing the victim,” and hiding behind Roc nation.

“Stop playing the victim @theestallion,” he wrote on Instagram. “U haven’t paid for 1 show since 2019 🤬 hiding behind #Rocnation .. U can keep that b####### ass mix tape and send over that straight drop whenever u ready🤘🏾”

Megan Thee Stallion Says Crawford Is Hiding Behind J Prince

Megan pulled no punches, responding with, “Carl I don’t wanna be signed to yo pill popping ass! You talking abt I ain’t paid for a show and you sound slow,” she wrote. “Im the artist I don’t pay you directly maybe fight with THE MAN YOU SIGNED TO AND YOU MIGHT SEE SOME MONEY YOU F###### POWDER HEAD! You hiding behind JPRINCE.”

As to the Roc nation remarks, Megan remained unimpressed. “People love bringing up roc nation 😂” she wrote. “Like hell yeah my team is great am I supposed to have a bad one?… and what abt it b####”

After being called a drug abuser, Crawford then made allegations of his own via his Instagram Stories.

“Aye y’all believe that B####### all y’all want to …ion got Twitter fingers so I’m not bout to type s### all day..but I promise everything said about me about that matter is a lie,” he wrote. “The truth will be out soon enough.” He added, “Defamation claim in the way,” before following that up with a bold claim about Megan Thee Stallion.

“This all Coming from a Bonafide Alcoholic who f##### the whole industry including her best friend n*gga [facepalm emoji].”

However, by this time, Megan said she was done responding.

50 Cent Blames Starz: Reveals “Power Book IV: Force” His Last Show On The Network For 6 Months

50 Cent has fed Power fans with a continuous stream of content since the Starz flagship show ended. Despite the success of the spinoffs and his BMF series, the TV mogul said things are going to change.

“I have 4 more episodes of FORCE, then I don’t have anything airing on STARZ for six months so y’all know the vibes,” he wrote on Instagram. Many fans had wrongly assumed the series, which is almost at the end of the first season, would be immediately followed by Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 2.

50 Cent then clarified the delay in a follow-up post after receiving some backlash. He says Starz is to blame for taking too long to “green light” the series renewal.

“FORCE is the highest rated [premiere] of any show on the network,” Fiddy noted. “When they take too long to green light it, it pushes the production time line back. after tonight’s episode there are 3 left, April 10 it’s a wrap. Then 6 months till i have anything new.”

50 Cent Apologized On Behalf Of Starz

“I’m sorry they messed up the flow,” 50 Cent later added in another Instagram post.

Earlier this month, 50 Cent pushed back against the network for their delays in renewing the popular show, Starz’s most-watched premiere ever.

“This is me packing my stuff, STARZ,” he wrote on Instagram prior to the renewal. “Sucks, my deal is up over here I’m out. They Renewed High town and FORCE is the highest rated show they have it sitting in limbo. If I told you how much dumb s### I deal with over here.”

While 50 Cent remained silent on the return of Raising Kanan, season 2 is nearing completion.

“I don’t have a date, but I can tell you they are shooting the finale right now,” Power showrunner Courtney Kemp said during a Q&A on Instagram in February.

“We had to push part of the season because of COVID,” Kemp continued. “The Omicron surge made us have to delay the beginning of [‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 3] and take a break in the middle of ‘Raising Kanan’ Season 2. It’s going to be on a little later as a result, but like a tiny bit. And I think it’s actually more going to affect the second half of the season, but not that much.”

Florida Hip-Hop Artist Myammee Is Breaking Off Into The Christian Rap World

Florida hip-hop artist Myammee hops on the radar with her new single “This What It Look Like”. In the 3 minute song, Myammee raps on topics from perseverance to stress management, ultimately pointing listeners back to her driving message, sanctification. Her love for the lord and ability to express it through art has made her a notable figure in the Christian rap world.

Myammee’s path to salvation wasn’t a quick and easy journey. She first got her start outside of the gospel, and music altogether, when she was part of the cast of the VH1 reality hit series “Flavor Of Love”. It was there on the show, prompted by Flavor Flav himself, where Myammee ironically gained the name that eventually would help her spread the word of God.

On her newest single “This What It Look Like”, she shared the song of love alongside bars full of clever phrases and biblical references. Her strongest skill is her ability to invite her audience to worship with her without feeling like they’re being preached to. With singles releasing at a rapid rate, Myammee isn’t holding back her faith for anyone on this earth.

Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez are scheduled to return to court for a pre-trial hearing in April.

The population of Asian-American musicians doing full-time music is disproportionately slim. ZeZe is a Chinese-born musician who is tearing down walls of Asian hate in the music industry. ZeZe started his early music life at the age of 4 years old through the influence of his mother. He was later admitted to the Royal Academy of Music in London, in which he studied music compositions along with orchestral arrangements. Born in China, he strongly believes that his Chinese culture is being undervalued and underrated. In a recent interview, he claimed “People need to know that we have good music and immense talents in China, just like we have here in America. We are also people that value, respect, loyalty, and love”.

Holding this belief, Zeze is looking to combine his experience and studies of Chinese instruments and orchestra arrangements with the modern-day electronica and Hip Hop genres to further promote his culture and deep values. Lizzo Finally Settles Claims She Ripped Off One Of Her Biggest Songs

Lizzo has settled with the three songwriters who claimed she had lifted Truth Hurts from a demo they had created.

The singer has been in a legal battle with songwriters Justin and Jeremiah Raisen and Justin ‘Yves’ Rothman since October 2019.

The Raisens and Rothman accused Lizzo of lifting the “melody, lyrics, and chords” in “Truth Hurts” from “Healthy,” a demo they helped Lizzo create.

They claimed “Healthy” “evolved” in the final version of Truth Hurts, which was released in September 2017.

Lizzo sought “a judicial declaration” that they “did not co-author ‘Truth Hurts,’ and have no right to co-own that work or to share in its profits” in October 2019.

The three songwriters countersued Lizzo in 2020.

Later, U.S. District Judge Dolly M. Gee agreed with Lizzo’s claim that “a joint author of one copyrightable work does not automatically gain ownership of a derivative work in which the joint author had no hand in creating.”

Judge Gee added that the Raisens and Rothman themselves admitted ‘Healthy’ is a “standalone” song and not a demo for “Truth Hurts.”

On Friday, attorneys from both parties stated they had reached a settlement. The attorneys asked for “dismissal of the entire action without prejudice” according to Rolling Stone.

Both sides will be required to pay their own legal fees. Other details of the settlement have not been revealed.

Megan Thee Stallion Blames “Greedy Men” For Label War With 1501

Megan Thee Stallion blasted Carl Crawford and 1501 Certified Entertainment for countersuing her in a series of Twitter posts.

The Billboard chart-topping rapper lashed out after Crawford and 1501 filed a lawsuit against her on Monday (March 21). Megan Thee Stallion vented about her beef with the label, criticizing Crawford’s actions in particular.

“First the man over my label said I don’t make him any money,” she wrote. “now he counter suing trying to keep me on his label because he wants to make more money lol if I ain’t making you no money why not just drop me?”

She continued, “Let me gooo lol. Greedy ass men.”

Last month, Megan Thee Stallion sued 1501 after the label refused to acknowledge her Something For Thee Hotties project as an album. In a countersuit, 1501 claimed her release failed to meet the contractual requirements to be considered an album.

1501 says Megan Thee Stallion still owes the label two albums. She contends Something For Thee Hotties is an album, which means she’d fulfill her contract once she releases another project with a runtime of at least 45 minutes.

Megan Thee Stallion and 1501 have been at odds for the past two years. She’s previously accused Crawford of being a bully and suggested he doesn’t know what’s going on with his business. She called out his behavior again in her latest Twitter tirade about the label.

“My lawyers asked him for an expense report(money 1501 supposedly has spent on ME),” she wrote. “why this grown ass man put his jewelry and chains on there… lord free me from this joke ass label.”

She added, “I choose not to say nothing back abt court and address s### online but im getting tired of being painted the BAD GUY 2/47 the last girl on 1501 mad at this man too !”

Pusha T Disses McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish On Behalf Of Arby’s

Pusha T teamed up with Arby’s for a diss track aimed at McDonald’s. Yes, you read that correctly.

Arby’s released a Pusha T song trashing McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish on Monday (March 21). The unexpected diss serves as an ad campaign for Arby’s new spicy fish sandwich.

“I’m the reason the whole world love it, now I gotta crush it/Filet-O-Fish is s###, and you should be disgusted/How dare you sell a square fish asking us to trust it?/A half slice of cheese, Mickey D’s on a budget?/Arby’s crispy fish is simply it/With lines ’round the corner, we might need a guest list,” Pusha T raps.

Pusha T famously takes credit for creating the McDonald’s “I’m Lovin’ It” jingle, which he references in his diss. Although his claims have been disputed, the renowned rapper still insists he’s “solely responsible” for the jingle.

“I did it at a very young age at a very young time in my career where I wasn’t asking for as much money and ownership,” he told Rolling Stone in a new interview. “It’s something that’s always dug at me later in life like, ‘D#####, I was a part of this and I should have more stake.’ It was like half a million or a million dollars for me and my brother — but that’s peanuts for as long as that’s been running.”

Pusha T added, “I had to get that energy off me, and this [ad] was the perfect way to get that energy like, ‘You know what? I’m over it.’”
