EXCLUSIVE: JAY-Z To Court: Sanction Tony Buzbee For “Fairy Tale” Lawsuit

JAY-Z has issued a fiery response to allegations against him in a lawsuit filed by attorney Tony Buzbee, dismissing the claims as an elaborate construction of inaccuracies and insisting on financial sanctions against the lawyer.

The rapper and business mogul is seeking to have the lawsuit tossed out in federal court. He wants a judge to smack the Houston-based attorney with sanctions for what his legal team has depicted as a deliberate act of misconduct.

JAY-Z’S attorneys argue that the case — brought forth by an unnamed woman — lacks any basis in fact and fails to meet the minimum standards of legal due diligence.

JAY-Z’s high-profile attorney, Alex Spiro, delivered a pointed critique of Buzbee’s actions, asserting that the claims were riddled with verifiable falsehoods and devoid of substantive evidence.

“It was Mr. Buzbee’s responsibility to conduct a factual investigation into the allegations before he signed the complaint, not afterward,” Spiro fumed.

He further called for the court to impose monetary penalties on Buzbee and his firm, suggesting the attorney’s approach was predicated on sensationalism rather than truth.

The lawsuit centers on accusations from Jane Doe, who alleges she was assaulted at an afterparty following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards in New York City.

According to the complaint, the alleged incident occurred at a grand white mansion with a gated, U-shaped driveway.

However, JAY-Z’s latest legal filing dismantled this narrative, presenting documented evidence that places the rapper at the now-defunct Lotus nightclub in Manhattan during the same evening.

Public records corroborated by photographs show JAY-Z attending the famous hotspot that night, making the party described by Jane Doe highly improbable.

Adding to the contradictions in Jane Doe’s account is her claim of speaking with musician Benji Madden about his “Last Supper” tattoo during the party.

However, Madden is reported to have been in Chicago for a Good Charlotte performance on that date, a fact that could have been easily verified.

Another critical piece of the lawsuit, Jane Doe’s statement that she viewed the VMAs on a Jumbotron outside Radio City Music Hall before approaching limousine drivers to gain entry to an exclusive afterparty, has also been disputed.

According to city records, MTV was denied a permit for a Jumbotron that year, and police barricades prevented public access to limousines in the vicinity.

Spiro further highlighted that Jane Doe’s father, listed as a corroborating witness in her filing, denied recollection of pivotal events described in the lawsuit.

According to the father’s deposition, he has no memory of picking his daughter up from a gas station after the alleged assault — a central part of Jane Doe’s narrative.

The father said, “I feel like I would remember that, and I don’t… that’s something that would definitely stick in my mind.”

JAY-Z’s filing excoriated Buzbee for failing to vet such glaring inconsistencies.

His filing characterized this lack of corroboration as damning to the case’s overall credibility, noting the court should weigh heavily on such discrepancies when assessing the merits of the plaintiff’s claims.

In no uncertain terms, JAY-Z’s legal team portrayed Buzbee as a repeat offender who pursued unfounded high-profile cases for financial gain and media attention.

They pointed out that the lawyer has filed over 15 similar lawsuits against celebrities, including Sean “Diddy” Combs, accompanied by questionable tactics like launching 1-800 hotlines to drum up additional claims.

“attorneys should not be permitted to destroy a person’s reputation by alleging facts without a sufficient investigation or by failing to withdraw those allegations once it is clear that they are false or exceedingly unlikely to be true,” Alex Spiro said in his motion to have the case thrown out.

The court is now tasked with determining whether Buzbee’s actions warrant dismissal and penalties.

Pusha T’s Cryptic Instagram Move Has Clipse Fans Salivating

Pusha T caught his fans’ attention earlier this week, when he completely wiped his Instagram account.

Now, his 3.5 million followers can’t stop talking about the impending Clipse album, which they believe is imminent—especially with King Push’s latest social media move.

After a 15-year hiatus, Clipse—comprised of Pusha T and No Malice—have been working on their highly anticipated return, Let God Sort Em Out, via Def Jam Recordings.

The project is produced entirely by Pharrell Williams, who’s been instrumental in shaping their sound over the years. In fact, Pharrell’s involvement was a driving force behind the long awaited reunion, with No Malice noting in a 2024 interview, “Pharrell was pushing for this for a long time; the timing was right.”

The first single, “Birds Don’t Sing,” debuted at Pharrell’s Louis Vuitton show, offering fans a glimpse into the project’s direction. Additionally, Pusha T has confirmed that the album is complete, stating, “I’m so excited about this new Clipse album… It’s absolutely finished.”

While Pusha T has mainly focused on his solo career over the years, Clipse reunited in 2022 at Pharrell’s Something in the Water festival, marking their first time together onstage in over a decade.

“It’s always good to be on stage with my brother,” Malice said at the time. “It’s always good to relive those songs and just remember. It puts me in a time and a place where us and The Neptunes [Williams and producer Chad Hugo] were creating that music, being from Virginia and seeing that these things could really happen; that they were really tangible, you know?”

Pusha added, “Just the crowd and watching how they react to the music and how they still carry the same energy from ’02, ’06, ’09 when we made those songs and thought [they] were everything in the world to us. To see that 15, 20-plus years later, they’re still everything to everybody.”

But don’t expect to see Chad Hugo jumping on the project; he and Pharrell are currently at odds. In March 2024, Hugo filed a lawsuit against Pharrell, alleging he attempted to secure sole ownership of “The Neptunes” trademark without Hugo’s consent. Hugo claimed the move violated their longstanding agreement to split all assets equally.

Pharrell was reportedly caught off guard by the allegation and insisted he’d reached out multiple times to share ownership and administration of the trademark.

“Throughout their over 30 year history, [Hugo] and Williams agreed to, and in fact, have divided all assets,” Hugo’s attorney Kenneth D. Freundlich wrote in the filing. “By ignoring and excluding [Hugo] from the any and all applications filed by applicant for the mark ‘The Neptunes,’ applicant has committed fraud in securing the trademarks and acted in bad faith.”

Chlöe Bailey Breaks Silence On Burna Boy Romance Rumors

Chlöe Bailey and Burna Boy set social media alight last month after partying up a storm in Lago, Nigeria, during the Detty December celebrations.

Footage surfaced online showing them getting cozy in various hotspots, sparking viral dating rumors. While they provided a steady stream of headlines, neither Bailey nor Burna addressed the speculation.

However, the singer was forced to confront the gossip head-on during her appearance on The Breakfast Club Wednesday (January 8).

During a discussion about her recent NAACP Image Awards nomination, Chlöe Bailey was asked if Burna Boy is her date for the event.

“You’ll have to ask him,” she said, dodging the question.

Undeterred, the host continued to press her about the Afrobeats legend, but again, Bailey deflected.

“Nigeria was so beautiful,” she said, as the hosts erupted into laughter. “I had the best time.”

Bailey continued swerving the elephant in the room, talking about the food she ate and the nightlife. When asked directly if they’re in a relationship, Bailey refused to answer, saying “I’m a grown woman.”

Chlöe Bailey On Burna Boy Dating Other Women

The 26-year-old artist also insisted she hadn’t seen rumors of Burna with another woman after she left Lagos. “He’s a grown man,” she stated. “Just like I’m a grown woman.”

Bailey also opened up about dating under the intense scrutiny of the public eye.

“Honestly, I don’t mind,” she admitted. “I hate to say this, but it’s my life. It’s what I sign up for so I can only expect it. It’s just about how I handle it; how I handle myself. So I don’t think it should ever be pissy-ness towards the people who ask me.”

Drake Becomes Victim Of Misinformation

Drake has had a tough series of events that hit a crescendo late last year.

In November 2024, Drake initiated legal proceedings against Universal Music Group (UMG) over Kendrick Lamar’s diss track, “Not Like Us.” According to a pre-action petition (not an actual lawsuit), Drake accused the label and Spotify of artificially bolstering the diss record.

He also alleged that UMG had the power to block the track’s release but chose not to. I never got the reasoning since they went back and forth in the epic battle. Drake was mocked and people said he was just mad at Kendrick Lamar’s success. Some championed Drake since he seems to be now taking on the “evil music industry.”

TODAY…it seemed like somebody leaked some texts that had Drake explaining.

I don’t know Chris Blake Griffith, but he’s the person that leaked these texts. In a now-deleted screenshot, Drake explained that his battle with Universal is aimed at protecting future artists.

“Me and Universal is like if Nike was funding a campaign about LeBron cheating on his wife..Not Adidas or Reebok… Nike, the company he’s been with since the start. My situation is not no street sh#t,” the texts read.

The only thing is…the texts were fake.

Fake Drake elaborated, “Everybody before me who tried to take on the label was too eccentric, so they got written off as crazy. The label never had to pay for their sins and mistakes. I’m going to change that and make the building a safer place for every artist moving forward.”

The internet went crazy, calling Drake all types of names. The only thing is, it just wasn’t him. I wonder who created this calamity.

The battle continues in 2025 and it could very well be legal. But it won’t be due to these fake texts.

Cardi B Accused Of Career Sabotage By Tasha K Amid $3.4M Defamation Judgment

Tasha K is firing back at Cardi B, claiming she’s trying to sabotage her blogging career after the rapper accused the YouTube personality of hiding money to avoid paying the $3.4 million judgment against her.

Cardi B won a defamation lawsuit in January 2022 after Tasha K alleged the rapper was a prostitute, used drugs, and had contracted sexually transmitted diseases.

Cardi B previously asked a judge to toss out Tasha K’s bankruptcy case, arguing she’s hiding offshore accounts not disclosed in her initial Chapter 11 filing. She also accused her of transferring assets to her husband.

Furthermore, Cardi claims Tasha K is still living “life in luxury,” flaunting her wealth on social media despite telling the court she’s broke.

However, the 42-year-old gossip blogger alleges the “Jealousy” hitmaker “tried to bully her financially,” according to a TMZ report. The outlet also says Tasha K believes Cardi B wants to “sabotage her career” by tying any debt settlement to a sweeping restriction on her freedom to speak openly on her blogs and social media platforms.

In her filing, Tasha K urges the court to keep the case alive, arguing that she deserves the opportunity to propose her own repayment plan to the bankruptcy court.

A judge has yet to rule on the matter.

Meanwhile, in other Cardi B news, the Grammy-winning artist has sworn off dating following another very public spat with estranged husband Offset.

She previously promised to drop her long-awaited sophomore album in 2025 and claimed this year will be her best yet.

“My album will be out, my secret businesses will be out,” she said last November. “I can’t tell you what I’m working on. Hopefully next year I get me a little boyfriend; I’m hoe-less right now. I gotta get my s### together.”

“i refuse to believe y’all don’t know flo rida,” said one befuddled fans. “You probably heard his songs, just didn’t know it was him. bro has been making BANGERZ for more than a decade now c’mon.”

Another questioned, “Have yall ever been to a club….a concert…..prom…. middle school dance”

A third person quoted one us Flo Rida’s most well-known songs, writing “This is the man that sings SHAWTY HAD THEM APPLE BOTTOM JEANSS BOOTS WITH THE FURRRR THE WHOLE CLUB WAS LOOKIN AT HERRRR.”

A different user shared a screen shot showing billions of Spotify streams, writing simply, “oh woah”

Flo Rida’s “Confessions” is set to drop this Friday, January 10.

Kanye West Rips adidas & Designer Jerry Lorenzo: “I Am Here To Dominate”

Kanye West may have settled his legal disputes with adidas, but his gripe with his former business partner is far from over.

On Tuesday night (January 7), Ye took to Instagram with a lengthy post slamming the sportswear giant, alleging it’s attempting to undermine his Yeezy brand. He also fired at Fear of God founder Jerry Lorenzo and other designers he accuses of copying him.

West began his post by complaining that adidas is overshadowing Yeezy in the Google search results.

“Stop doing this,” he wrote. “Your moves to hold me back Our partnership is done.”

He blasted the “60 billion dollar company that froze my accounts,” insisting, “I’m not going to stand for this,” now that he’s back on his feet.

“I did phenomenal work for you guys,” West added. “Because I stood up for myself yall tried to intimidate and oppress me.”

Ye further alleged that he had “major issues with adidas because of design theft and oppression.” He claims these struggles predate his antisemitic tweet and the ensuing controversy, including his legal battle with the brand.

Kanye West Blasts Jerry Lorenzo Over adidas Collab

Kanye West then turned his attention to Jerry Lorenzo, calling him “corny and disloyal” for working with adidas amid his dispute with the brand.

“I still showed up to his show that was a copy of my Hollywood bowl show being the so called bigger man,” he stated. “But I’m never doing that again for no one.”

West also called out “friends” with “agendas” using him to “promote they weak ass fake Yeezy lines.” While repeatedly referring to himself as “the king,” Ye declared, “it’s Yeezy over everything.”

“Now they banished,” he asserted. “NO MORE HUGS Yeezy over everything.”

He continued, stating, “I am here to dominate as I always have,” arguing, “The Yeezy $20 dollar price is burning the game to the ground.”

West claimed “The Yeezy.com site made 100 million dollars,” in six months last year.

“People wanted to make me believe that I couldn’t do this on my own,” he concluded. “It’s Yeezy for the people Everything else was in the way.”

Kanye West’s post arrived just two months after adidas CEOBjorn Gulden announced the company resolved its legal battle against Kanye West. According to Gulden, they settled out of court with no money exchanged.

Meanwhile, Jerry Lorenzo who stopped working with West in 2016, remarked last year that a relationship with the multi hyphenate rapper is “a tough relationship to hold on to.”

Twitter Fries Asian Doll Over Greasy Remark On Fivio Foreign & Lil Tjay’s Livestream Weed Scandal

Asian Doll is once again being roasted on Twitter over one of her patently outspoken—and often out of turn—remarks.

The late King Von’s ex exchanged words with multiple users on the app after many had a lot to say following Fivio Foreign and Lil Tjay appearance on producer/engineer Plaque Boy Max’s livestream.

In particular, Asian Doll went off on a number of individuals who attempted to chastise her for sticking up for the pair of rappers. They were caught being disrespectful and blowing smoke in Max’s face after he repeatedly asked them to stop smoking because they were in a short term rental.

“Don’t invite rappers if they can’t smoke !!” Asian Doll exclaimed in the tweet.

When a user replied, “It’s called respect tho,” all hell broke loose.

“It’s called tell us we can’t smoke before we come & I bet we give you all the respect by not coming,” She replied swiftly.

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

Another user attempted to check Asian Doll over the remark, writing a reply in the thread which read, “Matter fact ill give somebody $100 rn they name 5 asian doll songs [crying laughing emojis] dead homies.”

In a similarly shady remark, Asian Doll wrote back, attempting to shame the individual for picking on her because she’s a girl.

“Boy get yo gay ass on [crying laughing emoji] my d*ck like you a hoe or some cause I said some to another n*gga punk ass boy!” She wrote before adding, “Go pay that 100 for some bullets to beef with a n*gga & not a b*tch you lame ass n*gga”

It’s somewhat surprising Asian Doll is willing to die on this hill, considering he once called her a liar on the same platform years ago. In 2022, the Brooklyn-bred drill rapper alleged she was lying about him on social media after she bragged that he told her to take her ski mask off because she was so pretty.

“I had my ski mask on at the bowling alley fivio gone say take that sht off & show that pretty face we wanna see that sht,” she wrote in a tweet.

Fivio almost immediately responded, denying her claim with an awkward and somewhat backhanded compliment attached to the remark.

“Wtf.. Wat type ov lie is dat,” Fivio wrote in a quoted reply the tweet. “She da homie for sure.. but I gotta gurl.. Yu kno I ain’t moving like dat.”

We Heard What Vybz Kartel Thinks But Does WWE Believe Drake Won Kendrick Lamar Beef?

It seems there are a few loud voices among the majority, namely Vybz Kartel and well-known professional wrestling veteran Kofi Kingston, who believe Drake got the best of Kendrick Lamar during their rap battle last year.

Why does what they’re saying right now matter more than six months after the first shots were fired in the battle between the two rap titans? Mainly because they’re shouting their opinions from the proverbial mountain tops between two of the biggest communication channels within pop culture: media and sports (to an extent).

In case you missed it, more than 17,000 fans gathered at the newly constructed Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California to be apart of the live broadcast of WWE “Monday Night Raw” on Netflix. Along with Hulk Hogan getting booed by thousands of attendees, wrestlers Xavier Woods and Kingston egged the crowd on to indirectly heckle the “Not Like Us” hitmaker in his own backyard.

“Think about it, for what, the past six months, y’all have been elevating this trash rapper, Kendrick Lamar?” Xavier Woods said. Kingston piggybacked off of Woods, saying, “Boo him [Kendrick Lamar] we think he sucks too, boo him!”

“Yes, yes! Boo him!” he said. “So you’re not mad at us, you’re mad at Kendrick Lamar because Drake won the beef, right?”

Additionally, Vybz Kartel dropped a bombshell pulled quote in his recent interview with Billboard in which he appeared to pull a Mariah Carey when asked about Kendrick Lamar.

“I’m not a fan of Kendrick,” he said. “I don’t even listen to Kendrick, so I wouldn’t know. What does he rap? I saw it on the Internet, but no disrespect to the dude, I hear him, but I don’t listen to him.”

As Kartel continued, he told Billboard, “Drake is a better and bigger artist. Drake is more in tune with Jamaica and the culture,” he added.

The most ironic thing about these two public slights against Kendrick Lamar has to be that they follow the rumored Drake leak in which the Toronto rapper appears to shrug the beef off as a low priority item on his to-do list.

Hollywood Hulk Hogan Booed Out the Building at Netflix’s “Monday Night Raw”

Dear, Hulkster,

We don’t love you no mo’, OK?

Hollywood Hulk Hogan did NOT get the hero’s welcome he was probably expecting last night. The 71-year-old WWE legend made a surprise appearance this week at Netflix’s “Monday Night Raw” in Los Angeles. The old cow got hit with a tsunami of boos. My boy eventually just left the building.

The Hulkster came out to a song called Real American,” rocking a shirt that did not discourage the rumors that he’s a raging racist. Pulling up with old manger Jimmy Hart, you’d think the crowd would’ve loved the vibe. Nope.

The moment Hogan stepped to the mic, 18,000 boos rained on him. He tried to gas up the fans by saying they were his “greatest tag team partner.”

“You, the fans, have been my greatest tag team partner because you guys have stuck with me through thick and thin, dudes,” Hogan said.

NAH! They know you, brother! We remember everything you did, punk. Nobody’s forgiving or forgetting.

It was not even his night. It was Netflix’s evening anyway. The Netflix era of WWE is off to a wild start. So, we’ll mark this one down in the history books. It’s a brand-new day for sports entertainment, and the digital streets are talking.

The premiere was nothing short of legendary.

John Cena, The Rock, “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, Bianca Belair, Logan Paul and others showed up. The action was crazy and this will be a weekly thing for Netflix now. Netflix and WWE are officially in the ring together. For the first time in 31 years, WWE Raw is now streaming live—every week—exclusively on Netflix.

U.S., Canada, U.K. and Latin America are on the list of nations able to see it. Other regions are coming soon. Stay tuned. I heard the NFL is next, but you didn’t hear that from us!

Oh, wait…yes. you did!

Beat it, Hulk! There are no more Hulkamaniacs!

Boldy James & RichGains Drop Ominous “Murder During Drug Traffic (MDDT)” Album

Detroit rapper Boldy James has unveiled his latest mixtape, Murder During Drug Traffic (MDDT). The project continues his prolific output of music. The project offers a diverse range of sounds and narratives across its runtime. Early reactions from fans and listeners have been divided. Give it a listen and tell us what you think in the comments.

The mixtape opens with a strong start. Tracks like “Mixed Drinks” delve into personal themes that highlight Boldy’s introspective lyricism. “Janky” has the Detroit native comparing himself to Slick Rick “without the eyepatch.” Some of the critiques hinge on the production and mixes. Is this a stylistic choice or what? Either way, the noticeable sound difference has proven distracting to average listeners.

Despite the divided response, Boldy’s lyrical talent shines throughout the mixtape. As MDDT continues to be heard by more, we’ll see if the reception pans out. For now, enjoy the music.

Trey Songz Pleads With Judge, Claims $11M Judgment “Will Ruin His Life”

Trey Songz is pleading with a judge not to enforce a “devastating” $11 Million default judgment awarded in a battery lawsuit.

Last November, a judge ruled Songz must pay more than $11 million in damages to Maryland Capitol police officer Tyrelle Dunn, who claims he was injured while trying to rescue his wife from Songz’s Las Vegas hotel room in November 2021.

A post shared by Christopher Onixx (@calionixx)

However, according to a motion filed by the embattled singer’s legal team, both the lawsuit and the multi-million-dollar judgment came as a surprise to Trey Songz, per In Touch

The filing asserts that Dunn did not properly serve the summons and complaint, and Songz only learned of the lawsuit on November 27, 2024, “after news broke about Dunn’s default judgment.”

Songz’s attorney says the singer “deserves to have his day in court to defend himself,” adding that enforcing the judgment “will be devastating to [Trey Songz] and will ruin his life.”

Trey Songz staunchly denies the allegations. His attorney referenced the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s months-long criminal investigation.

“They separated witnesses and took their statements, confiscated mobile phones, and obtained a search warrant of [Songz’s] DNA and other evidence, the filing reads in part. “Over the next several months, the police conducted a thorough criminal investigation and found no wrongdoing by [Songz]. The District Attorney’s office did not file any charges.”

Meanwhile, Dunn reportedly urged the court to reject the singer’s request to overturn the default judgment. His lawyers argued the process server had properly served Songz.

A judge has yet to rule on the matter.

Will Smith Causes Online Chaos With “Matrix” Post

Will Smith ignited a frenzy online Monday (January 6) with a cryptic Instagram video suggesting links to The Matrix franchise, only for sources to later quash speculation that the actor will be joining the fifth installment of the sci-fi series.

The brief video, styled in the signature green-on-black lettering of The Matrix, featured a series of loaded messages typed across a screen.

One read, “In 1997, the Wachowskis offered Will Smith the role of Neo in The Matrix. Smith turned it down. He chose Wild Wild West, believing it was a better fit for him at the time. But the question remains: What would The Matrix have been like with Will Smith as Neo?”

A post shared by Will Smith (@willsmith)

As that message faded, another appeared: “Wake up, Will… The Matrix has you…”

The uncaptioned post quickly sent fans into a speculative spiral, with some theorizing the Men in Black star would appear as an alternate Neo in the upcoming film. Others wondered if Smith was teasing a related project like an ad campaign or musical endeavor.

Despite the excitement, both Variety and The Hollywood Reporter confirmed through their sources that Smith is not involved in the fifth Matrix movie.

Warner Bros. had announced plans for the next chapter of The Matrix in 2022, with Drew Goddard, known for Bad Times at the El Royale, set to write and direct.

As the first entry not helmed by Lana and Lilly Wachowski, the project will see Lana Wachowski taking on an executive producer role.

The Matrix originally premiered in 1999, with Keanu Reeves cast as Neo, a part the Wachowskis had first offered to Smith.

Reeves led the franchise to massive cultural and cinematic acclaim, returning for three sequels: The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions in 2003, and The Matrix Resurrections in 2021.

Smith, meanwhile, pivoted to the 1999 Western-themed sci-fi film Wild Wild West. Despite its star-studded cast and hefty budget, the movie underperformed at the box office and was panned by critics.

Will Smith has yet to clarify the intent behind his enigmatic post, leaving fans debating what’s next for the Oscar-winning actor.

Ice Spice Offers Interesting Excuse For Disastrous New Year’s Eve Show

Rapper Ice Spice faced backlash at Australia’s Wildlands Festival on New Year’s Eve after showing up nearly 30 minutes behind schedule and delivering a truncated set, leaving fans frustrated and underwhelmed.

The Bronx native hit the stage in Brisbane at 10:55 p.m., missing most of her allotted 10:30–11:00 p.m. slot.

With time running out due to the festival’s tight curfews, she managed to perform just two tracks, “Deli” and “Princess Diana,” before her microphone was reportedly cut mid-performance of “In Ha Mood” at 11:01 p.m., making for an abrupt and unceremonious exit.

Witnesses described the atmosphere as tense, with fans visibly disappointed by the short-lived set.

Podcaster Brenton Larney alleged that Ice Spice appeared unfazed by the debacle, noting her laughter as she stepped off the stage and seemingly dismissing a fan’s gesture of presenting her with a bouquet of flowers.

The rapper turned 25 on January 1 and later addressed the controversy during her next stop at the festival’s leg in Perth.

Acknowledging the issue, she spoke directly to her fans.

“I’m sorry guys. Surely y’all can forgive me,” she was quoted as saying. She added, “It was my birthday, and it takes a long time to look like a Barbie.”

The audience’s mood reportedly lightened as she kicked off her performance with “Barbie World,” her track with Nicki Minaj.

Organizers of Wildlands Festival eventually broke their silence, explaining the difficult decision to cut Ice Spice’s performance short.

In an Instagram statement, they cited the event’s rigid schedule as a necessity to ensure the midnight New Year’s countdown act started on time.

“We understand that Ice Spice’s delayed arrival caused some disappointment,” their statement read. “Managing a stacked festival means that we have to be extremely firm with set times.”

Foolio Murder: Fifth Suspect Arrested After Six-Month Manhunt

The fifth person suspected in connection with the murder of Foolio has been apprehended after over six months on the run.

27-year-old Davion Murphy is now in custody following his arrest in Jacksonville, bringing a six-month-long manhunt to an end, per Fox 13.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported that Murphy was apprehended at a Jacksonville apartment complex with assistance from its gang unit and the U.S. Marshals Service. He was subsequently booked into the Duval County Pre-Trial Detention Facility.

Authorities have been pursuing Davion Murphy since June 23, 2024, in connection with the fatal shooting of rapper Foolio, which they describe as a meticulously planned ambush rooted in long-standing gang rivalries.

Prosecutors claim Davion Murphy and four other suspects, Rashad Murphy, 30, Isaiah Chance, 21, Alicia Andrews, 21, and Sean Gathright, 18, stalked Foolio through Tampa before ambushing him at a Holiday Inn.

Suspected shooters, the Murphys and Gathright, allegedly gunned down Foolio using two AR-style rifles and a Glock pistol. Surveillance video captured the gunmen firing at the rapper in the hotel parking lot.

Foolio was pronounced dead at the scene, while three others sustained injuries in the barrage of gunfire.

Authorities accuse Chance and Andrews of being “lookouts,” claiming they trailed the rapper to two strip clubs where Foolio was celebrating his 26th birthday on June 22.

The first four suspects arrested face first-degree murder charges and are being held without bond. Davion Murphy is scheduled to appear in court on January 7.

T.I. Pushes To Keep $53M In Punitive Damages Originally Awarded In O.M.G. Girlz Lawsuit

Clifford “T.I.” Harris is pushing a California federal judge to reconsider his decision to axe the $53.4 million originally awarded to the Harrises in their long-standing legal battle between toy giant MGA Entertainment and O.M.G. Girlz, the pop group co-owned/founded by the Harris family.

On Monday (January 6), AllHipHop obtained a legal document which revealed the initial $71.4 million in compensatory damages awarded to the Harris family and the O.M.G Girlz in 2024 would be reduced to $17.8 million. However, the court has yet to finalize its decision regarding punitive damages, which could potentially restore a significant portion of the original award.

“There’s a lot to contemplate. I want to put this down for a couple days, and I want to come back to it fresh from the top,” the judge said.

As previously reported, Judge James V. Selna tenatively revised ruling grants the O.M.G. Girlz $17,872,252 under common law misappropriation, but it declines to award punitive damages or enhance the award under the Lanham Act. T.I. and Tiny Harris originally filed the lawsuit in 2020, alleging that MGA’s line of L.O.L. Surprise! O.M.G. Dolls unlawfully profited from the OMG Girlz’s name, likeness and unique trade dress.

According to a Law360 report, the Harris families legal team team contended MGA’s failure to investigate allegations of infringement following a cease-and-desist letter in 2020 demonstrated willfulness and fraud. John R. Keville, an attorney for the Harris family, highlighted evidence presented to the jury, including testimony that one of MGA’s doll designers was a fan of the O.M.G. Girlz and had the group featured on her Pinterest board. Keville argued this evidence supported the jury’s finding of malice, fraud, or oppression, making the $53 million punitive damages award justified.

“Jurors heard evidence of MGA’s misrepresentations about when it first became aware of the OMG Girlz, as well as its failure to investigate infringement accusations,” Keville stated a court hearing.

MGA’s counsel, Mark Finkelstein, defended the tentative ruling, arguing the court has discretion over whether to adopt or reject advisory verdicts. Finkelstein maintained that while MGA may not have adequately responded to the cease-and-desist letter, negligence does not amount to intentional deception. He also contended that attributing profits from the O.M.G. Dolls line to the OMG Girlz lacked sufficient evidence.

“The Harrises have only produced consumer testimony to demonstrate attributability, but MGA has presented substantial evidence showing not every customer purchased the dolls due to perceived resemblance to the OMG Girlz,” Finkelstein argued.

The ongoing case marks a third trial in the dispute between the Harris family, the O.M.G Girlz and MGA, following the reversal of earlier rulings. Last September, a federal jury awarded $17.8 million in compensatory damages and $53.6 million in punitive damages, determining that MGA’s infringement was willful. The OMG Girlz, founded by Tiny, gained fame for their colorful and distinctive aesthetic, which the group alleges MGA mimicked in its doll designs.

Post Malone Changes Single Mother’s Life With Huge Christmas Tip

A Houston bartender received an unexpected blessing on Christmas Eve when Grammy-nominated artist Post Malone left a $20,000 tip, a gesture she says has transformed her life.

Renee Brown, a 29-year-old single mother to a nine-year-old daughter, was serving drinks at The Railyard when the Hip-Hop/Rock star, whose real name is Austin Post, walked into the bar.

While the visit alone was memorable, it became life-altering when the musician handed her a massive tip.

“Going into work Christmas Eve, I was so sad I had to leave my baby girl to go to work,” Brown told Music Mayhem. “Oblivious that God would send me a Christmas miracle. This is hands down the most humble, personable celebrity I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. He changed my life on Christmas f**king Eve, and will forever be grateful. Thank you so much, Austin.”

Brown explained that the money would help her catch up on rent, buy a reliable way to get to work, and even start saving for a future business venture.

“This put me in a position to at least be able to get a way back and forth to work and pay up on rent and save a bit,” she shared. “I’m trying to save up to start a business, so I don’t have to continue working two jobs and be able to spend more time with my daughter.”

Though overwhelmed by the heartwarming gift, Brown says it has inspired her to push forward after years of challenges.

“Things have been extremely difficult, and this was truly a blessing that I can’t fully put into words. The visit alone was absolutely amazing and something I could talk about and remember for the rest of my life,” she said.

Just a day later, Post Malone delighted fans in another surprise appearance during Beyoncé’s halftime show at the Texans-Ravens Christmas Day game, where they performed their chart-topper “Levii’s Jeans.”

Mad Skillz Talks Grammy-Nominated Album, Hip-Hop Origins & Collaborations

Mad Skillz, often just called Skillz, is up for a 2025 Grammy. His new spoken word, The Seven Number Ones, chronicles the special moments in his life, from his parents’ meeting to his introduction to Hip-Hop. The album features collaborations with celebrated artists Raheem DeVaughn, Lalah Hathaway, and James Poyser.

In the DJ Thoro-led interview, Skillz highlights the grind of bringing Virginia Hip-Hop to the front, battling in New York to working with legends like Clark Kent and Timberland. Skillz also reveals his ghostwriting journey, which began by accident. In the video, he recalls being washed by Nas on a track. He also talks about “ghostwriting” for Jay-Z, but you have to watch the video to get the full context. (Wink, wink!)

When it is all said and done, Skillz is full of gratitude. His career has allowed him to live on his terms, in a most authentic way – with passion.

AllHipHop: Let’s talk about your new album, The Seven Number Ones. What inspired the title?

Skillz: It’s a spoken-word poetry album about seven pivotal moments in my life that changed its direction. Each song represents a “first,” like my parents meeting, the first time I heard hip-hop, the first time I fell in love, and more.

AllHipHop: That’s unique. And it’s Grammy-nominated! How does that feel?

Skillz: It feels amazing. This is my first Grammy nomination, and it’s extra special because I created it with my friends and collaborators from Virginia. If I win, we’re all winning together.

AllHipHop: The album feels more like a storybook than a typical album. Was that intentional?

Skillz: Absolutely. I wanted to create something personal and timeless. It’s about my journey, even down to how I got my name, “Mad Skillz.”

AllHipHop: Speaking of your name, how did you get it?

Skillz: Funny story. I was rapping over a Mobb Deep instrumental at an open mic, and someone in the crowd said, “He got mad skills!” I never met that person, but they gave me my name. If you’re out there, reveal yourself—I owe you!

AllHipHop: You’ve been vocal about how hip-hop changed your life. What does the culture mean to you?

Skillz: Everything. Hip-hop gave me identity, purpose, and a way to provide for my family. It’s more than music—it’s a lifestyle that shaped who I am.

AllHipHop: Breaking into hip-hop from Virginia must’ve been challenging. What was that like?

Skillz: It was tough. VA wasn’t known for Hip-Hop back then, so I had to travel to New York constantly—battles, open mics, and pitching tapes to labels. Winning the 1993 Superman World Supremacy Battle changed everything. That’s when the labels started calling.

AllHipHop: Who were some key figures that helped you early on?

Skillz: Clark Kent was instrumental. Even though I came in second at the battle, Clark saw my potential. He let me crash on his couch, helped me structure my bars, and taught me how to refine my craft.

AllHipHop: You’ve worn many hats in hip-hop: rapper, DJ, producer, and ghostwriter. How did you get into ghostwriting?

Skillz: By accident! A DJ overheard a track I was working on and wanted to use my hook. I didn’t even know what publishing splits were back then, but when the check came, I realized there was a whole business side to it. Word spread, and that’s how I became a ghostwriter.

AllHipHop: You even made a track about ghostwriting. What inspired that?

Skillz: It was a bit of fun but also a message. Ghostwriting is about discretion, and I made more money staying quiet than I ever would’ve by talking. It’s about respect and professionalism.

AllHipHop: How do you feel about the current state of Hip-Hop?

Skillz: I think we’ve lost some originality and balance. Today, it feels like many artists chase trends instead of being true to themselves. Back in the day, Hip-Hop was about individuality. We had choices and diversity in music that I feel is missing now.

AllHipHop: What’s your advice to younger artists?

Skillz: Be yourself. If you’re into anime and Jordans, make music about that. Don’t feel pressured to follow trends or portray something you’re not.

AllHipHop: Who are your favorite lyricists?

Skillz: Rakim, Black Thought, Nas, Ice Cube—those guys have incredible pen games. Cube especially, because he can transition from writing songs to scripts seamlessly.

AllHipHop: You’ve done so much in your career. What’s next?

Skillz: I’m focused on continuing to evolve. Winning this Grammy would be a huge milestone, but more than that, I want to keep creating art that resonates and inspires.

AllHipHop: Last question—if you could collaborate with any artist, dead or alive, who would it be?

Skillz: Michael Jackson, without a doubt. No one has ever matched his impact. We’ll never see another artist like him.

AllHipHop: Thanks for your time, Skillz. Any final words for the fans?

Skillz: Follow me @SkillzVA on all platforms. Check out The Seven Number Ones, and if you’re part of the Grammy voting community, give it a listen. Thank you for the love and support!

Judge Tentatively Axes $53.6M From T.I. & Tiny Harris’ Original O.M.G. Girlz Doll Settlement

T.I. and Tiny Harris may be headed to court again on behalf of their daughter after a judge revised the verdict handed down last year.

In a significant update to the long-running legal battle between MGA Entertainment and Clifford “T.I.” Harris, Tameka “Tiny” Harris and the O.M.G. Girlz LLC, a judge has amended the ruling to award the OMG Girlz $17.8 million versus the $71.4 million they were originally awarded.

According to Law360, the jury determined seven of the company’s O.M.G. Dolls infringed the trade dress and misappropriated the name, likeness or identity of the OMG Girlz pop group T.I. co-owns. To be specific, the court had npw granted the Harris family and the O.M.G. Girlz $17,872,252. In a court doucment obtained by AllHipHop, the revision was reportedly based on profits and common law misappropriation.

“Upon consideration of the evidence the Court grants disgorgement of profits of $17, 872,252 under common law misappropriations, but doesn not award punitive damages. Further, the Court declines to disgorge profits or enhance the award under the Laham act,” the document read.

T.I. and Tiny Harris, who filed the lawsuit against MGA Entertainment in 2020, claimed the dollmaker unlawfully profited from designs and concepts tied to their girl group, the O.M.G. Girlz. The group, founded by Tiny Harris, had a unique and colorful aesthetic, which they alleged was directly reflected in MGA’s line of dolls.

Earlier this year after the original verdict in the case was ruled, Tiny spoke about how the lawsuit represented much more than a legal win for the group during an Instagram Livestream outside the courthouse.

“We did this for the city, we did this for the culture,” a jubilant Tiny began. “It was a hell of a fight. This fight been started in 2020 and it’s now ‘24; we couldn’t be more happy.”

She also expressed her gratitude to the jury for believing their story. “I honestly wanted to come on here to say we wanted to thank the jurors for just seeing us through this man and just believing in what we said,” she added. “They heard our story and they knew we wasn’t lying.”
