Beyoncé continues to cement her name in history. The Le Petit Larousse Illustré encyclopedic dictionary will also immortalize the 32-time Grammy Award winner.
According to reports, Beyoncé has been added to the French-language reference source. She was among 40 people included as 2024 entries for Le Petit Larousse, alongside celebrities such as LeBron James and Christopher Nolan.
Beyoncé’s mother, Celestine “Tina” Beyoncé Knowles-Lawson, has Louisiana Creole heritage. That ethnic group has a close connection to the French language. Knowles-Lawson’s father’s birth name was Lumis Albert Beyincé.
“My daddy Alabama, momma Louisiana. You mix that negro with that Creole, make a Texas bama,” Bey sang on her 2016 single “Formation” off the Lemonade LP. “Formation” peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
2024 has been another monumental year for Queen Bey. Her country music-coded Cowboy Carter studio album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 407,000 first-week units. The “Texas Hold ‘Em” also single hit No. 1.
The inclusion of Beyoncé in Le Petit Larousse Illustré sparked a response from the America-based reference book publisher Merriam-Webster. The company quote-tweeted a post about Le Petit Larousse and added, “[Be right back] calling an emergency meeting.”
A lot of Hip-Hop figures have given their opinion about the ongoing feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Dame Dash has shared his thoughts on the clash too.
Kendrick Lamar’s “euphoria” lit the rap world on fire. The Compton-bred MC’s lyrical takedown of Drake has trended on social media for days and dominated streaming platforms.
Dame Dash decided to weigh in on K. Dot versus Drizzy while appearing on America Nu Network’s Chopping It Up show. The native New Yorker sided with Lamar after the latest round in the battle.
“He snuffed Drake. He swung on him and no one was expecting it,” Dash stated about Kendrick Lamar’s diss track. “In boxing, if you don’t see a punch coming, pause, that’s what will knock you out.”
Dame Dash also said, “When I first heard it, I didn’t like it. Like when I first was listening to it, but then I started hearing the words and what he was doing, I was like, ‘Nah, this s### is kinda ill.”
During his days with Roc-A-Fella Records, Dash had an up-close view of two Hip-Hop GOAT contenders going to war. Fellow Roc founding father Jay-Z’s clash with Nas went public in 2001.
While Dame Dash gave Kendrick Lamar his flowers for the “euphoria” record, former Roc-A-Fella artist Cam’ron has taken the opposing side. The It Is What It Is podcaster declared Drake the winner.
Mariah The Scientist has been accused of attacking a woman at Atlanta’s Cavo Kitchen & Cocktails lounge on March 28. Local police arrested the 26-year-old singer born Mariah Amani Buckles.
According to reports, Cleopatra Dues claimed Mariah The Scientist grabbed her by the wig unprovoked. The woman also allegedly suffered minor scratches on her feet.
Authorities took Buckles into custody on May 1 and charged her with battery and simple battery. The To Be Eaten Alive album creator exited the Fulton County jail later that day on bond.
Mariah The Scientist has released numerous songs, including 2020’s “Always n Forever” featuring Lil Baby. Additionally, she appeared on projects by YoungBoy Never Broke Again and 21 Savage.
The former St. John’s University student also became headline news for dating currently incarcerated rapper Jeffery “Young Thug” Williams. The YSL leader faces RICO-related charges in Georgia.
“It’s almost like jail solidified our relationship,” Mariah The Scientist stated in October 2023. “I’m willing to wait it out because I feel like he’s the one. If I didn’t really see that in him, I probably wouldn’t.”
Willow Smith is reflecting on being the child of famous parents and the insecurities that come with being labeled a “nepo baby,” a notion she rejects for multiple reasons.
As the daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow has carved out her own lane as a musician with an eclectic style. However, she still feels pressure to defy the nepotism stigma which leads to negative thoughts.
Willow Smith Believes She’d Still be “A Weirdo” Without Famous Parents
During an interview with Allure, Willow explained she hears voices telling her she’s a fraud who will never be good enough and only has a career because of her famous family.
However, Willow understands “I’m wrongly internalizing the negativity from the outside,” and sees beyond her insecurities. “Even if my parents weren’t who they were, I would still be a weirdo and a crazy thinker,’ she added.
Furthermore, Willow believes the “nepo baby” stigma motivated her to work even harder although she now feels she has nothing to prove.
Ultimately, Willow Smith rejects nepotism allegations because being a Black woman in America doesn’t allow for exemptions. She recounted past experiences where people treated her like she didn’t belong, even when her picture hung on their walls. Willow acknowledged her privileged position but added that Blackness is a unifying factor.
“Being Black in America, even with privilege, which I’m never going to deny that I have, you’re still Black,” she explained.
“I love being Black,” Willow declared. ”People would look at me and [say], ‘Okay, well, her parents are this and this and that, but she still is like me. She still has brown skin.’ And we all know that that doesn’t exempt you from anything, and that’s a place of connection.”
Meanwhile, Willow Smith has had a few days. On Friday (May 3) the 24-year-old dropped her sixth solo studio album empathogen. Earlier this week, NPR shared Willow’s Tiny Desk Concert. Watch it below.
Chrisean Rock continues to stand beside her man during his incarceration, taking their son to Blueface’s latest court hearing.
The Compton native was jailed earlier this year for a probation violation and is reportedly behind bars until July. The controversial couple apparently reconciled shortly before Blue handed himself in and have been rebuilding their relationship while he’s been locked up.
On Tuesday (April 2), Blueface appeared in court and Chrisean Rock brought their baby son with her to the hearing. She took to Instagram after court revealing that the judge allowed Blue to hold Chrisean Rock Jr. For the first time in months.
“I stood in the back with the baby,” she said during an IG Live chat explaining the judge permitted her to stand there the last time she was in court. “So this time it was like a full circle. I could tell she noticed that my son got bigger or something because she looked at us, smiled.”
She continued, explaining the judge invited her to bring her son to Blueface, surprising them both. “He was just holding the baby, and I was just like holding him. I didn’t know if I should kiss him or what. I don’t know what I wasn’t allowed to do to him.”
Chrisean Rock then became overcome with emotion, breaking down after recounting how much Blueface’s appearance changed during his time in jail.
“I ain’t tryna come on here crying and s### but I miss my baby daddy. Y’all can call it jail talk, call it whatever … We past that,” Rock stated.
Meanwhile, Chrisean Rock is gearing up for a big day this weekend. She plays her first football game as running back for The Cali War on Saturday May 4.
Cardi B declared that “men are dogs” and will mate with anybody put in front of them.
The “Like What” hitmaker took to Instagram Live on Thursday (April 2) to share her take on dating.
“I believe that men are dogs,” Cardi B began before explaining why men aren’t compared to other animals. According to Cardi, the comparison is justified because dogs are not exclusive and will mate with other breeds.
“Because let me tell you about a dog. A dog f#### anything. He could be a pitbull and he’s going to f### chihuahua. Real life dogs, you could put them in a cage with any type of animal and they’re going to f### all of them. That’s why men get compared to dogs because they just don’t give a f###.”
However, Cardi B placed the onus on women for putting up with it. “I can’t even be mad at the men,’ she added. “But us women … like what are we doing?”
Cardi B’s comments come amid rumors she and husband Offset have reconciled. The couple announced their separation last year following months of cheating rumors. However, since then they have been frequently spotted together.
Earlier this week fans speculated the Hip-hop supercouple rekindled their romance. They enjoyed a courtside date watching the New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden.
Cardi B Claims ” Y’all Need Shaming”
Meanwhile Cardi B’s “men are dogs” conversation stemmed from her reaction to an episode of popular YouTube series 20 vs. 1. The show featured rapper JP screening 20 potential dates. A clip went viral after one of the contestants had a very intimate encounter with JP during taping.
“Y’all didn’t even have a real conversation with each other, and you just ate his dick in the afternoon,“ Cardi B stated.
She added that “A man gone’ be a man,” before turning to the women. Although she insisted, she’s not a “s### shamer,” she added, “y’all need some shaming.”
Cardi went on to point on, “STDs exist,” questioning whether JP used a condom during the NSFW incident. “I’m helping you from diseases,” she claimed. “I am helping you to stay healthy, so y’all need me.”
Meek Mill was ruthlessly mocked online after posting an Instagram selfie.
The Philly rapper has been subjected to a barrage of gay jokes and rumors following allegations in Lil Rod’s sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy and the social media slander continues.
On Thursday evening (May 2), Meek shared a photo of himself posted up against an SUV. However, fans ripped him for wearing a sheer shirt, mocking him in the comment section.
“The shirt ain’t helping the accusations,” wrote one person. Another added, “Philly lost twice in the same night,” referencing the Knicks eliminating Sixers in Game 6 of the playoffs.
Meanwhile, others claimed Meek Mill should never have posted the photo amid the Diddy rumors.
“I’m out here DEFENDING YOU N####!!! And you gone POST THIS?!?? Like wear da s###, I’m not mad… but post?!?? For n##### to misconstrue?!?!” a third person stated. “It’s like you dnt care and not even tryna help us help you. Aight g.”
However, Meek appeared unphased by the backlash, reacting on his Instagram Stories. “The propaganda don’t even want me wearing Rick lol,” he joked.
While Meek appeared unbothered by his critics this time, he’s had multiple outbursts over the gossip since Lil Rod’s allegations. The producer claimed Diddy had sexual relations with Meek Mill, among other men.
Last month, Meek explained that the rumors are affecting his children.
“I don’t believe no Diddy story once they lied about me now!” he wrote. “I don’t care but yall confusing my son he’s 12 with people saying his dad gay it’s sick.”
This is the moment many have been waiting for! Ghostface Killah and Nas on the same track – again. This isn’t the first time, but it has been a long time since these titans have shared a beat. This is the first opus under Mass Appeal Records thought and quite a start is it. The song is under 3 minutes, but we still get three verses from them, so listen up.
Termanology released his first album, Hood Politics, in 2003. Over the last 21 years, he’s remained diligent, dropping project after project. His latest, Time is Currency, arrived last week and marked his 50th effort (yes, 50th).
Boasting features from frequent collaborator Paul Wall, Kool G Rap, Ras Kass and Kota The Friend, among others, the 15-track album is a testament to his unwavering work ethic and commitment to the culture. But it also marks a significant milestone for Term.
“I have meticulously planned for this one to be special, knowing it would be my 50th project,” Termanology tells AllHipHop. “It was so well structured I purposely started the album saying. ‘I’m on album number 5-0, I make albums with my eyes closed.’
“One of my favorite things about this project is the cover art. The cover was handcrafted in pencil by an artist named Jason McKenzie, who submitted the drawing to me. It was the exact vision I had for the cover. My good friend and longtime collaborator Deezy took it and brought it to life. Time is Currency is definitely one of my favorite covers ever.”
Produced entirely by Nastee, the album is overflowing with Term’s signature boom bap flavor, accentuated by endlessly clever rhyme schemes and infectious hooks. One of his latest videos, “Uptown Fly” featuring Term’s new signee Nim K and Lord Sko, is unapologetically East Coast, complete with shots of the historic bridges and graffiti-splashed walls.
The YouTube clip has wracked up more than one million views since its release, a clear indication people still crave authentic Hip-Hop—not the watered down iteration being spoon-fed to the masses. Not to mention, Time is Currency landed at No. 1 on iTunes US Hip Hop/Rap Albums chart upon its release. Termanology shared the news on his Instagram, writing simply, “Thankful.”
Decades in, Term has a lot to be grateful for these days. His two collaborative albums with Paul Wall, Start 2 Finish (2022) and Start Finish, Repeat (2023), both smashed Spotify’s one million streams mark. And, like a fine wine, he just continues to get better with age. Find the album here and keep scrolling for his entire discography. All physical copies (CD/Vinyl) and downloads available via Bandcamp.

Coi Leray has set the record straight on her alleged issues with Nicki Minaj after issuing a rousing crusade against female rap beef on social media.
Days after expressing her earnest belief that female rap beef is personified by record labels and music streaming services to bolster profit margins, Leray further stood on business after a fan attempted to call her bluff.
In response to a tweet she previously shared in which Coi Leray wrote, “Most of these female rappers not even from the same places !!!! Not from the same hoods….why are we beefing,” a Twitter user replied in thread suggesting artists such as Leray use beef to align themselves with bigger artists.
“Most of them like you, do it to get Nicki Minaj support and then when she turns on you.. you don’t have support from any fan base,” the user, who’s handle is @Marleyday13, wrote in the tweet.
Leray swiftly responded, blocking the accusation she leveraged any issue she may have had with Minaj for clout, considering she reconciled with the Pink Friday 2 rapper behind closed doors.
“Me and Nicki spoke behind the scenes, personally, and I never brought that to the public,” she wrote. “Business ain’t work out, that’s okay. I still wish her nothing but the best and blick blick is one of the greatest videos that will be in history.”
If you’ll recall, Leray and Minaj collaborated on the aforementioned “Blick Blick” in March 2022, but not without there being some form of controversy being attached to the release. Prior to the single hitting DSP’s, Minaj denied working with Leray after Benzino boasted about the two’s supposed collaboration on Clubhouse.
Nicki Minaj brought out Cyndi Lauper as a special guest during her recent show in Brooklyn.
The rapper surprised fans by inviting the music icon to join her on stage as a guest artist during her concert at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn as part of her “Pink Friday 2 World Tour.”
The pair performed Nicki’s 2023 song “Pink Friday Girls,” which features a sample of Cyndi’s iconic song “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.”
After Cyndi, 70, took to the stage, the duo walked hand in hand down Nicki’s runway before launching into the song.
According to footage shared by a fan on social media, Nicki Minaj, 41, paused halfway through the song to tell the crowd to “make some noise for this icon, this legend.”
After their performance, Nicki Minaj and Cyndi Lauper shared a sweet embrace.
“I have been speaking about this woman in my interviews since I first began rapping,” Nicki said.
Cyndi’s surprise appearance at the concert comes days after the rapper performed with Drake at her concert in Toronto on Tuesday. The pair performed their collaborative track “Needle.”
Nicki is currently in the middle of the North American leg of her world tour and will next perform in New Orleans on May 8. She will kick off the European leg of her tour on May 23 in Amsterdam.
JT faced the wrath of Sukihana for failing to clear up alleged issues between the two. Sukihana labeled JT a cocaine user on Thursday (May 2).
“She pretty then a mufuka but she be doing cocainnnn,” Sukihana wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “Y’all pray for me nothing wrong it’s just Jt lips use to be so white.”
Sukihana targeted JT over an alleged subliminal from the City Girls rapper’s single “Okay,” which dropped in April. Fans believed JT dissed Cardi B or Sukihana on the song.
“She ate crab legs, now her whole tooth missing/Cheap ass veneers, you stay talking s###,” JT rapped.
Cardi B’s tooth fell out after she ate a bagel in March. Sukihana posted a video about breaking her tooth while eating crab legs in 2022. She initially did not think the line was aimed at her.
“We all know I done broke my teeth on some crab legs … But I don’t talk s### about b######,” she said in an Instagram video. “I always show love. Never hated on a b####, never called a b#### name. Always showed love. And I was at JT birthday party, it was hugs and giggles. So, I don’t feel like she talking about me.”
Sukihana asked JT to clarify the meaning of the lyrics to stop the confusion.
“JT just clear it up,” she said. “’Cause I know you see the people keep tagging me and Cardi. They only tagging me and her. Can you let us know who you talking about?”
Sukihana was unsatisfied with JT’s silence, taking shots at the City Girls member two days later. The controversial rapper/reality TV trolled JT a week after getting arrested on drug charges in Florida. Sukihana was charged with possession of codeine and ecstasy with intent to sell, deliver or manufacture.
Drew Dixon served John Legend with a notice for a deposition in her sexual assault lawsuit against L.A. Reid. According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Legend was listed as one of the witnesses in a discovery status report filed in New York on Wednesday (May 1).
“On April 30, 2024, Plaintiff served notices of depositions for the following witnesses: Nichelle Devaille (deposition set for May 7, 2024); Karen Kwak (May 20, 2024); Roy Lott (June 20, 2024); and John Stephens p/k/a John Legend (June 24, 2024),” the civil case’s third discovery report noted.
Dixon sued Reid, the top executive at Arista Records when she worked for the label, in November 2023. Dixon claimed Reid assaulted her twice by digitally penetrating her without content in 2001. Reid allegedly held a grudge against her for rejecting his continued advances.
“Following the second sexual assault in Mr. Reid’s car, Ms. Dixon intensified her efforts to avoid Mr. Reid,” Dixon’s lawyers wrote. “However, Mr. Reid persisted in trying to corner her alone by inviting her to meetings in his hotel room night after night. When Ms. Dixon resisted his efforts, Mr. Reid grew angry and increasingly hostile towards her, as well as to her artists, and her ideas.”
They continued, “This was a drastic reversal from Mr. Reid’s enthusiasm about her creative taste and instincts over the years, and harm came from the fact that Mr. Reid would directly respond to Ms. Dixon’s rejection of his sexual advances by punishing the artists Ms. Dixon had already signed or by blocking the artists she attempted to sign. This included future superstars like Kanye West, John Legend and Toya.”
Dixon accused Reid of sexual battery, false imprisonment, intentional infliction of emotional distress and gender-motivated violence. Both sides appeared for a settlement conference in March. The next settlement conference is scheduled for June 25.
Attorneys representing Dixon did not need extra time to complete discovery in the civil case. Reid’s lawyers required more time.
“With regard to discovery as a whole, Defendant notes that this case presents unusual challenges given that it has been commenced more than two decades after the alleged wrongs,” Reid’s legal team noted. “As a result, additional time has been and will be required to locate witnesses and documents, and Defendant anticipates that some witnesses and documents may ultimately be unavailable due to the passage of time.”
Dixon sued Reid under New York’s Adult Survivors Act. The legislation allowed survivors of sexual assault to sue their abusers despite the statute of limitations for a one-year period, which ended in November 2023.
DJ Scheme, a friend and collaborator of Juice WRLD, berated controversial influencer Andrew Tate over insulting remarks about the late artist on social media.
Tate trashed Juice WRLD fans in response to an X (formerly known as Twitter) post featuring a footage of the rapper interacting with a crowd near his tour bus.
“Imagine being a fan of ‘juice wrld,’” Tate wrote. “F###### mindless.”
Tate’s comments upset DJ Scheme, who scolded Tate and mentioned allegations of human trafficking against the internet personality.
“1. You’re a f###### loser,” DJ Scheme wrote. “2. Every content creator passed u around like a little w#### now ur all washed up and nobody gives a f### about you. And for the finale Literally you’re a HUMAN TRAFFICKER.”
1. You’re a f###### loser. 2. Every content creator passed u around like a little w#### now ur all washed up and nobody gives a f### about you. And for the finale Literally you’re a HUMAN TRAFFICKER. https://t.co/uunF8nu7EX
Tate was indicted for rape, human trafficking and forming an organized crime group to sexually exploit women in 2023. The self-described misogynist faced charges with his brother and two female suspects. Last month, a Romanian court ruled Tate will stand trial for rape and trafficking charges. Tate appealed the ruling.
DJ Scheme accused Tate of using Juice WRLD’s name for clout. The producer felt a duty to defend his deceased friend.
“Sick n tired of people using my dead brothers names for clout,” DJ Scheme wrote. “U think I care for the $30 a month from X?? Sht don’t covers my bills?! LOL. I work hard and support my ENTIRE family. The last thing ima do is let someone talk down on someone who isn’t here to defend themselves.”
Juice WRLD, whose real name was Jarad Higgins, died in 2019 from an accidental overdose of codeine and oxycodone. His mother, Carmela Wallace, founded the Live Free 999 fund in honor of her son. Live Free 999 provides “access to education, prevention and treatment for opioid and other forms of drug addiction.”
Fat Joe might’ve given Joel Embid and the Philadelphia 76ers the ammunition they needed to snipe the New York Knicks off recently.
In game five of their first round playoff series, the 6ixers knocked the Knicks off 112 to 106 in an overtime thriller. While it’s obviously worth noting that burgeoning league superstar Tyrese Maxey dropped a 46-piece chicken nugget dinner on the Knicks, tying Michael Jordan’s playoff record for most points scored in Madison Square Garden during a playoff series, Embid was the x-factor in this one.
And it’s not because of the double figures he put up scoring wise or the triple double statline. Embid and the 6ixers likely caught fire due to Joey Crack’s inflammatory rhetoric about them. Well, mostly Embid himself.
“Let’s go Knickerbockers,” Fat Joe said in part in a video he took courtside before the game. “Let me tell you something, my fist stinks a little because Joel Embiid just walked by and gave me a dap. My sh#t smell a little, it smells dirty.”
Now, the idea that Embid even dapped up Fat Joe in the first place is kind of crazy, considering Fat Joe was talking smack about him last year and even vouched for Nikola Jokic over him as the top center in the league.
Check out the hilarious video above and revisit Fat Joe’s argument regarding Embid and Jokic below.
Kendrick Lamar helped bring international attention to a Chinese restaurant in Toronto. New Ho King’s owner Johnny Lu discussed the impact of Kendrick mentioning the restaurant on the Drake diss “euphoria” in an interview with City News.
“He said good food and the fried rice – get more, more, more rice,” Lu said. “The chef’s gonna be busy.”
Kendrick rapped about dining at New Ho King in the closing verse of “euphoria.” The lyrics featured K. Dot taunting Drake with the use of Toronto slang.
“I be at New Ho King eatin’ fried rice with a dip sauce and a blammy, crodie,” Kendrick rapped.
New Ho King received a dramatic uptick in positive reviews online after Kendrick name-dropped the restaurant on his Drake diss. Lu was delighted by Kendrick’s shoutout, which helped attract new customers.
“Kendrick’s a good guy,” Lu said. “Oh my God.”
The restaurant owner showed no love to Drake despite their Toronto ties.
“I’m trying to learn how to sing the song now,” Lu told City News.
Kendrick highlighting New Ho King seemed random to many listeners, leading fans to speculate it was the restaurant where Drake got robbed at gunpoint in 2009. He was actually robbed at a restaurant in Little Italy and spoke about the incident in the past.
“One night I took a girl out and got robbed at gunpoint – two guns, in fact,” Drake told GQ years ago. “I knew it was a setup because I had on a sweater and a jacket, but when they banged on the car window with a gun and opened the door, the first thing he said was, ‘Yo, run that chain.’ They didn’t rob her, and her purse was sitting right there.”
Drake and Kendrick’s rap battle began when the latter appeared on Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You album in March. Kendrick dissed Drake on the song “Like That,” which became a No. 1 hit. Drake responded with two diss tracks, “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle,” in April. Kendrick dropped “euphoria” on Tuesday (April 30).
Weber County authorities filed new charges against NBA YoungBoy following his arrest for a prescription drug fraud scheme in Utah. According to KUTV, the 24-year-old rapper faced a felony charge for possession of a firearm by a restricted person and two counts of fraudulently obtaining a prescription.
NBA YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, was arrested on dozens of charges in April. The charges included forgery, identity fraud and obtaining a prescription under false pretenses.
The Cache County Sheriff’s Office accused NBA YoungBoy and his associates of illegally procuring promethazine with codeine from Utah pharmacies. The suspects allegedly impersonated doctors to prescribe drugs to fake patients, duping pharmacists.
NBA YoungBoy allegedly participated in the prescription drug scam while on house arrest in a gun case. He remained in a Utah jail awaiting a court date scheduled for May 9. His attorneys will argue for bail at the hearing in May. But he seemed destined to stay behind bars based on an April 30 filing by Judge Joseph Bean.
“The Defendant is denied pretrial release under the authority of Utah Code 77-20-1 based upon the following facts,” the judge wrote. “U.C.A. 77-20-201(1)(b) Defendant is felony on felony and there is substantial evidence to support the charge. U.C.A. 77-20-201(1)(c) (i) and (ii) there is substantial evidence of defendant’s involvement in prescription fraud and distribution there is clear and convincing evidence that defendant is a danger to the community. In addition, defendant appears to be a multi-state offender with primary contacts in Louisiana and is a risk of flight.”
Judge Shelly Dick, who’s overseeing NBA YoungBoy’s federal charges in Louisiana, ordered his detainment until a bond revocation hearing in his gun case. Federal prosecutors want the judge to rescind his pretrial release due to his latest arrest. Judge Dick paused his gun case in March.
Live Nation has partnered with the Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC) to introduce a pioneering music business course and paid internship program set to transform opportunities for Black professionals in Los Angeles.
The collaboration aims to democratize access to the music industry while equipping participants with essential onstage and backstage skills. Slated to start in the summer, the initiative will provide an all expense paid week-long intensive course covering a wide spectrum of live music roles.
Following the course, graduates will secure a 4-month paid internship with Live Nation, and a select few will advance to a 6-month paid apprenticeship under the new ‘School of Live Apprenticeship Program.’ These apprenticeships offer significant prospects for long-term employment and further professional development in the industry.
“The partnership with BMAC underscores our commitment to nurturing and advancing Black talent within the music business,” Live Nation Concerts Co-President Omar Al-joulani said.
The initiative not only aims to educate and train but also facilitates crucial networking opportunities with musicians and executives alike. Applications for the 2024 BMAC x Live Nation Program will opened in March, with further details available on BMAC’s official website.
Throughout the years, Live Nation has consistently invested in the Black Music Action Coalition, supporting the operational aspects of BMAC’s programs and initiatives aimed at systemic equality in the music sector.
BMAC President/CEO Willie “Prophet” Stiggers emphasized the long-term mission of the partnership, stating, “We are focused on building sustainable pathways for Black individuals in the music industry and are grateful for Live Nation’s instrumental role in this journey.”
The courses’ establishment follows a history of collaborative initiatives focused on equity and access between BMAC and Live Nation, marking a significant step in their ongoing efforts to foster diversity and inclusion within the music industry.
The ongoing back-and-forth between Drake and Kendrick Lamar has Hip-Hop fans considering which rapper has taken the lead in the battle. As the debate continued online, professional basketball player Angel Reese chose not to weigh in on the conversation publicly.
The WNBA’s Chicago Sky franchise shared a video on X about the headline-grabbing Drake and Kendrick Lamar rivalry. Most of the team members sided with Drake over Lamar. However, Angel Reese dodged the question.
“I’m not getting in this controversy,” Reese replied when asked for her opinion on Drake versus Kendrick Lamar. The 21-year-old athlete also said, “I’ll be on Twitter, Shade Room, all that. I ain’t getting into that. Nope.”

Lil Tjay (born Tione Jayden Merritt) was taken into custody on a warrant at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport on Tuesday (April 30). Authorities reportedly released the Bronx-bred rapper on a $500 bond.
The arrest in Florida came on Lil Tjay’s 23rd birthday. Despite facing possible legal consequences, Tjay still celebrated by purchasing Richard Mille and Patek Philippe watches from Benny “Da Jeweler” Nisanov.
“@liltjay SAID HE WANNA SPEND 500K FOR HIS BDAY!! 23 YEARS YOUNG THIS HOW WE COMIN,” Benny Da Jeweler wrote on his Instagram page. That social media post included footage of Tjay and Benny on a private jet.
Additionally, Lil Tjay commented under Benny Da Jeweler’s Instagram video. The “Calling My Phone” hitmaker posted two rolling on the floor laughing emojis and three clinking glasses emojis.
