The Atlanta rapper posted a heavenly letter to his relative he affectionately called “Take,” saying, “It’s so hard to tell you Ima miss you because you always with me and we did everything together. Since we were kids you been by my side lookin up at me, them eyes waiting on me to make the next move… then you followed up right behind me. You always made sure I did it first so you can do it right with me. You never competed with me, we were always on the same team.” He also spoke of his nephew’s gentle and jovial personality.

He the most unbothered person in the world. “But by far the funniest person in the room. Once you got him going he wouldn’t stop,” Quavo added.
Quavo finally said, “I’m proud to say I’ve seen your blessings, I’ve seen you bless me, you blessed mama, you blessed Shara, you blessed Treet, Heaven, and Zeke.
“You will continue to send your blessings down from Heaven and I will continue to keep your name alive as long as I live,” he wrote.

He and his DJ love interest Abby De La Rosa have welcomed their third child, a year after the two had twin sons.
The new baby is a beautiful little girl, who the couple named Beautiful Zeppelin Cannon. Possibly named after the rock group, Led Zeppelin, the actual name is an aircraft the Germans used in the second World War.
Cannon took to social media to share the good news with his friends, family, and fans.
He captioned a post on Instagram, “11/11/2022 A BEAUTIFUL DAY for ‘BEAUTIFUL ZEPPELIN CANNON’ to arrive!”

Mathew Knowles has revealed that he wanted Solange to be in Destiny’s Child.
In a recent Instagram post, the father of Solange and Beyoncé Knowles gushed over his younger daughter. The post revealed that when Beyoncé’s girl group Destiny’s Child officially formed in 1996, Mathew wanted Solange to join her sister.
“Many of you aren’t aware, but I personally wanted Solange to be in Destiny’s Child,” Mathew wrote. “That didn’t appeal to her. You would think joining Destiny’s Child would be a dream to her, and she had every opportunity to seize the success that the group was experiencing – but she wanted to forge her very own path.”
Mathew recounted in the end, he “finally supported and encouraged her decision.”
He added, “I would love for all of you to take a page out of Solange’s book… Sometimes life brings us to a crossroads and makes us make a choice between the ‘obvious decision’ and the choice our heart knows deep within we should take.
“I would encourage you to not automatically discount the latter.”
Solange recently composed her first ballet score, which accompanied a production by the New York City Ballet.
Mathew concluded his post by writing, “The universe rewards bravery, and sometimes the less obvious choice is the one that will bring us the most happiness and success. The heart doesn’t lie!

Elon Musk, Twitter’s new owner, is considering placing the entire platform behind a paywall to make more revenue, and Soulja Boy is not happy about the new owner’s plans.
Musk has amassed over $92 billion in fortune this year as a result of his purchase of Twitter, which he is now considering putting totally behind a paywall.
According to Bloomberg, shares of Musk’s other company, Tesla Inc., which accounts for the majority of his fortune, were trading as low as $186.75 earlier in the week.
The site reported the value decline is due to investors in the electric car company having worries following his acquisition of Twitter.
Musk, 51, is now worth $177 billion as a result. His fortune peaked at $340 billion last year, when Tesla’s stock hit a record high of $410.
According to Bloomberg, his current net worth has had no effect on his status as the world’s richest person.
Musk finalized a $44 billion deal to buy Twitter late last month. According to The Verge, Musk, who reportedly borrowed $12 billion to fund the sale, has investigated alternative ways to generate cash for the company, including charging a monthly fee to most or all users.
According to a source familiar with the matter, the Tesla CEO and one of his advisers, venture capitalist David Sacks, have discussed the platform-wide paywall in recent meetings. Although a paywall has yet to be rolled out, Musk has launched a new version of Twitter Blue for $8 a month, which allows anyone to be verified.
And Musk said he was thinking of making everyone pay to be verified. However, the boss had to suspend the initial rollout of the updated Twitter Blue, after users used their new verification to impersonate other people and brands.
The news did not sit well with Soulja Boy, who snapped on the “Chief Twit.”
Musk let go of many of Twitter’s 7,500 employees this week, only days after acquiring the company.
Ginuwine has always had a fear of being submerged under water. When presented with the opportunity to confront his fears on an episode of Criss Angel’s Magic With The Stars, he took it anyway. But the “Pony” star never could’ve predicted what happened once he arrived on-set. For his stunt, Ginuwine was encased in a small glass box of water and expected to hold his breath for over a minute.
Fifteen seconds in, he began banging on the glass and needed to be pulled out. Criss Angel addressed the incident last month, telling Daily Mail, “My heart was in my mouth at that moment. I didn’t know what the hell was going on until we got him. You just never know. My concern was whether he had a stroke or heart attack.”

Ginuwine reflected on the harrowing moment in a recent interview with AllHipHop and was clearly relieved he lived to see his 52nd birthday.
“I never knew how to hold my breath for a long time, so I wanted to conquer that fear, and I knew if anybody could ever help me do that it would be Criss,” he explained. “It was something outside of the norm for me. I knew this was something that I want to conquer ’cause I just hate anything to beat me. You tell me no, that’s when I really want to do it.”
He continued, “Something happened. The best word I could use is I panicked ’cause I wasn’t able to hold my breath for but 15 seconds. Once Criss got there, he and his partner showed me some techniques to learn, and lo and behold, I was able to hold my breath for a minute and 40 seconds. As I said, I just don’t want nothing to beat me. He didn’t want me to do it again. I was like, ‘I’m here now I might as well. I’m good.’ He allowed me to do it, but he wanted to make sure I was safe. It was an emotional moment for me also because I was really scared. A lot of people, when they hear magic, in the back of their minds they think it’s a trick somehow. Nah, this really wasn’t no trick. I was underwater. You can’t fake that.”
Ginuwine admitted he had second thoughts prior to climbing inside the glass box, but his determination wouldn’t let him quit.
“I was even nervous ‘cause it’s outside of the norm for me,” he said. “Once I got there, I didn’t want to turn around and say I didn’t want to do it now, but once I saw the box, I was like, ‘How the heck am I going to get in there?’ I’m like 6’1. It was just one of those things where I really had to conquer that fear because I love being in my boat and being on the water, but I always had a fear of something happening and having to be in this big old body of water, treading water, and I’m horrified of that.”
Ginuwine’s fear of treading water can be traced back to when he was a kid—he almost drowned.
“You know how kids be playing and jumping on top of each other and holding em down?” he asked. “When I was young, that actually happened to me and they had to pull me out. I think after that I didn’t really like going into the deep end anymore. I used to always just stay in three or four feet. As long as I could stand up, I was fine, but if I had to tread I would be scared. With me, I had to conquer it.”
Even after the near-death experience, Ginuwine has plans to skydive in an effort to overcome a fear of heights. He added with a laugh, “I guess I’m going through a midlife crisis.”

Cardi B’s post arrived just hours after Takeoff’s Celebration of Life, which took place on Friday (November 11) at the State Farm Arena in his hometown of Atlanta. She and Offset were photographed arriving at the memorial in all black looking somber. During the service, Offset delivered an emotional speech and admitted he was having trouble understanding why his life was taken.

Legendary Hip Hop producer Pete Rock has vowed to abandon Twitter following the release of King’s Disease III, the third installment of Nas and Hit-Boy’s ongoing King’s Disease album series. Boasting 16 tracks, as well as one bonus cut called “Til My Last Breath,” the project had social media buzzing—but not just because of Nas’ top-tier rhyming and Hit-Boy’s beats.
On the song “30,” Nasty Nas take a friendly jab at his former rival JAY-Z and also goes after Pete Rock, who sued Nas over Illmatic royalties earlier this year. (Rock, of course, produced “The World Is Yours” for the 1994 classic.)
“Superhero material, rap star status,” he raps. “Premier album still might happen/I wonder why Pete Rock would act like that/That type of behavior makes me give rap right back.”
The mention was enough to get “Pete Rock” trending on the social media platform. On Friday (November 11), as his name continued to make the rounds, Rock fired off a tweet that read, “Will be deactivating my twitter sooner than soon so whatever I’m trending about I DO NOT CARE.

Rock’s lawsuit against Nas was filed in January. He and his attorneys claimed Nas granted Rock a share of the proceeds for “The World Is Yours” through a contract. The song—the only single from Illmatic to receive a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)—is now worth millions of dollars and features a writing credit and vocals from Rock. Speaking to AllHipHop, Rock confirmed the lawsuit is ongoing and said he wouldn’t be able to comment further until it’s settled.
Rihanna wants to design a line of children’s clothing.
The Barbadian singer welcomed a son with her boyfriend A$AP Rocky in May, though the couple has not yet revealed the tot’s name.
But in a new interview for Vogue, Rihanna revealed that she is interested in the idea of creating her own kids’ fashion line.
“We didn’t get there yet but it’s something that I might do. We’ll see,” she said. “I would have so much fun with that. Anything in miniature is just so cute.”
Previously, Rihanna launched a fashion brand in partnership with luxury group LVMH called Fenty in May 2019.

25-year-old Destinee Govan was shot and killed during a drive-by shooting at 5500 Richmond Ave in Houston on September 24th.
Better known as LottaCash Desto, the Memphis native was a protege of Lil Uzi Vert. More importantly, she is the daughter of Hernandez Govan. Her father is the third suspect and alleged mastermind behind Dolph’s death.

On the other hand, the streets also believe the already incarcerated Justin Johnson could be the potential informant of the group who is telling, which may explain Govan’s recent arrest, especially given his recent request for a safety transfer.
Kanye West is confident he can say anything he wants—despite the recent fallout from the anti-Semitic comments that cost him not only his billionaire status but also his lucrative partnerships with Adidas and Gap. On Friday (November 11), the G.O.O.D. Music founder was stopped by a paparazzo, who suggested people were trying to control him.
West quickly scoffed at the notion and said celebrities such as Beyoncé, JAY-Z, Shaquille O’Neal and LeBron James were the real puppets.
“They can’t control me,” he said. “They can control Shaq. They can control Charles Barkley. They can control LeBron James. They can control JAY-Z and Beyoncé. They can’t control me. There’s no name I won’t name. It’s up.”
The 45-year-old creative then addressed Louis Farrakhan, who appeared to defend the seemingly troubled rapper just days ago when he said in part, “Some of you that are persecuting him [West] are the very ones that took away from him and from us, the knowledge of self. But evidently, West didn’t see it that way and said he took Farrakhan’s remarks as a “slight.” He continued, “I don’t take no disrespect from nobody, so let’s get on the phone. Let’s talk that out. I don’t care who you are. I ain’t taking no slights from nobody. It’s God. That’s the only person I serve. My mama ain’t here. My mama was sacrificed. You understand?
“Michael Jordan—what about him? His Daddy. Bill Cosby? His son. Dr. Dre? His son. Out in Hollywood, a lot of people come up missing. Feels like it might be a lot of that in order to control, traumatize. They wanna monetize and traumatize, and God love me. They hit me—Gap, adidas, all that away. Nas announced plans for a special concert following the release of his King’s Disease III album with Hit-Boy on Friday (November 11).
The legendary rapper will perform his King’s Disease trilogy as part of a one-night-only show at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The event is scheduled to take place on February 24, 2023.
Madison Square Garden shared ticket information about the concert on social media. Tickets will go on sale to the general public following a period of early access for Chase cardholders.
“Nas will perform at The Garden on Fri, Feb 24!” Madison Square Garden noted. “Chase cardholders get early ticket access Tue, Nov 15 at 10am to Thu, Nov 17 at 10pm, while supplies last. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Fri, Nov 18 at 10am.”
Tickets will be available online through Ticketmaster. Fans can also purchase tickets at the box offices of Madison Square Garden, the Beacon Theatre and Radio City Music Hall.

Rich Homie Quan discussed an embarrassing moment in his career in an interview with AllHipHop.
The Atlanta-bred rapper recalled his botched attempt to perform The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Get Money” verse at the 2016 VH1 Hip Hop Honors event. Rich Homie Quan admitted he never knew the lyrics but still agreed to perform the Junior M.A.F.I.A. single with Lil Kim.
“I asked Fab to do it, but he’s going to be out of town,” Rich Homie Quan told AllHipHop. “Knowing I didn’t know [the verse], I still said yeah. So, I got up there. I had printed the lyrics out because I know I didn’t know. At the soundcheck, I bring my lyrics on the paper. I asked the dude to put the lyrics on the teleprompter. I’m going through rehearsal; everything’s going smooth and great.”
He continued, “I leave from rehearsal and go get like the Coogi sweater, Timbs – I’m trying to get in character for Biggie. I’m backstage still practicing my lyrics ’cause I know I don’t know. As I got out there, the first two lines [were] on the teleprompter, then the teleprompter goes black. When the teleprompter went black, I tried to say what I thought I saw on the paper. That was a bunch of nothing, and to this day, I still don’t know those lyrics. Not that song.”
Rich Homie Quan revealed he still thinks about his flub whenever he hears “Get Money.” But he hoped to finally learn the lyrics at some point since he considers himself to be a Biggie Smalls fan.
“It is a classic, and that’s just one of those classics I didn’t know,” he said. “I don’t know. I’m a fan of Biggie. I love Biggie though. That just wasn’t one of my Biggie songs though. My favorite song by Biggie is ‘Notorious Thugs.’ Every time I hear [‘Get Money’], I’m like, ‘That’s the song I messed up.’ It’s so big. I’m going to learn it.”

Fast forward to today, the West Coast recording artist unveils his newest project titled I Hate When Life’s Going Great, in collaboration with Deaf Heff.
AllHipHop spoke with LaRussell to discuss his roots in the Bay, starting out producing, his sound, the new project, writing books, selling out shows independently, not setting goals, and more!
AllHipHop: Being from Vallejo, how does that play into your life and career?
LaRussell: Of course, ultra connected to the roots. That’s one of those questions where if you haven’t experienced it, it’s hard to detail. But hyper modern and normal, I was just outside hooping. Been around the block, navigating my woes as I could. Went to public school, ended up going to continuation school. That’s where I graduated, picked up music from there.
AllHipHop: Do you remember when you fell in love with music?
LaRussell: I remember when I started making beats. I was on YouTube and found this video of Kanye West making music on an MPC. I said I want to f###### make beats! That was a defining moment for me.
AllHipHop: So you started off producing?
LaRussell: Yeah, I started off producing first. I was doing photography and videos, making beats. But yeah, producing was my first start into the music side.
AllHipHop: What made you start rapping?
LaRussell: I’ve always been rapping and writing. I used to freestyle over instrumentals, but producing was easier to get in because I didn’t have to have that confidence of being the center of attention. I could give a beat to someone and allow them to be in front. I was always rapping, always writing poetry. Eventually I started releasing music with some of the homies, battle rapping at school. I got challenged to battle rap and it opened that door for me to go out and work my craft publicly.
AllHipHop: Top 5 of all time?
LaRussell: Pac, Drake, Hov, Andre 3000, Cole, Kanye! You can’t narrow that s### to 5. [laughs]
AllHipHop: I was hoping you’d name some Baydestrians.
LaRussell: Not in my Top 5. I’m a very lyric driven artist. We haven’t had a lot of lyric driven artists to reach a certain pentacle from here, so not yet. Hopefully within the next decade, I will have some Bay Area in that list.
AllHipHop: How would you describe your sound?
LaRussell: Indescribable. If someone was trying to tell you “oh, what does he do? What’s his lane?” It’d be very hard to describe. I have 21 albums and they range in genre and sound. If you listen to I Hate When Life’s Going Great, it’s not hip-hop. There’s hip-hop elements, but a lot of it is genre-bending. There’s a lot of R&B, a lot of pop, a lot of dance, just different genres. We’re genre-benders over here, so I describe it as indescribable.
AllHipHop: Is LaRussell your real name?
LaRussell: That’s my real name. I started my career under the name Tota Shakur, and I had got mildly successful. I was doing a lot of local shows and people knew who I was. I released my first 3 or 4 projects under that name. Eventually I wrote an album called Silence Won’t Save You, which was my life story, so I had to do it as myself. From then, it’s been up.
AllHipHop: I Hate When Life’s Going Great album out now, what’s the meaning behind the title?
LaRussell: Just navigating life. As I’ve been getting bigger and more successful, I’ve been having to deal with all the self-sabotaging thoughts and feelings. All of the woes that come with success. A lot of people don’t understand that with success comes a lot of loss. You get a lot of game, but you get a lot of loss. Some days, I’m anti everything I’ve established and created. This album is an ode to those feelings and people who are also feeling that way.Getting so far at a certain point, but still feeling like what the f### am I doing?
AllHipHop: What is it you want fans to get from the project?
LaRussell: Truth, release, freedom, liberation. Just knowing that someone who they look up to and listen to feels the exact same way.
AllHipHop: Talk about starting your own collective, Good Compenny.
LaRussell: Come on man! Good Compenny is a collective created by the squad and the homies. We really do a lot to cultivate local artists and put artists on. We create a live performance platform similar to Colors and Genius where we’ve had a lot of artists go viral and a lot of success there. From there, the ones we love, we help them write songs and market their s###. Put their music out where they can own it completely. We throw dope ass events and shows. We teach artists how to perform, just give them a support system and a home. We give them a place to be an artist, be free and really cultivate their craft.
AllHipHop: Why Compenny?
LaRussell: I feel like pennies are undervalued. Most people just walk past ’em, so it was a great play on words. If you picked up all of the pennies you walk past, you’d probably have a cool amount of money, but you walked past them all. [laughs]
AllHipHop: You also released books, right?
LaRussell: Yeah man, I’ve released two books so far. I’m writing my third right now. That’s one of my lanes. My last book Limitless did really well, we sold it independently. We sold over 5,000 copies so far. It’s a book full of life gems that I’ve used to navigate my journey through this whole process and my life. The book I’m currently writing is called I HATE WHEN LIFE’S GOING GREAT, it’s a behind-the-scenes look of all the moments throughout my career that people have witnessed publicly. Like LA Leakers and breakfast club, but they don’t know the details of what went into them and how it came about. It’s me talking on those moments, also including some life gems and things that I’ve struggled with along the way. S### that took place behind-the-scenes that no one really gets to see.
AllHipHop: Talk about selling out shows independently, how does that feel?
LaRussell: Incredible man! I’ve been doing it since the start, I’ve never really done booked shows. I’ve always done my own shows, but I’ve always lost because I had to go through ticketing deals, door deals, and splitting with venues. Now that I’ve built this rapport and I’ve built my own ticketing platform, I’m able to make 3 to 5 times more off shows than I’d usually make because it’s offer based. It’s people making offers on what they feel like my value is, and I get to accept or decline what I feel like I’m worth. We’re creating a new way for artists to tour and be financially fit. I see a lot of artists canceling shows and tours because they can’t afford it. This method that we’ve created is new, I don’t have to go out unless I know it’s gonna be profitable for me. It allows my fans to really show me how much they appreciate me.
AllHipHop: Are you good at tech?
LaRussell: Sorta, but I have a dope team of black engineers that helped me develop this. I’m just really great at ideas and innovation in life. [laughs]
AllHipHop: Charlamagne Tha God, Wallo, Chance The Rapper, Russ, Meek Mill, LA Reid, Erykah Badu have all shown you love. Is there one cosign that stands out from the rest?
LaRussell: Nah, not necessarily. They’re all equal in rapport, no one ever had to say anything about me. I definitely love Charlemagne, because he posts me like I’m signed to him. He shows a lot of love. People think it’s paid promotion, but he loves me that much so that’s a special place.Nothing really sticks out more than others, I’m grateful for all of them.
AllHipHop: Goals for yourself as an artist at this point of your career?
LaRussell: No, I don’t set goals. I just do the work. I got to a point in life where I just stopped setting goals, because it always leads to a little disappointment. Now, I just do a whole lot of work.
AllHipHop: What’re you most excited for next?
LaRussell: Man, this new tech that I’m building. Next year I’m doing the first ever offer-based festival. I just announced Proud To Pay Café. I just bought out a restaurant for the rest of the year. People can go and eat and pay whatever they want for it. That’s something I’m excited for, the community to be able to eat. I don’t think anyone should ever have to go without eating, so we created a way to feed the people. Just building ingenuity in tech and landing a new blueprint for artists to be successful.
Prosecutors want a judge to dismiss a lawsuit filed by Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty, who claims he never was able to challenge his sex offender status.
According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, oral arguments in the case are scheduled for January 6, 2023. Nicki Minaj’s husband aims to move forward with his lawsuit in an attempt to get his name removed from New York’s sex offender registry.
Kenneth Petty says he never received notice about a 2004 Sex Offender Registration Act hearing. Prosecutors insist Nicki Minaj’s husband was properly notified.
“Contrary to Plaintiff’s allegations, he received notice and was afforded all the process due to him after participating in his 2004 SORA hearing with his counsel,” prosecutors argue. “The court-certified transcript of this hearing attached as Exhibit A to Defendant’s Memorandum of Law in Support of Defendants’ Motion to Dismiss is both an official judicial record and integral to Plaintiff’s complaint, and thus can be considered on this motion, and it ends the case. Plaintiff acknowledged his identity on the record, and his counsel stated that Plaintiff did not contest his designation as a level 2 sex offender.”
Kenneth Petty claims someone forged his signature on the notice, which was sent to an address where he didn’t live because he was incarcerated at the time. Nicki Minaj’s husband seeks to argue he wasn’t present for the 2004 hearing.
“Plaintiff’s counsel’s implication that this official judicial transcript is a forgery because Plaintiff’s incarceration records may show that Plaintiff was incarcerated at the time in various New York state correctional facilities and purportedly thus could not have attended the SORA hearing is nothing short of absurd,” prosecutors contend. “As the Court is well aware, incarcerated individuals are constantly being brought to court from prison for appearances in their cases. The state courts similarly routinely require the production of incarcerated individuals for court appearances, such as the SORA hearing at issue.”
The State Of New York downplays Kenneth Petty’s alleged ignorance regarding his sex offender status. Prosecutors also say the statute of limitations has run out in his case.
“Although Plaintiff admits to his felony conviction for Attempted Rape in the First Degree in State Court, he still alleges that he was unaware of his sex offender status and his risk level redetermination until he was arrested in March 2020 out-of-state for failure to register [as a sex offender],” prosecutors note. “From 2013 through March 2020, Plaintiff essentially alleges he was unaware of the collateral consequences of his felony sex crime conviction.”
They add, “Plaintiff’s claims are meritless and the SORA hearing transcript demonstrates that Plaintiff is fourteen years late in pursuing this lawsuit. The statute of limitations has run and Plaintiff’s claims should be dismissed.”
Kenneth Petty is suing the State of New York and the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services. Judge Eric R. Komitee is presiding over Nicki Minaj’s husband’s case.
Bow Wow returns with a new job as he is the new host of BET’s “After Happily Ever After.”
The show is a one-of-a-kind dating series that asks the question – Can your ex help you find new love?
The BET original features couples in long-term relationships that ended in divorce or separation, and their exes will play matchmaker for their former partners in hopes of helping them let go, move on, and find love once again.
On each episode, Bow Wow will throw a singles party with a new group of potential prospects and daters. The ex-spouses attend the parties to see if they can find good candidates for their former partners. The prospects even get to move into the house for 48 hours to date the former spouses, but are thrown back into the singles pool if they are deemed to not be a good match.
Viewers will get a chance to see if old feelings resurface between the exes and if any of the cast members find love.
With an all-star cast including Peter Gunz, Amina Buddafly, Jeremy Meeks, Shar Jackson and more, the show surely will not disappoint!
AllHipHop’s Rea Davis caught up with Bow Wow to discuss “After Happily Ever After,” getting his credit, his Top 5 DOA and more!
AllHipHop: In your own words, what can we expect from “After Happily Ever After?”
Bow Wow: The real question is, or the answer to that question is what is there not to expect. It’s crazy. It’s up and down. I mean it’s a rollercoaster full of emotions. I mean you’re going to expect couples to leave happy. Some couples might leave alone. Some couples might leave angry. You have a lot of mixed emotions. You are probably going to laugh. You are probably going to be angry. I mean we are taking you all around. It’s a show of its own kind. It’s never been done before where a dating experience where your ex is picking for you. You are placed in a house with you ex and you might not have seen your ex in years. Some of them have kids, some of them are there because of divorce, and you have to build that trust to know that your ex is going to find the right person. Does your ex want to see you happy. Each week I throw these single parties where I’m like inviting 50 guests to the house. The exes come out and pick for the date or so; I mean it’s a wild experience. It’s all over the place. It’s very toxic of course you know anytime you mix ex couples in a house together for 30 days and they haven’t been around each other, you know what’s going to happen. Just be ready. It’s going to be crazy.
AllHipHop: When you heard the concept of the exes helping their exes find new love, what was your reaction to that?
Bow Wow: I was like I’m ready. This is me. Nobody else can host this show but me. This is dope. I’m a little toxic myself. You know we all like to dabble in a little toxic vibes every now and then. For me it was just dope. Not only that but, the show was fly itself, but it was also the people behind things that don’t get enough credit. A couple of the producers. Angela is one of our producers. I work with her on “Growing Up Hip-Hop,” so just people’s familiar faces and people I’ve worked with for years in the TV world, and it came around full circle, then you add BET to the mix. BET gave me my first hosting gig. They believed in me; they trusted me with no hosting experience. They just gave me the mic and told me to have fun with 106 & Park. To have it come full circle and come back around and now host this new show with “After Happily Ever After,” it’s a beautiful situation; it’s the perfect marriage.
AllHipHop: So you have some equally wild people on the show: Peter Gunz, Amina Buddafly, Jeremy Meeks and Shar Jackson. Do any of them find love?
Bow Wow: You gotta wait and see.
AllHipHop: How is your love life currently?
Bow Wow: My love life is easy because I’m single. I’m chilling. Relationships aren’t really my thing because there are so many women that I’ve met along my journey, 15 years plus, that I have friendships with. They are still down, and they still get on me every now and then like “when you gonna settle down and when you gonna….why you keep doing this to me.” I’m like we not together. We’ve been bonding for so long; I understand but I’m just cursed. I got this thing about me it’s either when I’m a good boy I’m still in the wrong. When I’m a bad boy, I’m still in the wrong, so for me, it’s safe for me to just be single. I love being single, less stress. I’m not big on rules. You can’t put rules on me. I make my own money. I got my own businesses. It’s hard. I don’t want to come off bossy, but usually I’m the one writing down the instructions. It’s hard to tell me what to do when I’m the creator of everything and I’m running my own show. So to tell me I can’t speak to this girl or tell me….to go in my phone or all that. I don’t play them type of games like. You do that to me, I’m out. I’m not even going to put myself in those situations. So, it’s best that I’m single, and it’s too many women in my life that I’m so cool with that if I’d got a girlfriend it would p### them off, and I’m in a tricky spot. It’s best to throw the single flag up for me.
AllHipHop: If your sex life was a movie, what would be the title?
Bow Wow: Fire & Long
AllHipHop: Who are your Top 5 favorite rappers dead or alive?
Bow Wow: Snoop, Pac, LL Cool J, Special Ed and…. five…I don’t have five.
AllHipHop:I was really happy to see you receive your flowers during the Verzuz. Do you feel like you get your credit as a young legend?
Bow Wow: Yep. Now I do. I do now after um, when I was introduced to Clubhouse. They did this give flowers room to me, and my boy was like you need to get on Clubhouse they want to give you your roses today. I was like wtf is Clubhouse. I don’t know what that is, and I got on there one day, and 21 Savage was in there. All of these artists start coming to the room giving me all my flowers and then once that happened then we started trending on Twitter. Then everyone was bringing up all of the good stuff I ever did. It was like yo it’s time for us to start putting respect on Bow’s name. I think ever since that day I took everything serious. For the past 4 years I kind of stayed in the media for doing a lot of bullsh*t and clown sh*t. A lot of things were self-inflicted on my legacy. I had to step back and understand. A lot of the things were self inflicted. Snoop was like, “You are leaving coffee stains on your table cloth. You can get a little dirty, but you can’t get it too dirty.” When he spoke to me about that, I kind of took that into consideration. Once I started taking it serious and understood who I am, the Millennium Tour started popping out of nowhere. Now I’m on my second run of the Millennium Tour currently right now packing out arenas from city to city. It’s crazy, you know what I mean. So when you step back and analyze yourself and self check yourself, what that can do for you. I’ve been seeing nothing but positivity now. It’s crazy and it’s long overdue but now is the time, so I can’t wait.
AllHipHop: You’ve had longevity in this game, so who do feel are some of the ones killing it right now? Who are you listening to that you feel is putting out some solid music?
Bow Wow: I’m not listening to nobody to be real with you. If it comes on it comes on. I know us being on tour right now like the homies got like a tour mix, so they play it on the big speaker in the dressing room. When it comes on it’s on. I’m familiar with what’s popping. Trust me, I know what’s popping. I be in the streets in the club. I’m everywhere. I’m in the strip club I’m everywhere, but everything to me just sounds the same. I’m really not moved. I respect more of the hustle. I mean I’m sure if you ask this question, everyone is going to say the same rappers, so I don’t really have to name nobody. To me everything just sounds the same.
AllHipHop: What else is next for Bow?
Bow Wow: Currently on tour. Millennium Tour turned up. Everyone go get their tickets. We going out crazy right now. We got the whole industry on tour with us right now. Aside from that, “After Happily Ever After. The new show on BET airing on Wednesdays. Every Wednesday. Just wrapped up a new movie that Jamie Foxx produced, so I’m excited about that. Australia top of the year on tour. Then the documentary coming with my last album I’m putting out. That’s going to be a project for me and Snoop. A lot of work and hopefully Season 2 of this.

AllHipHop’sRea Davis caught up with Rich Homie Quan to discuss his return, changing the narrative of rap and more!
AllHipHop: I feel like it has been a resurgence for Rich Homie Quan. You have the project out. How does it feel?
Rich Homie Quan: It feels good to have the project out. I hadn’t dropped a project in like 3 years so it feels good. Um the team feels strong. I’m in a great space mentally, so it’s easy to record. It’s easy to create. I just feel like a new artist to be honest.
AllHipHop: So you had an incredible run like “Lifestyle,” “Flex,” “I Know,” “Walk Through,” “Type of Way,” so many! How did it feel? Like did you feel like you were on top of the world; does it still feel surreal looking back?
Rich Homie Quan: To be honest, it was kind of a blur. Like I know it happened. I know about my accolades, but it be kind of a blur, and that’s only because I was young and wild. A lot of stuff was happening so fast so I appreciate the moments. I definitely appreciate them, but I try not to dwell on them as much because it will mess with your mental. I try to create new ones if that makes any sense.
AllHipHop: For those who do not know, why were you gone so long?
Rich Homie Quan: Um, I was going through a litigation with my former label, T.I.G. at the time, and I couldn’t put out new music for 2 and 1/2 years I couldn’t drop music, so when the litigation was over, that’s when I signed with Motown/Capitol.
AllHipHop: But then you lost someone close to you too. Did that impact you as well?
Rich Homie Quan: Yeah, I lost my dawg C-Money. That hurt me a whole lot. I hadn’t really lost anyone close. Knock on wood, but I really hadn’t lost anyone close, close, so that impacted me hard, but motivated me at the same time though because I know how much he loved music and being in the studio with me. Just trying to create something for myself as well as him knowing he’s in Big God’s ear pulling for me. That was motivational.
AllHipHop: So what was the inspiration behind ‘Family & Mula,’ and what do you want listeners to take away from it?
Rich Homie Quan: The inspiration behind ‘Family & Mula,’ would have to have come from basically the name. You know what I’m saying. So around the time when I was…Pandemic; when the pandemic came everything shut down. I’m in the house with the family, but I’m also trying to create music, and I had another baby man. I want him to have some of these memories that I got to know his daddy that guy, so that was really the biggest inspiration having a baby, and not being content with where I was in life. I wanted to work. I was still getting money, I was still on the road, and it’s just a good body of music especially that Atlanta sound, evolving, storytelling, wordplay. I just wanted to fall back in love with music and I did.
AllHipHop: I think it’s so commendable that you use your platforms to speak about changing the narrative in music right now especially with all of this opp music. Our community in Hip Hop and the Black community in general is riddled by gun violence. So how do you feel we can change the narrative and get on the same page, but also stop losing so many people to gun violence?
Rich Homie Quan: I feel like if we stop rapping about gun violence, it won’t be as much gun violence. I feel like the music plays a big part in cultural activities you know what I’m saying. For example, if I’m rapping about nothing but guns, violence and opp music, I know at my shows, it’s liable to be a fight or some guns in the vicinity, so I try to just practice what I preach. I know we are all going through everyday problems, and I just try to be relatable to the everyday person. Everybody don’t have a gun, but I know everybody is going through something, so I just try to keep my music relatable to the people, and when I say change the narrative, I want you to feel it before you can hear it. It’s more like motivational, inspirational, hustling, it’s motivating, it’s the get you up and go do the right thing then when you hear this kind of music. I don’t want you to go get no gun. Go buy a house or something don’t go buy no jewelry. Just like giving the youth new game. Like I said I’m older now, so I see things totally different.
AllHipHop: I also know that you love real Hip Hop. Who do you feel like are some of the ones really holding it down right now?
Rich Homie Quan: I would definitely say me, beside me, I like what T.I. be doing for Hip Hop. I love what Snoop does for Hip Hop. Master P. J Prince. Notice I said a lot of older people. I like what the new guys are doing for Hip Hop, but those guys are still going. Those are some of my biggest inspirations. They are on their mogul CEO. Another one; I love what Rick Ross be doing. Ross is one of them ones too. Like that’s who I look up to and get a lot of my game from. I just try to take a little bit from all of them and instill it in me to create a monster.
AllHipHop: Who are your “Top 5” favorite rappers dead or alive?
Rich Homie Quan: I gotta say Pac, OutKast, Biggie, DMX, Jeezy.
AllHipHop: So you know we have to talk Biggie. Talk to me about the Biggie verse. This is another chance for redemption because you actually like Biggie and know Biggie’s lyrics, so tell me about this story. We all remember that VH1 Hip Hop Honors night. I want you to show the people that you really know Biggie’s music.
Rich Homie Quan: For one, I forgot what year it was. Lil Kim had reached out to me. VH1 was honoring her. I forgot for what award, but the show was based around her. She called me like Quan I want you to come up here. I want you to perform Biggie. I asked Fab to do it but he’s going to be out of town. Like I said, knowing I didn’t know [the verse], I still said yeah. So I got up there. I had printed the lyrics out because I know I didn’t know. At the soundcheck I bring my lyrics on the paper. I asked the dude to put the lyrics on the teleprompter. I’m going through rehearsal; everything’s going smooth and great. I leave from rehearsal and go get like the Coogi sweater, Timb’s, I’m trying to get in character for Biggie. I’m backstage still practicing my lyrics cause I know I don’t know. As I got out there, the first two lines on the teleprompter, then the teleprompter goes black. When the teleprompter went black, I tried to say what I thought I saw on the paper. As that was a bunch of nothing, and to-this-day, I still don’t know those lyrics..Not that song.
AllHipHop: Get Money is so classic.
Rich Homie Quan: Like I said, I’m from the south. It is a classic, and that’s just one of those classics I didn’t know. I don’t know. I’m a fan of Biggie. I love Biggie though. That just wasn’t one of my Biggie songs though. My favorite song by Biggie is “Notorious Thugs.” Every time I hear it [“Get Money”], I’m like that’s the song I messed up. It’s so big. I’m going to learn it.
AllHipHop: What is the current state of your relationship with Thug? I know there is some respect there.
Rich Homie Quan: There really is no relationship. It’s not a bad one. We don’t currently talk. I’m not gonna fake the funk. I wish him the best in his situation. If I was to see him in the mall, we would head nod and keep it moving. We have major respect for each other. I want to see his situation better. I pray that he gets out so he can feed his family; other than that, I wish him the best.
AllHipHop: What’s next for Rich Homie Quan, and are there any other endeavors you want to tap into?
Rich Homie Quan: Well what’s next for me? We gonna drop more music. I’m dropping more music in December. Pushing out more of these videos to change the narrative of music. I want to come out with a book. I want to start taking acting classes. It’s time for me to expand and have more than one hustle. I love music; music is what I do, but it’s time for me to open more doors for my team as well.
A new report says that Kanye West is a beast to work with and has been influenced by “Skinheads” and “Nazis.”
In an interview released on Wednesday, November 9th, former staffers, told Rolling Stone that the hate groups “were his greatest inspiration” and that the clothes he designed for his September fashion show in Paris (hoods, snoods, and face-covering masks) were based on their movements.
The worker said the producer-turned-designer was an “HR nightmare,” especially when he told them that he wanted to project the image “We Are N—erish.”
The staffer said the skinhead/Nazi conversation was at first taken to be “a point of inspiration,” but “the minute he turns it around, uses it, [and] puts himself in a position of making money off of it, I feel like he does something to it — he takes ownership over it.”
This was seen when he tried to hock the “White Lives Matter” shirts, a venture deaded because he didn’t own the trademark.
“It was like, ‘What the f###?’” one staffer said. “A lot of us were very uncomfortable with it.”
Outside of the hate speech, Ye was setting it off on people left and right, even on one person for playing Drake’s music.
“Everyone’s always on the verge of losing their job, so the dynamics are total chaos,” one person said.
Another added, “How he is on social media is exactly how he’s like with employees.”
Fredo Bang’s artist, Lit Yoshi, drops a brand new mixtape, LIfe of an Ape today. The incarcerated Baton Rouge rapper kept himself busy in the studio while on house arrest awaiting trial and today is unleashing 21 tracks of pure street fire.
Life of an Ape is light on features – Fredo Bang, Lil Loaded, Sevenhardawy, Big 30, Pooh Shiesty and his own artist, Hotboydue have the honors – but Yoshi has no trouble carrying this project alone. He is definitely not short on subject matter as he waits on decisions filed by his recently-hired new attorney.
Lit Yoshi rose to fame alongside Fredo Bang on the banger, Again, after signing to the former’s Bang Biz Ent label at only 19. Yoshi followed that hit with Straight Facts which garnered him his first 1M views on his own merit. 2021 saw Fredo and Yoshi arrested in Miami after the roommates were the subjects of a Federal search. Lit Yoshi currently resides at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Yoshi’s manager was able to catch up with the rapper by phone recently to discuss his new project and how he’s holding up. You can read that interview below.
Why did you name the project Life of an Ape?
Lit Yoshi: If you know me you know I represent those three letters TBG for those that don’t know what that means. That’s ‘top boy gorilla” which my uncle IVY started. RIP IVY . However I got a song on the project called life of an ape that will give you a better insight on why I named the project life of an ape.
Tell us about your features on the project?
Lit Yoshi: Self-explanatory them my brothers and right now it’s all about family. Maybe later I can get into bigger features. But all we got is us right now. By the way go on YouTube and check out my 1st signed Artists on Head Youngin records Hotboydue. We have a lot of entertainment and a lot of talent.
Tell us how you came up with the 21 tracks on the project?
Lit Yoshi: I was on house arrest so the only thing to do was go to the studio and come back home so I spent a lot of my time in the studio.
How do you feel about your headspace right now?
Lit Yoshi: I need them to know as a man I stand tall and I’m going to make it. Also keep me in your prayers. I have more court dates coming. I’m back in court to make things right. This has helped me open my eyes to see what is real and what is fake around me. All we got is us god and God
What’s your favorite song on the project?
Lit Yoshi: Basically all of them but I’m gonna go with Head Youngin because it’s featuring the best upcoming rapper out of Baton Rouge Louisiana right now.
What does Head Youngin mean to you?
Lit Yoshi: Head Youngin is symbolic of me being on top young. Meaning my maturity level ain’t equal to the average person my age. I know some 40 to 50 year old kids. I also know some 18, 19 year old grown men.
What do you want people to know about from listening to your project?
Lit Yoshi: I want people to know who I am. I want people to know about me. I want people to know when they listen to me they’re listening to some real s###. I want them to know I am the real deal. I’m not a fake.
Tell me about your upbringing?
Lit Yoshi: My real name is Meyoshi Edwards. I grew up with both my mother and father. Middle child to two sisters. I grew up playing basketball in high school. But I always love going to be in the streets. I got expelled from two high schools. But lucky for me I was still able to get a real high school diploma and 2020.
What was your life after high school?
Lit Yoshi: I started rapping when I was 18 years old. I didn’t take rapping seriously, I did it for fun. My uncle IVY, the owner of TBG, put me in the label. On the label was Fredo Bang, Boulevard Quick and G Money. One day I noticed all three of them were in jail. And I was the only one left to represent the label. So I started rapping.
But as soon as they came out, I was back to being in the streets. But after being in jail two or three times. I decided to take wrapping seriously. The streets are no longer for me. I got with Fredo Bang . Did a couple songs with him. Saw my first million views on YouTube on my track Again ft Freddo. So I signed to Bang Biz as Fredo‘s first artist.
