Warren Mckamey, Better Known as ATM Man Man Is The Quintessential Top-Tier Lyricist.

After seeing him featured in the Source, my people reviewed his latest track entitled, “Boss” and they were quite pleased, to say the least.  Once ATM Man Man dives into his verse he quickly smooths over any quibbles about authenticity or if he is a legit solo artist.  His up-tempo and surgical delivery is well-paced and concise, as there is nary a wasted simile or metaphor to be found.

Once apart of the hip hop group cash camp that was signed to universal records in the early 2000s, ATM Man Man is now managed by Rich Jay (@richjaythe_music_manager) and the two seem to have struck gold together.  Fresh off of “talent show” dubbed a lyrical exercise with world renowned lyrist King Los, ATM Man Man is back captivating hip hop fams both old and anew with his latest release “Boss.”

The spark to chase a dream can happen early on in an artist’s life. When he was just a child, ATM Man Man was already deeply immersed in hip-hop. He was freestyling and writing raps and recording them over cassettes tapes while he was still at South Waco Elementary.

His lyrics are handled most elegantly when he uses drug production and dealing as a metaphor for his own influence and creativity on Boss: “Got wait (weight) like a ps2 loading, feeling like the rock all these boes (pounds of marijuana) I be throwing.”  His lyrics easily go over the head of the casual music listener but those that understand creative word play cannot have enough of ATM Man Man’s music.  His ability to use double entendres are reminiscent of early lil wayne tracks.

Aside from the brilliant drug/street poetry, the production work from Paul Rogers of Addict of sounds studios flawlessly captures the true esscesse of hip hop.  It is mastered to perfection Allowing the track to be consumed by its audience how ATM Man Man intended it to be.

As we dig deeper into who ATM Man Man is, we find that the title of the track suits him very well as he is a self-made millionaire living in the Fort Worth area of Texas.

Boss take us through nonstop punchlines and double entendres.  The video shot by iconic is just as entertaining as the lyrics as ATM Man Man is shown as a boss handling unruly employees.  It is great seeing an artist that is not afraid to show himself in videos that show off their personality.  I mean how many times have we all watched the same video, waving guns with a bunch of fellas?  It is great to see an artist breathing fresh air into the hip hop and music video game.

ATM Man Man has making quite a name for himself and I do not see the momentum stopping any time soon.  If you have not already, we encourage you to check out ATM Man Man and his music.  We promise his track Boss will not disappoint.  We expect him to signed to a major soon!

Rapper Lil Troy Survives Fiery 18-Wheeler Crash In Texas

Houston rapper Lil Troy has finally spoken out on surviving a life-threatening 18 wheeler fire on the I-10 in Texas.

Once a Billboard charting artist, the voice behind “Wanna Be a Baller” almost lost it all in his new career as a trucker on Monday, Dec. 6th.

The owner of Birklett Trucking Company, a company he created in Missouri City, spoke exclusively to ABC 13 about how God and his quick thinking saved his life.

He said, “I think God has a better plan for me.”

“Right before I got ready to exit, I started to see fire and flames coming up from the hood. I was like, ‘Oh, I got to get out this truck.’ You know what I’m saying? It’s fire!” he explained.

The rapper, whose real name is Troy Lane Birkett, said that he pulled the truck over and big rig before it was engulfed in flames off the Fry Road exit. Firefighters were called to the scene.

“It took them a while to put the fire out. While they were there, it went ‘Boom’ again! So, I thank God for the fire department,” Lil’ Troy said. “They came and made sure nobody else got injured at the same time.”

The only things he had left from the fire were his keys, his phone, and a pair of glasses.

A fire so big might make one believe this is not the lane for him … maybe he should go back to rapping. Troy is clear that at 55, he is committed to his new life, and this accident will not deter him.

He is already working with the insurance company to get another vehicle.

“If you notice, I hit the highway making money the fly way. You know what I’m saying? Truck driving is the new way,” he said.

Z-Wayne Releases “Please Excuse My Absence”

Coming off a hiatus, Washington D.C. MC Z-Wayne releases his new project titled Please Excuse My Absence, which showcases an older, more mature version of him that is not afraid to curate heartfelt and transparent music.

Composed of 10 tracks, PEMA is undoubtedly the D.C. native most compelling and transparent work from him to date.

What’s music like?

Think of an enticing mix of Rod Wave, Roddy Ricch, and Z’s own flair through this body of work. Features on the project are Young Moe and NSC Kai.

“It’s all for my son and to be a good role model for my community,” Wayne said. “During my break from music I thought about life and what I needed to do to better my mental health for my family and I. No longer will I be just to be ‘lit’ pursuing rap music, but to be an icon that the kids can look up to.”

It serves as a reintroduction to Z from his younger days making his breakout hit “Ibaka” from music due to new fatherhood and adjusting to a world that’s dealt with a global health pandemic.

With more music set to drop after this, PEMA sets to begin the rise of Z-Wayne as a relatable rapper full of talent. PEMA is available on all platforms.

A break is needed sometimes to procure your best work and Z-Wayne fully embraced his artistry with this release.

Flavor Flav Has Domestic Battery Charge DROPPED

A domestic battery charge against Flavor Flav has been dismissed in Nevada.

Flavor Flav pleaded no contest to a lesser charge of coercion after admitting he took his girlfriend’s cellphone during a domestic dispute. The 62-year-old rapper, whose real name is William Jonathan Drayton Jr., was ordered to pay $640 in fines for the nonviolent misdemeanor.

“Mr. Drayton and his family are grateful to bring an amicable close to this matter and appreciate everyone’s support as he continues his one-year journey of sobriety,” Flavor Flav’s lawyers David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld said in a press statement.

The Public Enemy hypeman was arrested for alleged domestic violence in October. Police responded to a disturbance at his home in a Las Vegas suburb and booked him on a battery charge.

A criminal complaint accused Flavor Flav of poking the alleged victim in the nose, throwing her down and taking her phone. The woman’s name was redacted in court and police documents, but she was identified as someone dating the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and the mother of one of his children.

Flavor Flav has a history of domestic violence. He spent a month in jail for assaulting his then-girlfriend in 1991.

He was also accused of threatening his then-fiancée’s 17-year-old son with a knife in 2012. He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor attempted battery and was ordered to take a domestic violence counseling course in 2014.

Rick Ross, Meek Mill, and a Leash, Oh My: IMPOSSIBLE Beef!

On Friday (Dec.10), Rick Ross is set to drop his latest studio album, Richer Than I Ever Been. As usual, Meek Mill, has been helping to promote the project. So, where’s the beef? The rock-solid journalists at MediaTakeout News allege that, “Meek and Ross have been beefing now for years.” It also purports, on his new album, Ross “disses” the Philly MC.

To bolster these claims, MTO News — which employs the utmost integrity standards — also insists, “Meek wants Ross to let him out of his contract, so that he can sign to Jay Z’s RocNation. But Ross is refusing to let Meek go, unless Meek pays him a HUGE fee.” Oh my, is this the Impossible Beef of which the hard-hitting news outlet speaks?

Perhaps, the Scooby Doo detectives at MTO are on to something. Meek’s Twitter has since disappeared. Someone grab, Shaggy–where did it go?

THEN, there’s also a photo. Its accompanying IG caption includes “Philly X Brooklyn Vibes.” Yes, sir. MTO‘s cunning deductive power decides this constitutes the Expensive Pain purveyor’s longing to join Roc Nation. Ruh-Roh!

https://www.instagram.com/p/CVUEujxsE0u/

In addition, MTO offers more uncontroverted evidence. It asserts that the Biggest Boss lyrically dismembers the “On My Soul” rapper. “Little Havana” contains the caustic lyrics.

“… N##### souls being sold and still on a leash / Roger Goodell boy, he in a corniche / I was really throwing money, I really saw Meech / And I let them rappin’ n##### get closer to Meek / It ain’t bottle made the most, but let’s make a toast / ‘Cause a lot of n##### told and kept it on the low…” – Rick Ross

In summation, MTO makes bold declarations. It alleges that a soulless, financially-strapped Meek Mill is big mad. Is he “on a leash,” tangled in a costly MMG contract? So, is this beef good? Or, is it purely impossible?

IN-L Is The Creative Doing It All In The Music Industry

Nathaniel Lamont White was born and raised in Liberty City, Miami, Florida. After completing his studies throughout his adolescent years, he enrolled in the military where he was stationed in Washington D.C. and Norfolk, VA. Throughout this time, his passion for music was influenced by producers, rappers, singers, songwriters, and DJs from the 90’s to the modern era. Eventually, it grew into a dream that he would later pursue under the alias IN-L which symbolizes his love for music and the love that his fanbase has for his artistry.

IN-L began releasing music in September of 2021 but has already achieved the milestone of releasing over 40 songs, charting twice on the Apple Music charts. He is versatile across multiple genres including R&B, soul, pop, EDM, hip hop, alternative, and indie, among others. As his catalog manifests his recognition in the industry, IN-L continues to bring the heat. His latest project, performed by the artist, Leeny Pearls, was written, produced, and arranged by IN-L.

Its inspiration came from his struggles and experiences through poverty while growing up in the Sugar Hill projects in Miami Florida. It’s an expression of all he’s been through but also a beacon for those enduring the same hardships. IN-L aims to motivate listeners to keep fighting no matter what, always reaching for their dreams, never quitting on themselves. The lyrics are authentic, speaking on those moments where you feel abandoned by those around you. Ultimately, IN-L uses the song to uplift any going through it, reminding them that everything they need to overcome is within them.

There are many creatives in the industry, but none quite like IN-L. His catalog is proof of that fact. Follow him online and be sure to check out his present and upcoming projects.

Rich the Kid Ordered To Pay Fashion Nova Hundreds-Of-Thousands Of Dollars

It seems that troubled rapper Rich the Kid is back in the news … and it ain’t for music.

A new lawsuit alleges that the “Breakin’ U Off” artist will be breaking off clothing retailer Fashion Nova six figures after reneging on a deal.

According to The Blast, a default judgment will require RTK to dish out $132,637.75 to the famous brand —$100,000 in damages, $29,526 in interest, and $3,111 in fees associated with the case.

In 2018, at the height of his career, Fashion Nova hired him as a celebrity ambassador.

For his services, the company gave him a $100,000 advance. His responsibilities as an ambassador included doing some promotions, shout-outs on his social media, and a mention in one of his upcoming songs.

Apparently, he did none of this.

When the lawsuit was first filed, RTK remarked that “S–t is crazy m########### tryna sue a n#### left and right” and that “It’s time for us to promote ownership, not that slave s###.”

But a Los Angeles County Court believes that the people suing him are in the right, affirming that he did in fact, break his endorsement contract.

As reported by AllHipHop.com, Rick the Kid has a history of breaking his contracts.

In 2020, his management sued him for not honoring a contract winning over $1 million.

A California judge granted Blueprint Artist Management, the former management company for Rich the Kid, a default judgment. In total the “No Loyalty” rapper has to cough up $960,614 in damages + $143,696.28 in interest + $873 in costs, for a grand total of $1,105,183.28.

Originally, Blueprint Artist Management sued Rich the Kid for $3.5 million, claiming that he owed them for their services. The firm noted that they signed him three years ago in May 2017 to a potentially lucrative deal that would have allowed them to reap 20% of his gross income.

Their grievance is that the emcee has not paid them $960,000 in commission + an additional $500,000. According to the complaint, Blueprint “repeatedly demanded the payment of its long-overdue Commissions” but Rich refused to pay them according to their agreement.

Rich the Kid has not commented on his most recent loss in court.

Master P Explains Why He His Son Hercy Decided To Leave Tennessee State After Injury

People really want to support HBCUs … but sometimes the lack of resources plays a significant part in why quality students go to white schools or transfer out.

That at least is the case for Hip-Hop mogul Master P’s son.

The No Limit founder has raised outstanding student-athletes, ballers that could write their tickets to any D1 school. To “level the playing field,” he allowed his son Hercy Miller to attend Tennessee State and play in their basketball program.

However, after the school failed to provide proper attention to Hercy after he injured his hip during the season’s first game on Nov. 9 against Alabama A&M, the “Make ‘Em Say Ugh” chart-topper is yanking his son from the school.

“We’ve got a great program at Tennessee State, we’ve got great people, we loved the culture, we just don’t have enough trainers,” Master P said in a statement. “We don’t have enough medical people to take care of what needs to be taken care of. We don’t have the technology that the Dukes and all these major universities have. An injury like this could have been prevented.”

According to The Tennessean, the injury almost ended the young man’s promising career.

Four days after he suffered the injury, the school’s medical team cleared Hercy to play in the next two games against Norfolk State (9 minutes) and Fisk (17 minutes).

Master P, as a concerned parent, pushed for his son to get a second opinion and even took him to a specialist.

“The specialist said if we would have waited any longer he probably wouldn’t have been able to play basketball anymore because next his ACL was going to go out and all other kinds of injuries,” Master P said.

Despite him taking his son out of the program, Master P is not bashing the school. Instead, he pointed to the lack of funding that Historically Black Colleges and Universities receive from donations, endowments, state and federal funding.

“That’s when I said I have to bring awareness to what’s going on at all these HBCUs — underfunding with no resources. I’m going to be with all the HBCU programs to bring awareness to this but I’m not going to sacrifice my son’s career and his future.”

The school begs to differ. They say that the issue is not lack of funding.

TSU director of sports medicine Trevor Searcy said, “The issue is not that we’re underfunded at all. It’s actually the opposite. The issue is that since (athletics director Mikki Allen) has been here we’ve been growing and when you grow your facilities have to grow as well and that’s what we’re in the process of doing now.”

To that … Master P called b#######.

He said, “How can we help HBCUs if we’re going to sugarcoat the truth? Then we are failing the next generation. What do we need to fundraise for if staff members are saying we have everything we need?”

Tristan Thompson Wants Gag Order for Maralee’s Mouth

Yesterday (Dec. 9), Tristan Thompson requested an emergency gag order. This, is in response, to the salacious paternity suit involving Maralee Nichols. The defensive move will prevent more mess from hitting the public. As court proceedings progress, neither party shall publicly discuss its intimate details.

First off, the Kings center believes the former fitness trainer is a certified sack-chaser. He attests she solely desires, “to achieve some sort of notoriety and gain for herself in this lawsuit,” this according to TMZ. To bolster his point, he contends that phony social media posts and media appearances keep spewing strategic lies. He contends that these fibs focus on himself and on his family.

So now, the ballsy baller wants the first-time mother to ante up. A $35,000 bond suggests that any slip ups will be paid out. Regarding the entire case — discovery and evidence — she will be financially responsible if she jeopardizes the confidentiality order.

Last week, People reported on the successful delivery of Maralee’s son. Of which, she alleges that Tristan is the father. If, so, this will be the third child for the NBA player. Thompson’s eldest son, Prince, is four year old. His mother is Jordan Craig. While, Khloe Kardashian is the mother to his three year-old daughter named True.

In addition, to these legal actions, she faces the obligations of motherhood. Hopefully, to their issues, the pair will find an amicable solutions.

The National African American Gun Association (NAAGA) Talks Hip-Hop, Ahmaud Abery & Kyle Rittenhouse

Phil Smith, the President of the National African American Gun Association, is an unlikely candidate to lead a movement advoating for Black people to exercise their 2nd Amendment Rights. Smith, a graduate of the University of California at Davis, became a gun enthusiast a few years ago and turned around and founded NAAGA. NAAGA wants “to have every African American introduced to firearm use for home protection, competitive shooting, and outdoor recreational activities,” according to the group’s mantra. The group is unapologetically pro 2nd amendment organization, but also has roots deep within the community. To put it bluntly, they want Black people to legally exercise the right to be educated gun owners in order to build a stronger community that is able to protect itself.

With members in every state in the U.S.A., tens of thousands of Black people are on the same frequency as Smith and his aim to “expose, educate, and motivate as many African American men and women.” As for the membership, he also says that the largest group of members consists of Black women and he has women like Kia Glenn in key positions. “We have a strong desire to become proficient with firearms – training and education. We want to become well-versed with the laws in our respective states in order to protect our homes and our families,” Glenn said. “We want to walk to our cars alone, or at night without the feeling of being helpless should someone attempt to attack us.”

Phil Smith of NAAGA talks to Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur about a myriad of topics surrounding the issue of gun ownership. He talks about reaching out to Hip-Hop heads, talking to kids, what guns truly mean to Black people, and even the not-so-nuanced differences between other organizations like the NRA. Moreover, he talks about recent headline-topping topics like the murder of Ahmaud Arbery and Kyle Rittenhouse. Smith lays out his plan for his organization, including adequate training for potential gun owners.

Wiz Khalifa Partners With Liquid Death To Promote Mountain Bong Water

Pittsburgh-bred emcee Wiz Khalifa is one of the most well-known marijuana enthusiasts in the world. He even has his own popular weed strains, products, and concentrates called Khalifa Kush.

The “Black & Yellow” hitmaker is making more cannabis-connected business moves. Wiz Khalifa partnered with the Liquid Death water company to promote the brand’s Mountain Bong Water.

The Mountain Bong Water collaboration was inspired by Wiz Khalifa filming himself pouring Liquid Death into his own bong. That Instagram video served as the catalyst for a relationship between Khalifa and Liquid Death.

“I loved collaborating with the team on the video and seeing everything come to life,” says Wiz Khalifa. “The idea came from a smoked-out team brainstorm and something that’s true to my daily life! I only smoke the best weed from Khalifa Kush so it would only make sense to pair it with the best bong water from Liquid Death.”

A description for Mountain Bong Water on the Liquid Death website reads:

What makes Liquid Death Mountain Bong Water different from our original Mountain Water? Absolutely nothing. We literally just added the word “bong” to this page. You get the same great mountain water from the Alps with the same natural electrolytes in the same infinitely recyclable aluminum cans. But Wiz Khalifa likes putting it in his bong so we thought you might too. However, our lawyers say we should make clear that you should never buy a bong, think about a bong, write the word bong, say the word bong, or even draw a bong. In fact, close out of this page right now.

Dame Dash Recalls Diddy’s CCNY Stampede Tragedy While Discussing Astroworld Festival

Ten people lost their lives as a result of the catastrophic crowd surge at the 2021 Astroworld Festival. Hundreds of others were also reportedly injured during the Travis Scott-hosted concert.

Local authorities are said to be investigating the incident. Meanwhile, Travis Scott and other organizers are facing multiple lawsuits, including a $10 billion suit filed by Brent Coon & Associates on behalf of 1,547 Astroworld Festival attendees.

The Astroworld Festival disaster is not the first time people were killed by a crowd crush while attending an entertainment event. Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Damon “Dame” Dash recently appeared on Allison Kugel’s Allison Interviews podcast, and he spoke about losing an acquaintance in a similar circumstance.

“This stuff happens. It happened with Puff at the basketball game. I was there. Like seven people died. They got smothered,” recalled Damon Dash. “I’ve seen that happen. I’ve actually lost friends in situations like that. I would hope that it’s not intentional.”

Nine People Died From A Crowd Stampede In 1991

A total of nine people died from a crowd stampede at a celebrity basketball game that took place at the City College of New York (CCNY) on December 28, 1991. Over seven years later, a New York State Court of Claims judge ruled the City University of New York institution was responsible for 50% of the damages.

The judge held the CCNY event’s promoters – Dwight “Heavy D” Myers and a then-largely unknown mogul-on-the-rise named Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs (aka Diddy) – liable for the other 50%. However, the ruling had no legal effect on Heavy D nor Puff Daddy because the Court of Claims only deals with cases against the state.

“I feel sorry. It’s a tragedy and a terrible thing. I wasn’t there. I don’t know the homeboy [Travis Scott]. I can’t blame nobody, but those things have happened. I’ve been a part of those kinds of tragedies,” stated Damon Dash during his interview with Allison Kugel.

He continued, “I’ve seen what it looks like to see people get smothered in the confusion and the chaos that comes with it. I’ve actually been in that atmosphere. I actually know what it feels like to be in that situation. I was in the stands because I got in early, but they all got stuck in the staircase and s###. I lost my friend from school. Her name was Dawn and she died.”

Travis Scott Faces Backlash For Encouraging His Fans To “Rage”

Many critics placed a significant portion of the blame for the Astroworld Festival tragedy on Travis Scott. The Houston-raised rapper faced backlash for continuing his set for a full 40 minutes after officials declared the festival a “mass casualty event” and for attending an after-party at Dave & Buster’s later that evening.

Plus, faultfinders pointed to Travis Scott’s history of encouraging his fans to “rage” at his concerts. Scott was sentenced to one year of court supervision after pleading guilty to reckless conduct charges after his actions at the 2015 Lollapalooza festival.

The JackBoys frontman was also arrested on suspicion of inciting a riot in Arkansas two years later. He eventually took a plea deal for a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge in that case. Other violent crowd surges happened at Travis Scott events in 2017 and 2019 as well.

Remy Ma Announces Plans For An “Epic” Women’s Battle Rap Event

Remy Ma started her musical career as a battle rapper and now she’s giving back to the scene, hosting an “epic” women’s battle rap event.

Remy made the announcement during a recent interview with Threeletterman of “PsaHipHOP.” “I’m putting together something real big for the females,” she said. The “All the Way Up” rapper let slip that the event is something other than a tournament or competition and is set to take place on February, 12 next year.

Remy Ma Is A Battle Rap Fan

Elsewhere during the interview, Remy Ma talked about her relationship with her “little hard-headed sister,” battle rapper Ms. Hustle. She revealed her pride at Hustle’s success and the progress of women’s battle rap in general.

“I’m a fan of a lot of the women in it,” Remy Ma said. “I feel right now for women in Hip-Hop period, it’s a great time. This is the most women at one time to have been successful. Women are some of the highest paid artists right now and I want to be able to see that translate over into battle rap. If I can help facilitate that, then I will.”

As the discussion turned to Remy’s early years, she recalled battling guys older than her for money while she was in high school.

“It’s so crazy to see how far it’s come and it’s a great thing,” the New York native shared. “People don’t understand how hard that is to do. To stand there, to not mess up, to not forget. To be in the moment and just perform. Everything that it encompasses.”

She continued and referred to the disparity between talent and income in the rap game. “I know people that’s amazing. Their pen is unmatched and they never really got to see the money that can come from that talent.” However, she added, “And at the same time, I know so many people that’s f###### trash and they super up.”

Will Remy Ma Make A Return To Battle Rap?

Remy Ma was reminded of her battle on the recently revived “Fight Club” with Jersey City’s Lady Luck back in 2004. Though she won the battle and the $20,000 cash prize, she has no plans to make a return as a battle rapper and believes she is more effective playing a behind-the-scenes role.

“This is me being sincere,” declared Remy. “I totally am up to it. My pen just go, that’s something that I would be able to do. But I also know my strength and my power. I been in the game long enough to know how far my reach is. I would be way more beneficial on the other side in being able to bring people that money than competing with them.”

Ultimately Remy said while she is frequently asked to battle, “I don’t want to try to claim the crown.”

She added, “I’m a boss and that’s how I move now. The old me…I do certain s### to prove points to people. I aint really got nothing to prove to nobody no more.”

Notably, Remy Ma is a long-time supporter of Ultimate Rap League and Queen of the Ring and has appeared at recent events. She and her husband Papoose dropped an exclusive freestyle at the leagues’ joint event, “Kings vs. Queens 2.”

Drake and URL

Remy Ma and her friend Juliette “Juju” Castaneda also pulled up to “Til Death Do Us Part,” the event curated by Drake, URL, and Caffeine.tv. Drake has a longstanding relationship with URL and facilitated their relationship with the streaming platform. Drake revealed plans for the first million dollar battle at the last URL event and announced more is to come.

“Shout out to The Boy,” she said, referring to the Canadian superstar rapper. “I had conversations with him and I think he feels the same way that I feel about it.” Remy Ma said Drake understands the skill, talent, and grind required to be a battle rapper and the role he can play in putting money directly in their pockets. “There’s nothing worse than being famous and broke,” she said.

The Terror Squad member shared one final tidbit on her plans outside of music. Remy and fellow Terror Squad member Fat Joe will be back hosting “The Wendy Williams Show” in January. The duo hosted the show last month while Wendy was on medical leave and will return for “about a week” at the top of the year.

Bone Thugs member Bizzy Bone was upset that Three 6 Mafia representatives were apparently mocking him during the performance. Water bottles were thrown, and a full-on brawl broke out.

Bizzy Bone apologized for his part in igniting the altercation. The “Bone Thugs-N-Harmony vs Three 6 Mafia” Verzuz matchup was able to continue with both groups running through some of their biggest hit records.

Havoc Says Mobb Deep’s Beef With Jay-Z Made Him “Feel Stupid”

Mobb Deep’s years-long beef with Jay-Z is the stuff of rap folklore. The hostile back and forth mainly consisted of shots being fired at each other on diss tracks and ultimately simmered down.

During a recent appearance on Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion podcast, Mobb Deep’s Havoc opened up about the once bitter feud.

He was asked what the energy was like when they ran across Jay-Z. “We never really bumped into Jay,” he replied. “The crazy s### about the beef with Jay is Prodigy said something in a magazine…x, y, z and whatever, whatever. Jay-Z didn’t take it lightly. He came at us. I sent a sub but it wasn’t obvious but Prodigy…”

“Went the whole verse on him,” interjected another guest.

Havoc continued and recalled that though “he came at n##### necks and did the s### with the picture and all of that,” referring to the infamous incident at Summer Jam when Jay-Z pulled out Prodigy’s ballerina picture, their beef ” wasn’t about nothing.”

“So, when the years passed and when finally Mobb Deep and Jay-Z is in the same room walking, it made me feel like I had beef with him and I didn’t have no beef with him,” he explained. “I’d rather have been his ally than to have beef with him. It’s just weird because it wasn’t about nothing but now, I’m in the same room with him and I feel like it’s something but it’s nothing. So that s### just made me feel stupid”

However, Havoc said they have since spoken after Jay-Z reached out to do some business and things are now cool between them.

Back in 2017, Jay-Z revealed he spoke to Prodigy and said that they were able to mend their relationship before he died.

I had super respect for Prodigy,” Jay said on the Rap Radar podcast. “In order for me to really spar with you, I gotta respect you. I sampled him for my first album, so you know I was aware of him and had respect for him. He and I spoke before he passed; I saw him in the club maybe five years ago. He just came over and we kicked it. It wasn’t about nothing. Just sad, you know? Blessings to his family. Young, young man…”

Meanwhile, Havoc recently linked with fellow New York native, Styles P for the collaborative project, “Wreckage Manner” which they discussed with AllHipHop. The first video from the project, “Dreams 2 Nightmares” was released on December 3.

L.A Reid Suggests Beyoncé & Mariah Carey “Verzuz” Clash; Twitter Explodes

Since the outset of the pandemic and beyond, Verzuz battles kept music lovers across the globe entertained. One thing fans of the celebratory competition like to do is debate their fantasy match-ups. L.A Reid has touted one particular “Ultimate Divas” face-off that has fans in a frenzy.

The legendary record executive sparked a Verzuz debate that has fans of the two superstar singers fiercely clashing on social media. L.A revealed who he thought would be a good match for the show during an appearance on The Real.

Offering up the most epic combination he could fathom, he answered, “It’s Mariah Carey versus Beyoncé!”

He and the hosts pointed to the enormity of such an event due to their huge fanbases, massive catalog of hits, and outstanding legacies.

“Bey’s the queen, right? We know Bey is the queen,” L.A added. “But sometimes Mariah might be slightly underrated for how long her career has lasted, how many hits she has, and she practically owns Christmas.”

Twitter Goes Into Debate Mode

Once the clip began to circulate, fans on social media lost their minds. Twitter users began pitting the talented songstresses’ vocal abilities and accolades against the other.

One user wrote, “The fuhh he say? I love Beyonce and I love Mariah, but Mariah would destroy vocally. If it is dance competition bey would win.”

While another questioned Mariah’s hits outside of her iconic “All I Want For Christmas”.

“But isn’t the point of Verzuz supposed to be based on going hit for hit ? I’m sorry but at some point Ms.Claus gotta play something other thenall I want for Christmas, I get it’s her season RN and all but”

Meanwhile, others debated whether the match was an even one, given their differing eras musically.

“Mariah Carey debuted in 1990 Beyoncé’s solo career started in 2003. Mariah and Beyoncé are not peers.”

“They are from different gens, not a good match. The only credible match for Mariah would be against Whitney Houston or Celine Dion. Whitney is out for obvious reasons and Celine is not black, but if they waive that technicality I could see Celine entertaining the idea.”

Mariah Carey Underrated?

L.A Reid’s assessment of Mariah as “underrated” puzzled some but made sense to others.

“Since when having 19 #1’s & known as the best selling female artist of all time with 200 million records sold make you underrated ?”

https://twitter.com/noaham101/status/1468361757194346497?s=20

“Too many of y’all are shocked someone called Mariah underrated. Half of y’all not bumping 2/3 of her music and the real gems are there. I’m a die hard MC fan but I can easily see Beyonce winning a verzuz. Beyonce is known for being a hit maker. MC does it for love of the craft.”

However, one of the most popular responses to the thread summed up the situation neatly.

“1. They are not peers 2. Mariah isn’t underrated 3. Neither are ever getting on that platform”
