Tyler, The Creator Talks Being “Ruined” By Kendrick Lamar’s “Family Ties” Verse

On Baby Keem’s “Family Ties” single, Kendrick Lamar essentially offered a warning to his rap peers. K. Dot declared he is “smoking on your top five tonight.”

Apparently, “Family Ties” affected Grammy-winning Hip Hop artist Tyler, The Creator. XXL magazine interviewed the 30-year-old “Lumberjack” performer for a cover story.

“You know why it ruined me? Because it’s someone at that level still gunning,” said Tyler about Lamar’s verse. “He’s trying new voices. He’s trying new s###. He’s still learning. You can tell he was off his phone for a few months.”

A post shared by Tyler, The Creator (@feliciathegoat)

Tyler, The Creator admitted to repeatedly calling Kendrick Lamar about “Family Ties.” The much-talked-about bars actually inspired Tyler to “just stay weird and stay tryin’.”

This was a different reaction to “Family Ties” than Freddie Gibbs’s response. The Indiana emcee dropped a track called “Vice Lord Poetry” where he raps, “The Earth ain’t big enough for both of us, you gotta get done. They saying they smoking top fives. But you ain’t burned up the one.”

2021 was a very prosperous year for Tyler, The Creator. The Los Angeles-based rapper/producer found commercial and critical success with his sixth studio album Call Me If You Get Lost.

Tyler’s latest body of work debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 169,000 first-week units. Call Me If You Get Lost also received near-universal acclaim from professional music reviewers.

Before Kendrick Lamar expressed his intention to smoke the best of his contemporaries, Tyler, The Creator also cautioned people not to doubt his skills. Earlier this year, he stated, “I just had to remind everyone, ‘Don’t let the wig get it twisted, y’all n##### can’t f### with me.’”

Nick Cannon Pranks Kevin Hart By Customizing His Private Jet

The #PrankWars between Nick Cannon and Kevin Hart rages on. Cannon fired the latest shot at his self-described “best frenemy” by placing his face on Hart’s plane.

The former Real Husbands of Hollywood castmates have been publicly pranking each other for months. Nick Cannon bought Kevin Hart a lama for his birthday. Hart fired back by doxxing Cannon’s real phone number on digital billboards.

This latest round in the battle also doubled as a promotional tactic for Nick Cannon’s new syndicated daytime talk show. Nick Cannon debuted on Monday with Kevin Hart as the first celebrity guest.

“Snuck into @kevinhart4real private hanger over the weekend and personally wrapped his Leer Jet with my whole Face! So now everywhere he flys he will be promoting my New Show!!! Gotcha Back Byaaaach!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🖕🏾🖕🏾🖕🏾🖕🏾 #PrankWars #WeDontStop #NickCannonShow Kevin Rides The Cannon!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣,” wrote Cannon on Instagram.

A few hours later, Nick Cannon also posted a clip of Kevin Hart’s appearance on his TV program. Hart admitted to his adversary, “It feels like I’ve lost. That’s how it feels, Nick. It feels like you had one in the hole and you saved it.”

However, Kevin Hart was not ready to wave the white flag yet. The Philadelphia native promised Cannon has a “good one coming.”

Not only are Nick Cannon and Kevin Hart #PrankWars rivals, but they are also competitors for viewers. Hart has his own talk show titled Hart To Heart on the Peacock streaming platform.

Afro Nation Puerto Rico is scheduled to take place March 24-26 at Balneario de Carolina, San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Afro Nation brand was said to be founded on “good vibes” and “#BlackExcellence.”

Lizzo Calls Out Institutional Racism During “Global Citizen Live” Performance

Lizzo used her platform to share an important message while performing in Central Park for Global Citizen Live at the weekend. After belting out some of her most popular hits including “Good as Hell” and “Truth Hurts,” the singer addressed social issues, slamming institutionalized racism in the U.S. and across the world.

“Thank you so much to Global Citizen for having me,” she said. “You know, b######## girl from Detroit by way of Houston, Texas, doing big a** things with my life. I’m just so grateful every time I can step on the stage and sing for y’all. Thank you so much.”

Speaking to a captive audience Lizzo pointed out the significance of the event’s location.

“I have to shout out that the land we’re standing on is Seneca Village,” Lizzo told the crowd. “Before it was Central Park, it was Seneca Village — and if you don’t know what it is, that was an affluent African American community that lived here.”

She continued, “And they were evicted and bulldozed so [the city] could build this park.”

“As we talk about climate change and making the world a better place and solving homelessness, we also have to talk about the institutionalized racism that happens in this country all the time,” Lizzo shared.

Speaking on the need to highlight the racism of the past, Lizzo noted, “If we don’t talk about our history constructively, how can we build a better future?” she added. “It’s time to talk about things, and it’s time to make a change. And it starts within. You got to better yourself, so you can be better to others.”

Snoop Dogg Announces New Album “Algorithm” and Def Jam Kids’ Album

Monday night’s (Sept. 27) “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” featured an interview with Snoop Dogg where he discussed the latest happenings in his career. He talked about his new role as an executive creative and strategic consultant for Def Jam and disclosed details of the two albums he’s been working on.

He reveals one is his album, set to drop in November titled “Algorithm” taking him to the 19th studio album of his career. Snoop tells Fallon that the project will feature “a lot of big-name acts,” although he doesn’t give off any clues as to who he might be collaborating with.

Snoop talks about the significance of his role giving details of the Def Jam kids album he’s a part of, also due out this year.

“I was a fan of Def Jam Records as a kid, and knowing the talent that they have over there and the opportunity that was waiting on me, I wanted to go over there and give a lot of opportunity to the artists over there to get some information, some wisdom and some guidance from me and then also develop some new acts and give some opportunity,” he tells Fallon of his new position at the historic label.

“So Def Jam was the perfect place for me, considering how much I love it and how much it means to hip-hop and how it really needed somebody like me to change the energy of the building. I’m over there for one reason: to get the music back poppin’ and to make the people feel the way they’re supposed to.”

Snoop was on the show to promote, amongst other projects, his role as a Pastor in 50 Cent’s new series BMF which premiered at the weekend.

Ja Rule & Fat Joe Agreed to an R.Kelly-Free “Verzuz”

Ja Rule and Fat Joe recently graced the “Verzuz” stage in a battle to celebrate their catalog of hits. During a conversation with N.O.R.E and DJ EFN for “Drink Champs” Ja revealed that their hits with R. Kelly were never going to make the setlist. Ja teamed up with the disgraced R&B singer on “Wonderful,” while Fat Joe collaborated with Kelly on We Thuggin’.”

Speaking about the conscious decision they made to omit any of their collaborations with R. Kelly, Ja revealed they came to an agreement about it before the “Verzuz.” He went on to discuss the complex feelings he has regarding R. Kelly’s legacy. He feels torn about the inability to separate art from the artist as is the case in mediums like fine art. He cites the difficulty in doing so as the reason they chose not to play any of their songs with him.

“R. Kelly is flawed,” he says. “R. Kelly is a flawed man. He’s going through his problems. Nobody’s perfect, he’s flawed. What he’s done is what he’s done and he has to account for that. But the art — do we throw it away?”

Ja made the comments while R Kelly was still on trial for sex trafficking in New York. However, R. Kelly was found guilty yesterday (September 27) of charges including bribery, kidnapping, racketeering, sexual exploitation of a child, and sex trafficking involving six victims.

He is currently facing 10 years to life in prison although he’s awaiting trial on charges of child pornography and obstruction of justice in Illinois.

Kanye West’s Father Runs Charity In Dominican Republic

Kanye West’s father Ray West is currently operating a charity in the Dominican Republic.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Kanye West’s former stepmother Brenda Bentley spoke about his dad’s work in the Caribbean. Ray runs the Good Water foundation, which helps victims of prostitution and corruption in the Dominican Republic.

Bentley, who remains close to Ray after being engaged to him twice, says Kanye West’s dad funds the foundation on his own. Although Yeezy and his dad are on good terms, the latter doesn’t rely on his billionaire son to support the charity

“He’s financing the work himself,” Bentley told the Daily Mail. ‘He sells purified water and uses the profits to fund projects like healthcare for women.’

Kanye West’s father was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2018 and returned to the United States for treatment. But after beating cancer, Ray went back to the Dominican Republic to resume his work.

Bentley fears for Ray’s safety due to earthquakes, such as the one that devastated nearby Haiti in August, and criminal activity in the area.

“They get shocks from earthquakes there a lot and he said this one shook him up but that it really didn’t do too much damage,” she said. “It also is dangerous in the DR because of high crime. There’s not a lot of police activity. Most people at Ray’s age would put their feet up but he’s still got his vision. I’ve been there to see his work. He’s doing good.”

Kanye West and his father Ray can be seen in the visuals for “Follow God” from the 2019 album Jesus Is King. Watch the video below.

Offset Helps Cover ‘Friday’ Star Anthony Johnson’s Funeral Costs

Offset donated $5,000 to help cover the funeral costs for Friday star Anthony Johnson.

Johnson’s widow Lexis Jones Mason told TMZ the Migos rapper was one of the multiple donors assisting Johnson’s family. After Johnson’s widow revealed the financial burden of laying her husband to rest, the family received almost $70,000 in donations.

In addition to Offset, comedians Lil Rel Howery and Michael Blackson donated thousands of dollars to the grieving family. Johnson’s widow also received calls from notable names such as Fat Joe, Tommy Davidson, Faizon Love and DC Young Fly.

Johnson passed away at the age of 55 on September 6. He was rushed to a hospital after his nephew found him unresponsive inside a store in Los Angeles. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

No cause of death has been announced thus far. Johnson had no life insurance, making it difficult for his family to handle his funeral costs before Offset and others stepped in to help.

Johnson was best known for playing Ezal in the 1995 film Friday. He also had a memorable role portraying E.Z.E. in 1990’s House Party.

The late actor also appeared in other ‘90s movies such as Lethal Weapon 3, Menace II Society, B.A.P.S. and How To Be A Player. His television work included appearances on Martin and The Jamie Foxx Show.

Kanye West Snaps Up More Real Estate With Purchase Of European Bachelor Pad

Kanye West is moving again.

After living his life in Calabasas for at least seven years, Kanye decided to move to his spiritual sanctuary, Wyoming, in 2018.

The following year, he moved to Chicago, then changed his mind again, ditched Calabasas, and rooted himself in Wyoming.

Now, Donda’s son is setting up residence in Belgium. The news is floating around the European tabloids.

They report that Yeezy is buying a bachelor pad to celebrate being single after six years of marriage to Kim Kardashian. It seems that he blames her home city for some of his misery.

On his new song, “Keep My Spirit Alive,” featuring KayCyy, Royce Da 5’9, Westside Gunn, and Conway the Machine, he raps, “Tell the assassins I escaped from Calabasas.”

According to the Flemish newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, the rapper purchased the property in an exclusive neighborhood outside the city of Antwerp.

Ironically, many of the people in the city don’t even know who Kanye West is. One man named Peter Hoste said, “I think Kanye thought it was funny that I had absolutely no idea who he was.”

It is rumored that Axel Vervoordt, an interior decorator, is helping Kanye turn the place into something stylistically pleasing to the divorcée.

Ironically, Vervoordt designed Kanye’s Calabasas home with Kim Kardashian, creating a minimalist style for the couple and their growing family.

If it is true, this decision to move to a different country and set up his new home comes after Kardashian posted a quote in her Instastory suspected to be meant for her ex (who many believed wanted to reconcile).

It was simple and said, “You were never asking for too much. You were simply just asking the wrong person.”

Kanye’s latest purchase comes on the heels of him buying a $57 million mansion in Malibu, California.

Social Media Reacts To R. Kelly Being Found Guilty

Social media is abuzz with reactions to R. Kelly’s guilty verdict.

After R. Kelly was found guilty on all counts in his racketeering and sex trafficking trial, Twitter was flooded with opinions and comments about the decision. Everything from solace for Kelly’s victims to mockery of the disgraced singer flooded social media as the news spread.

R. Kelly was convicted on one count of racketeering and eight counts of violating the Mann Act in New York. The Mann Act outlaws the transporting of “any woman or girl for the purpose of prostitution or debauchery, or for any other immoral purpose” across state lines.

The charges against R. Kelly included bribery, kidnapping and sexual exploitation of a child. The jury heard weeks of witness testimony about his sexual abuse and grooming of minors in a trial that began in August.

R. Kelly is facing a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison. He could be sentenced to life behind bars.

Sentencing will take place on May 4, 2022. R. Kelly’s defense is considering filing an appeal in the case.

R. Kelly is also scheduled to stand trial for federal child pornography and obstruction charges in Illinois. State-level sexual misconduct charges are looming in Illinois as well as Minnesota.

The Inspiring Story of Jia Ruan’s Rise to Stardom With His Unique Compositions

There is no formula for stardom; it comes as a reward when you become successful. These two are directly proportional. Success is achieved through hard work, and so is stardom. The equation remains the same in every field you pursue, and the music industry is no exception. The rising popularity of social media has made the space overly saturated with fresh talent, making it highly competitive for a newbie to penetrate the industry. Jia Ruan, a rising music sensation on social media, has proved this with sheer talent. He has shown how to distinguish yourself from the crowd by being unapologetically unique.

Jia was born and brought up in New York City. Being born to a renowned New York realtor father, Jia was completely unaware of any kind of struggle until his early twenties. He was educated at one of the most reputed schools in NYC and planned to take over his father’s business after graduation. After high school, he moved to Southern California to enroll in the USC Marshall School of Business. Even though he knew he would get a red carpet entry to the real estate business because of his family legacy, he always felt this was not his cup of tea.

Jia was a curious kid in school. He enjoyed performing on stage and felt a sense of pride when he saw people applauding him. He aspired to be an actor just for the joy of being watched by people. His father suddenly passed away from a heart attack during his college days, turning his planned-out life completely upside down. With the huge investments his father had already made on different properties, Jia and his mother soon found themselves losing their fortune. With no one to take care of the family, Jia quit college and had to figure out a way to support his family.

His mother worked two jobs as a music teacher, and his two younger sisters started working at a café after school. Jia worked at a grocery store as a bagger but wasn’t earning enough to make ends meet. It was then that he found a second job at the music school where his mother was a teacher. Jia started working as a salesman for musical instruments in the evening. This is where he discovered his growing interest in music. The different instruments, their sounds, the higher and lower notes seemed magical to him.

During his days off in the week, Jia would take lessons from his mother to play different instruments. With time, his interest converted into a passion for music, and he began pursuing it as a career. Within a few months, Jia was creating unique compositions that were a blend of different sounds. He mastered the art of blending unconventional sounds like the bass guitar with a piano or a violin with fast drum beats. Being a Gen Z music artist, he utilized his access to social media to find his audience. Jia launched his debut instrumental track, “Vibrations,” in January 2021.

Jia Ruan’s unique sound composition blew up on social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. Unlike other artists, Jia kept his focus more on the sound and less on the lyrics. He expresses different emotions like grief, happiness, confidence, and enthusiasm through music that does not require words. This unique approach has so far kept his fans enthralled, and they are now craving his next release.

His latest release is “On Our Side,” and it has also gained the attention of hundreds of thousands on the two platforms.

Jeff is also winning in the influencer game, with his large number of Instagram and Twitter followers. However, he is the proudest of what they have achieved as a family more than anything else. Since The Johnson Fam YouTube channel was created in September of 2015, it has garnered over two million subscribers and more than 780 million total views over the past six years.

The love of Jeff’s life is Natalia, his high school sweetheart with whom he ended up marrying and building a family. She’s making a name for herself as an influencer by sharing her favorite things in life. This includes traveling and, of course, her family of three. Natalia currently has over 170,000 followers on Instagram, and she focuses her efforts on creating videos about the family and managing her children’s social pages.

The Johnson Fam originally started with Jeff, Natalia, and their two lovely daughters, Olivia and Peyton.  Aside from actively making videos for The Johnson Fam YouTube channel, the sisters are also on Instagram, bringing happiness and inspiration to their over 160,000 followers. They were just recently even featured in a back-to-school fashion campaign by Walmart.

The newest member and only son of the Johnson family is Theodore, who was born in 2020. Like his parents and older sisters, he also makes an appearance on YouTube and Instagram, with tens of thousands of followers. Although not an overly active influencer yet, his fans hope to see more of Theo in the future.

Going forth, Jeff aims to continue building his reputation as a musician and influencer. He still actively leads worship for thousands and is working on his upcoming songs, “A New Life” and “Because You Love Me.” In addition, as a father of a famous family, he aims to continue making entertaining and inspiring content on social media for The Johnson Fam’s growing fanbase.

Debbi James Shares How Struggle Has Shaped Her Life and Music Career

“Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle.” — Napoleon Hill

The above quote is true for everyone who has accomplished something in life. Without effort or struggle, success can never be achieved. Challenges can be different for everyone, but they are an inevitable part of success for every individual. Singer, songwriter, recording artist, and performer Debbi James realized this in her teens and has since emerged as a star in the music industry. The young and charming artist is shining bright with her music, but her story about her struggle to succeed inspires many aspiring artists.

Debbi James was born to an American father and an Israeli mother. Her father, Steve James, was a famous action star in the late ‘80s who can be seen in many popular movies like American NinjaI’m Gonna Get You SuckerDelta Force, etc. Her mother was her driving force, inspiring her to chase her dreams. She even taught her not to be a victim of racism and to take every challenge as a lesson in life. Her amazing parents had a profound impact on her life during her formative years. Unfortunately, Debbi lost her father to pancreatic cancer when she was only 5. It was the biggest setback in her life to lose a parent at such a young age.

Her real struggle began she was 17. It was during this time that Debbi‘s mother died. With no one to take care of her, Debbi had to move in with her grandparents. Debbi was born in France and brought up for most of her life in Israel. This obviously had an impact on her English accent. At 19, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her passion for music as a career. It was then she realized that her English needed a lot of improvement to meet the music industry standards.

With no guide to help her navigate the industry, Debbi started earning a living by working at a local café. Through her day-to-day interaction with other people in customer service, Debbi improved her English accent. When she felt her English had reached the standard where she could take on the music industry, she set off to chase her dreams.

It wasn’t easy for her to penetrate the industry as an outsider, but she remained undeterred in her aim. For years Debbi has relentlessly pursued her goals until she accomplished each of them. From music lessons to accent classes, Debbi left no stone unturned to reach the position she is in now.

Today, Debbi is a prominent singer and performer in the industry. She has toured the world with globally renowned artists like Enrique Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez, and Rotem Cohen. Debbi has also been a part of The X Factor Israel. The young artist is now on a mission to carry the legacy that her father left behind.

She idolizes her father for his hard work that eventually earned him his stellar reputation. Debbi wants to leave a similar impact on people with her music as she intends to empower people.

More than anything, Jonathan wants to help people discover what God wants them to become. He also wants to give back to the community both here and afar. When he managed to create several passive income streams, he took it upon himself to teach others how to do the same. His company, Walmart Auto Pilots, was born from that desire.

At Walmart Auto Pilots, Jonathan and his team helped clients create, grow, and manage e-commerce stores. He walked with them from the beginning until they gain a steady source of revenue themselves. Recently Walmart has made changes making it more difficult for third-party sellers so instead of abandoning his clients he has helped them transition to Facebook Marketplace.  Currently, Seller and his team are preparing to launch Facebook Auto Pilots in October 2021.

Speaking about it, he says, “Facebook Marketplace is a new platform, and we couldn’t be more excited about the internal team we are training right now. We are excited to offer multiple tiers for our investors. From our beta testing, we think Facebook Marketplace is going to be an incredible opportunity to generate weekly cash flow with far less risk than selling on Amazon or Walmart.”

Even though he is no longer a pastor, Jonathan still values integrity and honesty. He has made a name for himself as an upstanding entrepreneur who his clients highly esteem. He tries his best to focus on his current clients, not the ones he might gain in the future. He says being totally present and helpful to them will open more doors and bring in others.

Along the journey, Jonathan has learned several lessons. First, he points out that comparison steals joy. To really grow, he reminds himself that the world has unlimited opportunities. The only competition is yourself.  If he consistently does his best, he knows opportunities will never run out for him. That makes it easy for him to focus on his own growth without feeling threatened by his competitors.

Another lesson he has learned is that personal happiness is the most important thing. In his own life, he has realized that making more money doesn’t necessarily mean more happiness. In fact, more money comes with more stress. Things like managing clients and employees can be very stressful. To counter that, he encourages authenticity. Finding his unique strengths and not doing things the way others do has been very helpful to him.

At present, he is focused on helping as many people as he can. He has a goal to help 1,000 clients become financially free through his companies’ services all while employing underprivileged people in the Philippines. If people can fix the money problems, he believes they will have more freedom to explore what God created them for.
