Bankroll Freddie Found Guilty In Federal Drug Ring & Gun Bust, Acquitted Of Some Serious Charges

Bankroll Freddie faced a federal court in Arkansas, where he was found guilty of multiple charges, including possession and distribution of marijuana and controlled substances.

There was some good news – the rapper was acquitted of several serious charges.

The conviction is part of an extensive federal crackdown on gun and drug crimes in Arkansas, which initially ensnared the rapper in 2022.

The charges stemmed from an extensive investigation into drug and firearms trafficking across the state, linking Freddie to illicit activities.

The federal operation revealed connections between several individuals, including Bankroll Freddie, whose real name is Freddie Gladney III, to a large-scale drug distribution network.

Alongside the drug charges, the indictment also covered the possession of multiple firearms, which were allegedly used to advance their drug trafficking operations.

For Freddie, this verdict marks a considerable downturn in his career and life, contrasting sharply with his public persona as a rising Hip-Hop star.

The federal investigations pinpointed two primary gangs, namely Every Body Killas and Loady Murder Mobb, suggesting these groups were integral to the narcotics distribution in the area.

The FBI reported that Freddie’s involvement was personal and familial, involving his father, Freddie Gladney Jr., and several siblings.

The conversations intercepted through wiretaps indicated a structured drug dealing operation managed by Freddie’s father, engaging his children in various roles within the trafficking enterprise.

Now, Bankroll Freddie faces prison time, reflecting the severity of the charges, which include multiple counts of drug possession with intent to distribute and firearms offenses.

Freddie is an artist signed to Quality Control Music, where his career saw a promising start. He was discovered by QC’s boss, Pierre “CEO P” Thomas, through an Instagram freestyle.

Despite these high-profile affiliations, his future in music now hangs in the balance as he deals with the repercussions of his involvement in criminal activities.

DJs Marc Smooth & Cosi Victorious In Intellectual Property Rights Federal Trademark Battle

Legendary New York City DJs Cosi and Marc Smooth, responsible for The Freedom Collective, have led the charge in winning a major triumph for artistic freedom and intellectual property rights.

News of a federal court ruling recently emerged favoring DJs Cosi and Marc Smooth in their protracted trademark dispute. The ruling safeguards the duo’s use of their esteemed music collective, “The Freedom Party,” against claims of ownership by others. DJs Cosi and Marc Smooth expressed their elation and gratitude in a statement following the court’s decision.

“The NYC club music scene has long been a hotbed of innovation and cultural influence, yet Black and Brown creators have frequently faced undervaluation and exploitation. Countless instances of appropriation have undermined the power and legacy of our artistry,” the duo stated.

The victory, they continued, marks a pivotal moment for the music community, affirming the importance of protecting intellectual property rights and combating cultural appropriation.

“Today, we are thrilled to announce that we’ve won our landmark ‘Freedom Party’ federal trademarking case, canceling our former partner’s previous registration,” they declared.

The decision, delivered by an administrative judge in the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) – Trademark Trial and Appeals Board, sets a precedent for safeguarding creative ownership in an industry often rife with challenges.

“This decision flips the script and is a resounding win for artists and music collectives everywhere,” remarked DJs Cosi and Marc Smooth.

At the heart of the dispute was Herbert Holler’s claim to sole usage and ownership of the Collective’s trademark and brand for his financial gain. However, through rigorous legal proceedings, the duo highlighted the importance of preserving artists’ creative integrity and ownership.

“We demonstrated unwavering resolve in protecting our intellectual property rights against appropriation and misuse,” they emphasized.

The victory holds significance not only for DJs Cosi and Marc Smooth but also for independent Black and Brown music collectives facing similar threats to their intellectual property.

“This win is especially significant for independent Black and Brown music collectives, which often operate with limited resources and face these threats in their partnerships,” noted the duo. “This decision will empower them to assert their ownership confidently and navigate the legal landscape more effectively.”

Acknowledging the support they received throughout the ordeal, DJs Cosi and Marc Smooth expressed gratitude to their loved ones, DJ colleagues, supporters, and the NYC Dope and Freedom Party family. They also thanked the legal team from the law offices of ArentFox Schiff for their dedication and hard work.

“This win is a testament to Black and Brown artists’ unwavering spirit and resilience,” DJs Cosi and Marc Smooth affirmed. “It’s also a win for artistic integrity, cultural heritage, and the future of Black and Brown music and businesses.”

The victory not only secures the rights of DJs Cosi and Marc Smooth but also sends a clear message about the importance of protecting artistic freedom and intellectual property rights in the music industry.

Donald Trump Thinks He Can Win Over Black & Latino Voters With Hip-Hop

Donald Trump, who’s currently embroiled in the now-infamous hush money trial, still has his presidential campaign to worry about. According to a recent article published by the Boston Herald, Trump is intent on winning over Black and Latino voters and thinks enlisting Black Hip-Hop artists and athletes will do the trick. Part of his plan includes a major campaign event at Madison Square Garden featuring Black artists.

Additionally, his aides said Trump has floated the idea of making appearances in Chicago, Detroit and Atlanta with leaders of color and “realigning American politics by flipping Democratic constituencies.”

Five months before the first general election votes are cast, Trump’s campaign appears too disorganized to pull off such a plan. The Trump campaign removed its point person for coalitions and hasn’t appointed a replacement. The Republican Party’s minority outreach offices across the country have been shuttered and replaced by businesses that include a check-cashing store, an ice cream shop and a sex-toy store. Campaign officials admit they are weeks away from rolling out any targeted programs.

“To be quite honest, the Republican Party does not have a cohesive engagement plan for Black communities,” Darrell Scott, a Black pastor and longtime Trump ally who co-founded the National Diversity Coalition for Trump in 2016, said. “What it has are conservatives in communities of color who have taken it upon themselves to head our own initiatives.”

While Trump has a loyal legion of supports, John Legend isn’t one of them. During an interview with former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki earlier this month, Legend said Trump has done little for Black people and is anything but an ally.

“He’s made it clear throughout his life that he believes Black people are inferior,” Legend said. “He believes that to his core, in his bones, he wouldn’t let us live in his buildings back in the day. But also, when you hear some of the stray comments he makes, he clearly believes in a genetic hierarchy of humanity, and it’s racially determined.

“So, he is a tried and true, dyed-in-the-wool racist. In the core of his being, he’s a racist. So, I don’t want to hear what he has to say about what he’s done for Black people. He’s done very little for us and he is at his core, truly, truly a racist.”

Rico Wade Discussed How His Dungeon Family Relationships Changed Just Before He Died

Rico Wade, one-third of Organized Noize and founder of the Dungeon Family collective, died unexpectedly on April 13. Just 52 years old, the proud Atlanta native had a heart valve leak that was supposedly repaired not too long ago, but it clearly failed.

Members of the Dungeon Family—including Sleepy Brown, Ray Murray and Killer Mike—attended a private memorial for Wade on Friday (April 26), showing just how close-knit the crew is. But it wasn’t always that way. As the Dungeon Family was beginning its ascent, albums such as Outkast’s Southernplayalisticadillacfunkymuzik and Goodie Mob’s Soul Food put Southern Hip-Hop on the map.

Soon, Organized Noize was one of the most highly sought after production crews in the music industry. The trio later found enormous success with TLC, En Vogue and Ludacris, which somewhat divided the crew. Even through all the ups and downs—which included Wade’s bouts with alcoholism—his health scare put things in perspective for everybody involved.

Decked out in André 3000 gear, Wade talked to AllHipHop about his current relationship with the Dungeon Family just weeks before his death. He had been to Three Stacks’ concert the night before and the enthusiasm in his voice as he talked about the experience was palpable.

“I just had heart surgery, where they had to put a stent in my chest,” he said. “This happened January 19 and I just felt like, ‘Man, I would have missed it [the concert].’ God didn’t want my life. He wanted my attention and he got it. It’s been blessings on blessings on blessings since then. Since that moment, I’ve been blessed in every way. It’s hard to not cry every time I think about it.”

Wade, who was instrumental in launching the careers of André 3000, Big Boi, Goodie Mob (including CeeLo Green), Killer Mike and many others, was moved by how many of the Dungeon Family members reached out following his heart scare, including his younger cousin Future.

“They all love and respect me,” he said with a smile. “They all look at me as a person that did it for them, especially after what I just went through. I’ve spoken to every last one of them, and it’s been like, ‘I want to hug you and I want to let you know how important you are to us. I’m glad you’re still here.

“I hate for it to take a life-altering situation, but even Future—that’s my cousin—he’s been so busy. But if I text him now, he texts me right back. I seen André last night at the show, and I was in the studio the other day seeing Boi Boi. Everybody can see that I’m clear and clean. They can see that I ain’t drinking and they can see my energy is on 1o.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Rico Wade talked about seeing Killer Mike sweep the rap categories at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards and his subsequent arrest.

“What’s crazy about that is that Killer Mike is one of the most articulate, intelligent people I know,” he said. “So sometimes—not purposely ’cause I wouldn’t say it was a conspiracy. But they were waiting for him or whatever, like because of something that happened at the Staples Center or whatever. Since then, the city has been so supportive.

“Other news outlets have been so supportive of giving him that platform to let him speak because not only did he sweep the Grammys, his album is really good. The song with André and Future [‘Scientists & Engineers] won Song of the Year. So it’s like, I’m happy that I’m here.”

Sentiments like these makes Wade’s death even harder to stomach for his friends, family and fans. But no matter what happens, the Dungeon Family has vowed to hold him down.

Joe Biden Explains How He Avoided Becoming Suicidal Drunk

Joe Biden has revealed he contemplated suicide after his first wife Neilia and their infant daughter died in a car crash.

The United States President recalled how his mental health declined significantly after the tragic incident during an interview with Howard Stern on Friday.

“You don’t have to be crazy to commit suicide,” Joe Biden shared. “In just a brief moment, I thought about going to the Delaware Memorial Bridge and jump.”

Joe Biden ultimately dismissed the idea because of his sons, Beau and Hunter.

“I had two kids,” he said. “It wasn’t like I got to commit suicide. It was like I had been to the top of the mountain, and it’s never going to happen again. You’re never going to be OK.”

Biden’s first wife, Neilia Hunter, and 13-month-old daughter, Naomi, were killed in a car accident while out shopping days before Christmas in December 1972.

A tractor-trailer carrying corn broadsided the family’s Chevrolet station wagon. The President revealed he also considered numbing his pain with alcohol at the time.

“I used to sit there and just think I’m going to take out a bottle of scotch,” he added. “I’m going to just drink it and get drunk.”

His family history of alcoholism, however, stopped him from succumbing. Joe Biden found love again after the death of his first wife Jill, Biden, whom he married in 1977.

The pair expanded their family with daughter Ashley Biden in 1981.

EXCLUSIVE: 50 Cent Determined To Seize House Of Man Who Stole Millions From Sire Spirits

Will 50 Cent successfully seize an embezzler’s property? That’s a question a Connecticut court is pondering as mogul 50 Cent attempts to seize the house of one of his former employees.

50 Cent is currently embroiled in a legal dispute with Mitchell Green over the potential seizure of Green’s house. The dispute stems from a $2 million embezzlement scheme from 50 Cent’s company, Sire Spirits.

Green’s admission of guilt to wire fraud charges and an arbitrator’s previous ruling against him regarding the embezzlement has only solidified Sire Spirits’ stance in pursuing strict penalties, including asset recovery.

The argument is over whether Green should be allowed to claim exemptions to safeguard his assets despite his admitted financial misconduct against the liquor business.

The heated legal conflict is unfolding at the United States Bankruptcy Court District of Connecticut, where Sire Spirits has challenged Green’s right to these exemptions after he filed for bankruptcy to protect his assets from Fif.

The dispute centers on the applicability of Connecticut’s homestead exemption, which typically allows a $250,000 protection, reduced to $75,000 in cases tied to acts of willful misconduct.

Sire Spirits argues that Green’s deliberate fraud should disqualify him from any protective exemptions, which could leave his residence vulnerable to being claimed to settle the financial damages he caused.

As the court deliberates on whether the reduced exemption applies, Green’s residential future hangs in the balance.

Moreover, Sire Spirits has raised an additional legal question concerning whether Green could exempt personal property purchased or enhanced through his fraudulent activities.

They posit that such properties should not be included in Green’s bankruptcy estate as they rightfully belong to Sire Spirits.

These court proceedings are pretty significant as they affect the involved parties and could set a precedent concerning how exemption laws are applied in cases of employee embezzlement and fraud.

The ultimate decision will reveal how much a creditor, such as 50 Cent, can recover assets from fraudulent activities against their business.

50 Cent has vowed to get Green’s assets. He claims Green’s scheme was part of a broader plan by key employees at Beam Suntory to overcharge Sire Spirits by as much as $6 million and cause the company’s collapse to conceal the fraud.

He even took to Instagram and talked about his changes to the residence, suggesting he would keep Green’s family pictures in the house.

Is 2 Chainz Son Halo Going To Get Signature Shoe?

2 Chainz must have been was extremely serious when he named his fifth studio album Rap Or Go To The League based on his aspirations for his son Halo.

On the heels of sharing his son’s enterprising, entrepreneurial elementary school hustle, which saw his boy and his younger brother selling acorns to fellow students, 2 Chains has revealed his belief that halo is ready for yet another business pursuit. In an Instagram post he shared of Halo’s youth basketball highlights, 2 Chainz repurposed the mixtape into a Nike “Just Do It” commercial, seemingly illustrating his poise and readiness to take his craft to the next level.

“Yo-Yo-Yo Halo I want you to listen up,” 2 Chainz said in part in his voiceover of the makeshift commercial.

“Check this out, today we are just talking about Basketball. We’re talking about overall commitment dedication and the mentality you need to get to the next level. You gotta have that beast in you. And I know you got it in you because I put it in you,” he added.

2 Chainz continued In the caption of the post, essentially putting the writing on the wall for Halo to monetize his name and likeness.

“I know Halo is confident talented and mature enough to have his own signature shoe,” 2 Chainz started off in the caption. He added, “I also believe he is goin to the league because he believes it ‼️ that’s all ‼️ and oh yeh who do you think should take the chance and give Halo his own shoes ?? Tag em.”

Considering LeBron James served as an executive producer on Rap Or Go To The League and has delivered 21 iterations of his own signature shoe with Nike, the possibility of Halo’s signature shoe feels realistically within reach. We can only hope that Halo’s signature shoe doesn’t turn out how the Ball brother’s original Big Baller Brand signature shoes did prior to Lonzo Ball being ousted from the Los Angeles Lakers.

Jeezy Stayed Strapped, Jeannie Mai Claims Toddler Found Rapper’s Guns

Rapper Jeezy has found himself entangled in a serious legal and personal dispute as his estranged wife, Jeannie Mai, accused him of negligently leaving his AK-47 assault rifle unsecured in their home.

Jeannie Mai says Jeezy endangered their 2-year-old daughter, Monaco, in Los Angeles and Atlanta.

Mai’s allegations emerged within a contentious divorce and custody battle, heightening the concerns about their daughter’s safety.

According to the latest court documents, Mai claimed that Jeezy habitually carried the AK-47 around the house and often left it, along with other firearms and ammunition, in accessible places like kitchen counters and dining tables.

These alleged actions posed a general danger and endangered their toddler, who could have easily accessed such hazardous items.

Jeannie Mai substantiated her claims by providing the court with photos from their home’s security footage, showing the firearm placed carelessly next to a bed where their daughter could reach it.

In a distressing recount, Jeannie Mai mentioned that Monaco once found the rifle, an incident that could have had fatal consequences.

Jeezy previously denied all of Mai’s claims against him, which included physical abuse.

In his formal response, he described the allegations as “deeply disturbing,” framing them as a “malicious attempt to tarnish my character and disrupt my family.”

He emphasized his dedication to his family and expressed concern over the potential damage to his relationships and reputation from the allegations.

The allegations and the ongoing dispute are set against the backdrop of a divorce filing by the couple in September 2023.

Initially, Jeezy sought primary custody of Monaco, citing Mai’s extensive travel and its negative impact on their child.

However, he later modified his custody request to seek joint custody, highlighting his desire to share parenting responsibilities equally.

Jeezy is facing scrutiny after Jeannie Mai claimed he left his assault rifles laying around their house as their heated custody battle escalates.

Are Beanie Sigel & The D.O.C. Using A.I. To Collaborate On Music?

Beanie Sigel and The D.O.C. might be teaming up for a collaboration! You heard it here first! As you may know, both artists have suffered severe damage to their vocal cords due to tragic events. Beanie Sigel lost lung function after being shot, while The D.O.C.’s vocal cords were crushed in a notorious car crash. Despite these challenges, they remain our beloved brothers in classic Hip-Hop.

I am so excited that these two icons might be working together. AllHipHop has recently interviewed with both artists! This includes a chat with Beanie Sigel, Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur and DJ Thoro, giving a pathway for a real collaboration. Could this be the hook they need to stand out in an oversaturated market?

While both of these titans are still lyrically sharp and capable of delivering quality verses, the true hope the industry, fans, and culture get to bear witness to these big “what ifs” of Hip-Hop. This potential project could showcase the best uses of artificial intelligence in music, far from the misuse and gimmicks we’ve seen elsewhere. Here’s to seeing their vision come to life!

Did Eminem Get His New Album Idea From Social Media?

Someone needs to take a look at Eminem’s search history on Twitter (X) following the announcement of his upcoming album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).

Even though Dr. Dre let us know weeks ago that Eminem was working on an album, the Detroit lyricist still managed to surprise fans after recently confirming the arrival of the LP this summer. However, it appears Twitter (X) user Dedee, whose handle is @thoughtfulbae spoiled the surprise as early as the year 2021.

Long story short, Dedee shared an screenshot of a note over two and a half years ago detailing her idea for an Eminem concept album of the same name. In the note, Dedee detailed that the album would serve as a “Farewell to a legendary persona,” emphasizing that “It won’t be a retirement project,” but rather a reflection of his “controversies” and the way his outrageous persona “Impacted his life (both positively and negatively).”

Dedee also stressed the notion that the record would “Shock fans by introducing a more laidback lyricist that’s more focused on what he says instead of how he’s saying it.” The post also alluded to Eminem working with a litany of other producers on the record, such as The Alchemist and Madlib, among others. But Dr. Dre would have to sit this one out.

Given the fact that there aren’t very many details, yet that is, about the project, other than the teaser trailer Eminem dropped, this looks like one of the heaviest handed copy and paste social media jobs we’ve seen as of late.

Once we get the full picture, if it boils down to anything closer to Dedee’s concept, they Twitter (X) user might need to campaign for their own executive producer credit!

Diddy Gets Strategic In Move To Dismiss Sexual Assault Accusations From 1991

Diddy is is making strategic moves to dismiss Joi Dickerson-Neal’sgal lawsuit against him and his companies.

Dickerson-Neal filed legal action against Diddy, contending he drugged and sexually assaulted her in 1991 while she was a student at Syracuse University.

She alleges the incident happened after Diddy took her to dinner and then to a recording studio, where he supposedly drugged her to the point where she could not stand or walk on her own. She claims that Diddy then sexually assaulted her.

According to Dickerson-Neal, Diddy also recorded the assault without her consent and later displayed the video to others, an action she characterized as “revenge p###.”

The lawsuit further details that Dickerson-Neal and Diddy had mutual friends and acquaintances, some of whom were allegedly shown the disturbing video.

The traumatic experience, she states, led her to withdraw from college and abandon her aspirations in the music industry.

Diddy’s attorneys are firing back and emphatically rejecting the applicability of the statutes under which the claims were made, mainly because they were enacted after the alleged misconduct in 1991.

The Adult Survivor’s Act (ASA) allows some older legal claims to be reopened even after the time limit to file them has expired.

However, the ASA does not allow a plaintiff to bring back claims under laws not in place when the alleged misconduct happened.

The laws Dickerson-Neal is trying to use were created years after the alleged incidents in 1991. These laws cannot be applied to past actions unless the lawmakers clearly indicate that they intended for them to apply retroactively.

His lawyers insist that New York’s legislative framework does not support retroactive applications of such statutes.

A post shared by LOVE (@diddy)

Diddy’s attorneys have also moved to dismiss claims against his companies, Bad Boy Entertainment Holdings, Inc. and Combs Enterprises, LLC.

His lawyers state neither company existed at the time of the alleged misconduct in 1991. Diddy founded Bad Boy Entertainment in 1992, and Combs Enterprises was formed in 2004.

Since no legal theory allows holding an entity accountable for actions that pre-date its existence, the claims against his businesses should be dismissed.

Furthermore, Diddy’s lawyers say that even if the business had existed at the time of the alleged misconduct, there are no allegations of direct misconduct by them.

The complaint does not allege that any misconduct occurred at the company defendants’ places of business, and there are no specific allegations of any particular act they committed.

Diddy’s lawyer wants to bar Dickerson-Neal from filing an amended complaint against Bad Boy and Combs Enterprises.

Even if Dickerson-Neal sought to amend the complaint, the fact that the claims are untimely and cannot be sustained under the applicable statutes would remain the same.

Pusha T Explains Why Artists Still Work With Kanye West Following Controversial Statements

In recent years, Kanye West turned off some of his fans and peers with his controversial statements and actions. Ye’s longtime associate, Pusha T, spoke about why the polarizing rapper still manages to collaborate with big stars.

Kanye West angered some African Americans by suggesting chattel slavery was a choice and promoting “White Lives Matter” shirts. He also caught heat from members of the Jewish community. West threatened to go “death con 3 on Jewish people” and praised Adolf Hitler.

“I believe that there’s a level of visibility that comes along with being next to somebody like Ye. At the end of the day, it’s a level of musicality and genius-level production that comes along with being next to him,” Pusha T told Complex.

In addition, the My Name Is My Name album creator said, “So you get a lot of things that I think artists are looking for these days in being next to him. I mean, you get that. You get a lot.”

Kanye West recently partnered with R&B singer Ty Dolla $ign to release their Vultures 1 collaborative studio LP. The album features Nipsey Hussle, Quavo, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, Lil Durk, Rich The Kid, Chris Brown, and more.

Pusha T has worked extensively with Kanye West throughout his music career. The Clipse member signed to West’s G.O.O.D. Music, and he eventually became president of the label. Push and Ye also appeared together on songs such as “Runaway” and “New God Flow.”

“It’s all about the music for me and just making music at a certain level,” Pusha stated in his interview. “I’ve been in this game a long time, so it’s about a certain type of hip-hop that I want to make. And truthfully, Ye definitely knows what I like to make, and I only want to be a part of things that I want to do.”

Yung Miami Harbors “Hate” For New Orleans—Locals Accuse Her Of Stealing Swag

If you thought Yung Miami had her hands full with trolls bombarding her on social media with “Freak off” references following Diddy’s sexual assault lawsuits, guess again because New Orleans’ natives are now coming for her.

In this case, it all started out with a semi tone deaf tweet in a response to a fan on Twitter (X), who requested Yung Miami’s presence in New Orleans.

“I hate it there real bad!” Yung Miami swiftly replied.

Of course, given Yung Miami chose to “Act Bad” when NOLA became the topic of conversation, the levees began overflowing with discourse from disgruntled natives who were fed up.

“Yung Miami being a watered down dollar general bounce artist yet hates New Orleans hilarious. There’s real bounce music artists that’s killing her whole catalog. You can’t take the sauce, run with it, then diss the culture almost a decade later,” one Twitter (X) user pointed out.

However, it appears an Instagram user by the name of @winsleymelan drug Miami through the absolute gutter for her statements on Instagram after pointing out the City Girl’s rapper’s blatant history of appropriating classic New Orleans music for her own profit. From her platinum hit “Twerk” sampling Choppa’s “Choppa Style” to leaning on artists such as Juvenile and Magnolia Shorty, Winsley pulled all of the receipts of Miami taking inspiration without giving proper credit. Not to mention, in 2018, Drake brought the City Girls out on stage in New Orleans and it proved to be one of their biggest co-sign moments early on in their career.

What do you think? Should Miami re-think her relationship with New Orleans or simply embrace here “Bayou Ban” and leave Bounce music and their artists out of her next releases?

Anyways, check out the full video below.

Karrueche Tran Reacts To Quavo & Chris Brown’s Beef

Karrueche Tran wants no part of Quavo and Chris Brown’s contentious feud. The actress repeatedly focused on herself when a paparazzo asked how she felt about her exes beefing.

“I don’t feel [anything],” she said. “It is what it is. I’m living my life. Working, paying my bills, taking time for myself and that’s all that matters. Whatever else is going on, I ain’t got nothing to do with it. I’m living a peaceful life. That’s all I want: peace.”

Tran initially denied hearing any of Quavo and Brown’s diss tracks. She later admitted to hearing at least one of the songs.

“I’ve heard it,” she said. “I don’t think [anything]. I don’t. No! No comments. I just want peace and happiness. And I wanna work and thrive. That’s all I ask.”

The paparazzo kept pushing, inquiring if she had a message for Quavo and Brown. She offered a simple answer.

“Nothing,” she said.

Tran was the source of Quavo and Brown’s bad blood. The tension between the two artists recently erupted when Brown took a shot at Quavo on the song “Freak.”

“Okay, now f###### my old b###### ain’t gon’ make us equal/Sipping that 1942 ‘cause I don’t do no Cuervo [Quavo]/Freak b####, she like Casamigos, not the Migos,” Brown rapped.

Quavo fired back with his song “Tender.”

“You did the b#### wrong and now the b#### gone, she posted with a thug/Call the b#### phone, she won’t come home, don’t beat her up/It must be the drugs, need to cross out your plug,” he rapped.

Quavo added, “Tell me, ‘lil bro, what’s your issue? It’s over a thot/You said it’s bigger than that but know that it’s not.”

The situation escalated when Brown dropped his diss track “Weakest Link.” Brown claimed he had sex with Quavo’s ex Saweetie while they were still dating and dragged the late Takeoff’s name into the battle.

“You f##### my ex-hoe, that’s cool, I don’t give no f###, lil’ n####/’Cause I f##### your ex when you were still with her, b####, I’m up, lil’ n####,” Brown rapped.

He continued, “Show me that I’m tender, b####, time to prove what you just said/R.I.P. Takeoff, he the only real one that got true respect/Crazy how when he died, everybody really wished it was you instead.”

Quavo responded with the diss track “Over Hoes & B######.”

“This bullet got your name, Chris/Don’t ever bring up Take, p####,” Quavo declared.

He rapped, “Lil’ boy wanna die ’bout some coochie?/You still f##### up ’bout Karrueche?/You tried to beat up Teyana/But Usher wouldn’t let you do it/The cocaine got him, your honor/Bipolar disorder, no wonder/You was the greatest, n####, you fumbled/Going out sad, I’m watching you crumble.”

Kevin Hart Receives Mixed Results In Defamation Case Against Tasha K

A California judge partially denied Tasha K’s motion to dismiss Kevin Hart’s lawsuit against her on Wednesday (April 24). Judge Holly Fujie allowed Hart to proceed with claims of defamation, invasion of privacy and intentional interference with contractual relations. The judge dismissed Hart’s extortion claim.

Hart sued the controversial vlogger, whose real name is Latasha Kebe, and his former assistant Miesha Shakes in December 2023. Shakes claimed Hart paid a man $4 million to take DUI charges for him and faced “charges” for a 2017 sex tape scandal — along with many more unflattering allegations — in an interview with Tasha K.

According to Hart, Shakes violated her non-disclosure agreement. Hart accused Tasha K and Shakes of defamation and extortion following the interview’s release.

Tasha K attempted to get Hart’s claims dismissed based on California’s anti-SLAPP law, which is designed to protect free speech. The law aims to help defendants dismiss meritless lawsuits. But Judge Fujie ruled some of Hart’s claims had merit. The judge cited Shakes and Tasha’s comments regarding Hart’s sex tape as one potential example of defamation.

“Shakes and Kebe’s use of the word ‘charges,’ in context and based on the common usage of the word, could lead a reasonable observer to conclude that Hart faced criminal prosecution,” Fujie said, per Courthouse News Service. “Defendants do not dispute that Hart never faced criminal charges in connection with the Las Vegas incident.”

Hart’s ex-assistant did not participate in Tasha K’s anti-SLAPP motion. Tasha K’s efforts did help Shakes, who no longer faced extortion claims due to the judge’s ruling.

Earlier this year, a judge denied Hart’s request for a temporary restraining order in the defamation case. Hart wanted Shakes’ tell-all interview with Tasha K to be removed from the vlogger’s website. Judge Mitchell Beckloff said the request went “overboard.”

Drake Scraps “Taylor Made Freestyle” After Tupac Shakur Estate’s Legal Threat

Drake removed his Kendrick Lamar diss track “Taylor Made Freestyle” from social media. The Canadian star took down the song at the behest of Tupac Shakur’s estate.

Tupac’s estate threatened to sue Drake in a cease-and-desist letter. Drake used AI-generated Tupac and Snoop Dogg vocals to taunt Kendrick on “Taylor Made Freestyle.” Tupac’s estate condemned “the dismaying use” of his voice.

“The Estate is deeply dismayed and disappointed by your unauthorized use of Tupac’s voice and personality,” the estate’s attorney Howard King wrote. “Not only is the record a flagrant violation of Tupac’s publicity and the estate’s legal rights, it is also a blatant abuse of the legacy of one of the greatest Hip-Hop artists of all time. The Estate would never have given its approval for this use.”

Drake’s “Taylor Made Freestyle” was never available on streaming services. The track only appeared on his social media platforms.

Tupac’s estate demanded the removal of the “Taylor Made Freestyle” days after its release. The estate also asked Drake to provide a “detailed explanation” of how Tupac’s AI-generated voice was created in its cease-and-desist letter.

“If you comply, the estate will consider whether an informal negotiation to resolve this matter makes sense,” King wrote. “If you do not comply, our client has authorized this firm to pursue all of its legal remedies including, but not limited to, an action for violation of … the estate’s copyright, publicity and personality rights and the resulting damages, injunctive relief and punitive damages and attorneys’ fees.”

Drake’s “Taylor Made Freestyle” was his second diss track aimed at Kendrick. Drizzy previously released the song “Push Ups,” which targeted Kendrick and several others.

Kendrick started the battle by dissing Drake and J. Cole on Future and Metro Boomin’s song “Like That.” Cole responded with “7 Minute Drill” but quickly regretted dissing Kendrick. Cole apologized at the 2024 Dreamville Festival.

Beyoncé Sends Toddler Flowers Amid Coach Dawn Staley Praise

Now that Beyoncé has given South Carolina Women’s basketball Coach of the Year Dawn Staley her flowers amid back-to-back NCAA national titles, she’s sending flowers to toddlers.

Well, not exactly. One lucky rugrat has joined the likes of Staley in Queen Bey’s book after the COWBOY CARTER vocalist sent the tike one of her trademark bouquet’s of blue roses. And while the tike is obviously way too young to compete at one of the highest levels in organized sports, he still managed to win over Beyoncé’s heart, much like Staley and the Gamecock’s roster did this year. The boy, Tyler, effectively won the hearts of more than 17 million TikTok users after a video of his conversation with his mother went viral due to his claim that Queen Bey was his actual homegirl.

“Where’s Beyoncé?” Tyler asked his mother in part.

“Beyoncé’s in her house, baby,” his mother, Bea Fabregas, replied.

“She’s our friend,” Tyler insisted after asking to visit Beyoncé.

Considering the original video was posted on April 16, word must’ve spread like wildfire because Fabregas shared an update post less than 10 days later, making it Instagram official by revealing that Tyler and Beyoncé were basically besties.

“BEYONCE VIDEO UPDATE,” Fabregas wrote in the caption of the Instagram post. “For the record @beyonce and Tyler are now actually, officially friends! Through the power of Queen B’s internet (millions of views and likes it’s crazy!) she saw the video and sent over some of her favorite blue flowers, a new animal best friend for Tyler and the sweetest message that our family will now always treasure. In her note (which she started out with ‘To my friend Tyler’ ) she said, ‘I see your halo, Tyler’.”

Bea ended the lengthy post writing, “BEYONCE SENT MY BABY FLOWERS!!!!”

YNW Melly Retrial Can’t Escape Gridlock Amid Appeal Process

No progress was made at a hearing in YNW Melly’s double murder retrial on Friday (April 26). The embattled rapper remained stuck playing the waiting game as a Florida judge issued no ruling on his legal team’s request to move forward with discovery.

According to NBC Miami, Melly’s lawyers wanted to proceed with depositions and outstanding motions in the case. The prosecution claimed the proceedings must remain on hold while they appeal Judge John Murphy’s order to suppress a documentary as evidence in the trial.

Judge Murphy granted the defense’s motion to suppress the video in January. Prosecutors filed an appeal, delaying the retrial. It could take months to sort out the appeal. Melly has remained in jail since his 2019 arrest for the murders of Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas Jr. and Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Williams.

Melly, whose real name is Jamell Demons, was tried for the murders in 2023. Judge Murphy declared a mistrial after the jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict.

Prosecutors quickly pursued a retrial against Melly. His defense team convinced Judge Murphy to remove former lead prosecutor Kristine Bradley from the case. Alixandra Buckelew replaced Bradley.

Jury selection for the retrial began in October 2023. Judge Murphy granted the defense’s request to strike an entire panel of prospective jurors, forcing the selection progress to start from scratch in November 2023. Jury selection eventually was put on hold for months.

Melly’s retrial was scheduled to start in January 2024 at one point. Judge Murphy pushed it back to February before it was delayed indefinitely.

Prosecutors accuse Melly of killing his friends in 2018. The prosecution said his alleged accomplice YNW Bortlen helped him stage a drive-by shooting to cover up the murders. Bortlen will be tried separately.

Melly maintains his innocence. He faces a possible death sentence if convicted.

R. Kelly Loses Appeal Of Sex Crimes Conviction In Chicago

An appellate court upheld R. Kelly’s conviction for child pornography and child enticement charges in Chicago on Friday (April 26). Kelly’s attorneys claimed the charges were filed after the statute of limitations expired. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit disagreed.

“For years, Robert Sylvester Kelly abused underage girls,” the court noted. “By employing a complex scheme to keep victims quiet, he long evaded consequences. In recent years, though, those crimes caught up with him at last. But Kelly—interposing a statute of limitations defense—thinks he delayed the charges long enough to elude them entirely. The statute says otherwise, so we affirm his conviction.”

The appellate court also denied Kelly’s request for a new sentencing hearing. Kelly was sentenced to 20 years in prison for his Chicago conviction. His lawyers argued the sentence was too harsh.

Most of Kelly’s sentence will be served concurrently with a 30-year sentence for racketeering and sex trafficking charges in New York. Judge Harry Leinenweber ordered Kelly to serve one more year behind bars once the disgraced singer completed the New York sentence. The appellate court said Kelly’s arguments ignored the realities of his intertwined sentences.

“Kelly challenged the 72 months added to the high end of his Guidelines range,” the court wrote. “That challenge is beside the point. What matters most is the 30-year New York sentence, which the district court called ‘the elephant in the room’ at sentencing. The sentence Kelly ultimately received was fashioned with the New York sentence in mind. Kelly’s nominal above-Guidelines sentence cannot be fairly assessed without reference to its running concurrently with the New York sentence—what looks like 240 for this Illinois conduct is, with that context, more like twelve.”

The court concluded, “An even-handed jury found Kelly guilty, acquitting on several charges even after viewing those abhorrent tapes. No statute of limitations saves him, and the resulting sentence was procedurally proper and—especially under these appealing circumstances—substantively fair.”

Kelly is appealing his New York conviction. He remains in a federal correctional center in North Carolina.
