Conor McGregor Releases Statement On Assault Case As Fiancée Rips Victim

Conor McGregor and his fiancée Dee Devlin both released statements following the verdict in the MMA fighter’s civil case over an alleged hotel assault incident.

On Tuesday (November 26), McGregor and Devlin took to social media to express two completely different reactions to the Irish brawler’s loss in the civil sexual assault case, where he was ordered to pay €250,000 to accuser Nikita Hand over a 2018 violent altercation. McGregor previously made headlines earlier this month immediately following the verdict after he lashed out at Jake Paul, who antagonized him over the ruling in the case, while also bashing UFC mogul Dana White.

In the official address he shared on Twitter, McGregor opted for a subdued approach, taking the time to atone for his past “mistakes” yet still maintain his innocence.

“People want to hear from me, I needed time,” McGregoe wrote. “I know I made mistakes. Six years ago, I should have never responded to her outreaches. I should have shut the party down. I should never have stepped out on the woman I love the most in the world. That’s all on me.”

He continued, “As much as I regret it, everything that happened that night was consensual and all the witnesses present swore to that under oath.”

As he continued, McGregor looked to what lies ahead for him in the future, which he assures his followers will include more legal action in addition to his return to caged fighting.

“I have instructed my legal team to appeal the decision,” he wrote. “I can’t go back and I will move forward. I am beyond grateful to my family, friends and supporters all over the world who have stayed by my side.
That’s it. No more. Getting back to the gym- the fight game awaits!”

On the contrary, Devlin issued a statement of her own via her Instagram profile and staunchly defended McGregor despite the verdict of the case.

“My man and I have created a beautiful life together,” Devlin wrote in the caption. “I love him I trust him and I BELIEVE HIM! Our four beautiful children whose smiling faces and happy hearts are testimony to the man he is and who we are! No one is entitled to comment on our relationship- we trust one another and love one another. Nothing or nobody will change that. Our family stands strong!”

Chuck D & Consequence Tackle Domestic Challenges With “What Has America Done”

Hip-Hop revolutionary Chuck D and Queens rapper Consequence teamed up on on the powerful new track, “What Has America Done,” a socially-charged collaboration. The song is featured on Consequence’s album Nice Doing Business With You.

The powerful song includes vocals from Tony Williams and takes a hard look at systemic issues in America. Cons digs deep, addressing racial inequality, police brutality and societal neglect.

In the song, the A Tribe Called Quest affiliate pulls no punches, delivering lines like: “So what has America done for me?/Push the goal line further?/Accuse me of murder?/Fed me French fries and burgers?”

The accompanying music video is highly produced, reinforcing the track’s themes with vivid imagery of racial discrimination, homelessness, and police violence. It arrives as President-elect Donald Trump prepares for his second term in the White House.

Trump’s re-election has reignited interest in dystopian themes like Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale, George Orwell’s 1984 and Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451.

“What Has America Done” channels the anxieties of these turbulent times, and gives Cons one of his best songs.

Funk Flex Rushes To Drake’s Defense With Alleged Payola Fees In Hand

Drake’s legal dealings in connection to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” just got Funk Flex’s stamp of approval. On Tuesday (November 26), the veteran radio DJ shared an aggressive tweet in which he claimed Drake was justified in filing a pair of legal complaints against Universal Music Group and Spotify within a 24-hour period.

In the lengthy, all caps tweet, Flex appears to allege a widespread payola operation in the radio industry and laid out the fee scale for the lucrative operation he claims cripples independent artists.

“DRAKE IS 100% RIGHT!” Flex exclaimed in the tweet. “NATIONAL PLAY! (PER SONG) DRAKE DONT $ FOR PLAY! POP / CHR RADIO: $350k URBAN RADIO: $250K MIXSHOW: $100K LOCAL MIXSHOW DIRECTOR: $40k LOCAL DJ: $3K-5K PER SONG! (DJS ON THE RADIO 5 DAYS A WEEK) THIS IS WHY INDEPENDENT ARTIST DONT RISE TO THE TOP!”

Flex concluded by absolving himself while also seemingly accusing artists at large of attempting to buy him off: “ALL YOU ARTIST KNOW I AINT NEVER TAKE A DIME FROM YOU, YOUR MANAGER OR YOUR LABELS! (BOMB HAS NO PRICE) THURSDAY! 7PM! HOT97! LETS DISCUSS!”

Flex’s defense of Drake follows the backlash the Toronto hitmaker received in the wake of filing a pair of legal filing’s in connection to the scathing diss track Lamar released in May. In the latest filing Drake Lamar of defamation for “falsely accusing him of being a sex offender.”

In the legal complaint, Drake notes that UMG knew “Not Like Us” falsely accused him of being a “certified pedophile” and “predator” but chose to move forward with the release anyway. Prior to the defamation legal complaint, a company Drake owns filed a legal complaint against Universal Music Group (UMG) and Spotify, accusing the two entities of engaging in an illegal scheme to artificially boost the streaming numbers for Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us.”

Filed in a Manhattan court, the “pre-action” petition by Frozen Moments LLC alleges deceptive business practices and violations of the RICO Act, typically reserved for organized crime cases.

In addition to Flex, artists such as Daylyt and Tyrese have chimed in on the news by sharing their reactions via social media posts. Tyrese appeared to be in disbelief over the pair of legal filing’s and says he thinks Ashton Kutcher is “Punking” everybody.

T.D. Jakes Blames Lawyer For Diddy Accusers For Recent Health Scare In Church

Tyrone Blackburn, the attorney representing Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, the man accusing Sean “Diddy” Combs of operating a sex trafficking ring, has set his sights on another high-profile figure: Bishop T.D. Jakes.

In a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, Jakes accused Duane Youngblood, Blackburn’s client, of defamation and civil conspiracy.

Youngblood, a lifetime registered sex offender and two-time convicted felon, recently made allegations on the podcast Larry Reid Live, claiming Jakes had groomed and attempted to sexually abuse him when Youngblood was a young minister.

Jakes, however, has forcefully denied the allegations and is fighting back with a defamation lawsuit, calling the claims “patently false” and “malicious.”

Jakes’s lawsuit describes Youngblood’s statements as a “carefully planned effort by a convicted criminal, and those acting in concert with him, to rewrite history to deflect blame and accountability for his reprehensible and criminal conduct.

Jakes also accuses Youngblood of attempting to publicly smear a renowned and eminently respected religious leader in a blatant and explicit attempt to extort him for millions of dollars.”

Youngblood’s allegations were broadcast on two widely viewed podcast episodes on October 28 and November 3.

According to the complaint, the episodes were titled, “Larry Reid Live INTERVIEWS Duane Youngblood: ‘The Abused become The Abuser.'”

The lawsuit alleges Youngblood made statements claiming that “Bishop Jakes groomed, sexually assaulted, sexually abused, and preyed on” him.

“These accusations are patently false,” the lawsuit states. “Bishop Jakes never kissed or tried to kiss Youngblood, never cornered him or forced him into any situation (sexual or otherwise), and certainly never told him that he wanted to sleep with him or had any conversation of a sexual nature at all with him. The interactions described by Youngblood during his LRL interviews on October 28 and November 3 never happened—period.”

The lawsuit further claims that after the second podcast, Blackburn, acting on behalf of Youngblood, sent a letter to Jakes on November 15, demanding $6 million to “resolve this matter quickly and privately.” According to the complaint, this demand amounted to attempted extortion.

“Days after the second podcast, on information and belief, the Defendants retained a lawyer in New York to represent Youngblood in a blatant attempt at a ‘money grab,'” the filing alleges. “The motivation of the ‘demand’ was clear: pay millions of dollars; otherwise, the podcast strategy and other similar tactics of attempting to publicly harass and shame Bishop Jakes would continue.”

The lawsuit also details the toll the allegations have taken on Jakes.

It mentions that the pastor “suffered a medical crisis on stage in the middle of his Sunday service” on November 24 during a sermon at The Potter’s House church in Dallas, attributing this incident to the stress caused by Youngblood’s claims and the widespread attention they have received.

Jakes is seeking damages for defamation, emotional distress and punitive damages.

The lawsuit asserts that Youngblood’s claims were “accompanied with malice, wantonness, and a conscious desire to cause injury” and were made “heedlessly and with reckless and willful indifference” to the truth.

Wale Hints At New Music In Twitter Standoff With Fan Criticizing His Recent JAY-Z Link-Up

Wale is making it known that he’s working nearly around the clock, following his recent connection with JAY-Z.

The former Maybach Music Group rapper found himself battling social media trolls just days after witnessing the Dallas Cowboys upset his Washington Commanders NFL squad. Though his team lost, Wale appeared to snag himself a consolation prize by turning his attendance to the game into a networking opportunity with none other than JAY-Z.

“Back to work,” Wale wrote in a tweet on November 25 accompanied by the photo he and HOV took.

However, in his attempt to commemorate the moment he shared with his longtime collaborator and friend, Wale attracted an onslaught of hateful comments from trolls assuming he’s slacking off.

“Can’t stand when rap n##### act like Jigga they Daddy,” a user wrote in a reply in the thread of the original tweet. “Like what u need his blessings to get back to work n###a.”

Though Wale’s rebuttal to the troll’s tweet was the end-all-be-all, it wasn’t the only response the callous remark drew. In the thread another user replied remarking on the pair of MC’s decades-long relationship, referencing the Blueprint 3 Tour HOV brought Folarin along with him for in 2009.

“You never take pics with people you cool with?” the user questioned the troll in a reply.

Wale opted for a more direct approach rooted in reality for his response to the user, whom he put to shame by allowing his strenuous workload to speak on his behalf.

“33 city tour,” he wrote in part in the reply. “Went home for last show. Stayed one week more to see my team… this was my last photo before going back to work. I hope this helps.”

Considering Wale dropped his three-song single “Ghetto Speak” earlier this year in September and hasn’t released a full-length album since his 2022 LP More About Nothing, it’s likely he’s readying new music as we speak. It’s also likely that Folarin and HOV were discussing possible crossover into the league for the DMV-bred rapper — considering JAY-Z and Roc Nation recently extended their partnership with the NFL to curate talent for performances and events.

As for Wale and JAY-Z, their paths have intersected musically and professionally over the years, with their relationship rooted in mutual respect. Early in Wale’s career, JAY-Z provided guidance, even appearing on Wale’s 2009 mixtape, Back to the Feature, on the track “Rather Be With You.” Their connection deepened when Wale signed to Roc Nation for management in 2010.

Will Kendrick Lamar Sue Drake Back For Defamation?

It just got worse.

Let’s cut to the chase—the answer is likely no. Kendrick Lamar is not about to turn around and sue Drake for defamation. But let’s dig into this just a bit, because the situation is spiraling.

READ ALSO: Drake Files Second Action Against UMG, Cites Defamation Over Kendrick Lamar’s “False” Song

The other shoe has officially dropped (somebody said, “The second plane just hit the Twin Towers”: Drake is suing Universal Music Group and Kendrick Lamar for defamation of character. Crazy, right?

In a recent op-ed (here), we wondered why Drake hadn’t already made such a move, considering he’s been suing over bots and amplified streams on Spotify. Yet, back then, he didn’t address the accusations that he was a “p3d0phile.”

Now? It seems like Drake has hit his breaking point, and he’s all in. He’s suing Kendrick Lamar, but could Kendrick counter-sue? Disses and battle rap go hand-in-hand. The bigger the insult, the better, in most instances. But Drake crossed a line himself when he accused Kendrick Lamar of being a woman beater and suggesting he was m0lested as a child. He did not have proof of either.

Let’s break this down: the first accusation is especially damaging, since Kendrick Lamar has a great reputation as a conscious rapper. If people believed Kendrick Lamar was an abuser of women, it would ruin his entire image. And, for a second, it did. Some people believed it. The second lie, rooted in hearing Kendrick Lamar’s lyrics wrong, is also potentially damaging. A counter-suit would be easy work if Kendrick Lamar wanted to go there.

Here’s the thing: Kendrick Lamar hasn’t responded to any of this mess—at least not legally. Historically, he’s handled beefs with rhymes—not lawyers. Remember Meek Mill? When Drake accused him of whupping on his own wife, Kendrick Lamar fired back with bars, not court filings like an MC does. And he won the public over. Meanwhile, Drake’s attempts to respond flopped, more or less, leaving him scrambled like eggs.

F### you, Drake!

At this point, Drake just looks salty. If he’d emerged victorious in this battle, would we even be here? Doubt it. But now that he’s filing lawsuits left and right, it’s clear his ego took a massive hit. And while Kendrick Lamar could counter-sue, it seems unlikely. He doesn’t need to; he’s already won where it matters most—public opinion and credibility.

Universal Music Group, for its part, has aggressively defended itself. Some speculate that Drake’s real aim here is to renegotiate his contract with the label. If that’s the case, it’s a risky move. Burning bridges with Universal could cost him in the long run. And let’s be real—if bots were boosting Kendrick’s streams, it’s not hard to imagine they were also boosting Drake’s at some point. Nobody becomes the biggest artist in the world without some “help.” That’s just the game.

Let me know what you think in the comments. Is Drake justified in taking things this far, or is he just making himself look worse?

PS: When Drake accused Kendrick Lamar of abuse, Kendrick didn’t whine about it in court. He defended himself with his music and let the art speak for itself.

PPS: My people on the ground over in Los Angeles are telling me that it’s really hot in the streets right now. I am hearing that Drake is more and more hated than ever before. It really might not be safe for him out there. And, I am being told that it doesn’t matter who he has on the payroll—it can happen. Stay tuned and pray for peace.

Drake Files Second Action Against UMG, Cites Defamation Over Kendrick Lamar’s “False” Song

Drake has fired off a second action against Universal Music Group over Kendrick Lamar’s seething diss track “Not Like Us.” In the latest filing, the Toronto rap star accuses the former Top Dawg Entertainment MC of defamation for “falsely accusing him of being a sex offender.”

In the suit, Drake notes that UMG knew “Not Like Us” falsely accused him of being a “certified pedophile” and “predator” but chose to move forward with the release anyway.

“UMG … could have refused to release or distribute the song or required the offending material to be edited and/or removed,” Drake’s lawyers wrote. “But UMG chose to do the opposite. UMG designed, financed and then executed a plan to turn ‘Not Like Us’ into a viral mega-hit with the intent of using the spectacle of harm to Drake and his businesses to drive consumer hysteria and, of course, massive revenues. That plan succeeded, likely beyond UMG’s wildest expectations.”

Much like Monday’s (November 25) filing, the new petition isn’t exactly a lawsuit—it’s a “pre-action filing” aimed taking depositions from key figures at UMG and iHeart in an effort to collect more data that could support Drake’s accusations in a future lawsuit.

Drake has already accused UMG of illegally boosting “Not Like Us” with payments to Spotify, and he leveled similar claims in Texas court regarding iHeartRadio. The new filing, filed late Monday (November 25) and made public on Tuesday (November 26), allege UMG “funneled payments” to iHeart as part of a “pay-to-play scheme” to promote the song on radio.

UMG responded to Drake’s filing on Tuesday in a statement that read, “The suggestion that UMG would do anything to undermine any of its artists is offensive and untrue. We employ the highest ethical practices in our marketing and promotional campaigns. No amount of contrived and absurd legal arguments in this pre-action submission can mask the fact that fans choose the music they want to hear.”

The Hip-Hop community is shocked by Drake’s behavior, with some calling it the biggest “L” of his career.

Trey Songz Ordered To Pay Millions To Cop In Battery Lawsuit

Trey Songz has been ordered to fork out millions of dollars to a cop who sued him for battery last year.

A judge ruled the embattled singer must pay more than $11 million in damages to Maryland Capitol police officer Tyrelle Dunn, per TMZ. Dunn claims he sustained injuries while attempting to extract his wife from Songz’s Las Vegas hotel room back in November 2021.

At the time, Dunn’s wife accused Trey Songz of sexual assault. While Songz avoided criminal charges, with cops clearing him of any wrongdoing in April 2022, Dunn filed a civil lawsuit in 2023.

In his complaint, Dunn claimed he came to his wife’s aid after she alleged that she was being held against her will in Songz’s hotel room. That’s when Dubb claims Songz and his security attacked, fracturing his eye socket and causing other injuries that forced him to miss work.

According to Dunn’s lawsuit, the Virginia native never responded, and the judge entered a default judgment of $11 million in compensation for his medical expenses, pain and suffering and punitive damages.

Multiple women have accused Trey Songz of sexual misconduct, leading to several lawsuits. In a 2023 filing, two women claim he forced himself on them and possibly drugged them in 2015 at his Los Angeles home.

Another woman, only identified as Jane Doe, sued Songz for allegedly “grabbing and flashing her breast” at a 2013 party.

He was also accused of anally raping a woman at a Los Angeles party in 2016. Songz’s legal team got the case dismissed in 2023, arguing the statute of limitations for that lawsuit ran out.

Songz and his legal representation have repeatedly denied all of the allegations.

Drake, Kendrick Lamar & The Big Questions Everybody’s Asking

Drake, Kendrick Lamar and the Strangest Hip-Hop Drama of 2024

Here we are, folks.

In a twist that no one saw coming, Drake has filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group, Spotify and Kendrick Lamar, accusing them of conspiring to suppress his music on streaming platforms. The allegations claim that Kendrick Lamar’s track “Not Like Us” received artificial boosts—bots, payola, even Apple Siri manipulation—to promote the song when users searched for Drake. And to top it off, Drake evokes RICO violations, a legal framework usually reserved for organized crime. Oh.

Let that sink in: a rapper is evoking the same laws that have taken down mob bosses to settle a rap beef. Is Drake a Karen?

This is unprecedented. Hip-Hop is no stranger to lawsuits. I remember when N.W.A sued Tim Dog (RIP) for sampling their music. But a rapper suing after losing a battle? That’s uncharted territory. Even in the bitterest of battles, artists have historically taken their losses and moved on. When JAY-Z lost to Nas in the legendary “Ether” clash, he didn’t lawyer up—he went back to the studio. Over time, he reestablished himself through relentless creativity and long-term dominance.

And then there’s Ja Rule. His name’s been unfairly dragged into this mess by internet chatter. Let’s be clear: Ja Rule stood tall in his feud with 50 Cent. Whether you think he won or lost, Ja kept swinging, even taking fierce shots at Eminem and others while delivering classic records. No lawsuits, just bars.

READ ALSO: Drake Sues Over “Not Like Us,” Evoking RICO Against Kendrick Lamar And Record Labels

Which brings us back to Drake. One of the strangest omissions in his lawsuit is any claim of defamation against Kendrick Lamar. On “Not Like Us,” his lyrics suggested Drake engaged in disturbing behavior—sexual misconduct of the most disturbing sort. These are allegations Drake categorically denies. On top of that, Drake’s own label home, Universal Music Group, is implicated in this suit. Why would they sabotage one of their biggest artists for another act under the same umbrella? It’s baffling.

Then there’s Drake’s approach to battling Kendrick Lamar, which is violently against cultural norms. He’s used co-writers and even artificial intelligence to battle him, which raised many eyebrows. In Hip-Hop, these are considered cardinal sins yet fans mostly looked the other way. But now, suing your competitor? Feels like habitual line-stepping.

Drake has always been picky about his opponents. There are plenty of worthy challengers he’s ignored over the years. But now, as he faces Kendrick Lamar—a certified heavyweight—his responses after the battle feel reactive, not strategic. And for a man who once seemed untouchable, the cracks are starting to show. Diehard fans argue he’ll bounce back with another hit, but others believe this lawsuit is a cultural breaking point. Literally, “Come on, man!”

“Not Like Us,” Kendrick Lamar’s track at the heart of this controversy, feels prophetic. He’s proving he’s not like us! Filing RICO charges over a Hip-Hop battle? That’s as un-Hip-Hop as it gets. And the optics? They’re not great. Drake looks like an artist unwilling to accept defeat, trying to litigate his way back to the top instead of letting his music speak for itself.

Before I wrap this up, let us take a moment to consider the possibility that Drake may be unwell. Everything Drake has dropped since the battle has been underwhelming, leaving us repeatedly puzzled about his behavior. The micro-aggressions, duck faces, bizarre interviews and cryptic IG stories all raise questions about his well-being. Does he even have a manager? Are Chubbs or any of his friends stepping in to help him? Suing your own label for promoting Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” the same way they’ve pushed your music is wild. Drake’s argument, according to reports, is that they’re using money made off him to push another artist—Kendrick Lamar. The same logic applies to how they’ve boosted his career. It’s crazy work. I hope he’s OK mentally.

So, where does Drake go from here? In my opinion, it’s time for him to hit pause. Find a beach. Reflect. Recharge. Take 2024 and about half of 2025 off—it’s Kendrick Lamar’s year anyway. Then come back with the classic album we all know he’s capable of creating. But instead, he’s been flooding the market with music that just doesn’t stick, making matters worse.

Drake is his own man now. The days of being guided by J. Prince, Lil Wayne or Cash Money seem over. He’s making his own calls, and right now, those decisions aren’t taking his career higher. It’s been a wild year full of twists and turns, and this lawsuit is the cherry on top. 2024 has been the strangest.

One thing’s for sure: we’ll be talking about this drama for years to come. Whether it’s a turning point or a cautionary tale remains to be seen. But for now, Drake, the ball’s in your court. Just maybe not in the courtroom.

Wiz Khalifa Checks Money-Throwing Fan: “I’m Not A Stripper”

Wiz Khalifa abruptly stopped a recent performance to reprimand a fan throwing money at him.

The “See You Again” hitmaker was performing at a club in Thailand after co-headlining Rolling Loud Thailand 2024. However, he had to pause midway through his set to check an overzealous fan in the front row.

Footage from the event shows Wiz Khalifa stopping the show to chastise the money-thrower.

“Stop throwing money on the stage,” Wiz commanded. “I’m not a stripper, dawg. Quit throwing money on the stage.”

Although the man began to apologize, it apparently wasn’t the first time Wiz Khalifa had called him out for tossing cash at him.

“I’ve already told you once,” he added. “I’m not a dancer. If you don’t know, I’m Wiz Khalifa.”

The native then returned to his usual chill demeanor and continued the show.

Wiz Khalifa recently got into trouble with the law while overseas. Romanian cops busted him for lighting up a joint on stage at Beach Please! Festival in July.  The cannabis connoisseur was indicted for possession in October for smoking and possessing marijuana at the concert.

While Wiz Khalifa talked down the fan throwing money, Rick Ross took matters into his own hands in a similar situation earlier this year.

Back in January, Rozay was making his way to the stage at a Miami nightspot when a fan decided to make it rain on the rapper. Ross paused for a moment while looking directly at the culprit before tossing a giant wad of cash directly at him.

The fan found the encounter hilarious, sticking his tongue out as Ross walked off.

7 Essential Steps to Launch a Successful Music Career

So, you’ve decided to turn your love for music into a career. Whether you’re dreaming of platinum records or just creating meaningful tracks, launching a music career is no small feat. It’s a mix of passion, skills, and strategy. And let’s not forget the balancing act—especially if you’re still managing school or a day job. Here’s where modern tools like AI can step in. If you’re in the thick of assignments and brainstorming song lyrics, you can check your essay with Textero AI essay checker to save some time and mental energy. This way, you can focus on hitting the right notes in your music and your studies. Ready to get started?

1. Find Your Unique Sound

Figuring out your unique sound is like finding the perfect outfit—it’s got to fit you and no one else. Some artists lean into genres they’ve loved since childhood, while others try a bit of everything until something clicks. Experimentation is your best friend here. Play around with instruments, mix and match styles, or even mash together completely different vibes. You might surprise yourself with what works.

But let’s not overcomplicate things: this is about trial and error, not some impossible search for perfection. If you’re into soft ballads one week and high-energy beats the next, that’s okay. Finding your sound doesn’t have to be a straight line. What matters most is creating something that feels true to you and can connect with listeners. Bonus tip: keep your audience in mind. A little understanding of the music industry’s current trends can help guide you without boxing you in.

2. Nail Your Songwriting Skills

Songwriting can feel like staring at a blank page, waiting for inspiration to strike—spoiler alert: it rarely does on command. Instead, think of songwriting as a muscle. The more you practice, the stronger it gets. Start simple: jot down ideas, phrases, or even random thoughts throughout your day. Some of it will stick, and some of it won’t, but that’s part of the process; it’s important to face the challenges, not immediately turn to AI writing, although it can be helpful.

Great lyrics often come from personal experiences, but that doesn’t mean every song needs to be a diary entry. Get creative with storytelling or build on universal themes that everyone can relate to. And let’s not pretend it’s all effortless genius—editing is key. Write, rewrite, and polish until the song feels just right. If you’re stuck, online tools can help you refine your work or even give you fresh perspectives. Trust me, it’s a game-changer when you’re juggling songwriting, school, and figuring out music notes all at once.

3. Learn the Basics of Music Production

No one’s handing out record deals for ideas scribbled on napkins, even if they ask AI. These days, knowing music production basics is a must if you want to be taken seriously. This doesn’t mean turning your room into a high-tech studio overnight, but you should at least know how to record a decent demo and understand the basics of mixing and mastering.

Start small with beginner-friendly tools and tutorials. You don’t have to produce Grammy-worthy tracks right away, but knowing how to make your songs sound polished and professional will put you miles ahead. Plus, understanding the technical side of music production can make collaboration with producers much smoother. It’s also a great way to play around with the sound of music—layering instruments, experimenting with beats, and bringing your vision to life.

4. Train Your Voice and Instrument Skills

Your voice and instruments are your tools, and no matter how naturally talented you are, they need sharpening. Think of vocal training like going to the gym. You’re building endurance, strength, and technique to ensure you’re always performance-ready. And no, you don’t need to aim for opera-level vocals unless that’s your thing.

When it comes to instruments, start with the basics. Learn your chords, master simple songs, and gradually tackle more complex techniques. It’s okay to fumble—it’s part of the journey. The best artists don’t just stick to one skill; they’re always learning, whether it’s new scales, genres, or even exploring music theory. Having a solid foundation in both voice and instrument skills will give you the confidence to perform and the ability to stand out in the competitive music industry.

5. Build Stage Presence Like a Pro

Stage presence is where raw talent meets showmanship. Even if your vocals are spot-on and your songwriting is award-worthy, a flat performance can leave your audience unmoved. Developing stage presence is about confidence and connection. Start small—perform for a friend, your pet, or even just your bedroom mirror.

Practice makes progress, and the more comfortable you are, the more natural you’ll feel under the spotlight. Watch live performances of artists you admire and take notes on what captivates you. Is it their energy? How do they engage with the crowd? Their body language? Apply those elements to your performances, but always stay authentic to your style. Remember, your stage presence is what transforms a good gig into an unforgettable experience.

6. Master the Art of Networking

The music industry isn’t just about what you know—it’s who you know. But let’s clear one thing up: networking isn’t just sliding into DMs with an AI essay about how you love the person or exchanging business cards at events. It’s about building genuine relationships. Start by connecting with local artists, attending workshops, or joining music forums.

Don’t think of it as self-promotion. Think of it as a chance to collaborate, learn, and grow. Networking can open doors to everything from gigs to collaborations to partnerships with a record label. And don’t overlook online platforms—they’re a goldmine for finding like-minded musicians and potential mentors. If you approach networking with authenticity, people will remember you for the right reasons.

7. Leverage Social Media and Streaming Platforms

We’re in the age of viral videos and streaming platforms, where anyone can go from unknown to chart-topper overnight. But before you hit “post,” let’s talk strategy. Your social media isn’t just about showing off—it’s your portfolio. Share your songwriting process, behind-the-scenes snippets, or clips of your performances. People love to see the person behind the music.

Streaming platforms are your stage to the world, and you don’t even have to sign with a social media marketing agency for artist management right from the start. Upload your tracks to get your music out there and let fans discover your sound. Consistency is key, so make a posting schedule you can stick to. Want to level up? Learn about social media marketing strategies to expand your reach and connect with audiences. Whether it’s 10 followers or 10,000, your online presence is where your career begins.

There’s no single path to becoming a successful musician, but investing in education and professional development is a great start. Trusted platforms like Berklee Online have courses on everything from songwriting to music production. Workshops, local music schools, and mentorship programs are also excellent options. Remember, even the most talented artists are lifelong learners—they continuously refine their craft.

Quavo Evokes Kodak Black’s “No Sex” Freestyle Fending Off Thirsty Fans In Thailand

Quavo hilariously channeled Kodak Black while being mobbed by a group of admirers in Thailand.

The former Migos rapper was in the country to perform on Day 1 of Rolling Loud Thailand 2024 alongside the likes of Tyga, Waka Flocka and headliner A$AP Rocky.

On Monday (November 25), Quavo took to Instagram to share some highlights from his trip. Among the footage was a video of the Georgia native being mobbed by a group on a packed street.

The video shows Quavo surrounded closely by his entourage as a group of thirsty fans attempt to maul him. Finding humor in the situation, Quavo recited a recent bizarre Kodak Black freestyle. “No, no, no! I don’t want no sex!” he yelled while smiling. “I don’t want it.”

While the country has become a notorious “sex tourism” destination, it’s unclear if any of the individuals in the video were sex workers.

Kodak Black went viral after dropping some bars off the dome during a recent livestream with Kai Cenat. The Twitch star gazed in amazement as Black freestyled about rejecting sexual advances. He later admitted he was under the influence of Percocet during the stream.

Meanwhile, Quavo recently joined forces with The Kid LAROI on the singer’s new single “Slow It Down.” Ironically, the track sees LAROI urge their lover to reign it in, with Quavo advising, “Slow motion better than no motion.”

Quavo could have another collab on his hands, with the WWE, if wrestler Trick Williams has anything to do with it. He recently suggested the “Without You” hitmaker would be the ideal artist to remix his theme song.

“I always thought Quavo would be able to kill this beat,” Williams said during a recent interview. “I think Quavo would be really good. If I had to do it myself, I’ll do it myself.”

Khalid Responds To Domestic Abuse & Drug Use Allegations After Being Outed By Ex-Boyfriend

Khalid is breaking his silence on damning allegations of domestic abuse and drug misuse levied by an ex-boyfriend, who recently outed him as being gay.

Over the weekend, the singer’s former boyfriend Hugo D Almonte made a series of claims about the singer, including alleging that Khalid served him drugs, hired sex workers to pose as partners and was abusive.

Khalid admitted that he was indeed gay and wasn’t trying to hide it. He followed up with a video Monday (November 25), addressing Almonte’s claims.

Khalid responded to each of Almonte’s allegations in turn, beginning with claims he used “pink cocaine.”

“I’ve never done cocaine a day in my life,” he stated. “I don’t place myself in those scenarios. I’m not in those surroundings. I smoke weed and I drink [alcohol] a little bit. But I’ve never done cocaine a day in my life. For real.”

Khalid also addressed the “escort” allegations, insisting he has never paid for sex nor paid anybody to date him.

“The last time I talked to this guy was four years ago,” he added. “This is all random, I don’t know why he did it, and I don’t know what’s going on with him. Mental health is real, but I haven’t even had a conversation or seen this dude in four years.”

Khalid said the allegations were “triggering” to be painted as a “manipulative abuser,” implying he was on the receiving end of any domestic abuse.

He added, “Regarding the stories of the abuse, it’s triggering because it’s the other way around, and that’s what hurts. That’s what hurts the most.”

Before signing off, Khalid clarified that his upcoming releases had been planned long before any of the drama erupted online and denied faking controversy as a “publicity stunt.”

Nicki Minaj Snaps On Troll Asking If She’s High

Nicki Minaj didn’t mince her words, blasting a troll who asked if she was high while on Instagram Live.

On Monday (November 25), the NYC-bred rapper was in the middle of a talk with her fans when a troll entered the chat, asking if she was under the influence.

“Am I high again?” Minaj responded. “Sweetie, sweet baby Ray. Yes I’m high. I’m the highest streamed female rapper again on Spotify.”

Nicki Minaj then proceeded to go in on the troll, adding, “If that’s what you meant by high again before you got your ass blocked and cursed.”

She continued her rant, taunting the troll, adding, “I’ll get high right now, b####. The f### wrong with you ho? F### you think you talking ‘bout? Who the f### you think you talking to?”

Nicki Minaj then doubled down before joking that she would return later to show what “high” looks like.

“No, I am not high as a kite,” she replied to another comment. “Oh, trust me…give me about eight to nine hours, and I’ll come back if you want to see that level.”

Nicki Minaj Drops New Music & Teases 2025 Plans

Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj recently teased some announcements for 2025, including a new album and tour. She confirmed she will be hitting the road alongside the “next official album.”

Tyrese Dismisses Illuminati Rumors In Heated Rant: “No Devil Worshiping Over Here”

Tyrese didn’t hold back while issuing a PSA to address rumors he’s part of a shadowy secret society tied to the Illuminati and is hiding his sexuality.

He took to Instagram on Monday (November 25), with a video setting the record straight, denying any involvement in demonic practices and affirming his faith in God.

“I’m not gay, ain’t never been gay. I’m not a part of a secret gay, or a public gay,” Tyrese said, addressing the rumors about his sexuality.

The singer and actor then turned to allegations he’s a member of a devil-worshipping cult.

Tyrese Blasts Illuminati Sacrifice Rumors

Tyrese then addressed viral rumors that he sacrificed loved ones for fame and fortune as part of an Illuminati ritual.

“Sacrificing who?” he questioned. “If I’m sacrificing my friends …why my bank account ain’t changed? Where’s the private plane? Where’s the lifestyle? Goofy muthafucaks.”

He also dismissed videos of him wearing a “dress” on a trip to Abu Dhabi earlier this year.

“That ain’t no dress. It’s called a kandura,” he explained. “That’s what you wear in the Middle East. It’s not a dress. There is no sacrifice. There is no ritual.”

Tyrese doubled down in the caption, writing, “Devils and devil worshipers ain’t gonna like this video -They appear to be WINNING lol.”

Blueface’s Mother Claims Rapper’s Been Released From Prison Amid Marriage Rumors Rant

Blueface’s mother appears to have let the cat out of the bag and revealed that the “Thotiana” rapper has been released from prison.

A judge slapped Blueface with a four-year sentence for a probation violation in August, and the Los Angeles native shared his hopes to be home by spring 2025.

But according to his mother, Karlissa Saffold Harvey, Blueface is already home. She let it slip out during a rant about her sister, who she accused of spreading rumors that Blueface married his on-again-off-off-again partner Chrisean Rock.

“Now y’all just going to let anybody in the circus,” she said, referencing her sister Karletta. “Just ‘cuz Blue home y’all just letting anybody in.”

Blueface’s Mom Addresses Rumors Blueface Married Chrisean Rock

Meanwhile, Harvey continued to put down her sister and claimed she was spreading rumors for clout. Harvey also reacted to Chrisean Rock changing her Instagram bio to Chrisean Porter amid the alleged marriage.

“You got to stand in front of the pastor. You got to sign them documents,” she said, arguing her son did not tie the knot. “Marriage is not something you just say. Do y’all understand that?”

Nonetheless, she ultimately conceded that Blueface and Chrisean might have become husband and wife. “If they married, that’s them,” she stated. “They won and that’s what it is and that’s what you would all have to respect it as.”

Harvey was responding to a recent livestream featuring Blueface’s aunt, Karletta.

“On behalf of the Harvey family, we would like for y’all to officially put some respect on [Mrs.] Chrisean Malone Porter’s name,” she declared. “She is his wife, it has been confirmed.”

However, Harvey fiercely rejected the claims via her Instagram Story.

”The news is, they lied on her and him and they are not married,” Harvey wrote in one post. “Stop wishing bad things on young people you know are not meant for each other. Period.”

It’s worth noting a video of Blueface inside a jail cell recently made the rounds.

Social Media In Shambles Amid Drake’s Legal Complaint Over Kendrick Lamar Diss

News of Drake taking legal action over Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” sent shockwaves through social media.

On Monday (November 25), the OVO founder accused Universal Music Group (UMG) and Spotify of covertly and illegally inflating streaming numbers for K. Dot’s “Not Like Us.”

He claimed the companies “Launched a campaign to manipulate and saturate the streaming services and airwaves” with the song and accused UMG of lowering their licensing rate by 30 percent for “Not Like Us.”

Music fans flooded social media with reactions to the complaint. Many questioned why he didn’t sue Kendrick Lamar over salacious allegations in the diss tracks instead of taking legal action against his label.

Others argued Drake was just as guilty, claiming he also benefited from inflated numbers and using bots and claimed he ended his career.

“This is Drakes official exit from hip hop,” one user shared. “He can’t ever recover from this. It’s over.”

Another added, “This whole thing hilarious when you remember Pusha T told yall UMG was inflating drakes numbers years ago lol.”

However, amid the trolling, others honed in on the wider context of the lawsuit, claiming Drake exposing alleged common music industry practices is beneficial for all artists.

Meanwhile, a UMG rep swiftly responded to the complaint, branding the allegations “offensive and untrue.” The rep also called added, “No amount of contrived and absurd legal arguments in this pre-action submission can mask the fact that fans choose the music they want to hear.”

Check out some other reactions to Drake’s latest move below.

Drake’s Legal Complaint Against UMG & Spotify Over Kendrick Lamar Diss Prompts Responses

Drake’s own record label has responded to his pre-action lawsuit within hours of the news regarding the legal complaint circulating on social media.

For those who may be behind on the matter, Drake’s company, Frozen Moments LLC, filed a legal complaint in a Manhattan court on Monday (November 25) against Universal Music Group (UMG) and Spotify, accusing the two entities of engaging in an illegal scheme to artificially boost the streaming numbers for Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us.”

At the center of the lawsuit is the claim that UMG engaged in deceptive business practices and violations of the RICO Act, typically reserved for organized crime cases, by employing bots, payola and other manipulative tactics to inflate the track’s popularity.

A UMG rep provided a response to Variety mere hours after the news broke and denied any validity to the claims made in the complaint.

“The suggestion that UMG would do anything to undermine any of its artists is offensive and untrue,” the rep told Variety. “We employ the highest ethical practices in our marketing and promotional campaigns. No amount of contrived and absurd legal arguments in this pre-action submission can mask the fact that fans choose the music they want to hear.”

UMG wasn’t the only entity to respond to the news of the legal complaint either. Lamar’s former Top Dawg Entertainment label executive Punch appeared to swear off rap once-and-for-all upon word of the litigation reaching his desk.

“Naaaaaahhhh,” Punch wrote in the tweet. “The rap streets is done. SMH.” Lamar’s “Not Like Us” producer Mustard also appeared to respond to the news in disbelief in a tweet, as well.

“OMG lmfaooooooooo,” Mustard wrote in the since-deleted tweet.

While it’s worth noting that the recent filing has not yet ballooned into a full blown lawsuit, the pre-action” petition serves as a procedural step under New York law as a means of securing information before filing a lawsuit.

Additionally, Drake’s attorneys claim that UMG violated the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act threatens to drag the possible case into serious territory—considering the act is typically used in criminal cases targeting organized crime.

In a sense, Drake’s legal team is attempting to go after UMG and Spotify using the same sort of charges Young Thug battled in his epic YSL RICO case, which Drake signaled he bankrolled the Atlanta rapper’s defense in the case in an Instagram Story post earlier this year.

Did Blueface & Chrisean Rock Secretly Get Married?

Blueface and Chrisean Rock have social media users speculating whether or not they have finally decided to tie the knot, despite the fact that the West Coast rapper is still incarcerated.

On or about November 24, the couple known for the toxic dynamic of their on-again-off-again relationship teased their new status as lawfully wedded spouses by tagging each other with bride and groom emojis in their Instagram bio’s.

The update to their bios follows new video surfacing of Blueface’s likeness inundated with several new face tattoos he seemingly procured while in jail serving his four year sentence over a probation violation. Much like she spoke out against her son’s choice to gorge on body modification while in jail, Blueface’s mother, Karlissa Saffold Harvey, expressed her disapproval and claimed that news of the marriage was false in a series of posts on her Story and direct to her page.

”The news is, they lied on her and him and they are not married,” Harvey wrote in the Story post. “Stop wishing bad things on young people you know are not meant for each other. Period.”

In a post she shared on her profile, Harvey called out her sister Karletta over apparently starting the rumor as a means of revenge. According to Harvey, Blueface’s aunt attempted to announce her son’s marriage to Chrisean because she’s “thirsty” and attempting to capitalize on family matters for a cash grab.

“My own sister thirsty for clout now let’s see how she reap from trying to rob my family out of a moment that had nothing to do with her [shrug emoji] she is not his aunt because an aunt would never use my sons union for evil.”

This isn’t the first time that Blueface and Chrisean fans have been fed the narrative that the pair jumped the broom. Last year in January the couple broke the internet with footage of what appeared to be from their wedding — but it turned out to be for Blueface’s music video “Dear Rock.”

Check out the post above for additional context on how the rumor started.

Kendrick Lamar Allegedly Responds To Drake’s Rumored Livestream Shade In Telling Text Thread

One of Kendrick Lamar’s affiliates within his inner circle may have just shared his response to the subliminal shots Drake took at him during his latest appearance with a popular streamer.

For those who missed it, Drake joined forces with Kick streamer xQc for a broadcast that was filled with shady jabs aimed at artist such as Steve Lacy, The Weeknd, Metro Boomin and more. And while the layers of sneak disses ran deep throughout the stream, fans took notice to the fact that the OVO founder opted to immediately reference Lamar seconds into his arrival on the stream — especially amid the release of his surprise new album GNX.

“I’m Drake, this is xQc, real streaming legend,” he said introducing himself to the stream. “Me, I do music, in case you don’t know.”

Drake then appeared to address Lamar’s shots on the project and and their ongoing beef, adding “I’m here, as you can see, fully intact. Mind, body, and soul. In case you are wondering, right? You need facts to take me out. Fairytales won’t do it.”

Following his passive aggressive slight, an Instagram user appeared to call Drake out in a Story post in which he reduced the multiplatinum Canadian rapper to that of a podcaster in an alleged text exchange with Lamar. The man, whose username is da4lking, appeared to get a rousing response from the “squabble up” rapper after initially laughing off Drake’s petty remarks.

“He trippin,” Lamar questioned in a message, seemingly signaling his willingness to clash with his arch nemisis.

While it’s unclear exactly to what extent the IG user and Lamar are connected, it’s clear that their ties are somewhat longstanding judging by the activity on the profile of the man who shared the text thread. Before he made his profile private, I was able to spot a post da4lking shared in 2022 featuring a screenshot of a livestream conversation he and Lamar shared. For those questioning the validity of the exchange, keep in mind, Lamar’s close collaborator and blood relative Hitta J3 tipped fans off about his album months before the arrival. Hitta J3 also recently debunked the rumors circulating regarding a physical altercation between YG and one of Drake’s OVO associates. So in other words, credible information has definitely come from Lamar’s entourage in the past, why would that all of the sudden change now?

Check out the thread in the clip from the stream in the post above.
