Lil Wayne Trolls Super Bowl Snub In “Time Sensitive” Album Announcement

Lil Wayne has revealed the exciting announcement he teased in anticipation of the upcoming Super Bowl LIX—and it does indeed correlate to his forthcoming album.

On Thursday (February 6), the New Orleans native shared an Instagram post featuring an early Super Bowl ad for moisturizing company Cetaphil in which he stars alongside actor and alternative artist Bookem Woodbine.

In a move which appears to both troll and leverage his “sensitive” reaction to Kendrick Lamar being named as the headliner of the halftime show in his hometown, Wayne announced his album the Carter VI will arrive in early June.

“Sometimes, we all get a Lil Sensitive… and hey, who hasn’t been there?” Wayne wrote in the caption of the post. “Right, @Cetaphil? Because if you can’t solve your sensitive situation, you can at least soothe your sensitive skin. #LilSensitive #PassTheCetaphil #CetaphilPartner #SeatToFill.”

While Lil Wayne didn’t provide any other additional details on the project, other than the June 6 release date, he did issue a “do not disturb” message to fans further pointing to the aforementioned calendared arrival. However, the verbiage of the announcement could also be a reference to his response to Kendrick Lamar over the bars the West Coast MC name-dropped him in on his GNX album track “wacced out murals,” which also indirectly quotes Wayne’s statement about not being selected to perform at the Super Bowl.

For context, Kendrick Lamar raps, “I used to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud/The irony I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down,” on the song.

In a statement Lil Wayne shared on Twitter (X) last November, he responded with a message for those trying to draw him into lyrical warfare.

“Man wtf I do?!” he began. “I just be chillin & dey still kome 4 my head. Let’s not take kindness for weakness.”

He warned, “Let this giant sleep. I beg u all. No one really wants destruction, not even me but I shall destroy if disturbed. On me. Love.”

Stay tuned for more details and check out the quirky ad Wayne is featured in that doubles as the album announcement in the post above.

50 Cent’s Son Roasts Lil Meech: “You Thought You Were Special?”

50 Cent’s son Marquise Jackson may have been estranged from his famous father for years, but he’s a chip off the old block when it comes to trolling, poking fun at Lil Meech amid the drama over Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory linking up with Fif’s longtime nemesis Rick Ross.

On Thursday (February 6), Marquise Jackson issued a PSA seemingly aimed at Lil Meech, the star of 50 Cent’s BMF series.

He opened his message by stating it was meant for anyone who needed to hear it.

“You thought you were special?” he said with a chuckle. “You really thought you were special. Who told you you were special?”

Jackson then burst into laughter before ending the video.

Lil Meech Taunted Marquise Jackson Son Over Father-Son Day Request To 50 Cent

While Marquise did name a specific person, Lil Meech waded into one of the 50 Cent’s public disagreements with his son.

Back in 2022, Marquise sarcastically offered his father $6,700—the same amount 50 Cent paid in monthly child support—to spend a day with him. The post featured a photo of Marquise sitting on the floor with “entitled” spelled out in cash.

However, Lil Meech hopped into Marquise’s comments, taunting him.

“You Stupid,” he said. “I’ll Take 5 Over There Myself I Might Even Play Some Games With You.”

50 Cent’s son’s latest post follows the G-Unit boss calling out Lil Meech’s dad. Fif recently called Big Meech a “rat” after the former BMF boss posed for a photo with Rick Ross, who is set to perform at Meech’s Welcome Back Concert in Miami next week.

Then, 50 exposed Lil Meech’s alleged DMs and hinted the upcoming season of BMF will be its last.

“F### Rick Ross but he gave my dad some bread so he can afford to pay his bills until our next season starts,” Lil Meech wrote. “This internet s### is throwing me off.”

50 Cent captioned the post, “What next season little [ninja emoji].”

Kanye West Reveals Startling Moment That Inspired “Bully” Album

Kanye West unveiled the inspiration behind his upcoming album Bully, revealing its origins stem from a candid conversation with his 9-year-old son, Saint.

Speaking on The Download podcast with Justin Laboy, the rap mogul shared a moment that left an impression on him as both an artist and a father.

“My son was playing with some kid and then he kicked him,” Kanye West, 47, recalled. “I asked my son, I said, ‘Why did you do that?’ And he said, ‘Cause he weak.'”

Shocked by Saint’s blunt response, West admitted the interaction made him reflect on the idea of dominance and confrontation.

“And I was like, ‘This man is really a bully right here.’ Don’t Saint do that? Just kick everybody and like push him over.”

Kanye West shares four children with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian—North, 11, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5. Though he’s known for his avant-garde approach to music and fashion, his role as a father has seemingly influenced his artistic direction more than ever.

Beyond family influences, West also discussed his fascination with Japan, a place he says he feels deeply connected to.

“I love the temples. I love how people are with you, it’s just really respectful,” he explained on the podcast. “And my wife said that in a past life I was a king, I was an emperor out here.”

Slated for release on June 15, the album Bully is intentionally dropping on North’s 12th birthday.

West has previously credited his eldest daughter for reigniting his passion for music, writing on Instagram, “This little girl made me love music again. She asked me to make beats for her. I got back on the ASR Chopped up beats for album and chopped every beat with my bare hand for Bully.”

Kendrick Lamar Breaks Silence On Drake Battle & Super Bowl Halftime Show

Kendrick Lamar is opening up about his battle with Drake and his upcoming Super Bowl Halftime show performance in a new interview just days before the Big Game.

The Compton rapper sat down with Apple Music’s Nadeska and Ebro for a candid conversation.

Kendrick Lamar reflected on the prestigious opportunity, expressing his pride in showcasing the culture and pushing the boundaries of the art form.

When asked if he aimed to set the tone for 2024 and carry the culture forward, Kendrick Lamar clarified that his mission remains unchanged. At his core, Lamar sees himself as a battle emcee, deeply rooted in Hip-Hop’s essence.

“My intent from day one was to always keep the nature of it as a sport,” he stated. “I love when artists grit their teeth. I still watch battle rap—Smack URL, from Murda Mook to [Loaded] Lux to Tay Roc, my bro Daylyt. This has always been the core definition of who I am, it’s been that way since day one.”

Lamar went on, stating that in recent times, he felt that the genre was being pushed to the background, losing its raw energy and competitive edge. He noticed a lack of hunger and intensity in the game, which influenced his approach to making music.

“It was always just a continuum,” he added. “What I will say about this year, it was more from a space where I think a lot of people was putting rap to the back. You didn’t see that grit, you didn’t see that bite anymore. So I always took that into consideration going into any type of my music.”

Kendrick Lamar On The Success Of “Not Like Us”

Kendrick Lamar also addressed the success of his Drake diss, “Not Like Us,” which swept the Grammys last weekend.

“Knowing that what I have put in as far as my thinking process, and what it takes to get there, I do not look at it as a small endeavor because it is a hit record,” he asserted. “Nah, it’s actually some writing on that shot. Whether it connects with you on a spiritual level or a comedic level or connects with you on a personal dynamic, it is still from a writer’s point of view.”

Kendrick Lamar will perform at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime show on Sunday, February 9. The event will take place at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Pop Smoke’s Mom Shares Statement After Murder Suspect’s Plea Deal

Pop Smoke’s mom, Audrey Jackson, has issued a heartbroken statement one of the four men responsible for the rapper’s death accepted a plea deal, finally bringing an end to the nearly five-year prosecution.

Corey Walker, the only adult defendant in the case, reportedly accepted a plea deal from prosecutors. Walker will likely be handed 29 years in prison at his upcoming sentencing on February 21, but Pop Smoke’s mom will not be there to witness it.

Rolling Stone reporter Nancy Dillon shared a conversation with Audrey Jackson on social media Wednesday (February 5) following news of the plea deal.

According to Dillon, Jackson is still reeling from the loss of her son and the trial hasn’t changed anything.

“It’s over for everybody except for me,” Jackson stated. “This never ends for me. And that’s unfair.”

While Pop Smoke’s mom is grateful that justice was served, it hasn’t lessened her grief.

“I appreciate they got justice to the fullest extent of the law,” she added. “But my life doesn’t change. I still don’t have my son.”

Instead of attending Walker’s sentencing, Jackson will be celebrating her son’s life at a gala in his honor.

“I have not been holding animosity,” Jackson told the reporter. “I’ve just been getting through this. There’s just nothing to say [at Corey Walker’s sentencing]. Everybody’s life has been ruined.”

Corey Walker, 24, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and home invasion robbery on February 5. He was initially charged with murder and could have faced life in prison without parole.

Walker is the only defendant charged as an adult in the case. Prosecutors accused Walker of leading three juveniles in the deadly home invasion robbery.

A 15-year-old admitted to being the triggerman and was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison. However, under California law, the maximum age for juvenile detention is 25 years old.

The two other underage defendants have already admitted to their roles in juvenile court.

Irv Gotti’s Family Breaks Silence On His Death

Irv Gotti’s family issued a heartfelt statement confirming his death and celebrating his impactful legacy in shaping Hip-Hop and R&B history.

On Wednesday (February 5), AllHipHop confirmed the visionary music producer and influential co-founder of Murder Inc. Records had died at the age of 54. Now, his children are breaking their silence.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Irving ‘Irv Gotti’ Lorenzo, on February 5, 2025. Surrounded by family and friends, he departed this world, leaving behind a legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him and the countless lives he touched,” the statement read.

A post shared by Irving Lorenzo (@irvgotti187)

Irv Gotti’s storied career as an executive began in the mid-1990s as an A&R at TVT Records, where he initially signed Ja Rule.

From there, Gotti moved to Def Jam and signed a then-up-and-coming rapper named DMX to Def Jam in 1997. Gotti quickly ascended to prominence, producing DMX’s critically acclaimed debut album, It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot, the following year.

That same year, he co-founded Murder Inc. Records alongside his brother, Chris Gotti, introducing a new era during which the Hip-Hop and R&B crossover met chart-topping success.

During the early 2000s, Irv Gotti delivered hits like Jennifer Lopez’s “I’m Real” featuring Ja Rule and Ashanti’s “Foolish.” As a producer, he helped launch Ashanti’s rise with her self-titled debut album, which became a cornerstone of 2000s-era music.

Gotti’s family requested privacy as they grappled with their loss.

“As we navigate this difficult time, we kindly ask for privacy while we grieve the loss of our dad, son, brother, uncle, and friend. We take comfort in knowing that his spirit will live on through his music and the love he shared with all of us. Thank you for your understanding and support during this challenging time,” the family shared.

Wendy Williams Denies Dementia Diagnosis: Guardian Requests New Medical Opinion

Wendy Williams‘ legal guardian is responding to her recent claims that she isn’t suffering from dementia by seeking an updated medical evaluation.

The former TV maven was placed under court-ordered guardianship initiated by her bank, Wells Fargo, in 2022.

Williams’ court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, wants her to undergo a new medical evaluation following Wendy’s recent public statements.

Williams was previously diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia at Weill Cornell Medical Center in 2023. She had previously opened up about battling Graves’ disease and lymphedema.

In a lawsuit last November, Morrissey claimed Williams suffers from “dementia” and “has become cognitively impaired, permanently disabled, and legally incapacitated.”

However, the 60-year-old former talk show host challenged this during multiple recent interviews.

During a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club via telephone, Wendy Williams insisted she does not want to pursue a lawsuit against A&E over the four-part Lifetime documentary Where Is Wendy Williams?

Williams explained that she stands to win $ 20 million in the lawsuit but said she did not agree with the suit filed by Morrissey.

While Williams said she hated the four-part docuseries, it would not stop her from working with the network again.

“I don’t want that kind of money, you know, I’ve worked with Lifetime several times,” she explained. “Enough that I would love to do something with Lifetime again. They are good people to me and I am good people to them.”

She also opened up about the documentary which she watched with Morrissey.

“I only watched [the docuseries] once and I will never watch again in life,” William declared. “It was disgusting and by the way I watched it with my guardianship person. Yes, we watched that together. That was the first time this guardianship person was like “Oh my gosh” and she was writing stuff down. I was looking like “Oh my god” do you know what I’m saying? What happened with this?”

Following the interview, Morrissey recommends comprehensive neurological and psychological testing.

She told the court overseeing Williams case that it “would be prudent for [Wendy Williams] to undergo a new medical evaluation that will involve comprehensive neurological and psychological testing by a specialist in the field,” according to TMZ

Morrissey also wants to pause the A&E lawsuit pending a new medical evaluation. Nonetheless, she suggests new testing is unlikely to change the current determination.

Joey Badass & Serayah Seemingly Expecting First Child

Joey Bada$$ and his girlfriend Serayah are seemingly expanding their family after the actress and singer made a surprising revelation during New York Fashion Week, seemingly hinting at her pregnancy.

Serayah walked the runway at the lingerie brand AdoreMe’s runway show wearing a bright red matching set and fluffy white robe while proudly displaying her growing belly, prompting fans to speculate the couple is expecting a baby.

The moment quickly went viral, with social media buzzing about her potential journey into motherhood. While neither Joey Bada$$ nor Serayah have confirmed the news, her runway appearance has sparked considerable excitement.

Rumors of a romance between Joey Bada$$ and Serayah began in February 2023 when the Brooklyn rapper shared a photo of himself and the Empire star cozying up during a restaurant date.

They confirmed their relationship that June, with Joey Bada$$ whisking Serayah off for a romantic vacation to celebrate her birthday.

Joey shared some of their trip memories on Instagram while honoring his girlfriend.

“Happy birthday my love,” he captioned the clip. Serayah responded in his comment section replying, “Thank you mi amor.”

Whispers of trouble in their relationship began circulating after a video of the couple arguing surfaced online last March.

The video of Serayah crying provided little context. The couple was engaged in a conversation when she broke down in tears. Joey was seen consoling her in the footage.

Despite the breakup rumors, Joey Bada$$ responded by posting loved-up photos on social media.

“TMZ all in our business they don’t even know the facts,” Joey wrote in the caption. “They don’t see the s### we witness only what the cameras catch.”

Irv Gotti helped launch Ja Rule’s career at Murder Inc., collaborating with him for over a decade to create numerous hit songs. Def Jam Deeply “Saddened” By Irv Gotti’s Tragic Death

Def Jam Recordings, where Gotti launched his career as an A&R, shared a statement on Instagram expressing deep sadness.

“Brothers and Sisters Please dont let Irv Gotti go without acknowledging the tragedy of his death and of black men’s and womens health in America,” he wrote in part. “This talented , beautiful, happy, curious enthusiastic spirit has left his body way too soon ..I am sure God will recieve him with love.”

50 Cent Ruthlessly Taunts Irv Gotti Following His Death—Gets Dragged

50 Cent has wasted no time in trolling Irv Gotti amid reports of the legendary Hip-Hop producer and Murder Inc. co-founder’s death on Wednesday (February 5).

While members of the Hip-Hop community expressed condolences and shared fond memories, the G-Unit founder showed no such compassion, rushing to Instagram to taunt his longstanding nemesis.

“I’m smoking on dat Gotti pack,” 50 Cent wrote alongside an image of him smoking hookah next to a tombstone prop. “Nah God bless him ️[dove emoji] LOL.”

Fif also shared a second slide featuring a photo of Gotti, making clear who he was referring to.

Nonetheless, even without the clarification, 50 Cent had trolled Irv Gotti just hours before AllHipHop broke news of his death

He shared a report claiming that Gotti was on “life support” and in critical condition. The report also noted that his loved ones are saying their final goodbyes.

Mocking Gotti’s condition, 50 Cent wrote, “Damn I wanted him to see my new shows yo!”

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

He also trolled Gotti after he was photographed walking with a cane following a stroke last August. Shortly before that 50 Cent had fired another shot at Irv Gotti in their decades-long feud, teasing a possible Murder. Inc docuseries.

The music mogul, who had a history of health issues, passed away days after suffering another stroke that caused a brain bleed. The official cause of death has not been announced.

50 Cent and Irv Gotti have been at odds since 1999, when an associate of the rapper allegedly robbed Ja Rule, Gotti’s artist, in Queens. Over the decades, their rivalry has escalated through violent altercations, diss tracks, and accusations of snitching.

50 Cent Claps Back At Lil Meech Over BMF Drama: “What Next Season?”

50 Cent is on a savage streak! Even Lil Meech can get it! The young actor, best known for playing his father, Big Meech, in BMF, reportedly reached out to 50 to smooth things over. That olive branch went up in flames!

Lil Meech tried it. But it truly seemed like he was advocating for his own future in the BMF franchise. But if he thought 50 was going to just let bygones be bygones, he clearly forgot who he was dealing with. When Lil Meech mentioned BMF‘s next season, 50 hit him with a cold and calculated “What next season?” DAYUM! We like Lil Meech! 50 ain’t have to put his whole text on the internet!

This beef is about loyalty. Lil Meech acknowledged that Big Meech took money from Rick Ross at a time when he needed it. Should he have held out? Maybe. Maybe not. We all know that 50 Cent and Rozay have had a long-standing feud. If you’re in any way connected to the enemy, you’re no longer in the inner circle. And once you’re out? Good luck clawing your way back in. Damn, Lil Meech! Dang it!

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

The crazy part? Lil Meech probably thought 50 was his guy. This is the man who not only put him in the acting game but also played a huge role in reviving BMF as a brand. The young Meech is now learning the hard way that friendships in the entertainment industry come with terms and conditions. And when it comes to 50, you either follow the loyalty clause, or you’re out of contract. No word on what Starz may have to say about this, but I happen to believe the show was already in decline.

Now, can ould Big Meech, Lil Meech and BMF recover from this? Possibly. If Lil Meech plays his cards right, he might be able to salvage his acting career outside of 50’s empire. But if he moves crazily? 50 cultivates beef like a a farm and then serves it raw.

Meanwhile, on a completely different front, 50 also took some shots at Irv Gotti. Bro just died, but we knew this was coming.

The Connection Between Hip Hop Jewelry & Harlembling

For decades, hip hop has been about making bold fashion statements, and nothing symbolizes that more than the iced out jewelry worn by artists and fans. From oversized diamond pendants to glittering chains and earrings, hip hop jewelry symbolizes success, status, and personal expression. This evolution of extravagant jewelry, often referred to as the ‘bling era,’ highlights the significance of these pieces as markers of success and personal expression within the hip hop culture. For years, the options to get that bling were limited and polarizing.

Traditionally, hip hop jewelry enthusiasts had two options: cubic zirconia (CZ) or natural diamonds. Cubic zirconia, while affordable, is widely recognized as the cheap synthetic alternative that lacks the brilliance and prestige of real diamonds. Natural diamonds, with their unmatched sparkle and cultural cache, come with a price tag that’s prohibitive for many. A pair of 1-carat natural diamond earrings can cost upwards of $10,000. Even lab-grown diamonds, which are also synthetic but chemically identical to natural ones, can cost around $3,000 for the same size.

Enter Harlembling. In 2014, Harlembling changed the hip hop jewelry game by introducing moissanite to the mass market. Moissanite, a gemstone known for its incredible brilliance and durability, became a game-changer. Not only does moissanite pass the diamond tester—an essential for authenticity in the jewelry world—but it also has nearly the same sparkle as diamonds at a fraction of the cost.

Thanks to Harlembling, iced out earrings, pendants, rings, and chains made with moissanite became accessible to a much broader audience. For under $100, you can buy moissanite studs that rival high-end diamond jewelry. This democratization of bling has allowed more people to rock hip hop fashion without breaking the bank, all while maintaining the style and shine the culture demands.

Harlembling’s innovation didn’t just make jewelry more affordable. It reshaped the landscape of hip hop fashion. By offering high-quality, visually stunning pieces at affordable prices, Harlembling has given artists, fans, and fashion-forward individuals the freedom to express themselves fully regardless of their budget. The brand has become a staple in the hip hop community, proving you don’t need to spend a fortune to shine bright in the ever-changing world of hip hop, where authenticity is everything. Harlembling has found a niche. Their moissanite pieces are an affordable alternative to diamonds and keep the culture of hip hop jewelry—big, bright, and unapologetic.

Introduction

Hip-hop culture has come a long way since its humble beginnings in the 1970s. From its early days as a form of self-expression and personal style to its current status as a global phenomenon, hip-hop has evolved significantly over the years. One aspect of hip-hop culture that has gained immense popularity is hip-hop jewelry. In this article, we will explore the evolution of hip-hop culture and jewelry, the significance of hip-hop jewelry, and the latest trends in the industry.

The Evolution of Hip Hop Culture and Jewelry

Hip hop culture originated in the Bronx, New York, in the 1970s as a form of self-expression and personal style. Hip hop artists, known as MCs (masters of ceremonies), adorned themselves with simple, personalized jewelry, such as gold-plated and silver chains, oversized nameplate pendants, and large hoop earrings. These jewelry pieces became iconic symbols of the burgeoning hip hop scene. As hip hop gained mainstream popularity in the 1980s, so did the desire for more extravagant and attention-grabbing jewelry. Rap superstars like Run DMC, LL Cool J, and Public Enemy played a pivotal role in bringing hip hop jewelry to the forefront of popular culture.

The Significance of Hip Hop Jewelry

Hip hop jewelry has become a symbol of success and personal expression. It is no longer just a fashion statement; it is a form of self-expression and a way to showcase one’s individuality. Hip hop jewelry has also become a status symbol, with many artists and fans using it to showcase their wealth and success. The culture of hip hop jewelry has evolved over the years, with new trends and styles emerging all the time. From iced out jewelry to custom-made pieces, hip hop jewelry has become a staple of the hip hop scene.

Moissanite in Hip Hop Jewelry

Moissanite is a popular choice in the hip hop scene for its affordability and similarity to diamonds. Moissanite is a lab-created gemstone that is close to real diamonds in terms of appearance and quality. It is often used in iced out jewelry, including rings, pendants, chains, earrings, and more. Harlembling is a popular jeweler that specializes in moissanite jewelry and is known for its high-quality products and excellent customer service. Moissanite is a more affordable alternative to diamonds, which can be expensive and lose value over time.

Sustainability and Inclusivity in Hip Hop Jewelry

Sustainability and inclusivity are becoming increasingly important in the hip hop jewelry industry. Many hip hop artists and fans are now opting for eco-friendly and ethically sourced jewelry. Harlembling is a reputable and trustworthy jeweler that offers a wide range of moissanite jewelry options, including rings, pendants, chains, earrings, and more. Their jewelry is made with high-quality materials and is built to last. Harlembling’s prices are competitive and affordable, with many items available for under $100. They also offer excellent customer service, with a team of knowledgeable and friendly staff available to help with any questions or concerns.

SIGNS: New York Woman Stranded In Pakistan Demanding Thousands Sparks Social Media Storm

In a shocking international love saga, 33-year-old Onijah Andrew Robinson from the United States has found herself stranded in Pakistan after a whirlwind romance took an unexpected nosedive.

According to News 18, Robinson flew to Karachi in October 2024 with dreams of marrying her online beau, 19-year-old Nidal Ahmed Memon. But upon her arrival, those dreams were shattered when Memon’s family disapproved of the union.

Despite assistance from a non-governmental organization that offered her a return ticket to the U.S. and financial support, Robinson chose to stay in Pakistan. In a recent video message, she issued a plea, saying, “I would like you guys to book my ticket back to New York. Money is short right now, and I will appreciate it.”

Left with nowhere to go, Robinson reportedly went to Memon’s home in the Garden area, only to find it locked and abandoned. Determined to find answers, she staged a sit-in outside the residence, even taking shelter in the building’s parking area.

Her bold move captured the attention of locals and soon became a media sensation across both Pakistan and America as user speculated who she might actually be.

In a puzzling twist, Robinson also at one point requested PKR 100,000 from the government, claiming she wanted to travel to Dubai with her “husband” and asserting that she was had plans to fix the entire country.

The plot thickened when Robinson’s son, Jeremiah Robinson, who lives in the U.S., released a video alleging that his mother was struggling with mental health issues. He described her as mentally unwell and said her judgment had been impaired. She originally planned to come back after two weeks, her son Jeremiah revealed, but she never returned—even after they booked a flight for her. She still refused to come back.

Despite her son’s assertions, it now seems that Robinson has reconsidered her situation. She has reportedly agreed to return to the U.S. and has requested a ticket back to New York.

Sources Say Murder Inc. Co-Founder Irv Gotti “Declared Dead” At 54

(UPDATE) Sources tell AllHipHop Irv Gotti, the legendary Hip-Hop producer and Murder Inc. co-founder, was “declared dead” Wednesday morning (February 5) at the age of 54. “Declared dead” could mean a couple of different things. Legally, it means a person has been recognized as no longer alive.

The most common way to declare death is a “circulatory death,” which occurs when a person’s heart stops beating and they stop breathing permanently. It can happen after a heart attack or if CPR or breathing machines are unsuccessful. “Brain death,” on the other hand, occurs when a person has sustained a catastrophic brain injury that permanently stops all brain function, which can happen after a massive stroke or traumatic brain injury. A person may be brain dead even if their heart is still beating with the help of a ventilator.

The news comes days after he suffered another stroke, causing a brain bleed. The circumstances surrounding his condition have yet to be revealed, but Gotti has a history of health ailments.

Reps for the music mogul have remained silent, leaving fans and industry insiders speculating as they rally behind him. In early 2024, Gotti disclosed the toll the disease had taken on his life. “Diabetes is deteriorating my body,” he admitted in a candid interview, adding that he had struggled to adhere to a healthy lifestyle and manage his insulin intake consistently.

Photographs surfaced of him walking with a cane and appearing visibly slimmer. The stroke served as a wake-up call, and since then, Gotti had reportedly made significant life changes, including adopting a more health-conscious diet.

Despite the adjustments, Gotti, famed for hits with artists like Ashanti and Ja Rule, had been vocal about the challenges of living with diabetes. He spoke openly about the battle in interviews, often using his platform to shed light on the difficulties of managing the condition while maintaining a hectic lifestyle in the music industry.

Pop Smoke Murder Case: Sole Adult Defendant Accepts Plea Deal To Sit In Prison For Decades

The nearly five-year prosecution of the suspects involved in the 2020 murder of the late Pop Smoke has come to a close.

According to a report from Rolling Stone on Wednesday (February 5), Corey Walker, the only adult defendant in the case, accepting a plea deal. Walker, who was accused of leading three juveniles in the deadly home invasion robbery, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and home invasion robbery with gun and gang enhancements.

He’s due to be sentenced on February 21, when it will likely be ruled that Walker serve 29 years in prison. Prosecutors dropped a murder charge as part of the deal. The newly added manslaughter charge included aggravating factors, such as the crime being carried out with planning and “a high degree of cruelty, viciousness, and callousness.” Walker also pleaded guilty to robbing a woman at the home. His pleas averted a jury trial that was set to begin this week in Los Angeles.

Walker admitted to providing a 9mm firearm to one of the juveniles and acknowledged that the group sold Pop Smoke’s diamond-studded Rolex for only $2,000. The Brooklyn-born rapper, whose real name was Bashar Barakah Jackson, was fatally shot during the robbery at an Airbnb rental in the Hollywood Hills in February 2020. The group targeted the property after Pop Smoke posted photos on social media revealing its address and showcasing luxury items.

Prosecutors described Walker as the ringleader who surveilled the crime scene, served as the getaway driver and provided weapons. Walker’s previous defense lawyer, Christopher Darden, argued that Walker did not personally enter the house or share the shooter’s intent to kill. Darden claimed Walker even told the group to use a flower vase for self-defense instead of a gun if necessary.

The case involved three juvenile defendants, including the 15-year-old who admitted to being the triggerman. In May 2023, he was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison. However, under California law, the maximum age for juvenile detention is 25 years old. The other two juvenile defendants also settled their cases, with one being sent to a post-conviction juvenile facility.

Adding to the controversy, one of the juvenile defendants, known as Blockstar, who has since been released, gave a shocking interview in 2024 where he expressed no remorse for his role in Pop Smoke’s death.

“I’m not sorry about nothing,” Blockstar stated. “It should’ve never happened, but I ain’t sorry. N##### die every day. [Pop Smoke] was rapping about it.”

He continued, “I send my condolences to the family. I wish it never happened. But I don’t regret nothing.” Blockstar insisted that the murder wasn’t a setup and that the group didn’t intend to harm anyone, stating, “We was just kids being kids—being kids from the hood. Too much movement going on. It wasn’t intentional.”

Russell Simmons Warned Irv Gotti About His Health Before Latest Stroke

Russell Simmons has shared a telling anecdote about Irv Gotti amid the former Murder Inc. mogul’s current health crisis.

On Wednesday (February 5), Simmons shared an Instagram post with a graphic announcing Gotti is allegedly on life support and that his friends and family members are saying their last goodbyes. In his post, Simmons recounted a recent conversation with Gotti in which they discussed a new project Gotti was pursuing. As always, Gotti was described as being filled with energy and optimism.

“I spoke to My good friend Irv [Gotti] very recently He was, as always ,incredibly energetic amd optimistic … we talked about his new idea ..” Simmons wrote in part.

Simmons claims he expressed concern about Gotti’s health, which moved him to make him a special, life-saving offer.

“He agreed that it needed his attention,” he recalled. “He promised me that he would come to Gdas and undergo tests and begin natural and medical treatments. I promised him that if he came, I would guarantee that he add 20 years to his life. He never got to come.”

Simmons emphasized the urgency of addressing health issues among Black men and the detrimental effects of American dietary and lifestyle habits.

“This is all so disturbing,” he continued. “So many of my friends are at risk. American food, lack of exercise, and the toxic frantic environment is killing my friends one after another. Today I’m praying for Irv and all Black men my age and under. They are poisoning you. Please pay attention.”

A number of both Simmons and Gotti’s Hip-Hop peers showed love in the comments section of the post.

“I didn’t wanna believe it until I just saw this here.” DJ Quik wrote in a comment on the post. “CEO @unclerush , im at that age too! I’m not vulnerable, but don’t think I don’t understand my mortality. This news is inconvenient.”

However, while Simmons and DJ Quik were attempting to uplift Gotti with their reactions on social media, his foes such as 50 Cent resorted to taking cheap shots at the incapacitated music executive.

“Damn I wanted him to see my new shows yo!” Fifty wrote in a caption of a post he shared with the same graphic Simmons posted.

The heartfelt post came amid reports that Gotti had suffered a significant health crisis. According to sources who spoke with AllHipHop, the 54-year-old music mogul recently experienced another stroke, which caused a brain bleed. The source indicated that Gotti is currently “not responsive.”

The news follows a previous stroke Gotti suffered just over a year ago, which was reportedly linked to his long-standing battle with diabetes. At the time, Gotti spoke candidly about the toll the disease had taken on his life.

“Diabetes is deteriorating my body,” he admitted in an early 2024 interview, acknowledging his struggle to maintain a healthy lifestyle and consistently manage his insulin intake. Photographs from that period showed Gotti walking with a cane and appearing visibly slimmer. The stroke had served as a wake-up call, prompting him to adopt a more health-conscious diet and make significant lifestyle changes.

Jimmy Kimmel Thinks Will Smith Could Have Redeem Himself by Slapping Kanye West

Jimmy Kimmel wasted no time taking aim at Kanye West’s Grammys red carpet moment, joking that “all would be forgiven” if Will Smith had slapped the rapper instead of Chris Rock.

During an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, the late-night host dove into the weekend’s headlines, zeroing in on West and Bianca Censori’s eye-catching arrival at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

As photographers snapped away, Censori ditched her long fur coat, revealing a nearly transparent minidress—and no underwear.

The couple was supposedly asked to leave the event, but not before grabbing the internet’s attention.

Kimmel found parallels between the moment and Smith’s infamous 2022 Oscars slap, suggesting the actor could have redeemed himself if he had targeted Kanye West instead.

“You know what’s a shame?” Kimmel mused. “If Will Smith—all he had to do was run out on that red carpet and slap Kanye, I think all would be forgiven. He would be hosting the Oscars next year.”

Will Smith’s appearance at this year’s Grammys marked his first major awards show since the night he stormed the Academy Awards stage and struck Rock over a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith.

The incident led to a decade-long ban from the Oscars and a firestorm of public debate.

But Kimmel didn’t stop at Smith’s theoretical redemption arc. He went on to skewer Kanye West’s unexpected return to the spotlight, offering a particularly colorful take on his presence at the ceremony.

“Another rodent came out of his hole to hit the red carpet at the Grammys last night—none other than Kanye West,” Kimmel quipped. “He showed up for the red carpet only with his wife, who caused quite a stir. She was wearing… nothing.”

Jimmy Kimmel likened it to the infamous wardrobe malfunction at the 2004 Super Bowl, when Justin Timberlake accidentally exposed Janet Jackson’s breast during their halftime performance.

“Remember when the whole country melted down when one of Janet Jackson’s boobs popped out for a millisecond?” he said. “Now a completely nude woman walks the red carpet at the Grammys, they’re yelling, ‘Bianca, over here on the right! Please!'”

Kanye West’s Epic Rant Was Push The Game Needed To Complete “The Documentary 3”

The Game is crediting Kanye West with giving him the motivation he needs to complete his highly anticipated album, The Documentary 3

The Los Angeles native revealed last year that he would release the project on January 18, 2025, marking exactly 20 years since his debut. However, The Game announced he postponed the release due to the wildfires blazing through L.A. at the time.

The Game Was Feeling Kanye West’s “Vibe”

The Game broke his silence on the project with an Instagram post on Tuesday (February 4), revealing that a clip of Kanye West’s impassioned rant in a recent interview inspired him to complete the album finally.

He shared footage from Ye’s “The Download” interview, featuring a clip of the controversial artist asserting his dominance over the music industry.

“Y’all can play around…don’t step over the line though. Everybody, anybody, it’s up for everybody!” West says in the video. “I got bigger fish to fry, I got people to save. I ain’t even on no rap s###, I already beat the rap s###.”

West goes on to declare that he has no competition in the industry, even stating that figures like Universal Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge can’t match his influence.

“Y’all ain’t got s### on me,” he stated, adding, “Y’all ran my name through the mud. Y’all took all that position, you gave the other n##### my position.”

West continued, “Any summer, every summer, there’s no king. I’m the king ‘cuz I’m the only one against y’all. I’m the only one that’s going to go against y’all. That’s why Yeezy over everything.”

The Game took inspiration from Kanye West’s tirade, sharing his reflection in the caption, writing, “If you think for ya self they call you crazy. If you speak on the mistreatment of the lower tier life livers from the higher ups they try to silence you. If you go against the mass agenda they try & black ball you. And if you tell the truth in a world full of lies.. you’re the liar.”

He added, “Ye just gave me the vibe I needed to complete #TheDocumentary3 – Game Time.”

The Game provided no additional details about the album. Nonetheless he had previously stated, “I’m gonna go in hard” on The Documentary 3

USHER Reveals Why He Walked Away From “Dreamgirls” & Skipped Grammys

Usher had the opportunity to star in Dreamgirls, but a packed schedule forced him to walk away from the role.

During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show , the “U Got It Bad” singer surprised host Jennifer Hudson with the revelation that he was once cast in the 2006 hit musical drama.

However, touring commitments ultimately prevented him from stepping into the role.

“You didn’t know that I was supposed to be a part of that movie, this movie you went on to win a major, major award for,” Usher said, referencing Hudson’s Academy Award-winning performance as Effie White.

Hudson, visibly stunned, responded, “Are you talking about Dreamgirls? Wait, you were going to be in Dreamgirls?”

Usher simply confirmed, “Yes,” as Hudson processed the revelation. “I didn’t even know this, y’all,” she added in disbelief.

Although Usher didn’t specify the character he was slated to play, reports at the time indicated he was cast as C.C. White, Effie’s brother, a role that ultimately went to Keith Robinson.

“I was so excited for what was getting ready to happen. (I) tried my hardest to kind of work around it, but, unfortunately, schedule just didn’t permit,” Usher explained. “I would have been a part of the history with you. But I am a part of the history with you because we all celebrate you for such an encouraging talent for our young women out here.”

Always quick on her feet, Hudson then proposed making up for the lost opportunity with a musical collaboration.

“I would love that,” Usher grinned.

Directed by Bill Condon, Dreamgirls featured an all-star cast, including Jamie Foxx, Beyoncé, and Eddie Murphy. Later in the conversation, Usher also addressed his absence from the 2025 Grammy Awards despite being nominated for Best R&B Album for Coming Home.

The “Yeah!” hitmaker made a conscious decision to skip the event, explaining that he wanted to show respect for those affected by the devastating California wildfires.

“This is no disrespect to the (Recording) Academy or anything like that, but I didn’t want it to come across as disrespectful in any way. I wanted to make something that honored them because we’re hurting for them,” he said. “I know people that have lost everything. And I know tons of people out there that I’ve never met that have lost everything and I want to help those people.”
