Jvn Releases Highly Anticipated EP In Due Time, Reviving Traditional Hip-Hop

Emerging hip-hop artist Jvn (@aapjvn), born Javion, is making waves with the release of his latest EP, In Due Time, available now on all streaming platforms. The EP marks a pivotal chapter in Jvn’s career, as he seeks to bring traditional hip-hop back to the forefront while solidifying his place in the rap game.

In Due Time showcases Jvn’s lyrical prowess and deep connection to the foundations of hip-hop. The project draws inspiration from his personal experiences and current creative mindset. “I feel like the music I was making and the space I’m in right now shaped the theme of this release,” Jvn explains. Confident in his ability, he adds, “I can rap my a** off, and I’m going for it when it comes to putting myself in the same space as the greats now and before me.”

The EP stays true to traditional hip-hop, a genre Jvn wholeheartedly embraces. With hard-hitting bars and a raw delivery, Jvn aims to capture the essence of the legends who came before him while keeping his sound fresh for today’s audience. One standout track, “B2B,” serves as the perfect introduction for new listeners, reflecting Jvn’s dedication to both lyrical depth and authentic storytelling.

Jvn’s music is influenced by some of the most iconic names in hip-hop, including Meek Mill, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, T.I., Nas, and Drake. Their impact is evident in his lyrical approach, as he combines timeless elements of hip-hop with modern flair, offering a balanced blend of classic and contemporary.

In addition to the release of In Due Time, Jvn is celebrating a major career milestone—performing as the only local artist selected for a sold-out arena show with Lil Uzi Vert and G Herbo at the Toyota Pavilion Center. This accomplishment highlights Jvn’s growing presence in the industry and serves as a stepping stone toward larger opportunities. With more new music on the way, Jvn hopes to join a major artist on tour, continuing to expand his reach and share his music with a wider audience.

As Jvn continues to hone his craft and build his name, In Due Time stands as a testament to his talent and determination to bring traditional hip-hop back into the spotlight. Follow Jvn on Instagram and Twitter to stay up to date on his journey and future releases.

Blueprint’s “Word Is Blog” Book Celebrates Eyedea Amid 14th Anniversary Of His Death

Blueprint has written a new book called Word is Blog: Volume One, 2010-2011, a collection of his blog posts that includes musings on his friendship with the late Rhymesayers MC Eyedea.

The beloved wordsmith died in 2010 at the age of 28 after suffering a drug overdose. According to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office, he succumbed to respiratory depression caused by opiate derivatives, although the specific drug was never disclosed to the public.

Eyedea’s death hit the underground Hip-Hop community hard and even 14 years later, his absence can still be felt. On Wednesday (October 16), the anniversary of Eyedea’s passing, social media blew up with tributes. Rhymesayers co-founder Sean “Slug” Daley wrote simply, “miss u mikey,” while his longtime collaborator and friend DJ Abilities wrote, “R.EYE.P.”

Blueprint dedicates a portion of Word is Blog to remembering Eyedea. He shared a snippet of it in a recent Instagram post. It read: “During this time, we would see each other in other Midwest cities and always kick it. That’s when Eyedea and I realized we had the same kind of trouble-making instinct. It wasn’t trouble-making in terms of being destructive or disrespecting people, or even drinking or doing drugs, because neither of us did any of that at the time. Our thing was battling. We loved to find whoever thought they were the best and serve those fools. No matter what city we were in, before or after we played, we were probably in the biggest freestyle cipher we could find, letting cats know what it was.

“Later that year we were all at the Rocksteady anniversary in New York. Greenhouse & Illogic were in town doing some recording with our friends The Atoms Family. I didn’t even know Eyedea was there at first (this was before having a cell phone was normal), but once I saw him at the jam we were out!”

Blueprint dives into plenty of other topics, including his own journey to sobriety.

“The inspiration behind this book was to start cataloging all the writings that I had been doing on my blog for the people who may not have seen them when they were initially published,” he tells AllHipHop. “This was particularly important to me due to some of the topics I was writing about at the time like getting sober, Eyedea’s passing and suicide. The book also has some chapters where the writing is more humorous and light-hearted so that it’s a very balanced read overall.”

Copies are currently available on Blueprint’s Weightless Recordings website. His next album, Chamber Music II, arrives on November 5.

EXCLUSIVE: Damon Dash Roc-A-Fella Auction Finally Set

It is official: Damon Dash’s one-third stake in Roc-A-Fella Records will hit the auction block on November 14, 2024, following a decision by the United States Marshal to set the authorized date.

Dash, the co-founder of the pioneering independent Hip-Hop label, is selling his shares as part of an ongoing legal dispute centered around child support, back taxes, and other financial obligations.

According to legal documents, the minimum bid for Dash’s stake has been set at $3.2 million.

Proceeds from the auction will be allocated to numerous creditors, including $193,000 earmarked for child support and over $1.7 million for unpaid state taxes.

Additional payments will go to civil litigants, including film executive Josh Webber, who is expected to receive $823,000.

Photographer Monique Bunn has a $12,000 claim, and further payments will be directed to cover Dash’s outstanding state tax liabilities, which exceed $7 million overall.

The auction comes amid persistent tensions with JAY-Z, one of Dash’s former business partners.

The pair have been embroiled in a separate dispute over control of the 1996 album Reasonable Doubt – Roc-A-Fella’s most valuable – and only asset.

A post shared by Dame Dash (@duskopoppington)

In the lead-up to the sale, Damon Dash accused JAY-Z of undermining potential bids by asserting that, beginning in six years, rights to Reasonable Doubt would revert solely to JAY-Z, which could ultimately decrease the value of Roc-A-Fella.

Despite the disputes, the auction was cleared to proceed after U.S. District Court Judge Robert Lehrburger declined to intervene in the arguments regarding the future of the Reasonable Doubt copyright.

Dash, who helped establish Roc-A-Fella in the mid-90s alongside JAY-Z and Kareem “Biggs” Burke, reportedly hopes to secure at least $10 million from the sale of his portion of the once-celebrated Hip-Hop empire.

Young Thug Attempts To Squash Feud Between Drake, Future & Metro Boomin From Jail

Young Thug is attempting to squash the alleged rap beef between his close collaborators Drake, Future and Metro Boomin.

In a tweet the Atlanta rap superstar shared on Friday (October 18), Thug directly calls out the pair of rappers and their shared superproducer counterpart in an apparent attempt to extend an olive branch between them. Thug’s message arrives as tensions between Drake and the rapper-producer duo Future and Metro Boomin have risen over the course of the last few months following an assortment of sneak disses and direct jabs sent from both parties.

While the beef reportedly stems from rifts that were exacerbated by creative and competitive rivalries that have simmered over the years, the feuds reached a fever-pitch this summer after Metro Boomin released the “BBL Drizzy” instrumental diss track following Drake’s reference of him on his Kendrick Lamar rap battle diss track “Family Matters” during which he told the St. Louis producer to “Shut your hoe a## up and make some drums n###a.”

Thug, who’s currently locked away in Cobb County Corrections fighting his ongoing YSL RICO case against the state of Georgia, has apparently seen enough and decided to call on his peers directly to move-on past their disagreements and come together.

“@Drake @1future @MetroBoomin we all bruddas. Music aint the same without us collabin,” Young Thug wrote in the tweet.

The issues between the trio of stars became more public upon the release of the song “Like That,” featuring Kendrick Lamar, which many believe was a subliminal diss aimed at Drake and J. Cole. Produced by Metro Boomin, the track highlighted Kendrick’s sharp lyricism and took aim at rappers who don’t write their own material—an accusation often leveled at Drake.

The song’s success further strained the relationship, as Future and Metro’s pair of collaborative albums which featured the track with Kendrick appeared to align them against Drake in his battle with his West Coast-bred rival. Drake also commented on the beef, saying he and “Pluto never really been through s##t” which further complicated their previous dynamic, given Future’s history of collaborative albums and chart-topping hits with Drake.

Coincidentally, Thug’s plea to his collaborators follows Drake’s recent social media post in which he implied he put money up for Thug’s legal case while also calling for his release from jail.

In addition to Future’s repost, check out some of the reactions to Thug’s tweet below.

Donald Trump Snags Another Rapper: Trick Trick Goes MAGA

Former President Donald Trump continues to lean into the hip Hop community in hopes of reclaiming the White House.

Last night in Detroit, Donald Trump surprised the crowd by bringing out Detroit rapper Trick Trick.

Known for his strong local following and community activism in the city, Trick Trick joined Trump on stage to a roar of applause.

[A] man they love in Detroit is a rapper, and he’s one of the hottest in the world, actually—Trick Trick,” Donald Trump said before the rapper was officially welcomed on stage.

Trick Trick greeted the crowd with energy, although he declined Trump’s request for him to rap.

“If y’all know about Trick Trick, y’all know I’m about bringing it all to Detroit,” he said. “So please welcome the 47th President of the United States as we make Detroit great again.”

The crowd cheered as Trump returned the microphone, expressing his gratitude for the warm reception.

“You have some great people here,” Trump said.

“This is a great place. We’re going to really make it great again, just like the country. We did it once, and we have to do it again.”

The rally continued with Trump reiterating his focus on the upcoming election, emphasizing the importance of Detroit in his vision for America’s future.

Once again, hip-hop culture has taken Center stage as both presidential candidates spar to win the election.

Rappers like Sexyy Red, OT7 Quanny, Ye, Kodak Black, Sheff G, Lil Pump, Nicky Jam, Sada Baby and Azealia Banks have decided to back President Donald Trump.

Last week, Vice President Kamala Harris tapped hip hop radio host Charlamagne tha God to host an influential Q&A session that many felt helped her regain her footing within the black community.

Artists like Cardi B, Lil Jon, Quavo, Jermaine Dupri, Lil Nas X, Megan Thee Stallion and Lizzo have endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.

As expected, Trick Trick received support and criticism for backing President Donald Trump.

Joe Cooley Responds To Barry White Lawsuit Over Sample Used In Future’s “Like That”

Rodney-O & Joe Cooley released the song “Everlasting Bass” in 1988, which interpolates a sample of Barry White’s 1973 single “I’m Gonna Love You Just a Little More Babe.” The snippet flew under the radar for decades until Future and Metro Boomin’ sampled “Everlasting Bass” for their No. 1 single “Like That” featuring Kendrick Lamar.

In early October, The Barry White Family Trust, represented by Barry’s widow Glodean B. White and Jack W. Perry, fired off a lawsuit alleging “Like That” unlawfully lifts the bassline from White’s original composition. Future, Metro Boomin and Kendrick Lamar weren’t named as defendants in the lawsuit. They are believed to be indemnified by Rodney-O and Joe Cooley, thus shielding them from immediate legal action. The plaintiffs have left the door open for future claims should the indemnification prove insufficient.

In a since-deleted Facebook post, Joe Cooley responded to the lawsuit, writing, “God is telling me to Man up leave Rodney-O alone and just stay away, he’s only adding more damages by falsely illegally using my name and production I got paperwork to prove it.” He also suggested he’d produce the receipts if or when it’s necessary to do so.

Rodney-O & Joe Cooley were signed to Egyptian Lover’s label, Egyptian Empire, at the time of the song’s release. AllHipHop reached out to Egyptian Lover, who confirmed Rodney-O owned the masters and publishing.

The lawsuit is presumably a devastating blow to Rodney-O and Joe Cooley. Rodney-O, who performed with DJ Quik at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado in April, was clearly elated by the success of “Like That” and the renewed interest in “Everlasting Bass.”

DJ Quik and crew played the We Don’t Trust You track for the sold-out crowd. Speaking to AllHipHop outside of DJ Quik’s dressing room, Rodney-O briefly spoke about the sample of “Everlasting Bass” being used for what was briefly the biggest song in the country.

“It’s amazing,” he said. “For something I made when I was 16, 17 years old to come back and be bigger than it was, ‘Hey, I’m all in!’ Keep it moving. Y’all keep listening!”

Snoop Dogg’s Daughter Lands Reality TV Show Alongside Her Parents

Snoop Dogg and his family are giving the world an inside look at the next chapter of their lives via the new reality TV series focusing on the West Coast hitmaker’s daughter Cori “Princess” Broadus.

In a video Broadus shared in an Instagram post on Thursday (October 17), Snoop spoke about the series during his recent interview with NBC News. The show delves into Cori’s experiences as a young woman navigating love, relationships, and adulthood with the guidance of her supportive parents, Snoop and his wife, Shante Broadus. Reflecting on the show’s concept, Snoop Dogg explained that now that Cori is of age, it felt natural to create a series showcasing her journey.

“We wanted to put a show together based off of her and the things that she’s going through and how she’s handling it,” Snoop Dogg said in the clip.

He added that viewers will see how Broadus faces challenges independently, despite the assumption that having successful parents means life’s problems are easily solved.

“Such a beautiful show because you see a young woman go through things in life with the support of her father and her mother, but she has to go through ’em on her own,” Snoop said. “And people think sometimes because you’re successful, that magically you can make problems disappear. You can just pay for things to go away, but you get a chance to see that life is life and life be life in.”

A post shared by CHOC🍫 (@princessbroadus)

In the caption of the post Cori Broadus shared, she confirmed how spot-on her dad’s description of the show was while also reflecting on the timing of its release, considering the recent events that occurred in her life.

“I can’t believe I have my own tv show,” Cori Broadus exclaimed. “My dad hit it on the nose when he said life be lifeing! Honestly can’t wait for you guys to see the crazy year I had.. tune into Snoop Dogg’s Fatherhood: Cori & Wayne’s Story this winter on E!”

Earlier this year in January, Cori Broadus suffered a severe stroke, which caused her to be hospitalized. She was released within days of the health scare and has since been on the road to recovery. The new project offers a window into the Broadus family dynamic, especially the relationship between Snoop, Shante and Cori Broadus as she transitions into adulthood. Snoop Dogg, a father of four, has always been vocal about his love and support for his children, which include sons Corde and Cordell and another daughter Elleven.

Cardi B Addresses Tyra Banks’ “ANTM” Criticism After Victoria’s Secret Return

Cardi B is speaking out in defense of Tyra Banks after watching the former supermodel strut her stuff earlier this week.

After a six-year hiatus, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show returned earlier this week, making a comeback at a star-studded event on Thursday, October 15 in New York City.

Tya Banks also marked her return to the runway, closing out her ninth Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and her first catwalk in almost 20 years.

Cardi B was in attendance, showing off her curves in a stunning baby pink bandage dress.

However, it appears the fashion show got Cardi B thinking about the backlash Tyra Banks received for her treatment of the contestants on America’s Next Top Model.

She hopped on Instagram Live earlier this week to defend the model, claiming she was preparing them for the harsh realities of modeling in the real world.

She pointed out how competitive the industry is and that most hopefuls won’t make it. Referencing the tasks Tyra Banks set for the contestants, Cardi B continued.

“In real shows they make you do s### like that,” she explained. You gotta f###### walk around with a shoe that’s bigger than yours, so you gotta be gripping your f###### toes like this. Or then you gotta probably wear a shoe that’s smaller than your foot.”

Cardi revealed she had to walk in ill-fitting shoes down the runway on two occasions, including the Balenciaga fashion show last December.

“Challenges that Tyra Banks used to give these b###### is the s### that happens in the real f###### world,” she added. “The thing about it is that y’all complain about it because the internet has made y’all soft.”

Tyra Banks Responds To Backlash

Tyra Banks addressed the criticism in 2000 in response to a viral clip of her and fellow America’s Next Top Model judges pressuring contestant Danielle Evans to get dental surgery to close the gap in her front teeth.

“Been seeing the posts about the insensitivity of some past ANTM moments and I agree with you,” she admitted. “Looking back, those were some really off choices. Appreciate your honest feedback and am sending so much love and virtual hugs.”

In a later interview, she added, “Instead of me saying, ‘You must change this,’ on TV, I think what I should have said is, ‘You’re beautiful.’”

Snoop Dogg & Popeyes Co-Sign Tyrese’s Traffic Jam Rant About Chicken & R&B

Snoop Dogg may have just helped countless R&B artists uncover the secret to unlocking the type of longevity artists like Tyrese have tapped into.

In case you missed it, the 1992 actor was caught on video in traffic meticulously devouring the gristle off of a drumstick fried to perfection with Popeyes Louisiana bread recipe. Behind the tinted windows of the black truck SUV he was being chauffeured in, Tyrese opted to both promote his upcoming concert and provide singers with his keys to success.

”The real secret to R&B is this muthaf##king Popeyes, you know I’m talking about,” Tyree said in the video as a morsel of the crispy chicken dropped from his lips onto the window of the luxury SUV.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by snoopdogg (@snoopdogg)

Snoop Dogg quickly caught wind of the video AllHipHop shared and reposted it to his profile. He wrote in the caption “gots 2 do it” and tagged Tyrese.

Not long after Snoop re-shared the video, Popeyes also stumbled upon the video and appeared to double down on Tyrese’s chicken laced epiphany.

“Popeyes gonna make you hit a high note or 2,” the Louisiana fast-food chicken chain commented on the post.

While it does seem to be all fun games between snoop Tyrese and Popeyes, the chicken chain may want to move fast if it has any interest in striking up a deal with the West Coast-bred multi-hyphenate, considering they aren’t the only chicken-based restaurant he appears to be promoting.

In another video Tyree shared to his profile recently, he shares a clip of himself interrupting a newsroom meeting with a bag of Chick-fil-A in his hand following a promotional interview he did with Cory Walker, the brother of deceased Fast & Furious franchise star Paul Walker. Not to mention, artists such as Chance The Rapper have teamed up with fast food staples such as chicken fingers masters Raising Canes, who recently provided the Chicago rapper’s Social Works youth organization with a $100,000 donation.

In essence, the gap between Hip-Hop, R&B and fried chicken has never been closer to being bridged than now—so get a move-on Popeyes.

Gucci Mane Reveals Plans For Foogiano, Pooh Shiesty & 1017 Roster

Gucci Mane has announced he is making a calculated investment in incarcerated rappers, Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano.

In an Instagram post the Atlanta rap veteran shared on Friday (October 18), the “Lemonade” lyricist revealed his plans to drop his entire 1017 artist roster. The only artists to remain signed to his 1017 imprint are none other than Foogiano and Pooh Shiesty.

Gucci Mane explained that a look at his most recent profit and loss statement for the label influenced his decision to be unselfish and allow all of his artists to take their talents elsewhere. The announcement of the roster purge comes just one day after the label’s honorary street holiday 1017 day.

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

Though Gucci Mane didn’t go into the specifics of each of the artists to be dropped from the label, it didn’t take long for social media, trolls and sleuth to pick out a number of rappers associated with The New 1017 movement. Mississippi rapper BigWalkDog, who signed with 1017 in 2021 almost instantaneously became a target for negative comments and sly remarks following Gucci’s announcement.

“Your label just dropped you [crying laughing emoji],” an Instagram user commented in a post BigWalkDog shared two weeks ago teasing an unreleased snippet.

“Damn bro, I know you hurt @laflare1017 dropped you!” another user wrote, before suggesting he sign with another artist, “Go sign with Finesse [Finesse2Tymes] or sum.”

Overall, it has been a tumultuous few years for Gucci’s 1017 label. Foogiano was sentenced to five years in prison in 2021 after he melted off an ankle monitor and ran from police custody for months over a gun charge stemming from his December 2020 arrest. In April 2022, Pooh Shiesty was also sentenced to five years in federal prison after he pled guilty to conspiring to possess firearms in furtherance of crimes of violence and drug trafficking.

That same June, the popular 1017 rapper and close collaborator with Big 30 and Shiesty, Big Scarr, tragically passed away. In January, Gucci’s up-and-coming artist Enchanting also passed away unexpectedly.

Swizz Beatz called Chromakopia a “classic” ahead of its release. Fellow producer Digital Nas was less enthusiastic.

“Omg here we go again the same album made all over again with these gay ass Tyler the Creator chords and weak ass Pharrell drums,” Digital Nas wrote.

Tyler mockingly responded to the criticism in a private message. Digital Nas shared a screenshot of Tyler’s reply.

“I never cheated on nobody, so I don’t know what y’all talking ‘bout,” she said on Instagram Live.

Last year, Remy Ma was accused of having an affair with Eazy the Block Captain. Tay Roc referenced the allegations on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Thursday (October 17).

Prosecutors Scoff At Diddy’s “Emergency” Pleas From Jail

Federal prosecutors asked a judge to approve an October 30 deadline to respond to two motions filed by Diddy’s lawyers in his sex trafficking case. According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, the prosecution argued it didn’t need to urgently reply to Diddy’s request for details omitted from the indictment against him.

“The parties conferred regarding the Government’s proposed deadline,” prosecutors wrote. “The Government understands the defense’s position is that the motion is ‘unusual and an emergency’ and the Government should be required to respond by Monday, October 21, 2024—less than one week from when the motion was filed … The Government is currently scheduled to respond to a different defense motion—the motion relating to purported grand jury leaks—by [October 30] and consolidating the Government’s oppositions to these two motions would promote ‘simplicity in procedure and fairness in administration.’”

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, filed his motion for a bill of particulars under Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure Rule 7(f) on Tuesday (October 15). Prosecutors noted the default deadline for a response was October 29.

“The Rule 7(f) Motion does not require a quicker response,” they contended. “In fact, as the Government will more fully address in its opposition, the motion cannot meaningfully be evaluated at this stage, prior to the completion of discovery, and the Government should be permitted to respond to any remaining disputes following the close of discovery … Accordingly, the Government respectfully requests that the Court permit the Government to oppose the Rule 7(f) Motion by October 30, 2024, when its opposition to the defendant’s prior motion is due.”

Diddy remains in jail following his arrest on racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution charges. An appeals court will hear arguments in his bid for bail on November 4. His trial is scheduled to begin in May 2025.

Lil Reese Facing Years In Prison For Aggravated Assault

Lil Reese landed in a Texas jail for the second time in a matter of weeks on Wednesday (October 16). The Chicago-bred rapper was booked for aggravated assault of a family member, per Harris County online records.

The drill artist’s bond was set at $50,000. He faces multiple years in prison if convicted.

Lil Reese, whose real name is Tavares Taylor, was accused of punching and strangling his ex-girlfriend. He was arrested for aggravated assault, assault of a family or household member with a previous conviction, assault by impeding breath against a family member and violating his bond/protective order in September.

Authorities previously apprehended Lil Reese two weeks after a warrant was issued for his arrest. His ex-girlfriend told police he attacked her at the Pinkhouse nightclub in Houston.

Lil Reese allegedly attacked his ex when she rejected his attempts to kiss her on her way out of the club. The incident happened roughly a month after they broke up.

The domestic violence case emerged a few months after Lil Reese was accused of rape. He was arrested for suspicion of sexual assault and rape in Los Angeles in July. He denied the allegations. The case was dropped in August.

Finesse2Tymes Eyes Collab With Moneybagg Yo But Admits Trust Is Gone

Finesse2Tymes is opening up about his relationship with Moneybagg Yo, revealing he would love to work with him again, but he believes the trust is gone.

The Memphis natives have had a turbulent history, with Moneybagg Yo signing Finesse2Tymes to his Bread Gang label years after a public feud.

Finesse2Tymes takes full responsibility for the breakdown of their working relationship and wants to collaborate with Moneybagg Yo again. He believes they would light up the City of Memphis with a joint project.

During a recent livestream conversation, the “Back End” hitmaker confirmed that although he’s not signed to Moneybagg, there’s no bad blood between them.

“We ain’t leave on bad terms or nothing,” he explained. “It just ran its course. Somewhere down the line, I just got the word that it was a rap.”

Nonetheless, Finesse2Tymes has regrets, admitting, “I wish we could have still been in business though.”

He continued referencing their joint single. “Look at our one song, ‘Black Visa,’” he added. “Just look at it. I don’t think bro know how much it would mean to the industry for us to do a tape together, a EP. I don’t think bro know that.”

However, Finesse2Tymes conceded that Moneybagg Yo is likely reluctant to work with him again because of their last falling out.

“I believe bro be more focused on me as a person, my mental, like,” he said. “And he traumatized also because we done already been through a situation too and he probably think I still would get on that type of time.”

Finesse2Tymes insisted Moneybagg would be the one person he would never treat badly. “No matter how frustrated I got with him, no matter how frustrated he got with me, I’d never do that again,” he shared.

Kendrick Lamar Names “Hardest” Rapper In The Game

Kendrick Lamar dominated the Hip-Hop conversation in 2024, but he’s crowning another MC the “hardest” in the game.

On Thursday (October 17), Lamar dedicated a rare social media post to show love to Doechii, the first female rapper signed to his former label, Top Dawg Entertainment.

He took to his Instagram Stories to share the artwork for Doechii’s latest project, the critically acclaimed mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal

“the hardest out,” he wrote before adding an alligator emoji.

Doechii graciously received Kendrick Lamar’s praise, resharing his post and returning the favor. “Thank you Dot,” she wrote. “You the greatest.”

In a follow-up post, she added, “Getting your flowers while you can still smell them >>>.”

Despite the Kendrick Lamar co-sign, Doechii believes there’s work to be done before she can hop on a track with the PgLang co-founder.

During an appearance on the “Joe Budden Podcast” last month, Budden asked Doechii if she “expected” Kendrick Lamar to appear on her recent mixtape.

Doechii admitted that she would love to collaborate with K. Dot in the future, but she’s not quite ready for the opportunity.

“I’ma say this,” she replied. “I don’t assume anything and I also don’t feel entitled to a Kendrick feature but I would absolutely love that. That’s the goal. I’m sure that like, for my debut project, eventually I’m gonna ask Top if he could ask Kendrick, or ask Kendrick myself and see what comes from that.”

However, Doechii added, “But I’ma be real. I don’t think I have the record right now for that opportunity. I think I would have to come a certain way and I don’t think I’m ready for it.”

Meanwhile, Doechii linked up with Genius to break down one of the standout tracks from her mixtape, “Denial Is A River.”

King Harris Breaks Silence Following Arrest In Georgia

King Harris is assuring his fans that he’s okay following his arrest earlier this week after almost crashing into a cop car.

The 19-year-old son of T.I. and Tiny Harris had an outstanding warrant in Pickens County over his 2022 traffic violation charges. Following his arrest, King Harris was sent to Dekalb County Jail but was released to Pickens County on Tuesday (October 16).

On Thursday (October 18), King Harris posted a video on Instagram letting his fans know he was released. Judging from his reaction, his notifications have been blowing up.

“I’m a free man. Stop g######, I’m not locked up,” he announced. “I was, but I’m back. I’m straight.”

He also seemingly addressed the viral reaction to his mugshot in another video. Social media users cracked jokes, comparing him to Ice Spice and even Sesame Street characters Bert and Ernie.

“Bro Looking like garlic knot,” one person shared on X (Twitter). “ATL Ice spice bout to learn some hard lessons, TI warned his ahh,” added another.

“When I be looking f##### up, it’s ‘cuz I’m allergic to my dogs,” he explained on Instagram. “Look how f##### up my allergies is, man. I’ve got dogs that’s hairy as f###, I got huskies. And I’m allergic. F###### myself up.”

King Harris was reportedly arrested in Dunwoody, Georgia, after nearly crashing his BMW into a police cruiser. The outstanding warrant was for failure to appear in court to face charges of speeding, driving a vehicle with a suspended license, and operating under the influence of drugs from an arrest in August 2022.

Meanwhile, King Harris is preparing to welcome his first child. The rapper is expecting a son with girlfriend J’Nijah “Nana” Epps.

Dame Dash Clarifies Why He Worked With R. Kelly Amid Claims He Assaulted Aaliyah

Dame Dash is “setting the records straight” about why he appeared in the music video for R. Kelly’s “Fiesta (Remix),” despite his former girlfriend Aaliyah telling him that the R&B singer assaulted her.

During a recent interview on his America Nu Network, the Roc-A-Fella co-founder explained why he appeared in the video “considering what the entire industry” knew about R. Kelly.

“I didn’t want any part of it, and I told them I don’t want a dollar from it,” he said, claiming Aaliyah was aware he was in the visuals but didn’t want to cause conflict.

“Her exact words to me were, ‘I don’t want to start any trouble. I just want to heal and get as far away from it as possible,’” he added. “She asked me not to be in any scenes with [R. Kelly] or take any pictures with him, and I respected that.”

He continued, “I did my shots with Jay, but I wasn’t in any scenes with R. Kelly,” he said. “You’ll never see me in a picture with him.”

“I’ve answered this before, but here it is again,” Dame captioned an Instagram clip of the interview. “When Jay chose to keep working with R. Kelly, I told Aaliyah. Her response was clear—she just wanted to heal, avoid any drama, and move forward in peace. So when it came to the Fiesta video, I made sure I wasn’t in any scenes or photos with R. Kelly. I stayed in the trailer unless my shots with Jay were being filmed. That’s the truth.”

The question stemmed from a previous conversation on America Nu, during which Dame claimed Hov’s decision to team up with R. Kelly on the collaborative album The Best of Both Worlds contributed to the breakdown of his relationship with JAY-Z.

Big Meech’s Freedom Comes With Five-Year Supervised Release After Sentence

Big Meech may have been released from prison to a halfway house, but it will be several years before he’s free from legal restrictions.

Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, founder of the notorious street organization and record label Black Mafia Family (BMF), was transferred to a halfway house where he will serve the remainder of his sentence, reportedly set to end on January 27, 2026.

However, once he completes his sentence, Big Meech will be subject to a five-year supervised release, TMZ reports. Among the conditions, Big Meech will have to participate in a substance abuse program. It’s uncertain whether he will be required to undergo drug and alcohol testing.

LiL Meech Reacts To Father’s Release

Big Meech’s son, Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr., who plays his father in 50 Cent’s STARZ series BMF, is yet to speak on the news. However, he shared a throwback photo of his father on his Instagram Story alongside a PSA about loyalty and betrayal.

“We don’t lose friends, We learn who our real ones are,” he wrote. “Real isn’t about what you have. It’s what you stand for. Some people become loners because they were betrayed by every person they ever trusted.”

Meanwhile, Rick Ross, who saluted the Black Mafia Family founder on his 2010 single, “B.M.F. (Blowin Money Fast),” welcomed him back with a shout-out on Instagram before performing the track at the club.

“The streets back. Meech home,” he said. “Meech welcome back.”

Lebron James also reacted to the news, tweeting “Welcome home Big Meech!!” but faced backlash from fans condemning him for celebrating the former kingpin.

Big Meech was sentenced to 30 years in prison for drug trafficking and money laundering in 2008 and spent nearly twenty years behind bars.

“He used his time in prison to focus on personal growth and transformation,” his attorney Brittany K. Barnett said in a statement. “Now he has the opportunity to begin a new chapter.”
