Fat Joe Claims He Hasn’t Recouped On 23-Year-Old Album Despite 2M Sales

Fat Joe doubled down on accusing major labels of running a Ponzi scheme, claiming he still owes money on a 23-year-old album that sold over two million copies.

The Terror Squad rapper recently took to Instagram Live to clarify his remarks about labels at the Wall Street Journal‘s The Future of Everything Festival last year.

“I said major record labels are a Ponzi scheme,” he began. “You realise it’s just like a bank.”

He continued, accusing record labels of plucking talented kids from the projects and giving them an album advance only to take the lion’s share of the profits.

“They make the profits off the records. They charge you whatever they spent on the video. It ain’t like we 50/50 partners, they pay half off the video we pay half of the video,” he added.

“So it’s robbery. All the way through. So that’s why I say it’s a Ponzi scheme,” Fat Joe said.

He went on to claim he sold 2 million copies of his sophomore solo album, J.O.S.E (Jealous Ones Still Envy), yet has not recouped over two decades later.

“When I get my statement from the major label 20 years later, I still owe them money,” Fat Joe stated. “I put out an album independently on Empire and get distribution, my album might sell 250 to 300,000 records, I make millions of dollars off of it. What’s the difference?”

Stevie J Defends Diddy, Slams 50 Cent: “This Is Another Crucifixion Of A Black Man”

Stevie J has broken his silence to defend Diddy after being caught up in the recent Homeland Security raids on the embattled Hip-Hop mogul’s home.

The former Bad Boy Records producer is speaking out in multiple interviews, condemning the force used in the raids. He also addressed 50 Cent, who he repeatedly called an “Uncle Tom,” accusing him of attempting to “bring down” the Black community for spreading lies about Diddy.

“Whatever someone does in their bedroom, that’s what they do,” he said during an interview with TMZ Tuesday (April 2). “I don’t got nothing to do with that, I’m just here to say that I’ve never seen my man doing anything foul like they talking about.”

He also assured Diddy is in good spirits despite the mounting legal issues, and is spending time with family.

Stevie J then moved on to 50 Cent, who he recently challenged to a fight. He brought up past allegations levied against the G-Unit founder before urging, “stop being a girl and talking about dudes.”

The veteran producer was at Diddy’s Star Island home in Miami when federal agents executed their search.

“I was sitting outside the studio door, and I heard a big boom,” he recalled. “I’ve witnessed some historical events of excessive force but none like this since Saddam Hussein or El Chapo or Pablo Escobar. Even Osama Bin Laden.”

Stevie J claimed feds aimed lasers at him and shouted at him to get on the ground.

“Three big armored vehicles come, dudes jump out. I got 50 dots on my shirt,” he added.

In another interview Tuesday, Stevie J repeated his defense of Diddy.

“My man would never break the law,” he told FOX 5 NY‘s Lisa Evers. “We’re law-abiding citizens. That’s what we do. You know this is another crucifixion of a black man.”

Kodak Black’s Shocking Response To Diddy Comparison: “Might Kill Me A Kid But I Ain’t Raping”

Kodak Black didn’t appreciate people comparing him to Diddy after debuting a new look, but his attempt to distance himself from the embattled Hip-Hop mogul’s alleged crimes horrified fans.

The controversial rapper recently linked up with Twitch streamer Adin Ross. The pair chatted with fans on Instagram Live when a commenter remarked on his mustache and goatee combo.

“Kodak look like Florida Diddy lmao,” the Pompano Beach native said, reading the chat. “B#### you got me f##### up. No Diddy. Take that Take it.”

Kodak Black then said he would never “rape” anybody, as Diddy is accused of, but ended up confessing he would commit other crimes.

“I’ll smack me a elderly b####, I even might kill me a kid but I aint raping,” he declared. “I mean kill him as a baby, but I ain’t raping. I ain’t doing that.”

Clips of the Instagram Live circulated online, with many fans shocked at Kodak Black’s remarks. Others shared concerns over possible substance abuse.

“Am I the only one who caught him saying might even ki.. me a kid!? I’m not tripping,” said one person. “Did he just say he would take a child life?” said another, while a third added, “This man sick.”

Kodak Black is currently battling his own legal issues. He recently spent two months behind bars for oxycodone possession and got into an altercation with a photographer upon release. He was also sued earlier this year for allegedly ripping off a transportation company.

50 Cent Trolls Ex Daphne Joy With Songs & More After Her Rape & Abuse Accusations

50 Cent continued joking about his ex Daphne Joy’s name getting dragged into Diddy’s legal drama. The G-Unit boss used Instagram, his go-to platform for trolling, to antagonize her on Tuesday (April 2).

Joy, the mother of 50 Cent’s son Sire, was identified as one of Diddy’s alleged sex workers in a lawsuit filed by producer Lil Rod. 50 Cent posted Gwen Guthrie’s track “Ain’t Nothin’ Goin’ On But The Rent” to mock Joy, whom he referred to as a “little sex worker.”

“It’s lunch time people here’s a little LSW theme music,” he wrote. “Let’s stay positive and productive today.”

50 Cent refused to ease up as he shared Barrett Strong’s song “Money (That’s What I Want).” He followed up the musical posts with an image featuring his “LSW” phrase.

Joy said she was “deeply hurt by the lies” in Lil Rod’s lawsuit against Diddy. She denied the sex worker allegations.

“The claim that I am a sex worker is 100% false and character assassination,” she wrote. “I am retaining an attorney to explore all legal remedies against both [Lil Rod] and his attorney.”

Joy also lashed out at 50 Cent, who sought sole custody of their son. She accused him of rape and physical abuse.

“Everything is a joke to you until our safety is compromised, which is happening now,” she wrote. “You are wreaking real havoc, frenzy and chaos onto people’s lives.”

She added, “I am tired of upholding and protecting an image to our son that you have never even earned. Let’s put the real focus on your true evil actions of raping me and physically abusing me. You are no longer my oppressor … You have broken our hearts for the last and final time.”

50 Cent denied the allegations.

“The disturbing allegations in the sworn pleadings recently filed in a court case related to Daphne Joy the mother of my 12-year-old child has required me to take all necessary legal actions to protect my son Sire,” he said. “The most recent false and baseless accusations by Daphne Joy are clearly in response to my decision to seek sole custody of my son. My son Sire is my main priority and keeping him in a safe environment is my only focus at this time.”

Joy has not been charged with any crime. Diddy is under federal investigation.

Diddy’s Son Justin Combs Hires El Chapo’s Attorney Over Homeland Security Raids

Misa Hylton, the mother of Diddy’s sons Christian and Justin Combs, condemned federal agents for using excessive force in their raid of her ex’s Los Angeles home. Hylton posted footage of the raid and claimed her sons were mistreated because their father is Black on Tuesday (April 2).

“The over zealous and overtly militarized force used against my sons Justin and Christian is deplorable,” she wrote on Instagram. “If these were the sons of a non-Black celebrity, they would not have been handled with the same aggression. The attempt to humiliate and terrorize these innocent young BLACK MEN is despicable!”

She continued, “Enough is Enough! Did Justin need several laser beams from firearms pointed at his chest?? Did Christian need a gun pointed at the back of his head while he was handcuffed?? How many times have we seen young UNARMED BLACK MEN not make it out of these types of situations alive??”

Hylton indicated her family’s desire to pursue legal action against the feds. Her son enlisted the services of Jeffrey Lichtman, the lawyer who represented drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.

“My son’s Attorney Jeffrey Lichtman is investigating the excessive use of force which was unnecessary and certainly not required by this search warrant,” she wrote. “We will fight for justice utilizing every imaginable resource. I’m not with the propaganda!!!!”

Homeland Security detained Christian and Justin Combs during raids of Diddy’s Los Angeles and Miami homes in March. The Hip-Hop mogul’s sons were released without any charges.

Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, is under federal investigation for allegations of sex trafficking. He has not been charged with any crimes.

Authorities from the Southern District of New York reportedly spearheaded the investigation. The feds raided Diddy’s homes after multiple women and a producer sued him for sexual assault, among other claims.

Cassie, one of Diddy’s exes, sued him for rape and abuse in November 2023. The two quickly settled out of court, but more women filed lawsuits against the Bad Boy Records founder. Producer Lil Rod added to Diddy’s legal troubles with another lawsuit in February.

Metro Boomin Bashes Drake Fans Attacking Him Over No. 1 Album & Song

Metro Boomin hit back at fans claiming the producer needed a Drake diss to reach No. 1 on the Billboard charts. Metro declared his We Don’t Trust You album with Future was destined for success in an Instagram comment.

“Album was going #1 regardless,” Metro wrote. “There was gonna be a #1 single regardless. Get off dick that man don’t even know y’all.”

Metro roasted Drake fans over their reaction to a repost of the producer celebrating We Don’t Trust You’s No. 1 debut. Metro noted how he and Future achieved the feat without releasing physical copies of the album.

“ALL PURELY OFF STREAMS,” he wrote. “NO PHYSICALS. NO BUNDLES. JUST GREAT MUSIC AND EMBRACE FROM YOU ALL!! THANK YOU!!!!”

Future and Metro released We Don’t Trust You in March. The album notably featured Kendrick Lamar dissing Drake on the song “Like That.”

“F### sneak dissing, first-person shooter, I hope they came with three switches/I crash out like, ‘F### rap,’ diss Melle Mel if I had to/Got 2TEEZ with me, I’m snatching chains and burning tattoos, it’s up/Lost too many soldiers not to play it safe/If he walk around with that stick, it ain’t André 3K/Think I won’t drop the location? I still got PTSD/M######### the big three, n####, it’s just big me,” Kendrick rapped.

The song debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Four more songs from We Don’t Trust You cracked the Top 10 of the chart.

“HIP-HOP IS ALIVE AND WELL,” Metro wrote after Billboard published its latest Hot 100.

We Don’t Trust You’s commercial performance put Metro in a good mood. He teased a gift for his fans on Monday (April 1).

Donald Trump’s Team Targets “Anti-White Racism” In Potential Second Term

Donald Trump’s team intends to reshape legislation designed to combat racism if he wins the 2024 presidential election. According to Axios, Trump’s allies want to protect against so-called “anti-white racism” with their spin on Civil Rights-era laws.

“Trump’s Justice Department would push to eliminate or upend programs in government and corporate America that are designed to counter racism that has favored whites,” Axios reported. “Targets would range from decades-old policies aimed at giving minorities economic opportunities to more recent programs that began in response to the pandemic and the killing of George Floyd.”

Former Trump aide Stephen Miller’s America First Legal began to establish a legal blueprint for the “anti-white racism” crusade in lawsuits against the NFL, CBS and Paramount Global. America First Legal targeted the NFL’s Rooney Rule, which requires teams to interview minority candidates when hiring for key roles such as head coach and general manager. Miller’s organization sued CBS and Paramount for the alleged discrimination of a straight white man who wrote for the television show SEAL Team.

Trump’s campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung did not attempt to refute the Axios report. Cheung promised a dramatic overhaul if his boss defeats President Joe Biden in November’s election.

“As President Trump has said, all staff, offices and initiatives connected to Biden’s un-American policy will be immediately terminated,” Cheung said.

The Trump team’s plan aligns with the views of his MAGA fanbase. Polling indicates his loyal followers believe racial minorities are favored over white people in America.

Trump seeks a return to office while battling various criminal charges. He faces four indictments, making him the first former president to be hit with federal or state charges.

New York prosecutors indicted Trump for business fraud while Georgia prosecutors got him for election interference. He was federally indicted for election interference and mishandling classified documents. Trump denies any wrongdoing.

Kanye West Accused Of Threatening To Put Donda Academy Students In Cages

Trevor Phillips joined the list of former Donda Academy employees who filed lawsuits against Kanye West. Phillips sued Ye for discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination and more in Los Angeles on Tuesday (April 2).

According to multiple reports, Phillips said Ye used “dangerous rhetoric” and expressed a desire to create a “jail” for Donda Academy students. Kanye allegedly told two children he wanted to shave their heads and lock them in cages.

Phillips, who started working for Ye in November 2022, said his ex-boss decided to “double down” on antisemitism after Adidas and others cut ties with the controversial rapper/rapper. Kanye compared himself to Hitler “minus the gas chambers” and said the Holocaust was fake.

Ye also targeted the LGBTQ+ community. He allegedly opined how “gay people are controlled by Bill Gates so that they don’t have children for population control,” per court documents.

The lawsuit claimed Ye “treated the Black staff considerably worse than white employees.” Phillips recalled one of Kanye’s “temper tantrums” at a May 2023 service held at the Donda Academy. Ye berated Phillips over the plaintiff’s work on a garden.

“Kanye’s ill-will towards the plaintiff ultimately culminated in a vulgar lashing in front of schoolchildren and their parents,” the lawsuit explained. “Kanye even threatened Phillips with physical violence.”

Ye declared he was firing Phillips, which led to the plaintiff pleading for his job. Phillips noted his daughter attended the Donda Academy but received a brutal response.

“F### your daughter,” Kanye said, per the complaint. “I don’t give a f### about none of that.”

The lawsuit said Ye threatened to punch Phillips in the face before a dramatic change of heart. Ye told Phillips he was giving the plaintiff “one more chance.” Kanye fired Phillips again the next day, yet Phillips continued working for Donda Academy until August 2023.

Phillips sought more than $35,000 in damages. Kanye has not commented on the lawsuit.

Whack previously earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Music Video for her 2017 “Mumbo Jumbo” visuals. The Philadelphia-bred artist spoke to Apple Music 1 about Hip-Hop legend Busta Rhymes serving as artistic inspiration.

“I was studying Busta Rhymes videos for so long,” she said. “He’s like one of the best performers. People sleep on Busta, he’s number one. Energy – he can flip a crowd upside down. We just met not too long ago and he’s everything, he’s so sweet.

“I just was trying to give him his praise and he was like, ‘Shut up.’ I was like, ‘All right.’ He just gave me all my flowers and I had to call my mom. I don’t usually call my mom for everything, I do, but just personal. I would’ve just told her the story, but I was like, I got to call my mom, because she is the reason that I’m a Busta stan.”

World Wide Whack follows 2018’s Whack World, 2021’s Rap?, Pop? and an appearance on Beyoncé’s The Lion King: The Gift.

“I think it’s God’s time,” she said about releasing her latest project. “Everything eventually aligns, but you just have to put in the work, stay persistent and always have faith. Never lose that faith, even in the toughest times you just got to be willing to push because it’s all really a test at the end of the day.”

Busta Rhymes built his legendary Hip-Hop legacy as one of the most celebrated visual artists of his generation. The 12x-Grammy nominee elevated music video production with Hype Williams-directed classics such as “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See,” “Dangerous” and “What’s It Gonna Be?!”

With Kanye West, Dame Dash & Justice League Cosigns, Hassan Is Ready For The World

Hassan’s wave began much like a pebble in a docile lake. The minute stone, metaphorically speaking, is now making waves in the music industry with his boundary-pushing collaborations and thought-provoking compositions. From working alongside icons like Kanye West and Dame Dash to producing beats for rising stars such as DeJ Loaf and Saweetie, Hassan’s influence on contemporary music is undeniable. Nowadays, Hassan pushes his creative process farther and and discussed his most collaboration with The J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League.

“Feelings,” a track with extreme emotional depth, was originally crafted by chopping up a Nina Simone sample, but in an effort to elevate the production, Hassan enlisted the expertise of Erik “Rook” Ortiz. Rook is a globally known producer and founding member of The J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, the production team known for working with Drake, Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, Raekwon, Conway The Machine and a host of others.

“J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League just have that luxury sound, you know what I mean?” Hassan said. “It felt like superhero music, like theme music, and for this joint ‘Feelings.’ I made the initial beat. I chopped up the Nina Simone song ‘Feelings.’ And I chopped it up and I had that piano part and I just had that loop. And then I sent it to Rook [of the Justice League] and I was just like, man, please Rook, if you could, man, if you feel the inspiration, if you feel the vibe, I would love for you to touch it and really bring it to that superhero level.”

And that is exactly what happened. The song, a few days old, has thousands of views already. His partnership with Dame Dash was forged during a another serendipitous encounter in Wyoming during a session with Kanye West. West is a source of inspiration and admiration for Hassan, who recalled playing West his album.

“Working with Ye is…it’s always a pinch me moment,” Hassan expressed still in awe. “I was playing him the ‘anything is possible’ beat. He was just mumbling. Like this line, this top line. And it’s like, man, we took that and I went and got a choir to sing that top line that he was doing. So on the record, he’s like mumbling the top line. And then I have the choir come in.”

Born in America, Hassan’s music is deeply rooted in his cultural heritage and personal experiences. Themes of personal exile and religion are reoccuring in his work, a reflection of a Muslim father and Catholic mother. “Feelings” offers listeners a glimpse into his upbringing and relationships.

“I draw a lot from personal experiences, especially my relationship with my mother and the struggles she has faced,” Hassan shared. “Her trauma has deeply impacted me and reflects in my music, adding layers of vulnerability and authenticity to my work.”

Hassan’s artistry is to provoke thought and ignite conversation through his music. With Hip-Hop in flux, he challenges the status quo in the way true artists do.

As Hassan continues to push forward, it appears that ripple initiated by the pebble will continue evolving into a tsunami.
