2blessed Shares The Musical Gift God Gave Him

Born in San Bernardino, California but raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, rising hip hop artist 2blessed has been making a name for himself in the underground hip hop scene.

The artist began taking his rapping skills seriously at the age of 12 years old. His gift became apparent at a young age and 2blessed gives all of the credit to God. “Music is a gift that God blessed me with, I have always loved it and always will,” explained 2blessed.

The one thing that has kept 2blessed going is he never give up mentality. He said, “I want people to always be positive and happy and to believe in themselves no matter what negativity is thrown at them. The closes ones to you will even try and crush your dreams and make you think otherwise. As long as you believe in yourself that’s all that matters.”

2blessed has channeled that energy into signing a distribution deal with Empire Records almost 15 years after he started rapping. Currently working with Billboard Charting producers like Jaramiah Rios, the artist is poised to make an even bigger impact in the music space.

Nicki Minaj Seems To Suggest Cardi B Is Racist, But Deletes Post

Nicki and Cardi.

These two could be more like Starkey and Hutch, but they are going at it. I don’t see the issue. They are so different as artists and people, BUT…there can only be one ONE. And each of them wants to be THE ONE. Nicki stepped out of character a bit recently and posted something that had her going right at Cardi B on some of her many comments. Remember, Cardi B and Nicki have had real beef. They even got into a fight where Cardi got a lump on her head from security.

Nicki seemingly posted a video in her IG stories that somebody captured.

https://twitter.com/GOTCITYTEA/status/1546970444489580546?

First of all, check it out. Do you think that shows Cardi B as racist towards Black women?

In the video, the person refers to Cardi as a “white woman named Cardinal Beatrice The Third,” which was a bit of joke. She claims that Cardi referred to Black Women as “roaches.” If she actually called people of color roaches, that would mean she is not racist. Cardi is a woman of color! She ain’t a white woman! Now, there may be some colorism issues here, but that’s another story.

Remember, people, this is nothing new. All of this hit hard in 2017, 2018 and 2020 and Cardi has since addressed it.

Cardi addressed the allegations, admitting to calling Black women “roaches,” but said race was not a factor. In fact, she said she has called HERSELF a roach!

WELLLLL, it seems like Nicki is drudging up some old stuff, not much unlike how 50 Cent did James Cruz recently. If they didn’t remind us, we would forget it!

Drill Rapper Gio Basha Reminds Us of a Villain from Gotham City

Musician Gio Basha is no stranger to controversy. The rumors surrounding his name over the years have made him somewhat of a mythological figure on the streets of New York but overseas and abroad; Basha is known more for his artwork and aggressive gangster rap. The untold story of Gio Basha however is far more intriguing. That is, his ability to erase a story and make unfavorable situations disappear. Some major financial scandals pertaining to Basha’s company have been swept under the rug recently and kept out of the U.S. media. Many have speculated as to why, with some wondering if Basha’s political and masonic connections play a part.

Now I am not a conspiracy theorist, nor do I intend to make any negative claims about Gio Basha. I do have compelling reasons to believe that Basha knows very powerful people who can make big stories go away. Now even if that is true, that doesn’t necessarily make Basha a bad person and it has nothing to do with his music. As a rapper, Gio Basha has one of the most unique sounds I have ever heard. When I listen to a Basha song, I am instantly transported to my youth, to the days of Tupac and Biggie, when gangster rap dominated the airwaves. His music is a mixture of old school and new school, with a Basha twist. That said, I haven’t heard a Gio Basha song I haven’t liked. Another interesting but curious thing about Basha is his long list of friends and acquaintances.

People who would otherwise have no connection whatsoever are connected through Basha. For example, Russian MMA fighter Fedor Emelianenko bought a small yacht from Basha in 2018. At the same time Gamal Mubarak, the son of former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak was said to have purchased a $125,000.00 ‘Ashera cat’ from him. This might seem ordinary enough until you learn that Basha has been accused of money laundering with corrupt politicians, like Kosovo’s “Azem Syla” or Albanian politician “Alqi Bllako” and even Bosnian Intelligence Chief “Osman Mehmedagic” was named alongside Basha’s in an investigation pertaining to stolen artworks in Italy. A long list of interesting people Basha is somehow connected to.

Even his best friend from childhood, media consultant ‘Kelvin Lupertazzi’ has had his fair share of controversies surrounding his company and business dealings in Japan. Apparently, both Basha and Lupertazzi illegally sold and purchased properties from ‘Kunio Inoue’ in 2019 (a former associate of Kenichi Shinoda). However, Basha’s lawyers have stated, that these claims are unsubstantiated and such slanderous allegations are nothing more than a smear campaign against Basha aimed at criminalizing his image. The truth is, Basha is focused on his music and upcoming documentary. He doesn’t pay any mind to the innuendo of negative publicity.

Still, the lack of publicity is what we find most alarming. So why does Basha get the special treatment? Unless of course, the media is being persuaded to stay away from the topic by some other means. Either way, his music is taking off and Gio Basha’s fan base is growing rapidly. I am personally very excited and I can’t wait for his new music. I believe he is a musician with an authenticity that is unparalleled. He’s exactly what hip-hop needs right now.

Unfortunately, life came between them but he hopes this song will inspire them to become the best versions of themselves.

Jaden Smith Explains Why He Ran From The Paparazzi In A Skirt

The Smiths, one of Hip-Hop’s premier families, who also happen to be titans in the Hollywood space, have a way of staying in the headlines.

They don’t have to try since the powerful family of artists seems to attract paparazzi and attention wherever they go.

The media scorpions seem to spotlight and criticize their art, business moves, and personal lives, mainly focusing their platforms on any bit of trauma or unusual creative choices — like the youngest son’s bold choices in fashion.

Jaden Smith, a rapper and son of Will Smith, is also one of the most prominent actors in film history. He talked about how he used that kind of attention to work to his benefit.

In a Hype Bae interview about his fashion, he said, “When it comes to fashion, it’s really coming from my emotions and how I’m feeling. If I’m wearing something, it’s because I feel like I can and when people notice, it opens up their minds to what they can wear and breaks down barriers.

“When I realized the power I had in that regard, I started to be more specific with the way I dress,” the “Icon” rapper continued. “Before I thought I was just doing something that no one would see, but now I realize I’m speaking for a bigger audience.”

The young Smith recalled what he considered some of his “biggest fashion moments” and how organic those times were. He said they all centered around his personal style and dressing for himself.

It was then he noticed that other people were taking pictures of him.

The first time I wore a skirt, I wasn’t trying to be seen, I was actually running away from the cameras and didn’t want to be noticed, but once they came out, I said, ‘Screw it, I’m going to do this for real now.'”

Many artists use the media in a way that works for them.

If you know anything about this family, for the most part, they try to make the best out of an impossible position.

UFO Fev Talks The High Enterprise, His Roots In Harlem, Black Rob Inspiring his Name, & “Sunsets in the Ghetto”

UFO Fev has landed, and he’s here to rep for his East Harlem, New York City hometown. Coming from humble beginnings living in the Jefferson housing projects, the East Coast spitter is a true student of the rap game, inspired directly by the greats surrounding him.

In fact, he lived in the same building as Black Rob, who gave him his name Fev (short for Fever).

In describing himself, UFO Fev states, “I’m a man, I’m a dad first. I raise my two girls. After that, I’m an artist. I’m a full-time independent artist.”

Fast forward to today, Fev unveils his newest single and visual titled “Sunsets in the Ghetto,” also the name of his forthcoming project arriving July 15th. Additionally, he’s as proud as ever to have his independent label, The High Enterprise, consistently putting out music and new merch — comparable to the West Coast movement with Drakeo The Ruler and RalfyThePlug’s of the world.

The goal? To be self-sufficient, putting on other independent artists and giving them the resources to take their music to the next level.

AllHipHop caught up with UFO Fev to discuss his roots, favorite artists, being discovered by Dre from Cool & Dre, his past relationship with Black Rob, his new release “Sunsets in the Ghetto,” working with the Queen of Dancehall, Spice, and more!

AllHipHop: What was that like growing up in the East Harlem projects?

UFO Fev: For me, it was a beautiful thing growing up in my neighborhood, it’s predominantly Black and Latino. Public housing, NYCHA development, seven floors in my building. Very, very tough in the late 90’s, 2000’s. All that good stuff. A very eclectic neighborhood. We got a lot of Latino stuff going. A lot of street culture, hip hop culture, New York stuff. That was it. I grew up playing basketball and hanging out with older guys.

AllHipHop: Did you have hoop dreams?

UFO Fev: Yes ma’am, I certainly did. I moved to Upstate, NY in ninth grade to try to get to better schools. My dad took me Upstate to East Fishkill, so I played for a high school there called John Jay. I had played varsity basketball, but I got homesick. I was pretty young my ninth grade year, so I wanted to come back to Harlem. When I came back to East Harlem, I started playing basketball for my new high school, Urban Peace Academy, and then I broke my leg. I was 15 years old, when I broke my leg during practice. We had a Saturday morning practice and I ended up breaking my fibula and tibula. From there, it was a wrap. That’s when I picked up the mic.

AllHipHop: I know your dad was a musician, right? Is that how you fell in love with music?

UFO Fev: Yeah, my dad was in a freestyle group. A dance group called TKA back in the days, they were pretty successful. They had a great run. I’ve always been in love with music, surrounded by it from New York City in the 90’s to early 2000’s. Being and growing up outside, there was predominantly music blasting all the time. Boomboxes, cars, speakers, everything. It was all kinds of music.

But when I fell in love with creating music, and crossed over to being from a fan to an emcee was when I broke my leg. I was house ridden. I had a cast that went all the way up to my thigh, so I was bedridden. I started listening to more music and writing rhymes, that’s when I started taking everything more seriously. Thinking I could do music, there weren’t any outlets back then for people. There weren’t any platforms like that, so it wasn’t much of an aspiration as compared to a hobby. Something to keep me busy and away from outside where the trouble was.

Because at that age at 16, 17, I was very influenced by the wrong people. Music saved me, to the fact that I was doing it so much that people knew I was rapping. It kept them off me, as far as trying to influence me to do other things.

AllHipHop: Are there certain artists you fell in love with early on, that made you want to do it as well?

UFO Fev: Yes ma’am. From far away, it was Beanie Sigel. I fell in love with Beanie Sigel first, that was the first. It was my eighth and ninth grade year. From close, seeing it first-hand was G.Dep and Black Rob. Those are the guys I have real real love for. Superheroes, because I saw them. They’d come around, so it was more tangible. I can touch and feel this success, as opposed to it being someone I liked from afar.

AllHipHop: Talk about how black Rob influenced your name.

UFO Fev: I was rhyming in my neighborhood, but I had another name. They would call me Mookie in my projects, that was my street nickname. So that’s what I was rhyming by, I was Young Mook. I didn’t know I had to have a name, I thought who you are is what you are. As I’m rhyming, I’m not saying my name. I didn’t have a name. I’m anonymous. I’m rhyming, and people would say “Yo, you heard of that Puerto Rican kid?” That’s what most people say: “yo, he’s a Puerto Rican kid from Jeff. He’s nice.” A lot of times, people wouldn’t know it was me because I was playing basketball. When a cypher would break out, and I start rhyming, everyone’s minds would be blown. They’d say “oh, we didn’t expect that.”

Rob one time, we met each other at the park. I was going back home, he was walking towards Lexington Avenue. He’s a family friend so he gave me a hug, he asked about my mom and my dad. As I’m walking off, like a movie I’ll never forget it, I’m walking past him and he stops me. I turn around, he’s like “yo I heard you got a little Fever out here. I heard you’re rhyming, I heard you’re doing some things.” I was giddy. I blushed, because he was one of my mentors. My idol and he didn’t even know it.

I’m blushing, I said “yeah I do my thing Rob.” He’s like “alright, keep doing your thing.” From then on, I was Fev. I liked that name, Fever, it’s a dope name. It came from Rob so I stuck with it. My tattoo artist cut the name in half. He said “Yo, you should just be Fev.” Because I was trying to match up what works with Fever. It wasn’t really working well, because it’s a funny name. [laughs] That’s when the UFO came too, because people weren’t used to seeing a Spanish kid like myself, a Puerto Rican kid rap the way I was.

AllHipHop: How was it having Black Rob as a neighbor though?

UFO Fev: He was an amazing man, RIP! Rob was a great guy. Even though he did some bad things in my neighborhood. He was a part of a popular crew in my projects that ran those buildings. Rob has always been the man, where I’m from. His best friend was the guy. He was always popular in the streets as far as playing basketball, then getting into trouble.

Obviously, he was older than me, he was one of my dad’s good friends. I had my first fight and Rob picked me up from school. My first fist fight was in the third grade. I was crying because a bully messed up my school project. I had built a little castle out of a brown box and he crushed it. I was crying and Rob came to pick me up with my dad. My dad and Rob said “man, we gon’ be back,” and they made me address the issue in the school yard.

AllHipHop: You were first discovered by Dre from producers Cool & Dre. How did that happen?

UFO Fev: Dre got in contact with me through social media. One of the bloggers had posted me rapping in the studio, it was getting a lot of views. Somewhere down the line, a friend of mine had pulled me like “Yo, I got somebody who wants to talk to you man.” It ended up being Dre from Cool & Dre, which led to him telling me he had played the music. Saw the freestyle and played it for Joe, which led to the meeting with Joe as well. All within the same 24 hours

AllHipHop: How were those conversations?

UFO Fev: They gave me nothing but guidance. We have a lot of hip hop conversations. I’m a hip hop guy, as are they. Although people might think they’re more mainstream, for the most part, we have arguments for hours about who’s the best MCs. Also the knowledge of the business, it’s like a masterclass for independence around those guys. Seeing how to play with the big boys, and how to do things on a level I’m at right now. Keep my nose clean and try to stay as business savvy as I can.

I’ve also had a relationship with Puff [Sean Diddy Combs], that’s led to opportunities where I’m meeting other artists who were on my level at one time, and have leveled up now as they’ve grown. Also his interns and his assistants, getting knowledge from those people as well. Those conversations are mostly knowledgeable, I’m like the fly. When I’m with those guys, I’m the student. I’m the Jedi, learning from the masters.

AllHipHop: How would you describe your rhymes? I know you’re big on storytelling.

UFO Fev: I’m a big storyteller. In my rhymes, I try to keep that aspect of the genre alive. Subconsciously, I don’t even know I do it sometimes. I guess I’m a big fan of Nas, I grew up on Nas. I’m a huge Slick Rick fan, I love Slick Rick. I love Black Rob, he was one of the greatest storytellers as well. Big Pun as well, peace to Pun. Keeping that in my tool belt, making sure I’m able to visualize my rhymes, it means the world to me. Hip hop is everything to me, the culture is everything to me. I don’t want to let it down, so it’s like a burden sometimes.

AllHipHop: You just released “Sunsets in the Ghetto,” what inspired this record?

UFO Fev: “Sunsets in the Ghetto” was a record that I wanted to come out in the summer. Sometimes I don’t write the rhymes beforehand, I like going to the studio with a clear mind. Try to hear the beat and come up with a good idea, so that was that. “Sunsets in the Ghetto,” I didn’t really have any expectations for it. When I heard the beat, I actually said it sounds like the Sunset in the Ghetto. That’s where that line came from, I had ran with it and created the hook.

It feels like a good summertime record. When you grow up, the summers are very important to us. The smell of it, liking that first girlfriend or boyfriend. Getting dressed up, going outside with your friends, that’s what I wanted to capture on the record. I felt like my younger self thinking about a 6pm or 7pm late afternoon in the summertime, when you were outside. You take a shower, you got your gear on, and you’re trying to find a vibe as a youngin’ outside. That’s the mindframe I was in when I captured the rhymes.

AllHipHop: Talk about working with Spice too, that’s incredible.

UFO Fev: Oh my goodness man, Spice is a queen. What can I say, I was in her presence. I’m a be honest, I knew who she was, but when she walked in the studio and my friends lost it, oh man she’s important. I figured it out after that. I knew who Vybz was and I knew Spice, but when the street guys walked in, “Yo, that’s Spice!” I’m like “how do you know Spice?” They said “yo, my girl loves Spice.” I thought, “Oh man, we got one.”

It was a favor coming from Miss Jackie Rowe, Mike Tyson’s sister. Shout out to Miss Jackie Rowe, she connected us. She’s a longtime friend with Fat Joe, so it wasn’t too much of a headache to get them on the line. Spice is the best! She didn’t have to come through. She’s such a queen. I’m just a guy coming up. She came through the studio, she vibed with us. We had fun. She was in the studio together making the record. I watched her lay the hook, I have footage of it. It was a great time man. I thank her so much because like I said, she’s a queen. She didn’t have to come down from her throne to rock with us like that. She shot the vid too. Shout out to Spice because she came out for the vid and she looked amazing.

AllHipHop: What does fatherhood mean to you?

UFO Fev: Fatherhood to me is the best neighborhood in the world. It’s the best place you can live. Sometimes, it’s hard. It’s not easy, I don’t want to sell it like it’s easy. Being a parent is very tough. Balancing your relationship with your children and your spouse is very hard, so hats off to everybody that does their thing with it.

For me, I grew up in a broken home so it was very important to try to get my kids an opportunity to have a dad in the picture. So it wasn’t nothing, I wasn’t really second guessing it. Once the opportunity was allotted to me, I just jumped in. I wanted my kids to have a fun dad, a cool dad. Alright bet, we’re gonna try and make this the best we can. I ended up personally growing with my daughters. I have an 8-year-old, we’re growing up together. Now I have a 2-year-old as well. They teach me all the things I need to know that didn’t come from the streets: patience, love, all that stuff. Good vibes.

AllHipHop: What can we expect next? What do you have going on?

UFO Fev: Sunsets in the Ghetto, the album, July 15th 2022. We got some shows coming up in August as well. I’ll be in Spain in September, I’m looking forward to that. Some more projects by the end of the year. Couple more, like 3 or 4 more projects.

AllHipHop: Anything else you want to let the people know?

UFO Fev: Follow me on all social media: @UFOFev. My website, thehighenterprise.com. You’re the coolest, thank you.

Judge Rules NBA Youngboy’s Lyrics Won’t Be Used In Federal Gun Trial

Artistry and creative license secured one decisive win for NBA Youngboy after U.S. District Judge R. Gary Klausner dismissed the prosecution’s motion to use his violent rap lyrics as evidence against him during his upcoming gun possession case, Rolling Stone reports.

As AllHipHop.com has reported, the 22-year-old rapper, born Kentrell Gaulden, has been on house arrest in Utah until his two-felony gun trial started.

The artist stepped into the Los Angeles federal courtroom on Tuesday (July 12th) to defend the firearm allegations against him.

The rapper was arrested in March of 2021 in Los Angeles after being arrested on an outstanding federal warrant. The cops claim they found an unregistered firearm in the rap star’s possession.

Before the lawyers selected jurors or made opening statements, both sides wanted to clear up whether or not the lyrics of some of his songs could be entered as evidence.

The state wanted to use lyrics from the chart-topper’s songs “Gunsmoke,” “Life Support,” and “Lonely Child” to connect him to “a specific FN .45 caliber pistol” and ammo that authorities believed he had on him at the time of his arrest.

NBA Youngboy’s lawyers argued, “These lyrics are highly prejudicial as they discuss hardcore rap which has been empirically established to be more negatively received than other genres of music.”

“It would be one thing if the music described this arrest. But a song referencing a similar gun well before the gun in the indictment was purchased … offer[s] very minimal probative value and [is] substantially outweighed by the prejudice contained within the words of the songs.

“Even if Mr. Gaulden is familiar with various models of guns and sings about them, it does not mean that he knew this particular gun was secreted on the passenger floor of the Maybach when police attempted to pull his car over to arrest him,” the legal team continued.

The judge sided with NBA Youngboy’s team.

This case sets a precedent for several other cases across the country that aim to use rappers’ lyrics as evidence against them.

Most recently, prosecutors in a R.I.C.O. case in Georgia want to use Young Thug and Gunna’s lyrics to connect them to criminal activity, sparking record executives Kevin Liles and Julie Greenwald to launch the Protect Black Art Petition.

This year, in May, the New York State Senate voted on and approved a bill that limits the use of lyrics as evidence by prosecutors.

The bill would require D.A.s and their teams to prove that the lyrics are about a specific event.

Quavo Says He Hates Looking Like An Abuser After Saweetie Tumble

If you have ever been young and in love, you know it can be complicated sometimes. Quavo and Saweetie were in love at one point in time. And, with the proliferation of cameras, one of their lower moments was captured on video. That video looked like they were in the midst of an abusive relationship. More importantly, it made Quavo look like an abuser of women. This is something that he abhors and hopes that does not destroy his reputation.

But mostly, he seems like he really hates the fact that the perception is out there that he might’ve been a woman beater and not a lover. I don’t think that is the prevailing idea, but some people are going to take that video footage to the bank. Now, some years have passed but it seems like it still lingers in his mind a bit. He’s talking about it.

During an interview with GQ magazine, said, “If I can ever speak on it, I never once in a million years want to do any harm to any woman, period. When they saw the elevator thing they thought it was abusive, something crazy.”

Take a look at it again:

The interesting thing is the tone that I am getting from him seems to suggest some form of regret. Almost like he wishes there were still a relationship between him and his ex. I could be wrong, but that’s what it seems like. One thing also that I think we should note, is that neither one of them has exactly seen their star shine brighter since they broke up. I’m not saying they are failures, because they are not. But they were good together. At least in theory.

Quavo and Saweetie in better times

I wonder what about this CAN’T he discuss?

Last year, he said what he said.

“We had an unfortunate situation almost a year ago that we both learned and moved on from. I haven’t physically abused Saweetie and have real gratitude for what we did share overall,” he said in a statement.

Birdman Calls Out Rick Ross For Swagger Jacking

Here we go! You know Rick Ross called out Birdman heavy a few years ago in a song. “Idols Become Rivals” was a version of ether that we hadn’t seen in quite some time, especially from Artist from the south. Our brothers and sisters from the south tend to stick together and collaborate, unlike their northern cousins who battle rap and destroy each other incessantly. So, when Rick Ross dropped that diss track it was a shocker to everybody. Nevertheless, that was years ago – 2017 to be specific.

TIME FLIES!

He said Birdman’s watch was fake in the song. Good lord.

In this new day, 2022, Birdman has not forgotten. He did a casual interview with DJ Akademiks and there were a number of nuances in that interview. Most notably, he shaded Rick Ross as he talks in the interview. It was a very casual comment, but a very telling one nonetheless. He basically said that Rick Ross swagger jacked his style and has done so for years. He gave Cash Money a lot of respect, but also seem to shade Turk too. Not sure why he aid that, since Turk was incarcerated and other things. Turk came up! At any rate, I wonder if this will set anything off? I don’t think so. To me, it seems like Rick Ross is in another phase of his life and he’s actually enjoying the fruits of his labor.

He’s funny now!

Ironically, this comes on the heels of Gillie Da Kid coming at Rick Ross as well. Gill King got upset because Rick Ross made mention of him in the comments section of one of the social media posts with Lil Wayne. So, Rick Ross has two common adversaries, both of which are linked to Cash Money Records. That seems more than ironic! Anyway, check out the videos and tell me what you think.

Akilah Brock Fights Back After NYPD Abuse With Bars

Akilah Brock has been in the game for years, but it has not made her an animal thankfully. The New York-based rapper has been through a lot and has a lot to get off her chest in this exclusive interview. A few short years ago, she made headlines after she was unjustly detained by the New York Police Department after telling them that Obama followed her on Twitter. The only thing is, the first Black president did follow her on the social media.

However, her amazing story of persistence and perseverance in music and Hip-Hop is her story. The Jamaican native has a unique value proposition in a game of conformity and meek-minded creatives. She hugs the exclusivity of underground, but has her eyes set on superstardom. Finding the pathway is where her challenges lie. Get to know Akilah Brock.

AllHipHop: Give people a sense of your style of music?

Akilah Brock: Teddy Riley said, you gotta name your sound. So I like to call my music Gangsta Gospel. I love dropping jewels about love in my music and that’s what Gospel is. Teaching about Christ and Christ is love. I’m from one of the most gangsta towns in Jamaica called Jungle. So I like to add a little bit of my roots; not in how I speak, but the way I ride the beat is reggae vibes; very subtle but it’s there- on songs like Imagine, The Police & Type A Way you can hear it clear. I don’t like to make one type of sound or flow though. I love switching up my style. So you will hear a variety like House/ R&B vibes on The Night or Party vibes on Get Light or Gangsta vibes on The Pray or Gospel vibes on The G. It’s all Gangsta Gospel to me though. A vibe for every mood.

AllHipHop: What would you say is your story, what makes you different from the pack?

Akilah Brock: Music chose me. I’ve always loved to write. I used to write poems, well I still do but when my mom got sick with cancer, I wrote her a poem and she never got the chance to hear it. To help cope, I  started reciting the poem to anyone who would listen and it became rhythmic. By happen stance, on the one year anniversary of her passing I recorded the poem as a song and on that day Akilah Brock was born. I told my story on my first album though, Te$timoney. Funny thing is, Te$timoney’s album art work is very similar to BREEZY’s Deluxe Album artwork- same concept basically. Actually those are the things that I love to see, you know the similarities between me and the greats and these kinds of signs help to continue to drive my passions.

I see it like, great minds think alike vibes, you know. What makes me different though is my approach to the industry. The way I think about fame and fortune. I love making music to help heal the world. To really make an impact on healing the world, I need to be filthy rich! But I always say I don’t want to be famous. Keep the fame- give me the fortune! Ha! It ain’t easy to be rich in this industry without the fame though.

So that’s my dilemma, I gotta figure that part out- how to get mainstream fortune being an “underground” artist. So for now, until I get the fortune, I believe I’m this exclusive artist, you know- The One. lending my influence to the influencers that have the fortune to help make an impact to help heal the world. As long as it gets done it don’t matter who’s doing it or where they come from. Like Mike Jack said, heal the world make it a better place.

AllHipHop: Talk about your encounter with the police that lead you to being committed. Did you ever sue the NYPD?

Akilah Brock: Well, it’s a two day encounter. On the first day I was working on a video set with Director Picture Perfect. I was headed to the next location when the police pulled me over in Harlem for driving without both hands on the steering wheel. I was just dancing at a stop light okay. You can google Kam Brock story for a few re-enactments and articles made by the media. I really don’t like talking about it but long story short the police took my car for smoking weed and driving. My Dad picked me up from the precinct and I went to get my car the next day. My Dad gave me money to get there because the police didn’t give me any of my property, it was all left in the car. So no money, no I.d’s, no nothing. So the next day when I went to Harlem from Long Island to get my car I got lost taking public transportation and ended up at the wrong precinct in Harlem without I.d. and no more money, no cell phone, no nothing. I told them I was lost but my car was confiscated yesterday I dont have I.d it’s all in my car but they didn’t believe me.

I gave them all my info they requested. They didn’t believe my age, they didn’t believe I owned my car a bmw, they didn’t believe anything I was saying. I told them I was from Baldwin Harbor Long Island but they thought I was from the Harlem  Projects. I kept trying to tell them help me get to my car please I knew the street the precinct was on I told them they said it’s not in their system. The police never booked my car in the system as being confiscated. They tried to arrest me cause I would not leave the precinct until they helped me, so I ran out of the precinct but a police officer came out and convinced me they would help. I remained calm until they brought me to the hospital. At the precinct they said they was taking me to my car, but when I saw Iwas going to my car in an ambulance I asked them, “you taking me to my car in an ambulance?” I was so confused but I went with it. When I saw the hospital and not my car I tried to leave again and they stopped me by injecting me and kept me for 9 days. I did sue NYC. They offered me money to settle but I took it to trial and had an all white jury and lost the case. I regret not taking the settlement. But I do plan on making a documentary about it one day. Hopefully soon. Kam Brock VS NYC.

AllHipHop: What sort of moves do you make now in the name of mental health, if any?

Akilah Brock: Mental health to me is very personal. I’ve never been crazy or needed professional help. Like, to be honest, I have thought about suicide at some of the lowest points in my life, but I’m still alive. I don’t think like that anymore no matter how bad life gets. I do respect those that go seek help from a professional like a psychiatrist, but for me- I choose to go to God, my family and friends. That works for me. When my mom passed, I tried to see someone but it didn’t feel right to me. I think because I am such a private person telling a stranger my personal business feels weird to me. Praying helps me the most. It calms me, I have no anxiety, no worries. I rest assured believing it’s all good and I will always be good. Even when someone ask me how I’m doing my response is I’m always good. Because no matter what I truly am. I stay at peace by keeping my mind in a happy place. Knowing trial and tribulations will come but also believing I have the power to overcome.

AllHipHop: Do you feel like you have PTSD?

Akilah Brock: I used to have it real bad. I do think they did something to me in there. The courts never gave me the footage I requested from the hospital or precinct. After I tried to leave the hospital they injected me and I woke up in the hospital to a room full of doctors taking off my underwear and they injected me again then I went back unconscious again. The put a catheter in me without my consent okay. So yes, I think I may still have a little PTSD but not as bad as right after they discharged me from the ward. The main issue why they kept me is because They didn’t believe Barack Obama follows me on Twitter, which he still do. That I own a BMW which I still do. And that I was unusually happy which I still am. Can you believe they diagnosed me as unusually happy? No lies, it’s in my medical records. It blows my mind the length these people will go to try and assassinate your character. Research Drapetomania, I believe what happened to me is the modern day version of that. So, I try not to get to happy around people anymore, but I’m a really happy person once you get to know me.

AllHipHop: How have these experiences impacted your music?

Akilah Brock:  My first album Te$timoney was all about my life and some topics about whats going on in the world on tracks like “Oh Summer.” My mixtape Turn Me On was me exploring my sexy side on tracks like “Let’s Get Naked” and “Get Fluid.” When I made Mayday 3x, it was after a well known rapper who I thought was my mentor killed my dreams of opening up for him because I stopped dealing with him like that. So on songs like “Fallen” and “Mayday 3x” I’m expressing my frustrations about what happened between us. Women in this industry are taken advantage of far too often. That’s why I decided I didn’t want to talk about sex in my music that much anymore. To me female rap has turned in to strippers performing. Shaking ass, sexy stripper like outfits and the topic is mostly sexual. It’s like ratchet music is celebrated and spreading love music gets silenced. Let me digress though. Let me get back on topic, my fault.

Anyway, after what happened to me, I made The Love album and I can hear the difference. I made a song called “The Kill” talking about what happened to me. Picture Perfect directed the video too. He also directed Boday Yellow for Cardi B. “The Kill” is one of my best videos in my opinion. Another track “Caught On” is me cursing AmeriKKKa out. “The Police” is a track talking about how bad they treat us. So my experiences most definitely shaped the topics of my music now. Although, I do feel what happened to me hasn’t impacted my music as much as it has impacted me as an activist. For sure, I wrote about what’s going on in the world more so now than before. But I have also become more involved and invested in the betterment of we the people. I’ve even received The Power Of Influence Award for my Activism. I believe everything happens for a good reason. I’m more of an empath to tragedy now. It may sound crazy, but sometimes I think I can feel it coming.

AllHipHop: You have been rapping a while. What keeps you going? Have your goals changed at all?

Akilah Brock:  God keeps me going and my fans, The Ones. The Ones are no joke. They are the best fan base ever! They keep me exclusive and I love that about them. When they see me- they know what time it is and it keeps me going. My family and friends encourages me too and let’s me know what they feeling and not feeling. They holds no bars okay. Plus God be on my back like you better keep going. And Love, Love stays in my head like- Can’t Stop Won’t Stop. I just gotta get to that Knowledge Is Rich philanthropic foundation bag asap so I can get in it and stay in it. If I had the resources to compete on my talent level I know I would break records and make history. I believe I have so much to accomplish so I do what I can everyday to get to my goals. Above all goals I have one main goal though KILL HATE. That goal will never change.

AllHipHop: What do you have coming up?

Akilah Brock: I’m on tour with TopMics so I have some shows coming up in Jersey, CT, Philly, Miami, Texas and Virginia this year. I am also dropping my music video for Audi 5000 sometime soon and releasing my next album Queen Of The Underground comes November 11, 2022 or Jan 11, 2023 depending on my pockets. It’s hard being an independent artist. Without real support paying for videos, studio time, marketing and promotion, etc is rough- but I believe in my dreams so imma keep going.

AllHipHop: Final words?

Akilah Brock:  I love you AllHipHop. Thank you to all my believers and belovers. The Ones- ya keep shining! If you don’t know me come get familiar, follow me @akilahbrock on all platforms. Stream my music today and tomorrow, subscribe to my YouTube and Spotify. Buy some Akilah Brock tunes where ever sold. You will hear true stories get told, can’t you see I never gets old. I am The One, love me don’t leave me alone. Let’s rock on.

Nick Cannon Admits Wanting To Get Back With Kim Kardashian

Multi-hyphenated entertainer Nick Cannon is known to share his thoughts about his life and a range of other topics. Cannon decided to discuss his past relationship with Kanye “Ye” West’s estranged wife and Pete Davidson’s current girlfriend, Kim Kardashian.

While sitting down for the Hot Tee digital show, Nick Cannon played a game called “Spin The Block.” The Wild ‘n Out and The Masked Singer host had to admit if he would rekindle a relationship with a former romantic partner such as the Skims founder.

“This is controversial. She’s with my little bro [Pete Davidson],” said Nick Cannon about Kim K. The comedian added, “Hey, it’s all love, but that’s Kim Kardashian. I’d definitely spin the block. Shout out to my little bro, but I would. I don’t know what their situation is. I’m not messy, I’m patient.”

Nick Cannon and Kim Kardashian reportedly started their relationship in 2006. Kardashian began seeing Kanye West in 2012 before the couple married in 2014. The two billionaire celebrities had four children together before publicly splitting in 2021. Kardashian then acknowledged Pete Davidson as her boyfriend late last year.

In addition to Kim Kardashian being one of his exes, Nick Cannon also dated singer Christina Milian and model Selita Ebanks. The Explicit Tape: Raw & B creator married R&B/Pop legend Mariah Carey in 2008 before they finalized their divorced in 2016.

Nick Cannon has made headlines in recent months for fathering eight children by several women, including 11-year-old twins with Mariah Carey. His son, Zen, died of brain cancer in 2021 at five months old. A ninth child by deejay Abby De La Rosa is supposedly on the way. Last year, De La Rosa gave birth to Cannon’s other twins, Zion and Zillion.

50 Cent Reacts To Earning Primetime Emmy Nomination

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has routinely blasted the Television Academy, the entertainment industry group that presents the annual Primetime Emmy Awards. However, 50 Cent may have changed his tune.

On Tuesday, the Television Academy revealed the full list of nominations for the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards. 50 Cent’s name was among this year’s nominees.

“The Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show Starring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent” is up for Outstanding Variety Special (Live). 50 reacted to the news on social media.

“So I guess I’m gonna win my first Emmy Award🤷🏽‍♂️,” wrote 50 Cent on his Instagram page. The G-Unit boss could add an Emmy to his legacy which already includes a Grammy Award for “Crack A Bottle” by Eminem.

Previously, 50 Cent took issue with the Emmys for never nominating his Power series for any awards. In 2020, he posted, “F### your organization I only care about NAACP awards. 🤨.”

A year later, 50 called out the Television Academy after no actors/actresses of color won an acting Emmy at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards. His complaints coincided with the #EmmysSoWhite trending topic.

“Listen the Emmys still has a separate bathroom for colored folks. I’m gonna put the NAACP Awards on the air at the same time and f### up [their] numbers. No, they really should be afraid of me. I’m different,” wrote 50.

The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards will take place on September 12. Other notable nominees include Zendaya (Lead Actress in a Drama Series), Donald Glover (Lead Actor in a Comedy Series), Quinta Brunson (Lead Actress in a Comedy Series), and Issa Rae (Lead Actress in a Comedy Series).

Lil Uzi Vert Announces ‘Red & White’ EP

Fans of Lil Uzi Vert have been waiting for the Philadelphia native to drop his next studio LP. Those Uzi followers will likely have to wait a little longer for an album, but an EP is apparently on the way.

It appeared The Pink Tape would be the next effort from Lil Uzi Vert. However, the 26-year-old rapper took to social media to announce another project.

“Red & White EP… Before The P!NK 🔴⚪️=👩🏽‍🎤 🦇,” wrote Uzi on Instagram. 2017’s Luv Is Rage 1.5 is the Generation Now representative’s previous extended play.

So far, Uzi has released two studio LPs. Luv Is Rage 2 landed in August 2017. Eternal Atake followed in March 2020. Both albums debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The Recording Industry Association of America certified Luv Is Rage 2 as 2x-Platinum. Uzi’s Eternal Atake reached Platinum status as well. His 2016 mixtape Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World earned a Platinum Award too.

Lil Uzi Vert also scored a Top 5 project on the Billboard 200 with Pluto x Baby Pluto, the collaborative album with Atlanta-raised rapper Future. Pluto x Baby Pluto peaked at #2 in 2020.

Earlier this year, Lil Uzi Vert stated that he is working on a quintessential project. He informed his followers to be on the lookout for high-quality music in the near future.

“This time, less talkin’ more working🤫💿💓💕,” wrote Uzi on his Instagram Story in May. “Going back in classic mode🔥. [I’ve] been [through too] much this time around🦇. Nothin’ can break me.”

Lil Uzi Vert recently hit the stage at the Wireless Festival in London, England. There were reports that Uzi injured a concertgoer by throwing a cell phone into the crowd, but the performer’s team denied he intentionally targeted a particular person.

‘Call Of Duty’ Shouts Out Cardi B’s “Hot S###” Video With Lil Durk & Kanye West

Cardi B is back with a brand new music video. The self-described Trap Selena let loose “Hot S###” featuring Lil Durk and Kanye “Ye” West on Tuesday night.

Lado Kvataniya directed the “Hot S###” visuals. The MV opens with Cardi B standing on top of a computer-generated high-rise building before she changes into different looks throughout the clip.

Chicago rapper Lil Durk shows up in the second verse while a masked Kanye West makes an appearance for the final verse. There were some questions online if the person in the video was actually Ye.

The “Hot S###” music video also caught the attention of some members of the gaming community. At one point, Cardi B wears a pendant with the face of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II character Simon “Ghost” Riley.

Call of Duty‘s verified Twitter account even promoted Cardi’s “Hot S###” video. The first-person shooter game’s account referenced lyrics from the track. COD tweeted, “Ghost so popping, don’t gotta be introduced 👀🔥.”

https://twitter.com/CallofDuty/status/1547010128787947522?s=20&t=UFc6mmEs6GGWeyXO74jZ9Q

“Hot S###” is currently trending in the Top 5 of YouTube’s music section. Since arriving on the platform yesterday at 8 pm ET, Cardi’s latest presentation has amassed more than 820,000 views.

Cardi B explained why she was not able to release the “Hot S###” music video when the song dropped on July 1. The Grammy winner pointed the finger at the process to create CGI.

“I don’t really do CGI. So this is my first time trying CGI. It was something very different for me. I couldn’t maneuver or move how I wanted to, because I was very confused. After I finished the video, I find out that this s### takes so long. I did this video around March, and it’s still not even ready yet,” said Cardi two weeks ago.

Jhené Aiko & Her Baby Daddy O’Ryan Trend Online After His Naked Jumping Jacks Video Leaks

Jhené Aiko fans got the surprise of their life on Tuesday evening (Jul. 12) when they checked to see why the singer was trending on Twitter.

Though the “Sativa” songstress has recently been making headlines of her own after announcing her pregnancy with Big Sean, her other baby daddy was the trending topic this time.

O’Ryan had social media in a frenzy after some very intimate videos of him were leaked online. The singer, who is also Omarion’s younger brother, apparently created an OnlyFans account, which is where the clips are said to come from. One video in particular left fans stunned as O’Ryan can be seen completely naked and doing jumping jacks.

Twitter users flooded the platform with responses to O’Ryan and his athletic display. Meanwhile, Jhené Aiko began trending after fans also dragged her into the conversation. Some were in awe of how handsome the men she made babies with were. Others accused O’Ryan of clout chasing after the news broke of her expecting a baby with Big Sean. Check out some of the responses below.

Meanwhile, Jhené Aiko features on a new track titled “Water Sign,” with L.A. singer August 08. She took to Instagram to share a clip of the video, alongside a series of images of herself from the shoot. A blossoming baby bump is clearly visible underneath the singer’s floaty outfits.

AUGUST 08, Jhené Aiko – Water Sign

While Jhené Aiko and Big Sean prepare to welcome their bundle of joy into the world, earlier this week, the Cali native congratulated her father, who is also expecting a baby.

Dr. Karamo Chilombo broke the news on July 9, sharing a sweet gender reveal video on Instagram.

Jhené hopped into the comments and wrote, ” Congratulations 💙,” to which her father replied, “Thank you my wonderful, beautiful daughter.”
