The rapper had pleaded not guilty to the charges and now he faces the possibility of spending up to 22 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of assault with a semiautomatic firearm; carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle; and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
The verdict was met with mixed reactions on social media, with many expressing relief that justice was served, while others defended Tory Lanez and claimed that he was being unfairly targeted.
However, one tweet in particular caught the attention of many online: Tory Lanez’s final tweet before his conviction, posted on December 7th.
In it, he quoted the Bible, stating “I’m going to leave this here one more time …and watch how it ages … NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER … AND EVERY TONGUE THAT RISES AGAINST ME IN JUDGEMENT SHALL BE CONDEMNED u sit and watch now …. And don’t ever question the GOD I serve again.”
Tory ended the tweet with the statement “This is my last tweet.”
I’m going to leave this here one more time …and watch how it ages … NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER … AND EVERY TONGUE THAT RISES AGAINST ME IN JUDGEMENT SHALL BE CONDEMNED u sit and watch now …. And don’t ever question the GOD I serve again . This is my last tweet
Many saw the tweet as ironic given the circumstances of the case and some pointed out the hypocrisy of Tory quoting the Bible while being accused of a violent crime.
The tweet quickly went viral after Friday’s verdict and Tory began trending on social media.
“This didn’t age well at all,” one user wrote, while another stated “Well, he wasn’t lying about this being his last tweet 😂.”
Naya Austin, the highest-ranking female member of the Gorilla Stone Reign Cave gang, has been sentenced to 19.5 years in prison for her involvement in a sweeping RICO case.
Last week, Naya Austin was convicted of being a prolific drug dealer for the gang and committing a gunpoint robbery at a hotel in Peekskill, New York.
She was also captured on surveillance video participating in a violent attack on a victim outside a gas station in Peekskill and was accused of possessing multiple firearms, including an AR-15.
In addition, Austin was linked to a shooting as part of a road rage incident on August 2nd, 2020. Austin was facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 24 years in prison, but she took a plea deal, yet she was still sentenced to a long time behind bars.
On Christmas Eve (December 24th), Austin appealed the 19.5-year prison sentence.
Specifically, Cas admitted to dealing more than 280 grams of crack cocaine, five kilograms of cocaine, one kilogram of heroin, and over 100 kilograms of marijuana along with 16 other members of the gang, including Naya Austin.
The charges reflect a widespread and profitable drug operation throughout New York State, and Casanova’s guilty plea suggests that he played a crucial role in the gang’s illegal activities.
The consequences for these crimes are likely to be severe, and it remains to be seen how the court will sentence Casanova for his involvement in the drug trafficking operation.
Casanova’s sentencing date has been pushed back to April 26th, 2023.

Kid Cudi is no longer working with Travis Scott on a collaborative album.
The rapper, real name Scott Mescudi, and the “Sicko Mode” hitmaker released a joint track titled The Scotts in April 2020, and the following year, Kid Cudi announced that a full-length album was in the works.
But during a Q&A session held on Twitter, the star admitted that the project had been halted when a fan asked whether the record was “still on the cards.”
Playboi Carti has been teasing his fans on Twitter with the possibility of new music.
He took to Twitter today, on Christmas, and he wrote simply, “love all my supporters it’s time,” leading fans to speculate about him dropping a new album.
If this were to happen, it would be his third studio album and the first since the release of Whole Lotta Red in December 2020.
Fans of Playboi Carti are going wild with assumptions because his message of “it’s time” falls on the same day as the release of “Whole Lotta Red,” which dropped on December 25th, 2022.
This has led many to believe that the rapper plans to unleash another album as a Christmas gift for his fans. And if history is an indicator, Playboi Carti’s fans will be snapping up his new music and starting off his 2023 with a hit record.
While there has been no official confirmation from Playboi Carti or his team, the prospect of new music has fans on the edge of their seats.
Whether or not “it’s time” refers to a new album from the rapper remains to be seen, but one thing is sure: Playboi Carti’s fans anxiously await updates or announcements about new music. The tweet racked up almost 10 million views on Twitter and garnered at least 15,000 comments.
‘Twas Christmas Day and a variety of rappers were all excited to show off the gifts they received on social media.
Cardi B showed off her many Christmas trees with a mountain of presents underneath. But the gift she appeared to love the most this year was the gift of family. The rap star posted pictures of her husband, Offset, enjoying time with his kids and the two children they share together, Kulture and Waveset.
“You will think the older they get the easier it will be to take these pictures!😒😒😒😒…….Anyways MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄🎁 🖤,” Cardi B captioned her post.
Gucci Mane managed to get into the Christmas spirit despite the recent death of his friend and 1017 artist, Big Scarr. The Atlanta rapper had two special occasions to bring him joy. He celebrated his son Ice Davis’ birthday with his wife Keyshia Ka’oir Davis on December 23rd.
On Christmas, Gucci, rocking his “Ice Dad” pajama set and Keyshia were excited to show off the pricey gift set she bought him: a massive diamond necklace with baguettes and rounded diamonds, along with a matching bracelet. The best gift, however, is undoubtedly the new baby the couple is expecting.
Latto, also a Christmas baby, set things off with a sizzling hot photoshoot to celebrate her birthday on one of the coldest winters on record. The “Big Energy” rapper, born on December 22nd, also celebrated her birthday and Christmas with an intimate dinner with some close friends.

As the holiday season approached, Macon rapper Baby Jungle and his record label Guap Records spread some much-needed cheer to the Bibb County jail by bailing out 8 nonviolent offenders.
The inmates chosen by Major Eric Woodford were each given between $1,000 and $2,000 to reunite with their families just in time for the holidays.
Baby Jungle told WMAZ Channel 13 that he wanted to give these families a “second chance” and was delighted to see them “smile and be home with their family, be able to see their family for Christmas.”
Working pro bono on the project was Attorney Mahdi Abdur-Rahman, who said they simply wanted to do their part to help out during the festive season.
The inmates were grateful for the generous gesture, and Baby Jungle promised to do it again next year, vowing to give back to the city every time he reaches a new goal.
The remaining funds from the $15,000 will be used to bail out additional nonviolent offenders, who will also be treated to dinner at the Vibez restaurant downtown.
It’s heartwarming to see acts of kindness like this during the holiday season, bringing joy and hope to those who may have otherwise spent it behind bars.

The event aimed to support children in under-represented communities who may not have access to necessary resources such as counseling and medication.

“A lot of kids that’s living in these minority areas, they don’t have counseling,” the “Christmas in the Ghetto” rapper said. “They don’t have the right medication. Or they just don’t have the right people around to give them that love. So that’s what this is about today.”

On Christmas Eve, Brandon “Boogie B” Montrell, a 43-year-old New Orleans-born comedian, was killed in a shooting outside a grocery store in the city’s Central Business District.
It is believed that Montrell was not the intended target of the shooting, which occurred while sitting in a car in the parking lot of the Rouses Market on Baronne Street.

In a statement released by the family’s attorney to NOLA.com, Montrell’s mother, Sherilyn Price, said, “My son was not just the victim of a stray bullet. He’s the victim of decades of neglect that have left New Orleans’ youth with no hope for a future and with no real fear of consequences.”

Thanks to Meek Mill’s generous contribution, 20 women at the Riverside Correctional Facility are now free on bail.
Five of these women were able to spend Christmas Eve with their loved ones, and the remaining 15 will be released in the coming week with the help of the REFORM Alliance.
“It was devastating for me to be away from my son during the holidays when I was incarcerated, so I understand what these women and their families are going through,” Meek Mill told the Philly Voice in a statement..
“No one should have to spend the holidays in jail simply because they can’t afford bail. I’m grateful for the opportunity to help these women be with their families and loved ones during this special time of year,” Meek Mill said.
As a special treat, each of the women will also receive a gift card to treat themselves to some much-needed groceries or gifts.
The journey of REFORM began when recording artist Meek Mill, co-founder Jay-Z, and billionaire philanthropist Michael Rubin, were moved to action after Meek was unfairly sentenced to two to four years in prison for popping a wheelie.
The #FreeMeek movement and his subsequent release on bail brought awareness to Meek’s case and eventually led to his freedom.
In an effort to bring about change and justice for all, this group of philanthropists and activists came together to launch REFORM Alliance on January 23, 2019.
The event, called “Eagle for a Day,” took place at the NovaCare Complex and allowed the children to sign one-day contracts with the team and receive their own jerseys.
What a heartwarming and uplifting way to end the year!

The photos, which also showed Lizzo wearing a thong, quickly went viral along with her XXX-mas message: “CMON AND SLIDE DOWN MY CHIMNEY.”
Rapper Cardi B sent a flirty reply to singer Lizzo on social media after seeing the racy photos.
The message, which read “I want to lick you,” was in response to the series of racy photos that Lizzo had posted online.
Fans of the two artists were quick to react to the exchange, with many expressing their approval and admiration for the playful banter between the two celebrities.
“Very lgbt,” one user wrote, while another said “I thought CardiB is married?”
Some even speculated that the message could be the start of a new romance, as the two have previously shown support for each other on social media.
While it’s unclear at this time if the message was meant to be taken seriously or was simply a bit of fun between friends, it’s clear that Cardi B and Lizzo have a close and playful relationship.
Regardless of the true intentions behind the message, fans of both artists are sure entertained by the exchange.
Dionne Warwick wants to have a conversation with Twitter chief executive Elon Musk.
In recent years, the music icon has built up a reputation for sharing her views on the platform, with some publications even labeling her the “Queen of Twitter.”
But in a new interview with People, Dionne expressed concern over new Twitter boss Elon, who acquired the social media company in October.
“I have to meet him. I know a lot of people have walked away from Twitter. That’s prior to knowing exactly what he’s going to do. He’s new to the game,” the 82-year-old said. “His attitude is freedom of speech, which is mine as well. However, there’s a way to do it. That’s one of the conversations I’m going to have with him. What is your true intent? I understand your freedom of speech attitude but how are you going to contain it, so it does not get out of hand?”
Since taking over Twitter, Elon has been criticized over his plans to introduce new features to the site, with some users concerned his calls for greater free speech may lead to a rise in misinformation and harassment.
And earlier this week, the business magnate even conducted a poll asking followers whether he should resign from his position, claiming that he would “abide by the results.”
Approximately 58 percent of users voted in favor of him exiting, however, on Monday, he announced that only Twitter Blue subscribers – those who pay for the verified blue tick – will be able to vote on polls about policy changes in the future.
Meanwhile, Dionne is promoting her new documentary “Dionne Warwick: Don’t Make Me Over.”

Lil Boosie is known as a rap artist and a favorite on social media, but he’s also a burgeoning movie director. The Baton Rouge artist said he would be open to craft a movie based on the real life legal exploits of Young Thug and his YSL Records
Boosie has been an ardent supporter of Young Thug and YSL and would certainly give them fair and unbalanced reporting if he were to document their plight.
Boosie BadAzz, frequently targeted for social media “Where’s MJ,” which hits on Christmas Day. The film was directed, written, and produced by the controversial artist and his team at Boosie BadAzz Productions. The movie plot is like the classic movie “Home Alone,” but seen through a Black lens. It stars Actor/Comedian, Desi Banks, Grove Hero, Tootie Raww (Boosie’s Son), Boosie and many others. The instant hood classic even boasts special appearances by legendary Public Enemy hype man, Flavor Flav and the late Atlanta rapper, Trouble.
However, Boosie already is pondering his next move, which may include ongoing RICO case of Young Thug and YSL versus the City of Atlanta. The rapper has been
“I’ll document it. I’ll shoot the film,” Boosie told AllHipHop at the film’s premier at Clark Atlanta University. “Free all them boys. I don’t want nobody in there.”
Boosie also mentioned freedom for YFN Lucci, a rap artist that claims Young Thug’s YSL tentacles attempted to murder him inside of the Fulton County Jail. Lucci, like Thugger, is now incarcerated on RICO charges that include murder.
Boosie is not incumbered by these legal matters and the content of “Where’s MJ,” is a project oozing in hood entrepreneurship and community support.
Boosie closed the evening by thanking everyone, and then presenting Clark Atlanta University with a check for $15,000 for their contributions to his cinematic pursuits.
Where’s MJ is a fun filled slapstick style of comedy that is set within a multiverse of hood antics and Hip Hop themed scenarios. There is no shortage of laughter with this BadAzz production.
According to TMZ, Big Scarr’s family has revealed that he died from an overdose of prescription pills.
Big Scarr’s uncle told the website that the rapper had faced numerous difficult experiences in his life, including being shot and experiencing a severe car accident injury, which may have led to his reliance on the prescription medication that ultimately caused his overdose.
Born Alexander Wood, Big Scarr was signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records label and was known for his hit project, Big Grim Reaper, and collaborations with label mates Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano.
He was also set to join fellow Memphis native Key Glock on his upcoming “Glockoma” tour.
News of Big Scarr’s death circulated on social media on Thursday night and was later confirmed by Gucci Mane in an Instagram post.
Harlem rapper Jim Jones has released a new holiday album on his VL label and it might just be a Christmas classic, rivaling his other Christmas albums “A Dipset Xmas” and “A Tribute to Bad Santa Starring Mike Epps.”
Titled “VL: 12 Days of Xmas,” the album opens with Capo’s latest protégé, comedian Rayy Rayy. Not only is the Bronx native out on social media make the hood crack up and, on this album, tripling as a comedian, rapper, and narrator, but he is New York Chop Cheese aficionado, telling AllHipHop.com’s Nikki Duncan-Smith that Harlem makes the best sandwiches and explaining exactly how they should be made.
Rayy Rayy narrates the entire album debuting as one of the most hilarious young voices to come out of the outer boroughs, which is probably why Jim Jones signed him.
“VL: 12 Days of Xmas provides a wide variety of sounds that caters to almost any sound,” a rep for the VL team explains.
“’Xmas Eve’ featuring Dyce Payso and Tim Vocals provides a timely holiday piano-based instrumental over cheerful vocals from Cover Cod,” she continued, before sharing that “ ’Big Gifts’ featuring Ditta, Lord Ju, and Onpoint Like OP gives the album a signature New York Drill sound with a blend of Christmas caroling in the production from WillPower and Erxss.”
Check out the exclusive interview he did for AllHipHop.com and fall into the holiday mode with this excellent project.
