A$AP Relli Shooting Lawsuit On Hold Until A$AP Rocky Criminal Case Is Settled

A$AP Rocky and A$AP Relli reached a deal to pause the latter’s lawsuit over an alleged shooting.

According to Radar Online, the civil suit won’t move forward until there’s a resolution in the criminal case against A$AP Rocky. The 34-year-old rapper was charged with two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm in August.

Prosecutors accused A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, of shooting at A$AP Relli during a confrontation in November 2021. The RCA Records artist pleaded not guilty to assault charges.

A$AP Relli, whose real name is Terell Ephron, came forward as the victim of the alleged shooting in August. He filed a lawsuit against his former friend over the incident.

Joe Tacopina, who represents A$AP Rocky, accused A$AP Relli of extortion. The lawyer claimed A$AP Relli tried to attack his client during the incident that occurred in November 2021.

“[Relli] was trying to get money from Rocky,” Tacopina told Rolling Stone. “He wanted Rocky to support him. He made it clear. There were repeated attempts where he tried to ask for money in lieu of not causing problems for Rocky. That’s what he said. We have all this memorialized in text messages and otherwise, so it’s an extortion.”

A$AP Rocky could face up to nine years in prison if convicted as charged. A preliminary hearing in his criminal case is scheduled to take place in January 2023.

Don’t expect 50 Cent to create a new album anytime soon.

50 Cent discussed why he hasn’t recorded a follow-up to his 2014 album Animal Ambition in an interview with PEOPLE. The G-Unit boss said he turned his attention to television as his fan base grew older.

“I mean, I really enjoy the music,” he noted. “But the audience is changing. My core audience was in college in 2003. They’re grown now and they may have the drink that you would have in the nightclub in the privacy of their home now. They are my television viewership now. That’s who’s watching.”

50 Cent told PEOPLE he still works on new ideas for songs. But these days, the music he crafts will be used for his film and TV projects.

Over the past eight years, 50 Cent has built his own TV empire. He produced the hit series Power, which spawned multiple spin-offs on Starz. His other shows include the Starz series BMF, ABC’s legal drama For Life and WE tv’s docuseries Hip Hop Homicides.

50 Cent is also developing Fightland, a new scripted series for Starz. The boxing drama was the last show he pitched to Starz before his deal with the network ended in September.

Kanye West Fans Confused After He’s Immortalized In “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” Film

Kanye West seems to be on almost everyone’s “naughty list” this year, so it came as a surprise to see him essentially immortalized in the film Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. The Rian Johnson-directed film—the follow-up to 2019’s Knives Out—initially arrived in September. But once the movie became available via Netflix on December 23, some savvy viewers noticed an eerie similarity between a painting of a prophet and Ye.

On Monday (December 26), the Twitter account @yefanatics shared a clip of the scene in which Edward Norton is standing in front of what appears to be a painting of West draped in a robe while holding a chalice in one hand and torch in the other. The caption read simply: “Kanye West appears in the movie Knives Out Glass Onion.”

Comments such as, “Do you think that’s Kanye?” and “Saw that and was confused, prophet YE” started flooding the post. Meanwhile, another viewer wanted to know: “Uhm…On Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, is this Kanye West?” It was a sentiment echoed in several other tweets.

Filming for Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery began in September 2021, long before Kanye West sputtered a series of anti-Semitic comments and became Public Enemy No. 1 in the process. The new film finds Daniel Craig reprising his role as master detective Benoit Blanc in addition to an ensemble cast including Janelle Monáe, Kate Hudson and Dave Bautista.

It originally premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and began a one-week limited theatrical release last month. It received the widest theatrical release ever for a Netflix film and grossed $15 million against a $40 million budget.

Takeoff Murder Suspect Seeks Another Bond Reduction

Attorneys representing Takeoff’s alleged killer want a judge to lower the murder suspect’s bond.

According to multiple reports, Patrick Clark’s lawyers appeared in court to pursue a second bond reduction for their client on Tuesday (December 27). His bond is currently set at $1 million, but his attorneys hope to get it lowered to $300,000.

Clark’s bond was originally set at $2 million after he was arrested for Takeoff’s murder. Clark’s lawyers requested a bond reduction, arguing that $2 million was excessive. A judge lowered it to $1 million.

Attorneys for Clark believe his bond is still too high. They expect him to be released if Judge Josh Hill reduces the bond to $300,000.

Judge Hill raised concerns about Clark being a flight risk. The judge scheduled another bond hearing for Wednesday (December 28).

Letitia Quinones, one of Clark’s lawyers, said his family is prepared to cover his bond if it’s reduced to $300,000. Quinones thinks her client could be released 24-48 hours after the next hearing.

Clark, 33, was charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Takeoff. Clark was taken into custody on December 1.

Takeoff was shot and killed at a bowling alley in Houston on November 1. The Migos member was 28.

Diddy Unveils His Baby’s Face To The World

Diddy allowed fans to see his daughter Love’s face on Tuesday (December 27).

The Bad Boy Records founder posted two pictures of his baby on Instagram. Diddy shared close-up shots of his daughter after his followers got a glimpse of her in the Hip Hop mogul’s family Christmas photo.

Love was born in October, but Diddy didn’t publicly reveal her birth until December. The mother of his child is a woman named Dana Tran.

Diddy’s relationship with Yung Miami became a topic of conversation since he fathered a child with another woman. Akademiks and Yung Miami’s old foe Gina Huynh trolled the City Girls member after learning about Love’s birth.

Akademiks called Yung Miami a side chick, which she denied. The two clashed online before Diddy addressed the matter on Twitter.

“@yungmiami305 is not my side chick,” he wrote. “Never has been, never will be. She’s very important and special to me, and I don’t play about my Shawty Wop. I don’t discuss things on the internet and I will not start today.”

Yung Miami discussed her situation with Diddy on her Caresha Please podcast. The Quality Control rapper said she wasn’t blindsided by his baby news.

“I think communication is the key,” she explained. “I feel like when you dealing with somebody, communication is the key. It wasn’t a surprise.”

Cousin Stizz Concert Shooting: Sony Ordered To Pay $160 Million After Being Found Partially Responsible

A DeKalb County jury ruled that Sony Music Holdings should pay $160 million in damages for failing to protect concertgoers at a 2017 show featuring rapper Cousin Stizz.

On December 15th, Sony was ordered to pay a massive amount over a shooting in Underground Atlanta, resulting in two attendees’ deaths.

On that fateful night of November 12th, 2017, disaster struck as a gunman stormed into the concert venue and indiscriminately opened fire on the unsuspecting crowd.

Amidst the chaos and pandemonium, four innocent concertgoers were struck by bullets, two of whom, Giovan Diaz and Ewell Ynoa, tragically lost their lives to their fatal wounds.

As the main act prepared to take the stage, the venue was filled with screams and gunfire, leaving many to wonder if they would make it out alive.

For Diaz and Ynoa, their promising futures in the music industry were cut short instantly. The shooter, 25-year-old Jonathan Bautista, was later identified by police.

The verdict came after a trial that included two other consolidated cases also suing Sony on similar grounds.

The lawsuit, filed by the Beasley Allen Law Firm in June 2018, named Sony, its record label RCA Records, and concert venues Live Nation and Masquerade as defendants.

There were multiple deaths, and Gio and Wells suffered significantly before losing their fight for life, as eyewitnesses outlined. The trial was incredibly emotional because of what these families, and the world, lost. One of these men had been told he would be a father just a few hours before the shooting happened. Combine that with the fact the concert endangered everyone, and this Defendant refused to participate in the legal process, and you get the type of verdict we saw here,” Beasley Allen Atlanta lawyer Parker Miller explained.

The funds will be used to compensate the victims’ families. Sony has not yet commented on the verdict.

It seems Kanye West’s actions, including his recent anti-Semitic rants, have caused concern for ex-wife Kim Kardashian as she moves on with her life and attempts to find love again.

In a recent interview on the Angie Martinez IRL Podcast, Kardashian spoke about her relationship with comedian Pete Davidson while in the midst of her divorce from West, the father of her four children.

West had previously made negative comments about Davidson on social media during his relationship with Kardashian.

“(Dating) was just so new,” she began. “I didn’t know what dating was for so long. I’d been in a relationship for almost 15 years, 12 years, something like that. I don’t know, there’s a part of me that’s like, ‘Oh my God, is everyone going to be scared because I don’t have the easiest ex?’ I don’t think that’s fair for me to ever put someone in a situation or bring a new person in that could be super innocent. But then there’s a side of me that’s like, Why would I ever have to live that way?'”

The 42-year-old also mentioned, while she’s currently in her “fun zone,” she hopes her future partner will be able to handle her past and all of the associated baggage.

“I don’t know if I’ll get married again, but I’ll have my forever partner,” she added. “I know that. He’s coming, absolutely. I’m at peace and I’m gonna have fun until that happens.”

Kardashian noted she has learned to show “restraint” in the face of West’s controversial online outbursts, as she doesn’t want to engage in public online arguments.

She emphasized she feels free and has a “deep sense of calm” and therefore doesn’t want to waste energy “deflecting every ridiculous thing that is said about me, even if it’s from the person that was closest” to her.

Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February 2021, and the divorce was finalized in November.

The settlement left West on the hook for $2.4 million per year in child support, with a requirement to wire $200,000 to Kim’s account on the first of every month.

The former couple divided their assets based on the terms of their prenuptial agreement and waived spousal support. They also agreed to joint custody of their four children and committed to participating in mediation to resolve any issues that may arise involving their children. If one party fails to participate in the mediation, the other party wins by default.

Former United States president/current 2024 presidential candidate Donald Trump did not end 2022 on a high note. One of Trump’s harshest critics, comedian D.L. Hughley, wants even more legal woes for the ex-commander-in-chief in the coming years.

The United States House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack recently recommended that the Justice Department pursue criminal charges against Donald Trump for his connection to the 2021 U.S. Capitol insurrection.

Federal prosecutors have not officially indicted Trump with any crimes associated with January 6. However, D.L. Hughley calls for authorities to charge the right-wing Republican politician with several counts.

D.L. Hughley Says Donald Trump Supporters Will Never Believe He’s Guilty

“I think that everybody who believes he’s guilty will, will, and the people who are trying to argue that he’s not, they won’t believe it no matter what. The hardest people to try to convince are Trump fans and Kanye fans,” D.L. Hughley told TMZ.

Hughley had a highly-publicized feud with longtime Trump supporter Kanye “Ye” West earlier this year. During his interview outside LAX airport, The Original Kings of Comedy star turned his attention back to Donald Trump and the January 6 siege.

A Capitol Police Officer Died After Being Pepper-Sprayed During The Riots

“If [Trump] isn’t indicted – an indictment doesn’t mean a conviction – but if he isn’t indicted it will speak volumes about our legal system. Stop saying out loud that nobody is above the law because clearly, they are,” stated D.L. Hughley.

The D.L. Hughley Morning Show host also added, “From espionage to f###### sedition to tampering with elections. You name it, he’s done it. I think [Trump] should be charged with manslaughter for that cop that died even though it wasn’t [at] the event.”

Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick, 42, died from suffering multiple strokes days after the insurrection. Two men reportedly assaulted Sicknick with pepper spray during the attack on the building. The Capitol Police agency still insists Sicknick died in the line of duty while trying to defend Congress.

The Department of Justice has already convicted numerous defendants for various crimes linked to the January 6 coup attempt. For example, Richmond-based rapper, Bugzie The Don, received a five-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to four misdemeanor counts.

Donald Trump maintains he did not incite the crowd at his Washington, DC rally on January 6 to storm the Capitol that day. Boosie Badazz has become one of the most controversial figures in modern-day Hip Hop culture. His personal opinions about Lil Nas X and Dwyane Wade’s family angered many social media users. Apparently, Boosie has heat with some important people at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena as well.

“I need Trae Young, [John] Collins, [Dejounte] Murray, the Atlanta Hawks to go talk to the NBA security because they say if I talk to players or the coaches, from now on, they gonna put me out,” claimed Boosie in a self-filmed video posted to the internet.

The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native added, “I pay good money to sit where I sit. That ain’t right. I just can’t sit down the whole game and not say nothing. I’m ADHD. I need the Hawks to tell them I’m good people. I’m not bothering the coaches. I’m motivation.”

Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young got wind of Boosie Badazz’s online request. The 2018 Big 12 Freshman Of The Year/two-time NBA All-Star responded to the 40-year-old rhymer’s public appeal on Twitter.

“Nahhh man😂 we not gonna do this to Boosie now. Bro be chillin most games with family.🤔🙄Heard 11x worse things being said to players & coaches [than] how he be talkin. Lol Thanks for the support! @BOOSIEOFFICIAL,” tweeted Young on Monday.

While Boosie Badazz has the backing of the fifth-year professional basketball player, at least one NBA legend is likely not rooting for the outspoken rapper. Three-time NBA Champion Dwyane Wade became a target of Boosie after Wade publicly embraced his teenage transgender daughter.

The feud between Boosie Badazz and the Wade family included D-Wade’s wife, Gabrielle Union, blasting Boosie for his comments about Zaya Wade. Last year, Union stated, “It’s almost like ‘thou doth protest too much Lil Boose’. You got a lot of dick on your mind.” 

Boosie fired back at Gabrielle Union by tweeting, “The whole world know I love women [and] the world know your husband love dick!! I hope [you] don’t think blacks look at yall like a power couple.😀They don’t!!”

Bobby Shmurda Calls Out Rappers For Making “Informant Music”

The topic of “snitching” is once again prevalent in Hip Hop culture at the moment. Formerly incarcerated rapper Bobby Shmurda weighed in on the topic during a recent Instagram Live session.

Bobby Shmurda’s IG address comes after Sergio “Gunna” Kitchens took a plea deal in an ongoing RICO case in Georgia. Gunna was among two dozen defendants in the case, including fellow YSL representative Yung Thug.

There have been different viewpoints about Gunna’s guilty plea. Some people – like Boosie and 6ix9ine – accused the DS4Ever album creator of betraying Young Thug. Gunna’s lawyer pushed back on that narrative, claiming his client did not snitch to get out of jail.

After Leaving Epic Records, Bobby Shmurda Is No Fan Of The Major Label System

Bobby Shmurda has now provided his own commentary about individuals in Hip Hop allegedly working with authorities. The “Hot N####” rapper extended the informer net much wider than just the Gunna situation.

“These n##### playing dress-up. These people are good kids. I don’t want to hear about no rapper talking no crazy s###,” said Shmurda. He added, “Y’all n##### are rats. You n##### are f###### informants. M############ are informants. Y’all make informant music.”

Bobby Shmurda went on to say 90% of the rappers signed to a major label are “hoes.” The Brooklyn native did sign with Epic Records before taking a plea deal in his own criminal conspiracy case in New York in 2016. He now releases music independently.

Shmurda Embraces Conspiracy Theory About Jay-Z’s Roc Nation

Additionally, Shmurda accused Roc Nation of hiring hackers in order to push a certain agenda. The unproven Roc Nation conspiracy became a major talking point of Tory Lanez supporters. A jury recently convicted Lanez of assaulting Megan Thee Stallion with a firearm.

Lanez’s family members essentially blamed Jay-Z and his Roc Nation management company for supposedly framing the Canadian rapper/singer. Many people online dismissed those vague claims of corruption.

“In 2023, if y’all don’t see me around no rappers, don’t be surprised,” stated Bobby Shmurda. “These n##### are off the chain. These n##### are taking you to jail, they’re reprogramming, they’re getting some more hackers to get on this s### and repost this s###, and make them feel like they’re big.”

Shmurda returned home from prison in February 2021. Since that time, the Bodboy EP landed in August of this year. Before his release, Shmurda teamed with eventual internet troll-turned-federal government witness 6ix9ine for the “Stoopid” single.

SZA’s ‘SOS’ Remains At No. 1 For A Second Week

Top Dawg Entertainment recording artist SZA maintains the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart. Her SOS studio LP leads the album rankings for a second straight week.

After opening with 318,000 units in its first week of release, SOS collected an additional 180,000 units in week two. SZA held off former No. 1, Midnights by Taylor Swift, which racked up 155,000 units during the tracking period.

SOS amassed 237 million on-demand streams over the course of the most recent week. Previously, SZA’s sophomore set broke the record for the largest all-time streaming week for an R&B album (404.6 million streams).

Five years after her debut LP Ctrl arrived, SZA released SOS on December 9. The 23-track album hosts guest appearances by Don Toliver, Phoebe Bridgers, Travis Scott, and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard.

“It was definitely like I doubt this gonna be allowed to be on the album, but it surprisingly was,” said SZA about the Ol’ Dirty Bastard collaboration on SOS.

The Missouri-born, New Jersey-raised performer added, “I talked to [the Ol’ Dirty Bastard Estate]. It really just came from a place of documentary footage from Rodney Jerkins. He was sweet enough to let me use that.”

The “Kill Bill” Performer Will Hit The Road In 2023

“Kill Bill” continues to find success on streaming platforms. The Pop/R&B single off SOS resides at #1 on Spotify’s Weekly Top Songs USA chart and Daily Top Songs USA chart as well as Apple Music’s Top 100: USA daily chart.

SOS follows 2017’s Ctrl. That project peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200. Ctrl did eventually spend 288 weeks on the chart and earn 3x-Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America.

North American fans of SZA will have the chance to see her live in concert beginning in February 2023 in Columbus, Ohio. The 33-year-old Grammy winner announced The S.O.S. Tour featuring opening act Omar Apollo.

Social Media Mocks Tory Lanez’s Family Blaming Jay-Z & Roc Nation For His Conviction

On December 23, a California jury convicted Daystar “Tory Lanez” Peterson of assault with a semiautomatic handgun, having a loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and gross negligence in discharging his firearm.

Those charges stemmed from a July 2020 shooting that injured Hip Hop star Megan Thee Stallion. The “Savage” hitmaker publicly accused Tory Lanez of firing a weapon at her on the night in question. Megan later testified against him at trial.

Los Angeles County prosecutors secured a guilty verdict against Lanez in the felony assault case. However, the Sorry 4 What album creator’s family immediately blamed the Jay-Z-founded Roc Nation company for the legal outcome.

Tory Lanez’s Dad Ignites Conspiracy Theories About Roc Nation

Roc Nation manages Megan Thee Stallion’s career. According to reports, representatives of the agency attended the trial. Lanez’s father, Sonstar Peterson, lashed out at Roc Nation after the court revealed the guilty verdicts.

“I’ll tell you exactly how I feel. I got some names I wanna call out,” said Sonstar Peterson outside the courthouse last week. “[Attorney] Alex Spiro, [Roc Nation CEO] Desiree Perez, and the whole wicked system of Roc Nation, including you, Jay-Z.” 

Sonstar Peterson also speculated that Roc Nation’s alleged animosity to Tory Lanez is because the rapper/singer refused to sign a deal with the record label. As of press time, no one has presented any evidence proving that claim.

Media Figures Joke About Roc Nation Causing Different Types Of Issues

Many people on social media did not buy into the Roc Nation conspiracy theory. Over the last several days, Twitter users clowned the idea that Jay-Z’s company somehow manipulated the judge, jury, and the entire judicial system in order to imprison Tory Lanez.

Cocktails with Queens host Claudia Jordan has been one of the most outspoken supporters of Megan Thee Stallion and a vocal critic of Tory Lanez. The former The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member mocked Sonstar Peterson’s conspiratorial defense of his son.

“Flights are thru the roof…. d##### Jay-Z and d##### #RocNation yall did it again,” tweeted Claudia Jordan. Hip Hop media figure DJ Vlad responded to Jordan by writing, “I heard Roc Nation was behind global warming. And the pandemic.”

Nightly Pop presenter Nina Parker offered her own take on the supposed Roc Nation scheme to frame Tory Lanez. She tweeted, “Half the people who work for Roc Nation can’t even get into the Roc Nation brunch but sure they have control over LA superior court.”

Diddy Announces The Arrival Of His Daughter

Diddy fans were stunned when he announced his newest child without warning in early December. 

“I’m so blessed to welcome my baby girl Love Sean Combs to the world,” Diddy wrote on social media announcing the news. “Mama Combs, Quincy, Justin, Christian, Chance, D’Lila, Jessie, and myself all love you so much! God is the Greatest!” 

Word spread like wildfire, and soon people began speculating about Diddy’s relationship with his “Shawty Wop,” Yung Miami.

NLE Choppa paid a special Christmas visit to one of his young fans in hospital, making the little boy’s dreams come true. 

The Memphis rapper shared a video of the holiday visit and explained how he connected with AJ and the reason for his hospital visit. The 12-year-old suffers from scoliosis and a rare birth defect of the heart called truncus arteriosus type 1.

“After watching the video, I got in contact with his mom and from there I was facetiming him and messaging him every day,” NLE Choppa explained in a voiceover. “Christmas was coming around the corner so I decided to grant all his wishes by buying him all the gifts he had asked for. I even flew out to Texas to go surprise him at the hospital.” 

NLE Choppa Surprises His “Biggest Fan”

As the video shows, NLE Choppa pulled up to the hospital with a truck full of gifts, including every item on AJ’s Christmas wish list. The “Do It Again” hitmaker arrived in full Santa costume and beard to surprise his young fan. As well as the PS5, iPhone 13, sneakers, and clothes on the list, NLE also added a few surprise presents.  

Despite being from different generations, NLE Choppa revealed AJ’s story made a lasting impression on him. 

“With artistry and music you start to gain friends or gain people that you never woulda thought you would,” NLE Choppa said before visiting AJ. “There’s certain people you pick up on your journey? He’s one of those ones so this is the start of a friendship that I wanna carry in my heart and just carry for the rest of my life. So, ‘You got a friend in me,’ that’s all I want him to know.”

Kim Kardashian Opens Up About Co-Parenting With Kanye West

Kim Kardashian discussed how she deals with the fallout from Kanye West’s rants during the latest episode of the Angie Martinez IRL podcast.  

“I definitely protected him [Kanye] and I still will in the eyes of my kids — for my kids. So in my home, my kids don’t know anything that goes on in the outside world,” Kim Kardashian explained. 

However, the SKIMS founder acknowledged she won’t be able to keep it up forever.  

“I’m holding on by a thread. I know I’m like so close to that not happening, but while it’s still that way, I will protect that to the end of the earth for as long as I can,” Kim promised.  

When Angie asked how she is able to keep the children away from the controversy, Kim said she keeps tabs on what’s going on at their school.  

“Some of my best friends are the teachers, so I know what goes on at recess and lunchtime.” 

Kim became visibly upset after mentioning her late father, Robert Kardashian.  

“I had the best dad,” she said tearfully. “I don’t want to get too emotional, but it’s just been a day for me.” 

Wiping tears from her eyes, she continued. “I had the best dad and I had the best memories and the greatest experience. That’s all I want for my kids as long as long as they can have it, that’s all I want for them,” Kim added. “If they don’t know things that are being said or what’s happening in the world, why would I ever bring that energy to them?”

Fat Joe Declares Tems’ ‘Free Mind’ Song Of The Year

Fat Joe said of all the songs he listened to in 2022, the best of them all came from Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer Tems with her breakthrough hit, “Free Mind.” 

The NYC icon hopped on Instagram Live this weekend with a 2022 year-end recap and began the session with “Free Mind” playing in the background.  

“It’s the biggest in the game,” he stated before adding, “I played this because to me, this is the song of the year.

Tems – Free Mind

While the track may be Fat Joe’s favorite song of 2022, Tems released “Free Mind,” back in September 2020. The track featured on her debut EP, For Broken Ears, but began to make an impact earlier this year.  

The slow and steady build paid off, as “Free Mind” reached No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay after a 33 week long climb. According to Billboard, the feat is “the second-longest climb to the summit in the chart’s 30-year history.” 

Tems launched into the mainstream after featuring on Wizkid’s smash hit “Essence,” earning her a Grammy nomination. She gained another two Grammy nods with her appearance on Future’s “Wait for U,” alongside Drake.  

She also hit the headlines in October after co-writing Rihanna’s comeback single “Lift Me Up” from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever original soundtrack. 

Gracing the cover of Dazed recently, Tems revealed she hopes to usher in a new image of the African woman. Despite her empowering message, some fans pushed back against the raunchy shoot, prompting Tems to clarify, “I am not your Christian savior.” 

Big Sean Dons Santa Suit For First Christmas With Newborn Son With Jhené Aiko

This Christmas was extra special for Big Sean after his long-time love Jhené Aiko gave birth to their first child together last month.  

The Detroit native threw himself into the holiday spirit, bringing festive cheer to the whole family. He took to Instagram on Sunday evening (Dec. 26) with a carousel of Christmas family photos. Big Sean dressed up as Santa Claus, and Jhené Aiko joined him in a Santa’s helper costume, as did the rest of the ladies in the family, while the men donned reindeer suits.  

However, the star of the show was their newborn, who was lovingly cradled by the rapper’s mother, Myra Anderson in each photo.

Earlier this month, Big Sean sparked rumors that he and Jhené Aiko tied the knot in secret. The “What a Life” hitmaker took to social media to tease new music, sharing a video from a studio session.  

“Listening back to my Verse i did for my brother @abdashsoul when i recorded it,” Big Sean tweeted. However, one of the lyrics got fans speculating that he and Jhené got married in private.  

“How many friends I got to have my casket carried outside?/Probably not as many would stand and watch me married outside,” Big Sean rapped as he pointed to a wedding band on his ring finger.

Brownstone Member Removes Tory Lanez Awards in Support of Megan Thee Stallion

Nicci Gilbert, a member of the R&B group Brownstone, has taken a stand over violence against women by taking down her awards with Tory Lanez.

In protest, Gilbert decided to take down the plaques she earned after Tory sampled Brownstone’s 1994 hit song “If You Love Me” for his 2015 debut single “Say It.”

In a recent wordy Instagram post, Gilbert expressed her respect for the jury’s decision against Tory, who was found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion after a party in the Hollywood hills in July of 2020 during a drunken argument.

While Gilbert expressed sympathy for Tory Lanez’s children and family, she also clarified that she is on Megan’s side and believes her allegations.

She stated, “I’m taking these awards down in protest of violence against women. I will not tolerate it under any circumstances.”

Gilbert said, “It’s a shame that our community is so broken that we relentlessly attack victims, but I get it. Hurt people hurt people.”

Gilbert believes this victory was a win for all victims and hopes it sends a strong message. She said she also prayed for Tory as an advocate for artists and creatives.

Nicci Gilbert acknowledged that Tory, as a young black man who achieved fame quickly, may not have had the necessary emotional intelligence and development to handle such success.

She believes he made a poor decision, but she hopes he will come out of this experience as a better man and artist.

Gilbert also wants the entertainment industry to use this situation to prioritize artist development and overall wellness.

“The artists you see as a windfall are falling hard, and the impact on our community is devastating. Artists have too much access to too many people, who are triggered in one way or another by their successes and failures,” Gilbert remarked.

Gilbert also mentioned that she is still waiting on paperwork from 2015 regarding returning money from the “Say It” single.

Tory Lanez was convicted of assault with a semiautomatic firearm; carrying a loaded, unregistered gun in a vehicle; and discharging a firearm with gross negligence on December 23rd, 2022.

Tory is facing up to 22 years in prison when he is sentenced in January of 2023.

Petition Calls for Appeal of Tory Lanez Verdict And Perjury Charges For Megan Thee Stallion And Kelsey Harris

A petition is being circulated to appeal the verdict in the case of Tory Lanez, who was recently found guilty of all charges related to shooting Megan thee Stallion.

The petition on Change.org claims that the state did not provide sufficient evidence to prove that Tory Lanez committed a crime and that the trial was filled with inconsistencies and speculation.

Additionally, the petition suggests that there may have been other potential suspects who were not fully investigated and that witnesses gave inconsistent and contradictory testimony.

The creator of the petition, Yasin Toure’, accuses the rapper, born Megan Pete, of lying in her account of the events and that she was allowed to promote a narrative without Tory Lanez being able to speak.

In February of 2021, a judge ruled that Tory Lanez could not speak publicly about the case.

The rapper was jailed on a $350,000 dollar bail in April, after he was accused of violating the protective order when he addressed the situation on his Twitter account.

Meanwhile, shortly after his arrest, Megan appeared on Gayle King for a high profile interview with the Houston rapper.

During the interview, a tearful Megan blamed Tory and told Gayle about what led to the shooting following the pool party at Kylie Jenner’s house in the Hollywood Hills on July 12th, 2020.

“Megan Pete has been allowed from day 1 to promote a narrative without Tory able to speak once. She campaigned, building a career gaining soldiers including celebrity and political supporters,” the petition reads

The petition implies that Megan and Kelsey Harris committed perjury on the stand and question why they had not been brought up on charges by the state.

“Meg and Kelsey lied about violently fighting that night. Meg lied about being intimate, arguing in the car, being extremely drunk and about why she was asked to leave the party,” the petition reads.

“There is a witness that says, “THE GIRL shot first” and he was asked repeatedly in different ways and maintained the same answer. Plus Megan, the victim, lied on Gayle King, on her IG lives and in interviews. She also went from stating, she didn’t know who did it and that her back was turned, to “You shot me”. Her story then progressed to that she saw him do it when she turned around. Later, that she turned her neck, seeing it from the side,” according to the Chang.org petition.

Tory Lanez could face 22 years in prison and deportation when he is sentenced in January of 2023.

So far, his team of high-powered lawyers have yet to reveal if he plans to appeal the verdict.
