Drake Beats Lawsuit Over Beer-Fueled Injury At “Rowdy” Concert

Drake, aka Champagne Papi, will be popping bottles of bubbly this weekend after coming out on top of a case where bottle popping almost cost him a grip.

Drake’s team is celebrating a recent legal win that a New York judge has handed him by dismissing a case stemming from a 2016 concert at Madison Square Garden, where a woman named Amanda Giovacco claimed she was injured at the performance and the “Certified Lover Boy” was at fault.

The woman filed her lawsuit in July 2019, claiming she “was violently struck by a beer bottle thrown while attending Drake’s concert. Giovacco said she was maliciously and subjected to a battery without just cause or provocation.

Giovacco’s legal team suggested that the defendants ignored the “aggressive and/or violent behavior at the concert” and that since “they knew Drake has a history of violence at his concerts,” security and staff at the venue should have been more alert.

She said she suffered a traumatic brain injury and seizures from getting hit in the head and said it stopped her from attending medical school.

According to Radar Online, Judge Paul A. Goetz dismissed Amanda Giovacco’s claim against the artist, Live Nation, Madison Square Garden, and Joseph Picco, an MSG employee, on Friday.

This ruling affirms that none of the defendants were at fault for her injuries.

Court filings stated, “defendants had no duty to plaintiff and plaintiff’s mother’s testimony that the crowd was extremely rowdy when Drake was on stage is insufficient to create an issue of fact.”

The court document also said the woman “failed to make a prima facie showing of negligence by defendants” and that her claims are “unsupported by a statement of undisputed facts” and “failed to meet her burden with regard to spoliation.”

With this ruling, none of the accused is responsible for paying for Giovacco’s alleged injuries or medical damages.

NBC Sports TV Host Jake McGrady is Breaking into the Music Industry

Jake McGrady found success as one of the most influential televisions and podcast personalities in Portland. Now, he’s focused on one thing: the music industry.

Jake ‘Mr. Portland’ McGrady had no idea that one day he would have created a career for himself in television, podcasting, and social media. The Portland native graduated from Oregon State University in 2016 with a degree in marketing and broadcasting and he hasn’t slowed down since.  In Portland, there is one thing that the city cares about more than just about anything else: the Portland Trail Blazers.

Jake has been able to successfully build a career in media that was fueled by his passion for Rip City through his Mr. Portland personal on social media. His network of followers/fans has watched his career evolve from hosting the ‘Beaver Sports TV Show’ and ‘2nd String Sports’ radio show in college, to hosting an NBA talk show on NBC Sports Northwest.

In 2018, Jake joined the cast of Blazers Outsiders, bringing his NBA Twitter personality onto television screens, covering the Trail Blazers, NBA news, and providing pop culture commentary.

In addition to the TV show, Jake continued to grow in the sports media scene with his ‘2nd String’ podcast. What started as the ‘2nd String Sports’ radio show that Jake founded at Oregon State had now become one of Portland’s #1 podcasts. Initially, the podcast grew as a sports talk show with Portland Trail Blazers commentary which attracted Jake’s Mr. Portland following.

Through the podcast, Jake has found a passion and talent for interviewing. The trio of hosts has gone on to interview the likes of Mike Barrett, Lamar Hurd, Meyers Leonard, Anfernee Simons, and many other athletes, coaches, and sports media personalities.

As the podcast grew a larger fanbase, so did Jake’s vision for himself and the direction of the show. The podcast rebranded from 2nd String Sports to 2nd String Show, ditching ‘sports’ from the name as the trio pivoted towards a broader audience of pop culture and entertainment.

If there is one thing Jake is just as passionate about as he is with the Portland Trail Blazers, it’s music. McGrady has now started to grow his resume on the music scene, interviewing guests on his show such as Grammy Award-winning band Portugal. the Man, Grammy-nominated rapper/singer iLoveMakonnen, and music industry photographer and social media personality Jake Chamseddine

In 2021, Jake joined the RapTV team as a social strategist and @rap TikTok lead, helping create content for the largest hip-hop community in the world over a network of accounts accumulating 25+ million followers.

2022 is gearing up to be a big year for the media personality as Jake plans to really make a splash in the music industry and mainstream media scene with some new projects that have been in the works. His goal is to launch his own label/management company that offers full-service social media management and content creation for artists in the hip-hop space while he also continues to further his own career in television.

From sports to music. Stay on the lookout for Jake McGrady.

A Talented Las Vegas Teen “Rae Milli” is Ready to Shine Bright in a City Full of Stars

Rae Milli, born Aiyana Evans, is creating a major buzz in a lot of music circles. A Las Vegas native who has been singing and dancing since she could walk has recently signed her first recording contract.

Being willing to bet on herself and follow her passion for creating music caused her to turn down four volleyball scholarships after graduating high school last year. That talent and passion got the attention of indie label Evo Music Group which recently signed her and made Rae the first lady of EMG.

Her versatile flow and ability to sing and rap have drawn some high praise and comparisons. When asked about the fact that some of her work reminds people of a female Drake, Rae laughed and said “Hold up now, don’t go that far. Drake is an icon, I’m just getting started.”

Her humbleness is refreshing in this age of industry and social media bravado. She attributes that to her mother and father who keep her grounded. “My mom and dad are my biggest supporters but they say they keep the safety pin to pop my head if it gets too big,” Rae says as she shakes her head.

After hearing some of her newly mastered songs and the vision of which current big names are going to be on which ones, I’m predicting that Rae will soon be shining bright not just in Las Vegas but in the industry as a whole.

Jayda Cheaves Hints At Lil Baby Break Up: I Post My Own Tea

For years, Jayda Cheaves has invested her time into her burgeoning relationship with Lil Baby. In fact, from this partnership the pair are diligently working to raise their son. However, yesterday (March 18), she hinted at a romantic break up offering the cryptic message, “I post my own tea.”

Generally speaking, no relationship is without its faults. Yet, the reoccurring cheating allegations may have added to this decision to part ways. So, the fashion influencer is candidly sharing her narrative.

The Declaration

Initially, an infamous slow clap GIF introduces the announcement. “I’m finally standing up,” offered the beauty boss. As a matter of fact, the following posts to her Instagram stories seem to detail her heartache.

Soon, to the public, she offers sage advice. “Everything comes to an end. Never force it. Be happy,” reads the stark message.

Moreover, she mentions what action that she is willing to take in order to maintain her composure. “I’m willing to [X] anybody out for my happiness and peace,” four crying emojis are used to help emphasize her point. Next, Jayda Wayda demonstrates sheer vulnerability.

“I post my own [tea] so I can clown myself before i get clowned,” admits Ms. Cheaves. Cuz shiddddd it’s cold out here — ion know how this [sh*t] gon go,” reads the reflective message.

In recent past, the emerging entrepreneur endured very public issues concerning Lil Baby’s alleged infidelity. Although, a lavish lifestyle accompanied her partnership, it may not be rich enough to silence any lingering doubts.

The Response

Following Jayda’s apparent break-up post, Lil Baby, did not wait to publicly reply. “WHEN A MF THINK THEY CAN PLAY WITH ME,” the cocky caption reads. In fact, the happy feet seemingly depict his confident exit from the relationship. Be that as it may, Jayda Cheaves has more to share.

“THINK THEY CAN PLAY WITH YOU? LMFAO YOU PLAYED WITH ME FOR 6 YEARS STRAIGHT. I TEXT A N*GGA BACK NOW YOUR CHEST HURT. BYE,” she writes in the matter-of-fact clap back.

Ultimately, both of these two chose to delete their last social media responses. So, this time, are they actually romantically done with each other?

EXCLUSIVE: Dot Demo Restores Lyricism To The Bronx

The Bronx is the birthplace of emceeing.

And in the congested world of rap music, it is easy to forget the value of the lyric and the presence of the lyricist.

Quick beats and catchy phrases saturate the radio, making it hard for artists, who are remotely connected to the artistic foundation, to feel lost in the proverbial sauce. Let’s face it … who cares if you can rhyme?

Well, Dot Demo not only reminds the culture that there are artists that care but reminds the fan of reasons to care.

In his exclusive interview with AllHipHop.com, the artist talks about his latest project 93Hunnit, and the process to bring it to the world.

A 16-piece opus, he talks shares how the legacy of being a Bronx rapper helped him craft his project into something that multiple generations could relate to.

“I am telling you; I grew up really weird,” he shares in an exclusive interview with journalist Nikki Duncan-Smith.

He spoke about growing up in an Afro-Latino family and drawing from his Southern heritage and his Boricua roots.  At any given time, his pro-Black grandfather would be breaking down the necessity of nation-building in the house, but outside of the house, he would be taught how to survive in Soundview streets.

Check out his interview and peep all the fascinating elements that made him into the artist that he is, including fatherhood, group affiliations, and more.

Dot Demo co-produced two tracks on the album, while his brother RUNITUPDAY! captured the essence of aesthetically pleasing Lo-Fi Hip Hop on nine of the songs, alongside work from Don The Jeweler, Pacino Tha Plug, Rizzy 2 Times, Ya Drunk Uncle, Beats By Day, and Stab Production.

Game Suggests Trevor Noah Blocked Kanye From Performing At Grammy’s

Rapper The Game took to social media to blast The Recording Academy for disinviting Kanye West from performing at this year’s Grammy Awards show.

Game wrote a lengthy caption next to a meme that says, “When will all the BLACK entertainers, Athletes, Actors, Producers, Writers, Directors, Media etc… figure it out.”

The West Coast rapper broke down his feelings about Kanye being marked because he speaks out.

Mr. Los Angeles Confidential wrote, “Time & time again they show us that they only want to STEAL the culture, not allow you to ever be their equals. In a more than obvious move for reasons of minuscule actions … The Grammys have at the last minute decided to pull @kanyewest from performing on the show as if we didn’t know it was coming.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/CbRO2vfL5sd/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

“Could be because @trevornoah is hosting and there was a conversation held amongst his team & the academy that led to the decision or because Ye’s account was suspended just days ago for reasons unknown,” the West Coast rapper rationalized.

As reported by AllHipHop.com, Kanye West had launched a bigoted rant about Noah on Instagram, causing Ye to be suspended from the platform.

Noah responded saying he’s a huge fan of the rapper and that it “breaks” his “heart to see” the artist “like this.

In his response, Trevor Noah tried said, “don’t ever forget, the biggest trick racists ever played on Black people was teaching us to strip each other of our Blackness whenever we disagree.”

The Game, who has been collaborating with Kanye West over the last few months, said that these industry giants have been able to disrespect artists and what they have “brought to the table in entertainment, media & sports over the last 100 years.”

He suggested that Kanye won’t be performing because he boldly speaks his mind, something the decision-makers do not appreciate.

“Speak your mind in this country for yourself, family or your people & you’re ostracized immediately & if you push them hard enough they will stop at no ends to try and put an end to you as a whole,” Game said.

“I for one, have never been scared to speak my mind even understanding what the consequences may be,” the artist continued. “I can’t sleep at night knowing I was quiet about issues burning holes in my heart or narratives incorrectly pushed by the mass agenda to create a mindset that the person at hand is krazy or has issues internally that are beyond repair.”

“I say all this to say, I’M WOKE….. & while I am.. lemme remind you that Colin Kapernick still isn’t allowed in the NFL, lynching just became a federal hate crime in 2022 & you can now not be discriminated from employment because of the way you decide to wear your hair.”

Ending his assessment with sarcasm, “GEEZ thank you m#### for allowing us to slowly progress as a race 100 years at a time after all that was STOLEN from us.”

According to The Blast, on Friday, March 18th, The Grammys called Kanye to share he will not be doing a performance in their upcoming show because of his “concerning online behavior.”

Will Smith Shocked By “Unique” Responses And Praise For “King Richard”

Will Smith is surprised his 2006 film “The Pursuit of Happyness” didn’t get the same level of awards season recognition as “King Richard.”

In an interview with The Blast at the National Board of Review gala on Tuesday, the actor admitted he expected “The Pursuit of Happyness,” which he starred in alongside his son Jaden, to receive a raft of awards nominations, but it only received one – for Best Actor.

“I thought ‘Pursuit of Happyness’ was the best movie I ever made,” he shared. “The reaction that ‘King Richard’ is getting is what I thought ‘Pursuit of Happyness’ was going to get but something happened with this film that is very unique. I’ve never experienced this blanket level of appreciation for a movie.”

The 53-year-old is currently nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for the third time for his portrayal of Venus and Serena Williams’ father Richard Williams in “King Richard.”

The film is nominated for six Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay.

Will is widely expected to take home the Best Actor Academy Award later this month, as he is currently on a winning streak. Across the past four weeks, he has won the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award, BAFTA Film Award, Critics Choice Award, and National Board of Review prize for the role.

The Oscars will take place in Los Angeles on March 27th.

Benzino Waves White Flag In Longstanding Feud With Eminem

Benzino decided to end one of the longest-running feuds in Hip Hop.

After beefing with Eminem for two decades, Benzino put a stop to the bad blood on Thursday (March 17). Coi Leray’s father announced he’s done with the beef via Twitter.

“To all @Eminem fans & Stans all over the world, the beef is officially over,” he wrote. “I’m letting y’all know I have no hate towards any of his fans & recognize his contributions to Hip Hop. He truly is apart of the culture & 1 of the best to rock the mic regardless of his color.”

Coi Leray’s burgeoning career played a role in Benzino’s decision. He admitted arguing with Eminem’s fans wasn’t a good look for both him and his daughter.

“I realize that me going back and forth with his fans is not good for the culture, my spirit, my legacy and most important, my beautiful, talented daughter Coi Leray,” he explained. “I don’t want any negativity from me affect her dream. This is truly over. God Bless All.”

https://twitter.com/IAMBENZINO/status/1504589609522581507?s=20&t=jK4GLV3RnptoIcYc4tUxWA

Benzino and Eminem’s bitter feud has faded to the background, but it was a major issue in Hip Hop during the 2000s. It also played a role in the downfall of The Source, which Benzino once co-owned.

During the beef, Benzino and Eminem exchanged several diss tracks. The Source’s coverage also started to reflect the personal vendetta against Slim Shady.

The beef’s most infamous moment came in 2003 when Benzino and The Source unearthed recordings of Eminem rapping racial slurs as a teenager. Em apologized for being an “angry, stupid kid” who used the offensive lyrics following a breakup with a Black girlfriend.

Eminem was largely forgiven, but his drama with The Source was just the start of bad business for the magazine once regarded as Hip Hop’s bible. Former editor-in-chief Kim Osorio’s wrongful termination added to the publication’s problems, eventually leading to Benzino and founder David Mays’ ouster from The Source in 2006.

Kodak Black Meets Donald Trump With The Help Of Ray J

Kodak Black linked up with Donald Trump, who granted clemency to the rapper last year.

According to Page Six, Kodak Black met with Trump at a dinner held at the Mar-a-Lago club on Thursday night (March 17). Ray J facilitated the meeting, bringing the Florida native to the dinner as his plus-one.

“It was the right thing to do,” Ray J told Page Six. “Trump pardoned him.”

The singer’s manager David Weintraub added, “Ray has always been someone who enjoys connecting talented minds together. And this is just another example of his goodwill.”
