DJ Iceman could have simply rested on his laurels. After all, he is a Wu-Tang Clan affiliate. But with more than 300,000 streams on his last two projects on Spotify, he really doesn’t want to. In fact, the man born Robert Anderson in Brooklyn, NY, is a testament to the power of hard work and dedication to the craft.
DJ Iceman has a 30-year resumé in the music business to back up all of his claims, of course. He says that the shift from DJing to beat-making was the biggest transition he had to make, especially when he was first starting out.
“I had to do everything times 10. as well as learn about trademarks, copyrights, licenses, split sheets, and owning the content I put out,” he told AllHipHop.com exclusively. “So it went from simple promo to running full campaigns, pitching to playlists and sound libraries and artists.”
That lesson inspired DJ Iceman to launch Big Boss Entertainment, where he provides a myriad of services to clients ranging from promotions, marketing, and publicity, to Spotify and YouTube services. He even shows artists how to use Google to optimize their search engine results.
In short, Anderson is nothing short of a force to be reckoned with.
The true hero of the Met Gala wasn’t AOC and her performative “tax the rich” dress. The true hero of the Met Gala was a man by the name of Lewis Hamilton.
Revolt TV has a profile of the Formula 1 racer, whose name has been relatively unknown on American shores until now. Hamilton arrived at the Met Gala just days after narrowly surviving a horrific crash in Monza, Italy. What’s more, he didn’t come to the Gala with a date, or wearing a stupid dress with a performative activism phrase.
Rather, Lewis Hamilton put his money where his mouth is, and bought a table at the Gala for up-and-coming Black fashion designers to have a seat at the table. Literally.
“The Met is the biggest fashion event of the year, and for this theme, I wanted to create something that was meaningful and would spark a conversation,” Hamilton said. “So that when people see us all together, it will put these Black designers at the top of people’s minds.”
Kenneth Nicholson, Theophilio, and Jason Rembert were a few of the many designers in attendance thanks to Lewis Hamilton. Check out some of their work below. And applaud Lewis Hamilton for really doing the work instead of acting like an a## on social media while getting nothing done.
Eight months ago, several women began accusing Clifford “T.I.” Harris and Tameka “Tiny” Harris of sexual misconduct. The Hustle Gang frontman posted an Instagram video in January denying the allegations, but that did not stop the story from spreading.
T.I. recently sat down with Big Bank, DJ Scream, and Baby Jade for a live episode of the Big Facts podcast. The conversation included T.I. being questioned about the serious accusations leveled against the celebrity couple.
“Listen, man, that s### don’t hurt me,” said the 40-year-old rapper/actor. When Big Bank brought up the reports of T.I. and Tiny allegedly drugging and kidnapping multiple women, Tip responded, “S### didn’t happen!”
As of press time, neither Clifford Harris nor Tameka Harris have been charged with any crimes in connection to the sexual assault and human trafficking allegations. T.I. mentioned law enforcement while speaking with the Big Facts crew.
“They sent that s### to the feds. They sent that s### to GBI [Georgia Bureau of Investigation]… I trust any legal, law facility to do their job,” T.I. told the audience inside Atlanta’s Buckhead Theatre.
The T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle star went on to say, “Stupid people listen to stupid people. It’s as simple as that. Stupid people listen to stupid people. The name of the show is [Big Facts]. You show me one m############ big fact on the subject and we can continue the discussion.”
After Big Bank suggested some people just want T.I. to apologize for his alleged behavior, the 3-time Grammy winner fired back, “I done told y’all before. I know from whence my blessings come. I ain’t g###### negotiating with no terrorists. Do your worst.”
After the incident made headlines across the internet, Blueface spoke about the ordeal with Jason Lee of Hollywood Unlocked. The Find the Beat album creator denied reports that the physical altercation started over an issue about identification.
“We get in line… they’re tripping off the ID. I’m like, ‘Alright, that’s cool. Y’all go in there and get a drink. I’ll wait right here and smoke.’ So I’m just chilling outside taking pictures,” Blueface explained to Jason Lee.
The Cash Money Records artist continued, “While taking my pictures, he’s just snickering, throwing out his little comments like I think I’m too cool… So they go in there and get their drinks. When they come out, I’m like, ‘Alright, what’s going on?’ He’s still going on. He throws a little racial [comment].”

Blueface went on to say that he was not “pressed” to go inside the establishment after being denied entry for not having a proper ID. Apparently, his associates entered Skinny’s Lounge without him. According to Blueface, the situation was fine until the doorman began using racist insults.
“He had a little racial slur, like, ‘Cause you think you’re a famous little n-word you think you can do this and do that,” recalled Blueface. “I’m like, ‘Damn, you went right there with it.’ I wasn’t even tripping on him, honestly… We’re not trying to do him how we did him.”
Blueface claimed he checked on the man following the brawl. The 24-year-old entertainer added, “If you look at the whole clip, we didn’t jump him. One person got on him. I went to facilitate then he just went down. It’s not like we were just like, ‘Let’s all get a turn on beating this dude’s ass.'”
Last night, much of the Hip Hop world was tuned into the Fat Joe vs Ja Rule Verzuz battle. The two veteran NYC rappers went head-to-head inside the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden, but it was two other music legends that had people talking as well.
Will two of the most prolific producers/artists in Hip Hop history go hit-for-hit in the near future? So So Def Recordings founder Jermaine Dupri blatantly called out Bad Boy Entertainment founder Sean “Diddy” Combs for a Verzuz clash.
“Somebody let @Diddy know I’m @thegarden right now! And he gon need some training for me,” tweeted Jermaine Dupri on Tuesday night.
It did not take long for Diddy to respond to Jermaine Dupri. Less than an hour later, the Harlem-raised entrepreneur previously known as Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, and Puffy answered JD’s challenge.
“Beloved, you my n#### but your arms too short to box with God!!! You ain’t got enough hits. I’ll smash you with just [The Notorious B.I.G. and Mary J. Blige]. But I do have the [utmost] respect on you as a musical legend – [Dr. Dre is] the only one can get in the ring [with] me,” tweeted Diddy.
Jermaine Dupri then borrowed a line from his fellow Atlanta representatives Migos by replying, “Don’t nothin’ get straightenin’ but straightenin.” Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff dropped the Culture III song “Straightenin” in May.
Beloved you my n#### but your arms too short to box with God!!! You aiint got enough hits. I’ll smash you with just biggie n Mary . But I do have the upmost respect on you as a musical legend – Dre the only one can get in the ring w me . – LOVE 🖤
Both Jermaine Dupri and Diddy are responsible for producing some of the biggest hits in Hip Hop/R&B history. They also released their own respective singles and albums that have survived the test of time.
Jermaine Dupri has produced tracks for Usher, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Jay-Z, Monica, Bow Wow, Da Brat, Xscape, TLC, and other acts. His own catalog includes singles such as “Money Ain’t a Thang” and “Welcome to Atlanta.”
Gerald “G-Eazy” Gillum is the latest rapper facing legal trouble. The Oakland-based recording artist was taken into custody in New York City for allegedly being involved in a brawl at a nightclub.
According to TMZ, G-Eazy was arrested on Monday afternoon in connection with a physical altercation at the Boom Boom Room in Manhattan. G-Eazy and members of his entourage are accused of getting into a fight with another group of men.
One person was allegedly hit in the head with a bottle which caused the man to go to the hospital for treatment. Another individual claimed he was punched by G-Eazy outside of the venue. That man reportedly refused medical attention.
The incident at the Boom Boom Room in the Standard Hotel allegedly took place around 1 am on Friday, September 10. G-Eazy was charged with assault and issued a desk appearance ticket. He must appear in court at a later date.
Back in 2018, G-Eazy was arrested in Stockholm, Sweden on assault and narcotics charges following a fracas at another club. He was later sentenced to two years probation and ordered to pay $900 in restitution to the security guard he assaulted that day.
G-Eazy is presently preparing to release his next studio album titled These Things Happen Too. The project is set to arrive on September 24 via RCA Records. These Things Happen Too is the sequel to 2014’s These Things Happen.
Nicki Minaj may not be a medical professional but her thoughts on the COVID-19 vaccine became mainstream news this week. The “Starships” rapper’s recent tweets had a lot of people scratching their heads which eventually led to Dr. Anthony Fauci responding to Minaj.
“My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied,” posted Minaj on Monday.

Nicki Minaj’s story about her cousin’s friend getting the vaccine and then having reproductive issues was brought up on CNN. The Lead‘s Jake Tapper asked Chief Medical Advisor to the President Dr. Anthony Fauci if that scenario was based on scientific fact.
“The answer to that, Jake, is a resounding no,” said Dr. Fauci. “There’s no evidence that it happens nor is there any mechanistic reason to imagine that it would happen. So the answer to your question is no.”

Duke Deuce had a major scare when gunfire erupted while he was livestreaming on Instagram.
A clip of Duke Deuce’s livestream began to spread online on Monday. Before the shooting began, the Motown Records rapper was seen commenting on his accessibility to fans.
Duke told his social media followers where to find him, seemingly referencing the Peppertree apartment complex in his hometown of Memphis as his location.
“Come outside and f### with me, Peppertree,” he said in the livestream. “We ain’t on none of that bougie s###, ain’t none of that Hollywood s###.”
Things quickly took a turn for the worse when shots started being fired in his vicinity. Duke immediately began running and eventually found a spot to take cover in the area.

Duke hasn’t publicly addressed the incident on any of his platforms, but he’s seemingly been unfazed by the shooting. The crunk revivalist was back to promoting his new single “WTF!” like nothing happened on Tuesday.
In February, Duke released his Motown debutDuke Nukem. The 14-track album featured collaborations with Offset, Latto, A$AP Ferg and Young Dolph, among others.
The “Crunk Ain’t Dead” creator is currently prepping for his follow-up project Crunkstar. His “WTF!” single is expected to appear on his sophomore effort for Motown.
Nicki Minaj had some heated words for MSNBC’s Joy Reid, who called out Nicki for making dubious claims about COVID-19 vaccines.
On Monday’s episode of MSNBC’s The ReidOut, Joy Reid criticized Nicki Minaj for suggesting a COVID-19 vaccine caused impotency. After seeing the segment, Nicki blasted Reid via Twitter.
“This is what happens when you’re so thirsty to down another black woman (by the request of the white man), that you didn’t bother to read all my tweets,” she wrote. “’My God SISTER do better’ imagine getting ur dumb ass on tv a min after a tweet to spread a false narrative about a black woman.”

A few hours later, Nicki continued to lambast Reid. Nicki shared a Twitter screenshot of the TV host questioning the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as the Food and Drug Administration. She also posted a Vox story about Reid making homophobic blog posts.
“A lying homophobic coon,” Nicki wrote. “I guess I can join in the reindeer games too right? Ppl can go on tv & lie on me, I can report on them, too right? Doesn’t have to be truths. It can be half truths. Uncle Tomiana asked who on earth would trust the US FDA guys… @JoyAnnReid.”
A lying homophobic coon
I guess I can join in the reindeer games too right? Ppl can go on tv & lie on me, I can report on them, too right? ☺️. Doesn’t have to be truths. It can be half truths.
Nicki came under fire for her stance on COVID-19 vaccines after revealing she wouldn’t get vaccinated until she had “done enough research.” She then claimed her cousin had a friend who became impotent due to the vaccination.
Reid was among the many people taking issue with Nicki spreading misinformation to her 22.6 million followers on Twitter.
“For you to use your platform to encourage our community to not protect themselves and save their lives, my God sister, you could do better than that,” Reid said on MSNBC. “You got that platform. It’s a blessing. It’s a blessing that you got that. That people listen to you and they listen to you more than they listen to me.”
She added, “For you to use your platform to put people in the position of dying from a disease they don’t have to die from, oh my God! As a Hip-Hop fan, as somebody who is your fan, I’m so sad that you did that.”
But Nicki insisted Reid wasn’t telling the full story to MSNBC viewers. After generating controversy, Nicki did concede she will likely get vaccinated to go on tour. In her view, Reid was purposely leaving out that information.

Drake was the driving force behind Kanye West’s Donda release plans, according to rock legend Todd Rundgren.
In an interview with Ultimate Classic Rock, Rundgren detailed his involvement in the making of Kanye West’s Donda album. When explaining why he didn’t appear on the final version of the LP, the 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee revealed how much Drake’s moves were influencing Kanye’s decisions.
“My involvement went on for a year, and in the end I realized why they hurriedly wrapped the whole thing up and put out what is obviously really raw, unprocessed stuff,” Rundgren explained. “It’s because Drake was running the whole process. He was too afraid that Drake would one-up him, so he hurried up and released the album the weekend before Drake could get his out. And in the end, Drake ate his lunch anyway.”
The Utopia founder was recruited by 88-Keys, who co-produced multiple tracks on Donda, to work with Kanye. Rundgren noted he did extensive work for the project but eventually became disillusioned with the creative process.
“I have three albums worth of Kanye stems on my computer,” he told UCR. “Because I kept getting called by Kanye to add vocals onto the record. When it got into the homestretch in July, I just said, ‘That’s enough for me. I have no idea whether any of this is being used.’ You don’t get much feedback from him regarding what it is.”
It was a frustrating experience for Rundgren, who felt like his time was being wasted. He also came away from the sessions with a blunt assessment of Kanye as an artist.
“He’s just a dilettante at this point,” he stated. “Nobody would regularly make records like that unless they had stupid money to throw around. Nobody rents a stadium to make a record in. Nobody flies in the entire world of Hip-Hop just to croak one syllable, just so you can say that everybody was on it.”
Kanye’s Donda was released on August 21 after numerous delays. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 but was dethroned a week later by Drake’s Certified Lover Boy. Drake’s album also outsold Kanye’s LP and set the record for most first-week sales in 2021.
Nicki Minaj got into a Twitter spat with broadcaster Piers Morgan in the aftermath of her wild claims about the COVID-19 vaccine.
Piers Morgan took aim at Nicki Minaj after Britain’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Chief Medical Officer Professor Chris Whitty commented on her claims of the vaccine causing impotency. Whitty said Nicki “should be ashamed” of spreading misinformation at a press conference on Tuesday.
“Professor Whitty beefing with the ghastly @NICKIMINAJ (one of the rudest little madams I’ve ever met) is not the breaking news that I expected today – but it’s most welcome,” Morgan wrote on Twitter. “She’s peddling lies that will cost lives.”
I love him even tho I guess this was a diss? The accent ugh! Yassss boo!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😅😂🥴 https://t.co/kXdKteVc7j
Nicki responded by saying she’s never met Morgan. She also seized on his “rudest little madam” line, making the phrase her Twitter bio.
“Sir I’ve never met you. I know… we all look alike,” she wrote to Morgan. “’Rudest little madam’. I like it. Has a special ring to it. Thanks Pierce. Love the accent. I’d love to come chat. Scones. Tea. Clown nose & big red shoes for you. Lmk babe.”

Morgan reacted by fact-checking Nicki. He noted the two met at a taping of America’s Got Talent and threw in a spellcheck for his name too.
“Madam, we met on @AGT when you appeared as a guest act – but you refused to say hello to my three young sons because you were ‘too busy,’” he recalled. “Oh, and it’s ‘Piers’ – I know, we Brit names all sound alike.”
Nicki seemingly didn’t remember her appearance on America’s Got Talent in 2011, but fans quickly reminded her with footage of the performance. She still insisted she’d never slight any kids on purpose though.
“Stop fkng lying,” she replied to Morgan. “I never turn down pics with kids. If a middle person told you that, they were out of line. don’t blame me you stupid p############.”

Cardi B is asking a judge to give her a break and postpone her $5 million battle with a man who claims the rap star stole his tattoo and used it on the cover of her debut mixtape without permission.
Cardi has been attempting to settle a lawsuit filed by a guy named Kevin Michael Brophy Jr. He claims Cardi stole his unique back tattoo of a snake and a tiger and plastered it on the cover of her mixtape “Gangsta B#### Music Vol. 1.”
Brophy says he was utterly humiliated by the cover, which features a man with his back tattoo superimposed, giving Cardi B oral sex, as she chugs a 40 ounce of beer.
Cardi and Brophy have attempted to settle the case multiple times, without much luck.
Cardi says it will be nearly impossible for her to make the trial since she just gave birth – and she has to prepare to battle with blogger Tasha K.
“Just a few days ago, on September 4, 2021, in New York City, I gave birth to a son, my second child. I also have a three-year-old daughter. With all respect, for medical reasons, I do not feel it will be appropriate, fair or reasonable for me to be required to travel from the East Coast to Southern California in mid to late October,” Cardi B wrote to Judge Carney.
“It will be especially important for me to be with my newborn infant over the next two months. As I am and will be in the immediate post-natal period and nursing my newborn child, it would be extremely difficult and burdensome for me to have to be present for and participate in pretrial preparation, beginning in mid-October, and attendance at the trial, beginning in late October, in this case,” the rapper explained.
Cardi also noted that she is set to square off against Latasha K., whom she is suing for defamation, for claiming the rapper had herpes and HPV, amongst other sordid allegations.
If the case against Brophy is not continued or pushed back, Cardi would have to travel from Atlanta to New York for that trial and then high-tail it back down to Atlanta to battle with Tasha K.
“It would be extremely burdensome for me, in addition to attending to my newborn and recovering from recent childbirth, to have to participate in both trials back-to-back, on the two different coasts, first beginning with trial preparation in Southern California in mid-October, followed immediately by trial here from late October into early November, leaving almost no time then to travel to Atlanta and prepare for the trial there on its eve, with that trial commencing within a matter of a few days after this case,” Cardi eloquently wrote.
Cardi B. said she hopes to settle the whole damn mess with Brophy on October 15.
Regardless, Cardi has asked Judge Carney to delay the October 26 trial date and give her another 75 days to prepare for a trial with Kevin Michael Brophy.
Amazingly, Brophy and his legal team are not opposing the delay.
But they are being strategic by asking the judge to cut the days from 75 to 45 – meaning the trial would start in December, before the end of 2021.
“A trial date set before the end of 2021 will do far more to motivate the parties in settlement discussions at the mediation set for October 15, 2021 than a trial date set in 2022, which is more likely to be ‘out of sight, out of mind’ and less of an incentive to reach a compromise and resolve the case in recognition of the ongoing harm to [Brophy],” said Brophy’s attorney Lawrence J. Conlan.
Just when we were ready to front on Tory Lanez for the alleged shooting of Meg thee Stallion, the Canadian-chart topper reminds us all of his ever-enduring grind and his commitment to good works in the community.
Recently, the “Chix Tapes” singer went to Baltimore, MD to do a huge give back to those in need.
On Friday, September 10, while many were preparing for their weekend party and MTV’s Video Music Awards, he went to a local B-More Target and racked up a $50,000 bill after buying clothes for the poor and less fortunate.

He then went to the Steaurt Hill Academy to distribute the items to single mothers and their children.
The Grammy Award-nominated recording artist partnered with non-profit organization Diamonds on the Rise.
In addition to the giveback, he secured a moon bouncing blow up house, 360 cameras, and refreshments for all those who attended.
He said, “[We are giving] clothes and items, mainly to single mothers and children. They are … most Important…the face of the nation is our generation coming up and the women that nurture them,” he continued.
He posted, “This may sound dumb but i promise y’all …. “Everyone wish my son @mmgbigbank HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY!!!” he wrote in the caption. “Today he became the owner of his 1st @wingstop franchise. Your now officially a BOSS !!! Keep Going.”
Rick Ross has been heavily involved in the Wing Stop franchise for many years. Last month, during the chicken shortage, we told you that the Maybach Music mogul connected with restaurant partners at Wingstop to create an offshoot franchise, Thighstop.
“The business model did not previously consider all parts of the bird. Now, it seasons up the dark meat as quickly (and profitably) as it does the flats and tips,” we reported. “This strategy has proven to be successful for Rick Ross and so with some of his proceeds, he decided to give back. According to his Instagram, today he went out to support the first responders who are still dealing with the aftermath of the deadly condo collapse in Surfside, Florida.”
Good for Rick Ross. And good for him for supporting Black generational wealth, too.
EST Gee’s business partner could be facing a life sentence, after getting caught with drugs and guns.
The FBI arrested Eric Mosley at a hotel in Louisville, Kentucky on an outstanding warrant.
When they caught up with Mosley at the hotel, he was allegedly in possession of a kilo of cocaine, an AK-47, a stolen Zigana PX-9 handgun, and $100,000 in cash.
Mosley is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing a firearm.
He was charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
If convicted, Mosley faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum penalty of life in prison.
Mosley is one of the owners of Everybody Shine Together, LLC aka EST LLC.
It was also revealed that Mosley, along with EST Gee an Alamo Records executive/producer named Nigel Talley were the parties responsible for bailing out alleged child killer, Kevon Lawless.
Police accuse Lawless of breaking into a house in 2020 and killed the baby, and her father.
Lawless, who is facing the death penalty, made his cash only $300,000 bond, leaving many people in the community outraged with his release to home confinement.
He was thrown back in jail in July after being caught with a weapon, which violated his parole violation from a 2017 attempted murder case.
Between Fat Joe and Ja Rule, I don’t know who has worse business sense.
Everyone and their mother knows that, in addition to being the Reek to 50 Cent’s Ramsay Bolton, Ja Rule was front-and-center of that Fyre Festival disaster. So complete was the destruction from the Fyre Festival that its co-founder, Billy McFarland, is currently sitting in a federal penitentiary, and the phrase has since been used to describe festivals and concerts that are so disastrous that not even Black Jesus Himself can save them. (Like the “MobMovieCon,” for instance. Ice-T, what were you thinking, man?)
Then there’s Fat Joe.
In addition to (allegedly) still holding on to Big Pun’s royalties — so much so that Liza Rios, Pun’s widow, frequently takes to Instagram to drag Joey Crack’s slimmed-down tuchas from here to Teaneck tothis day — the man born Joseph Cartagena is a proud spokesperson for a world-infamous pyramid scheme.
“This unbelievable YouTube video shows Joseph “Fat Joe” Cartagena speaking at an international convention for MarketAmerica, the parent company for Shop.com, a seemingly innocent website that sells thousands of everyday products like vitamins, groceries, safari hats, laser printers, and Hunger Games Halloween costumes,” reports The Hundreds. “The goal of Joe’s video, however, is not to sell you these individual products, but to sell you on becoming a “shop consultant,” someone who, beyond the product sales, promotes the website and relies mostly on signing up others to join in as “consultants,” thus creating a very familiar pyramid, where the earned money trickles down based on the recruitment. Also, you have to pay a set-up fee, a yearly fee, and a monthly fee to sell the items.”
*in my Cardi B voice* That’s suspicious. That’s weird.
We may as well call this Verzuz “the battle of the scam artists.”
Quavo from the Atlanta group Migos is saying that he and his groupmates invented the “triplet flow style” in rap music. However, fans immediately checked him, urging him to really consider going back to review some Hip-Hop history.
In an interview with Taylor Rooks, the “Versace Versace” rapper said, “The triplet flow for sure. Yea, the triplet flow. Wasn’t nobody doing it before we came in and right now everybody’s doing it and it’s a blessing.”
Rooks shared that David Banner, another respected rapper, once said that people “jack” Migos’ style of flow and don’t give them the credit that they deserve. Quavo agreed, “They just don’t want to give credit. You don’t want to come in being new and say you took somebody’s style or say you got the style or that you were influenced by too many young people cause you don’t know how people will take it, so it’s all good.”
One of the groups that pioneered “triplet flow style” could be said to be the Cleveland, Ohio-based rap group, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. When Eazy E put them on in the mid-90s, shortly after Quavo was born, they revolutionized the tempo that lyrics are rapped on a song and were the origins of the triplet flow.
Eric Alper even believes that Three 6 Mafia also utilized this device in their song compositions… so it would be impossible for it to have originated with the Migos group.
Here is a real breakdown of the ethnomusicological dynamics and history of the rap style.
Fans also, without the scholarship listed above, recalled the influence of their favorite 90s rappers.
It is important that rappers know their history. It’s about carrying a legacy and expanding it.
