Cardi B will finally face off against a disgruntled man in October, over claims the superstar rapper ruined his life!
Kevin Michael Brophy Jr. says he endured mental anguish after being humiliated by the cover of Cardi’s debut mixtape “Gangsta B#### Music Vol. 1.”
The outrageous cover shows Cardi tossing back a 40 ounce of beer, while a man is snuggled comfortably betwixt her wide open legs – presumably giving her head.
Brophy insists his back tattoo of a snake and a tiger was stolen and superimposed on the man pleasuring Cardi on the cover, without his consent.
Brophy sued Cardi B in October of 2017. Cardi, real name Belcalis Almanzar, blasted the lawsuit during a deposition as a money grab from a disgruntled guy who works at a “surf shop.”
“It’s ridiculous. It’s wasting my time. It’s wasting my money. Like, I could really be with my kid right now. Like, I’m really upset because I really have to be with my kid…All because of some bulls##t, trying to get money, and then $5,000,000. Are you f##king kidding me?” Cardi said.
In addition to asking for at least $5 million, Brophy believes he is entitled to a piece of everything Cardi has earned since the release of “Gangsta B#### Music Vol. 1,” which helped thrust her career into the stratosphere.
Both parties went to the settlement table in August of 2020, in March of 2021, and once again last month, on August 20, 2021.
Judge Cormac J. Carney appears to have had enough of the legal warfare.
Judge Carney said various criminal cases that were set for trial have been resolved or continued, so he decisively set a date for a jury trial to settle the battle.
A pre-trial conference will take place on October 8, while the trial between Cardi B and Michael Brophy Jr. will pop off starting on October 26, 2021, and 8:30 a.m.
Taco Bell has Lil Nas X and McDonald’s has Travis Scott and Saweetie.
Next up is Burger King, hoping to not be left too far behind with new deals in collaboration with rappers Nelly and Lil Huddy.
The celebrity endorsed meal combos will be called, “Keep It Real Meals.”
However, instead of using their celebrity monikers, each artist will don their legal name to introduce their respective combo deals.
St. Louis’ native Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Haynes Jr., will have a deal that includes the following items: a Whopper topped with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayo, and ketchup, a small fry, and a small Sprite.
For Lil Huddy, who got his fame from TikTok and dons the birth name of Chase Hudson, the following items will be in his combo meal: a hand-breaded Spicy Ch’King with cheese, four-piece mozzarella sticks, and a 16-ounce chocolate shake.
But why are they getting into the game now?
The fast-food chain is changing how they make the food, looking to be more health-conscious.
Burger King is removing 120 artificial substances from their menu from all of their franchises. The Burger King North America’s chief marketing officer, Ellie Doty, shared in a statement, “By eliminating these 120 components from our menu, we provide diners with a simple option: excellent meals produced with high-quality ingredients.”
“We’re convinced that our continued dedication to real food will not only give guests with the meals they want, but will also establish a benchmark for the industry as a whole,” she added.
Starting on Sunday, September 12, the meals will be offered at participating Burger King restaurants.
R&B singer Jaheim was on the verge of a major breakthrough with the release of the new album by rapper AZ, titled Doe Or Die. He’s on the lead single. However, the New Jersey-based singer has been arrested and charged with a myriad of infractions rooted in animal cruelty.
According to authorities, the singer lived with 15 dogs in horrific conditions in his New Jersey home and some of them were even dead. They were found in crates, with feces and water prosecutor said on Thursday.
They went into his Somerset, New Jersey home on Monday to investigate one puppy and found out that there were allegedly numerous dogs in distress, one of which had to be euthanized. There were six dogs in the driveway alone.
“Additional dogs were found inside of separate crates which were partially filled with several inches of water and dog feces,” prosecutors said in a news release. The 44-year old, born Jaheim Hoagland, was arrested.
He is charged with third-degree animal cruelty and failure to provide necessary care to an animal.
A total of 14 dogs were taken to a local Hillsborough kennel where they will be living for the for seeable future. Two of those dogs were taken to an emergency treatment clinic because of the poor conditions in which they were living.
Reports say that 12 of the dogs were pitbull terriers, two of them were American Stratfordshire terrier’s and one was a mixed breed boxer.
Jaheim is a well-known singer that released his hit debut album 2001. His hits include “Put That Woman First,” “Anything” and more.
Wendy Williams has shocked fans and colleagues alike with her latest cryptic message on Instagram.
In a message posted to the social sharing app earlier today, the gossip host said that she was experiencing “ongoing health issues” and would be withdrawing from all of her promotional appearances until further notice.
She went on to say that she’d be “back in her purple chair” on Monday, September 20, to begin filming the 13th season of The Wendy Williams Show.
Some fans thought that the celebrity firebrand may have had a relapse with her drug addiction.
But according to Page Six, it’s more likely that Wendy Williams is dealing with the after-effects of her Graves’ disease.
“Williams, 57, has previously discussed several health issues on her daytime series, including her battle with Graves’ Disease, which caused the host to put her show on hiatus in spring 2020,” they speculate.
Whatever the truth of the matter, we certainly hope she gets well soon. We’ve already lost far too many people and far too soon — if nothing else, our beloved Black entertainers deserve to grow old, even if they do make a name for themselves acting stupid on television.
San Francisco rap duo RPxSB has recently released their latest single titled Vibeland. “Vibeland is that point at the afterparty where everything is hitting in the best way possible,” explained RPxSB. “You’re on, you’re chillin’, you’re with the crew, you’re comfortable, and your type of music is playing.
Sprinkle in some faded emotions and you’ve entered Vibeland.” Vibeland is the final track off their recent three-piece EP “MiDNIGHT.YELLOW”. RPxSB consists of childhood friends Roddy Picante, who works as a firefighter during the day, and Stay-Bizzy, a tech salesperson.
“90’s grit, house parties, indie music, Bay Area energy, drugs, love, sex, relationships, family ties, and all of life’s highs and lows – that’s what our music is about,” says the duo when asked about their content. “We are just two normal, working class dudes rapping about the stuff that all of us go through.
There is no hidden agenda or some deep profound meaning behind our music, film, and art.” With Vibeland, the duo has certainly managed to carve out their own unique sound.
Out of embarrassment, Scotland’s government has distanced themselves from a comedian named Janey Godley.
The funny woman tapped to help inspire people to take certain precautions during the COVID-19 pandemic, making them laugh as a spokesperson for a new public health campaign, has been let go because of racist comments she made on social media to various Black Americans celebs — including some of our favorite rappers.
The Daily Beast was the first to share the tweets to the politicians that were behind the ad, and the Scottish did not take a long time to pull the plug.
While the 20 blatantly racist tweets were over ten years old, they were still brutal.
Back in 2011, when Kelly Rowland from Destiny’s Child was a judge on British show The X Factor, Godley tweeted, “F##ksake That horsey face black wummin on Xfactor is flashing her t###…is this not a kids show?”
She wrote in a different post, “Kelly does speak like the stereotyped black Aunt Jemima who stands on a stool in the *Tom & Jerry *cartoons screaming ‘TOM.’”
In yet another post, “If Kelly talks like a ghetto blaster racist black chick am gonna punch her rice and peas.” She also called her in a “the black horse from USA” in still another post.
Godley, whose language is anything but of God, said this about 50 Cent on Twitter, “There’s nothing classier than a black rap man in a well cut suit with photo’s of guns in the background…mmm sexy.”
She also tweeted, “If it wasn’t the fact he is a b######## man talking about his dick I wouldn’t have known he was a rapper?”
In both of those tweets (and several more) she tagged the “Candy Shop” rapper. And in typical Fif fashion, he responded, “take yo big ass to sleep if you dont like what im saying.”
One might think that 50 getting her together was enough … but no … After comparing forced evictions from the Scottish Highlands in the 18 and 19th centuries to African slavery, she tweeted Kanye’s fans the following:
“The amount of black people annoyed I wrote ‘we are descendants of highlands clearances’ to Kanye. offended are ye? get f#####.”
She also went after Uncle Snoop Dogg, “I can’t believe snoop dog gets jailed for possessing weed—he’s a black rapper of course he has weed that’s his job isn’t it? And singing.”
More blatantly racist tweets were:
“just watch Justin Beiber video they need to stop leaving the wee boy with b######## fat rappers at parties..who is looking after that child?”
“Got accosted with 2 ‘american rap’ speaking black guys one had a hairnet in the Burger King ‘i will pop a cap in yer hairnet’ i said.”
“In hotel room which resembles a prison There are b######## men next room pretending to be hard core rappers ! Not in this hotel luv!”
“Can some Black male comics not tell us the size of their c###?”
“Were all black guys who became comedians the ONLY black guy at school in London in the 80s? really? were they really all good at dancing?”
Since the tweets have become public, she has apologized.
Godley presented a statement to The Daily Beast that denied any connection to these statements “These historic tweets that people have quite rightly found offensive, are deeply hurtful and shows my lack of empathy and zero self-awareness and come from a time of ignorance in my life, I am a firm believer in progress not perfection, I will continue to progress. People have every right to see who they are supporting and what values they hold and looking through their past social media is the way forward. I apologise for every single offensive word I wrote.”
“The offensive replies from me were to accounts that threatened me and I lashed out with abhorrent heckles. Their accounts were suspended, I should have blocked and reported them and not argued back. Comedy is no excuse for shocking and hurting people with words. I will endeavour to be better in future.”
“There are fake tweets that were created to threaten me, but
notwithstanding, the ones I wrote, I take responsibility for. During the course of this pandemic, I have tried to keep everyone’s spirits up and at the same time highlight the dangers. I am passionate about this and will continue to help in any way I can.”
The Scots had a statement of their own that showed that they weren’t going for it and just like that, she is out of a job.
“A series of unacceptable tweets by Janey Godley have been brought to our attention and, while she has rightly apologised, trust in our public health messages at this time is paramount. We have therefore taken the decision to withdraw any further campaign material in which Ms Godley features. The material will be discontinued immediately on our own channels and withdrawn as soon as possible from external media.”
After a few warm-up dates in Florida, Katt Williams will be officially hitting the road on September 17th in Raleigh, NC.
Recently, the diminutive comedian made headlines — and became a Twitter trending topic — when comedy fans recommended that he face off with Kevin Hart in a VERZUZ comedy battle. According to Atlanta Black-Star, this only proves that people don’t have a clue about comedy — or Katt Williams — because if they did, they’d know that Kevin Hart would leave that VERZUZ crying like Poor Lil’Tink Tink by the time all was said and done.
Really don’t. Kevin can not and would not survive Katt on any stage. https://t.co/F7ySoC4i8t
“One fan shared Williams’ viral interview where he got into a verbal altercation with former radio host Wanda Smith during V-103’s former “Frank and Wanda in the Morning” radio show. Williams skewered Smith following their seemingly innocent on-air banter. However, it quickly escalated into a brutal swap of insults, with Smith getting the worst of the exchange,” reported the outlet.
And in case you need a reminder of how brutal Katt Williams can really be, check out the aforementioned video below.
Unfoonk may be Young Thug’s brother, but here’s a recording artist in his own right here to be a voice for the streets.
Exploding onto the scene last year with his breakout single “Mob
Ties” featuring 24Heavy and Slimelife, who’s music video hails over 3.8 million views and counting, the rising star found music to be his calling, changing his life for the better after serving 11 years in prison.
Previously facing a life sentence, it was Thugger who would help his brother obtain his freedom back, going on to sign him to his Young Stoner Life Records imprint.
Unfoonk went on to appear on two standout tracks on the label’s compilation album Slime Language 2, on songs “Real” featuring Young Thug and “Mob Ties” remix with Future and YTB Trench.
Most recently, Unfoonk unleashed his highly-anticipated mixtape My Struggle, telling his story and inspiring the masses with his distinct raspy voice.
The 12-track project is spearheaded by lead single “Running Out of Patience” featuring Future, with additional features from G Herbo, Gunna, and Lil Keed.

AllHipHop: “Real” featuring Young Thug is going up, bring us back to when you made that in the studio.
Unfoonk: “Real” was made already. I had did “Real,” “Real” was done. But when Slime heard it, he said “This is it. This the one right here boy. I’m like “Yeah?” He said “This is it, put it down. Put it up.” I put it up and he jumped on it.
AllHipHop: How often does that happen where he’s like “oh yeah, this the one”?
Unfoonk: It happens a lot. If he hears something, he automatically says “I want to get on it.”
AllHipHop: What does that mean to be able to make records with your blood brother who’s one of the biggest rap stars ever?
Unfoonk: It feels good. It feels blessed to be in his presence doing music with him because a lot of folks don’t get a chance to do that. It just be a moment when we’re both in the studio. When we both be recording or doing something with each other, it be a moment. Everybody’s holding their breath like “What they about to come up with? What they about to do?” At the end when they hear it, they’ll say “yeah y’all two right here, that’s what’s up.” We got a lot.
AllHipHop: How far apart are you guys?
Unfoonk: Like 2 years. That’s my other half, my love. That’s my brother, I love him.
AllHipHop: What did it mean to see his career take off?
Unfoonk: It feels amazing. It feels amazing man to see him, because I was incarcerated.
AllHipHop: For 11 years right?
Unfoonk: Yes. So when I seen him take off, I knew then this is it. We ain’t looking back, this is it.
AllHipHop: What was the biggest lesson you learned from behind bars?
Unfoonk: Never take life for granted.
AllHipHop: Were you writing raps back there?
Unfoonk: Yeah, I was writing raps when I was locked up. But here’s the thing, I never used not one of them. I never recorded nothing that I wrote in jail. It doesn’t go right with the flow, it doesn’t go right with the beat. I said “I can’t do it, I gotta try something new.”
AllHipHop: You don’t have one of your most heartfelt raps in there, that you wanted to lay down on a beat?
Unfoonk: I do. I’ve got a song called “All Eyes On Me.” I can’t find the right beat for it though, so I left it alone.
AllHipHop: Is that inspired by Tupac at all?
Unfoonk: Yes.
AllHipHop: Who are your favorite artists?
Unfoonk: Besides Spider, my favorite artist is Yo Gotti. I like how he came up, how he stuck to what he believes in and what he raps about. That’s real, I could listen to him all day. I love listening to Gotti.
AllHipHop: How did “Mob Ties” came about?
Unfoonk: I was in the hood. I was in the hood with my same people I’m around. I get a phone call from Heavy, he said “Hey bro, come to the studio.” I said “s### alright,” so I pull up to the studio. He said “Bro you trippin’, you need to get out the hood. You need to rap. Boy you can rap, n*gga rap!” I said “alright,” so I pulled up a beat. When I pulled up a beat, he said “hey this the beat right here, this the one. This the song that finna take you out of here.” I said “okay,” then he went out and walked out. When I laid the hook down, I came back in and did my verse. He said “S###, who you gonna put on it?” I said “I don’t know, I might do it myself.” I’m thinking “I’ma put Slimelife Shawty on it.” I put Slimelife Shawty on, we dropped that and it became one of the biggest records it is.
AllHipHop: How does it feel to be on one of the biggest records from Slime Language 2?
Unfoonk: It feels good. It feels lovely man, we’re #1. I’m doing something good, we’re #1.
AllHipHop: How was shooting the cover art with the squad in the building?
Unfoonk: That was a sight to see all of us in one little place together, creating a moment. All of us together, we create a big moment. All of us here, we create a moment with each other so that was dope.
AllHipHop: What was the best memory from making the project?
Unfoonk: It was just fun. I didn’t take nothing serious. In this rap game, you’ve got to have fun with what you’re doing. I was having fun, and everyone else was having fun also.
AllHipHop: What is it that you want fans to get from your story?
Unfoonk: The real me. Just because you see me in fancy cars, money, all that, a person still struggles. I still struggle with life, I still struggle with a lot of things. It’s not just that, I’m still going through things too though so I tell everybody that’s still me. I’m still an average dude like everyone else. I act, walk, talk, do everything just like an average dude. I want everybody to know that they’re not alone, I’m here. I’m here with you.
AllHipHop: How does music help your mental health?
Unfoonk: It smooths me out, it benefits me. I get to rap about what I really want to say. I get to rap about what’s going on in front of me, I get to say what I want to say. I can walk down and see somebody doing something, it might touch me the wrong way. “Okay, I’m finna go rap about this.” Music helps me express myself a little better than people can understand me, so I express myself.
AllHipHop: Do you freestyle or do you write?
Unfoonk: I freestyle.
AllHipHop: Someone said “‘Real’ is the hardest s### out.”
Unfoonk: I seen that, I appreciate you. Appreciate it.
AllHipHop: I know Thugger had his birthday recently in Atlanta, how was that?
Unfoonk: Lit, lit situation. You know, everything we do is lit. It was lit. Real life animals, tigers, all types of s###. It was lit, everybody that joined us was family. The whole ass community enjoying the vibe, coming together creating a moment with each other. It was lit.
AllHipHop: What do you get someone like Thug?
Unfoonk: You won’t believe this, I asked that question. I said “what do you get a person like that that has it all? What do you get him?” He don’t want nothing because he just wants love. He wants real love. He wants us to stand around him, showing that you f### with him. Showing that you got him, that you genuinely love him.
AllHipHop: So what did you end up getting him?
Unfoonk: I had got him a ring, a bracelet, and some earrings.
AllHipHop: Someone said “You and Thug need a whole project together.”
Unfoonk: It might be in the making. Right now, we’re both focusing on our own project. I’m about to drop a project. He’s about to drop his project. We’re both focusing on our own project, but it’ll happen.
AllHipHop: How did “Running Out of Patience” with Future come about?
Unfoonk: My A&R VeeDoe said “hey Pluto said to pull up on him,” so I pulled up on him. We did one song together. After that, I had done some more songs. I said “Where he at? Ay bro, call Pluto. I wanna know where he’s at.” We called him, he said “I’m over here at the studio, pull up on me. So I pulled up on him, he’s over there kickin’ it. He said let him hear something, so I let him hear some songs and he jumped on it.
AllHipHop: What did that mean? because that’s a legend.
Unfoonk: It means a lot to me. He’s family, shout out to him. I’m thankful for what he did, he didn’t have to do it. That was love.
AllHipHop: Someone said “we need another Unfoonk and Future song.”
Unfoonk: It’s coming. Trust me, it’s coming.
AllHipHop: One thing you want people to get from your My Struggle mixtape?
Unfoonk: The real me. I want y’all to get me, the real me. This is all me. I didn’t put no sugarcoat on not one of the songs on the album. Either I’m going through it, I’m doing it, or I’m finna do it. It’s me, all me.
AllHipHop: What can we expect from your new project?
Unfoonk: Expect a lot of things. This time, I want to go uptempo a little bit. Just a little bit. I’m still going to be down low with the struggle. I’m still going to be all of that, but I want to let them know I can switch it up a little bit.
AllHipHop: We gon’ get some singing s### or what?
Unfoonk: Most definitely.
AllHipHop: What are you most excited for next?
Unfoonk: #1. I want to aim for the #1 spot. I hit #1, that’s what I want to aim for.
AllHipHop: 3 things that you need in the studio at all times?
Unfoonk: A Dr.Pepper, ice, and a pack of bubblegum. [laughs] I know folks say that’s weird. This boy said a Dr. Pepper, ice, a pack of bubble gum, and I’ma stay in the studio all night.
AllHipHop: How was it linking with Blac Youngsta?
Unfoonk: Oh man, we’ve got some shhh. We’ve got a song dropping. That’s brother, I had to hit y’all with that. It was amazing man because I be looking at celebrities like pstt, they don’t be paying attention to us folks that’s just coming into the game. But then again, I met him. He was down to earth. He said “I’ve been watching you bro. I’ve been watching your interviews.” He’s like “Bro, you can tell a real one from a fake one.” That’s where it picked up and we locked in together.
AllHipHop: He’s funny as hell too. Was it fun?
Unfoonk: Yes, very hilarious, but I get him. He’s going through a lot so he keeps himself laughing to keep from breaking down on some s###, that’s why I get him.
AllHipHop: What’re you most excited for this year as the world starts to open back up?
Unfoonk: I’m working because that means I get to do tours. I get to go on tour. I’ve been doing shows, I did a little something last night. I’ve got some shows coming up so I’m really trying to focus on getting this tour together.
AllHipHop: Anyone you wanna collab with that you haven’t?
Unfoonk: Yeah, Yo Gotti. It gon’ happen. I ain’t rushing it, it gon’ happen. He’ll get the wind of me and he gon’ make it happen.
AllHipHop: What do you like to do for fun, when you’re not recording??
Unfoonk: You won’t believe this, everybody says I’m an old person because I like to sit in the house. I like to sit in the house, meditate, walk around my house, think and chill. I just want to chill. I be around people all day, everyday. I be wanting to chill, facts.
AllHipHop: Anything else you want to let the people know?
Unfoonk: Yes, y’all stay tuned for me and Blac Youngsta “Silent” man. It’s coming very soon. Ya’ll will not be disappointed.
But if her partner does want to propose, she’d prefer he makes an investment in real estate instead of buying a token piece of jewelry to show his commitment to her.
“I’m happy where I am right now, I’m enjoying it. I’m not going to put nothing extra on it. If he want to marry me, he can get me an apartment building,” Tiffany Haddish told entertainment program Extra.
“Give me a duplex, an eight-plex, or something! (Friends will ask me), ‘What?! I thought you were engaged, where are your carats?’ ‘Carats? Girl, please, I got units…'” she quipped.
“This is going to appreciate over time. The ring might lose its value, but land, now that right there… I want a deed – that’s hot!”
Tiffany Haddish also admitted she doesn’t consider Common to be her “soul mate.”
“I wouldn’t say all that… I don’t even know if that’s a real thing… I’ve been married and divorced,” she added, referring to her first husband, William Stewart, who she split from in 2011 after three years of marriage.
“I believe people are there at the right time they are there for you… Maybe there’s multiple soul mates.”
Rising Decatur, Georgia recording artist Lala Jacey hits the stage as she recreates the Ice Cube classic film “The Player’s Club” for her hot new single “I Need Money.” In the visual, Lala plays the iconic character Diamond (Lisa Raye), a new stripper making her debut, which leads to a wild ride inside the strip club lifestyle filled with shady club owners, strippers and customers. The visual plays out a lot like the classic film with Jacey showing off hypnotizing dance moves while turning customers into fans with raunchy lyrics and catchy money-motivated hook.
Taking us to LaLa Land, “I Need Money” prepares us for the release of the debut EP, titled Welcome to LaLa Land. Before “I Need Money,” Jacey created a buzz on the B4L track “Together.” As she ascends throughout the underground, her musical aspirations are to collaborate with modern-day female Hip-Hop superstars Nicki Minaj, Cardi B and City Girls. “I Need Money” is available on all streaming platforms via own imprint.
Watch Lala’s paper chasing visual for “I Need Money” now.
Though he’s settled down now with a family of his own, Redman said that during his wildest and craziest days, he’d have reckless sex with all sorts of women. When they inevitably turned up pregnant, he’d pay for their abortions.
Uh…yay, fiscal responsibility? Although a condom would have been cheaper.
While these Redman revelations are certainly raw, they aren’t that shocking to anyone over the age of 40. While Gen Z looks at the Wu-Tang Clan and its affiliates as the cool and cuddly uncles on Hulu’s “Wu-Tang: An American Saga,” oldheads know how the Killa Bees really used to get down. Never mind the Method Man rumors that never seem to ever die — this is a group that gladly gave us “Ice Cream,” which is a great song, but it’s also about banging every broad in Richmond County that has a pulse, a legal ID, and gives consent.
Let’s also remember that there was a time that Redman and his affiliation with the Wu was in jeopardy when he “went soft” and married his longtime girlfriend instead of following the Clan protocol of tossing her out in the morning with well wishes and a CD copy of Enter the 36 Chambers.
Autographed, of course, because they were classy like that.
A YouTuber by the name of CeBe claims that the “Hot Girl Summer” rapper married her longtime boyfriend, Pardison Fontaine, in an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles last week. The pair, who have been together for more than a year, is reportedly “very happy” about their new marital status.
CeBe also claims that the couple confirmed their marital status at Jay-Z’s party celebrating the launch of the 40/40 Club. Reportedly, Megan Thee Stallion and Pardison Fontaine wore matching wedding bands at this event.
Take a listen to the evidence below.
Back in February 2021, Pardison Fontaine (who goes by the mononym “Pardi”) and Hot Girl Meg officially announced that they were an item. Pardi, who worked with Cardi B on a song of his own, is Meg’s most high-profile boyfriend since she played the are-they-or-aren’t-they game with Moneybagg Yo.
“I thought to myself, ‘Jay-Z is not going to do a song with somebody named Pardi McFly,'” he revealed. “So, I just dropped the McFly and I kept the Pardi,” he said to People Magazine (via Harper’s Bazaar) about his choice of name.
Thus far, there’s been no word from Megan Thee Stallion or Pardison Fontaine about the rumor. However, we’ll keep you posted and updated if they confirm — or deny — it either way. But if it’s true, congratulations are in order for the happy couple!
On October 8, The Hip-Hop Museum of Washington, DC is hosting a distinguished induction ceremony. Several legendary acts from the culture will be honored at the event.
Rakim, Kool Moe Dee, Pete Rock, Nice & Smooth, and DJ Kid Capri will be inducted into The Hip-Hop Museum of DC on that date. Quan is scheduled to deliver the induction speeches.
“At a time when honoring Hip Hop has become en vogue, there is no other organization properly and professionally giving these American icons their flowers the way The Hip-Hop Museum does,” states Quan.
Comedian Russell Peters will serve as the host for the Grand Induction Gala. Plus, the self-described Hip Hop aficionado will sit down with the inductees for a special taping of his Culturally Cancelled podcast.
“Even as a Canadian kid, Hip Hop raised me, and it’s the lens thru which I’ve seen the world,” offers Peters. The Hip-Hop Museum’s Executive Director, Master Gee, will also be in attendance.
Master Gee is one of the founding members of the legendary The Sugarhill Gang. The creators of the classic song “Rapper’s Delight” were the first group inducted into the museum.
“Hip Hop is America’s largest cultural export, and is now a multi-trillion dollar global industry that needs to be preserved and honored,” said Jeremy Beaver, Founder of The Hip-Hop Museum Pop-Up Experience.
Beaver continued, “By creating and archiving the world’s largest Hip-Hop Museum collection and hosting these historic induction ceremonies we hope to contribute to the preservation of Hip Hop history and culture.”
The Hip-Hop Museum of Washington, DC’s art gallery will be open to the public seven days a week from noon until 8 pm, beginning on October 9. The museum is located inside Listen Vision Studios at 2622 Georgia Ave, NW.
Back in 2002, Shad “Lil Bow Wow” Moss starred in the sports comedy movie Like Mike. The John Schultz-directed production grossed over $62 million at the global box office.
David Nelson’s Like Mike 2: Streetball was released direct-to-video four years later. However, that film does not feature any of the original cast members. Jascha Washington (Big Momma’s House) played the main character in Like Mike 2.
It looks like the veteran entertainer now simply known as Bow Wow is ready to create another Like Mike-type movie. The rapper/actor took to Twitter to tease a third version of the basketball-themed film is in the works.
We are working on a like mike sequel. Its all just ideas as if now. But yes we have been talking. So far so good https://t.co/s3ApPHshmc
“We are working on a Like Mike sequel. It’s all just ideas as [of] now. But yes we have been talking. So far so good,” posted Bow Wow on Wednesday morning.
The Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta cast member added, “Shhhhh….. another gem ima drop. It won’t be called LIKE MIKE. But LIKE someone. We are taking our time with this one. I believe this [might] be bigger than [the] original. Can’t wait.”

This is the first time Kanye West has led the Songwriters and Producers rankings. He became the twelfth act to take the pole position on both charts at the same time.
J. Cole pulled off the double victory earlier this year following the release of his latest album, The Off-Season. West and Cole join Nigro, Finneas, David Stewart, Louis Bell, Metro Boomin, OZ, Ricky Reed, Taylor Swift, TBHits, and The Weeknd as the only other acts to top both charts simultaneously.
Kanye West also leads the latest Billboard‘s Artist 100. That particular chart measures music acts’ performance on the Hot 100 song chart, the Billboard 200 album chart, and the Social 50 chart.
Twenty-three songs off Donda landed on this week’s Hot 100. “Hurricane” is Ye’s highest-charting song at #6. Only four artists (Kanye West, Drake, Lil Wayne, and Lil Uzi Vert) have scored at least 20 tracks on the Hot 100 in a single week.
Blackground Records 2.0 continues to present Aaliyah’s catalog on streaming services for the first time. Up next is the late singer’s 2001 self-titled album.
Aaliyah is scheduled to arrive on streamers this Friday, September 10. The studio LP was originally released six weeks before Aaliyah Haughton and eight others were killed in a plane crash in the Bahamas.
Aaliyah initially opened at #2 on the Billboard 200 before climbing to #1 after the Detroit native’s death. The project is certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
Songs such as “We Need a Resolution,” “Rock the Boat,” and “More Than a Woman” live on the Aaliyah album. Production was provided by Timbaland, Eric Seats, Rapture Stewart, J. Dub, and Bud’da.
There have been highs and lows this year for Taurus “Polo G” Bartlett. The 22-year-old Chicago-bred rap star scored his first #1 single and #1 album on the Billboard charts in 2021.
Polo G was arrested again on September 6 in Los Angeles after officers allegedly found two loaded firearms during a traffic stop. The Columbia recording artist was said to be the passenger in the vehicle.
According to Los Angeles County Sherriff’s Department, Polo is presently a free man. The Hall of Fame album creator was released on a $35,000 bond. His next court date is set for January 6, 2022.
Future has become somewhat of a poster boy for toxicity, with social media becoming awash with memes of the rapper. Recently, he tapped into his humanitarian side putting on a benefit concert to bring awareness and much-needed funds to Haiti’s ongoing crisis.
This past weekend, Future performed at the concert on behalf of his non-profit “FreeWishes Foundation.” What’s more, according to “The Shade Room,” one hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to Haiti restoration efforts.
“The least I can do is be of assistance to the people who have supported me unconditionally,” Future said. “Our foundation works all year round to assist local initiatives in Atlanta and around the country and we are excited about assisting Haiti.”
The concert took place this weekend in Miami, Florida, and included performances from artists such as Kodak Black and Babyface Ray. The event was hosted by industry strategist Karen Civil and media personality Supa Cindy. Future created “FreeWishes Foundation” 11 years ago alongside his mother Stephanie Wilburn and sister Tia Wilburn. Over the past decade or so the organization has reached out to provide resources for children, families, and others disenfranchised in Metro Atlanta.
A Trippie Redd performance at the MECU Pavilion in Baltimore, Maryland on Monday night ended in gunfire after his tour bus was shot up in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Dj Akademiks shared a post on Instagram detailing the incident which included a video clip of a “WBAL-TV” report.
“Hip Hop artist Trippie Redd had just wrapped up a performance at the MECU Pavilion on Inner Harbor,” the reporter explains in the video. “After the show, 10 members of a concert crew boarded a bus headed for the airport. According to police, just before 3 a.m. Tuesday morning, a driver pulled alongside a passenger side of the bus and fired a gun multiple times.”
Though the media personality captioned the post: “Allegedly someone shot at #trippieredd tour bus after his show in Baltimore. No injuries were reported .. thankfully.” “WBAL TV” reports that this is not, in fact, the case.
They report that the tour bus had just left the MECU Pavilion in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor to head to the airport. A passing motorist pulled up to the side of the bus and opened fire just before 3 a.m, one of the bullets hitting the bus driver. The unidentified driver then pulled off the roadway onto the departure lanes of Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport to get help.
It is unknown who the intended target of the shooting was. Elena Russo, spokeswoman for the Maryland State Police said, “Part of the ongoing active investigation is to determine whether this was a targeted incident or not.”
“Police have been working with the passengers on board the bus as well as a few motorists who were driving by who did see the incident so there are a few conflicting details in terms of what kind of vehicle was involved and what that suspect might have looked like,” Russo said.
Also unknown is whether Trippie Redd was on board at the time of the shooting although the ten members of the concert who were on the bus are reportedly unharmed.
No charges have been filed or arrests made at this time and the investigation is ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information relevant to this incident to contact the Glen Burnie Barrack at 410-761-5130.
