Chris “Play” Martin Of Kid-N-Play is an iconic artist, actor, producer, emcee and overall great person, but this evolution is the result of a lengthy journey. That journey has lead him to the release of a new movie for fanatics of dance, one of the cornerstones of Hip-Hop Culture. “And I Danced” runs through the rich history of dance, dancers and the vast impact the culture has had on us all.
“And I Danced” is not the only thing he’s given the dance community. Play also explains how the infamous “kick step dance” between him and Chris “Kid” Reid REALLY came about. He also discusses his outright struggle to overcome the incredible success he’s attained. Now living a far more righteous live, Play discusses what lead up to putting a gun to his head and almost ending it all.

However, it was the clip of Kanye listening to the music with his hands lifted in the air that grabbed fans’ attention, as he could clearly be seen wearing his wedding band on his left ring finger.
Commenting on Kanye’s reaction, Khaled added, “You know when you get this expression that it’s sounding AMAZING! this album (has) GODS HANDS IS ALL OVER IT.”
Kanye has yet to publicly comment on his marriage breakdown. Kim pulled the plug on the 2014 marriage, by filing for divorce in February.
She asked for joint legal and physical custody of their four children: North, Chicago, Saint, and Psalm.
The hip-hop star reacted to the legal action earlier this month with identical custody requests.
Kim, meanwhile, has been spotted out and about without her wedding ring for some time.
Honey or vanilla-flavored Backwoods soon will not be available at the corner store and your blunts might be a little less tasty as the government positions itself with a massive prohibition on some of the hood’s favorite roll-ups.
The Food and Drug Administration revealed that menthol tobacco cigarettes and all flavored cigars will be banned in the United States. Let the jitters begin!
The organization, responsible for regulating what is safe for American consumption, believes that these big tobacco companies are making certain flavors pronounced in their products because … you know … minorities like sweets stuff. It also asserts that this is a great move that will help with improving health and wellness within communities (Black, Hispanics, and children) shackled by disease related to smoking these products.
The tobacco industry targets African Americans, LGBTQ, youth and other minorities with its beautiful lies about menthol tobacco. But these communities are standing up to the industry. They know the ugly truth about menthol. https://t.co/vvEtHzMbR2@ANSRMN @UglyMenthol #mnleg
In a statement released on its website, the authorities noted:
“Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced it is committing to advancing two tobacco product standards to significantly reduce disease and death from using combusted tobacco products, the leading cause of preventable death in the U.S. The FDA is working toward issuing proposed product standards within the next year to ban menthol as a characterizing flavor in cigarettes and ban all characterizing flavors (including menthol) in cigars; the authority to adopt product standards is one of the most powerful tobacco regulatory tools Congress gave the agency. This decision is based on clear science and evidence establishing the addictiveness and harm of these products and builds on important, previous actions that banned other flavored cigarettes in 2009.”

The Acting FDA Commissioner Janet Woodcock, M.D further explained, “Banning menthol—the last allowable flavor—in cigarettes and banning all flavors in cigars will help save lives, particularly among those disproportionately affected by these deadly products. With these actions, the FDA will help significantly reduce youth initiation, increase the chances of smoking cessation among current smokers, and address health disparities experienced by communities of color, low-income populations, and LGBTQ+ individuals, all of whom are far more likely to use these tobacco products.”
“Together, these actions represent powerful, science-based approaches that will have an extraordinary public health impact. Armed with strong scientific evidence, and with full support from the Administration,” she continued. “We believe these actions will launch us on a trajectory toward ending tobacco-related disease and death in the U.S.”
— Public Health Law Center (@PHealthLawCtr) April 23, 2021
The statement also included statistics that many have suspected, but have in black and white from sound researchers and can lift as true.
If the nation banned menthol cigarettes, products that use the flavoring to mask the nasty taste of straight-up tobacco, within one year to one year and a half, 923,000 smokers may quit smoking. Among that almost 1,000,000-segment of the American population, it is believed that 230,000 would be African Americans. The research also suggests that 633,000 deaths would be prevented and almost a third (237,000) of that would Black people.
“For far too long, certain populations, including African Americans, have been targeted, and disproportionately impacted by tobacco use. Despite the tremendous progress we’ve made in getting people to stop smoking over the past 55 years, that progress hasn’t been experienced by everyone equally,” the Director of the FDA’s Center for Tobacco Products, Mitch Zeller, J.D. said. “These flavor standards would reduce cigarette and cigar initiation and use, reduce health disparities, and promote health equity by addressing a significant and disparate source of harm. Taken together, these policies will help save lives and improve the public health of our country as we confront the leading cause of preventable disease and death.”
This is a revolutionary act to ban cigarettes and flavored cigars. Outside of Nixon banning cigarette commercials in 1969/70, there are very few laws prohibiting the sale of the sticks (outside of requiring a license to sell them and an age limit on who can purchase them). There has been significant work to quell smoking in public spaces.
As of July 2018, 26 states have statewide bans on smoking in all enclosed workplaces, including all bars and restaurants, with five states allowing people to smoke in adult venues such as bars and casinos.
Dr. Dre has been instructed by a court to pay $500,000 to his estranged wife’s divorce attorneys.
Nicole Young – who has been married to the hip-hop icon since 1996 – had pleaded with Los Angeles Judge Michael Powell to compel Dre to pay $2 million per month in spousal support and $5 million for her attorney fees.
But, during a hearing, the Superior Court Judge ordered Dre to pay her lawyers $500,000 within 10 days.
A ruling on the spousal support matter has been postponed until another hearing on July 8th.
In a written ruling, the judge said: “Pending the next hearing dates on this matter, the Court grants only $500,000 in attorney’s fees to petitioner’s (Nicole’s) counsel … Fees are to be paid to petitioner’s counsel, no later than May 7.”
Dre has consented to go on with paying for Nicole’s monthly expenditures and will also continue to pay the mortgage on the Malibu home she lives in.
However, the producer has asserted he won’t pay for her security costs.
In January, Dre decided to pay Nicole $2 million in spousal support, which was to cover the period up until April 14th.
Nicole had been asking for more than $2 million a month but Dre’s lawyer previously told the court her client has been willingly reimbursing her for all her expenses since they split.
Nicole also pursued $5 million in attorney’s fees but her estranged husband said he has already spent close to $1 million voluntarily, even though the divorce documents weren’t even filed until June last year.
Dre has refuted Nicole’s accounts of emotional and physical abuse.
Although Nicole doesn’t work, she’s contended she “played an important role” in Dre’s career, which included being “integral” to the naming of his record label, Aftermath.
Nicole later filed another lawsuit, arguing she co-owns the trademark to her estranged husband’s name, along with that of his 1992 album The Chronic.
Cordae, along with Texas rapper Frazier “Trae Tha Truth” Thompson and other activists, were detained outside the home of Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron. Authorities charged the protestors with intimidating a participant in a legal process which is a Class D felony.
According to Cordae, he no longer has to worry about having a criminal record connected to his advocacy against police violence. The Lost Boy album creator took to Twitter to announce his attorney reportedly got the alleged offense wiped out.
My felony finally got expunged today S/O to my lawyer 🤞🏽
“My felony finally got expunged today S/O to my lawyer [crossed finger emoji],” tweeted Cordae on Wednesday morning.
Concerned citizens from around the country traveled to Louisville over the last year in order to bring awareness to the tragic killing of Breonna Taylor. The 26-year-old African-American woman was gunned down by three plain-clothed cops as they executed a “no-knock” warrant for someone that did not live at the location.
Over the last year, numerous Hip Hop artists have used their respective platforms to show support for Taylor’s family and to call on elected officials to pursue a murder case against the officers involved in her death. Doja Cat, Cardi B, Jack Harlow, Bun B, Rihanna, Bryson Tiller, and Megan Thee Stallion are among the celebrities who have taken action on behalf of Breonna Taylor.
This week, newly appointed United States Attorney General Merrick Garland revealed the Department of Justice is launching a federal probe into the Louisville Metro Police Department. Garland said, “The investigation will assess whether LMPD engages in a pattern or practice of using unreasonable force, including with respect to people involved in peaceful, expressive activities.”
Is a new J. Cole season about to begin? According to a social media post attributed to Bas, one of Cole’s Dreamville Records acts, the North Carolina-raised emcee could be ready to return with a new body of work by the end of May.
A screenshot supposedly taken from Bas’s verified Instagram page has been circulating on social media over the last day. The image shows J. Cole working in a recording studio. The caption reads, “🤯🤯🤯 The Off-Season. Pack your bags. 🚀 In two weeks.”
There have been conversations about the pending Off-Season project for years. Back in 2018, J. Cole dropped “Album Of The Year (Freestyle)”on SoundCloud. The description for that track read, “The Off Season coming soon… All roads lead to The Fall Off.”
Then in December 2020, J. Cole uploaded an Instagram photo of a notebook page. The phrases “The Fall Off Era,” “The Off-Season,” “It’s A Boy,” and “The Fall Off” were written in the Hip Hop star’s journal. Fans began speculating if Cole was hinting at a proposed release schedule.
While most of the recent attention has been on J. Cole possibly letting loose a collection of tunes called The Off-Season, there are still questions about The Fall Off project. The closing track of Cole’s 2018 studio LP KOD was titled “1985 (Intro to The Fall Off).”
KOD is J. Cole’s most recent solo album. He also spearheaded 2019’s Grammy-nominated Revenge of the Dreamers III compilation which featured contributions by Dreamville’s Bas, Cozz, Omen, Lute, Ari Lennox, EarthGang, and J.I.D. as well as special guests like DaBaby, Guapdad 4000, Buddy, T.I, Vince Staples, Ty Dolla Sign, Dreezy, and Saba.
Julius “Dr. J.” Erving is widely considered one of the NBA’s most accomplished players. However, the Hall of Famer’s recent comments about Los Angeles Lakers megastar LeBron James did not sit well with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
Dr. J showed up on an episode of Posted Up with Chris Hayes, and he shared his top-two fantasy teams in basketball history. The 71-year-old sports legend named Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, and Elgin Baylor as his starters.
Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Karl Malone, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar made Erving’s second team. However, 4-time NBA Most Valuable Player winner/4-time NBA champion LeBron James was omitted from both lineups which surprised some people.
“He’s the guy who has led the charge in terms of super teams…”@JuliusErving doesn't have LeBron on his top-two All-Time NBA teams 👀
“[James is] the guy who has led the charge in terms of super teams being put together. When he put together a team in Miami, he put together a team in Cleveland as well, and he put together a team in Los Angeles. So, he can pick his own team. I ain’t going to pick his team,” said Dr. J.
Hip Hop mogul 50 Cent was one of the people that took issue with Erving’s decision to snub the 17-time All-Star on what is essentially his list of the ten greatest basketball players. The G-Unit head blasted Irving on social media.
“Sounds like old hater s### to me! 😆,” wrote 50 Cent on Instagram in response to Dr. J excluding LeBron James from his all-time NBA teams. 50’s post received over 163,000 likes and more than 8,000 comments with IG users debating Dr. J’s take about James.

The 2021 Billboard Music Awards are set to air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on May 23 at 8 pm ET. Either Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, or Saweetie will walk away with a trophy.
Those three women were nominated for Top Female Rap Artist at this year’s BBMAs. The winner will be based on fan interactions such as album and digital song sales, streaming, radio airplay, and social engagement.
Billboard is determining the victor by analyzing chart information from March 21, 2020 through April 3, 2021. Cardi, Meg, and Saweetie all had successful runs over that time period.
Saweetie’s 2020 and 2021 included the release of “Tap In,” “Back to the Streets” featuring Jhené Aiko, and “Best Friend” featuring Doja Cat. Cardi B has won Billboard Music Awards’ Top Female Rap Artist honor the last three years.
In addition, DaBaby, Drake, Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, and the late Pop Smoke were nominated for Top Hot 100 Artist at the 2021 BBMAs. The Top Latin Male Artist nominees are Bad Bunny, Ozuna, and J Balvin.
On Thursday, Billboard will reveal the remaining Billboard Music Awards finalists at 11 am ET. Post Malone dominated the 2020 ceremony by winning nine awards, including Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Rap Artist, and Top Rap Male Artist.
Before you get sad for the “Pick It Up” artist, it has been discovered that he was stunting on the Gram with the watch and tried to pawn it to another jeweler.
Dex doesn’t seem to be worried.
He is posting fun pictures on his Instagram account and requesting for someone to do his hair while he is in Los Angeles.
On Friday, April 30th, Hype Williams will premiere a new music video for the song “Sorry Not Sorry” starring Jay-Z, Nas. James Fauntleroy.
This is an incredible feat as both rappers are considered in different rap genealogies to be the best rappers to ever touch the mic and there have been rumors of friction between camps dating back to the late 90s or early 2000s.
But we are talking about DJ Khaled!
“SORRY NOT SORRY” DJ Khaled feat. Nas, JAY-Z & James Fauntleroy and Harmonies by The Hive JAY-Z said:Khaled GOD LOVE YOU I said:I LOVE GOD! GOD BLESSED MY ALBUM. MY FAMILY BLESSED MY ALBUM. JAY-Z BLESS MY ALBUM. NAS BLESSED MY ALBUM. THE HIVE 🐝 BLESSED MY ALBUM. #KHALEDKHALEDpic.twitter.com/LfFkRxQmx9
And what we know about him is that he is a master producer and “bringer-togetherer,” who has made magic happen with just a phone call.
“Sorry Not Sorry” will not be the first song that the two have done together.
There are joints that you might have forgotten, only thinking about their epic beef on wax, “Ether” and “The Takeover,” which is still considered two of the best diss tracks to rock clubs, mixtapes, and radio sets.
One song that had the two sharing a track was “Regulate” from Nas’ 2018 Nasir album.
On his 2006 album, Hip Hop is Dead, the Long Island icons came together to produce the classic, “Black Republican.”
The two also appeared on a Swizz Beatz track called, “Just Because” that also included Jadakiss and DMX. This song was debut in 2017 on a Hot97 Live Stream that never was released.
Don’t worry … This won’t be the case for this DJ Khaled jam. It is all cued up for fans to hear a song that probably will shoot to the top of the charts.
The song will be on his new album KhaledKhaled out on Friday, April 30th.
🤲🏽 #KHALEDKHALED TRACKLISTING ALBUM THIS FRIDAY APRIL 30TH #FANLUV I Know I said ALBUM 100% DONE but it might be 101% 👀 STAY TUNED!
During a recent interview, Redman told AllHipHop that he was not going to act anytime soon — and was focusing on working behind the camera.
However, news has just dropped via social media that Reggie Noble, Hip-Hop’s Funk Doctor Spock, will be joining his partner in crime, Method Man on the next season of “Power Book II: Ghost.”
Get this … Redman will be playing Theo Rollins, Davis Maclean’s (Method Man) older brother.
In a video on the show’s Twitter, Method man is beaming as she shares the news.
“What’s up, this is Method Man and I am on the set of Ghost season 2 – Power book 2, season 2 – and guess who I’m shooting a scene with today,” Johnny Blaze reveals.
A wicked laugh comes through … and we see Newark’s own.
“That’s right, Funk Doc is on the scene!” he shared.
“Yes sir,” Redman added. “I’m playing his bro on Ghost Power: Book II, and it’s going to be fire!”
Fans will be delighted as the two have acted together in a cult classic movie, “How High.”
They also have over 20 years of musical collaborations that recently were celebrated during a VERZUZ competition on Monday, April 19th.
The character description of Theo Rollins has been released and he seems to be as crooked as Davis Maclean.
“Theo Rollins used to run the streets with his little brother, Davis MacLean. But now, they sit on opposite sides of the law with Theo serving an extensive prison term, and Davis, off his win in the Tasha St. Patrick case, now the biggest defense attorney in New York City. They both know, had the past played out differently, Davis could be locked up alongside his big brother, but Theo questions if the guilt’s enough for Davis to keep his promise.”
Redman has also been getting busy with new music. He just dropped “80 Barz.”
Lawyers for the estate of late rapper Nipsey Hussle are in the process of finalizing A settlement and a legal battle with his gang, the Crips.
A legal dispute broke out between Nip’s brother Samiel Asghedom aka Blacc Sam and a company called Crips LLC over ownership claims to the trademarked slogan, “The Marathon Continues.”
The Crips tried to trademark the phrase shortly after the rap star’s murder In front of his Marathon Clothing Store in March of 2019.
According to the latest court documents, the settlement is expected to be finalized on Monday (May 3rd).
Nipsey’s estate lawyer James A Bryant said both parties are in the process of finalizing the terms of a long-form settlement agreement.
Once all of the parties have signed off, the lawsuit is expected to be dismissed with prejudice, meaning another claim cannot be filed by either party over the issue.
Although it’s not likely, if the long-form settlement falls through for some reason, the case could also be reopened on May 3rd.
Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani just got raided by the feds.
The Feds advanced on his Manhattan apartment like under his leadership, the NYPD swarmed on many Black and brown NYCHA residents during his tenure as top city executive.
He was the mayor that the Hip-Hop police was galvanized under.
According to Derrick Parker, an NYPD detective who served on the force in the 1990s, Big Apple cops from the department’s Major Case Squad, was tracking Biggie right before he got murdered in 1997 in Los Angeles. Eventually, this “rap intel” unit, was lumped in with today’s NYPD’s Gang Intelligence Unit. Most NY rappers, who rap about street stuff, can tell you that this group of law enforcement has been investigating them.
Now … he is under investigation.
The government’s case against Giuliani has been two years in the making and this search (with a warrant) is to help tie up the federal prosecutors’ criminal investigation with him regarding his cooky relationship with the past president. Giuliani served as President Trump’s personal attorney.

As Trump’s lawyer, the US wants to know if illegal people went to the Ukraine and chatted up their politicians and leaders for dirt on Joe Biden, who was at the time running against his boss.
The New York Federal prosecutors got the warrant so that they could seize his devices hoping it will give up some details on any illegal activities like undisclosed foreign lobbying to get the US ambassador to the Ukraine dismissed, his role is interfering in the 2020 election and lies about various voting processes in Georgia.
Giuliani is now feeling the pressure that he has allowed the NYPD to inflict on minority communities. His use of racial profiling over militarized the police against those he was supposed to serve.
Rudy Giuliani Marc Nozell from Merrimack, New Hampshire, USA
According to Fred Mazelis for WSWS, “Giuliani had literally no interest in why, but he was obsessed with people’s fears and exploited that to the detriment of Black and Brown communities and to advance his own career. Against such exploitation of people’s fears and capitalizing off of the racist assumptions of who creates these fears, Dinkins didn’t really stand a chance.”
“Giuliani won the 1993 election introducing his ‘Quality of Life Campaign’ which is racist for we’re going to get Black and Brown people off the streets either in cuffs or casket. A campaign that heavily targeted low-level crime, for instance, this is when jumping a subway turnstile became an arrestable offense,” he continued. “Not to mention, NYPD had quotas to fill and those who made more arrests were awarded for it, so the pettier the crime the better: “The precinct-by-precinct tracking of so-called nuisance crimes, setting informal quotas for police supervisors and rewarding those who make more arrests, is certain to lead to increased abuses and violence against the city’s working population and the poor.”
The girl maintained Kodak forced her to have sex, even though she allegedly told him no, and to stop.
The girl also said Kodak bit her on the neck and her right breast, injuries that were revealed when she reported the alleged attack to a nurse at Richmond County High School.
Kodak was eventually indicted for first-degree criminal sexual conduct. He was released from the Florence County Detention Center in November of 2016 after posting a $100,000 bond.
The rap star pleaded guilty to first-degree assault and battery.
Kodak was facing up to 30 years, although the plea agreement spared him from a lengthier prison sentence.
The rapper was hit with a 10-year sentence, which was suspended for 18 months of probation. He Must also undergo counseling.
And, Kodak Black acknowledged his guilt and apologized to the victim during his court hearing.
In January of 2021, Kodak Black, real name Bill K. Kapri, was released from a 3-year prison sentence for lying on a federal application to purchase guns.
The rap star caught a life-changing break after Donald Trump pardoned him on his last day in office as POTUS.
The album was executive produced by Asahd and Aalam Khaled, the musician’s kids, and the duo also appear on the album cover alongside their dad.
Jay-Z, Nas, Meek Mill, Justin Bieber, Post Malone and Justin Timberlake are among the artists who have contributed to the LP.
“I have a gift for the world. I can’t wait to share it with you…I’m going make one more call for last min magic,” DJ Khaled said revealing a last-minute surprise collaboration which will be announced for the album today.
Khaled Khaled comes two years after his last album, Father of Asahd, which dropped in 2019.
Paid Pat is the next hottest artist to come out of Memphis, Orange Mound to be exact.
With his grandmother raising him, an illness resulted in a young Paid Pat finding himself at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where he became engulfed in the music of 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne. From that point on, he knew exactly that he wanted this lifestyle for himself.
From performing around campus in his college years to giving back to St. Jude on the regular, Paid Pat is far more than just a recording artist — but a hustler in his own right.
His first-ever song “Drip Drop” was released in 2018, and it’s been up ever since. Plus, meeting Waka Flocka Flame one evening on Beale Street would change the course of his music career completely, getting the cosign from one of the GOATS in the rap game.
Paid Pat describes himself as “just a chill ass n#### who likes to get money.”
AllHipHop: Being from Memphis, what was that like growing up?
Paid Pat: I feel like this s### made me. This s### wasn’t easy, but it makes it easier for what I’m trying to do now. It taught me how to hustle. I didn’t grow like a lot of people. None of this s### was handed to me. Growing up here put some hustle in me, to know how to get some money regardless.
AllHipHop: Biggest influences growing up?
Paid Pat: Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz. I f### with everybody music though, I be listening to all types of s###.
AllHipHop: What’s your favorite Lil Wayne song?
Paid Pat: Probably “Lollipop.”
AllHipHop: At what point did you realize that you could do music for a living?
Paid Pat: Probably going to the University of Memphis, that’s when they started showing most of my love. When I dropped my first real song, that went crazy. They was f###### with that s### off the jump, it was called “Drip Drop.” They were playing that m########### everywhere I go. That’s when I thought “aw yeah, you can really do this s###.” I still wasn’t even really focused like this. I really got my confidence like “yeah, I can really do this s###. This s### is me, this s### easy.”
AllHipHop: There’s a lot of fire artists coming out of Memphis, how does that feel?
Paid Pat: It’s making it look easy because the light’s on us right now. We ain’t never had no light on us like that where people tuned in. Most people stealing this s### and running with it. They make it look easy now, connect with different people and get my name out there more.
AllHipHop: When did you pick up the name Paid Pat?
Paid Pat: 3 years ago, I picked it up because I was hustlin’. My name’s Patrick so Pat’s short for Patrick. I put Paid in front of it because I always knew how to get some money. whether it was doing music, selling clothes or selling anything.
AllHipHop: You just put out “Bankroll,” how are you feeling?
Paid Pat: I’m f###### with that joint for sure, because the people f###### with it. It already got 548K views and it’s only been 2 weeks. It got 120K on Spotify. That s### lit. I be excited, chillin’ and waiting for this s### to pop.
AllHipHop: What were you on recording that one?
Paid Pat: I had a bottle of Hennesy in there. That’s how I vibe in the studio, a fifth of Henn and I’ma crank up. [laughs]
AllHipHop: How much gas do you need?
Paid Pat: Well that’s a part of my everyday routine so I be forgetting to count that sometimes. I gotta roll up back to back all day long. It gotta be exotic though. At first, I wasn’t no smoker like that so I’ll smoke anything. But now, I can’t smoke anything. I gotta have some exotic. It’s a different high. It’s a bougie high, I ain’t gotta do too much.
AllHipHop: How does cannabis improve your life?
Paid Pat: That s### be having me chill, that s### calm me down. I might be thinking of some crazy ass s###. If I didn’t have cannabis, we’ll be outside all damn night. Not rapping though.
AllHipHop: Best memory from the “Bankroll” video shoot?
Paid Pat: Having my little brother in that joint. He don’t be with the big cameras, so he jumped in that m########## for me. I was excited. It felt good because I know he be looking up to me. He wanted this s### for me more than I did, that’s what really made me start back doing this s###. I can tell he be tryna move like me. I know he really wants this s### for me. I didn’t want to let his ass down so I started back doing this s###.
AllHipHop: What does family mean to you?
Paid Pat: A lot, family means life itself.
AllHipHop: How much money you keep on you at all times?
Paid Pat: I keep at least a cool $10K on me for sure. I ain’t saying it like it’s a good thing though, it ain’t even good for me to walk around with that much. But $10K, you might catch me with a $30K or something on me. I ain’t gon’ go overboard.
AllHipHop: Do you spend like crazy also?
Paid Pat: Hell yea, that’s why I be having it on me. It might be some s### I dropped off and I’m picking it back up. This s### gotta get spent, I don’t know when my expiration date is. [laughs]
https://www.instagram.com/p/CNlVqAtp3Cz/
AllHipHop: Talk about your relationship with Waka Flocka.
Paid Pat: That’s big bro for sure. He’s a mentor. He’s just a real n*gga. He’s the one who really motivated me to do this s### again too. The time he called my phone, I wasn’t even on no rapping s###. I’d already made my mind up, I was through with this s###. I didn’t know what I was gonna do with my life, but I knew I was gonna go do something.
I gotta make some money regardless. F### the music s###! But then he called me like, “You need to get back on that s###, what you doing?!” So I got back on the s###. It’s crazy because that’s what really made me want to do it, because I didn’t have nobody. Everybody knew who I was, but I didn’t have no big names really f### with me genuinely. Him calling me out the blue, damn okay. I can do that s###.
AllHipHop: How’d y’all meet initially?
Paid Pat: He’d came down to Memphis, I didn’t know he was gonna be down here. We’re chillin’ on Beale street and he’d came down Beale Street, everybody’s screaming and running. Damn, who’s this? I seen him because he big as hell. He walked past us and said, “Damn, what y’all young n*ggas on?” Everybody else screaming and running. I might be a fan of your music, but I might not be a fan type s###.
I didn’t know what he was gonna be on. We’re chilling, we ain’t finna do too much. He walked up to us like “what y’all got going on?” I told him who I was, he told me to DM him on Instagram. Immediately I’m thinking he’s just talking. He ended up sending me his number and we been locked in ever since. He said he knew I was a star when he seen me type s###.
AllHipHop: How does that make you feel?
Paid Pat: The s### was lit. The s###’s crazy because this the same person who’s music I used to listen to in middle school. I never knew we’d be cool as hell.
AllHipHop: Y’all got a song together?
Paid Pat: Nah, we finna do a tape together though. We ain’t got no song yet. I be focused on me, I’m not into looking for features or none of that s###. I want the people to know who I am. I don’t want the people to look at me like “oh this is Paid Pat who got on because of Flocka.” I want them to see me, not “this him who I’m on the song with.” Nah, I want them to see me. My tape finna be just me.
AllHipHop: You got a name yet?
Paid Pat: Pay Up. It’s coming out in a couple months.
AllHipHop: Is “TrapMixGod” gonna be on there?
Paid Pat: Nah, that’s just a single. “TrapMixGod” is almost 2 years old, something I been had in my phone. I ain’t even like the song, Flocka liked the song. He said “bruh, you gotta put this song out bro.” I said “I don’t wanna put that old ass s### out.” [laughs] We ended up putting it out and it did what it did.
AllHipHop: What were you on when you recorded “Took A Break”?
Paid Pat: That’s when I was getting back on the business. That’s why I said “took a break,” because I took a break from the industry.
AllHipHop: How long?
Paid Pat: Probably a year and a half. I don’t even know what I was doing. Everything, in the way. Just bullshitting.
AllHipHop: When’s “Hollywood” dropping?
Paid Pat: That’s dropping on the tape. I had a shot at a little studio, on the green screen, then we went back to the hood. We came back to Memphis. It’s “real n*gga, I’ll never ever go Hollywood.” So we went back to the hood.
AllHipHop: How’s the independent grind been?
Paid Pat: This s### tough, but you gotta be ready for this s###. You gotta make the people f### with you. Everybody’s there for the moment. They riding the wave, whoever got it at that moment. If you coming up, they ain’t too much focused on you like that. You gotta stick with that s###. The s### gon’ pop. The s### gon’ happen when it happens, you can’t really force that s###. People be tryna force it when you ain’t gotta force it. Everybody gonna get a turn, you don’t know when your turn.
AllHipHop: What’re you most excited for when shows open back up?
Paid Pat: I’m excited to travel more and do shows. When all this s### opens back up, I’ma be more busy. I’ma be moving back and forth on some everyday s###. I’m ready for this s### really to move and see different places, new people.
AllHipHop: What can we expect next?
Paid Pat: The project, exect the project in a couple of months. I’m wrapping it up now so the s### finna come out. I might drop something in between time, some singles. But the project’s what I’m focused on right now.
AllHipHop: Is there someone you’d like to collab with?
Paid Pat: Polo G. I f### with Polo G, but that s### gonna happen when it happens.
AllHipHop: Anything else you wanna let the people know?
Paid Pat: Never give up on your dreams. Watch out for all the fake love ‘cause that’s what I’m getting right now. I had a buzz a couple years ago, but I started bullshitting and I wasn’t focused on that s###. A lot of people had just changed up on me, just left me. I’m talking in middle of the road for dead type s###. I got up and did this s### again by myself, people real deal left. I got back up and did it by myself. The same people hit me back up now like, “Damn, I knew you could do it!” All that fake ass s### man, a n#### don’t wanna hear that s###. Watch for that s###, it’s gonna be a lot of that s###.
Some of these guys are built different. Rapper – I thought he was a singer – Anyway, Baby Blue is back in the strip club, even though he got shot just about a week ago. My first thoughts are that this is “this grown a$$ man is nobody’s baby!”
BABY BLUE Whoaaaa
He is a full grown man that is now showing his true strength and dad bod! I didn’t expect to see him in a strip club so soon, because Baby Blue reportedly had to learn how to breathe and walk again after he was shot. He’s a fast learner! He was in ICU and asking for prayers! Clearly, those prayers got answered!
Well I got to tell you, that man is out already and doing his thing, like a Pretty Ricky, boyyeeeeeeee! I am not sure that he needs to be doing all that so soon after a robbery attempt almost claimed his life. Furthermore he has some legal issues that are looming too. The feds charge that he bought a $96,000 Ferrari and numerous other things with a fraudulent PPP loan(s). Why do y’all play with the Feds? So, surviving the shooting may be a gift and a curse, because he will have to do some reallegal wrangling to get out of that situation. By the way, he is facing life in jail!

But, anything but dead! Dead is not good!
Now do you self a favor Rapper Baby Blue and get out of the club. Get your life together bro and don’t let the haters get you again!
Lauren London was determined to return to work following the death of Nipsey Hussle to inspire her children.
The 36-year-old actress’ former partner was shot dead in March 2019, but Lauren thinks it’s important to set a good example for her kids by returning to work.
Lauren – who had four-year-old son Kross with Nipsey, as well as 11-year-old son Kameron with Lil Wayne – said: “We can’t stop, you know? We do have a purpose, all of us, and it’s important for my sons to see me moving forward with grief, not just curling up in a ball, because I curled up in a ball for a long time.
“But especially for my eldest son because he’s just a little more aware … But we will continue moving on as we had to, as he would want us to.”
Lauren stars opposite Michael B. Jordan, Jodie Turner-Smith and Jamie Bell in “Without Remorse,” and she actually filmed the movie shortly after Nipsey’s death.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “We shot it in 2019 I believe – and forgive me, my memory doesn’t serve me so well after grief and everything.
“Michael reached out to me as a friend and he was so unsure if I was even going to ever work again. And he was like, ‘Look, I’m unsure if this is what you want to do, but I have to follow my intuition, I have to ask you if can you just read the script.'”
Lauren also admitted that Nipsey’s death has changed how she approaches her career.
She said: “Moving forward in my life, I kind of don’t want to do anything that I can’t really truthfully contribute and I felt like I could truthfully contribute to this project.”
Eminem once spent $600 on a cassette copy of Nas’ studio debut album Illmatic.
A lifelong collector, the “Without Me” hitmaker loves chasing down hard-to-find items and when he decided he needed an unopened copy of the 1994 classic, he went all out to get his hands on one.
“Man, I couldn’t find that s### nowhere,” Eminem told Paul Rosenberg and DJ Whoo Kid during a Clubhouse room chat as part of his Shady Con online event.
“I finally found one and it cost like 500 to 600 dollars for a sealed copy,” Eminem added, “because who the f### had a copy of Illmatic and didn’t open it? Nobody.
“I think it’s backstock from what record stores had in the back storage – the tapes that never sold, so they just kept them and sold them online. That’s the only thing I can think of.”
The rapper launched his digital festival, Shady Con, last week, giving fans the chance to own a variety of Eminem-approved non-fungible token (NFT) collectibles, as well as some original instrumental beats.
