2Pac Murder Suspect Keefe D Found Guilty Of Multiple Charges Stemming From Prison Fight

The man accused in the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur has more legal problems. On Wednesday (April 9), Duane “Keefe D” Davis was found guilty of multiple charges stemming from a 2024 prison fight.

According to KTNV Las Vegas, a jury found Davis guilty on two counts: battery by a prisoner and challenges to fight. His sentencing is expected to begin on May 27.

Davis was arrested on September 29, 2023, marking a pivotal moment in the decades-long investigation into Shakur’s murder. Davis, a former gang leader, was indicted by a Las Vegas grand jury on charges of murder with the use of a deadly weapon.

Authorities allege that Davis orchestrated the drive-by shooting that killed Shakur, although he’s not accused of firing the shots himself. His deceased nephew, Orlando Anderson, is believed to be the shooter. Davis is accused of providing the firearm and authorizing the attack.

The arrest came after years of speculation and new developments, including Davis’s own admissions in interviews and his 2019 memoir, Compton Street Legend, in which he acknowledged his involvement in events surrounding the killing.

Shakur was shot on September 7, 1996, while riding in a car with Death Row Records co-founder Marion “Suge” Knight in Las Vegas. The shooting occurred at a red light following a confrontation earlier that evening involving Shakur Anderson.

Anderson was long suspected to be the gunman but was never charged and died in an unrelated shooting in 1998. Davis had previously implicated Anderson as the shooter during a 2008 interview under immunity agreements but later made statements outside those protections that prosecutors used to build their case.

Davis’s trial has faced delays as his legal team navigates procedural challenges. Initially held without bail, he later secured house arrest but remains incarcerated due to ongoing legal disputes.

The case has reignited public interest in one of hip-hop’s most enduring mysteries and highlighted issues such as gang violence and its impact on communities. If convicted, Davis faces significant sentencing enhancements for gang activity and the use of a deadly weapon. His trial is currently scheduled for February 2026, underscoring the complexity and longevity of this high-profile case.

Kanye West Says Sorry To JAY-Z But Stands By His Feelings

Kanye West issued a vague apology on X after his earlier remarks about Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s children reportedly prompted the couple to consider legal action.

“I’m sorry Jay Z,” West wrote in a post shared to his X account. “I be feeling bad about my tweet but I still feel I gave my life to this industry and thought so many people were my family but when I needed family on some real st none of these rap nias had my back.”

The apology came weeks after West publicly questioned the mental abilities of Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s 7-year-old twins during a series of erratic posts.

The comments were widely criticized as inappropriate and offensive, especially given the children’s age.

Following the backlash, reports surfaced that Beyoncé and Jay-Z were exploring legal options in response to what they called “vulgar and offensive” statements made by West.

While the original post was later deleted, West made it clear that his decision to remove it wasn’t driven by remorse.

“I need everyone to know that I took the post about Jay Z and Beyoncé’s family down because there was a possibility of my Twitter being canceled,” he wrote.

The apology did not directly address the children or clarify whether it was meant to retract those specific comments.

Kanye West Makes Wild Claims About Madonna & Ashley Olsen In Twitter Rant

Kanye West ignited a storm online with a barrage of sexually explicit posts, including claims of past encounters with Madonna and Ashley Olsen. The polarizing figure opened the floodgates earlier this week with a tweet referencing the pop icon.

“When I made out with Madonna she was bragging about how she f##### Basquiat and PAC,” he wrote. “I was like damn She love to brag just like meee.” He followed that with a reference to Ashley Olsen, writing, “I used to f### Ashley [Olsen] thats why the twins got the shot out on N##### in Paris.”

The tweets spiraled into a series of crude and graphic statements about other celebrities, including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and his own employees.

Several posts veered into misogynistic territory, with West making sweeping generalizations about women and sex.

“Every b#### sell p####,” he wrote, before going on to compare sex work, surrogacy and office dynamics in a string of vulgar metaphors: “A prostitute gives up p#### for an hour / A surrogate gives up they p#### for 9 months / A under qualified secretary gives up they p#### to their wife beaten boss / A wife gives up the p#### for life.”

Kanye West Justifies His Tweets

In another post, West appeared to brag about sexually assaulting employees and dismissed the Me Too Movement while boasting about his wealth and anatomy.

“This is how you tweet when you don’t second guess your self,” he added. “Oh and when you don’t have a boss / Oh and when you’re dumb rich / Oh and when you f##### very bad b#### on the planet / Oh when you’re dick is stupid long / Oh and when … you get the picture.”

West, who claimed he’s aiming to become the most prolific tweeter ever, showed no signs of slowing down during the late-night tirade.

Ne-Yo’s Four Girlfriend’s Won’t Date Anyone Else, But He Refuses To Be Tied Down

Ne-Yo doubled down on his unconventional relationship setup and clarified the rules of his polyamorous lifestyle during an appearance on The Angie Martinez Show.

Ne-Yo said the four women he’s dating—Cristina, Arielle, Moneii and Bri—chose to be exclusive to him, but the arrangement doesn’t go both ways.

The 45-year-old singer made headlines last month after revealing he’s romantically involved with multiple women. Now, he’s addressing the dynamic head-on, stating plainly that while he’s seeing several partners, they are not seeing other men.

When asked directly if his girlfriends are allowed to date other people, Ne-Yo responded, “No, no they are not.”

He elaborated, saying the decision came from the women themselves.

“When I got with these women, I did not ask for their exclusivity. I did not demand their exclusivity. They asked for it. They came to me and said, ‘I want to be exclusive to you and just you.'”

“I said, ‘You understand that your exclusivity to me, does not mean my exclusivity to you? You understand this, yes? You’re OK with it?'” he continued.

Ne-Yo also emphasized that transparency is key to maintaining the relationship.

“The main rule is to just keep it a buck. We’re not gonna lie. We’re not gonna lie to each other. We’re not gonna sit up here and blow smoke. I ain’t selling no dreams, and I’m not forcing anybody to be here,” Ne-Yo explained.

The father of seven made it clear that no one is being coerced into the arrangement.

“If for whatever reason you decide this isn’t for you anymore, the door is never locked. You have permission to go on about your business. I don’t want anybody to think that I’m manipulating these women into doing something they don’t want to do.”

Chrisean Rock Flaunts New Athlete Boo Days After Blueface Breakup

Chrisean Rock flaunted her new romance with college basketball player Tytan Newton on Instagram just days after confirming her breakup with Blueface.

The 24-year-old reality star posted a video to her Instagram Story on Wednesday night (April 9), showing her and Newton cozying up during what she called “date night.”

Other images captured the two kissing and embracing, making it clear she’s moved on from her tumultuous relationship with Blueface.

Newton, a sophomore guard at Morgan State University, has kept a relatively low profile, but his appearance alongside Rock marks his first public connection to the rap world.

The reveal came days after Rock announced she had ended her relationship with Blueface, citing a desire to focus on her faith and music. “I broke up with him before I dropped my gospel song,” she said on Instagram Live, referring to her newly released single, “Yahweh.”

Rock also explained that Blueface’s behavior contributed to the split, accusing him of being overly controlling. According to her, he became upset over her social media activity, accusing her of acting like a “pop star” for simply following people online. She further claimed that while incarcerated, Blueface used a burner phone to keep tabs on her public appearances.

“He went buck wild,” she said, describing his reaction to the breakup. “He unfollowed me and everything.”

Their relationship has long been marked by public fallouts, assaults, legal issues and social media drama. The couple welcomed a son in September 2023, but their rocky history has included arrests and violent attacks. Blueface is serving a four-year sentence for violating probation and is expected to be released later this year.

Toni Braxton Married Birdman Then Tried To End It Days Later

Toni Braxton secretly married Birdman in Las Vegas last August, then filed for divorce just two days later, citing an “irretrievably broken” relationship.

Court records obtained by TMZ reveal that the Grammy-winning singer and the Hip-Hop mogul exchanged vows on August 8, 2024, before Braxton filed for divorce less than two weeks later.

The documents list their separation date as August 10. The couple, who first began dating in 2016 and got engaged in 2018, have had a long and winding relationship.

They called off their engagement in 2019, later confirmed they were still together, and eventually parted ways in 2022.

TMZ reported, “Toni and Birdman quietly — and very secretly, obviously — tied the knot on August 8, 2024… the wedding date is mentioned in the divorce docs Toni filed 2 weeks later.”

Despite the abrupt filing, the pair apparently reconsidered. In January 2025, Birdman signed off on a motion to dismiss the divorce, effectively halting the legal split.

Braxton, 58, was married to musician Keri Lewis from 2001 to 2013. They share two sons. Birdman, 56, has never been married but has two children with a former partner known only as Tia.

The marriage and near-divorce remained under wraps until the court filings surfaced this week.

The Game & Kanye West Explode Into Beef Over Drake’s Friend—&Then There’s The Maybachs

Kanye West’s Maybachs and The Game’s loyalty to Drake’s associate Top5 have cooked up a whole plate of rap beef. The friendship is officially well-done cooked meat.

Kanye West, never one to keep quiet when things don’t go his way, reportedly went off on The Game over social media. He didn’t like that Game maintains ties with Top5, a pretty well-known Drake affiliate. This is about loyalty, something I didn’t know was really in Kanye’s Constitution. Apparently, Ye feels like Game should’ve picked a side. Spoiler alert: he didn’t.

Now here’s where it gets even more bizarre. Kanye West allegedly and seemingly gifted Game two Maybachs during their collaborative high. And the bromance is off the rails and he wants them back? YEP! This is going to get dicey.

The Game’s response? Straight savage!

Let’s rewind. These guys had been working closely on a new album, one that Kanye West was executive producing. The whole project might be headed to the graveyard in this form. And honestly? That might be a blessing in disguise.

Because let’s be real: Kanye’s recent antics haven’t exactly made him a media darling. Between the Black KKK cosplay (yes, that happened), the wild and flagrant jabs at the Jewish community, Kanye’s brand is in the toilet.

The Game, for his part, is no rookie in this. He’s well into OG territory and should understand that Ye can derail the mission. Game ain’t stupid. He squashed beefs, stayed cool with Top5 AT YE’s REQUEST! And kept it pushing. Look at it again!

This Maybach situation, I cannot wait to see how it plays out legally. – illseed out!

SIGNS: Florida Plane Crash Involving Car Kills 3 Day After Hudson River Helicopter Crash Kills 6

A small aircraft crashed in a fiery explosion Friday morning near Boca Raton Airport, killing all three people on board and injuring one man on the ground, according to city officials.

According to NBC Miami 6, the crash happened around 10:20 AM EST. in the area of Military Trail and Glades Road, near Interstate 95. The Cessna 310 had just departed Boca Raton Airport en route to Tallahassee International Airport when it went down minutes into the flight. Boca Raton Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Michael LaSalle confirmed the fatalities and said the injured man, Pablo Tafur, sustained non-life threatening injuries when his vehicle was engulfed in flames caused by the wreckage.

“One gentleman on the ground, he hit a tree because of all the debris and the fire,” LaSalle explained. “It was from the fireball on the ground, he drove through apparently the fireball.”

Tafur, who was driving to work when the plane crashed in front of him, described the terrifying moment.

“I saw the plane fly low and continued through and next thing I know it’s on top, right in front of me and exploded, impacted right in front of my car and it crashed,” Tafur said. “I tried to steer out of the way but it was pretty much unavoidable. Got out of the car that was on fire, through the flames, and made it to safety.”

Debris from the crash was scattered across the roadway and nearby train tracks. The Palm Beach County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene as authorities began collecting evidence.

Kurt Gibson, a National Transportation Safety Board investigator, arrived Friday afternoon to lead the federal investigation.

“Our mission at the NTSB is to figure out what happened, why it happened and what we can do to prevent this from happening again,” Gibson said. He noted that the 1977 aircraft had only been airborne for eight to ten minutes before the crash.

Student pilot Jared Scarpato, who was at Boca Raton Airport, said there were early signs of trouble.

“Somebody said on frequency that they are declaring an emergency for a stuck rudder,” he said. “All we heard five minutes after was just sirens, sirens, so just devastating.”

Witnesses in nearby buildings described the plane flying unusually low before it dropped from sight and exploded.

“It basically came back, it was looking like maybe it was going towards the airport, approaching and from there I just saw it drop below the trees,” said Dillon Smith. “I heard the boom and basically shake of the windows simultaneously.”

Mayor Scott Singer called the incident a “tragic loss of life” and offered condolences to the victims’ families.

The crash came just one day after a fatal helicopter crash in the Hudson River between New York and New Jersey claimed multiple lives, drawing national attention to a string of recent aviation accidents under investigation.

Environmental Hazards That Hip-Hop Should Highlight

Environmental injustice to underserved communities is real, but it’s rarely addressed in mainstream media. Yet, it’s everywhere. Across the United States, underserved communities face more exposure to toxic air, contaminated water, and harmful chemicals. These issues do not happen by chance. They result from years of zoning decisions, weak regulation, and a lack of political will.

Hip-hop reflects the reality of its audience. It has long been a voice for the people, shining a light on social and economic inequality. Today, it has the same power to expose and challenge environmental harm. This post looks at the health dangers hidden in underserved neighborhoods and why hip-hop should lead the conversation.

What the Data Says About Marginalized Neighborhoods

In many low-income areas, clean air is a luxury. Many Black Americans live near polluting facilities. These include oil refineries, chemical plants, and waste incinerators. Such places release harmful particles that can settle in the lungs and cause serious health problems over time.

According to Gallup News, Black Americans are the most concerned racial group about pollution. 53% of Black adults are “very” or “fairly concerned” about air pollution where they live. Furthermore, 46% of Black Americans are concerned about contaminated drinking water. Their concerns are based on real, ongoing environmental health risks in the U.S.

Black women and children are at the highest risk of dying from asthma complications. The American Lung Association reports Black Americans are 1.5 times more likely than other groups to be diagnosed with asthma. They are 5 times more likely to visit the emergency room and 3 times more likely to die from asthma-related issues. Many of these individuals live near industrial zones or highways where air quality is poor.

Cities also heat up faster in low-income areas. CNN highlights that summers in the U.S. are becoming hotter, mainly due to human-driven climate change. Cities suffer the most from heat due to the urban heat island effect — roads, buildings, and sidewalks trap more heat than natural landscapes. This effect can raise city temperatures by up to 20°F. Due to this, children, the elderly, low-income families, and those in poor housing suffer the most.

But one threat often missed in the conversation is toxic firefighting foam—specifically aqueous film-forming foam, or AFFF. Used for decades by firefighters, AFFF contains PFAS, a group of chemicals now linked to severe health issues. These chemicals seep into soil and water, especially near airports, military bases, and fire stations. Once in the groundwater, they are nearly impossible to remove.

In many cases, communities living near these sites are low-income and majority Black or Latino. These groups are more likely to live in areas with chemical exposure but are less likely to receive help. In response, people suffering from AFFF contamination filed lawsuits against manufacturers. TorHoerman Law says plaintiffs allege that manufacturers know about the potential risks but failed to clearly warn the public.

The AFFF lawsuit settlement amounts range widely according to the severity of the health condition caused by PFAS chemicals. According to Consumer Shield, the settlements are grouped into tiers:

  • Tier 1 ($200K–$500K)
  • Tier 2 ($150K–$280K)
  • Tier 3 (up to $75K)

As more cases are filed, the scale of the damage becomes clear, especially for underserved communities that had no say in their exposure.

Hip-Hop’s Role in Raising Voice

Hip-hop has always reflected life in overlooked communities. Its voice comes from streets shaped by struggle, strength, and survival. That voice now holds a powerful place in culture.

According to Spotify, nearly 25% of all Spotify streams globally in 2023 are hip-hop. Roughly half of Spotify’s Top 50 most-streamed artists globally are hip-hop artists. This influence places artists in a unique position, not just to entertain but to inform.

Across decades, hip-hop has documented injustice. It has tackled poverty, policing, and politics. However, the environmental challenges that surround many of these communities have not received the same attention.

Now, that must change. Air and water pollution are not just science or policy issues. They are daily realities in many of the neighborhoods where this music was born. These issues touch the lives of fans and families who breathe in smoke from nearby plants or drink water from contaminated pipes.

Today, artists hold a platform that moves people quickly. Millions follow their songs, interviews, and social feeds. This means that one post or lyric can reach audiences faster than most news outlets. When an artist raises a concern, it becomes part of the conversation.

Social media has only increased this reach. Artists no longer need a newsroom to broadcast a message. A short video about a community’s air quality or a caption linking to a local water crisis can spread across platforms within hours. These posts can mobilize support, raise donations, and bring attention to stories that are otherwise buried. Real change often starts with awareness, and artists can help bring that awareness forward.

Some are already taking steps. In recent years, artists have collaborated with grassroots groups to support mental health, housing, and criminal justice reform. Expanding that focus to environmental justice is a natural next step. The audience is ready, the message is urgent, and the community needs advocates with reach.

As these voices grow louder, policy can shift. Communities can gain protection. And fans, especially younger ones, can grow more informed about the hazards around them. This is more than a moment in music. It is an opportunity to raise awareness and push for accountability through a cultural force that people already trust.

FAQs

How did hip-hop influence American culture?

Hip-hop influenced American culture by shaping music, language, fashion, and social attitudes. It gave voice to marginalized communities, sparked discussions on race and inequality, and popularized streetwear and slang. Its impact is seen across entertainment, politics, advertising, and youth identity nationwide.

Who is the father of hip-hop?

DJ Kool Herc, born Clive Campbell, is widely recognized as the father of hip-hop. In the early 1970s, his unique DJing style at Bronx block parties, especially isolating and repeating breakbeats, sparked the development of hip-hop music.

How does environmental racism affect communities?

Environmental racism places toxic industries and landfills near low-income and minority neighborhoods. This causes polluted air, unsafe water, and long-term chemical exposure. These conditions lead to higher rates of asthma, cancer, and other illnesses. Affected communities also face economic setbacks and limited healthcare access.

Environmental hazards like toxic air and chemical waste hit underserved communities first and hardest. These dangers are not rare. They are daily realities shaped by policy, neglect, and silence.

Hip-hop speaks for the people. That voice is needed now. Not just in clubs or charts but in city council meetings, school forums, and online movements. Artists, fans, and the culture have a chance to push this issue forward.

Bhad Bhabie Uncovers History Of Abuse By Mom’s Ex-Partner In Emotional Talk With Ari The Don

Bhad Bhabie has alleged that one of her mother’s ex-boyfriends perpetrated an egregious assault against her, which left her with lifelong trauma as a result.

During her recent appearance on Ari “The Don” Fletcher’s Dinner With The Don podcast, Bhad Bhabie opened up about her early home life with her mother—whom she rose to viral fame with following their appearance on the Dr. Phil show in 2016.

While describing her experience at the infamous Turn About Ranch children’s facility following her appearance on on the talk show. Bhad Bhabie revealed she was sexually assaulted by her mother’s ex-boyfriend. When asked if she was molested at the ranch, Bhad Bhabie denied it but uncovered an even more troubling admission.

“Not there, but in life? Twice,” Bhad Bhabie said.

As Bhad Bhabie continued, she detailed the years-long trend of abuse she faced while also revealing the pattern she fell into following the assaults.

“Well, I was molested by my mom’s ex-boyfriend from three to six and then I was molested by from 13 to 16. And then I had 30 year old boyfriends when I was 16, 17, 18.”

Bhad Bhabie went on to say that even though she reported the abuse, the man was not arrested and suggest authorities did nothing about the abuse.

“Nobody ever goes to jail when it comes to me,” she said.

Elsewhere during the episode, Bhad Bhabie discussed how she plans to explain her abusive relationships to her daughter when she gets older after Ari Fletcher remarked on son with G Herbo asking about a dispute he found of his parents online.

“I’ll tell her I’ll just talk to her about it, I don’t care,” she responded. “I’m not just gonna like, ‘Oh yeah you know we was boxing,’ like, no. I’m not just gonna like, you know, ‘We went through some things but we’re here now and we’re good’.”

Soulja Boy Declares His Innocence After Ruling Grants Hundreds Of Thousands More In Civil Case

Soulja Boy has declared his innocence following the ruling in his Jane Doe civil lawsuit trial.

On Friday (April 11), a jury verdict assessed nine claims against the “Crank That” rapper stemming from a 2021 complaint filed by a former employee of his who accused him of rape, assault and more. Per the jury verdict, Soulja Boy must pay $4,000,000 in compensatory damages to the plaintiff as well as an additional $250,000 in punitive damages.

Soulja Boy addressed the public outside of a courthouse in Santa Monica with a statement expressing frustration and disbelief in the legal system’s handling of the case.

“Today, I stand before you deeply disappointed in the verdict delivered in my case,” Soulja Boy began, reiterating the opening of his message. “I firmly believe that the decision made in court was not based on facts or substantial evidence but rather on factors that were outside of my control.”

He went on to criticize the role of the jury and their absence during the events in question, implying that their detachment from the facts contributed to an unjust result.

“The truth was overshadowed by the involvement of individuals, such as the jury, who were not present during the events in question and I feel like the system allowed external influence to shape the outcome,” he said.

Soulja Boy also took issue with the anonymity granted to the accusers, suggesting it compromised the fairness of the process.

“The use of Jane Doe as the identity of the accusers raises serious concerns about fairness,” he said. “Keeping these individuals anonymous while I’m forced to face public scrutiny creates an unequal playing field.”

According to Soulja Boy, the civil case was motivated by financial interests.

“This case was never about justice. It was about money and personal gain, and I will not let that stand,” he said. “I am committed to filing an appeal and fighting for the truth to be revealed.”

Ending his statement on a determined note, he affirmed his commitment to clearing his name

“I will continue to stand by my decision and believe that I did not commit the crimes I’m accused of,” he said. “Thank you to everyone who has supported me during this time. I promise that I will fight until the end to clear my name and expose the truth.”

According to legal affairs reporter Meghann Cuniff, civil judgements in the state of California are valid for 10 years. The plaintiff’s lawyers reportedly said they will pursue Soulja Boy for the next 20 years if he doesn’t pay the ruling in full.

”We’re gonna be going after him and his assets,” the lawyer said. “Whether he’s on tour, whether he’s doing TikTok live.“

EXCLUSIVE: 6ix9ine Ordered To Court, Could Be Heading To Prison Over Multiple Violations

6ix9ine’s splashy celebration after ditching his ankle monitor could land him back behind bars.

The rapper, whose legal name is Daniel Hernandez, is scheduled to appear in federal court on April 21 at 10:30 a.m. after Judge Paul Engelmayer ordered him to answer for multiple supervised release violations.

The court summons comes just weeks after 6ix9ine marked the end of his house arrest by diving into a pool while music blared and friends cheered him on.

The March 24 moment was shared online, signaling what he hoped was a fresh start after months of confinement.

But the celebration may have been premature. Despite shedding his ankle monitor, 6ix9ine remains on federal probation until November 2025.

His release terms—set after he cooperated in the blockbuster RICO trial involving numerous Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, including his former manager.

The rapper’s deal included strict travel restrictions, mandatory drug testing, and a ban on firearms. His legal troubles have stacked up over the past two years.

In October 2024, he was arrested in New York for unauthorized travel to Las Vegas, skipping drug tests, testing positive for methamphetamines, and lying to his probation officer.

He pleaded guilty to five violations and served 45 days in jail. The judge at the time noted the offenses were not “gravely serious” but warned him about continued noncompliance.

Then, in March 2025, law enforcement raided his Florida home during a probation check, seizing firearms and narcotics.

While he wasn’t arrested due to lack of evidence, authorities detained him for several hours and collected DNA samples.

Now, Judge Engelmayer will decide whether the latest violations warrant more jail time. If the court finds him in breach of his supervised release again, the rapper could be sent back to prison.

The summons to court caps off a bad week for the rapper. He dropped two new songs, “HANNA” and “POPPA,” which were greeted with critical reactions from listeners on social media.

Kendrick Lamar & SZA Release “Luther” Video

Kendrick Lamar and SZA have finally unveiled the sultry visuals for “Luther,” their chart-topping collaboration from Lamar’s unexpected 2024 album, “GNX,” juxtaposing intimate romance with classic soul nostalgia.

Directed by Karena Evans, the visuals for “Luther” blend elegance with subtle storytelling, capturing both Kendrick and SZA in tender moments alongside their respective love interests. The video artfully concludes by paying homage to Cheryl Lynn and Luther Vandross, whose soulful original “If This World Were Mine” gently fades in, reminding viewers of the enduring legacy embedded within Lamar and SZA’s####.

Lamar dropped “GNX” unexpectedly in November, silencing persistent whispers of an impending release. The album swiftly conquered the Billboard 200 chart, becoming Kendrick’s fifth consecutive project to debut at number one—a testament to his unfaltering grip on Hip-Hop’s throne. All 12 tracks off the surprise album debuted simultaneously on Billboard’s Hot 100, with five making prominent placements. Last month, “GNX” reclaimed its crown, marking its third non-consecutive week as the nation’s top album.

Initially debuting at number three on the Billboard Hot 100, “Luther” momentarily dipped in the charts but rocketed back, capturing the coveted No. 1 position after Kendrick and SZA electrified audiences at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. The track has since solidified its dominance, holding the number one spot for an impressive seven-week run.

Kendrick Lamar and SZA are now preparing to ignite stages nationwide with their anticipated “Grand National” joint tour. Set to kick off on April 19 in Minneapolis, the tour promises electrifying performances in major cities, including Atlanta, East Rutherford, and Los Angeles, before closing out dramatically at Northwest Stadium in Washington, DC, on June 18.

The visual release of “Luther” not only reinforces Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s chemistry but serves as a compelling appetizer for their live performances, ensuring the buzz surrounding their collaborative genius remains at a fever pitch.

Big U Enters Not Guilty Plea In Massive Federal Case Tied To Crips

Eugene “Big U” Henley pleaded not guilty in federal court to a sweeping 43-count indictment that accuses him of running a violent criminal ring tied to the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips and orchestrating the 2021 killing of an aspiring Las Vegas rapper.

Big U, a former gang leader turned community figure, is facing charges that include racketeering, murder, extortion, wire fraud, embezzlement and transporting individuals for prostitution.

Federal prosecutors allege he led a criminal organization dubbed “Big U Enterprise,” which they say operated as a front for a range of illicit activity, including human trafficking, illegal gambling and financial fraud.

According to the indictment, Big U ordered the murder of 21-year-old rapper Rayshawn Williams after the young artist released a diss track aimed at him.

Williams’ body was discovered in a ditch off Interstate 15 in Las Vegas.

The charges also include violations of the RICO and Hobbs Acts, bank fraud, tax evasion and misuse of public funds.

Prosecutors claim he submitted fraudulent applications for COVID-19 relief loans and improperly diverted money from the city’s Gang Reduction and Youth Development program.

Authorities say the alleged schemes defrauded taxpayers and impacted celebrities, including NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal.

Big U, who turned himself in last month, has maintained his innocence publicly. If convicted, he could face life in prison or a sentence spanning several centuries. His trial is scheduled to begin May 20.

He previously served 13 years behind bars after a 1991 conviction for attempting to steal cocaine from an undercover officer.

Former Bad Boy Artist Chopper Hits Back At Stevie J With Explosive Claim About His Ex

Chopper reignited an old feud with Stevie J by claiming he slept with the producer’s girlfriend in 2003 after feeling insulted over recent comments about the infamous “cheesecake” walk from Making the Band 2.

Speaking with The Art of Dialogue, the former Bad Boy rapper didn’t hold back when responding to Stevie J’s recent remarks mocking Da Band’s reality TV moment.

Chopper said the disrespect crossed a line, prompting him to air out a long-held secret involving Stevie J’s then-partner.

“I felt disrespected, you heard me,” Chopper said. “I felt like I never done Stevie J done nothing for him to speak on us in that way.”

He followed that up with an unexpected revelation: “But at the end of the day in Puerto Rico, I f##### your b####, now let that blow your mind, you heard me. Let’s start there. Yeah, I f##### your b####.”

Though he didn’t name the woman, Chopper’s blow your mind” reference led fans to speculate he was talking about rapper Eve, who was reportedly dating Stevie J around that time and is known for the 2001 hit “Let Me Blow Ya Mind.”

According to Chopper, the alleged encounter happened during a trip to Puerto Rico in 2003—right around the time Making the Band 2 was filming and tensions within Da Band were high.

Chopper clarified that his issue wasn’t with the group or the show itself but with Stevie J’s tone in revisiting the cheesecake storyline.

“Put Da Band to the side,” he said. “If you disrespect Chopper City, I’mma come by mine. Period.”

Nelly Demands Sanctions After “Frivolous” St. Lunatics Lawsuit Dropped

Nelly has fired back in court after St. Lunatics member Ali Jones dropped a copyright lawsuit over songwriting credits from Country Grammar, demanding sanctions for what his legal team called a “frivolous campaign.”

Ali Jones, the final St. Lunatics member still pursuing legal action against Nelly, quietly pulled the plug on his lawsuit on Thursday (April 10) without offering any explanation or confirming a settlement, per Digital Music News.

Initially filed in 2023, the suit accused Nelly of failing to appropriately credit and compensate his longtime collaborators for their work on the rapper’s 2000 breakout album Country Grammar.

Jones had alleged that Nelly, born Cornell Haynes Jr., “had no intention of providing the plaintiffs with any such credit or recognition” despite promises made to the group.

However, the legal effort quickly lost momentum after fellow St. Lunatics members Murphy Lee, Kyjuan and City Spud publicly distanced themselves from the case, saying they never approved any legal filings.

Now, Nelly is asking the court to hold Jones and his attorneys accountable for what his legal team described as a wasteful and meritless legal stunt.

“Plaintiff’s counsel succeeded in its frivolous campaign aimed at forcing [Nelly] to spend money defending Plaintiff’s ridiculous time-barred claims,” Nelly’s attorneys wrote in a court filing. “The Court is respectfully requested to retain jurisdiction and set a briefing and hearing schedule [for potential sanctions].”

In his lawsuit, Jones claimed he and other St. Lunatics members were denied proper credit and royalties for their creative input on Country Grammar, which went on to sell over 10 million copies and launch Nelly into Hip-Hop superstardom.

Despite the case being dismissed, Nelly’s legal team is pushing for the court to impose financial penalties on Jones and his legal representatives, citing the costs incurred during the defense.

Drake Gets Roasted Online Over Top5’s Instagram Post

Drake appeared in a selfie alongside controversial rapper Top5 during a night out in Ontario, prompting a flood of online reactions.

On Thursday night (April 10), Top5 uploaded an Instagram carousel featuring footage of Drake. He captioned the post, “The President & The Boy.”

“u did him dirty as hell on the first slide,” one commenter wrote, calling out the unflattering angle.

Another added, “Who the hell is that,” while someone else joked, “Why drake look like Jim jones?”

Drake’s hairstyle also drew attention, with one user asking, “How fast does my dawgs hair grow wth. He just cut it and got the braids back already?”

Top5 praised Drake’s chart success in a video posted on TikTok. “When your big bro got the No. 1 song in the world,” he said. “Undefeated.”

Drake’s Controversial Relationship With Top5

The two have maintained a close relationship for years, with Top5 often referring to Drake as his “twin.”

Their connection reportedly began at OVO Bounce, a basketball tournament hosted by Drake that draws Toronto’s Hip-Hop scene together.

Drake has continued to support Top5 despite the rapper’s legal issues. In 2024, Drake allegedly contributed to Top5’s legal defense in a first-degree murder case tied to a 2019 shooting. The charges were dropped in September 2024 due to inadmissible evidence.

In January 2025, the pair were seen courtside at a Toronto Raptors game, even after music executive Wack 100 publicly warned Drake to cut ties with Top5, calling him “bad news” and claiming to have damaging information about him.

Top5 was arrested again on January 24, 2025, facing six weapons-related charges. He had just been released in September 2024 after spending three years in custody.

Despite the controversy, last fall, Top5 claimed he was launching a podcast with Drake to dissect Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us.” The podcast never materialized.

Top5’s history of inflammatory remarks, including threats toward Kendrick Lamar, has only added to the scrutiny surrounding his association with Drake.

Donald Trump Hit With Legal Blow In Central Park Five Battle

Donald Trump‘s attempt to shut down a defamation lawsuit tied to his 2024 debate remarks about the Central Park Five was rejected Thursday by a federal judge in Pennsylvania.

On Thursday (April 10), U.S. District Judge Wendy Beetlestone ruled that the case brought by Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana, Kevin Richardson, Antron Brown and Korey Wise could move forward, denying Trump’s motion to dismiss, CBS News reports.

The lawsuit centers on Trump’s comments during a presidential debate with then Vice President Kamala Harris, where he falsely stated the five men had confessed and were responsible for killing someone.

“They admitted — they said, they pled guilty. And I said, well, if they pled guilty they badly hurt a person, killed a person ultimately,” Trump said during the debate. “And if they pled guilty—then they pled we’re not guilty.”

Harris had criticized Trump on stage for his long-standing role in the case, referencing the full-page newspaper ad he took out in 1989 calling for the death penalty after the five teens were arrested.

“A full-page ad in The New York Times,” Harris said. “Calling for the execution of five young Black and Latino boys who were innocent, the Central Park Five.”

The five men were exonerated in 2002 after DNA evidence and a confession from another man cleared them of the 1989 rape and assault of a jogger in Central Park. Their original convictions were vacated after years of public scrutiny and legal battles.

Central Park Five Seek To Hold Donald Trump Accountable In Court

Nonetheless, Trump’s legal team argued that his remarks were opinions based on past events and not legally defamatory. Additionally, they claimed the lawsuit was politically driven and lacked merit.

However, Judge Beetlestone disagreed, allowing the defamation claims to proceed. The judge also dismissed a separate claim of intentional infliction of emotional distress.

The plaintiffs, now referred to as The Exonerated Five, are seeking monetary damages and punitive compensation. They allege Trump’s statements caused further harm to their reputations and caused emotional injury.

Their attorney said they now intended to hold Trump accountable for what they say are false and damaging public statements.

Funny Man George Wallace Breaks Down Comedic Timing & Black Joy In “Clean Slate”

Comedy legend George Wallace has made a career out of telling the truth—by lying hilariously. In a candid and laugh-filled conversation with AllHipHop, the iconic comedian opens up about his role in the new Amazon Prime series Clean Slate. Furthermore, he tells AHH’s Quierra Luck the importance of using humor to tackle tough topics, and why love, a little bit of foolishness is the antidote the world needs right now. George Wallace delivers more than jokes in this conversation. He offers a philosophy for joyful living.

AllHipHop: Glad to have you, George!

George Wallace: Thank you for having me.

AllHipHop: I feel like I’m hosting the show now.

George Wallace: It’s your show — you’re hosting! Thank you so much.

AllHipHop: No problem, thank you for your time. Let’s get into it. In stand-up, timing is everything. Did you find that comedic timing was key in balancing humor and seriousness in your role on Clean Slate?

George Wallace: Totally! Wait a second, hold on now. You’re talking about stand-up and timing. I guess that’s part of it, but this was acting. This was different. Sure, there are laughs, but this was more about acting than stand-up.

That said, I enjoyed it. I loved how the jokes were presented. And yes: timing matters. Especially with the timing of this show, the climate in America… it’s perfect.

AllHipHop: How do you think humor helps people, especially in the Black community, process difficult conversations like the ones explored in Clean Slate?

George Wallace: You’re feeling it already. When we do it with humor, somebody’s going to sit back and say, “Wait a minute…” and then they might start thinking, “Maybe I should reconsider my thoughts. I could be a better parent. A better child. A better grandma.”

If Harry, my character, who’s probably the most stubborn person you’ve ever seen, can learn, then anybody can. Some people hate and don’t even know why they hate. My dear, and sometimes folks are taught to hate just because someone else said so.

We’ve got to get rid of hate and discriminatory practices. Period.

AllHipHop: Did this role impact you in any personal way?

George Wallace: Nah. It didn’t change me. That’s just me. I’m George. I’m going to love you no matter who you are or where you come from. It doesn’t bother me. I live a blessed life.

I’m the most successful comedian-slash-entertainer you’ve ever met. Not by money, but by joy. It’s about how you enjoy your life while you’re living.

If I kick the bucket tomorrow, well, I’m smart enough not to kick the bucket. I’m going to walk around it! But seriously, I’m just blessed to be living and to teach others to enjoy life. That’s what I’m about. My whole family has always been like that, full of love and fun.

AllHipHop: What did you love the most about Clean Slate?

George Wallace: What I loved was presenting a package of love. It’s about helping people see how much easier life is when you lead with joy.

Enjoying life should be your number one priority. If you wake up with a frown, you don’t have to do that. Wake up and smile. Smiling is powerful.

You ever seen a baby smile for the first time? It lights up the whole world. You walk into a room with a smile, and it can change the whole energy. People feel better when you come in. That’s what I try to do. I bring laughter, bring joy, bring love.

AllHipHop: I know you’ll probably say “love” again, but what’s one thing you want people to take away from this show?

George Wallace: Appreciate everybody. Like the preacher once said at a revival in Georgia: “If everybody in this world was just like me, what kind of world would this be?” I never forgot that. And I thought if everybody was like me, that would be a great world.

AllHipHop: Why should everyone be like you? What does it mean to be “more like George”?

George Wallace: It means being understanding. Loving. Doing unto others as you’d have them do unto you.

And also? Telling lies — funny lies. I’m a comedian, I love to lie! Not in a hurtful way – just for fun. I’ve been taught lies all my life. That’s why I tell them.

You go to church, and the preacher says, “I won’t be long.” That’s a lie! Santa Claus? Lie. Tooth Fairy? Lie. Cheesecake Factory? Ain’t no damn factory!

Everywhere you look — lies! Vitamins say “take two,” but why? Or food delivery says “free” — but try not tipping the driver and see what happens.

Even Q-tips — the doctor says don’t put them in your ears, but what else are we doing with them? Lies! Sugar is bad — then they say, “Don’t use the substitute either.” Eggs are bad — now we can’t even afford them! It’s madness.

I can keep going. I go in the grocery store and see a can that says “Evaporated Milk.” If it’s evaporated, what’s in the can, Jesus?!?

AllHipHop: Did you just say Jesus?!

George Wallace: Yes I did! But you see my point? Now you’re gonna start seeing the world different.

And that’s okay. It’s fun to say silly things. It helps you learn. People say dumb things all the time — like just a few weeks ago in Detroit, someone came up to me at the airport and asked, “Mr. Wallace, what you doing at the airport? You going somewhere?”

What kind of question is that?! No, I came here to do my laundry!

AllHipHop: [laughs] That’s wild. Well, thank you so much — I know we’re out of time.

George Wallace: Thank you! God bless you. And no matter what you do — keep smiling.

AllHipHop: Yes sir — thank you again!
