50 Cent Confuses Michael Jackson For Drake

Micheal Jackson and Drake are widely viewed as two of the most successful recording artists of their respective generations. Apparently, 50 Cent got the two icons mixed up.

Last night (September 14), 50 Cent shared a personal story on the X social media platform. The G-Unit Films and Television Inc. founder recalled an unexpected interaction over a t-shirt he had on.

“I’m in the gym working out and this girl says you like Michael Jackson? 👀I said this [is] a Drake shirt fool, then I Googled and this popped up. 🤷🏽‍♂️ WTF. 🤨 I had to apologize!” wrote 50 Cent.

Additionally, 50 uploaded photos of the black shirt that featured two eyes on the front. The original merch apparently came from Micheal Jackson’s Dangerous World Tour which took place in 1992 and 1993.

The cover art for the Dangerous album also included an image of MJ’s eyes. The self-proclaimed King of Pop released the 8x-Platinum Dangerous in 1991. His classic album, Thriller from 1982, is 34x-Platinum.

Aubrey Drake Graham has his own list of Platinum-certified projects too. For example, 2011’s Take Care crossed the 6x-Platinum mark. The Canadian’s Views also earned 6x-Platinum certification.

For his part, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson can claim to have one of the best-selling Hip-Hop albums of all time. The Recording Industry Association of America certified 2003’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’ as 9x-Platinum.

Plies Says America Fears Kamala Harris Because She’s A Black Woman

There has been a lot of discussion in the political media about President Joe Biden running for re-election at 80 years old. Florida-bred rapper Plies believes the worry about Biden’s age has more to do with his possible successor, Kamala Harris.

Joe Biden heads into the 2024 United States presidential election as the presumptive nominee for the Democratic Party. Vice-President Kamala Harris is expected to join Biden on the ticket once again.

However, some pundits think Biden could drop Kamala Harris as his running mate in 2024. Plies went on X to share his thoughts on the supposed concern about Biden’s age and the negative feelings for the VPOTUS.

“The reason this age thing is front & center with Biden is [because] who he appointed as his successor!” posted Plies on the morning of September 14.

He also added, “It’s one of America’s biggest fears & that’s a woman running this country. Let alone one of color! It’s not about Kamala Harris it’s more about two things America FEARS! Women & color.”

Plies is not the only rapper to see his name connected to the VP over the last week. Kamala Harris recently hosted a Hip-Hop 50th Anniversary celebration in DC which featured Common, Lil Wayne, and more.

According to FiveThirtyEight, Kamala Harris’s current approval rating sits at 39.5%. Joe Biden has a 40.9 approval rating at the moment. The Biden-Harris campaign won in 2020 with 51.3% of the popular vote and 306 Electoral College votes.

U.K. Rapper Digga D Shares Video Of Alleged Attempt On His Life

Digga D claims he survived an attempt on his life after the vehicle he was in was shot at multiple times. 

The U.K. chart-topping rap star who recently declared Drill is “done,” shared a video of the shooting on Instagram Friday morning (September 15), posting a car riddled with bullet holes. 

In the first of a trio of images, Digga D posted a photo of a Mercedes Benz SUV with multiple bullet holes in the windshield.  

The second slide is a short video clip, seemingly of Digga D in the SUV. The rapper is recording a selfie as three apparent shots ring out before the clip cuts abruptly.  

A third photo also shows even more bullet holes in the vehicle with an additional two in the rear passenger window. 

Digga D captioned the post: “Cherish God More,” alongside a prayer hands emoji.

In his Instagram Story, the West Londoner claimed many other British rappers have experienced life-threatening attacks but refuse to admit it. 

“What soldier you know goes to war & don’t get shot or shot at,” Digga D began his post. “Most these punk uk rappers have experienced it & are embarrassed to talk about it cause they don’t stand on business! They rather just show u the good side.” 

He continued, “I’d rather show you the Real side,” adding, “Remember death is a place of no return.” 

Digga D concluded by warning his peers: “Don’t go out wrong trying to impress a bunch of people that will forget about you. Whatever religion you are, keep praying no matter what Cherish God More CGM.”

Tory Lanez Cussed Out Reporter As He Was Led To Prison After Losing Bail Motion

Tory Lanez was headed to prison on Thursday (September 14) after a judge denied his bail motion, but not before the rapper/singer fired off a parting shot at a journalist.  

Last month, Judge David Herriford sentenced Tory Lanez to 10 years in prison for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020.  

Despite Lanez’s pleas to be released on bail so he could stay with his family while working on his appeal, Judge Herriford rejected the motion.  In his reasoning, the judge cited Lanez’s previous felony conviction for a violent offense and history of violating court orders, in addition to his foreign citizenship. 

After the hearing concluded, Tory Lanez reportedly stared down a journalist on his way out of court before insulting her. Legal Affairs And Trials reporter Meghann Cuniff, who has covered the case from the outset, shared an update after court.  

“I didn’t hear it and I’m still working to see if transcript has it, but I’ve confirmed Tory Lanez chose to use his final courtroom moments to profanely insult me,” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter). 

Cuniff alleged Tory Lanez called her “a googly eyed b####” while looking at the gallery. “Conflicting reports on whether he named me. A fitting end,” she added.  

Tory Lanez’s Lawyer Blasts Journalist

Cuniff’s case coverage has earned her the nickname “Megan Thee Reporter.” However, Lanez’s legal team criticized the journalist, accusing her of being biased against their client. 

Last month, Jose Baez, who did not represent Lanez at Thursday’s hearing, citing a “prior commitment,” took aim at Cuniff after she noted Baez had not filed a motion for bail more than two weeks after indicating it was forthcoming. 

The journalist questioned if Baez prioritized Lanez as he was ” posting Instagram stories from Italy,” at the time.  

“This blogger has had a clear bias against Tory and has attacked everyone associated with him as well as made numerous inaccurate assumptions,” Baez wrote. “In fairness to her, she has no legal training and has never worked in the court system, so her opinions have little to no merit whatsoever.” 

For Thursday’s hearing, Tory Lanez hired a new legal team, Unite The People, which provides legal services to inmates. Shooting At Sexyy Red Video Shoot Reportedly Leaves One Dead, Another Injured

A gunman reportedly opened fire during a Sexyy Red video shoot on Thursday night (September 14), fatally shooting one person and leaving another injured. 

The St. Louis rapper was filming a music video at Oakland Park Flea Market in Broward County, Florida. Earlier in the day, videos from the shoot showed a chaotic scene as fans crowded the location to appear as extras in the video for Sexyy Red’s upcoming single “Shake Yo Dreads” 

However, TMZ reports a nearby shooter pulled a gun and began firing before fleeing the scene. One person was fatally shot and pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds. The severity of their injuries was unknown. One victim was reportedly found at a gas station, the other at the flea market.   

Sexyy Red responded to the shooting on Instagram. The Neighbourhood Talk shared videos from the scene, including one with the writing “sexyy red set shot up.”

“Rip to whoever that was,” the “Pound Town” rapper wrote. “Smh that’s sad.” 

Miami-based radio host Supa Cindy claimed to have witnessed the incident but said the shooting happened near but not at Sexyy Red’s video shoot.  

“I was there,” she wrote on Instagram. “The shooting didn’t occur at the video shoot, but instead, it happened across the street at a gas station. offering my prayers for the victim’s family.” 

Local ABC affiliate WPLG reported police swarmed the area at around 8:00 p.m. According to the outlet, “Deputies were seen by Local 10 News cameras taking two people into custody.” 

Nas Celebrates His 50th Birthday With Release Of Final Hit-Boy Album, “Magic 3”

The prolific duo shared the album less than two months after the second offering in the Magic series. The 15-track project clocks in at just over 45 minutes and includes only one feature. Lil Wayne makes a guest appearance on track No. 6, “Never Die.”

Magic 3 marks the end of one of the most prolific partnerships in Hip-Hop, with Nas and Hit-Boy leaving a legacy of two epic trilogies. French Montana Gives Back 500 Canoes To African Community

Morocco native French Montana is reportedly giving back to an African community in need. According to Premium Times Nigeria, the rap star donated 500 canoes to the Makoko community in Lagos State.

French recently shot a video for his new song, “Wish U Well” with Swae Lee and Nigerian singer Lojay, in the area. Makoko, which is a floating slum settlement located on Lagos Lagoon, is also called the “Venice of Africa.”

Montana said he could tell how important boats are to the community, particularly because water is such a lifeline and boats are especially important to get goods and services to the residents of Makoko.

“As an immigrant from Morocco, giving back to communities in Africa, the place that raised me, is so important,” he said. “When I was filming, I met local leaders who talked about the daily struggles and aspirations of the wider community. I was moved by their spirit and positivity, which inspired me to get involved and to help impact change.”

The artist is also donating $100,000 to the Morocco Earthquake Emergency Relief Fund, which will help water, food, shelter and medical support.

He put out a press release stating he’s partnering with Global Citizen and CARE to address the devastating earthquake that happened on Friday (September 8), about 72 kilometers (44.7 miles) southwest city of Marrakech.

The “Unforgettable” rapper also made the announcement during the Tuesday night’s (September 12) 2023 MTV VMAs.

“A want from to send light and love to Morocco,” he told Billboard. “It’s been a devastating earthquake that just hit over there. They still digging people from the ground. I am setting up an emergency fund.”

Desiigner Reportedly Ordered To Register On Sex Offender List

Desiigner may land on the sex offender registry after pleading guilty in an indecent exposure case. According to court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight and TMZ, a judge ordered the former G.O.O.D. Music artist to register as part of his sentence.

The 26-year-old rapper accepted a plea deal earlier this month. He pleaded guilty to one count of obscenely and indecently exposed genitalia in a public place.

Desiigner, whose real name is Sidney Selby, was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to pay a $5,000 fine. His sentence included 120 hours of community service and an order to undergo a psychological, psychiatric or mental health evaluation.

While on probation, Desiigner cannot have access to any firearms or ammunition. He must work at least 30 hours a week and submit to drug testing.

Desiigner was arrested for exposing his genitals on a flight from Tokyo to Minneapolis in April. He revealed his mental health struggles after the incident.

“For the past few months I have not been OK, and I have been struggling to come to terms with what is going on,” he wrote on Instagram Stories. “While overseas for a concert I performed at, I had to be admitted into a hospital, I was not thinking clearly. They gave me meds, and I had to hop on a plane home. I am ashamed of my actions that happened on that plane. I landed back to the States and am admitting myself in a facility to help me.”

Desiigner avoided jail time thanks to his plea deal. He faced up to 90 days behind bars.

Tory Lanez Takes Another Loss: Judge Denies Him Bail

Tory Lanez failed in his bid to stay out of prison. Judge David Herriford denied the rapper/singer’s motion for bail in Los Angeles on Thursday (September 14).

“The motion will be denied and proceedings concluded,” Judge Herriford said per Meghann Cuniff.

Tory Lanez, whose release name is Daystar Peterson, requested bail while appealing his conviction for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. A jury found him guilty of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, discharging a firearm with gross negligence and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle in December 2022.

Last month, Judge Herriford sentenced Tory Lanez to 10 years in prison. The Canadian artist received 305 days of credit for time served.

Lawyers filed a motion for bail in August. They hoped a judge would allow Tory Lanez to live with his wife and son in the Los Angeles area while his legal team appealed his conviction.

Judge Herriford rejected the request, citing Tory Lanez’s violent felony conviction and past violations of court orders. The judge also mentioned concerns over the former Interscope Record signee not being a U.S. citizen, which lawyers tried to downplay in their motion for bail.

“Although the Peterson family originally hails from Canada, they do not have strong ties to this location,” attorneys argued. “Mr. Peterson does have a close friend who is like family that he helps provide for her child, despite this not being his biological child. Additionally, a couple of Mr. Peterson’s siblings live in Canada but frequent the Los Angeles area to join their family. The converse is not true, as Mr. Peterson does not visit his home country often. When he does, it is for employment and at this time he will visit his friends and family.”

Tory Lanez will serve his 10-year sentence in state prison. He maintains his innocence.

Rapper Syko Bob Tragedy: Mom Found Shot Dead In Van

The mother of South Florida rapper Syko Bob, identified as Dorothy Smart, was found dead in a van in Fort Lauderdale.

The horrifying discovery was made in the evening, around 6 p.m., when the Fort Lauderdale police responded to a distress call at the intersection of Northwest 30th Way and 21st Street. 

The van was parked in a driveway with the back windows shot out, and the rapper’s mom, whom locals affectionately called Dee Dee, was found mortally wounded inside the vehicle.

Neighbors told WPLG Local 10 that Syko Bob’s mother was a “lovely person” and an “absolutely great person to be around.” The investigation into the tragic incident is ongoing, with detectives fervently working the area for any evidence that might shed light on the circumstances surrounding her targeted killing. 

Currently, no arrests have been made in connection with the case. 

Violent incidents have plagued Syko Bob and his associates over the last two years. In 2021, Syko Bob narrowly escaped death during a broad daylight shootout in Southern Florida. 

That incident saw gunmen opening fire on Syko Bob and his associates at a busy intersection in Lauderhill, Florida. 

Despite sustaining minor injuries, the rapper and his crew managed to escape the assailants, who fled the scene after a high-speed chase that resulted in a crash. 

In March of 2023, Syko Bob was sentenced to five years in prison over a gun charge he caught in January of 2022 when he was stopped for speeding in Collier County, Florida.  

A vehicle search turned up a loaded gun stuffed between the front and passenger side seats.

Trey Songz Entourage Member Reportedly Wanted For Shooting In NYC Strip Club

A member of R&B singer Trey Songz’s entourage reportedly endangered hundreds of people in a New York strip club earlier this week. Now, a video has emerged showing the suspect and the chaos his actions allegedly caused.

According to the New York Post, the incident happened around 5 a.m. local time on Monday (September 11). The crew was at the gentlemen’s club in  Midtown Manhattan near Seventh Ave and West 30th Street.

The person was allegedly arguing with someone in a different crew at the club, which ultimately led ton gunfire. Surveillance footage from inside of the club captured everything and showed Trey Songz wasn’t involved in the shooting. Although everyone panicked in a mad dash to escape, nobody was hit.

Once investigators arrived at the scene of the crime, they only found one shell casing in the club. Now law enforcement is currently looking for the man who is described as being in his 20s, wearing black sweatpants, a black sweatshirt, and white sneakers.

While Trey Songz is not a person of suspicion in the case, he’s had his fair share of controversy over the years. He’s currently facing legal trouble for a 2013 incident in which he allegedly exposed a woman’s breast at a pool party outside of Connecticut casino. She later sued Songz, 300 Entertainment CEO Kevin Liles, Atlantic Records and his production for sexual assault.

He just pushed back his first tour in nearly three years, and right now, music is the last thing that appears to be on the agenda for the Whole Lotta Red innovator.

Amid all of this, though, apparently Carti, Lil Uzi Vert and La Flame have been cooking up, and the “Magnolia” lyricist decided to debut a sneak preview of the collab at a recent party. It’s unclear whether this is a fresh creation or a vaulted banger, but I would guess it’s a leftover from the pair’s UTOPIA sessions given the vernacular Carti is rapping with.

SIGNS: Alien Corpses From Mexico Are On Display In The Courtroom Like A Museum

Just when we thought the United State’s Government Aliens saga couldn’t get any crazier, officials have decided to unveil corpses of extraterrestrials.

That’s right, the remains of two deceased aliens allegedly recovered in Cusco, Peru were displayed before Congress during an intense hearing in which a UFO expert was forced to testify. According to Jaime Maussan, the two mummified alien corpses he presented aren’t native to “our terrestrial evolution.” And apparently, nearly a third of their DNA remains “Unknown.”

To be honest, when I first saw the video of the alleged alien corpses online, I thought them s#### were old special FX stunt doubles from the original E.T. movie. Then I found out that Mr. Maussan, who testified under oath, has been associated with claims about aliens that have since been debunked.

At the same time, though, if the government has been in possession of alien corpses this entire time, maybe bro isn’t actually cappin’! I still don’t know, though—they trying to tell me these mummified alien corpses are more than 1,000-years-old. So you telling me folks was dwelling the hood we call Earth for the last 1,000 years? Ain’t not f###ing way boi (Duke Dennis voice)!

50 Cent Rep Denies He Tried Embarrassing Russell Wilson With Old Ciara Pictures

50 Cent’s representatives have addressed his recent fan-initiated photograph scandal regarding the rapper-turned-mogul, his album Curtis and former girlfriend Ciara.

In celebration of the 16th anniversary of the project’s debut, 50 Cent posted several images to his Instagram that included photos of the cover shoot featuring himself and another woman.

The caption read, “I dropped this album 16 years ago today, I had so much s### going on in the street. I was writing Curtis 187, I told @tonyyayo these fools crazy they think I’m scared.so we have a advantage, they stupid. LOL.”

At no point did he mention Ciara.

At the time of the album’s 2007 release, 50 Cent was dating Ciara. In fact, the two dated from 2007 to 2010. With this piece of trivia, social media created a dust-up— claiming he was disrespecting the woman’s current husband, Russell Wilson.

“Is that Ciara ???” one person wrote, with another saying, “Damn not Ciara. Wilson already took an L last night,” referencing his team loosing 30-13 against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday (September 10).

“Yo, that’s someone’s wife now Fif. Take these posts down! Lol!” one person wrote, while another said, “I know somebody said, hey Russ, you see what 50 pac did,50 a Savage fa this 1.”

Jackson’s rep, Amanda Ruisi, released a statement to TooFab as a way to clear up the public misconception, saying, “Two different models are featured on the Curtis album cover, neither of whom is Ciara.”

It appears the pair were all laughs and smiles while kicking back at some sort of restaurant together.

Sources close to Megan claim the entire moment was completely blown out of proportion considering there was no disagreement between Megan and Justin Timberlake whatsoever. Apparently, Timberlake reportedly told Megan “nice to meet you” to which she replied “No, this doesn’t count we have to do this the right way.”

Hip-Hop recording artist Earl Sweatshirt rarely does interviews. However, the Odd Future affiliate did speak publicly to promote his Voir Dire project with The Alchemist.

Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe caught up with Earl Sweatshirt. Their conversation covered a wide range of topics. At one point, Sweatshirt even discussed embracing sensitivity.

“I’m the most sensitive n#### that’s outside. I’m not going to lie to you. No, that’s what I was saying outside to them,” Earl Sweatshirt admitted. “I was like, what if I went in there with Zane Lowe and sat down and just started profusely crying right now. Serious.”

The 29-year-old, Los Angeles-area native also added, “I swear to God, ask them, I was like, if I just sat down, first question, dry open and profusely crying in 10 minutes. I knew I was sensitive.”

Plus, Earl Sweatshirt talked about attending the “most intensive therapeutic boarding school ever.” According to the rapper/producer, “a series of unfortunate events” eventually led him to re-discover his sensitive side.

Earl Sweatshirt’s Doris Album Turns 10 This Year

In addition to pushing his Voir Dire project, Earl Sweatshirt is also celebrating the ten-year anniversary of his debut studio LP, Doris. That album came out on August 20, 2013. Doris garnered widespread critical acclaim upon its release.

“It kind of just brought back, just everything from that time. And some of the ambiguity, that’s what I think really stuck out to me,” Earl Sweatshirt told Zane Lowe.

The man born Thebe Neruda Kgositsile continued, “I was 18. I was trying to figure it out. They were like, ‘You’re the big rapper, make an album.’ That’s why I think part of that album was a deliberate shot in the parachute, or in the foot.”

Sweatshirt also stated, “At the risk of sounding redundant, it’s like I’m really not even that n#### anymore. I’ve already done that. Me, by myself. I’ve loved on that person and everything. So some parts of it felt like karaoke.”

O.T. Genasis Joins The Cast Of “The Surreal Life”

The Surreal Life is coming back with a brand new cast. California-bred rapper O.T. Genasis will star in the latest version of the long-running reality show.

O.T. Genasis joins Macy Gray, Chet Hanks, Ally Brooke, Kim Zolciak, Johnny Weir and Josie Canseco for Season 8 of The Surreal Life. Production for new installments begins this month.

Previously, TSL aired on VH1 for five seasons after debuting on The WB in 2003. The upcoming batch of shows featuring O.T. Genasis and his castmates will air on VH1’s sister network MTV.

Season 7 of The Surreal Life made headlines last year. In particular, August Alsina became a trending topic on social media after the R&B singer seemingly revealed he is romantically attracted to other men.

“Love showed up, but in a new way,” said August Alsina on the program. “I want to share that and honor the person that I love and that loves me back and teaching me so much about love and healing.”

The Product III: State of Emergency album creator continued, “I want to do that in front of the world because it defies all the constructs that one would say love is supposed to be or love should look like.”

O.T. Genasis will step onto The Surreal Life platform that once featured other recording artists such as MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice, Flavor Flav, Da Brat, Sandy “Pepa” Denton, and Tamar Braxton.

Prior to going in front of the cameras for The Surreal Life, O.T. Genasis scored a Billboard Hot 100 hit with “CoCo” in 2014. He dropped several projects, including 2016’s Coke N Butter which came out via Atlantic Records.
