Boosie Badazz and Wack 100 argued over Kodak Black’s decision to collaborate with Tekashi 6ix9ine on Friday (July 28). Wack 100 defended Kodak Black by posting proof of the $1 million the 26-year-old rapper received for the feature.

Boosie responded in the comments of Wack 100’s post. The Baton Rouge native said the video proved his point that Kodak Black sacrificed morals for money.

“I never said he didn’t get paid lol that ain’t what this bout n u know @wack100 don’t act like i said yall was lying about the money,” Boosie wrote with laughing emojis. “u posting this does not help his situation at all it’s actually [worse]! NOW he only got paid 600 k n gotta pay 400k n taxes.”

Boosie believed Wack 100 picked the wrong side by defending Kodak Black. The veteran artist sought to speak with Wack 100 in private.

Kodak Black worked with 6ix9ine on a new song “Shaka Laka.” The two appeared together in the track’s music video.

Carlee Russell Smiling Mugshot Released After Being Arrested & Charged For Kidnapping Hoax

Carlee Russell, the 25-year-old Alabama nursing student who claimed she was kidnapped for 49 hours, a stunt she later confessed was a lie, was charged with two misdemeanors concerning the hoax, Hoover, Alabama police announced Friday (July 28). 

The arrest warrant was issued earlier today. Carlee Russell surrendered to authorities accompanied by her attorney at the Hoover City Jail to face two misdemeanor charges: false reporting to law enforcement authorities and falsely reporting an incident.

“Her decisions that night created panic and alarm for the citizens of our city and even across the nation as the concern grew about a kidnapper being on the loose using a small child as bait…as we know, actions can have consequences, and that’s why we’re here today,” Hoover Police Chief Nick Derzis said.

Russell’s initial disappearance on July 13, 2023, triggered a massive search operation after she reported seeing a toddler walking along the side of the interstate and intended to pull over to help. 

Her sudden reappearance three days later was as unexpected as her disappearance, and she was immediately taken to the hospital for evaluation.

However, the revelation of Russell’s deception has had far-reaching consequences. She has since been fired from her job at the Woodhouse Spa in Birmingham, Alabama. The spa’s owner, Stuart Rome, expressed his employees’ feelings of betrayal, stating it was devastating for them, thinking a coworker was abducted.

Russell’s former boyfriend, Thomar Latrell Simmons, revealed Russell’s actions also blindsided him, resulting in their split. In a statement posted on Instagram Monday night, July 24, Simmons says Carlee’s actions created hurt, confusion, and dishonesty.

The charges carried a bond of $1,000 each and are punishable by up to a year in jail and a $6,000 fine if convicted. Russell was released from jail after posting bond.

G Herbo Finds Out Sentencing Date After Officially Pleading Guilty In Fraud Case

G Herbo admitted to his role in a fraud scheme in a Massachusetts court on Friday (July 28). The Chicago-bred rapper pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and one count of making a false statement to a federal official.

Prosecutors dropped several counts of aggravated identity theft as part of a plea deal. G Herbo is scheduled to be sentenced on November 7.

G Herbo, whose real name is Herbert Wright, agreed to pay roughly $140,000 in restitution. He faces up to 20 years in prison for wire fraud and five years for making false statements.

“Mr. Wright used stolen account information as his very own unlimited funding source, using victims’ payment cards to finance an extravagant lifestyle and advance his career,” Massachusetts’ Acting U.S. Attorney Joshua Levy said. “Mr. Wright’s conduct affected countless businesses and individuals across the United States who had to foot his nearly $140,000 bill in unauthorized transactions.”

Levy added, “Mr. Wright flaunted his lavish spending on social media, in music videos and in industry news. This office and our law enforcement partners are committed to ensuring that individuals and businesses are protected against fraudsters. This case should serve as a reminder that if you break the law, you will be prosecuted and held accountable – regardless of who you are.”

G Herbo’s co-defendant Antonio Strong pleaded not guilty to fraud and identity theft charges. Strong awaits trial.

YNW Melly Learns Start Date For Retrial In Double Murder Case

YNW Melly must wait until the fall to defend himself against murder charges once again.

According to multiple reports, Florida prosecutors requested an October 2 start date for YNW Melly’s retrial. His defense team agreed to the date at a court hearing on Friday (July 28).

The double murder case’s first trial began in June. The jury was unable to reach a verdict after hearing weeks of testimony. Judge John Murphy declared a mistrial on July 22.

Prosecutors asked Judge Murphy to allow them to try the 24-year-old rapper alongside his co-defendant YNW Bortlen in the retrial. The defense objected since their client is facing the death penalty and YNW Bortlen is not.

Prior to the mistrial, YNW Bortlen’s trial was scheduled to start on October 2. Judge Murphy did not make a ruling on the prosecution’s request to try YNW Melly and YNW Bortlen together.

Prosecutors accuse YNW Melly of killing his friends YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser in 2018. YNW Bortlen allegedly helped stage a drive-by shooting to cover up the murders.

YNW Melly, whose real name is Jamell Demons, was arrested in 2019. He pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges. The Florida native remains in jail as he awaits his second trial.

Black Music Action Coalition Unveils Production Team For 2023 BMAC Gala

The Black Music Action Coalition enlisted the help of Jesse Collins Entertainment and Primary Wave Music to produce the organization’s third annual gala. The 2023 BMAC Gala, which is presented by Live Nation, will be held at the Beverly Hilton in California on September 21.

Jesse Collins and Dionne Harmon will serve as executive producers of the event. Kristin Meyers will be the showrunner with Primary Wave’s Donna Grecco returning as a producer for the third straight year.

“With the BMAC Gala now in its third year, we are proud to partner with Primary Wave and Jesse Collins Entertainment, who have produced some of the biggest cultural moments in entertainment history,” BMAC co-founder Willie “Prophet” Stiggers said. “We look forward to delivering a powerful tribute to those who paved the way for true representation and justice within our industry.”

The BMAC Gala honors artists, executives and others for making an impact on racial justice and social change. Past honorees include Lil Baby, The Weeknd and H.E.R.

Mayweather has somehow inserted himself into the news cycle within the 10-day timeline of the search warrant being served at the home of Keefe D, the uncle of the primary suspect in 2Pac’s fatal shooting, Orlando Anderson. Following the July 17 search, which turned up bullets and other items purportedly connected to the crime, claims the Champ witnessed the shooting started to bubble up.

How did Mayweather’s bombshell claim emerge one might ask? Why, no place other than TikTok (and to think the Biden administration is contemplating banning the app in the U.S. TUH)!

“The car pulled up and shot 2Pac,” Mayweather said while walking the streets of Las Vegas in the clip. “Car pulled right here and shot 2Pac at this light,” he added while pointing to the spot he witnessed the shooting. “Car went that way. I was living right here in 1996 when 2Pac got killed. Right here. I ain’t never told nobody.”

It goes without saying that nothing about 2Pac’s nearly 30-year unsolved murder mystery is funny. However, this clip of Mayweather is like watching Ezal from Ice Cube’s Friday film tell a story. Yo Gotti & Young Dolph’s Feud Revisited By Angry Fans Alleging Birthday Release Is Purposely Petty

Yo Gotti has fans of the late Young Dolph fuming—but was that his intention? The alleged pettiness began on July 26, the eve of Dolph’s birthday, when Gotti announced his upcoming DJ Drama-hosted Gangsta Grillz mixtape, I Showed You So.

Considering the tape drops on August 4, I can’t imagine a scenario in which Gotti and his CMG team wouldn’t attempt to release a lead single for the project at least a week ahead of its release. And again, as I’m rocking my critical thinking cap, July 27 is exactly a week from the date of release.

Could it be a pure coincidence that a deceased Dolph’s birthday is July 27? Possibly. It’s definitely unrelated to the first shot of the visual captures Gotti pulling up in a blacked-out Rolls-Royce in a black tuxedo like he’s headed to a funeral. Because here’s definitely not an entire white-on-white color scheme Gotti and his CMG label, formerly known as Cocaine Muzic Group, strictly follows.

Aside from some semi-blatant red flags and likely dangerous application of the Devil’s advocacy, this all appears to be an effective rollout for a surprise mixtape, right? Wrong, according to Young Dolph’s loyalist fanbase.

For now, it appears there aren’t any major shots thrown on the record—which is basically just a few minutes of Yo Gotti rapping about how he bagged Angela Simmons and doesn’t f### with anyone. It seems it’s the principle, though, as fans are certain releasing music on Young Dolph’s birthday is a sign of disrespect.

Lil Reese Reacts To Footage Of King Von Claiming To Be Gay

Many supporters of the late Dayvon “King Von” Bennett are in defense mode over the Chicago-bred rhymer. For example, fellow Chicago native Lil Reese justified Von asking for protective custody in jail because of his sexuality.

“They’re supposed to be Christian, but they got a problem with gay people,” King Von told an officer in the leaked body-cam video. When asked if his sexual orientation is the reason for his protective custody request, Von answered, “Yes.”

In the same clip, King Von appears to blow a kiss to another male inmate before saying, “I’m gonna f### you too.” Social media users began questioning the motive behind the “Crazy Story” rapper’s comments with some people suggesting it was a ploy to get away from his enemies in jail.

Lil Reese seems to believe King Von was joking when telling officers on camera that he is gay. Cam Capone News caught up with Reese to get his thoughts on the situation.

The main topic of discussion coming out of the House hearing centered around Retired Maj. David Grusch. He testified to Congress that the federal government has discovered “non-human” biologics from alleged UFO crash sites.

Offset and Cardi B joined forces again for their new single “Jealousy” which dropped today (July 28). While promoting the song during an Instagram Live session, the celebrity couple spoke about aliens and UFOs.

“Do you think that aliens exist? I don’t think they do,” Cardi told her husband. Offset responded, “I think that aliens exist. I think they’ve been hiding s### from a n#### this whole time. I’ve been seeing UFOs. It’s live footage of them m############ too now.”

One witness at the “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena: Implications on National Security, Public Safety, and Government Transparency” hearing stated sightings of UFOs, aka UAPs, in American air space are routine.

However, Cardi B remained skeptical about alien life forms visiting Earth. The Grammy winner questioned if ETs are capable of traveling to other planets, then why haven’t these super-intelligent beings dominated our world?

Vic Mensa Facing Lawsuit For Unpaid Rent, But He Says Landlord Put His Family In Danger

A property owner filed a lawsuit against Vic Mensa, claiming the Chicago-bred rapper owes money for rent and late fees.

According to TMZ, the unnamed landlord sued Mensa for $8,340. The plaintiff’s lawyer argued his client had to pay for real estate taxes, maintenance and other costs as Mensa occupied the apartment for free.

In response, Mensa’s team told the outlet that the property put The Autobiography artist’s loved ones in danger. Apparently, someone broke into the place earlier this year while his girlfriend was home alone.

Mensa believes the property owner did not provide adequate security measures which led to him moving out and no longer paying rent. The landlord insists security at the location increased following the incident.

In addition to being a Roc Nation-backed recording artist, Vic Mensa presents himself as an advocate for homeless citizens. He helped raise awareness for the issue in his hometown of Chicago by sleeping under the city’s viaducts.

Mensa has also had problems with the law. In January 2022, police arrested him at the Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia for possession of LSD, Psilocybin mushrooms, and other drugs.

As far as music, Mensa informed fans last October that he completed his sophomore studio LP. He stated at the time, “I’m just waiting on a couple of feature verses and tweaking the mixes, but the creation of the album is complete.” 

NLE Choppa Recreates Nelly’s “Hot In Herre” For “It’s Getting Hot” Music Video

Back in 2002, Nelly dropped his chart-topping “Hot in Herre” single. Fast forward two decades later, NLE Choppa channeled the energy of “Hot in Herre” for his “It’s Getting Hot” single.

The production and chorus for “It’s Getting Hot” directly borrow from the original “Hot in Herre” track. For the new song’s official music video, NLE Choppa wore a band-aid under his eye à la Nelly’s signature look.

“It’s Getting Hot” arrives after Choppa released the Cottonwood 2 album in April. That project includes records such as “Champions,” “S### Me Out” featuring Sexyy Red,” and “Ain’t Gonna Answer” with Lil Wayne.

In addition, NLE Choppa contributed to “Angel Pt. 1” off Fast X (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack). Kodak Black, Jimin of BTS, JVKE, and Muni Long appear on that collaboration as well.

“S### Me Out” and “Angel, Pt. 1” as well as “Do It Again” featuring 2Rare made it onto the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2023. NLE Choppa also took on acting this year as a guest on Freeform’s college-themed sitcom Grown-ish.

Snoop Dogg Donates $10,000 To 93-Year-Old Faced With Losing Her Land: “She Reminds Me Of My Mother & Grandmother”

Snoop Dogg was touched by the plight of a 93-year-old Josephine Wright’s battle for the land that has belonged to her husband’s family since the Civil War. 

The great-grandmother is in a legal dispute with developers over a parcel of land on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. However, a number of celebrities are coming to the aid of the elderly lady, including Snoop Dogg, who felt a personal connection to Josephine Wright. 

He reached out and donated $10,000 to Wright’s GoFundMe campaign through his record label, Death Row Records. “I did it from the heart,” Snoop Dogg told CNN in a statement. “She reminds me of my mother and grandmother.” 

Last month, Tyler Perry shared a news report on Instagram detailing Wright’s battle for her land. The film and television mogul quoted the nonagenarian and offered his help and support. 

“’I’ve pretty much been a fighter all my life’ said 93 year old Josephine Wright. Well, that makes two of us,” Perry penned in the caption. “Ms. Wright, please tell where to show up and what you need to help you fight.”

Additionally, Kyrie Irving has also made a major contribution to the cause. In June, the Dallas Mavericks star donated $40,000 to the GoFundMe campaign, becoming the top contributor. 

Snoop Dogg’s donation boosted Josephine Wright’s fundraiser, which received $279,367 of the $350,000 target.  

Wright’s granddaughter launched the GFM to help pay for legal expenses.  

Developers filed a lawsuit against Wright in February. They claimed that her satellite dish, shed, and screened-in porch impede the construction of their new housing development on Hilton Head Island. 

Wright countersued, accusing developers of a “constant barrage of tactics of intimidation, harassment, trespass, to include this litigation in an effort to force her to sell her property.” 

Drake Resurrects Beef With Pusha T, Drags In Pharrell Williams On Travis Scott’s “Meltdown”

Drake appeared to take a shot as his old nemesis Pusha T on his “Meltdown” verse featured on Travis Scott’s freshly released Utopia album. 

The OVO founder begins his verse by announcing, ”Tensions is definitely rising/T’d up right now,” adding that it’s “teatime.” He then talks about hearing some “embarrassing” music from his peers before declaring an unidentified adversary is “scared of the 6.” 

While it’s unclear who Drake is talking about in his opening bars, his shots later down are far less subtle. He mentions the former Louis Vuitton creative director Virgil Abloh, noting everybody has “hung up” their LV clothing since his death. He also references Abloh’s successor, Pharrell Williams, while taking a shot at Pusha T.  

“I melt down the chains that I bought from yo’ boss/Give a f### about all of that heritage s###,” Drake rapped. “Since V not around, the members done hung up the Louis/They not even wearing that s###.”

Drake also seemingly refers to William’s debut LV Paris Fashion Week show last month. Pusha T debuted a new Clipse song at the event, taking shots a Jim Jones. The “Rich Flex” hitmaker suggested he would have been there if it weren’t for his Vogue lawsuit.

Pusha T and his brother, No Malice, began their rap career as the duo Clipse, under fellow Virginia Beach native Pharrell Williams’s label, dropping a trio of studio albums with Star Trak Entertainment. Williams would go on to produce for the group and Pusha T as a solo artist throughout his career. 

Williams was an instrumental force in creating Pusha T’s latest album, 2022’s It’s Almost Dry. He produced most of the tracks and dished out some valuable advice.  

“[Pharrell] said the evolution of me is being more of a character,” Pusha explained during an interview with NME in May 2022. “He doesn’t like me rapping. He tells me all the time: ‘You can do that verse in your sleep. You have to give me the character, that matter-of-fact evil guy.’” 

Earlier this year, Drake unveiled several of Pharrell Williams’ iconic Jacob & Co. pieces in his “Jumbotron Sh*t Poppin” video. Among them, Skateboard P’s 14K three-tone N.E.R.D Pendant Chain, White Gold Brain Pendant Chain and his iconic Skateboard Pendant Chain, all of which had been recently sold at auction. 

It appears from the “Meltdown” lyrics that Drake will be melting down his Pharrell collection. However, he will likely be hanging on to Tupac’s iconic crown ring that he recently unveiled on his Instagram Story. Earlier this week, Sotheby’s announced an unnamed buyer purchased the piece for $1.02 million. 

“I pull out a million and stare at the s###,” Drake brags on the track.

Travis Scott has finally dropped Utopia, his fourth solo album and first since 2018’s chart-topping Astroworld. The set arrives three years after Scott initially teased the project and comes with five separate album covers. 

Although the “Sicko Mode” hitmaker unveiled the tracklist shortly before the official release, he withheld the features, leaving fans to discover the star-studded additions once Utopia dropped.

Once the 19-track project arrived on streaming platforms, fans flooded social media with their reactions. Travis Scott and his featured artists swiftly took over the Top 20 in the United States, with the rapper trending at the top spot. His featured artists and song titles filled most of the remaining slots.  

Beyoncé fans went crazy to see the chanteuse featured on “Delresto (Echoes)” alongside James Blake. Another popular inclusion was the SZA feature “Telekinesis,” which left many fans dumbfounded when they realized the song is a reworking of Kanye West’s “Future Sounds.” Ye’s track was first leaked in 2020 and was slated to appear on DONDA featuring Travis Scott before it ended up on Utopia, minus West.  

Utopia’s stacked feature list also includes verses and/or writing contributions from Drake, The Weeknd, Young Thug, Playboi Carti, Kid Cudi, 21 Savage, Westside Gunn, Bad Bunny, Bon Iver, Sampha and many more.

Drake Posts 2Pac’s $1 Million Crown Ring, The Rare Piece Just Sold At Auction

​​Drake’s already extensive jewelry collection, which includes some rare and exclusive pieces, just got even more unique after the rapper seemingly purchased a piece branded the most valuable Hip-Hop artifact ever sold at auction. 

On Tuesday (July 25), Sotheby’s announced Tupac Shakur’s yellow gold crown piece had sold for a record-breaking $1.02 million. 

The ring was designed by ‘Pac himself and is encrusted with 10 carats of cabochon rubies and nearly five carats of diamonds. It also bears the inscription “Pac & Dada 1996″ in honor of the rapper’s engagement to Kidada Jones, daughter of Quincy Jones.   

Although the auction house didn’t name the wealthy buyer, it’s now in the possession of one of rap’s biggest stars. On Thursday (July 27), Drake took to his Instagram Story to promote his new song with Travis Scott, “Meltdown,” from the newly released Utopia album. 

However, all eyes were on the extravagant ring Drake shared in the image, 2Pac’s one-of-a-kind crown ring.

In December 2022, Drake debuted his bespoke Previous Engagements diamond chain, which features a massive rock for each of the exes Drizzy considered popping the question to. The piece reportedly has 351.38 carats worth of diamonds. 

Floyd Mayweather Denies Witnessing 2Pac Murder; Clears Up Confusion Over Rumor

Floyd Mayweather Jr. insisted he did not see Tupac Shakur’s murder after a rumor spread about him being a witness. The undefeated boxer addressed the rumor in an Instagram post on Thursday (July 27).

A clip of Floyd Mayweather showing director John Singleton where Tupac got shot in Las Vegas resurfaced on social media this week. Mayweather said he lived in the area where the 1996 shooting happened in the video.

The boxer did not explicitly say anything about witnessing the shooting, but Mayweather mentioned he “never told” anybody. The way he worded it made various social media accounts and websites assume he was saying he witnessed the shooting. The clip gained traction online, prompting Mayweather to clarify himself.

“In 1996 when Tupac Shakur was killed, I lived in the Meridian Apartments located on Flamingo and Koval Ln., which just so happens to be the area where Tupac was shot,” Mayweather wrote on Instagram. “I have never said I witnessed the shooting.”

He continued, “All of these false accusations stem from me sharing the location of the shooting with John Singleton due to my familiarity of the area since I lived there. This does not mean I witnessed Tupac’s shooting. John Singleton was making a documentary or movie about Tupac, so he reached out to me asking where Flamingo and Koval Ln was located.”

Mayweather noted the location of the shooting was public knowledge. He emphasized it was “just a coincidence” he was living in the same area in 1996.

“I did not witness Tupac Shakur’s death,” he declared.

Tupac died a few days after the 1996 shooting in Las Vegas. More than 25 years after the murder, police reopened the investigation into his death. Cops conducted a search of a Nevada home as part of the investigation on July 17.

Chrisean Rock Bashes “Ungrateful” Blueface Over Sneak Diss; He Reacts

Chrisean Rock and Blueface’s bitter relationship played out in the public eye again on Thursday (July 27). The former couple’s latest dispute began when Blueface took subliminal jabs at his ex on Twitter.

“Life is so much better now my b#### listen fr,” he wrote on Thursday morning. “House clean laundry done breakfast ready this more my speed fr.”

Chrisean Rock responded hours later. She criticized Blueface, accusing him of lying to her about money.

“What’s more my speed is putting my own money in my own bank account instead of a ungrateful b#### n#### account telling me everyday I don’t have money wen I make money,” she wrote. “I stopped listening to a manipulator and stopped making excuses for him n started choosing Chrisean.”

Chrisean Rock said Blueface used her for clout. She also removed any subtlety by mentioning his real name.

“When u tweet about me let’s go head up stop including m########## for clout,” she wrote. “I’m talking to Johnathan Porter.”

Blueface tried to act like he had no idea why Chrisean Rock was attacking him.

“Idk y I’m being tweeted about all of a sudden,” he wrote.

He added, “Just relax focus on yourself keep getting yo money have yo baby. You blessed you don’t owe nobody none what’s the matter now?”

Chrisean Rock is pregnant with Blueface’s child. The two co-star in the Zeus reality series Blueface & Chrisean: Crazy In Love.

Quavo Still Feels Takeoff’s Presence And Channels Grief Into Artistry

Quavo discussed how he’s coping with Takeoff’s death in a sit-down interview published on his YouTube channel on Thursday (July 27). The Migos member shared the video a week before the release of his new album Rocket Power.

The video, titled “A Conversation for the Fans,” featured Quavo answering a variety of questions about Takeoff. The 32-year-old rapper revealed he cries sometimes over his nephew’s death, but he often finds himself smiling because he feels Takeoff’s presence.

“I hear him,” Quavo said. “I always smile ‘cause that’s stuff that we talked about. We always talked about that … We always talked bout energy … So, when stuff like good spirit stuff [happens], I feel him. I know he’s here. I know he’s around.”

Quavo isolated himself as he grieved over the loss of Takeoff. He became wary of other people’s intentions yet found solace in the studio.

“Right now, I’m just bottled up,” Quavo said. “And I feel like it’s just rocket power. With a rocket, you just hold all the energy, hold all the tears, hold all the emotion in one spot. Let it all come out in a space of artistry or something where you want to express yourself.”

Quavo’s Rocket Power album is scheduled to drop on August 4. Quavo confirmed the project will feature Takeoff, who left behind hundreds of unreleased songs.

Takeoff was shot and killed in Houston in November 2022. He was 28.

Quando Rondo Avoids Return To Jail But Judge Imposes New Restrictions On Rapper

A Georgia judge rejected a motion to revoke Quando Rondo’s bond in a drug and gang case on Thursday (July 27).

Prosecutors wanted Quando Rondo sent back to jail over a car accident in Savannah, Georgia. He was taken to a hospital after crashing his car into another vehicle on July 19.

Quando Rondo, whose real name is Tyquian Terrel Bowman, allegedly displayed signs of an overdose at the scene of the crash. Emergency responders administered Narcan, which treats opioid overdoses.

Prosecutors claimed the 24-year-old rapper was high on Benzodiazepines at the time of the car wreck. They asked Judge Tammy Stokes to revoke his bond or put an ankle monitor on him.

Judge Stokes denied the prosecution’s request, allowing Quando Rondo to remain out of jail. But the judge ordered him to hire a driver and take drug tests as part of his pre-trial release.

“You are a young man with a career in front of you,” Judge Stokes told him, per WJCL. “All sorts of opportunities. But the bottom line is that it’s all on you if you whether or not you fulfill the dreams that you have.”

Quando Rondo was arrested on drug and gang-related charges in June. He was released on a $100,000 bond.
