EXCLUSIVE: Tekashi 6ix9ine To Pay Thousands Of Dollars To Robbery Victims

A judge determined how much Tekashi 6ix9ine must pay to two robbery victims, who won a default judgment against the controversial rapper.

According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, U.S. Magistrate Judge Jennifer E. Willis recommended Seketha Wonzer and Kevin Dozier each receive at least $30,000 in damages. Wonzer and Dozier sued 6ix9ine for his involvement in a 2018 robbery perpetrated by Nine Trey Gangster Bloods members.

“This Court respectfully recommends the following: Wonzer is awarded $15,000 in compensatory damages without leave to amend for her Medicare lien and $15,000 in punitive damages; and Dozier is awarded $30,000 in compensatory damages without leave to amend for his Medicaid lien, $30,000 in punitive damages, and $7,500 in treble damages under RICO,” Judge Willis wrote.

Wonzer and Dozier were seeking more money in damages, citing mental health issues and injuries. But Judge Willis found a lack of evidence to award a bigger sum. She also noted 6ix9ine’s role in the robbery wasn’t as significant as the plaintiffs claimed.

“[6ix9ine] pled guilty to committing the robbery, which both Plaintiffs allege caused them mental harm and Dozier alleges also caused economic harm,” Judge Willis wrote. “Robbing Plaintiffs certainly evinced an indifference or reckless disregard to Plaintiffs’ health and safety and resulted from more than a mere accident. However, the robbery was an isolated incident as to Plaintiffs in which Defendant was not physically involved.”

The judge continued, “There is also no evidence in the record to support Plaintiffs’ claim that ‘Defendant caused Plaintiffs to be violently robbed at gunpoint by dangerous gang members.’ Defendant was outside the building where the robbery took place in a car videotaping the incident. The record does not indicate Defendant uploaded the video of the robbery to social media, and there is no evidence Defendant took the items seized during the robbery for himself.”

6ix9ine and the plaintiffs have 14 days to file objections to the judge’s recommendation. Wonzer and Dozier get 30 days to file a motion for attorneys’ fees once the order for damages is entered.

Rapper T.I. Donates 200 Moolah Tablets To Morris Brown Students.

As students prepare to return to school, some may need a little more assistance than others.

That’s where rapper T.I. steps in, sharing his generosity with a cluster of HBCU students looking to start the academic year off on the right foot.

The “Grand Hustle” chart-topper and Atlanta native gave away 200 Moolah tablets to students at Morris Brown College, the first class to enter the school since it has been accredited.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, partnered with Moolah Wireless to give free tablets and 12 months of data service to Morris Brown students as a way to celebrate the restoration of the institution.

Morris Brown, a valued institution in the Atlanta University Center consortium, was founded in 1881 but had been struggling to maintain accreditation for two decades.

It was riddled with a recent history of financial scandal and mismanagement, resulting in the school losing access to its utilities and a student body of under 60 people.

But now, it is revived and ready to achieve its most incredible legacy yet. Morris Brown College President Dr. Kevin James stated about the gift, “Technology is everything.”

“Some of our young people have what they need, and some of them don’t,” he continued. “So, we wanted to be able to offer them an opportunity to have the technology they’re going to need to be successful.”

Reports say students wrapped around the building waiting to receive a semester must-have. They received a little more, according to CBS 46

Some took souvenir pictures, and others were blessed with words of wisdom, something the “expeditiously” podcaster is always willing to share.

T.I. said, “What we hope that we do is motivate the students to take their education seriously. Let them know that there are people like us who are here to celebrate them and assist them on their journey so they can get through their lives a little more effortlessly. Struggle may come, but when you work hard, help will come too.”

The charity did not stop there but extended to people in the community.

As a community stakeholder, Moolah Wireless is now offering free tablets to anyone eligible for the program that caters to veterans, senior citizens, Section 8 residents, and others.

Juice WRLD’s Mom Has Bought The Most Expensive House In Burr Ridge, IL

Juice WRLD’s mother has purchased an $8.3 million estate in Burr Ridge, Illinois.

According to Crain’s Chicago Business, Carmela Wallace not only bought a house, but also the vacant land next door to the residence.

The purchase set the record as the most expensive property ever to be purchased in the history of the small town

The properties are located on Lee Court.

The house, the report states, was sold for $6.9 million and the adjacent land went for $1.4 million.

Construction on the 17,100 square foot home was completed in 2016. The finished product includes six bedrooms and 6 ½ bathrooms.

As reported by AllHipHop.com, Juice WRLD transitioned in 2019 after having a seizure related to a drug overdose. He was only 21 years old at the time of his death, leaving his fans with a catalog of music detailing his struggles with narcotics.

After his death, his mother started businesses to keep his legacy going, including starting the Homewood Brewing Company with her business partner Robert Lauderdale.

“I’m from Homewood. Homewood is special to me,” Juice WRLD’s mom said. “(The brewery is) my way to pay tribute to (my son) as well. I was so happy to have the opportunity to come back to Homewood and serve the community.”

AllHipHop also reported earlier this year that Juice WRLD dropped a new song, called “Go Hard 2.0.”

According to reports, Juice WRLD left behind an estate worth almost $4 million at the time of his passing.

His third, posthumous album Legends Never Die was released in July of 2020 and debuted at # 1 on the Billboard 200.

Kanye West Blasts Critics Of His Gap ‘Trash Bag’ Display … Says It Reminds Him Of Stores In The DR Where People Shop From Bins

Everyone has been talking about the Yeezy Gap “Trash Bag” display with some calling the concept “basura.”

The rapper’s critics specifically believe Ye is mocking the homeless population with the campaign while claiming he is insensitive.

Now Kanye, who can credit his $6 billion net worth to his deal with the retail brand, is upset at the backlash.

In an interview from the Times Square Gap location, he said on FOX News, “I’m an innovator, and I’m not here to sit up and apologize for my ideas. That’s exactly what the media tries to do: make us apologize for any idea that doesn’t fall under exactly the way they want us to think.”

He also corrected people who called the display “trash bags,” saying they were large construction bags.

Ye addressed the idea people thought he was mocking the unsheltered saying, “I’m up here literally working on homeless shelters. There’s documentation of it where the city came and tore down my creations while I was doing it.”

West said, “So no one can tell me I’m insensitive when that stuff that I think about every single day and actually have put my mind and innovation to.”

“The whole point of why I came to The Gap was to make egalitarian clothing,” West said. “I remember times being in the [Dominican Republic], going to a store and seeing clothes in bins and just seeing people be happy to have a moment of discovery, to think like children.”

“This is not a joke, this is not a game, this is not just a celebrity collaboration … this is my life,” he continued. “I’m fighting for a position to be able to change clothing and bring the best design to the people.”

Video Release Shows Rapper Stitches Apparently Inebriated After Cocaine Bust

Rapper Stitches was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 3rd and police released bodycam showing the ordeal, shedding light on what happened leading up to the 27-year-old’s detainment.

Apparently, Stitches, whose real name is Phillip Katsabanis, was intoxicated and was arrested by the Bay Harbor Islands Police on charges of felony cocaine possession and misdemeanor discharge of a firearm.

In the video, Stitches is telling the officers he was the one that called them after the thought he saw four people in his place that should not have been there.

“I don’t have a problem with nobody, bro,” Stitches said.

“It’s expensive equipment, you know. So I prepared my head expecting that because it’s happened to other studios,” the rapper, who seemed to be drunk, said. “And the ones that I actually (unintelligible) because we didn’t have our kids today, so I wanted to watch movies or whatever. Just bought a house yesterday.”

“What is it, you bought a house yesterday?” the officer answers.

The “I Need Rehab” artist responded, “Yeah, Naples bro.”

“Honestly really scared because, bro, I’m outnumbered,” Stitches continued. “There’s no fight, you know. I don’t have problems with nobody, officer.”

The cop on the bodycam says, “I don’t have any indication or anything. Luckily, it looks like nobody got hurt. You guys are okay, you know.”

Stitches then asks if he was permitted to defend his own business, and the officer told him, “Of course, your business, your home, yourself.”

But nothing was found … except the cocaine, the drug which seems to always be in his songs and the reason why he was taken into custody.

Stitches has since been released from jail.

R. Kelly – A New Dad Or Not?

R. Kelly could be a new father! We have been much to do about it his life and times recently. However, it appears that he may just have another baby on the way. Joycelyn savage is now saying that the rapper S##### is pregnant with her baby. She claims to be five months pregnant and is assuring the public that it is in fact his baby.

Also Read: Jurors To See Videos Of R. Kelly Having Intercourse With A Kid

How could that be, as you all know R. Kelly has been incarcerated for quite some time for a myriad of infractions related to the abuse of young girls and women. He is in the midst of going through another trial, which may secure his incarceration for the rest of his life.

I am not certain why anyone would want a baby with such an individual, but that is not for me to understand. Now, this is the same woman that charges she was peed on, beat up and forced to call R. Kelly master, among many other terrible things. So, what would make her want to have a baby with that beast of a man, as she has strongly stated.

Joycelyn Savage is basically stating that they decided to do in vitro fertilization in order for her to have a baby. Attorneys for R. Kelly are rejecting the assertion that she is pregnant by the singer. But she swears she is five months deep, even though the malign singer has been Behind bars for a year or so. She promises she was artificially inseminated and will even take a DNA test to prove that he is the father. She has also revealed that they will be having a baby girl in the event that she has, in fact, his baby. According to Entertainment Tonight, they are engaged to be married.

She recently did an interview and spilled her beans.

“Once his lawyer did find out, she wanted me to have an abortion because she didn’t feel that now was the time for me to have a child following the 30-year sentence. Me and Robert wanted to have a child for a long time. He is very happy about it, his lawyer isn’t. Once I told her I was keeping my baby, she didn’t want me to announce but I wanted to share the news. I’ve always been there for him even before this new lawyer came into the picture.” – Savage says

What do you think, eh?

By the way, there is a strong, but insane contingency of folks that are screaming “Free R. Kelly” on Twitter. See, this is the dark side of Black Twitter yall.

Juelz Santana Talks Nearly Creating A Joint Project With Jeezy

Were Dipset member Juelz Santana and former Boyz n da Hood member Jeezy preparing to join forces for a full-length project? According to Santana, the answer is yes.

Julez Santana recently took part in an interview with the Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson podcast. The New Yorker spoke about how Jeezy’s meteoric rise in the music business prevented the collaboration from coming to fruition.

“Me and Jeezy were actually supposed to do a project together called Best of Both Hoods,” said Juelz Santana. “Jeezy took off and he got real big… Basically, the mixtape didn’t happen. Me and Jeezy did about four records then he kinda got real big. We didn’t do the mixtape.”

While Juelz Santana was not able to create a mixtape with Jeezy, the ex-Def Jam artist did put out projects with his Diplomats comrades. The Hip Hop group’s Gold-certified Diplomatic Immunity dropped in 2002, followed by Diplomatic Immunity 2 the next year.

Santana Says Nixed Tape With Jeezy Led To Tour With Lil Wayne

Juelz Santana also released 2003’s From Me to U studio album as a soloist. What the Game’s Been Missing! arrived two years later. The Recording Industry Association of America certified the latter LP as Gold in 2006.

Apparently, the fabled I Can’t Feel My Face mixtape by Juelz Santana and Lil Wayne was the result of the shelved collaborative project with Jeezy. Santana also explained to Mike Tyson how Weezy reached out to him about possibly working on music.

“Wayne called me up and said, ‘Yo, what’s up with the tape you supposed to be doing with Jeezy?’ I said, ‘I don’t know. Jeezy’s moving, he’s doing a lot of things right now,’” stated Santana. “[Lil Wayne] said, ‘Man, wassup? If you wanna do it, let’s do the tape. Let’s do the tape together, me and you.’ From there, it just so happens the next month, we wind up going on tour together.”

Steve Lacy Explains Matching Tattoo With Kanye West & Lil Uzi Vert

On August 10, Steve Lacy uploaded a photo of himself along with Hip Hop stars Kanye “Ye” West and Lil Uzi Vert to his Instagram page. The viral image appeared to show the three recording artists with the same arm tattoo.

Steve Lacy simply captioned the Instagram post, “We here forever technically.” More than 1.2 million IG users liked the picture on the social media platform. It also made entertainment news headlines around the world.

A representative for TMZ asked Steve Lacy about the body art while inside LAX airport. The cameraperson wanted to know the philosophical meaning behind the inkwork that also reportedly reads, “We here forever technically.”

“We’re artists. We never die,” offered Steve Lacey as an explanation for the matching tattoos. When questioned about possibly collaborating with Kanye West on upcoming music, Lacey replied, “Always, man… Always. He never stops. Yeah, always.”

Steve Lacey later squashed the idea that he is linking up with Kanye West to create a full collaborative project. According to the songwriter/guitarist/producer, the two musicians are just friends for now.

While music fans will not get a Steve Lacey/Kanye West joint effort any time soon, many listeners are enjoying Lacey’s 2022 album Gemini Rights. That project hosts the “Bad Habit” single which peaked at #6 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart.

The official “Bad Habit” music video has amassed more than 11 million views on YouTube. It is currently trending in the Top 25 in the platform’s music section. Steve Lacey’s track also collected over 115 million streams on Spotify.

Prior to Gemini Rights coming out in July of this year, Steve Lacey dropped the Grammy-nominated Apollo XXI album in 2019. The 24-year-old Compton native also contributed to The Internet’s Ego Death which earned Lacey his first Grammy nomination in 2016.

DJ Akademiks Compares Angela Yee Leaving ‘The Breakfast Club’ To Migos Breakup

Veteran radio host Angela Yee announced she will no longer be part of The Breakfast Club radio show in the near future. The news shocked the Hip Hop media world.

The Breakfast Club as you know it is officially over,” tweeted Angela Yee on August 9. The next morning Yee confirmed she will leave the program to start another solo radio show.

Fellow media personality DJ Akademiks spoke about the shakeup at The Breakfast Club. The Off The Record podcaster compared Yee’s departure to a potential breakup of Atlanta rap group Migos.

“I think the announcement was kinda weird. I listened to their explanation. They said it was to figure out who was against them but it didn’t feel like everybody was on the same page. It felt like one person leaving the band, but kinda not wanting the band to continue,” Akademiks told VladTV.

Ak continued, “Imagine if Offset left the Migos and said, ‘The Migos are done.’ No, Quavo’s still rocking. You’re just leaving. Now granted that’s a whole different story where the Migos are kind of just seen as them, same with The Breakfast Club. I just think radio is different now.”

DJ Akademiks’s analogy came after rumors of Migos actually separating have spread across the internet. In July, Quavo and Takeoff released “Us Vs Them” without Offset, and the National Battle Of The Bands only promoted the duo for an upcoming event. Plus, Offset plans to drop a new solo song titled “54321” on August 19.

As far as The Breakfast Club, Angela Yee has not confirmed the start date for her Way Up with Angela Yee show. DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God will likely stay at Power 105.1 to continue hosting The Breakfast Club. The long-running syndicated morning show premiered in 2010.

Styles P Calls For ‘Verzuz’ Boycott After Swizz Beatz & Timbaland Sue Triller

Over a year ago, The Lox faceoff against Dipset at a Verzuz event in New York City. The Lox member Styles P now wants fans to stop watching the hit-for-hit series as a form of protest.

The Triller streaming platform purchased Verzuz in March 2021. This week, Verzuz founders Swizz Beatz and Timbaland reportedly filed a $28 million lawsuit against Triller for missing payments beginning in January 2022.

TMZ caught up with Styles P to ask him about the status of Verzuz. The A Gangster and a Gentleman album creator essentially suggested Hip Hop fans should boycott the music-based webcast on behalf of Swizz Beatz and Timbaland.

“It would be good if Triller, Swizz, and Tim could rock out, figure [out] a way to fix it. Hip Hop has always had a lot of funny s### in it, so I think people should try to stick with what they said they were going to do from the beginning. You shake somebody’s hand, sign a paper, say you’re going to do a deal, and the deal’s right, then there shouldn’t be any problems,” said Styles P.

The 47-year-old emcee added, “Hip Hop people shouldn’t f### with [Verzuz] if Swizz and Tim [aren’t] involved. I sure wouldn’t. I wouldn’t watch it at all.” Styles P also talked about how both sides should do good business.

Since its debut in March 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, Verzuz has presented numerous head-to-head battles featuring R&B and Hip Hop stars. Erykah Badu vs Jill Scott, Brandy vs Monica, Jeezy vs Gucci Mane, Ashanti vs Keyshia Cole, Bow Wow vs Soulja Boy, and The Lox vs Dipset were among the most-viewed Verzuz events.

Omarion vs Mario headlined Verzuz‘s “A Night Of R&B” on June 23, 2022. Many viewers and pundits panned the DeRay Davis-hosted show in California which also featured Bobby V & Ray J vs Sammie & Pleasure P.

Meek Mill Calls Out Corporate People In The Music Industry

Robert “Meek Mill” Williams claims he is now an independent artist. After publicly blasting Atlantic Records, the Philadelphia-raised rapper left Jay-Z’s Roc Nation management company as well.

Yesterday, Meek Mill took to Twitter to share his thoughts about the direction of his career. He also took aim at unnamed people in the music industry who doubted his future success.

“If [you’re] a corporate person that [works] in the music business and ever predicted Meek is over… I wanna place a [$10 million] bet with you in contract… Label owners, A&Rs, CEOs, COOs, [artists]… I’m just finding out y’all was talking like that… y’all said I was over at least 5 times,” tweeted Meek.

He also added, “And ima do it from [the] independent side, no major vibes to make effortless… This is not a joke, this [is] for people that fake call the shots in this music industry… They really be washed and try to place [their] limits on you and want you to believe it’s neverrrrrr!”

Earlier this month, Meek Mill announced his signing with the William Morris Endeavor talent agency. WME will partner with Meek’s Culture Currency to oversee the emcee’s progress in all areas.

“As an entertainer, I see us as part of the first generation that truly has influence and connections spread throughout social justice, music, sports, the movie industry, politics, business, and the tech world,’ stated Meek Mil.

The Expensive Pain album creator continued, “Taking advantage of this opportunity will allow us to give others the same chance to catch their dreams. Thank you WME for opening the door to build this bridge.”

U.K. Rapper Beef: Dutchavelli Claims Tion Wayne Jumped Him In Dubai

Tion Wayne allegedly got into a physical altercation with fellow U.K. rapper Dutchavelli while in Dubai, where he was scheduled to perform.

Videos of the aftermath of the fight flooded social media, with many fans suggesting Tion beat up Dutch. One video shows Dutchavelli immediately after the incident, bleeding from the mouth. Check out the footage below.

While it is unclear what led to the fight, Tion Wayne and Dutchavelli are previous collaborators. “I Dunno,” their 2020 song with Stormzy, currently sits at over 54 million YouTube views.

While the North London rapper is not immediately identifiable from the video, Dutchavelli confirmed the altercation.

Dutchavelli Claims Tion Wayne Jumped Him

He took to Instagram to share his version of events, claiming Tion Wayne and five others jumped him.

“These n##### are p###### bro. I was there for like ten minutes trying to scrap you n#####. You lot was not on nothing just backing up.” Dutchavelli then challenged Tion Wayne to post the whole video claiming it backs up his story.

“There was six of you against one. I was the only man that was scrapping with you,” the Dutch-born brother of Stefflon Don added. “You man are not on nothing,” he said. He then claimed Tion’s friend, fellow rapper Turner was too scared to get involved and only filmed the altercation.

However, Tuner denies Dutchavellion’s claims that Tion Wayne and others jumped him.

https://youtu.be/OhzRMzFlUY8

“When I came outside, Tion Wayne was by himself and your mouth was already bust,” he claimed. “Man are arguing the pedophiles,” he said in reference to the allegations against Dutchavelli that he had inappropriate online conversations with an underage girl. The reports surfaced last year, but Dutch strenuously denies the allegations, claiming the police were involved yet did not arrest him.

It’s not the first time Tion Wayne has found himself in an altercation while traveling to Dubai. In 2020 he got into it with another U.K. rapper, Headie One, while on a flight back from the city.

Hitmaka Claims “Music Made Me Want To Go Sell Crack”

Hitmaka has opened up about how the music he listened to as a youth affected him, revealing that he was influenced to sell drugs by the songs he was consuming at the time.

Hip-Hop is often criticized for its at times gritty portrayal of life in inner-city working-class neighborhoods, with some detractors going as far as to say the genre glorifies violence and a criminal lifestyle.

The subject came up during a recent episode of Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion podcast, featuring Hitmaka. According to the rapper-turned producer/songwriter, who is also the current Vice President of A&R at indie giant EMPIRE, the music of his youth had a profound effect on him.

“Music made me want to go sell crack, n####,” Hitmaka admitted during the interview. “And sell drugs because I was so influenced by the music.” He explained that the music of that “golden era” of the late 90s and early 2000s all had a similar feel. “The music that I grew up on, it was like if you wasn’t selling crack, you wasn’t on s###,” he added.

However, Hitmaka said though he feels “bad” about the reality of it, “I’m a reflection of that s### too.” He continued and added that hearing lyrics about life in the streets “kinda poisons you.”

Hitmaka continued, “Y’all cant tell me that when Jeezy was in his heyday – every dope boy wanted to get the car and make a play to some Young Jeezy. Even if it was a dime bag to a brick, you felt like you was moving like that,” he said. Check out his comments below.

Diddy & Mary J. Blige Discuss The State Of R&B: “They Was Trying To Kill It”

Diddy began a lively social media debate when he took to social media to discuss the state of R&B. Many fans have claimed the genre is not what it used to be and is in a state of decline since its heyday decades ago.

The music mogul received varying responses when he asked: “Who killed R&B?” on Twitter. Diddy then attempted to get a definition of the genre from his followers before announcing Mary J. Blige would be joining him on Instagram Live to discuss the topic.

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul swiftly knocked down any suggestion that anybody could kill off R&B.

“You can’t kill something that’s in our DNA,” Mary explained to Diddy during the discussion. “It’s gonna keep transitioning from generation to generation to generation to generation. They was trying to kill it.”

She then prefaced her next point by thanking the radio stations who genuinely support the genre before discussing how they contributed to the decline.

“Before I say what I’m gonna say, let me just say this: I wanna thank all the radio stations around the country that are playing R&B music and sincerely support it,” she continued. “But, you know, a lot of the radio stations killed it, for the same thing that Tank was saying. They ain’t gon’ jump on the bandwagon of whatever the hottest things is—but, let me just say this. We have to keep ourselves alive as R&B singers.”

She then named herself and some of her peers, including Chaka Khan, Etta James, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, Jazmine Sullivan, and SWV, asserting that artists like these cannot be killed.

Mary J. Blige went on to say that the music is “in us,” yet “they wanna call it ‘Popular Music’ with Adele and Justin Timberlake get ahold to it, so now it’s ‘Popular Music.’ But it’s been popular music! We’ve been had it!”

Watch Diddy and Mary J. Blige discuss the state of R&B below.

Fat Joe Responds To Irv Gotti: “Sometimes Brothers Check Each Other”

The fallout from Irv Gotti’s viral Drink Champs interview continues, with Fat Joe chiming in to speak on his relationship with the music executive.

The Murder inc. founder had the internet in a frenzy following his comments about his alleged relationship with Ashanti. During the Drink Champs episode, Irv Gotti shared intimate details about their rumored dalliance and suggested the singer was a dime-a-dozen.

The backlash was swift, and Irv Gotti was dragged on the internet for discussing the alleged affair. Fat Joe called him out for his remarks and went as far as calling him a “sucker” for airing out 20-year-old gossip. He also went in on Ja Rule, who joined Gotti on the podcast.

Irv Gotti then responded and was clearly upset, claiming he felt “fooled” by Fat Joe. “He’s not my friend,” he added. “In life you get fooled. Forget Joe, because they don’t want me to talk about Joe.”

However, Fat Joe addressed Irv Gotti’s comments and said the two share a bond more than friends; they are family.

“Irv Gotti said I’m no longer his friend and he’s correct, because I’m his brother,” Fat Joe said during an Instagram Live. “I love him. I love his entire family,” he said adding he loves Irv’s mother, sons and sisters. He continued, “I love them all. And so, sometimes brothers check each other. that’s the furthest I’m gonna go.” Check out the clip below.

Meanwhile, Ashanti has remained silent and has said nothing about the rumors. Nonetheless, it’s clear whatever relationship she had with Irv Gotti has soured. When asked earlier this year if she would be appearing in the Murder Inc. docuseries, the songstress found the suggestion laughable. “No,” she replied before bursting into laughter.

From Da Projects to Private Jets, Cadillac Shorty Shows Why He’s a Champion

It’s not easy to remain relevant in today’s competitive music industry. With thousands of aspiring artists fighting for the top spot, one-hit wonders are not uncommon. That’s why it is essential to pay attention when you see an artist like Cadillac Shorty consistently dropping high-quality albums and songs that connect with listeners.

The artist’s raspy vocals and catchy hooks are one reason he’s scaled new heights in his field, but he says that’s not all there is to his impressive career. Cadillac Shorty is a prime example of how anything can happen with the right attitude and consistency, from his humble beginnings to private jets and success.

Cadillac Shorty‘s ascent to stardom began with his first music video. The song received 5 million views on streaming platforms and retained the top spot on World Star Hip Hop for over a week. He performed at the 2nd annual Forgiato Festival alongside fellow Miami rappers Currency, Stally, Ball Greezy, Brisco, Briana Perry, and others.

In 2019, Cadillac performed his single, “No Visits,” at Papa Keith’s star-studded People Matters Festival. Cadillac shared the platform with other big names in Miami’s rap scene, creating networks he has greatly benefitted from in his career. The rapper has also been featured on two of Miami’s most prominent radio stations, 99 Jamz and 103.5 The Beat.

Cadillac Shorty understands the importance of unique personal branding as an artist in a highly competitive space. Though the “Habitual Hustler 2” hitmaker always aims for the top spot in the rap scene, he does not conform to the typical rap star lifestyle. “What stands out like a sore thumb for me is not the typical ‘I’m living what I’m rapping’ bs,” Cadillac shares. “But I really do live how I rap and make a living off my rap. Ya know, life and death are in the power of the tongue, and I manifested my lifestyle through my lyrics.”

From his music to his personal life, Cadillac has never let his environment stop him from dreaming big. On the creative side, he has made his mark by releasing raw and unapologetic lyrics that are relatable and inspirational. His music inspires listeners to keep grinding until they achieve their dreams, even when it seems like they are facing insurmountable odds. Cadillac admits he often feels like he hasn’t done enough, which is why he’s always hustling.

“From da projects to private jets, hate it or luv it, da underdog’s on top,” Cadillac captions one of his photos on Instagram. Overcoming the odds and living the life of his dreams is just one achievement Cadillac has made so far. The hitmaker continues to create music and live out his dreams as if there were no limits on what can be accomplished, and that’s precisely what he believes. With a resolute and determined mindset, Cadillac plans to continue living his life with ferocious intentionality and inspire other hustlers to go for it.

Dr. Dre Reveals How Jay-Z & Nas Helped Save Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show

Dr. Dre revealed that he almost backed out of the historic Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show, and it took a couple of fellow legends to convince him to perform.

The super producer orchestrated a historic Hip-Hop show featuring Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, and Anderson .Paak at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium. The event was one of the most talked about events of the year and one of the most celebrated Super Bowl performances. The performance was even nominated five times at the 2022 Primetime Emmy Awards.

However, The Compton native was apprehensive and was about to nix his performance until he spoke to a couple of friends. Dre called Jay-Z and Nas, and they literally saved the show.

“I was absolutely concerned about that,” he admitted During a recent appearance on fitness entrepreneur Dolvett Quince’s Workout the Doubt podcast. “I actually called a couple of close friends and said, ‘Listen, I’m gonna pull out.’”

Dr. Dre had concerns he might be seen as a sellout. ‘I’m not going to do the show. Because I don’t know if I want that smoke,” he added. “I don’t know if I want the backlash after doing the show and potentially looking like a f###### sellout or something like that.’”

Jay-Z & Nas Reassured Dr. Dre

However, Jay-Z and Nas convinced him he was doing the right thing. “I got on the phone with Nas. He called me up and said, ‘Yo bro’ — you know, Nas has that voice — ‘Yo bro, you gotta do it. You have to do this. It’s going to be so powerful for f###### Hip-Hop, for the culture, for you, for L.A. and the whole nine.’”

He continued, “We were on the phone for like 10 minutes, and he talked me into doing it. Nas and JAY-Z were big reasons why I decided to do the show.” Watch the clip below.

Rick Ross Responds To Labor Violations At His Wingstop Locations

Rick Ross reacted to the U.S. Department of Labor fining his company for labor violations at several Wingstop locations in Mississippi.

“When you’re running a business, there will be mistakes,” Rick Ross said on Instagram Stories. “But as the biggest boss, you never make the same mistake twice. You see, accountability—taking accountability is big when you the biggest. And remember this: most successful people don’t take stumbling as a setback but actually a stepping stone to greater things, ya heard me? Let’s be great.”

The Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division discovered multiple violations at Wingstops operated by Boss Wings Enterprises LLC, which is owned by Rick Ross and his family. The company wrongfully deducted the wages of 244 employees.

Boss Wings forced Wingstop workers to pay for their own uniforms, safety training, background checks and cash register shortages. Boss Wings also failed to maintain a record of employee hours worked and wage deductions.

“The law prevents Boss Wings Enterprises LLC from shifting operating costs to workers by deducting the costs of uniforms, cash register shortages or training expenses, or to allow a worker’s pay to fall below the minimum wage rate,” Wage and Hour Division District Director Audrey Hall said.

Rick Ross’ family business must pay $114,427 in back wages, liquidated damages and civil penalties.
