Tyga & Avril Lavigne Confirm Dating Rumors With Kiss In The City Of Love

After sending the rumor mill into overdrive over the last few weeks as fans speculated about a budding relationship, Tyga and Avril Lavigne confirmed the gossip with a passionate kiss during a Paris Fashion Week event Monday (Mar. 6). 

The new couple was in town for actress Hunter Schafer’s new collab with Mugler. The pair were photographed holding hands and embracing as they chatted with friends. In another PDA, Tyga was caught tenderly clasping Avril Lavigne’s face before going in for a kiss. Check out the images below.  

Tyga & Avril Lavigne Spark Romance Rumors With Multiple Dates

Fans of both artists began speculating they were dating after they were spotted together last month. Paparazzi caught Tyga and Avril locked in an embrace outside L.A. eatery NOBU on Feb. 19.  

Then, last week, the couple attended another Paris Fashion Week party hosted by Leonardo DiCaprio. Tyga and Avril Lavigne have also been photographed together on several other outings.  

However, some fans were shocked the couple made their official debut in Paris after Avril got engaged to her now ex Mod Sun in the city last March.  

A rep for Avril Lavigne confirmed the split last month, which apparently left the 35-year-old singer blindsided.  

“They were together and engaged as of three days ago when he left for tour, so if anything has changed, that’s news to him,” a spokesperson for Mod Sun said at the time.  

The Minnesota artist revealed his shock at the breakup in a post on social media last week.  

“In 1 week my entire life completely changed…I just know there’s a plan for it all. I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken 💔” Mod Sun wrote. “Being surrounded by love every night on tour has been an absolute blessing. I have the best friends in the entire world, thanks for always having my back. See you on stage.”

Jadakiss Reveals He Never Wanted Signature Laugh On Recordings

While Jadakiss’s signature laugh has become something of a trademark for The Lox legend, it only became a feature thanks to an insightful engineer.  

During a recent appearance on the I AM ATHLETE podcast, Jadakiss revealed that he initially used his raspy laugh to break up the monotony between verses while recording in the studio. It also served as a way for him to clear his voice before moving on.  

“My engineer, [Dragan ‘Chach’ Cacinovic], I think he’s from Croatia. Ruff Ryders introduced us to him, and he worked with us for years,” Kiss explained. “I was recording some verses and my voice is so raspy sometimes, I’m clogged up, I would do that as a tension breaker to clear my throat and my voice before I’m about to do the verse.” 

However, it was his engineer that spotted the adlib potential of Jada’s laugh and kept it on the recording. 

“[I] never intended on him keeping it,” Jadakiss admitted. “So I do it, I get out to come hear the verse and he kept it! I’m like, ‘What’s that?’ ‘Nah, you gotta leave that.’ I’m like, ‘iight.’ So then I just started doing it and people started loving it!”  

Once the iconic gravelly laugh debuted on wax, the rest was history.  

“Aunties coming up to me in the morning, ‘Hey, ain’t you that boy who make that sound?’” Jadakiss recalled. “Then it just became my signature trademark.” Check out the clip below and watch the podcast at the end of the page.

Boosie Responds To Skip Bayless Questioning If Ja Morant Is A Gang Member

Boosie Badazz is speaking up for Ja Morant after Skip Bayless questioned if the Memphis Grizzlies player wants to be a crip. 

The sports commentator raised the issue during Monday’s episode of Undisputed after the NBA player flashed a gun while at a strip club on an Instagram Live video at the weekend. Skip questioned if Ja Morant is actually a gang member or whether he was just acting like one. He said he was “shocked” at how “brazen” the video was and asked his NBA contacts their thoughts.  

“They’re asking me, ‘Are you sure he’s not that? Like that’s just who he is — that he is about that life.’” 

Skip then stated, “Remember, he’s thrown up the Crip sign, I’ve seen him throw it up two or three times. I’ve probably missed some other times” He questioned “What does that mean? Does that mean he wants to get associated with the Crips, or he got initiated with the Crips, or he just has a dream of being a Crip?” 

He also wondered if Ja Morant is “associating with the wrong people” or if he is, in fact, “part of the wrong people.”  

Co-host Shannon Sharpe added, “You know what, Skip? You and the people you talked to might be 100 percent correct, but that makes it even more egregious. Because you got out of that.” Watch the clip below. 

Boosie Says Ja Morant Is Not A Gang Member

However, Boosie took to Twitter defending Ja Morant and urging Skip not to create narratives.

The Grizzlies suspended Ja Morant for “at least” two games following the firearm incident.  

“I take full responsibility for my actions last night. I’m sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire Grizzlies’ organization for letting you down,” Morant said in a statement after the IG Live video went viral. “I’m going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being.”

GloRilla “Devastated & Heartbroken” As Second Woman Dies Following Stampede At Her Concert

A second woman has lost her life following a stampede at a GloRilla concert in New York on Sunday. 

According the Associated Press, the chaos began after the CMG artist and Finesse2tymes finished performing at the Mar. 5 concert at the Main Street Armory in Rochester, NY. Authorities believe the crush may have been prompted by a false report of a concert goer with a gun, leading fans to rush to the exit.  

“We do not have any evidence of gunshots being fired or of anyone being shot or stabbed at the scene,” Police Chief David M. Smith said during a news briefing on Monday. Investigators are examining other potential causes of the fatal crowd surge, including “possibly crowd size, shots fired, pepper spray and other contributing factors.” 

Emergency responders transported three critically injured people to the hospital. One of them, 33-year-old Rhondesia Belton, a Buffalo Traffic Violations Agency employee, died at a hospital. 

“Her family, friends, and colleagues are devastated and left to mourn this tragic loss. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers,” Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown tweeted Monday evening. 

On Monday evening, Rochester Police confirmed a second person lost their life in the tragedy. They have not released the 35-year-old woman’s name. One additional woman remains in critical condition, while another seven individuals were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.  

GloRilla Offers Prayers Over “Tragic Deaths”

GloRilla issued a statement on Twitter late Monday, expressing her grief at the “tragic” loss. 

“I am devastated & heartbroken over the tragic deaths that happened after Sunday’s show,” she wrote. “My fans mean the world to me 😢praying for their families & for a speedy recovery of everyone affected. 🙏🏽” 

Meanwhile, the city’s mayor Malik Evans promised a thorough investigation into the incident.  

“We are going to hold people accountable for what happened last night, period,” Evans said. 

“If you go to a concert you do not expect to be trampled,” he added. “Your loved ones expect you to be able to come home and talk about the experience that you had at that great concert.”

Rapper Bun B has lost a piece of clothing and he is willing to pay top dollar to get it back.

On Friday, Mar. 3, the Houston legend performed at Houston’s Rodeo Southern Takeover at the NRG Park and misplaced one of his ponchos. He wants it back and has taken to social media to offer a reward to anyone that can get back to him.

“Thee @purple_brand poncho is gone!” he captioned on Sunday night. “We can’t find it anywhere! I’m offering a 1k award for it. I don’t care who has it. Just get it back to me and take the money. No questions asked.”

According to Click2Houston, the poncho had a UGK emblem on it and was created by the Purple Brand, a popular designer taking the culture by storm.

Even though the poncho is missing, the weekend was a success with tons of talent performing for 77,000 people. The South was in the building.

From Tennessee he had, Tela, Jazze Pha and 8 Ball & MJG. From Mississippi, David Banner feat. Lil Flip and Big KRIT represented. Georgia was in the house with rapper Trinidad James and Louisiana had Cupid, Mannie Fresh and Juvenile to have fans out their seats.

His home state of Texas came and shut it down with Chalie Boy, Yungstar, Big Mike, Scarface, and Erykah Badu.

Cardi B Camp Debunks Claim She’s Releasing Beauty Line

Cardi B hasn’t launched her own line of beauty products despite reports suggesting she did.

A source close to Cardi B told TMZ the stories about her supposed beauty line were false. Several articles and social media posts claimed she teamed with a company known as Delight Cosmeceutical Labs to create the Kulture Wave beauty line.

Outlets may have been fooled by a seemingly fake press release. The press release included quotes credited to Cardi B.

The Atlantic Records rapper and her husband Offset partnered with McDonald’s for a celebrity promotion in February. The couple’s meal faced pushback from some McDonald’s franchisees, but the fast-food chain had no desire to drop the campaign.

“McDonald’s stands behind our partnership with Cardi B and Offset,” a rep told TODAY. “They have been incredible partners and we support them as a family.”

Last month, Cardi B participated in court-ordered community service for third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment. She explained why she appreciated her punishment in a Twitter post.

“Community service has been the best thing that has happened to me,” she wrote. “Almost like a spiritual journey because sometimes I leave these centers in tears. Those people that we leave behind they just need somebody to talk and a lil push and YOU might be able to change their life forever.”

Cardi B fans are still waiting on her to drop a new album. She hasn’t released a project since 2018’s Invasion of Privacy.

North West Parody Of Ice Spice Has People Saying Kanye Was Right About TikTok

Footage of North West imitating Ice Spice sparked a debate about Kanye West’s issues with TikTok.

North, who is 9 years old, appeared in a TikTok video featuring her lip-syncing Ice Spice’s “Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2” verse. A Twitter contingent felt North’s post justified Kanye’s past concerns regarding TikTok.

North recited Ice Spice’s line “bet he blowing her back” in the clip, which didn’t sit well with a number of Twitter users. Kanye’s daughter wore a wig to complete her impression of Ice Spice.

Kanye previously called out his ex-wife Kim Kardashian for allowing their daughter to create TikTok videos. He claimed North was on the social media platform against his will.

“I’m not allowing my daughter to be used by TikTok, to be used by Disney,” he said in 2022. “I have a say-so.”

Kardashian defended North’s TikTok activity in response to Kanye’s outrage. The reality TV star elaborated on how she handles North’s usage of social media in an interview with Gwyneth Paltrow.

“I have made a rule with their dad about it, you know, he’s not happy about that, I respect that,” Kardashian said. “It can only be on my own phone. It’s not something where she can scroll and look at things.”

What Happened To The KANYE WEST / Adidas “Deal”?

What happened to that enormous, ground-breaking deal where Kanye West gets back with Adidas to sell unsold Yeezy merchandise? 

Last week, a lot of outlets reported that Kanye and the sports merchandise giant made something happen on the business front. One week later, we have yet to see a real report materialize in support of what outlets said was true. On top of that, neither Adidas nor Kanye West has confirmed that they are now working together to sell old merchandise that was trapped in a warehouse. We are talking about billions in revenue.

I’m thinking people ran with it because they didn’t have anything better to do at that time and somebody decided to continue to run with it until it got to some of these rap blogs. Nevertheless, I think Adidas is willing to take the big hit and loss in revenue, and restructure deals around it to get it back. For example, there have been rumors that Jeezy is working with Adidas now. Again, I don’t believe there’s any factual report that says this is true. What I find to be interesting is that you have people on both sides of the coin, some of which I agree with working with Adidas and others that say we should not. Business is business, so I don’t even care.

However, if you feel strongly about it don’t support. I would not hang my hat on Kanye West for any reason though. I will say this “he’s very quiet now “and truth be told, that is a good thing. Hopefully he’s getting back to some basics like music and being creative maybe that girlfriend of his is a positive thing!

Trae Tha Truth Calls Out Officers For Harassing & Profiling Him At Airport

Officers confronted Trae Tha Truth as he was leaving an airport on Monday morning (March 6).

Trae Tha Truth shared a video of the officers hounding him and searching his bag for drugs. One officer completed a quick search, finding nothing in the veteran rapper’s luggage.

“Its Crazy , i Just landed at 6am From LA and out of all Tha people in tha Airport These Officers Decided to Profile me Like i aint see what they was doing,” Trae Tha Truth wrote on Instagram. “First they threw a dog toy by my bag so the drug dog can sniff it , then they say oh the dog came by yo bag … Then the dog walk off and they ask me Do i Got Dope In My Bag. Out of Hundreds of people his ass wanna pick me lol , He got tha right one Today…”

Trae Tha Truth condemned law enforcement for racially profiling him. He asked his social media followers to help him identify the officers.

“He thought it was gone be his moment to shine, Imma Help Him Get tha attention and recognition he need,” he wrote. “Askin me do I Got Dope , Look how he search tha bag …. Harassing, Discrimination and Profiling….. S### Got me Hot…. If U Know him Or How to find him off the badge number he said at tha beginning Send me his info or drop it in comments….”

Melle Mel Calls BS On Ranking Nicki Minaj Above Rakim

Melle Mel considered it blasphemous to rank Nicki Minaj above Rakim when listing the best rappers of all time.

The Hip-Hop pioneer continued to criticize Billboard’s rankings of the greatest rappers in an interview with the Art of Dialogue. After raising issues with Eminem’s spot on the list, Melle Mel frowned on the outlet placing Nicki Minaj at No. 10 with Rakim at No. 13.

“You know that’s some b#######,” Melle Mel stated. “Come on now … And I actually like Nicki Minaj, but you know that’s some b#######.”

The Furious Five member spoke highly of Rakim’s legacy as a rap innovator. Melle Mel gave Nicki Minaj credit but found it ridiculous to put her above Rakim.

“I’m coming from how the game changed and how the culture changed,” he explained. “I’m not coming from who I like rapping because I don’t like the way nobody rap … I don’t got nobody in my head like that except the Most High.”

He continued, “Nick Minaj being [above Rakim], that’s blasphemy. And I don’t got nothing wrong with Nicki. I actually like Nicki Minaj. She can write. Decent looking chick. But even if she was better than Rakim, you don’t put her over no g###### Rakim. What kind of s### is that?”

Marlon Wayans Speaks On Will Smith & Chris Rock Slap, Says Fresh Prince ‘Snapped’ Should Be Granted Forgiveness

As the Oscars approaches, there are a few comedy specials about the “slap” that was heard around the world. On Sunday, Mar. 27, 2022, Will Smith smacked Chris Rock in the face for making a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith.

The victim, Chris Rock, made history with his new special “Selective Outrage.” The offering is the first time Netflix had ever live-streamed anything. However, his was not the only comedy commentary on that incident to come out over the week.

Comedian and funny man Marlon Wayans has produced, licensed, and dropped a new special on HBO called “God Loves Me.”

The stand-up concert, filmed in Atlanta, GA, is a love letter to all three parties pointing at all the reasons he admires them, poking fun at each of them in their active or passive roles in the incident, and unequivocally blasting Smith for his actions. The difference is, Wayans approached it with forgiveness and love attached to his reprimand.

During a private filming of DJ Suss One’s “The Feature Presentation” podcast, the youngest of the first-generation Wayans Brothers said, he knows all three parties and believes Smith had a breakdown in front of the whole world.

“… being in these situations, excitement, anxiety all these things that we never seen… pain … childhood trauma … that man snapped. And unfortunately, Chris Rock cracked the wrong joke on the wrong day,” Wayans said, adding, “That was just the breaking point, but there was a lot boiling up.”

He revealed that he texted Smith the night of the Academy Awards. He said he was hurt because the incident impacted more than just the two.

“I actually left the parties because I don’t want to be phony,” he said.

“I was proud of him for winning that award, you know?” he told the Power 105 Dj, reminding him that he had just done Bel-Air with Smith.

“I said I’m proud of him,” Wayans shared, saying he text him, “I need you to go sit in seven hours of therapy on Monday because you got some real s##t going on.”

He said he also texted Rock and asked him if he was “good.”

Ultimately, Wayans said this is a time for forgiveness and not judgment, noting that one incident should not replace 30 plus years of Black excellence.

The former Howard University student also shared before he left the intimate discussion that he learned things from both men throughout his life.

From Rock, he learned” to be great at something, you have to do it a lot” and “to have your own style.” Wayans said he learned from the Fresh Prince to never “marginalize” yourself based on race, noting his example of being a “Black international superstar” that defied the odds, by even paying to promote himself overseas when studios did not see the value in the marketing.

Kodak Black’s Rolling Loud Appearance Begs The Question: Will He Make It Through Rehab?

Kodak Black performed at Rolling Loud Los Angeles over the weekend. But according to reports, he needed a helluva lot of supervision to ensure he stayed sober before his set. The Florida rapper, who’s on probation, recently tested positive for Fentanyl and was ordered to 30 days of in-patient rehab. But will he make it? According to sources, Kodak’s team kept a close on him. They even enlisted a physician to monitor his eating habits and another person who essentially had to babysit him.

Anyone familiar with addiction knows it’s entirely up to the person whether they want to get sober or not. You can’t force anyone into sobriety. It has to be their own decision. So the fact he was only able to stay away from drugs because he had supervision isn’t a promising sign. Kodak has yet to speak on the matter, so it’s all speculation at this point.

Kodak Black was arrested last July with 31 oxycodone pills and nearly $75,000 in cash. He was charged with one count of trafficking oxycodone and one count of possession of a controlled substance, according to the Broward County Clerk’s Office. He pleaded not guilty and requested a jury trial.

Oxycodone is one of the most addictive pain killers out there. Therefore, they’re incredibly hard to kick. Kodak is presumably at a facility now where he’ll have to detox. Wishing the best for rap’s Super Gremlin—it’s not easy.

The 33-date run will kick off on July 7 in Vancouver, British Columbia before heading to Washington state the following day. The tour will make additional stops in cities such as Denver, Toronto and Brooklyn before wrapping up in Irvine, California on August 27.

Snoop Dogg was the butt of one of Chris Rock’s jokes during his new Netflix special, Chris Rock: Selective Outrage. Rock asked, “When did Snoop Dogg become Morgan Freeman?” He went on to marvel at Snoop “selling everything,” including wine, beer, tampons and reverse mortgages. He ended the bit by assuring the audience he wasn’t dissing Snoop. After all, he said, he didn’t need “another rapper” mad at him, a reference to the Will Smith Oscars slap. Of course, it was all in good fun. His comments about Smith and Jada Pinkett, however, are a different story.

GloRilla Concert Turns Into Death & Chaos In New York

Rising star GloRilla has made headlines after one person lost their life at her Sunday, Mar. 5 concert at the Main Street Armory in Rochester, NY.

Sadly, according to the Associated Press, someone falsely reported after the concert around 11:00 pm, someone in the crowd had a gun, prompting people to start to run in hysteria.

As a result, there was a crowd surge as people ran toward the exits. A stampede left one casualty and nine people hurt.

Originally, police found three of nine critically injured, and took them immediately to the hospital. One of the three, a 33-year-old woman, died in doctor’s care. The others remain in critical condition. The seven were treated but their injuries were not life-threatening.

During a news briefing about the incident, Police Chief David M. Smith said, “We do not have any evidence of gunshots being fired or of anyone being shot or stabbed at the scene.”

“What began last night as a night of live music and fun for the performer GloRilla ended in tragedy with one person dead and two more fighting for their lives,” the chief said. 

The police are still investigating the incident.

The concert featured GloRilla and Finess2tymes and was packed.

GloRilla has burst on the scene with her hit song “Tomorrow,” featuring Cardi B with the epic alley-oop on the verse. Since the Grammy awards mini-performance and a few weeks on the Billboard charts, her stock has been up and people have been itching to see her.

Still, the city’s mayor Malik Evans said nothing like this should have happened, despite how popular and packed the concert might have been.

“If you go to a concert you do not expect to be trampled,” he said. “Your loved ones expect you to be able to come home and talk about the experience that you had at that great concert.”

“We are going to hold people accountable for what happened last night, period,” Evans said.

Hip-Hop Forrest Gump and Will Smith’s longtime bodyguard/ friend Charlie Mack didn’t appreciate how Chris Rock lashed out at the actor’s wife during his live Netflix special, Chris Rock: Selective Outrage.

The comments came after Rock’s publicist Marvet Britto posted a glowing review about the performance.

“Life is not merely summarized by what is said or done to you….but how YOU choose to respond,” she wrote. “AN EPIC TOUR OF HEALING ENDING WITH AN EPIC PERFORMANCE!!!! So SUPA PROUD of my friend @chrisrock for working through his pain & cementing his legacy as the first live performance in Netflix history.”

Charlie Mack caught wind of the post and added his two cents in the comment section, challenging the veteran star maker.

He said, “Calling Jada a B, is calling everyone Black woman a B!!!! Jada has never spoken any words of disrespect on that Brotha!!!!! Never EVER, in fact, she done just the opposite!! Love on and celebrated him!!! And all of us for that matter!! And you stand in celebration of a Blackman viciously calling our Sista and B??”

He then wrote that his heart “bleeds” for Britto, noting he has always considered her a “Black Queen” and “Class Act” and that he has known Britto for more than 30 years.

Mack concluded, “Never thought I’d see this day,” before wishing her peace and “Brotherly Love.”

Before checking out, he added something for everyone to note, “Love is needed the most when deserved the LEAST!!!!! Our People are in bad shape!” 

Ice Cube, Post Malone & More Cast In Animated ‘TMNT: Mutant Mayhem’

Producer/actor Seth Rogen announced the main voice cast for the CG-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. Musicians Ice Cube and Post Malone landed voice-acting roles in the Jeff Rowe-directed movie.

Rogen made the announcement at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on March 4. A teaser trailer for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem came out today (March 6). 

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Ice Cube will play Superfly in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. Additionally, “Sunflower” hitmaker Post Malone will provide the voice for Ray Fillet.

Mutant Mayhem also features Micah Abbey as Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr. as Michelangelo, Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo, Brady Noon as Raphael, and Jackie Chan as Splinter.

The rest of the cast includes Seth Rogen (Bebop), Hannibal Buress (Genghis Frog), John Cena (Rocksteady), Giancarlo Esposito (Baxter Stockman), Paul Rudd (Mondo Gecko), and Maya Rudolph (Cynthia Utrom).

Nickelodeon Animation President Praises TMNT: Mutant Mayhem Cast

“We are beyond thrilled by this world-class cast we’ve assembled to bring these iconic, beloved characters to life in a new chapter of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe,” states Ramsey Naito, President of Nickelodeon Animation and Paramount Animation.

Ramsey Naito continued, “This really sets a new bar for this globally celebrated franchise, and we can’t wait to show audiences this film.” Previously, the first animated TMNT film hit American theaters in 2007.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles began as a comic book. The original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series debuted on television in 1987. The live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles motion picture from 1990 kicked off the movie franchise.

1991’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, 1993’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, 2014’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and 2016’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows also preceded Mutant Mayhem.

Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures will release Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem on August 4, 2023.

Angela Yee Responds To DJ Envy Calling Cap On Her Comments About “The Breakfast Club”

What appeared to be an amicable split between the original hosts of The Breakfast Club now seems to have some friction involved. Angela Yee and DJ Envy went back and forth in the media over the last several days.

The troublesome situation started after Anglea Yee appeared on The Tamron Hall Show. That interview on the daytime talk show included Yee reflecting on her decision to leave The Breakfast Club to host her own radio show on the same network.

In particular, Yee discussed the public sometimes wanting to hold her accountable for the actions of DJ Envy and fellow co-host Charlamagne Tha God. She also spoke about being the only on-air female personality on The Breakfast Club.

“Sometimes I would feel like I got it harder than [Charlamagne Tha God] did for some things that he said. And so I also want to make it clear that we’re all three individuals. You say what you say, feel how you feel, and I do too. But it’s hard because people affiliate you with the whole group,” Angela Yee told Tamron Hall.

Yee added, “I was the only woman who worked there too. I mean when it came to producers, camera people, and it wasn’t an easy room for me to be in. I feel like I did need more backup because even things that I felt, as a woman – if somebody can’t understand your point of view because they’re not coming from where you come from. So that was hard for me too, to be the only woman there.”

DJ Envy Says Angela Yee Misspoke, Yee Releases A Statement About Her Comments

Over the weekend, DJ Envy addressed what Angela Yee had to say about her time on The Breakfast Club. At first, Envy responded to The Shade Room‘s Instagram post about the topic by commenting, “🧢That’s not true… 🧢There are plenty of women that work behind the scenes on [The Breakfast Club].”

Later, DJ Envy suggested Angele Yee just “misspoke” and that she would “clean up” her remarks. He also pointed out that iHeartMedia Executive Vice President of Programming, Thea Mitchem, oversees the hiring for the company that broadcasts The Breakfast Club.

Angela Yee took to Twitter to share more of her thoughts on the matter. The Lip Service podcast presenter offered further explanations on what she had to say on Tamron Hall about the lack of women working at her former show.

Yee tweeted:

Usually, I don’t comment or go back and forth with people but there’s too much spinning. “In the room” referred to the people in the studio: the producer, board op, videographer, and hosts. Yes, they are men. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t amazing women who are execs, salespeople, interns, and in other departments. I’ve said this on many occasions: that it can be hard when your viewpoint is different based on your experience. I didn’t anticipate that this would cause such a firestorm. Everyone texting me “are you ok” (which I appreciate!) and I know I don’t normally take the time to overexplain because it drags things out even more but that’s all 🤷🏽‍♀️.
