Method Man Talks Setbacks For ‘Meth Lab 3’ Album

Wu-Tang Clan member Method Man has a new project on the way. Meth Lab 3: The Rehab will hit DSPs on May 6 via Hanz On Music Entertainment/ONErpm.

Method Man recorded Meth Lab 3 in Staten Island’s Meth Lab Studios. The 51-year-old emcee, along with friend/collaborator Hanz On, also curated The Meth Lab platform which links the Staten Island Hip Hop community with up-and-coming artists.

“This installation of the Meth Lab is shaping up to be a good one. We’ve had a lot of setbacks with this album, one being a pandemic and a lockdown. Amongst all the delays my team stayed solid and the album developed into a respectful body of work,” states Method Man.

The Meth Lab 3 single “Live From The Meth Lab” arrived this week. Method Man drafted Hip Hop legends Redman and KRS-One as well as Wu-affiliated rapper JoJo Pelligrino as features for the track.

Previously, Method Man dropped “The Last 2 Minutes” featuring Iron Mic and “Butterfly Effect” featuring RJ Payne. Meth Lab 3: The Rehab is currently available for pre-save/pre-add on Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal.

The original Meth Lab came out in 2015 with contributions by acts such as Hanz On, Redman, Mack Wilds, and several Wu-Tang Clan representatives. Meth Lab Season 2: The Lithium landed three years later. Hanz On also contributed to that album.

Wiz Khalifa Has Words For Critics Of Him Working Out In His Underwear

A quick scroll down Wiz Khalifa’s Instagram page will reveal quite a few pictures and videos of the Pittsburgh-bred rapper in just his underwear. Apparently, Wiz enjoys working out while wearing the bare minimum.

Some Instagram users are not fans of constantly seeing Wiz Khalifa without pants on. For example, Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast host Gillie da King expressed his annoyance with the “See You Again” hitmaker.

“Today I had to unfollow one of my brothers, Wiz Khalifa. I love you brother,” said Gillie da King in an IG video. The Philadelphia native added, “Every time I come on my page, you’re in your drawers. You’re giving up strap-and-balls action.”

Gillie da King then told his followers to let him know when Wiz Khalifa was no longer going to the gym in his underwear so he can re-follow him. He captioned his video, “Love u Brotha @wizkhalifa but see ya 😂😂.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/CcDyAUgA-C_/

Gillie Da King’s video about Wiz Khalifa got reposted on several blogs. Khalifa clearly got wind of the online conversations surrounding his workout attire, and he responded in his own Instagram video.

“The same n##### who be telling me to put clothes on in the gym, or unfollowing me because I make them uncomfortable, y’all the same n##### who laughed at people when they read in high school or said that you sound stupid because you sound smart,” said Khalifa.

The Stoner’s Night project co-creator with Juicy J continued, “Y’all are negative. And you know what I do with negativity? See ya!” By adding “see ya” at the end, Wiz Khalifa seemed to be subtlely acknowledging he was addressing Gillie da King.

While UnderwearGate plays out on social media, Khalifa is preparing to perform at the Summerfest music festival in June. He recently teamed up with Big K.R.I.T., Smoke DZA, and Girl Talk for the collaborative effort Full Court Press which dropped today (April 8).

TDE’s Punch Reacts To Joke About Isaiah Rashad’s Sexuality

Earlier this year, footage of a man resembling Isaiah Rashad performing oral sex on another man went viral on social media. The Top Dawg Entertainment emcee never publicly addressed the video.

Someone from the TDE camp has now commented on Isaiah Rashad’s sexuality. Top Dawg President Terrence “Punch” Henderson Jr. checked a troll on Twitter for joking about Rashad.

The exchange between Punch and Los Angeles-based recording artist JAHMED actually began over a take about Jay-Z. In a tweet posted on April 6, Punch referred to Jay as the G.O.A.T. of Hip Hop.

JAHMED responded to Punch’s tweet about Jay-Z by questioning why the rapper/executive is not more worried about Isaiah Rashad allegedly having sex with men. Punch fired back on Twitter.

“Wait… so you want me to be concerned about another grown man’s sex life?? Is that what you’re really interested in? As [opposed] to having a dialogue about music??” asked Punch.

JAHMED deleted his tweet about Isaiah Rashad, but Punch reposted a screenshot of the tweet to his 240,000 followers. The back-and-forth ended with JAHMED offering an apology to Punch and Isaiah Rashad.

“Smh. That was a weak-ass/distasteful joke that I said earlier and I own that. On God, I’ve always been a Zay Wop fan and I got none but love and respect for Him, Punch, and the whole TDE team!!! [Apologies]️!!!!!!!!” tweeted JAHMED.

Punch responded, “I respect that. I appreciate you saying it publicly. 🙏🏽.” Despite receiving some backlash online, several Hip Hop figures came out in support of Isaiah Rashad after the sex tape hit the internet in February.

https://twitter.com/mdaixo/status/1511964000900325379?s=20&t=PglGKBsrAr8msmOhVTBeeA

While Stefflon Don has dropped two mixtapes and numerous singles throughout her career, this is her first full-length project. Fans have had a long wait since 2018’s Secure tape and are eager for new music from the star.

Stefflon Don Talks Kicking Down doors

The Quality Control artist reflected on her early success, sailing into the Top 10 on the U.K. charts with “Hurtin’ Me,” ft. French Montana in 2017, collecting a string of awards on the way. “I hit the Top 10 so easily, I thought that was normal,” Stefflon Don revealed during a recent interview. “I felt like that was what was supposed to happen,” she added. “Imagine you get a job and you get carried around on a golden cart as soon as you get there. I thought that was the standard.”

However, a prolific few years later, with collaborations ranging from U.K. grime heavyweights Skepta and Ghetts to legends such as Nile Rodgers and Mariah Carey, the pressure is heightened. “I feel way more pressure, for some reason,’ she admitted. Stefflon Don wants a. life without regrets. “I want to be able to tell my grandkids that their grandma never gave up. Even when it was hard I kept it moving. When a door was slammed in my face, I kicked down another one, and I felt I got knocked down but I still got back up. Me, killing my shows, winning awards, traveling the world — that’s the story I’m focused on creating.”

NLE Choppa Roasted After “Consistent Vowel Movements” Tweet

NLE Choppa tried to give out some health advice to his followers but ended up getting clowned over an unfortunate typo!

The 19-year-old is looking after his health and decided to share some intimate details surrounding his “bowel” movements with his Twitter followers. However, he ended up extolling the virtues of “consistent vowel movements,” instead.

“I’m so healthy I s### atleast 5 to 7 times a day,” NLE Choppa shared. “Consistent vowel movements mean the body is caught up to what’s on the stomach currently, not what’s been bloating in you.”

He went on, continuing to use the typo. “Vowel movements often means healing,” he advised. “If you are not using the rest room atleast 2 times a day, not good💯”

However, his followers were quick to point out the error, teasing the rapper. “I also like saying a e i o u 5-7 times a day,” was one response.

Others were surprised by the regularity of said movements. “I dont know playa,” one concerned user told NLE. “5 to 7 times sounds like u need to lay off the Chitlins.” The replies were then filled with debates about the appropriate frequency of bowel movements.

NLE Choppa Reclaims The Phrase

Nonetheless, NLE Choppa returned to clarify his comments. “Bowel,” he confirmed. “I was typing fast tryna make this flight y’all know wtf I mean.” NLE then attempted to turn the mistake into a win. “It’s vowel movement from on you heard it from doctor chop first,” he added.

After seeing some of the responses, NLE Choppa came back with more guidance. ”Y’all so brainwashed,” he began. “It’s crazy for every meal you eat your suppose to have a movement for. If you eat 3 times a day and s### once or don’t s### til the next day your gut is unhealthy SIMPLE, PERIOD. The gut is working overtime for the pile up your causing. Truth hurt, I know !”

Vince Staples returns with his fifth studio album Ramona Park Broke My Heart

The Long Beach native revealed the project is “the story of growth” and serves as the follow-up to his 2021 self-titled effort. The 16-track project includes appearances from Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Baby, and Mustard.

Last month, he wrote a thoughtful message about the inspiration behind the album ahead of release.

“I am often told the lie that life is what you make it,” he wrote. “For over a decade, most of my work has been an anthology of what I believed to be home. Now I’ve realized that it reaches beyond location.”

He continued, “I have been exploring the utility of home. Security. Comfort. Meaning. The answer. The excuse. To outgrow is to love blindly no longer. Ramona Park Broke My Heart is the story of that growth.”

Vince Staples also confirmed that “there’s a direct correlation” between his previous eponymous album and this album.

“They were kind of created at the same time,” Vince Staples shared. “I was in a similar state of mind. I’m still working through things and the questions that life poses. This album will make even more sense if you heard the previous one.”

The inspiration behind the release of his latest video came from one of the most talked-about moments of the year so far. “Will Smith inspired me man,” he tweeted just hours after the infamous slap. “Let me drop this video.” Watch “Rose Street” and stream the project below.

Coi Leray & Benzino Feud Explodes Again – Read Her Shocking Accusations

The family drama between Coi Leray and Benzino surfaced on social media once again.

Coi Leray called out her father in a string of Twitter posts on Thursday (April 7). She claimed Benzino was upset about her recent interview with The Breakfast Club. During her appearance, Coi Leray revealed her family went broke after Benzino was ousted from The Source magazine.

“My dad is texting my mom threatening her and me because I said he went broke on the breakfast club on the day of my album release,” she wrote. “I hate to bring this s### to social media but my father need help. Sorry if I offended you on breakfast club but don’t treatment me or my mom because you hate to admit that we went broke after the source.”

Coi Leray cited Benzino’s behavior as a reason why she avoided mentioning her family connections when she began her Hip Hop career.

“Build a f###### bridge and get over it that’s why I don’t even like mentioning his name,” she explained. “That’s why I never mentioned his name coming into this industry cause he can’t get over his past and don’t even realize how much he damaging when he does this stuff.”

Coi Leray also suggested Benzino was trying to overshadow her new LP’s release. Her debut album Trendsetter drops on Friday (April 8).

“The devil is working!!!!” she wrote. “THIS IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE when everything is going soo good, here he comes being weird trying to f### up somebody’s life.”

She added, “He texting my mom threatening her talking about some watch. Grow up YOU WAS JUST TRYNA GET HER TO DO GROWING UP HIP HOP !! WE DONT WANT THAT LIFE !!!! She’s tryna be here for me and support me while you tryna find every way to beef with me and suck the life out of me I’m tired.”

Coi Leray capped off her rant by calling her father “bitter and evil.”

“I’m your only f###### daughter,” she noted. “You worried about being called broke on the day of my debut album. You ain’t even text me congratulations, you so bitter and evil. Ima pray for you.”

Benzino didn’t respond to any of Coi Leray’s accusations but shared his own complaints on Twitter. Although he avoided mentioning his daughter’s name, he alluded to her Breakfast Club interview.

“To whom this may concern…LEGENDS don’t play the back….they set the standards,” he wrote. “Thank you my brothers @cthagod & @djenvy for sticking up for me and not letting a false narrative of who I am and what I’ve accomplished happen. I put in too much work in the culture.”

He continued, “The problem with this social generation is they have no respect or regard for who came before then and how they laid the blueprint for them to be successful. I always revered those who came before me and I am grateful to the legends of Hip Hop.”

Pusha T Wants To Be “The Martin Scorsese Of Street Rap”

Pusha T hopes to be viewed in the same light as acclaimed director Martin Scorsese.

The Def Jam artist spoke about his legacy in a story for Interview Magazine. Pusha T expressed his desire to be considered one of the best street rappers in Hip Hop history.

“I’m trying to become the Martin Scorsese of street rap,” he declared. “I want that brand.”

Pusha T then addressed criticism of his penchant for coke raps.

“I have to tune it out,” Pusha T said. “Everything that’s being done right now is all out of love, all out of the competitive spirit, out of the honest act of living a lifestyle. My parents told me rap wouldn’t last 20 years.”

Pusha T also discussed the making of his new album It’s Almost Dry. The veteran rapper revealed how he worked with Pharrell and Kanye West on the LP.

“During the pandemic, me and my family went and stayed with Pharrell; he has a compound,” he said. “We’d get up every morning at 6 a.m., work on music, and watch Joker. If the music didn’t feel that evil, if it didn’t have that character, we didn’t use it. After that, I took it to Ye in California. From there we found what was going to be the two different roles of these producers. Pharrell was doing compositions but Ye wanted compositions more in line with strong, street Hip Hop.”

It’s Almost Dry will be Pusha T’s first album since 2018’s DAYTONA. A tour in support of the new LP begins in May.

August Alsina Denies Rumor He’s Writing Tell-All Book About Sex Life With Jada Pinkett Smith

August Alsina shut down a rumor claiming he’s writing a tell-all book about his “entanglement” with Jada Pinkett Smith.

The New Orleans native refuted the rumor in an Instagram post on Thursday (April 7). August Alsina shared a screenshot of a message he wrote in response to a story published by The Sun, which alleged he’s signing a six-figure deal for a book detailing his sex life with Jada Pinkett Smith.

“What would be the need to write a book about my supposed ‘sex life’ with ANYBODY EVER in life ?” he wrote. “When they have written several fantasies, hypotheticals and fictions based about me on wattapad. if you’re looking for that type of entertainment, go read those! Read the book called ‘HOLY BIBLE’ while you were at it too, for whomever created and believed these lies.”

He continued, “I’m just living my life, trying to create peace, from all the glass and broken pieces of hearts, in the life of my own and was connected to me. Lastly, why would one look to make that type of money eating from the lowest of fruit, when God’s promise is GREAT HARVEST! I’m Gods very Own, so HE makes me RICH! & Not just in spirit. Be blessed.”

August Alsina also addressed the gossip in his post’s caption. He slammed the rumor again, calling it character assassination.

“Playing w/ me AINT IT!” he declared. “Great attempt to assassin[ate] my character though. The part you’ve forgotten is, God gave me the LEADING role, & HIS story gets GREATER! ‘Keep it locked & stay tuned for more.’ *106 & Park voice.”

August Alsina publicly revealed his relationship with Jada Pinkett Smith in 2020. That same year, she confirmed her “entanglement” with the singer in an infamous episode of her show Red Table Talk.

Hip Hop Stars Making it Big Outside the US

Below are some of the big names in hip hop who are also finding favor over the water.

Jay-Z

Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Jay-Z’s music has made him a star around the globe and been the subject of significant critical acclaim, too. The singer-songwriter’s debut album, Reasonable Doubt, released in 1996, was hugely influential, and its mark can be discerned to this day in terms of the development of the genre and its echoes in the albums of other artists.

With over 125 million records sold, Jay-Z is one of the world’s biggest-selling artists, and in June 2019, he officially became the world’s first hip-hop billionaire. He has won multiple awards around the world for his music; as well as being the owner of a plethora of trophies from the American music industry, he’s been recognized with awards in a host of other countries, including the UK, Sweden, Hong Kong, Canada, Japan, and Switzerland.

Jay-Z’s genius lies in both his music and his business sense; the star set up the capital venture firm, Arrive, in 2017, a platform designed to offer early-stage support and investment for business start-ups. And that’s just one of his most recent forays into the business world: the rapper also owns a high-end sports bar, a basketball team, and a prestigious champagne brand, not to mention his stake in the music streaming service Tidal and the entertainment company Roc Nation.

And it doesn’t hurt that he’s Mr. Beyonce, too.

Kanye West

As one of the biggest hip-hop stars in the world, Kanye is no stranger to global acclaim; to date, he’s won an impressive 272 awards for his work and has received a staggering 774 nominations from awards boards in a multitude of different countries.

Although it’s his private life – and most notably his marriage to Kim Kardashian and its recent implosion – that has been the subject of most press coverage concerning the entertainer in recent years, it’s his music that has long been the real star of the show. West has been a major influence on modern interpretations of hip hop for over a decade, with other hip hop artists, like Travis Scott and Drake, publicly citing his music as having been a major influence on their own work. He’s also helped to position the genre as a mainstream proposition, and his albums regularly fuse hip hop with other genres -this has helped to make hip hop music more accessible in terms of its use in marketing and promotions. For those looking for royalty-free music in the genre to incorporate into a social media video, advertising campaign, or film, for example, there is now no shortage of options.

Kanye has toured to sell-out audiences around the world and has also played at festivals held in countries including Denmark, Poland, Sweden, Chile, Singapore, and Morocco, to name just a few. It may be his marriage and his bid for the US presidency that have made the mass media headlines, but it’s West’s music that has made him a giant on the global hip hop scene.

Stormzy

And proof that you don’t need to be an act from the USA to hit hip hop megastardom, the UK’s Stormzy first broke onto the underground scene in 2014 before quickly generating more mainstream interest with his distinctive grime-infused music. His album, Gang Signs & Prayers, was released in 2017 and became the very first grime record to hit the UK charts number one spot, securing his place in hip hop fandom forever.

Have a look here if you want to download hip-hop music in a style similar to Stormzy’s for your next video or gaming project. You’ll find a range of genres and their sub-categories so that you’ll be able to easily find exactly what you need. Stormzy himself has continued to innovate in his music, releasing a freestyle track in 2015, which broke the UK’s Top 40 – the first freestyle record ever to do so.

Stormzy is a political activist, too, and regularly engages on the social platform that his stardom has given him; the star established and funds the Stormzy Scholarship for Black UK Students at the University of Cambridge, which covers tuition and maintenance grants for two students for up to four years.

Aklo

Half Japanese and half Mexican, Aklo came to the wider attention of hip hop audiences a few years ago when MTV ran a profile on the star.

In 2008 Aklo released his first album, which was followed by The Package in 2012, and this record debuted at the top of the iTunes overall chart; he was also chosen as the Best New Artist by iTunes later that year. Aklo continues to write dynamic, fresh hip hop tracks today and is a huge figure on the Japanese music scene and beyond, regularly making guest appearances on tracks by other artists, including with Ali on the 2020 track Lost in Paradise.

Woman Who Accused Snoop Dogg Of Sexual Assault Drops Lawsuit

An unidentified woman filed to dismiss her lawsuit against Snoop Dogg after accusing him of sexual assault.

According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, the accuser withdrew her case on Wednesday (April 6). The Jane Doe lawsuit claimed Snoop Dogg and Bishop Don “Magic” Juan sexually assaulted an unnamed woman in 2013.

The unidentified woman requested dismissal without prejudice, which means she could refile her claims. Snoop Dogg previously asked a judge to dismiss the case, calling it a “shakedown.”

“It is not surprising that the plaintiff dismissed her complaint against the defendants,” Snoop Dogg’s reps said in a statement to multiple outlets. “Her complaint was full of false allegations and deficiencies.”

Jane Doe’s attorney Matt Finkelberg told Rolling Stone he still believes his client’s accusations. He didn’t reveal any plans to refile the sexual assault lawsuit but emphasized the ability to do so in a dismissal without prejudice.

Finkelberg’s client sued Snoop Dogg just a few days before the Death Row Records owner performed at the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show in February. The veteran rapper denied all of Jane Doe’s allegations and suggested she was trying to extort him.

“Nothing remotely resembling plaintiff’s story about defendant Calvin Broadus ever happened,” his legal team wrote in a court filing. “He vehemently denies ever engaging in any sex act with plaintiff or assaulting or battering her.”

21 Savage’s Immigration Status Uncertain, Criminal Charges Causing Delay

British-born rapper 21 Savage’s three-year immigration status woes have taken a turn for the worst.

The Dekalb County District Attorney’s office has put a hold on his immigration fight with ICE until filed criminal charges are cleared up.

According to 21 Savage’s lawyer, Charles Kuck, his client is only allowed to travel domestically in the States — even though he is not technically a citizen, TMZ reports. The chart-topper is also not allowed to travel overseas until his immigration case is reviewed.

That might take a long time.

ICE identified him as an illegal alien in 2019 and threatened to deport him. To complicate the legal drama, 21 Savage tossed a gun and a bottle of codeine when ICE agents attempted to arrest him.

However charges for possession of controlled substance and possession of a firearm, were not filed until January of 2022.

These charges have caused a glitch in his case. The immigration case will be pending as the results of the criminal case will have bearing on whether or not he is fit to stay in the United States.

To makes matters worse, there is no date scheduled for the criminal case. If there is no criminal case, there will be no immigration case and the artist will be in limbo concerning his immigration status.

Until then, the rapper is making the most of his time.

He is scheduled to perform in the Coachella and the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in June.

Portland, Oregon DJ mogul, top-charting producer, and marketing guru Gigahurtz, is on his way to becoming one of the most influential players in the music game. As a multifaceted creative he returns to the game with a hot, new single titled “Only Fans”. OnlyFans, which is a downloadable application that increased in popularity during the pandemic, is the perfect title for this new single. As it is sexy, uptempo, and a complete vibe, “Only Fans” featured the rising Hip Hop act Double-Eff.

As Gigahurtz is most known for his DJ work with Damian Lillard, Mercedes Benz, and Microsoft, he is making sure the world knows about his budding music career. On this record, you will hear Double-Eff spitting about a lady he is into that he met back in high school. As the song progresses, it becomes clear where the title of the song originates from. Some lyrics that stand out the most include “widen your lens she gets wetter, hardcore for the stans, she doesn’t do it for the gram she does it for only fans”. KellyOh’s New Album “Legacy” is a Completely New Experience

Following the release of her hit single, “Miami 365,” KellyOh surprised fans with a new album called “Legacy.” It carries a similar cadence and energy to her single but gives fans exactly what they were asking for–more music. “After the success of my single,” said KellyOh, “I wanted to keep the momentum alive. The music was changing lives, and I was having fun. That’s a perfect and rare combination in my industry.”

KellyOh didn’t expect to release a full project this soon after the release of her last single, but according to her, it just felt right. While she had much more than five songs that could have been added to the album, she chose five because she only wanted to include the best. Too many albums today feel like you get a couple of great songs and then a handful of filler songs. That’s simply not the style of rising DJ and producer KellyOh.

When asked, KellyOh was not able to give details about future music plans for the year, but we can expect her to stay in the studio and produce more hits before the year ends. We can also expect to see exciting collaborations with popular artists which will introduce her music to an entirely new fanbase.

You can stream KellyOh’s latest album on Spotify and follow her on Instagram @kellyohgee

T$AN Announces “Till The Death of Me” Is Dropping 4/22/22

T$AN is a versatile rapper, who includes all different genres throughout his music. He isn’t the kind of artist to write down his lyrics, but instead, he has the talent to freestyle. Freestyle to him is more about that individual moment you record the line which helps to keep his mind decluttered.  Lucky for those of you reading this because he just announced he is dropping his long-awaited 22-track project “Till The Death of Me” which it will take you on a wild ride of pure heat! The project will release on 4/22/22 and marks his first major release since his departure from Columbia Records.

T$AN is a Georgia native who has moved around a lot but is now living in Philadelphia. He fell in love with music during his senior year of high school, and never looked back. From an impromptu collaboration with rapper Lil Uzi Vert early in his career to tastemaker and No Jumper Podcast giant @Adam 22  proclaiming that T$AN would “be a big star,” TSAN has spent the last 18-months cultivating his base of dedicated fans while working overtime to perfect his own sound.

He knew of his love of music since he was a child. He goes on to say “I would freestyle with my friends for fun at the lunch table all throughout middle and high school before finally recording my first song just playing around the summer after my Junior year of HS. I fell in love with making music as soon as I made it and started teaching myself how to record.”

Switching from basketball to music has really paid off for T$AN. His song “Birds Eye View” has over 1,000,000 streams across platforms, and his song “Str8 Drop” has 202k on Soundcloud independently.

Make sure to keep an eye out for his project “Till The Death of Me” dropping later this month and in the meantime, you can tap in with him below!
