Joey Bada$$ On Lizzo Controversy: I Ain’t Never Apologizing To White America

After facing backlash online, Lizzo decided to change specific lyrics on “Grrrls.” Some social media users called out the R&B/Pop performer for using the word “spazz” in the song, but Joey Bada$$ took issue with the criticism.

“It has been brought to my attention that there is a harmful word in my new song ‘GRRRLS’. Let me make one thing clear: I never want to promote derogatory language,” wrote Lizzo in a statement.

The Grammy winner continued, “As a fat black woman in America, I have had many hurtful words used against me so I understand the power words can have (whether intentionally, or in my case, unintentionally).”

Lizzo announced a new version of “Grrrls” without the offensive term. She concluded, “As an influential artist I’m dedicated to being part of the change I’ve been waiting to see in the world.”

Joey Bada$$ Calls This Generation “Too Soft”

Joey Bada$$ took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the negative reactions to Lizzo’s latest single. The Brooklyn-raised emcee specifically focused on addressing Caucasians in the United States.

“Lizzo getting flack for using spazz is crazy! [White people] just be waiting for you to say anything remotely off. 😭 I’ll be the first to tell y’all, y’all can [suck my dick]. I ain’t never apologizing to white America, hold my nuts,” stated Bada$$.

The All-Amerikkkan Badass album creator also added, “This generation is too soft. Most of y’all never got punched in the face and it shows.” Joey Bada$$ then turned his attention to so-called cancel culture.

Bada$$ Admits To Being Homophobic In The Past Before Changing His Views

“Btw am I still [canceled]? Not that I care, but I’m asking because if this is what [canceled] life looks like I might just start saying everything that comes to my mind. Ain’t nobody in real life ever tell me I was [canceled], only on the internet so I’m confused,” tweeted Bada$$.

The Two Distant Strangers actor also posted, “The internet told me I was [canceled] because I was homophobic and transphobic and honestly that was news to me. How do y’all know me better than I know myself?”

Joey Bada$$ then admitted to being homophobic as a teenager. He acknowledged being insensitive about the feelings of LGBTQ individuals and making anti-gay jokes at the time. However, Bada$$ now says he was grown a lot over the last eleven years.

“I judge people based on energy, that’s it. I got love for everybody who got love for me. Even for the m############ who don’t,” asserted the 27-year-old Pro Era member.

Yella Beezy Sees Sexual Assault Charges Get Dismissed

Markies Deandre Conway is no longer facing a criminal case in Collin County, Texas. Authorities have dismissed several charges against the rapper better known as Yella Beezy.

Police arrested Yella Beezy in November 2021. The Dallas native faced two charges of sexual assault and child endangerment or abandonment. However, CBS News claims all charges have been dropped.

The outlet also reports that Yella Beezy’s charges were no-billed, so his lawyer can have them expunged from his record. Beezy insisted the alleged victim falsely accused him of sexual misconduct.

“I can’t really speak on a lot of the stuff because my lawyer advised me not to, but I just had to speak out because people get stuff misconstrued,” said Beezy last year.

The “That’s On Me” rhymer added, “I’ll have my day in court, I ain’t worried about nothing. Evidence is going to prove itself. Like I said, a rumor spread faster than the truth. Just trust the process.”

Yella Beezy made it onto Billboard‘s Hot 100 songs chart with “That’s On Me” which peaked at #56. “Bacc At It Again” with Quavo and Gucci Mane also charted on the Hot 100. That single climbed to #78.

Over the course of his music career, Beezy released numerous mixtapes such as 2016’s Lite Work, 2018’s Ain’t No Goin’ Bacc, and 2019’s Baccend Beezy. He is scheduled to take part in the 2022 Juneteenth Unity Weekend in Dallas on June 18.

https://twitter.com/rvpfr_/status/1536615856565899264?t=J7G0lxBZzy7QIRHZwO5orQ&s=03

Before working with Unknown T, the 22-year-old artist recently celebrated exceeding one billion streams on Spotify, reportedly making him the youngest French-speaking rapper to achieve the feat.

Unknown T Asks “Who Said Drill’s Dead?”

Meanwhile, Unknown T dropped his response to anybody questioning the strength of the drill scene last week. The “Who Said Drill’s Dead?” freestyle, which features a cameo from Top boy star Ashley Walters, is divided into two parts. T squares up to Dushane in “Just Landed” before moving locations for “Batty & Bench.” Check it out below.

Unknown T broke onto the scene with the success of his hit single “Homerton B” in 2018. The song launched his career and was the first U.K. drill song to achieve Silver certification. During a 2020 interview, he explained why he believes the track “was the first drill tune to commercialise the genre of drill itself.”

He claims everyone was “bored” by drill music “until I dropped ‘Homerton B,'” he said. “I incorporated the girls, the style, d’you get me? Little things like the billboards, the interviews, the magazines – it all brought a lighter side to drill.

Unknown T continued, “Man has made history making the whole drill thing commercial. But yeah, for me it’s just a blessing to see how much change man has made.”

Soulja Boy Snaps On A$AP Rocky Over Claim He Made Rap Immature

A$AP Rocky claims rap music has regressed to a state of “adolescence,” and it has been since Soulja Boy came into the game

The Harlem native made the comments during a recent talk with comedian Jerrod Carmichael for Interview magazine.

When asked about growing older in the industry, A$AP Rocky, who has a new album on the way, replied: “Rap is in its adolescence and it’s been stuck here since Soulja Boy. Before, everybody looked 35 and up. When Lil Wayne and Jay-Z and T.I. and Jeezy and [Rick] Ross was on, rappers looked old. Like, we had Lil’ Bow Wow and that was it. That all changed with the internet and self-releasing. Now, rap is stuck in this braggadocious, adolescent space. It’s not as mature,” he added.

A$AP Rocky continued, “But the thing is, being a rapper now, you don’t want to exclude anybody or neglect any demographics. As somebody that people look up to, there’s a responsibility to put people on the right path.”

Meanwhile, Soulja Boy appears to have caught wind of the interview and took to Instagram Live to share his response.

“Come on, man. Stop listening to people, bro,” Soulja said. “N##### don’t know what the f### they talking about, on gang. That’s what I found out, bro. These n##### don’t be knowing what the f### they talking about, bro. N##### be on my Instagram, n##### be on Twitter, n##### be in person talking… about nothing. Bro, what is you talking about, bro? What is you talking about? N##### be talking about everything but how to get some money.” Check out the clip below and decide if Soulja was reacting to A$AP Rocky.

Anuel AA Plans to Launch His Personal NFT Collection This Summer

Non-fungible tokens serve as a form of artwork certification of authenticity and a license for their use as an owner. This has led to an incredible bond between artists and NFTs around the world.  As more and more art lovers and NFT enthusiasts are investing in NFT collections, artists see this as an opportunity to monetize their creative talent while also finding the much-deserved accreditation for their art. Music, as a form of art, has seen a shift in demand in the NFT space. Anuel AA, the famous MC rapper from Puerto Rico, has also joined the NFT artist community. He plans to drop his NFT collection this year, which will have more than just physical assets.

The young rapper has spearheaded the Latin trap music genre and was signed under Maybach Music Group, the Latin division of American rapper Rick Ross’ music label. His debut album, Real Hasta la Muerte, was released in 2018, and since then, Anuel has been on a hit-making spree.

Making music and world tours are what take up most of his time throughout the year. Now the artist wants to add another feather to his hat by venturing into NFTs. With this, he will become one of the first Latin artists to pioneer the launch of an NFT collection.

NFT holders will enjoy exclusive access to limited edition merchandise, album release parties, studio visits, listening sessions, and much more. It will be more than just owning a song or a musical track by the artist; the NFT owner will stand a chance to interact with Anuel and get to know him better through all these real-life experiences.

An Inside Look into Denim Nicole’s Incredible Journey

The start of every journey is a single step as it helps set the pace and motivates you to step out of your comfort zone. It also builds up your confidence, assisting you in overcoming the many obstacles along the way. For the now-celebrated artist Denim Nicole, this was a step she took 7+ years ago. At the time, Denim was only eleven years old, and it was quite a challenge to penetrate the industry considering the amount of competition in the scene. But Denim did not give up. She has worked her way to the top, becoming one of the fastest-growing young artists. So how did she achieve all this? She shares with us her incredible journey to the top.

Born in Minnesota, Denim has lived all over the US, including Atlanta, New York, Portland, and California, which is how she earned her love for different genres. Denim explains that she has loved and enjoyed listening to music from a young age and that it was everywhere around her. She recalls performing in front of her cousin and grandparents, which fuelled her passion, motivating her to dive deeper and learn more about the industry. This has also motivated her to work on becoming a better artist and touching as many people as she can with her sound.

Having to go through bullying in grade school and struggling to express her emotions, Denim found her escape in music, and she wanted to use her talent to create a safe space for everyone. She says that she aims to write music that is raw and timeless and that helps her relay the intended message perfectly.

As a young artist who has been through numerous challenges, Denim uses her songs to encourage others and spread love and positivity. She shows her listeners that failure is not the end of it all, and there is always a chance to get back up.

When Denim started her journey in the music industry, she had no one to guide her until a family friend listened to her song, “Done With These Bullies,” opening doors for the young dreamer. He realized Denim’s potential, and to help her, the friend introduced Denim to Donn Rob and OzTheWizard, who are well-known producers in the industry, having worked with the likes of Lil Durk, Juice Wrld, and The Kid Laroi.

This was a great experience for Denim, and she had the opportunity to rub shoulders with top artists. However, the excitement didn’t last long as the family friend held Denim’s masters following an unexpected pause in production. Her mom had to foot the bill for her studio recordings, which wasn’t in the original agreement. The label had signed too many artists and gone back on their agreement. The rug had been snatched from under them, but her tenacity and drive to succeed allowed her to overcome this.

She recalls that at one point, they all lived together, her sister, brothers, mother, and the producers, in a two-bedroom apartment that also acted as a studio as they couldn’t afford a bigger space. This is where she recorded her first song, “Gotta Move It,” which was unreleased, but she says this is one of their favorite things to look back on and smile at because this was the beginning of endless bonds. However, after the fallout with the ex-family friend and his refusal to release her music to her and the world took a toll on Denim. She became depressed and unmotivated, especially after losing all her prerecorded music. But Denim chose to fight back.

She worked on herself, investing in her dreams, and she was back in the game within no time. Denim Nicole has written and released several tracks, including her most popular single, “Lemonade,” which was released in August 2018 and has over 80K views on YouTube. She is also looking to release four songs this coming month as she prepares for her “Road to Fame” series.

YGR DJ, has proven his dedication to music as he crafts his sound, as seen in his latest release, “Commitment,” which although, fits his sound and discography, is a result of him “want[ing] to do something different instead of a typical club or twerk song, so [he] decided to do a slow record.” The by-product is a soulful narrative about the theme of commitment.

“Energy is a great word that I like to use when describing my music to new listeners because although it may be a more chill or bringing or even sad energy that I bring to each song my goal is to move the listener enough to make them a fan,” YGR DJ says. Carl Crawford Blasts Megan Thee Stallion After Resurfaced Video Of Her Dissing 1501 Entertainment Goes Viral

Carl Crawford has taken to social media once again to call out Megan Thee Stallion months after filing a countersuit against her in their ongoing legal battle

The 1501 Certified Entertainment CEO shared his thoughts on his Instagram stories after an old clip of Meg performing resurfaced online. In it. Megan Thee Stallion raised her middle finger and remained silent instead of rapping the lyrics “I’m the 1501 queen,” dissing her former label.

Carl Crawford Unleashes On Megan

“See I really be minding my business,” Carl Crawford began before blasting the rapper. “Nah F### U Seahorse!!” he added.

He then doubled back a short while later to leave another comment. This time Carl Crawford suggested Megan change the name of “Realer,” the song she performed in the clip.

“Song should be called Faker than Fake,” he declared, suggesting the star is less than authentic.

Carl Crawford also fired a shot at the Houston native’s manager, T. Farris, whom he blames for the feud between him and Megan. “And F### T. Farris too u b####,” he penned.

WhenCarl Crawford was accused of having Megan under a terrible contract, he claimed it was all her manager’s fault.

“This guy [T. Farris] really took advantage of me and her [Megan Thee Stallion],” Crawford explained on The Bootleg Kev Podcast. “People don’t know, that contract had nothing to do with me. This guy T. Farris and her mom did the whole thing. So they do this deal, they bring it to me, they happy with it.”

Meanwhile, Megan the Stallion and Carl Crawford exchanged shots online earlier this year. The “Savage” hitmaker called out the “greedy men” responsible for her beef with the label after learning Carl Crawford filed a countersuit against her. In turn, Crawford accused her of “playing the victim,” and hiding behind Roc Nation.

Megan replied, “Carl I don’t wanna be signed to yo pill popping ass!” She also accused him of being a “powder head” and claimed he was the one hiding behind J. Prince.

The insults continued as Carl Crawford then branded Megan “a bonafide alcoholic” while accusing her of sleeping around.

The Game Calls Out Dr. Dre For Not Including More West Coast Artists On Super Bowl Halftime Show

The Game has opened up about how it felt to be left out of Dr. Dre’s lineup at the iconic L.A.-based Super Bowl halftime performance earlier this year.

The legendary producer assembled an all-star cast for the 12-minute set, including West Coast artists Snoop Dogg and Kendrick Lamar alongside Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent. During a recent appearance on the I Am Athlete podcast, The Game, whose 2005 debut album The Documentary was produced by Dr. Dre, explained how he felt to be left out by his fellow Compton spitter.

While he was disappointed not to be included in the lineup, The Game was “hurt” Dre didn’t include more L.A.-based performers in the historic show. He believes the West Coast legend should have put on for the artists in his city instead of bringing in performers from elsewhere, no matter how iconic.

“Outside of myself, I also think that YG should’ve been on the Super Bowl,” The Game began. “If it was a New York Super Bowl you might’ve saw JAY-Z, you might’ve saw Nas, you might’ve saw Mary J. and Fivio Foreign and Alicia Keys….Snoop is an icon, Dre is an icon, Em is an icon — but Em is not from L.A., 50 is not from L.A.”

The Game Says “I’m Not A Safe Artist”

Furthermore, according to The Game, it wouldn’t have happened in another city.” I’m not taking away from the fact that they were on the Super Bowl, but L.A. n##### wouldn’t have been on a Detroit Super Bowl or New York Super Bowl. It just wouldn’t have happened. I was hurt by that,” he added.

The Compton rapper also had something to say about why he was not included in the show. “The real reason I wasn’t on the Super Bowl is because I’m not a ‘safe’ artist….You don’t know what Game gon’ do when he get up there.”

The Game continued: “They went with the ‘safe’ artists. Snoop Dogg was there because Snoop Dogg is safe, and he a legend. My grandmother knows Snoop! And so do my children.”

However, while The Game claims he’s not bothered by the snub, he wishes Dre explained the situation to him personally. “I feel like Dre should’ve called and said why. I would’ve understood that because I talk to Dre often.”

He added, “I just know if I was Dre and he was Game, he would’ve been up there. That’s just it, it’s L.A. And I am L.A. I’m in the streets.”

Nonetheless, The Game maintains he’s no longer bothered by it. Ultimately he dubbed the show “a win for our culture as a whole.” Check out the episode below.

DJ Quik’s son isn’t the first member of his family to be accused of murder. The West Coast legend’s daughter Davieanna Blake faced a murder charge in connection to the death of her 2-year-old son in 2013.

Her boyfriend Darnell Alvarez, who was the father of her child, beat DJ Quik’s grandson for wetting the bed. The child died after suffering a lacerated liver, internal bleeding and other signs of severe trauma.

Blake and Alvarez were arrested on suspicion of child abuse and first-degree murder. Blake told police she didn’t stop Alvarez from beating their child out of fear of making him more upset.

‘Wendy Williams Show’ To Officially End On June 17

The Wendy Williams Show will air its final episode on Friday (June 17).

Debmar-Mercury’s daytime talk show will officially wrap up after its host was absent for the entire 2021-2022 season. Wendy Williams won’t be returning for the finale, but producers plan to air a tribute to her.

“The final original episode of The Wendy Williams Show will air on Friday, June 17th with a video tribute to the iconic host,” a spokesperson told Variety. “The series comes to an end after 13 successful years in syndication.”

Earlier this year, Debmar-Mercury announced it would end The Wendy Williams Show due to her health concerns. A new daytime talk show hosted by Sherri Shepherd will debut in the fall.

“Since Wendy is still not available to host the show as she continues on her road to recovery, we believe it is best for our fans, stations and advertising partners to start making this transition now,” Debmar-Mercury’s co-presidents Mort Marcus and Ira Bernstein said. “We hope to be able to work with Wendy again in the future, and continue to wish her a speedy and full recovery.”

Last month, Wendy Williams vowed to return to television. She also declared she won’t watch Sherri Shepherd’s show.

Juelz Santana Calls Out Lloyd Banks For Verzuz After Snubbing, Ready-To-Go Memphis Bleek

Juelz Santana dismissed the idea of battling Memphis Bleek, but he named a potential Verzuz opponent on Tuesday (June 14).

The Dipset rapper challenged Lloyd Banks to a Verzuz battle via Twitter. Juelz Santana also reiterated his disinterest in facing Memphis Bleek.

“I WANT BANKS!!!!” he wrote. “Bleek [too] EZ.”

Memphis Bleek saw Juelz Santana’s Twitter posts and responded hours later.

“Bleek EZ … if you scared say THAT!” Memphis Bleek wrote.

Juelz Santana originally downplayed the possibility of battling Memphis Bleek during an appearance on Drink Champs. The Diplomats member claimed it wouldn’t be a competitive matchup for Verzuz.

“I don’t think he want that,” he said regarding Memphis Bleek. “I don’t even want to say that. He’s gonna want what he wants, but the people don’t want that. I don’t want that. Matter fact, you could have that one … But Bleek good, though. I f### with Bleek. I ain’t taking nothing away from him either, but I just put myself up there.”

Memphis Bleek fired back at Juelz Santana on Twitter, making it clear he was ready for a battle.

“Haaa I love it hope it go down so he’ll see why he can’t feel his face,” Memphis Bleek wrote on June 4. “[Too] much.”

Jury Selected In Trial Of Man Who Killed Nipsey Hussle

A jury has been selected in Eric Ronald Holder Jr.’s trial for the murder of rapper Nipsey Hussle — whose real name was Ermias Joseph Asghedom —in Los Angeles.

Yesterday (June 13th), a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge gave the 12 jurors marching orders, instructing them to return to the courthouse on Wednesday, June 15th.

Justice H. Clay Jacke II also called for six alternate jurors to be chosen if a juror needs to be replaced during the trial, FOX 11 reports.

Judge Jacke, who is presiding over the trial, will hear the defendant’s opening statement regarding his killing of the chart-topping artist in a highly-anticipated trial that has been three years in the making.

As reported by AllHipHop.com, Nipsey Hussle was shot and killed outside of his Marathon clothing store in Hyde Park.

It is alleged that Eric Holder was mad that Nipsey Hussle embarrassed him publicly by calling him a snitch. Surveillance and cell phone video captured him fatally shooting the father of two.

Holder was arrested on April 2nd, 2019, in the 9000 block of Artesia Boulevard in Bellflower by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies and has remained in jail since then.

He was indicted for the murder of Nipsey Hussle in May of 2019 and possessing a firearm by a felon. He was also charged with attempted murder and assault with a firearm.
