Jussie Smollett’s False Crime Report Trial Set To Begin

Nearly three years ago, Jussie Smollett made international news after the then-Empire star insisted he was assaulted in Chicago by two supporters of Donald Trump’s MAGA movement.

It turns out a grand jury actually indicted Jussie Smollett on felony disorderly conduct charges for allegedly making false police reports. Authorities believe Smollett lied about being the victim of a hate crime back in early 2019.

Smollett claimed two unknown men called him racial and homophobic slurs, poured bleach on him, and wrapped a noose around his neck. The openly gay, African-American actor/singer suggested the alleged January 29 attack was linked to a threatening letter sent to Empire‘s Chicago studio home one week prior.

However, Chicago police investigators determined Smollett allegedly paid Olabinjo Osundairo and Abimbola Osundairo $3,500 to stage the fake assault as a way to gain publicity for his career. The Osundairo brothers reportedly worked with Smollett as extras on Empire.

Jussie Smollett denied hiring the Osundairos to carry out a hoax. Jury selection for his disorderly conduct trial is set to begin on Monday (November 29). Legal experts expect Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo to testify against the 39-year-old entertainer during the trial.

Prosecutors Dropped Jussie Smollett’s First Set Of Disorderly Conduct Charges

Originally, it appeared Jussie Smollett would not have to stand trial. The office of Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx surprisingly dropped Smollett’s first set of disorderly conduct charges after he agreed to take part in community service and forfeit his $10,000 bond.

However, Cook County Circuit Court Judge Michael Toomin appointed former United States Attorney Dan K. Webb as a special prosecutor for the case. A second grand jury then indicted Jussie Smollett on the current charges in January 2020. Smollett pled not guilty.

Judge James Linn denied a last-minute effort to get the criminal case against Jussie Smollett dismissed. A disorderly conduct charge for a false crime report is a Class 4 felony in Illinois. If convicted, Smollett faces up to three years in state prison and a $25,000 fine.

Empire creators wrote Jussie Smollett off the final season 5 episodes of the Fox show after the hate crime controversy took over the public discourse in 2019. Numerous celebrities, including Empire lead stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P Henson, expressed public support for Smollett after the original charges against him were dropped.

The 2021 Soul Train Awards, hosted by Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold, aired last night (November 28) on the BET cable network. R&B supergroup Silk Sonic and R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan were the night’s big winners.

Silk Sonic’s Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak won Song Of The Year (“Leave the Door Open”), The Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award (“Leave the Door Open”), and Video Of The Year (“Leave the Door Open”).

The duo also opened the show with a performance of “Fly As Me” off the recently released An Evening with Silk Sonic album. Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak later returned to the stage to run through their “Smokin Out The Window” single.

Jazmine Sullivan took home trophies for Album Of The Year (Heaux Tales) and Best R&B/Soul Female Artist. Giveon was named Best R&B/Soul Male Artist, and Best New Artist went to Yung Bleu. Normani was also on hand to accept Best Dance Performance (“Wild Side” featuring Cardi B).

The Soul Train Awards presented “Foolish” vocalist Ashanti with the “Lady of Soul” honor. Neo-soul star Maxwell picked up the “Legend” award at the ceremony inside Harlem’s iconic Apollo Theater. Ciara, Russell Wilson, and Marley Dias received the Souls of Justice Award in a video tribute. 

Other performers for the 2021 Soul Train Awards included Ashanti, Maxwell, Leon Bridges, Summer Walker, Ari Lennox, Lucky Daye, Fred Hammond, Marzz, and Elhae. Plus, the DJ D-Nice-hosted “Rock The Boat” Soul Cypher featured Tone Stith, Koryn Hawthorne, Jac Ross, Elle Varner, and Musiq Soulchild.

The 2021 Soul Train Music Awards also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Soul Train television show. Additionally, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and First Lady Chirlane McCray proclaimed Sunday, November 28, 2021, will be known as “Soul Train Music Awards Day” in the City of New York.

Bobby Shmurda: I Need Sex Therapy… I Need To Be Stopped

Before being released in February, Bobby Shmurda spent over six years in prison. Apparently, the Brooklyn-raised rapper has used his time as a free man to engage in a lot of sexual relations over the last eight months.

Bobby Shmurda (born Ackquille Pollard) took to Twitter to share his late-night thoughts. On early Monday morning, Shmurda posted a tweet about sex addiction.

“I need [sex] therapy #Baddd 🥺 I need to be stopped lol. [For real, for real] tho on the set,” tweeted Bobby Shmurda at 2:17 am ET.

Bobby Shmurda’s previous tweet on November 25 also referenced sex. He shared a gif of himself gyrating his hips with a caption that read, “Her voice just make you wanna.”

Last month, another social media post by Bobby Shmurda also gained a lot of attention. On October 18, the 27-year-old Roc Nation affiliate uploaded a music video clip that featured Shmurda once again delivering his signature dances.

“Those dance moves kinda sus Bobby,” wrote one Instagram commenter. Another person asked, “Ay bro why [you] move like that?” An additional IG user wondered, “[Why you] keep [shaking your] hips like that b?”

Every news story about Bobby Shmurda since his release from prison has not been about making love and air grinding. In June, the “Hot N####” hitmaker provided underprivileged families in Brooklyn with free meals and haircuts for Father’s Day.

Did Lil Baby Call Out Saweetie Using Him For Clout?

The drama continues. Many social media users spent the last few days sharing their thoughts on the Lil Baby and Saweetie dating rumors. A cryptic photo led to even more whispers about the two rappers.

Multiple Instagram blogs, such as The Shade Room, posted a picture of Saweetie sitting on an unknown person’s lap. Internet sleuths claimed Lil Baby was wearing the same outfit in another photo as Saweetie’s “mystery bae.”

That chapter in this story came after reports of Lil Baby spending six figures on Saweetie during a recent shopping spree. Baby essentially denied he was romantically involved with the self-described Icy Girl with a now-deleted November 25 tweet claiming he was single.

Once the “mystery bae” photo started circulating online, Lil Baby apparently felt the need to address the stories. The 26-year-old Atlanta native sent out two tweets that have since been deleted from his Twitter account.

“B###### really be weird!!” tweeted Lil Baby at 3:10 am ET on Monday. One minute later, the My Turn album creator added, “If you want clout use BABY.”

The rumored love affair between Lil Baby and Saweetie has another layer of intrigue because Saweetie used to date Baby’s Quality Control labelmate Quavo. The Migos member reacted on Instagram to the reports about his ex-girlfriend and his “Lose It” collaborator not long before Lil Baby shared his tweets about the subject.

There is a lot of speculation surrounding a rumored relationship involving Hip Hop stars Saweetie and Lil Baby. Saweetie’s ex-boyfriend, Quavo of the Migos, chimed in on the conversation.

Both Lil Baby and Quavo are signed to the Atlanta-based Quality Control Music record label. Many rap fans turned their attention to Quavo to see what he had to say about his labelmate allegedly dating his former partner.

“Ain’t trippin. We can swap it out! #QCTHELABEL 🤟🏾,” read a Monday morning post on Quavo’s Instagram Story. While he did not mention either person by name, it was clear the “Workin Me” rhymer was referring to Saweetie and Lil Baby.

Quavo & Saweetie Parted Ways In 2021

Quavo and Saweetie began dating in 2018. They went through a public break-up earlier this year which included the “Emotional” collaborators tweeting about the other following the split.

“I’m single. I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character. Presents don’t band aid scars and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women,” tweeted Saweetie in March.

Quavo responded on Twitter, “I know you want to make this into a show so I’ll play my part just this one time. I don’t normally put my business out there, especially my personal life. I feel the need to address this so there are no false narratives.”

Quavo & Saweetie Got Into A Fight On An Elevator

In addition, footage of a physical altercation involving Saweetie and Quavo in an elevator leaked online. However, the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office decided not to seek criminal indictments against either performer.

“We had an unfortunate situation almost a year ago that we both learned and moved on from. I haven’t physically abused Saweetie and have real gratitude for what we did share overall,” stated Quavo in April about the elevator incident.

Saweetie said, “This unfortunate incident happened a year ago, while we have reconciled since then and moved past this particular disagreement, there were simply too many other hurdles to overcome in our relationship and we have both since moved on.”

Kanye West Dedicates Sunday Service To Virgil Abloh

Kanye West has dedicated his Sunday Service this week to his friend Virgil Abloh who passed away yesterday (Nov. 28).  

The Sunday Service choir performed a cover of Adele’s “Easy On Me” in tribute to the fashion designer. Reworked lyrics included, “Go easy on me, father / I am still your child / And I need the chance to / Feel your love around” in the chorus.   The message, “In loving memory of Virgil Abloh, creative director of ‘Donda’” appeared on the screen. 

Shock waves were felt around the world at the passing of the renowned fashion designer who first came to prominence as Kanye’s creative director. Virgil Abloh most recently served as men’s artistic director of Louis Vuitton and made history as the first African-American to lead the French luxury brand. 

A statement from the visionary designer’s official Instagram account paid tribute to the, “fiercely devoted father, husband, son, brother, and friend.” 

“He is survived by his loving wife Shannon Abloh, his children Lowe Abloh and Grey Abloh, his sister Edwina Abloh, his parents Nee and Eunice Abloh, and numerous dear friends and colleagues.” 

The statement explained that while Virgil was making his ascent in the fashion industry, he was fighting a rare, aggressive form of cancer, cardiac angiosarcoma.  

“For over two years, Virgil valiantly battled a rare, aggressive form of cancer, cardiac angiosarcoma. He chose to endure his battle privately since his diagnosis in 2019, undergoing numerous challenging treatments, all while helming several significant institutions that span fashion, art, and culture.” 

The statement continued, “Through it all, his work ethic, infinite curiosity, and optimism never wavered. Virgil was driven by his dedication to his craft and to his mission to open doors for others and create pathways for greater equality in art and design. He often said, “Everything I do is for the 17-year-old version of myself,” believing deeply in the power of art to inspire future generations. “

Blac Chyna Urges Vaccines As Omicron Variant Spreads Globally

Last month, Blac Chyna made her opinions about vaccines well known – during a confrontation in an airport.

And now Blac Chyna is urging people to get vaccinated again with the rise of the Omicron variant, which is spreading around the globe, 

TMZ caught up with Blac Chyna at Los Angeles International Airport, where she discussed the Omicron variant, first detected in South Africa.

So far, the new strain has been found in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Germany, Israel, Hong Kong, Australia, Belgium, Botswana, Hong Kong, and the Czech Republic.

“I feel like a lot of times people think that things isn’t real because it doesn’t like touch them and their circle, you know, and it’s unfortunate because you don’t never want that to happen,” Blac Chyna said.

“I feel like a lot of people just scared of the vaccine cause they’re not sure. I feel like a lot of people just need to do their research and figure it out. Just take safety precautions,” Blac Chyna said.

In October, the reality star/rapper went on a pro-vaccine tirade at Miami international airport during a confrontation with an unidentified woman.

The woman asked to take a picture with Blac Chyna, but things got crazy when she inquired if the woman was vaccinated.

For some reason, this led to a rant from Blac Chyna, who told the woman and everyone in the terminal – to stop being stupid and get the jab AKA the covid-19 vaccine.

The Omicron mutation is so alarming that the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, and the European Union have banned travelers from several African countries.

Singling out the African countries sparked a wave of criticism from representatives of South Africa and Malawi.

“Covid measures must be based on science, not Afrophobia,” Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera said.

As for Blac Chyna, she said she was preparing to get her covid-19 booster shot.

  1. My name is illseed and I am the king of the rumors. I am personally responsible for numerous platform, sites and businesses that you love, because I provided the blueprint. So, I cannot remember too many times when the site got it WRONG. We are a trusted source of information, which is why the Lil Kim Verzuz Foxy Brown seemed like it was RIGHT. We only go by sources and this source was no on point.

We don’t want that. We want the Golden Era Rap Divas to go at it! If I am correct, it would be the first rap chick Verzuz battle. Kim’s camp hit us with the “cease and desist” talk!   4. I won’t be too specific, but I am hearing some other Foxy rumors. I am hearing Foxy is about to make a run back to the game. I will say this, it is not necessarily music related. I guess we will have to wait and see. By the way, I also heard that Foxy Brown was not too pleased with the show “Queens” which stars . On the show, Brandy raps: “I ruin careers, ask Foxy.” HUH? Everybody was up in arms over the line and cried foul about a fictional rapper dissing a real one. Personally, I thought it was something done intentionally to keep people engaged and talking. And they talked! Afterwards, the show “brass” revealed there is a CHARACTER on the show named FOXY. There are a BILLION names in the world and they pic the ONE name that is the same as a legend like Foxy Brown. OK.

The rap star has not been heard from for almost six months, which is impressive considering his track record of trolling rivals like Lil Durk, Meek Mill, and many others.
However, the rapper returns to the public spotlight during a swanky birthday party.
Jade posted some footage of Tekashi 6ix9ine celebrating his girlfriend’s birthday.
It appears as though the rap star spared no expense on his ride or die.

AE Begs Amber Rose For A Second Chance After Being Unfaithful Over A Dozen Times

Over the summer, Amber Rose appeared to be devastated after her boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards dumped her.

Amber put AE on blast to her 21 million-plus followers on Instagram.

Amber claimed AE, who is the father to their child Slash Electric, cheated on her with 12 different women.

At the time, AE, 33, had no problem admitting to his infidelity and laughed off the entire situation during various interviews.

But now, it seems as though the tables have turned on AE.

Over the weekend, he posted a desperate message to his Instagram account, begging for Amber’s forgiveness.

“I want to sincerely apologize to my beautiful wife @amberrose you didn’t deserve what I did to you. You are an amazing person and a wonderful mother to our boys,” AE said. “I’m sorry for the pain that I’ve caused you, my son slash, and my stepson Sebastian. AE Begs Amber Rose For Forgiveness

Unfortunately, Amber reconciling with AE may very well be out of the question at this point.

Shortly after he embarrassed her in public, Amber took to Instagram to explain she had been a faithful wife.

“I’ve been loyal and transparent, but I haven’t gotten same energy in return. I’ll never say the girls names because I’m not in the business of ruining lives,” Amber said as she took the high road.

“As for him…The lack of loyalty and disrespect is ridiculous, and I’m done,” Amber Rose said.

Amber has yet to reply, but it appears she’s going about her business with her family.

50 Cent’s trolling has no boundaries. This time, the rapper put pop star Madonna, in the crosshairs.

Earlier this week, Madonna blasted Instagram for removing her photoshoot. She claimed the platform took down her pictures for showing a small portion of her nipple.

Madonna republished the pictures on Thanksgiving (November 25th), but not everyone was thankful.

50 Cent caught wind of the series of snaps, which show Madonna sprawled out on a bed in sheer, see-through leggings. A variety of images showcase Madonna’s 63-year-old butt, which seemed to offend 50 Cent.

Rico Nasty Suicidal Tweets Over Playboi Carti Tour Spark Concern

Rico Nasty has fans concerned for her mental health over her tour with Playboi Carti.

In a pair of since-deleted tweets, the 24-year-old said she was “crying herself to sleep every night” on her tour bus.

“I did ass need at least two hours out of each day. To just cry,” Rico Nasty tweeted to her 800,000 followers on Saturday (November 27th.)

“Crazy how I wanted a tour bus my whole life, and now I just want to be on the tour bus crying myself to sleep every night,” Rico Nasty said in another tweet.

But the following message was even darker when Rico Nasty wrote: “I wish I was dead just as much as y’all do trust me, y’all win.”

The messages appear to respond to her struggles opening up for Playboi Carti on the King Vamp Tour.

Over the last few weeks, videos have hit the internet showing Playboi Carti fans booing Rico Nasty during her opening set.

The rapper tried to ease the tension during the November 19th stop in Colorado, where he brought out Rico Nasty, and they shared the stage.

Unfortunately, the subsequent dates have been nothing but toxic for Rico Nasty. Things hit a low for Rico Nasty after a fan threw a glass bottle at her while she was performing.

Rico Nasty, who was extremely upset, attempted to jump into the crowd to fight the offender.

Playboi Carti’s fans also trolled her during his show at the forum and Los Angeles, prompting her to label his fans “weak ass little boys.”

Playboi Carti’s “King Vamp Tour” runs until December 23rd, when the outing winds down in Atlanta.

“Off White” Designer Virgil Abloh Dies; Louis Vuitton Issues Statement

Famed fashion designer Virgil Abloh has died from cancer. He was 41.

Abloh was a designer, entrepreneur, and DJ who served as the artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection. He was internationally known and closely affiliated with Kanye West.

LVMH, the French holding company that owns Louis Vuitton, revealed that Abloh died on Sunday after struggling with the disease for several years.

LVMH’s Bernard Arnault issued a statement:

“We are all shocked after this terrible news. Virgil was not only a genius designer, a visionary; he was also a man with a beautiful soul and great wisdom. The LVMH family joins me in this moment of great sorrow, and we are all thinking of his loved ones after the passing of their husband, their father, their brother or their friend.”

Abloh was an accomplished man with few peers. He founded the fashion label Off-White in 2012 after he and Kanye West served together in an internship at Fendi. In 2018, he was named as one of Time magazine’s most influential people. He crafted album covers for The Throne (Jay-Z and Kanye’s 2011 classic album) as well as the controversial artwork for Pop Smoke’s Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon. He even loved to DJ. He held a residency in La Vegas in 2019 as well as launching an internet radio station just this year.

In 2019, Abloh was diagnosed with cardiac angiosarcoma, a rare form of cancer.

Abloh leaves behind a wife, Shannon Sundberg, as well as their two children.

Nas Helps Raise $55 Million For New Platform Set To Shake Up The Music Business

Rap star Nas believes NFTs are the future of the music business, so he is backing a new platform attempting to revolutionize the industry.

The rap star was among the celebrities who helped raise $55 million for a new company called Royal.

Other investors include Logic, The Chainsmokers, Stefflon Don, Joyner Lucas, heavyweight investment firms a16Z, CAA, Coinbase Ventures, and others.

The $55 million raise follows the initial seed round of $16 million Royal raised in August.

The Royal platform allows anyone to purchase the right to earn royalties from their favorite songs, while artists raise money from their fans through sales of NFTs.

CEO Justin “3LAU” Blau co-founded the company.

3LAU, who has produced for artists like Rihanna, Ariana Grande, and others, said he proved the concept of the platform last month when he gave away 333 limited NFTs representing 50% of streaming ownership in his new song “Worst Case.”

Royal believes connecting fans directly with their artists will create a deeper connection – and a financial incentive to stream music.

It appears as though Kanye West’s attempt to win back his wife Kim Kardashian is not working.

Over the weekend, the rap star posted a rambling “Thanksgiving Prayer” on Instagram in an attempt to put his family back together.

Kanye posted the five-minute prayer featuring his Sunday Service choir, along with an apology to Kim.

During his Thanksgiving prayer, Kanye West admitted that he drank too much, did not always take his medicine, and admitted his ego and his temper drove a wedge between him and Kim Kardashian.

Unfortunately for Kanye, it appears as though Kim is moving on with her life with her new boyfriend, “SNL” star Pete Davidson.

The couple was spotted canoodling together early Saturday morning in Beverly Hills.

Kim and Pete were photographed eating an early morning breakfast at the swanky Beverly Hills Hotel, merely hours after Kanye’s prayer.

According to People, Kim and Pete seemed to be in great spirits. When a Dutch photographer asked for pictures, both of them happily agreed and took selfies with the shutterbug.

“They looked happy and sat close to each other,” said the photographer, who was identified as Dutch music journalist Paul Barewijk. “It looked like a date to me.”

Last week, the paparazzi took photos of the new lovebirds as they enjoyed a dinner at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica.

One of the flicks featured a hickey on Pete Davidson’s neck.

Slain Comedian Dmuney’s Sister Denies Young Dolph Diss

The sister of a Memphis, Tennessee comedian who was killed after a week after the murder of Young Dolph denied her brother was mocking the late rapper’s death.

Dmuney, born Derrion Childs, was shot and killed on November 23rd, shortly after he made what many felt was a disparaging comment about Young Dolph’s demise.

Young Dolph was shot and killed on November 17th, inside a local bakery shop called Makeda’s Homemade Cookies.

Two gunmen approached the rapper and opened fire, killing him instantly. The pair fled in a stolen Mercedes-Benz.

Shortly after Young Dolph’s assassination, Dmuney posted:

“MANEEEE THEM FOLKS JUST KILLED YOUNG DOLPH I LOVE MEMPHIS CUH WE SO GANGSTA,” Dmuney posted, along with several laughing emojis.

Tragically, Dmuney, 21, was gunned down at a Valero gas station in the Frayser section of Memphis around 10:30 PM last Tuesday.

His sister has denied the shocking comments were made to make fun of Young Dolph’s death.

“He was like, I’m not joking about Dolph’s death. He said, ‘I’m just saying that Memphis is basically the next Chicago because anybody can get killed in Memphis,'” his sister Shameccia Mason said.

According to Mason, Dmuney was simply trying to comment about the violence plaguing the city of Memphis.

“He was like it’s crazy how Young Dolph actually went to a cookie place in his own neighborhood and got killed in his own neighborhood. He was like, that’s what he meant. He wasn’t making a joke about death.”

So far, no one has been arrested for the murder of Young Dolph, and Dmuney’s killers remain with the loose as well.

The police are investigating to see if the shootings are connected.

Acknowledging what he did was wrong, Bronny said, “When obscene gestures and language come into it, can’t be tolerated.”

“There’s a difference between cheering for your team and not wanting the other team to win,” he continued. “And things I would never say to a fan and they shouldn’t say to me.” It’s all about good sportsmanship.

Good Sportsmanship has been a concern as of late for Team King James.

A week ago, the baller was suspended after elbowing Detroit center Isaiah Stewart, and almost instigating a fight. James argued that the incident was “accidental.”

He said, “His elbow got kinda high, got me off balance a little bit. His elbow lifted my arm. I basically tried to swim move down on his arm. When I went down on his arm, he got off balance, and the left side of my hand grazed his face … definitely accidental.”

While he didn’t agree with the suspension, he did understand why he was being ejected from the game. “I thought it warranted an ejection because of what happened after that, but a suspension, I didn’t think it was warranted. But, the league made that call,” he shared.
