Summer Madness Coming… Is Wyclef Good Enough To Be On The Biggest Stage In Battle Rap???

Rapper Wyclef Jean is a Hip-Hop genius.

As the musical engineer behind the mega trio The Fugees and so many other artists at the top of the charts and a man of such character and heart that he almost became the President of Haiti, you almost can’t predict what he might hop into next.

So … do you think AllHipHop.com was shocked to see him PG-stepping in a Jersey parking lot, 50+ spitting a freestyle in front of Freeway? Hell, Nah.

Quiet as it is kept, Clef has been in these streets freestyling for a minute. He actually started off as a battle rapper.

Clef is locked into what’s popping in today’s music and in modern-day battle rap culture and has supported leagues by tuning in on Caffeine TV, PPV and YouTube.

As one of the forces curating the commercial career for battle rap’s Mt. Rushmore candidate, Arsonal da Rebel, he is fully up to speed on punchlines, schemes, and how to make lyrics matter in a competitive way.

Check out this video captured by the HipHopisReal team, where he lets Freeway get a little taste.

But is he ready for URL?

This is not the first time that we’ve seen Clef in these streets trying to catch wreck. In a tuxedo, the “Gone ‘Til November” artist kinda killed the young boy that stepped up asking for the fever.

He done spit hot fire in front of NuNu Nellz, one of the most powerful businesswomen in battle rap, now he just has to get talk to her big brother Smack. Summer Madness could use one more big name to add to the star power of the night. Adding one of the top-selling rappers in the world to the list would just be even more sickening.

Or … he could just put up $100,000 like Drake for the next Ultimate Madness and do a concert at the finals.

Either way, if something comes out of this, we want our cut.

Wale Declares Himself As One Of The Greatest Rappers Of All Time… Again

Over the last twelve years, Wale secured his place in the conversation about the most successful rappers of his generation. Numerous Platinum plaques and Top 10 projects back up his positioning as a leading name in contemporary Hip Hop culture.

Wale took it a step further on Twitter by declaring he should be talked about as one of the greatest Hip Hop artists of all time. Seemingly, the DMV-bred emcee rates himself alongside G.O.A.T. contenders like LL Cool J, Rakim, Jay-Z, Nas, Eminem, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and others.

“When I say I’m one of the greatest rappers of all time, I mean it with all my heart. I’ve put out more QUALITY music than most. My deep cuts are crazy. My singles all got plaques. Decade plus. THAT is why I’m heavy on the gratitude. 🌹,” tweeted Wale on Wednesday.

One Twitter user told Wale, “Let the fans call you the greatest, not yourself, let your work speak for it.” The Wow… That’s Crazy album creator responded, “They do. I’m just doubling down.” He also made the same proclamation of greatness in a 2019 tweet.

The Shade Room uploaded Wale’s recent tweet on Instagram which garnered some naysayers to push back on the 36-year-old performer’s view about himself. Wale jumped in the comment section to post, “I mean it… Also ‘Angles’ [featuring Chris Brown is] top ten at Rythmic and 14 at Urban in 6 weeks. New joint ‘Down South’ out now. 🤝.”

Wale then went back to Twitter to react to his actions on Instagram. He tweeted, “Chose violence today in the Shade Room comments 😍.” The longtime Maybach Music Group affiliate added a gif of Robert Downey Jr. from Iron Man where Tony Stark is standing in front of a bomb testing going off in the background.

In 2009, Wale released his debut album, Attention Deficit. He went on to drop 2011’s Ambition, 2013’s The Gifted, 2015’s The Album About Nothing, 2017’s Shine, and 2019’s Wow… That’s Crazy. Wale also gained critical praise for mixtapes such as 2018’s The Mixtape About Nothing and 2012’s Folarin.

Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak Push Back Silk Sonic Album To 2022

The R&B partnership of Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak, collectively known as Silk Sonic, scored a huge hit this year with “Leave the Door Open.” Their debut single peaked at #1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart in April.

Many fans of Silk Sonic expected a full-length album would arrive by the end of 2021. However, the highly-anticipated studio LP will not be released until January 2022 at the earliest.

“We’re really in touch-up mode now,” said Bruno Mars in a recent cover story interview with Rolling Stone magazine. “We’ve got the bones of most of the album, so it’s really about touching up parts that need a little more… grease.”

Anderson .Paak added, “Which could mean redoing the song from scratch!” According to Pitchfork, a representative for the group confirmed the project’s release date was pushed back to 2022.

Apparently, Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak plan to drop more songs before An Evening With Silk Sonic lands on DSPs next year. The chart-topping “Leave the Door Open” was followed by “Skate” at the end of July.

“Skate” opened at #14 on the Hot 100 rankings before dropping down to #35 in its second week. The track’s official music video has amassed more than 35 million views on YouTube since its premiere on July 30.

Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak announced the creation of Silk Sonic back in February. Parliament-Funkadelic’s Bootsy Collins is listed as a “special guest host” for the An Evening With Silk Sonic album.

Jessie Woo Responds to Backlash Over Tasteless Whitney Houston Joke

Singer and comedian Jessie Woo is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The ‘Wild N’ Out’ cast member has landed herself in hot water after making a joke about Whitney Houston.

The Haitian-American singer recently joined the cast of the hit series, now in its 16th season. In an improvisational segment entitled ‘Outgoing Message’ teams have to imitate what they imagine celebrities’ voicemail messages would sound like.

When it came to Jessie’s turn, she was asked to impersonate the late Whitney Houston. She begins with a rendition of “I Will Always Love You,” singing, “You have reached my line, but unfortunately, I do not have the time.” All good so far, right? The audience receives it well and applauds. However, the performance then takes a left turn as the singer continues her version of the song singing, “And I…. I’m dead.” She then walks off stage!

The audience and cast members are left stunned with host and creator, Nick Cannon saying, “Y’all all going to hell.”

The star is now on the receiving end of some heavy internet backlash and has responded on social media.

In a video, reposted by The Shade Room she says, “The show is called ‘Wild N’ Out. When you watch the show over the years, the men on the show get to come on the show and say the wildest things – the most disrespectful things and it’s still considered comedy.”

She tries to explain herself further saying, “I’ve always liked that because I’m somebody who… I love… I f–king love dark humor.”

The comment section was a mix of people both supporting and admonishing the singer. However, fellow comedian Majah hype took objection to the star making it a battle of the sexes saying, “it’s the tryna drag men into the insensitive jokes for me cause dudes get dragged all day for jokes like this all the time”

Jessie posted a clip of the joke, including the offending line, to her IG page with the caption “And I ….. I’ve got nothing but love for my idol.” The star is currently working with several organizations assisting relief efforts in Haiti following the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that struck the Caribbean island on Saturday.

Lil Nas X To Perform At The 2021 MTV Video Music Awards

Chart-topping rapper Lil Nas X will hit the stage at another live industry ceremony next month. The 22-year-old entertainer was announced as one of the performers for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

Lil Nas X made headlines and caused controversy following the BET Awards in June. That performance included the “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” rhymer kissing one of his male backup dancers which triggered some viewers.

The Source magazine co-founder Benzino was one of the most outspoken critics of Lil Nas X’s set at the BET Awards. He wrote, at the time, “That s### BET pulled yesterday was lame [as f###]. It was too uncomfortable, too irresponsible, too forced, and too irrelevant to the awards. Homie ain’t even hot like that for music anymore anyway.”

Lil Nas X was also a target of T.I. and Boosie Badazz. Both rappers took issue with LNX being allowed to express his sexual attraction to men on television while DaBaby faced backlash for homophobic comments he made at the Rolling Loud Miami festival.

This will not be the first time Lil Nas X will be part of a VMAs lineup. The Georgia native ran through the 7 EP track “Panini” at the 2019 Video Music Awards. His “Old Town Road (Remix)” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus won Song of the Year and Best Direction in 2019.

The 2021 edition of the MTV Video Music Awards is scheduled to air on Sunday, September 12 at 8 pm ET. Machine Gun Kelly, Lorde, Camila Cabello, and Olivia Rodrigo will also perform at the show. Other artists will be revealed at a later date.

Pop superstar Justin Bieber leads this year’s list of nominees (7). Hip Hop standout Megan Thee Stallion earned the second-most nominations (6). Lil Nas X is among several acts, including Drake and Doja Cat, to pick up five VMA nods.

“Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” is competing for Video Of The Year, Video For Good, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, and Best Visuals Effects. The other VOTY nominees are Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP,” DJ Khaled & Drake’s “Popstar,” Doja Cat & SZA’s “Kiss Me More,” Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits,” and The Weeknd’s Save Your Tears.”

Cardi B Prays For Lizzo and Normani to Perform at VMAs

In a display of sisterhood, Cardi B has put out a plea into the Universe on behalf of fellow songstresses, Lizzo and Normani.

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper took to Twitter yesterday to make a plea for the women to perform at the VMAs.

“I hope my girls Lizzo & Normani are performing at the VMAs,” she tweeted, accompanied by two ‘fingers crossed’ emojis followed by, “please , please , please.” She also added a ‘praying hands’ emoji for extra emphasis!

Lizzo responded simply with a hilarious gif.

This prompted the fans to respond with gifs of their own!

Other fans suspected Cardi has inside information on exactly who is performing at the VMAs.

The 2021 MTV Video Music Awards take place on September 12 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Cardi’s tweet appears to have been prompted by last night’s announcement of this year’s VMA nominees. Among the stars performing in front of the live audience are Lorde, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, Camila Cabello, and Machine Gun Kelly. MTV says more performers will be announced in the coming weeks. So, it looks like there’s still hope for Cardi’s dreams to come true!

Cardi has recently worked with both Lizzo and Normani.  Her song with Lizzo ‘Rumors’ was released last week and Cardi came forward to defend the singer who broke down after being bullied by internet trolls.

Cardi also features on Normani’s ‘Wild Side’, single, released last month. The incredibly sexy video for the song broke the internet, something Normani is no stranger to!

Petition Started To Keep King Von Mural On O’Block

Dayvon “King Von” Bennett was killed on November 6 in Atlanta, Georgia. The Mural Movement immortalized Lil Durk’s protégé with a portrait located in Parkway Gardens which is also known as O’Block.

According to reports, the Chicago police department wants the artwork by Chris Devins removed. The authorities are said to be concerned about King Von being associated with the Black Disciples street gang.

Kelly Pujue, a fan of King Von, launched a Change.org petition in order to pressure Chicago mayor Lori E. Lightfoot to make sure the painting stays up. As of press time, more than 3,600 people have signed the petition.

A description on Change.org reads:

I am writing this petition in reference to the mural that was painted of beloved drill artist KING VON who passed away Nov. 6th 2020. The mural is by Chris Devins organized by The Mural Movement and is facing parkway gardens which is also known as O’block. Rumor has it the police don’t like it and want it removed immediately. They say that it is going to promote violence and cause people from other gangs to deface it to cause conflict in that spot. The police are pressuring the store owner to remove it, although the store owner agreed to have it.
This is where king vons friends and family are from and this is where it belongs!

Delilah Martinez’s Mural Movement reportedly had a meeting about the art piece with King Von’s management and Chicago Alderman Jeanette Taylor of the 20th Ward.

The local community can play of role in deciding whether the King Von mural will remain on the wall of the Parkway Foods grocery store.

Residents in the 20th Ward area can cast a vote by texting 312-981-9901. All respondents must text proof of address to participate in the voting process.

Watch Wu-Tang Clan Perform with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra

Wu-Tang Clan made an epic return to the stage at the weekend. The legendary group put on a stunning show at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre backed by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra.

Despite not performing in concert for over a year, the group rocked the crowd with a setlist of over 30 songs. Fans in attendance were fortunate enough to see some of the group’s biggest hits backed by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra.

The group performed classic hits like ‘Protect Ya Neck’ and C.R.E.A.M accompanied by the orchestra. Fans also got to hear their rendition of the Beatles classic ‘Come Together’, something the collective has not done since 2019!

The set also included some of the individual members’ solo hits, treating the audience to a rendition of the late-great Ol’ Dirty Bastard‘s ‘Shimmy Shimmy Ya’. ODB’s son, Young Dirty Bastard was there representing his father and performed with the group for this one.

The show was opened by Outkasts’ Big Boi, who delivered some of the group’s most loved songs including ‘B.O.B.’ and ‘Ms. Jackson’.

Last week Method Man made his TICAL cannabis brand exclusively available at Simply Pure and WolfPac Cannabis dispensaries in Denver. The dispensaries are both owned by people of color, in line with the brand’s socially conscious message.

Fans of the iconic groups have been eagerly awaiting the second series of their biography. The trailer for season two dropped last week. The second series begins on Hulu on September 8. In contrast to season one, which centered on the group’s formation, this second installment focuses on the creation of their classic debut album, ‘Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).’

Amber Rose Splits with Boyfriend, AE, Claims He Cheated With 12 Women

Model Amber Rose has broken up with her boyfriend, Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards. In a very public fashion!

Amber aired out the father of her child from her Instagram account yesterday. The couple have been together since September 2018 but now, she’s had enough! She claims that he has cheated on her with at least 12 different women! Amber didn’t name any of the women, in fact, she didn’t even mention her baby daddy by name, but it was clear who she was referring to.

“I’m tired of getting cheated on and being embarrassed behind the scenes,” she wrote in her IG stories yesterday. “All 12 of y’all bums (the ones that I know of there’s probably more) can have him. Y’all very much knew he was in a relationship with a baby and y’all decided to f*ck him anyway I saw all the texts and DM’S.”

She says she is the only one in the relationship fighting for its success and continues, “I’ve been loyal and transparent but I haven’t gotten same energy in return. I’ll never say the girls names because I’m not in the business of ruining lives.”

It sounds like the model has the receipts to prove it too, saying, “I saw all the texts and DM’s. Y’all were well aware but y’all don’t owe me any loyalty so it’s whatever.”

Leaving no doubt that she is done with the AE who is vice president of A&R at Def Jam Records, she says “As for him… The lack of loyalty and the disrespect is ridiculous and I’m done.”

AE hasn’t responded publicly. His IG stories show videos of him playing with their young son, Slash Electric.

Why Is Lil Durk In The Studio With A Money Phone-Booth?

Money Phone GIFs | Tenor

Lil Durk is one of the most interesting young rappers that I have ever seen. He has survived so much trauma that most people can’t believe he is still here. But, here he still is! And I can appreciate that! There are certain things about him that I’m not cool with, but that’s the lifestyle that he and his Chicago Homies have come to embrace. Now, I know that he has stated publicly that he will no longer deface the names of the dead, but he still stunting on the living!

And honestly, I am not mad at him! A recent post he made on Instagram gave me the feels. He was in his element bussin down some raps and having fun with his money. New rappers like putting the money to the head and showing it off that way, but I’m not really sure why Durk is doing that in the studio. Like what are you going to do with the money in the studio? Is there a stripper somewhere? Is there like a vending machine that takes $100 bills? Is there a weed man nearby that only accepts bulk buys of that sticky icky icky? Maybe there is a Bugatti dealer that pulls up with a car that you can pay cash for! I don’t know! Nevertheless, he has in his hand more money than I have ever made in my life! No disrespect to my bosses at AllHipHop, but damn can I get a raise?!

There is this conversation around the rhyme that he’s kicking kicking kicking! Listen to it and let me know what you think about it! I happen to think it’s good! Some people have said it’s the same old same old!

‘R. Kelly Gave Me Herpes!’ R&B Singer’s Sex Trial Starts Off With A Shameful Bang

R. Kelly’s trial has started, and the prosecutor is holding no punches. She called the disgraced R&B singer, a “predator,” and put up a witness that said he gave her an incurable disease.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Maria Cruz Melendez said in her opening statement that the self-proclaimed “Pied Piper of Music” used “lies, manipulation, threats, and physical abuse” to control the women and underaged girls that he abused, and terrorized them by filming sexual encounters he had with them.

As a Brooklyn jury of seven men and five women listened to the testimony, the former chart topper’s defense team tried to reframe the narrative and portrait of their client. One way that they attempted to do this was by pointing out “gaps” in the state’s argument. The defense also blamed the victims, alleging that the case is an act of revenge from scorned ex-lovers.

2015 Soul Train Music Awards Show at The Orleans Arena Featuring: R. Kelly Where: Las Vegas, Nevada, United States When: 06 Nov 2015 Credit: Judy Eddy/WENN.com

Cruz Melendez disagrees — vehemently.

“This case is about a predator,” Cruz Melendez said. “This case is not about a celebrity who likes to party a lot.”

Six women will be spotlighted in the case. Two women were mentioned in the indictment were teenagers (15 & 16) during the alleged relationships. One was his former protégé and wife, Aaliyah Haughton.

As reported by AllHipHop.com, Aaliyah was 15 when she married R. Kelly, whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly. Kelly paid people to falsify documents that raised her age to 18 in an effort to get married three months after her smash debut album, Age Ain’t Nothing But A Number.

The marriage supports the prosecution’s belief that he used an entourage of managers, bodyguards, friends, and family members to recruit and seek out the victims. He used the same network to blackmail them should they decide to leave.

Jerhonda Pace, who was 16 when she first started having sex with R. Kelly, said that he made her call him “Daddy” and at times he would choke her until she passed out. She also said that she also had to ask before she went to the bathroom.

She also said, “He told me he was going to train me to please him sexually” and that he wanted her to pretend to be 19 when they were around people. She also testified that he gave her herpes.

Pace will continue her testimony on Thursday, August 19.

Wack 100 On Meeting With Farrakhan: “F##k Out of Here … I Eat Pork”

Wait a minute … Did Wack 100 say he didn’t give a f### about Farrakhan?

In the continuous soap opera surrounding Tekashi 69, Meek Mill, Jim Jones, 21 Savage, and just about any rapper that dares to speak on the rainbow-haired rapper’s reputation as a snitch, Wack 100 may have disrespected one of the most respected African American leaders in the world: The Honorable Louis Farrakhan.

On Clubhouse recently, Wack 100 hopped on the conversation-based app and dissed Meek Mill.

As Tekashi and his supporters amped him up about the beef, he got a little excited when talking about the leader of the Nation of Islam, using an expletive when speaking about a proposed peace talk between the Philly rapper and the West Coast OG that would be mediated by Farrakhan.

Tuesday night, while 6ix9ine was dissing Meek Mill for going to jail for popping a wheeling, the conversation shifted to meeting with the spiritual advisor.

“Y’all don’t see what the n#### do? For the last five days, the n#### put up a post that said that Wack is misleading the youth,” Wack said Meek wrote. “He needs the young homies for protection.”

“First of all,” Wack said, “Me and you, n####,” he corrected. “I ain’t said the ‘Pirus and you.’ I ain’t say the ‘West Coast and you.’ I said ‘Me and you.”

“Then you reach and say, ‘Farrakhan, can you arrange a sit down. N#### f### all that! I eat pork,” defiantly he said. “Ain’t no Farrakhan (unrecognized). F### out of here, n####.”

“They called me!” he revealed. “Farrakhan’s son called me. He been having all the Muslims call me for like four days. On my momma! But that’s out.”

Someone asked Wack if he answered the NOI calls.

He said, “Hell, yeah I answered their calls.”

This is a turn around because a few days ago, he seemed to be open to it.

For decades, The Honorable Minister Farrakhan has interceded on behalf of the Hip-Hop community, squashing beef and facilitating truces.

He also has credited features on Busta Rhymes’ and Smif and Wessun latest album.

He even spoke at Nipsey Hussle’s funeral.

The preacher’s gangsta is solidified because he represents a strong love that many have never seen.

Wack’s language was disrespectful indeed, despite no comments being offered from the Nation of Islam, rest assure they heard about this.

Is Tekashi 6ix9ine Doing A Song With King Von’s Accused Killer Lul Timm?

6ix9ine is not going away without being regarded as the greatest supervillain to ever emerge in Hip-Hop culture. And when I say villain I mean the biggest rat. No, that’s not a slight to him, because he embraces the title. He has successfully managed to get an ear from people. But what has really emerged as a weird and interesting dynamic is his relationship to official gangbanging entities in Hip-Hop. Now if there’s a person that’s not an official gang banger it is not for me to say, because I don’t know the difference in most instances. So, If you have an objection please feel free to leave that in the comment section below.

However, I am looking at the landscape and it seems like Tekashi 69 and Wack 100 are relatively close. I doubt they will be spending Thanksgiving together, but Wack 100 recently revealed that 69 may be working with the alleged killer of King Von. I find that to be crazy! Lul Timm, born Timothy Leeks, has not been convicted of anything, but he allegedly murdered King Von after they got into a physical altercation in Atlanta. We all know the story and don’t necessarily want to relive it but it is a pretty wild in the word of of rumor-dom. Could it be all of façade? Maybe! But, it seems like both of these guys have emerged as scorned even hated individuals. And they have embraced that. So, while Timmy is not a snitch, he ain’t loved as someone who killed one of the brightest stars in Rap. That said, a song between them would be pretty crazy because it’s just crazy!

Check this out:

So, how did this happen? Well, there’s a single prevailing theory: Wack 100 or Big U. Big U, you may remember, met with Timm and gave him some “protection.” He may not have actually gave him protection, but it certainly was SEEN as protection. I don’t think people are going to risk it. So, hands-off Lul Timm! As far as, Wack, he been kickin’ it with 69 so that’s easy. I don’t know, but it will be interesting.

Bodayga Drizz Returns with Birthday Anthem “It’s Ya Birthday”

Born Juanito Ortiz of New Haven, Connecticut, he would move from simply being in the streets to making music for the streets under the alias Bodayga Drizz. His stage name combines his childhood nickname Drizze and Bodayga which he was called due to being a hustler able to sell anything for a profit. That hustler mentality has transitioned into his music career, granting him the versatility to create hits whether being hood-inspired, positive raps, party vibes, or for the females.

With his East Coast trap style being influenced by artists like Jay-Z, Nas, Tupac, Biggie, The Lox, J Cole, Lil Wayne, and Big Pun among others, Bodayga Drizz has built up a loyal following. His songs would be heard in his hometown and state on radio stations like 94.3 and hot 93.7, but Bodayga Drizz would take a step back from the music scene. After a hiatus for a few years, he has made a triumphant return with his new single “It’s Ya Birthday.”

The track came about as a song created to celebrate his birthday and the many others turning up for another year of life. “It’s Ya Birthday” has an afro type of vibe with Bodayga Drizz flowing over the beat like butter delivering catchy melodies and dope lyrics. It’s like a trance that takes control over the listener, steering their body to move with the rhythm.

Bodayga Drizz has come from the streets, enduring prison time, to return with a banger and birthday sensation. Fans have waited eagerly for this moment and have thus far only expressed compliments for the new single. Join in the celebration and stream “It’s Ya Birthday.”

Luckily, God had other plans and used his cousin Tiffany to invite the adolescent Tyrone to church. That was the beginning of his new life. He would give his life to God and soon after adopted the stage name Yboss (Young Better Off Staying Saved) to pursue his passion for music, but with maturity, he changed his artist name to Tyrone Crawford.

Members Of Jimmy Wopo’s Gang Sent To Prison For A Long Time

Members of Jimmy Wopo’s gang are heading to prison for a long time after being accused of trying to kill rival gang members and selling drugs in Pittsburgh.

A U.S. District Judge has convicted and sentenced two members of Jimmy Wopo’s gang for committing a laundry list of crimes as a part of a federal RICO case that started in 2018.

Wopo, the rapper who was murdered three years ago, was said to have been the leader of the 11 Hunnit street gang and has been extremely influenced because of his rap career.

But despite his demise, his gang seems to have continued to break laws and terrorize, and now some will be sent away for a very long time.

Dionte Griffin and Richard Kelly, members of the Pittsburg crew were sentenced this week after pleading guilty to their charges.

The charges included racketeering that included murder, weapons/ firearms, robbery, and drug dealing.

The 26-year-old Kelly received 78 months (approximately 6.5 years) on Monday and Griffin, who is only one year younger, received a more hefty lockdown on Tuesday.

Griffin will go away for 117 months (a little under 10 years). The sentencing judge was the Honorable Cathy Bisson.According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Judge Bisson shared with the court that she had to “think long and hard” about Griffin’s sentence.

She wanted to actually give him 24 years for what she said was “breathtakingly bad” behavior. She decided not to because she believes that this will give him time to reform himself.

She said directly to Griffin, “I hope you can appreciate what a waste of time gang life has been.”

It seems that Griffin has. He told the courts that he has already started to change, claiming that he has matured in the four years since his arrest back in 2018.

He said, “I was a 21-year-old boy, now I’m a 25-year-old man.”

One proposed way to get him on the right track is for him to join a carpentry program. With this sentencing, Griffin will be in his mid-30s when he is released.

Sydney Pack, another gang member, was supposed to be sentenced along with Griffin but his date was to October. He, too, pleaded guilty. Fans wonder if had he lived, Jimmy Wopo would have been going down too.
