NLE Choppa’s Mother Says Rapper Has Been Found Safe & Sound

NLE Choppa’s mother, Angeleta Potts, has revealed the rapper has been found. On Friday (October 20), Potts shared an Instagram update on her son, just hours after she claimed he’d been missing.

“Thank you for the PRAYERS and SUPPORT,” she wrote. “Choppa’s ok he just needed a minute, but didn’t communicate it to his love ones. I never intended to scare anyone with my post nor did I expect for people to think he is missing But the frustrations of being the mother of a celebrity can be a bit much and overwhelming at times.”

As previously reported, Potts rang the alarm on social media, claiming the 20-year-old artist was missing and she needed support to help find him.

“Y’all help me pray over my child. He plans on moving back to Cottonwood where we worked hard to get out of just for a mixtape SMH. I ain’t talk to this boy in hours and he usually doesn’t do this,” she wrote on Instagram. “One thing I know about my son is that he doesn’t go ghost for any reason. Whatever you working on I pray God is guiding you. If y’all hear from him PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP!”

Jim Jones Flies High With “ByrdGang 2.0” Project Boasting Lots Of New Talent

Jim Jones is a Harlem legend, not just because he’s part of the Diplomats collective—he’s earned the title Capo for how he moves and the boss plays he has spearheaded over the last two decades. Now, as the top dog over at Vamp Life/ MNRK URBAN, he is introducing a new generation of spitters.

The “Ballin’” recording artist has used his notoriety to support a group of new artists on his latest project, Jim Jones & ByrdGang 2.0, released on all streaming platforms on Friday (October 20).

AllHipHop.com was able to link up with Jim Jones, Freekey Zekey, and a few of the new members of ByrdGang at a private listening party earlier this month. The energy was high, but more than that, the lyricism was top-tier. Capo has pulled artists from all over the country to give them a chance to do their thing on a major level.

When asked when he decided to be a boss, Jones replied, “Right now, I am doing my job as a boss and creating as many opportunities as possible and the fairest chances for my artists to obtain success. If I do that, I feel like I gave them a fair shot to make it in the big leagues.”

Jordan Poole Has Crowned Rap’s Next Superstar—Guess Who?

Veeze is to Jordan Poole what DaBaby was to the rap game during his 2019 run bolstered by “ROCKSTAR” with Roddy Ricch—so basically he’s the next big superstar.

Or so he says, as evidence of their recent link up in the NBA champion’s new home of Washington D.C. It appears as though their link-up was initiated by Veeze’s fanbase, who’ve consistently compared the avid NBA fan to the former Golden State Warriors guard recently—asserting the pair are actually forbidden twins. “Y’all made this happen,” he wrote in the caption of a photo he tweeted of he and Poole together.

A separate video of their interaction was shared on social media and aside from the height difference, there are definitely similarities between Poole and Veeze’s likeness. No matter the case, Poole took a moment to acknowledge what makes them unique, affirming that the Detroit lyricist is occupying the top spot as we speak rather than so to speak. “Superstar, next up—if not here, he is already here,” Poole said.

Poole may have a point though, considering Veeze has embarked on The Ganger Tour after landing a new deal with Warner Records. Additionally, the subsequent formation of his Navy Wavy label adds yet another layer of potential greatness to the mysterious shroud that represents Veeze’s ever-developing career trajectory.

DJ Envy Attorney Denies iHeart Radio Offices Were Raided By Feds

An attorney for DJ Envy, Massimo D’Angelo, is denying reports federal investigators raided the iHeart Media offices in connection to Cesar Pina’s wire fraud arrest. According to TMZ Hip-Hop, D’Angelo said the reports are yet another example of the “continued sensationalization” in the press to attach The Breakfast Club co-host to the situation. Instead, D’Angelo believes DJ Envy is one of the victims—not a perpetrator. Law enforcement sources and a source close to iHeart corroborated D’Angelo’s claim. They say no offices were raided and no equipment was removed from the building.

Federal agents arrested DJ Envy’s former business partner earlier this week for allegedly orchestrating a multimillion-dollar scheme to defraud dozens of investors. DJ Envy promoted Pina on his iHeartRadio show, and they also collaborated on real estate seminars.

NBC New York reported the feds visited the iHeartRadio offices and removed electronic equipment as part of the investigation. DJ Envy has maintained his innocence throughout the whole ordeal and attempted to distance himself from Pina during a recent segment of The Breakfast Club.

“Now, Cesar? If he took money, I wasn’t privy to it nor did I even know,” DJ Envy said on the October 11 episode of his morning radio program. “But, I do understand how people feel if they did give him money, because I gave him a lot of money that I didn’t see a dollar of returned. But for anybody to say I was involved, that is totally not true. I would never. I’ve been on radio close to 30 years and never in my 30 years’ time did I do nothing but try to uplift people and show people a different way through the business mind. And I would never take a dollar from somebody.”

US Attorney Philip Sellinger shared a tweet explaining the situation. It read: “As alleged in the complaint, Pina exploited celebrity status and social media to develop a devoted following of potential victims. Promising returns that were too good to be true, Pina allegedly defrauded dozens of people of millions of dollars. Our office is committed to protecting the public from these schemes and prosecuting those who lie to investors for their orwn personal gain.”

Questlove Continues To Prove He’s Ready For Late-Night TV In “Quest for Craft” Season 3

If it were left up to Questlove to make late-night television great again, I’m pretty confident he could easily conquer the task. Why, might one ask?

Season three of his digital series Quest for Craft just dropped and it has, quite possibly, one of the most exhilaratingly diverse lineups of guest appearances that I have ever seen. The Webby-Award-Winning series, in partnership with The Balvenie craft Whisky, returns with four additional episodes covering the topics of joy, voice, connection and commitment with guests such as Anderson .Paak, Yo-Yo Ma, Lena Waithe, and Fred Armisen.

While it’s obvious that Quest has some experience in the talk show, live studio audience department of entertainment given his tenure on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. But there is something inherently different and refreshing about Questlove’s approach to conversing with guests of his own one-on-one.

Take, for instance, chapter nine of Quest for Craft featuring .Paak—during which the pair have a wholesome and spirited debate about who the better drummer is between the two of them. They way they are beaming on camera has me smiling from my desktop! Something tells me Questlove in a primetime slot could do wonders for network ratings at a big conglomerate such as NBC.

Check out the full episode of Questlove and Anderson .Paak’s conversation below.

Diddy Pledges $1 Million To Howard University

Howard University students and alumni gathered in Washington, DC this week for the HBCU’s homecoming celebrations. Ex-Bison, Sean “Diddy” Combs, showed up for Yardfest with a special gift.

While on campus, Diddy performed hits like “It’s All About the Benjamins,” “I Need a Girl Part 1,” and “Act Bad.” Love Records recording artist Jozzy and Roc Nation-backed performer Kalan.FrFr joined Combs on stage.

In addition, Diddy and the Sean Combs Foundation presented a $1 million donation to his former school of higher learning. He studied business at Howard University before starting his career in the music industry. Dr. Ben Vinson III, President of Howard University, accepted the check on behalf of the 156-year-old institution.

“As someone who attended Howard University and values the transformative experience of historically Black colleges, it remains crucial that we strive to protect and uphold their legacy,” stated Sean “Diddy” Combs.

The Love Record leader also added, “This donation to Howard is not just a financial contribution; it’s also a reaffirmation of our commitment to a cultural institution that has touched countless lives. It’s about ensuring that HBCUs continue to receive the support they rightfully deserve.”

Previously, Diddy bestowed $1 million to the Jackson State University football program. He also partnered with Earn Your Leisure co-founders Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings. They established a $1 million investment fund as part of an initiative to uphold the legacies of HBCUs.

Sean “Diddy” Combs became one of the most successful businessmen in Hip-Hop history. Ventures such as Bad Boy Entertainment, Sean John and Revolt TV helped him build a $1 billion fortune. Howard University recognized the Harlem native’s accomplishments by offering him an honorary degree in humanities in 2014.

“This is such a tremendously meaningful gift to Howard University, and we are deeply grateful,” said Ben Vinson III. “Since his days here as a student, Sean Combs has always credited Howard for helping him become the groundbreaking entertainer and entrepreneur that he has become.”

The 18th president of Howard University continued, “His gift will have a profound impact on our students, paving the way for future leaders.  We are honored to have Sean Combs as a part of our Bison family.”

Nike Gata Releases New Hit Single “Sneaky Link”

New Jersey-based rapper/comedian Nike Gata has been receiving a lot of attention for his fun energetic sports sports-related music. Before his songs made it to the likes of ESPN and NBA 2k, Nike was tricked by his friends who loved his funny freestyles to enter a rap showcase hosted by DJ Drewski of Hot97 radio station. Just like his friends, the crowd was amazed by the energy, ultimately winning the competition. From the smile to style Nike Gata takes over any room he’s in. Backed by songs like ”Lonzo Ball Freestyle” and “Bottom Of The Net” released in 2020, which later were picked up by the biggest sport networks for placement deals, show he’s got something to take seriously.

Born in the mid-90s, Howell Reynolds (Nike Gata) took a lot of influence from not too many rappers but comedians and athletes. From Martin Lawrence to Will Smith being fly and funny was always cool which is a quote by he lives by it today. Add that with him having a Kobe Bryant mamba-like mentality in and out the studio. The guy is entertainingly un-guard able lol.

His stage name Nike Gata is actually his way of paying homage to his favorite athlete Micheal Jordan. Entering the league in 1985 Jordan’s first contracts were from Nike (brand) and Gatorade. He vowed to follow the same steps as his idol. Nike has already had a Gatorade sponsorship for marketing products and has been in talks with Nike (brand) for modeling and possibly more.

Nike Gata Recently signed with Twenty Two Recordings, LLC in partnership with Warner Music Group and Muddy Dreams Management Co. He is geared up to have the whole world rocking with his new hit singles “Sneaky Link” and “Easy”. This kid’s going to be something major, he can’t wait to say he told you so. His debut single “Sneaky Link” is scheduled for release on 10/27/2023.

So Gaudy Talks New Album “Outside” & Opening For GloRilla

So Gaudy just released his new album titled Outside, putting in the work needed to cement his name in the music industry. Clocking in at 15 tracks, the project hails a standout feature from Kap G on “WASN’T ME,” with majority of the production handled by 44youmadethis (known for 21 Savage’s Slaughter Gang).

One of the lead singles, “What You Mean” featuring Boomin, hails a music video that was shot in D.C., with footage of So Gaudy opening for Gorilla — probably the biggest artist he’s opened for to date.

Born and raised in Las Vegas, the rising star prides himself in his versatility, with the ability to create a vibe for any occasion. He states, “ I’ve become a phenomenal artist. I’ve gotten out of the box and become more versatile. I don’t want to be an artist only known for one sound.”

The “Myself” recording artist has been involved in music his entire life, with his grandfather being an opera singer from South America and his grandmother a well-known piano player from France. His father even worked and toured with Jimi Hendrix back in the day, setting up SoGaudy for the greatness that runs in his family.

AllHipHop caught up with SoGaudy to discuss the new project, opening for Glorilla, and more!

AllHipHop: How are you doing?

So Gaudy: I just got back in town, so my hair looks a little crazy. I was in Arizona, working. I do all the events for SosoExotics702, so I was out there in AZ.

AllHipHop: Was it lit?

So Gaudy: It’s still hot out there. It’s almost like in Arizona when it’s too hot, people don’t come out. They come out, but in the wintertime is when it’s really lit. Wintertime, everybody comes out. For some reason in the summertime, people don’t like to come out. It’s still lit, but there’s usually a lot more people.

AllHipHop: How you been since the last time we chatted?

So Gaudy: I’ve been good. I’ve been working, handling this new album. Just trying to get things situated with my brand, obviously with GRE and all that. Been putting in a lot of work, that’s all. Trying to stay busy, consistent. Get these new videos and new music out. Nonstop grind.

AllHipHop: Definitely want to touch on your new album, Outside. What inspired it? I’d imagine you’re outside.

So Gaudy: Let’s run it, you already know. Staying outside, putting in that work. Outside was definitely an album I recorded outside in Miami, Arizona, and Vegas. I was out in Miami working, same thing in Arizona and out there. Honestly, what inspired me to do this album is a lot of things that I’ve been going through. Not only that, but really trying to put my foot on the gas. Really put my foot on these m############ necks. I had to stay grinding.

Because when I’m in Vegas, I always make music. But when I’m out of town, my mind is in a whole nother space. That’s why this album was really mostly recorded outside of Vegas. That’s really what it was: being out of town, putting in my work, having different inspiration. Being in Miami, having inspiration being out there. I’m always in Arizona. When I’m in different places, I get different inspiration than just being here back home in Vegas.

AllHipHop: How was it tapping into your Latin roots?

So Gaudy: Good. It’s something I probably should’ve done a long time ago, but I didn’t. I love it. I definitely love it. Now, I try to be more cultural than being in the same thing. I should have tapped in in doing more reggaeton, more Latin type of music a long time ago. Which I have, but I’ve never really pushed it out there. To tell you the truth, from what I see in the industry, some of the most successful artists in the game right now are all reggaeton artists.

Rap’s cool, I love rap. I love trap music, but I’m trying to get a bag for real. I can keep on in one of these circles in Hip Hop, but everywhere I look, there’s another m########### trap rapping. There’s another m########### rapping. In my mind, man you know what? Maybe I need to step out of that box and make some music that’s gonna bring me some money. Not only that, will bring me a whole different fanbase. A whole nother vibe, a whole nother feeling.

AllHipHop: How was it shooting the “What You Mean” video in D.C.? And opening for Glorilla!

So Gaudy: D.C. was dope. I was out there opening up for Glorilla. I got my videographer, he stays in Baltimore. Anytime I go to D.C., I always have him come and meet me. Or anytime on the East Coast, I have my boy Mega come pull up on me. It was definitely a dope vibe. The Glorilla show was really dope. Shooting the video was dope.

Because the song and everything, it’s got its own little vibe. If you look in the video, we showed a lot of different monuments. We showed the Lincoln monument, the White House. I wanted to do something that honestly I didn’t really see any other people do. Which strikes me because if I was in D.C., I would’ve been shooting in all these locations. But my boy said “Nah bro, people in D.C. or people from different places, they gon’ most likely stay in their hoods. Or weren’t trying to move around and do things like that.” I’m like okay well, I definitely took the most advantage that I could of being out there. I had a lot of fun shooting “What You Mean.”

AllHipHop: How did you end up opening for Glorilla?

So Gaudy: I ended up opening up for Glorilla because of my homeboy Ben, I got a plug out there. He usually sets me up with any artists that are coming out there. If he sees something that would be a good move for me, he always calls me like, “Yo, I got this Glorilla show. I got something else going on.” He always taps in. He’s one of my D.C. plugs, he’s always looking out for me.

AllHipHop: Were you nervous?

So Gaudy: No, I wasn’t nervous at all opening up for Glorilla. The vibe and everything was cool. It was turnt up, it was lit. They was definitely messing with the music. In my mind, if I would’ve known what I was getting myself into, because I’ve never really opened up for a female artist, I probably would’ve picked a different tracklist then what I was performing. But it was still lit. It was definitely really lit.

AllHipHop: Talk about your consideration for a Grammy nomination and what that means to you.

So Gaudy: My Grammy nomination is definitely something that for me, my mind’s blown about the whole situation. I’ve never been nominated, especially not no Grammy or anything like that. It’s cool to be in that realm, definitely something that I didn’t see coming. To be honest with you, I’ve charted twice on the album already. We’re at almost 150K streams in two weeks, so it’s cool. This has never happened to me. It’s new. I’m turnt up, I’m lit about it. We’ll see what happens.

AllHipHop: Anything you want to let us know?

So Gaudy: Make sure to look out for my other two singles on the project, “Wasn’t Me” featuring Kap G and “C## N Get It,” which are also very dope tracks that are coming with music videos as well. Make sure to follow me on Instagram @sogaudy and stream the new project Outside on all streaming platforms.

NLE Choppa’s Mom Says The Rapper Is Missing

Earlier in the week, NLE Choppa was engaged in a heated exchange with online detractors questioning his relevance and now he’s disappeared, according to his mother.

Angeleta Potts, the rapper’s mother and one-time manager, took to social media to express her deep concern. She said NLE previously made plans to return to Cottonwood, a place he left as his career exploded.

“I haven’t heard from my son in hours, which is highly unusual for him,” Angeleta shared in her Instagram post. She stressed her son has never vanished without reason before, always maintaining open communication with her.

“One thing I’ve always known about my son is that he never disappears without explanation,” she remarked.

A member of NLE Choppa’s team also posted a tweet on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, urging the public to contact his mother if they had any information about his whereabouts.

Below are the messages from social media.

Boosie Badazz Reacts To Yung Bleu’s Arrest By Requesting Millions Of Dollars

Boosie Badazz remains focused on collecting money from his friend-turned-foe Yung Bleu. Boosie asked the multi-platinum-selling artist for millions of dollars in response to Yung Bleu’s October 15 arrest for battery.

“CAN U DO THE RIGHT THING N GET ME MY MILLIONS THAT WAS TAKEN FROM ME?” Boosie wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “U KNOW I F##### OVER BIG TIME!! WHY YOU DONT WANNA PAY ME?”

Boosie included a screenshot of a since-deleted Instagram post in which Yung Bleu bragged about building a $2 million facility. Yung Bleu also maintained his innocence following reports of his arrest in Georgia. He was charged with misdemeanor battery for allegedly attacking a woman.

“I’m off this internet thing but I will take time to tell all my ladies that may be a fan of Bleu: I cherish women and I’m completely innocent,” Yung Bleu posted on Instagram. “Just [know] this about to be one of [the] toughest times to be a fan of mines because I’ma about to go into another bracket as an OWNER and entrepreneur and people hate.”

Yung Bleu was originally signed to Boosie’s imprint Bad Azz Music Syndicate. Boosie believed he was screwed out of millions of dollars when Yung Bleu inked a deal with EMPIRE. Boosie claimed his signature was forged to facilitate the EMPIRE deal.

Kanye West’s Lawyer Shuts The Door On Ye Running For President In 2024

Don’t expect to see Kanye West on the presidential ballot in 2024. The rapper/producer’s lawyer Bruce Marks said Ye no longer intends to run for president.

“He’s not a candidate for office in 2024,” Marks told Rolling Stone.

Kanye previously ran for president in 2020. He was gearing up for another bid in 2024, hiring right-wing provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos to be part of the “YE24” campaign.

According to Rolling Stone, Yiannopoulos is no longer on the political committee’s payroll. Kanye’s committee seemed to be on the verge of shuttering operations based on its latest filing with the Federal Election Commission.

Kanye is currently looking for a distributor to release a collaborative album with Ty Dolla $ign. A Billboard report noted some labels backed away from working with Ye due to his antisemitic comments. Rick Ross reacted to the report by pitching Maybach Music Group as a potential distributor.

“Imagine if Ye came and allowed MMG to distribute his new project,” Rozay said on Instagram Stories. “Imagine that … Imagine the artistic drive. And I got some amazing ideas for the Yeezy brand. Amazing ideas for the Yeezy brand!”

Kanye and Rozay collaborated on several songs, including “Devil in a New Dress.” Both men are former Def Jam artists.

Donald Trump Smacked With Fine & Jail Warning For Violating Gag Order

A New York judge fined Donald Trump for violating the gag order in his civil fraud trial on Friday (October 20). Judge Arthur Engoron imposed a $5,000 fine and warned the ex-president about the possibility of jail time.

“Donald Trump has received ample warning from this court as to the possible repercussions of violating the gag order,” Judge Engoron wrote in his court order. “He specifically acknowledged that he understood and would abide by it. Accordingly, issuing yet another warning is no longer appropriate; this court is way beyond the ‘warning’ stage.”

Judge Engoron opted for a fine instead of imprisonment since it was Trump’s first violation, which his lawyers claimed was “inadvertent.” The judge stressed his lack of tolerance for any further violations.

“Make no mistake: future violations, whether intentional or unintentional, will subject the violator to far more severe sanctions, which may include, but are not limited to, steep financial penalties, holding Donald Trump in contempt of court and possibly imprisoning him,” he explained.

Judge Engoron issued the gag order after Trump attacked a court clerk on social media. Trump deleted the post from his Truth Social platform, but it remained on his campaign website for two weeks despite the judge ordering it to be taken down.

Earlier this week, Trump was hit with a separate gag order in one of his four criminal cases. Judge Tanya Chutkan forbade him from bad-mouthing prosecutors, court staff and potential witnesses in his election interference case.

DJ Mustard’s Ex Says She’s “Flabbergasted” By Alleged Emotional Abuse In Custody Battle

DJ Mustard’s ex-wife Chanel Thierry claimed he tried to convince a court she was an unfit mother. Thierry called out her ex-husband via Threads and Instagram Stories on Friday (October 20).

“Imagine a man leaving you after 11 years, less then a year later moving his gf into the home y’all custom built for your family, playing house with your kids then turning around and trying to paint a picture like you are a unfit parent to get custody,” she wrote on Threads. “I’m truly flabbergasted.”

Thierry shared the post on Instagram Stories with additional thoughts. She accused DJ Mustard of emotional abuse.

“No longer tolerating the emotional abuse on the back end,” she wrote. “I will stand for myself always when the occasion arises and especially for my children.”

DJ Mustard married Thierry in 2020. They share three children.

Last year, DJ Mustard filed for divorce. He became embroiled in a bitter legal battle with Thierry, who sought $82,000 per month in child support.

According to The Blast, Thierry was awarded $24,500 per month in child support. A judge validated the couple’s prenuptial agreement, which left her with no spousal support. Thierry received a one-time payment of $315,000 from DJ Mustard based on the terms of their prenup.

Jay-Z Pays Tribute To Mark The 45 King: “You Changed My Life”

Jay-Z has paid tribute to Hip-Hop producer DJ Mark the 45 King following his death. Manager Paul Martinez confirmed The 45 King died at the age of 62 on Thursday morning (October 19).

The producer, real name Mark Howard James, had worked on a number of well-known songs such as Jay-Z’s “Hard Knock Life” and Eminem’s “Stan.” Jay-Z took to social media to share a touching tribute to the Bronx native.

“Thank you Mark,” he began. “Your instrumentals, namely The 900 Number, were more memorable than our whole albums. You gave me a canvas to have a conversation with the world!! You changed my life. Even when the life is short, the art is long!!”

Eminem also took to social media to remember the celebrated producer.

“Legends are never over. #RIP Mark Howard James aka the 45 King … I’m 4ever grateful!!!” The Real Slim Shady rapper wrote on X/Twitter.

Queen Latifah, who worked with the producer on her early hits “Ladies First” and “Wrath of My Madness,” said in a statement, “He believed in me before anyone else. He touched every life he encountered. I’ve never met someone like him; he wanted everyone around him to win. His spirit was magic and will certainly live forever.”

The producer’s most groundbreaking track, “The 900 Number,” was released in 1987, launching him into the spotlight. The song has been sampled by several artists since its release. In addition to Jay-Z, Eminem and Latifah, The 45 King also worked with Madonna, Salt-N-Pepa and, of course, his own collective, Flavor Unit. The specific details surrounding The 45 King’s death haven’t been revealed, but promoter Van Silk told AllHipHop he’d been sick for some time.

Southside’s Attitude Wasn’t The Only Crappy Part About FunnyMarco’s Interview With G Herbo

If you haven’t already caught wind of it by now, fans believe G Herbo and Southside’s behavior in YouTuber FunnyMarco’s recent interview was ordure—or, quite s####y.

In addition to visually berating FunnyMarco due to his appearance, among other things, Herbo and Southside are accused of damaging a $30,000 watch that belonged to him. Things apparently went so wrong during the interview that FunnyMarco issued a lengthy statement regarding the episode on his personal Facebook.

“I understand a lot of y’all mad about the interview. I was upset while it was going on,” he wrote. “But I understand I got a job to do & one thing about me, I respect people on my show.”

However, apparently all of the crappy shenanigans they pulled weren’t revealed until now—as a short clip has begun to go viral and circulate on social media. The clip in question appears to show Southside literally showing his ass on camera whilst his jeans appear to show some sort of dark brownish stain near his butt.

A post shared by MyMixtapez (@mymixtapez)

While G Herbo has since reposted the interview himself, calling FunnyMarco his “Freternal twin” and Southside also seemingly responded to the controversy on in a story video posted on The Gram, there’s seemingly no explanation for this secondary stain on the conversation.

Check out the full interview below.

50 Cent Sees Opportunity After Feds Bust Dozens Of Black Mafia Family Members

Former Black Mafia Family leaders Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory (who’s currently incarcerated) and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory (who was released in 2020), may have taken a back seat, but BMF remains active and formidable in the criminal underworld. This week, St. Louis became the epicenter of a massive crackdown, resulting in the arrest of more than two dozen individuals linked to the notorious group.

The Flenory brothers, who once led the BMF, had built an empire into an operation that raked in over $250 million that spanned across the U.S., with roots in Detroit. Their nationwide drug-trafficking ring was their downfall, leading to their imprisonment in 2008.

BMF’s story of ambition, power and decline caught the attention of the entertainment world, inspiring a series on Starz executive produced by 50 Cent, who viewed the latest arrests as an opportunity.

“BMF again ain’t this a b####,” he wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday (October 19). “J BO story is a spin off I’m a put it on the tube you know the vibes.”

U.S. Attorney Sayler A. Fleming spearheaded the operation and revealed the individuals face multiple charges ranging from drug trafficking to intricate financial crimes. The arrests were the outcome of meticulous collaboration between the U.S. Marshals, federal agents and local police, all acting on a series of grand jury indictments. To date, 34 individuals have been implicated, with a significant number being charged recently. Even the DEA was shocked at the size and scale of the latest incarnation of the Black Mafia Family.

“The scale of this Midwest criminal operation is uncommon, so it’s no wonder that it took the combined resources of federal, state and local law enforcement to bring the operation to an end,” Special Agent in Charge Michael A. Davis said. “Protecting our citizens is DEA’s primary goal and the reward is worth the effort,”

Law enforcement’s efforts bore fruit as they managed to seize substantial amounts of fentanyl, methamphetamine, firearms and cash during the operation. The arrestees, as identified in subsequent detention hearings, were either directly affiliated with the BMF or had close associations.

Chad “JBo” Brown, one of the defendants, has been particularly vocal about his association, referring to himself as the “Junior Boss” of the BMF. His claims, backed by various videos on social media, provide a glimpse into the group’s expansive drug trafficking operations.

However, the BMF’s illicit activities aren’t confined to drug trafficking. Fleming highlighted instances where members were involved in money laundering for the organization.

Some even allegedly exploited the COVID-19 pandemic, securing loans under false pretenses, which were originally intended to aid struggling businesses and employees.

Among those indicted are:

  • Chad E. “JBo” Brown, 51, charged with bank fraud and using a false document, accused of fraudulently obtaining a PPP loan.
  • Robert L. Lewis, 45, facing charges for fentanyl distribution and illegal firearm possession.
  • Robert “Honest” Sims, 40, indicted for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
  • Samir Simpson-Bey, 37, charged with fentanyl distribution.
  • Jeremy “Welo” Steele, 44, indicted for conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine.
  • Carl Von Garrett, 53, facing charges for money laundering, allegedly laundering nearly $1,000,000 of drug proceeds in 2021.
  • Tiffany J. “Tiff BMF” Nelson, 42, indicted for money laundering, accused of laundering proceeds from illegal activities.

Macklemore Calls Israel-Gaza War “Genocide”

The ongoing Israel–Hamas war has become one of the most polarizing political topics in the world, and Macklemore has decided to offer his thoughts on the extremely dangerous situation.

On Thursday (October 19), Macklemore posted a lengthy message on his Instagram page about the Middle East turmoil. The 40-year-old Grammy winner blatantly denounced the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel. In addition, he criticized the Israeli government for its treatment of Palestinian civilians.

“I have been in fear,” he began. “I have felt a literal lump in my throat and I cannot stay silent any longer. I condemn the murder of any human. The bombings, kidnappings and murder of the Israeli people carried out by Hamas was horrific in every way imaginable.”

Furthermore, the Ben album creator called on both sides to agree to a ceasefire. Macklemore also suggested the United States is responsible for some of the casualties by backing Israel’s bombing and blockade efforts in the Gaza Strip.

“We are witnessing an unfolding genocide in Palestine at this very moment,” he continued. “A U.S.-backed human catastrophe in front of our eyes. Gaza is being demolished. Well over 1 million people have lost their homes. Schools, hospitals, places of worship obliterated.”

On October 7, Hamas militants conducted a coordinated surprise offensive inside Israel. Reports claim the attacks killed around 1,400 Israelis, including 260 people at a music festival near the Gaza border. Over 4,000 Gaza residents have reportedly lost their lives since the start of this latest round in a decades-old fight.

“By no means am I an expert on this conflict,” Macklemore concluded. “I am relatively new to this and learning as I go. [There are] 75 years of Palestinian occupation and deeply rooted pain on both sides, stemming back far before I was born. But there is no side to take when it comes to our collective human spirit. We all have a voice and a platform to stand for what is right and just. Even if it’s a one-on-one conversation with someone.”

Blueface Says He Saw Megan Thee Stallion’s Wounded Feet After Tory Lanez Shooting

There are still some people who express skepticism that Tory Lanez actually shot Megan Thee Stallion in the feet. “Thotiana” rapper Blueface is now claiming he got to see the physical aftermath from that 2020 incident.

The latest episode of Adam22’s No Jumper podcast features an interview with Blueface and his partner Jaidyn Alexis. At one point during the conversation, Blueface spoke about his alleged experiences with Megan Thee Stallion around the time of the shooting.

“When she got shot, I sent her a message, like, ‘Hey, you okay?’ We chopped it up, mixed and mingled,” recalled Blueface. When asked about Meg’s supposed injured feet, Blue responded, “I didn’t examine them. I seen them. It seemed like something occurred. I ain’t gonna say it looked like she got shot in the foot.”

In addition, Blueface said he received oral sex from Megan Thee Stallion around that time. He also talked about allegedly getting head from the Houston Hottie while sitting down with The Jason Lee Show. Meg has not confirmed nor denied those claims.

Megan Thee Stallion publicly named Tory Lanez as the person who shot her on the night of July 12, 2020. The “WAP” rapper later shared images of her foot injuries. She wanted to dispel the rumors that Lanez never shot her.

In December 2022, a California jury convicted Tory Lanez (born Daystar Peterson) of three felony charges: assault with a semiautomatic handgun, having a loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and gross negligence in discharging his firearm. A judge sentenced him to 10 years in state prison.

Public figures such as Meek Mill and Iggy Azalea continued to show support for Tory Lanez even after the Sorry 4 What album creator’s assault conviction. Industry insiders like DJ Akademiks and Wack 100 still expressed disbelief that Lanez actually fired a gun at Megan Thee Stallion.

Wale Drops “Max Julien” Single After Signing With Def Jam

Wale has a new label home. The Washington, DC native reportedly inked a deal with Def Jam Recordings.

According to TMZ, Wale signed with Def Jam several months ago. The iconic record company backed a brand new song by the 39-year-old MC born Olubowale Victor Akintimehin.

Wale’s “Max Julien” single arrived on October 20. The D-Woo-produced track sampled Missy Elliott’s “I’ve Changed (Interlude)” featuring Lil Mo from the 2001 album Miss E… So Addictive.

Wale first broke onto the mainstream music scene under the Interscope Records umbrella. His debut album, Attention Deficit, dropped in November 2009. That album failed to break into the Billboard 200’s Top 20.

After moving over to Warner Bros. Records, 2011’s Ambition became Wale’s first Top 5 entry on the Billboard 200 by landing at No. 2. He then scored back-to-back Number Ones with 2013’s The Gifted and 2015’s The Album About Nothing.

Folarin II is Wale’s most recent full-length solo LP. That 2021 project was released through Every Blue Moon, Maybach Music Group and Warner Records. Folarin II peaked at No. 22 on the Billboard 200 chart.
