50 Cent Mocks Meek Mill’s Album Sales & Diddy Connection – Gets Response

50 Cent unsurprisingly responded to Meek Mill’s social media jabs on Monday (May 13). The combative rapper teased Meek Mill over the Heathenism EP’s first-week sales.

“You sold 6k copies your last project, you should not be on Vacation,” 50 Cent wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “Still chasing the dream or embracing the nightmare. Standing by your man, that I respect!”

Meek Mill criticized 50 Cent for beefing with Diddy’s son King Combs, who released a diss track on Sunday (May 12). Meek Mill boasted about taking his son to an island for a birthday celebration and noted how 50 Cent’s son Marquise Jackson hates the G-Unit boss.

50 Cent was unfazed by the comments. He continued to reference allegations from Lil Rod’s lawsuit against Diddy. The lawsuit implied Meek Mill had sex with Diddy.

“I commend you for being a strong supportive woman for your man meek, stay by his side and together you guys may have a good life,” 50 Cent wrote. “GOD BLESS!”

Meek Mill fired back by defending his album sales and bringing up 50 Cent’s relationship with Cuban Link in a series of since-deleted posts.

“My last project sold 90k first week expensive pain,” Meek Mill wrote. “Ross did that last cd for fun to let me out my contact cause we rich and have some type of history! It’s different lol i don’t even know how Cuban was talking to you ya swag is extremely wack!”

Meek Mill insinuated 50 Cent was working with the feds. The Philly native believed 50 Cent changed for the worse.

“Nah you post my son b4 son I see you posting puff son you on may be working for ‘them’ I seen you laugh b4 when people get locked up!” Meek Mill wrote. “I grew up to many man not this the net wasn’t out… what is this idk … I be around Jigga and them all they homies rich ion see ya type!”

He added, “Ask 50 oldest son have I ever said anything bad about his dad when he was around me years ago! I told him my dad dead and he should holler at his! I came up different I thought the rap s### was to be protected this s### got weird.”

Listen to the song that set off the back-and-forth below.

EXCLUSIVE: B.G. Must Get Lyrics Approved By Probation Officer If Prosecutor Gets His Way

The United States government has accused rapper B.G. of violating his probation by glorifying gangsters and murderers in his lyrics. Now, they are seeking to modify his supervised release conditions, including a requirement for B.G. to submit all of his lyrics for approval before they are published.

B.G., whose real name is Christopher Dorsey, was sentenced to 120 months in prison in 2012 for being a felon in possession of a firearm and obstruction of justice. He was released on supervised release in September of 2023, but the government claims he’s violated the terms of his release by associating with known felons and engaging in self-employment without court approval.

B.G., known from his Hot Boys fame, was arrested in Las Vegas in March for breeching the terms of his supervised release from prison. He had performed with Boosie Badazz at a concert without securing the necessary written approval required under his parole for self-employment activities.

His appearance onstage wasn’t the only issue; B.G.’s recent collaboration on the album Choppers & Bricks with Gucci Mane also violated parole stipulations that prohibit him from interacting with convicted felons.

United States Attorney Maurice E. Landrieu Jr. argues that B.G.”s recent music videos and songs glorify violence drug dealing, and threaten those who cooperate with law enforcement. The government contends that his behavior is inconsistent with the goals of supervised release, which include rehabilitation and becoming a responsible, law-abiding member of society.

Landrieu highlights specific lyrics and scenes from B.G.’s recent songs and videos that the government believes promote a culture of violence and despair. He claims B.G. is back to his old ways, glorifying murder, drug dealing and cooperating witnesses in songs like “Say My Grace” and “Waaaahhhh! The Comeback Kid,” among others.

According to Landrieu, B.G. is out of pocket for giving props to Telly Hankton and Walter Porter, aka “Mooney,” who were smacked with RICO charges for killing off their rivals and other crimes.

The government also points out that B.G.’s music has previously been linked to criminal activity, including murders committed by individuals associated with him.

To address these concerns, the government is requesting that B.G. be ordered to appear before the court for a hearing or status conference to modify his supervised release conditions. If the feds get their way, B.G. must provide his probation officer with a written copy of the lyrics for every song he has written or will write while on supervised release.

The lyrics will be kept by the probation office for monitoring purposes and will not be released to the public without B.G.’s consent or a court order. However, the government will be provided with a copy of the lyrics.

B.G. will also be prohibited from associating or working with anyone who has previously been convicted of a felony offense without obtaining written approval from the court.

It’s B.G.’s responsibility to determine if any of his associates or collaborators are felons. The rapper would be prohibited from participating in any form of self-employment without obtaining written approval from the court, as well.

B.G. isn’t allowed to travel outside the District of Nevada, where he’s currently being supervised, without permission from the probation office.

The government emphasizes that these modifications are aimed at refocusing B.G. on rehabilitation and his responsibility to the community. The government believes that a revocation of his supervised release and a return to incarceration isn’t warranted at this time.

If B.G. violates his supervised release conditions again, the government suggests that the court may consider additional penalties, which could include a revocation of supervised release, resulting in a return to prison or other appropriate measures to ensure compliance with the terms of his release.

Meek Mill Attacks 50 Cent Over Beef With Diddy’s Son King Combs

Meek Mill stepped in the middle of 50 Cent’s feud with Diddy and King Combs on Monday (May 13). Meek Mill criticized 50 Cent for trolling King Combs, who released a diss track aimed at the G-Unit boss and Diddy’s other detractors.

“Because your federal the street n##### in queens know that why you tryna pick on a lil boy,” Meek Mill wrote to 50 Cent on X (formerly known as Twitter). “your own son hate your guts lol I’m so grateful to be on a island with my son and his friends on his bday .. don’t follow these guys they miserable lives be terrible.”

He added, “Yall n##### 50 online beefing with kids … of course yall n##### left all yall friends and family behind! Yall holding the culture back fr old hating manipulation n##### lol.”

Meek Mill claimed he says whatever he wants because he’s ready for “war” if necessary. He bashed 50 Cent for tearing down others and showed no fear of the Power franchise’s producer.

“Owwwwww what I ran into 50 many times he only had monster around him that was risking his life and really holding the line!” Meek Mill wrote. “Nobody trusting 50 he too vicious … n#### spoke on my child like this n#### mentally sick lol.

He continued, “I never seen black people laugh at black people getting indicted… he really be online enhancing people cases … and he got real statements against n##### …. You aint feed Mike Knox yet… everybody on to you!”

50 Cent has been one of Diddy’s most vocal critics since the Bad Boy Records founder’s legal troubles began in 2023. Multiple women and producer Lil Rod sued Diddy for sexual assault. The feds raided Diddy’s homes as part of an investigation into allegations of sex trafficking in March.

Diddy has denied any wrongdoing. So far, he has not been charged with any crimes.

Kendrick Lamar’s Drake Diss “Not Like Us” Debuts At No. 1

Kendrick Lamar added insult to injury as his Drake diss track “Not Like Us” hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The DJ Mustard-produced song debuted at the top of the chart thanks to 70.9 million streams, 5 million radio airplay audience impressions and 15,000 copies sold in the U.S. in its first week.

“Not Like Us” was Kendrick’s second Drake diss to reach No. 1. Future and Metro Boomin’s Kendrick-assisted “Like That,” the opening salvo in the Drake battle, spent three weeks at No. 1 in April. “Not Like Us” was the fourth No. 1 hit of Kendrick’s career. His other chart-topping entries included “Humble” and the Taylor Swift collaboration “Bad Blood.”

Kendrick quickly released “Not Like Us” after dropping “Meet the Grahams,” a response to Drake’s “Family Matters.” K. Dot called Drake a predator on “Meet the Grahams,” equating the Canadian’s alleged misdeeds to those of disgraced movie executive Harvey Weinstein. Kendrick doubled down on his accusations on “Not Like Us.”

“Say, Drake, I hear you like ’em young/You better not ever go to cell block one/To any b#### that talk to him and they in love/Just make sure you hide your lil’ sister from him/They tell me Chubbs the only one that get your hand-me-downs/And Party at the party playing with his nose now/And Baka got a weird case, why is he around?/Certified Lover Boy? Certified pedophiles/Wop, wop, wop, wop, wop, Dot, f### ’em up/Wop, wop, wop, wop, wop, I’ma do my stuff/Why you trolling like a b####? Ain’t you tired?/Tryna strike a chord and it’s probably A minor,” he rapped.

Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” was arguably the biggest blow in the battle with Drake. The song encouraged fans to chant lines like “freaky-ass n####, he a 69 God” and “OV-ho,” entering the pop culture zeitgeist in a much different way than Kendrick and Drake’s previous diss tracks.

Drake defended himself by releasing “The Heart Part 6.” Many fans deemed it to be too little, too late, declaring Kendrick the winner.

Azealia Banks Claims Kendrick Lamar’s “Dick Is Wild Trash” In Drake’s Defense

Azealia Banks scoffed at Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss tracks, offering a dissenting opinion to the widespread praise K. Dot has received. Banks downplayed the effectiveness of Kendrick’s work, calling him “the most boring rapper ever.”

“Y’all are really gassing Kendrick for being such a Drake fan that he stayed up (clearly on a substance) for almost five days to write meaningless love songs in which he spilled absolutely no tea,” she wrote. “The daughter thing is fake, metro making bbl drizzy beats like Kanye ain’t got the fattest bbl in the rap. As a fellow Gemini, Kendrick clearly thought this would be a clever way to relaunch himself to the forefront given the lack of pop cultural fanfare from his last release.”

Banks claimed Kendrick diminished the prestige of his Pulitzer Prize by displaying a “lack of self-control.” She believed the late Tupac Shakur would think Kendrick is a “cornball” as she rolled her eyes at dissing Drake for getting cosmetic surgery.

“Kendrick’s dick is wild trash,” Banks wrote. “Everybody gotta stop acting like all the rap n##### don’t have work done. Kanye has the biggest apple bottom in Hip-Hop history. Rick Ross (I love u) but u have horrible veneers, had a gastric sleeve and gastric bypass, AND ARE STILL SELLING ALCOHOL?!?! you could have just called me I would have fixed it for you the natural way.”

Banks’ rant took a turn when she cited various age of consent laws to defend Drake. Kendrick infamously called Drake a pedophile, which the Canadian star denied.

“Why call Drake a pedophile when 17 is the legal age of consent, and in many states, it’s 16!!!” Banks wrote. “Why isn’t Kendrick calling about Biden whose daughter revealed that he would come into the shower with her at NINE YEARS OLD, for using his song for political promotion? Yall stupid if u think any points were made.”

Kendrick kicked off the rap battle by dissing Drake on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That” in March. Kendrick and Drake exchanged several diss tracks over the past two months. Drake’s “The Heart Part 6” was the last song released in the beef as of Monday (May 13).

Rapsody Wants People To Stop Saying “Female” Hip-Hop—”It’s Just Hip-Hop”

Rapsody will drop Please Don’t Cry on Friday (May 13). The Grammy Award-nominated recording artist had a message for Hip-Hop fans before the release of her next project.

According to a recent social media post, Rapsody doesn’t want the world to categorize her as a “female” rapper. The 41-year-old MC took to Twitter (X) to share her thoughts on the topic on Sunday (May 12).

“There’s no ‘female’ Hip-Hop,” the Snow Hill, North Carolina native tweeted. “It’s just Hip-Hop, loved ones.”

Dozens of women have become rap stars over the last seven years following more than a decade of men mostly dominating the genre. Rapsody added to the output with projects such as 2017’s Laila’s Wisdom and 2019’s EVE.

The tracklist for 2024’s Please Don’t Cry features Erykah Badu, Lil Wayne, Baby Tate and more. Legendary actress Phylicia Rashad (The Cosby Show, This Is Us) also contributes to the project.

Rapsody’s “Stand Tall” single arrived on March 15. She explained, “It started me on the journey, and it required me to be fearless, which is why I titled it ‘Stand Tall’ – be firm in who you are, legs straight, shoulder back, chest out.”

Childish Gambino Announces World Tour Hours After Surprise Album Drop

Childish Gambino (real name Donald Glover) dropped his surprise album, Atavista, on Sunday (May 12). The multi-hyphenate, born Donald Glover, will also head out on a global tour with Willow and Amaarae beginning this summer.

The New World Tour kicks off on August 11 in Oklahoma City and hit several other North American cities, including Toronto, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Los Angeles and Chicago.

In addition, the 5x-Grammy Award winner plans to perform in European locales such as Oslo, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam and London. The New World Tour will land in Australia as well.

Atavista serves as the reissued version of Childish Gambino’s 2020 album, 3.15.20. His latest body of work joined a discography that already boasted two Billboard 200 Top 10 entries: Because the Internet and “Awaken, My Love!”

Ariana Grande, Kadhja Bonet, 21 Savage, Ink, Young Nudy and Summer Walker are among the guest appearances on Atavista. The 11-track project features production by Donald Glover, DJ Dahi, Ludwig Göransson and others.

In addition to his gig as a professional recording artist, Childish Gambino produced and starred in the television series Atlanta and Mr. & Mrs. Smith. He also acted in movies such as Spider-Man: Homecoming and Solo: A Star Wars Story.

“The Riddler” Possibly Still Trolling Drake—And It’s Getting Uglier

Y’all come in and sit down. Shut the door, because all hell has broken loose. Some people are saying that Kendrick Lamar—who’s been nicknamed “The Riddler”—has broken his silence and is now working through a burner account.

By the way, I don’t believe that. But this new video has everybody collectively in awe.

Remember when Drake was all like, “Kendrick’s lying,” throwing all this shade about that “meet the grahams” cover art? Well, guess what?

It looks like the video could have been filmed from Kendrick Lamar’s Manhattan apartment. Again, I don’t believe that.

In the video, there are two dates on the prescription bottles that are very important. We searched through Instagram and this is all fitting together like a puzzle.

Some people STILL maintain that UMG talked to Top Dawg (TDE) and Daylyte (allegedly one of Drake’s ghostwriters), and was like, “Yo, there needs to be a ceasefire.” Drake has turned into the butt of many jokes with people at graduations singing “they not like us.”

Not Like Us getting played at USC graduation ceremony 🔥
byu/green_day_95 inKendrickLamar

Kendrick Lamar said, “You know what? I’ll take my win.” However, he may still harbor anger about what Drake said about his wifey and child. So there’s this little burner account, which could be Dot (probably not), maybe somebody close or something more, like a security guard.

It truly feels like some dark mess is about to be exposed. There’s CCTV footage of Drake standing in a hotel doorway and a baby (but I think it’s a man with a sever disability). No matter what, it’s weird as hell.

This is where Twitter is CLUTCH. These folks are on top of it all. Peep this stuff (By the way, I’m not co-signing. AllHipHop is not reporting this as any fact at all):

You all know, I would typically write this out, but Twitter (never calling it X) just moves too fast.

Take that in and I’ll double back with you later.

Soulja Boy Threatens To “Swing On” 21 Savage After Dissing Metro Boomin’s Deceased Mom

The beef between Soulja Boy and 21 Savage continues to heat up. The two Atlanta-based recording artists have been sending shots at each other on social media.

Soulja Boy’s ongoing feud with 21 Savage began after he called out Savage’s longtime production partner, Metro Boomin. That disrespect directed at the St. Louis-bred beatmaker turned extremely personal.

“You sacrificed your own mom @MetroBoomin you a puppet,” Soulja Boy tweeted on Mother’s Day (May 12). The Big Draco 3 album creator also wrote, “Dig that n#### mama up and throw her back in that b####.” Metro Boomin’s stepfather reportedly killed his mother in 2022.

21 Savage fired back at Soulja Boy in several now-deleted tweets. The Slaughter Gang leader also tweeted, “Speaking on a n#### mama like s### a game you gone s### on yourself when I see you boy.”

On Monday (May 13), Soulja returned to the X platform to add more fuel to the growing fire. In addition, the 33-year-old internet personality threatened to get physical with 21 Savage.

Soulja Boy quote-tweeted Savage on Monday morning. The “Turn My Swag On” rapper then added, “F### [you] and his mama lil boy. Nah umma swing on [you] when I see you lame.”

Chief Keef Celebrates Being Off Lean For Four Months

Chief Keef rose from a local Chicago rapper to a national figure with his 2012 album Finally Rich. The LP included a track titled “Hate Bein’ Sober” featuring 50 Cent and Wiz Khalifa.

Fast Forward to 2024, Chief Keef is now celebrating sobriety. The 28-year-old Midwesterner took to his Instagram Story to let his followers know that he has not drunk codeine/promethazine syrup for at least twelve weeks.

“Been clean of lean for 3-4 months now! CHAMPION [kissing face with smiling eyes emoji] [clapping hands emoji] [leaves emoji],” Chief Keef wrote on his Instagram Story.

Chief Keef has faced several legal issues related to drug use. In 2011, police charged a teenage Keith Cozart with the manufacture and delivery of heroin near a school, public housing building or park.

Additionally, Keef served a 20-day jail sentence in 2013 for a probation violation after testing positive for marijuana. He also had a driving under the influence of marijuana case in 2014 and a possession of a controlled substance case in 2017.

Following the release of Finally Rich, Chief Keef put out other studio LPs such as 2015’s Bang 3 and 2021’s 4NEM. He dropped the Almighty So 2 album on May 10, 2024. Almighty So 2 features G Herbo, Lil Gnar, Tierra Whack, Sexyy Red and Quavo.

21 Savage Fires Back At Soulja Boy: “Sit Yo Musty A## Down Somewhere”

21 Savage and Soulja Boy have become the latest rivals of beef season 2024. The two stars’ feud began after Soulja aimed at Metro Boomin for a decade-old tweet.

Metro Boomin and 21 Savage have been longtime colleagues, so Savage jumped into the fight to defend his musical partner. Soulja Boy took it to a personal level by mentioning Metro’s deceased mother on Mother’s Day.

“You sacrificed your own mom @MetroBoomin you a puppet,” Soulja Boy tweeted on Sunday (May 12). The “Crank That” hitmaker also wrote, “Dig that n#### mama up and throw her back in that b####.”

21 Savage addressed Soulja Boy in a series of tweets on Monday morning (May 13). The American Dream album creator repeatedly referred to Soulja as a drug abuser.

“Crackhead ass n#### went to jail for having bullets [face with tears of joy emojis.] I ain’t even know they had a bullet charge,” Savage posted about Soulja Boy in a now-deleted tweet.

Additionally, Savage tweet-and-deleted, “Yall j ass n##### better find somebody to play with Airbnb living ass lil boy. Sit yo musty ass down somewhere. Don’t nobody buy ringtones no more.”

21 Savage also reacted to Soulja Boy disrespecting Metro Boomin’s late mother. The London-born, Atlanta-raised rap star tweeted, “Speaking on a n#### mama like s### a game, you gone s### on yourself when I see you boy.”

Ludacris Ranks His Raps Skills Against Drake, Jay-Z & Lil Wayne

Ludacris is confident that he can put his rap skills to the test against some of the greatest rappers to touch a microphone, including Drake, Jay-Z and Lil Wayne.

During the latest episode of Funky Friday with Cam Newton, Luda played a game of “Win, Lose, Draw,” where he had to pick himself or a fellow rapper as the winner in various categories.

After crowning himself the victor in the music video category over DaBaby but conceding to Missy Elliott, Newton pitted Ludacris against Lil Wayne in a freestyle battle.

“I think Wayne, he’s one of the greatest by the way, I think he’s admitted… he don’t freestyle a lot, so I would just say I would win that,” Ludacris said. “He makes songs quick as hell, don’t get me wrong.”

Newton then asked who could create a better verse in under two hours, Ludacris or Jay-Z.

“I would win on that one,” he argued before justifying his position. “That’s a strong statement to say that because again, Hov is definitely one of my favorites as well. Verses, man, I’m just gon’ go in and metaphor and style, in terms of flow, I’ma kill that s###. It’s not to say that Hov is not gon’ kill that s###.”

Luda continued, “I got to, like every f###### word, every line, every style, every flow, every metaphor. I got to go.”

While he acknowledged, “I’m great at hooks,” he gave that category to the OVO honcho. “Drake got Melodies and singing and stuff like that,” Ludacris said. “I give that to Drake, humbly speaking I’ll give him the hooks.”

Check out the podcast below. the “Win, Lose, or Draw conversation begins around the 44:00 minute mark.

Meanwhile, Ludacris fans can expect some a new album after a nine-year hiatus. Last month, Luda revealed he’s working on the follow-up to Ludaversal after taking a “step back” to live life.

21 Savage Opens Up About Drake & Metro Boomin Beef

21 Savage isn’t taking sides in the beef between Drake and Metro Boomin and believes the warring duo will ultimately settle their differences.

21’s former collaborators have been at odds for some time, but the bad blood only intensified with Metro and Future’s collaborative album We Don’t Trust You. The project featured K. Dot’s Drake diss “Like That,” which kicked off the beef that consumed Hip-Hop for weeks.

However, during an Instagram Live Sunday (May 12) 21 Savage insisted he’s remaining neutral.  Furthermore, he thinks Drake and Metro Boomin will squash the beef.

“Don’t keep coming on to my muthafuckin Live talking about no muthafuckin beef,” Savage said. “Metro my brother and Drake my brother. Them n##### going to figure that s### out eventually.”

While he is staying out of Metro Boomin and Drake’s beef, 21 Savage had something to say when Soulja Boy unleashed on the producer over a resurfaced tweet this past weekend.

“Go delete that tweet,” Soulja Boy told Metro Boomin in an Instagram video. “I don’t give a f### if it was three years old, I don’t give a f### if it was 20 years old.”

He captioned his post, “He got 24 hours to delete that tweet,” to which 21 Savage replied, “Or what.”

Soulja Boy responded to 21 Savage via his Instagram Stories, threatening to “beat the f###” out of him and clowning him for being British. He also called out 21 Savage for staying clear of Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s feud.

Childish Gambino Returns With Surprise Album “Atavista”

Childish Gambino—the alter ego of Donald Glover—returned with a surprise album, Atavista, on Sunday (May 13). Gambino described the project as, “the finished version of 3.15.20, the album i put out 4 years ago.”

The 11-track album includes features from 21 Savage, Summer Walker, Ariana Grande and more. Atavista arrived with a new video for “Little Foot Big Foot,” which boasts a guest appearance from Yung Nudy.

The visuals, directed by longtime collaborator Hiro Murai, stars Quinta Brunson and others.

Childish Gambino also revealed an upcoming “special vinyl” with visuals for each song. He added, “The all new childish gambino album comes out in the summer.”

Childish Gambino teased his new album last month and explained its origins, revealing that 3.15.20 was always originally titled Atavista.

“But we put it out quickly, I didn’t master or mix it, I just kind of put it out,” he said. “I was going through a lot, n##### thought everybody was going to die because it was the pandemic. We put it out, we finished it, it’s ‘Atavista,’ we’re putting that out.

He also revealed his final project as Childish Gambino will serve as the soundtrack to his film Bando Storm and the New World

“But then after that, there’s a Childish Gambino album,” he added. “The last Childish Gambino album is a soundtrack to this film, and it is for my fans.”

50 Cent Trolls Diddy’s Son Christian Combs Over Sexual Assault Lawsuit In Response To New Diss

50 Cent hit back at Diddy’s son, Christian Combs, in response to his new diss track.

On Sunday (May 12), Christian Combs dropped a diss, firing back at everybody who turned on his father following multiple sexual assault lawsuits. He also addressed 50 Cent, who has mocked the Bad Boy Records founder at every turn.

“When all they had was 50 Cent, who put the city on the map?” Christian raps. “Stop lying, pops been hated on by many men and that’s fine. They gone try and stop these M&M’s and they gone die trying.”

50 Cent responded via Instagram with a photo from a lawsuit filed by Grace O’Marcaigh, who is suing Christian for alleged sexual assault, sexual harassment and infliction of emotional distress.

“Damn @kingcombs that what you told Grace O’Marcaigh on that boat huh,” he captioned his post. “Gave her the puffy juice with that special sauce in it. LOL BOY OH BOY! BAD BOY FOR LIFE!”

50 Cent also shared a photo of Diddy and Christian performing while trolling the father-son duo. He also regurgitated the allegations that Diddy had a hand in Tupac’s murder.

“I feel so threatened by the things Christian is saying on his record,” he wrote. “I’m afraid for my life, please don’t hurt me guys. I never mentioned or posted anything about puffy’s kids because KEEFE D said he killed 2Pac LOL.”

“Don’t bust no U-Turns because we ain’t forgetting s###,” Christian raps on the new song. “And to all of y’all that switched suck my dick.”

He also addresses the viral meme that stemmed from his father’s allegations. “I dare one of you n##### scream out ‘no Diddy,’” he adds before calling out the Feds for raiding the Combs’ mansions.

Rumors: Drake Is Not Happy With J. Cole

I’ve got some insider information. Things are beginning to get back to normal out here in the world, as the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud seems to settle like sand in water. Hopefully, no waves rush up to shake things around again.

But I do have a little nugget of information that may interest you all. The word on the street is that Drake is upset with J. Cole. As you already know, Drake and J. Cole were on tour together and doing very well—”big as the Super Bowl” well. They also recorded songs together and were doing great. I mean, seriously, the music they were producing was groundbreaking in that it helped both of them in different aspects of their careers.

However, when that whole fiasco popped off between Drake, Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole, I’m being told there was some expectation of loyalty to Drake. Basically, he expected J. Cole to side with him in the feud.

This is why you hear Drake mention Cole so much in these diss songs toward Kendrick Lamar. “I don’t care what Cole think/That Dot s### was weak as f###,” Drake said on “Push-Ups.” What he may have underestimated was the friendship that Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole have. K. Dot hinted at this when he said, “Did Cole foul, I don’t know why you still pretending” on “Not Like Us.”

We told you before, ScHoolboy Q allegedly tipped J. Cole off to get out of the way in this beef. And J. Cole promptly got out of the way, apologized and has been in perfect peace ever since. Drake, looking for validation or support, really thought that J. Cole should’ve gotten involved more actively, my sources are saying. (By the way, too many of you stole that from us and didn’t give credit. We see you.)

Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole go way back and were rumored to be working on a joint album some time ago. From what I understand, they still talk very privately, and even share the music they are working on together. So we may not be getting an album anytime soon, but we certainly know that they are in communication outside of what is made public.

Where does this leave J. Cole and Drake? That part I don’t know. I would imagine the relationship is strained, but since it didn’t end, I bet it can be saved. But you never know. This is a pretty life-changing experience for these guys.

By the way, the word on the street is that Drake canceled his Oakland, California show.

Kanye West’s Ex Julia Fox Wasn’t Having Sex With Him—Says She’s 2.5 Years Celibate

Kanye West‘s ex-girlfriend Julia Fox wasn’t having sex with the rapper, which might have contributed to their decision to stop seeing each other. Fox made the reveal in a recent comment on social media in which she claimed she’s been celibate for more than two years.

“2.5 years of celibacy and never been better tbh,” she wrote. Her comment was in response to a TikTok post about a new Bumble ad claiming celibacy’s not the answer, which many women apparently found offensive. Her decision follows a stint as a dominatrix in which she was paid hundreds of dollars to dominate men.

West reportedly wanted to be one of them. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in January 2023, Cohen asked the Uncut Gems actress if she was ever “Kanye’s dominatrix,” to which she said no. But she added, “I think he would have liked that, but it just never got there.” She also pointed out she and West were only together for a “minute” and that he probably didn’t even know her entire name.

Fox and West started dating in early January 2022 and it was over by February of that year. In an article published by The Cut shortly after the breakup was announced, Fox indicated West’s schedule wasn’t sustainable for her.

“When I’m with Ye… but even when I’m with my son, it’s also very difficult,” Fox said. “It feels like you’re just going with the flow, but the flow is very hectic if that makes sense. It’s a lot of last-minute decisions or deciding to go somewhere at the last minute and activating when needed.”

Fox also revealed she was gobsmacked by Kanye West’s level of fame and grappled with the concept of celebrity.

“I’ve never been operating at the level that Ye is,” she continued. “I never wanted to be super-mega-famous. It’s a life-ender for some celebrities. They become reclusive and paranoid and hide. I refuse to not live authentically.”

Best In The Bay: Bay Area Hip Hop Archives Announces 2024 Inductees

The Bay Area Hip Hop Archives has announced its 2024 Class of Inductees. Described as a “cultural repository for Bay Area Hip Hop artists, activists and educators who’ve made a 20 year or more significant contribution to the community and world via Hip Hop culture,” the Oakland-based organization takes great care when selecting each inductee.

“We have The Council, who are a group of OGs from the Bay Area artist community that helps guide the decisions of inductees,” Jahi, curator/founder of the Bay Area Archives, tells AllHipHop. “Also, I do make personal choices of under-seen, under-valued and under-appreciated folks in our culture and community, who deserve to be preserved.”

This year’s class includes:

Danyel Smith – an Oakland native, award-winning journalist and host of Black Girl Songbook, who is one of the most prolific music writers of our time.

Gentleman of Production – a legendary dance group from Oakland.

KPOO 89.5 FM – a Black owned, community radio station in San Francisco.

Ant Banks– an Oakland Hip Hop pioneer, rapper and legendary producer.

Silk-E– a generational talent as a rapper, singer, and live performer.

Rocky Rivera– a veteran rapper, journalist and author from San Francisco.

Malik Seneferu– an award-winning, self taught painter, muralist, and illustrator.

Karen Seneferu– an illustrious visual artist, educator and revolutionary artist.

Jahi easily points out what they all have in common, saying, “They all have over 20 years or more of receipts of active participation of Hip-Hop culture in their own ways from murals, to writings, to songs, to providing platforms for voices to speak truth to power. They all have deep roots in the Bay Area. And, they all have incredible artifacts to go with their rich, historical narratives.”

Over the next three to five years, each inductee will build their own “Special Collection” of interviews, artifacts and other ephemera as a preservation plan for future generations, creating a place for people to appreciate the contributions from Bay Area creatives.

“It’s one of many ways to ensure that 50 years from now we are not erased,” Jahi says. “Our contributions to the culture will have a chance to inspire future generations and when you want to learn about the contributions of these culture keepers, you get to hear it from them as a primary source, which I think is vital. If you think about ancient times when people excavated old cities looking for life, it’s normally the cultural production of the people that gives clues on what the city was like. This is the work.”

On a persona level, Jahi believes the Bay Area Hip Hop Archives is integral to preserving Hip-Hop culture—and not necessarily just in the Bay Area.

“It’s important to me to activate and continue the Bay Area Hip Hop Archives, even in inches and increments because it’s about legacy,” he says.” It matters to me that these culture keepers are preserved, and that we didn’t have to wait for anyone’s permission or funding to start. It’s important to me because the way culture moves forward is by preserving it. It’s important to me because 50 years from now I want to know that my contribution to the culture and community can be seen to inspire the next eight generations forward.”
