Stockton Mass Shooting Gets First Break With Video Evidence After Two Months

Stockton cops finally caught their first real break in the birthday party mass shooting that’s haunted the city for over two months.

The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office dropped surveillance images Saturday showing two light-colored vehicles they believe carried the shooters who killed four people at a child’s birthday party on November 29th.

The surveillance pictures show two sedans that investigators believe transported the shooters to and from the scene. The vehicle images represent the first concrete evidence shared publicly since the shooting happened.

The release marks the first major development since the investigation started going nowhere fast.

“Detectives have been working diligently to identify and locate the suspects responsible,” the sheriff’s office posted on social media, asking anyone who recognizes the vehicles to come forward immediately.

The breakthrough comes after weeks of dead ends in a case that shook Stockton to its core. Gunmen fired at least 50 rounds from five different weapons into a 2-year-old’s birthday celebration at the Monkey Space event hall, killing three children and one adult while wounding 13 others.

The shooting targeted local rappers MBNel and Fly Boy Dougie, who were attending the party for rapper NanoMB’s daughter, according to multiple sources close to the investigation. MBNel broke his silence last month with a heartfelt Instagram statement mourning the victims.

“My deepest condolences to the families who had to bury their children, and to the innocent lives lost,” he wrote. “What happened in Stockton has left families carrying an unimaginable loss.”

The rapper emphasized respect for the grieving families, adding: “This is about the families, and no one else. Out of respect, I am choosing to move quietly and intentionally. I will not be speaking on details or speculation.”

Fly Boy Dougie, real name Billy Williams, got arrested for parole violations after attending the party. The documented Flyboy gang member admitted to violating his parole in court and received 180 days in jail. Judge Katy Jacot revoked and reinstated his parole during a December hearing.

NanoMB, whose government name is Luciano Guerrero, faced even harsher consequences. The 22-year-old father who threw the birthday party for his daughter got denied bail after his arrest for parole violations.

Authorities identified him as an active member of both Asian Boyz and Muddy Boyz gangs. The party was supposed to celebrate Guerrero’s 2-year-old daughter’s birthday when multiple shooters opened fire just before 6 P.M.

The attack started inside the banquet hall and continued outside, according to Sheriff Patrick Withrow.

Victims killed included Maya Lupian, 8; Journey Rose Reotutar Guerrero, 8; Amari Peterson, 14; and Susano Archuleta, 21. Amari’s father, Patrick Peterson, described the horrific moment he found his son shot in the chest and tried giving him CPR.

“He had one bullet wound right above the heart,” Peterson told ABC affiliate KXTV. “It’s something that a father should never have to go through.”

The investigation stalled for weeks with no arrests or suspect descriptions released. Authorities described the shooting as a “targeted attack” but refused to discuss motives or provide details about the ongoing probe.

A massive $130,000 reward is being offered for information leading to arrests and prosecutions in the case. The reward money comes from multiple sources working together to solve the deadly shooting.

Philadelphia woman goes to hotpot for the very first time. She didn’t expect it to be like that: ‘I JUST SCREAMED’

In a TikTok video likely to be familiar to hotpot enthusiasts everywhere, Mimi (@mimifrac) held up a very much alive, wriggling shrimp next to the roiling, seasoned pot. Her expression was a perfect mix of surprise and horror. “POV: your first time at hotpot and you didn’t know the shrimp would be alive,” reads the on-screen caption. It is a sentiment that’s resonating with viewers who thought their seafood would (or at least should) arrive somewhat… subdued.

Filmed from Kungfu Hotpot in Philly’s Chinatown area, the short clip shows her picking up a live shrimp, as would be customary at these establishments, and, frankly, the shrimp is probably upset that it will be cooked momentarily.

The comments section was littered with people who believe this practice is inhumane.

“I will never understand why people think it’s okay to cook seafood alive,” they said. “We don’t do that to any other animal. People say it tastes better but bro there’s no way that killing them 30 seconds in advance is gonna ruin the flavor.”

What Is a Hotpot?

Hotpot’s origins are long debated. Some gastro-scholars credit Mongol warriors who allegedly cooked meat in their helmets over campfires more than 1,000 years ago. Others point to boatmen along the Yangtze and Jialing rivers around Chongqing. They developed it as a cheap and efficient cooking method.

Chinese poet Zuo Si referenced Sichuan hotpot as far back as the third century CE in his “Rhapsody of the Three Capitals.”

The first hotpots in the United States arrived in the country’s first Chinatowns, in San Francisco and New York City, through community associations and home gatherings. From the Gold Rush era onward, Cantonese immigrants almost certainly ate versions of hotpot (or da bin lo in Cantonese), particularly during winter festivals.

Cecilia Chiang made Mongolian Fire Pot (a classic Northern-style of hotpot) a more luxurious experience in the early 1960s. The Mandarin opened in 1961 in San Francisco and moved into Ghirardelli Square in 1968. It closed in 2006, but not before inspiring hundreds of hotpot restaurants across the United States.

As in Mimi’s TikTok clip, mala hotpot usually includes a meat of some kind. The meat is accompanied by a boiling pot of Sichuan peppercorns, dried chilis, and beef tallow. But it can also have fermented bean paste (Pixian doubanjiang), fermented black beans, garlic, ginger, star anise, and cinnamon.

So those fresh shrimp in her bowl will end up incredibly flavorful and spicy.

But Sometimes the Shrimp Wins

In 2024, Yahoo! reported that a woman at a Chinese hotpot restaurant tried to cook a live mantis shrimp by picking it up by its antenna. This was a mistake. Mantis shrimp are nicknamed “thumb splitters” due to their powerful club-shaped appendages, which they use to attack.

You can probably guess what happens. The crustacean fought back, latching onto the woman’s wrist with one appendage and piercing her left finger when she tried to pull it off.

AllHipHop reached out to Mimi via TikTok direct message and comment, and Kungfu Hotpot by phone. This story will be updated upon response.

MO3 Murder Case Delayed So Yella Beezy Can Mourn Dead Mom

Yella Beezy‘s capital murder trial got pushed back to August 24 after the Dallas rapper’s mother died earlier this month. Yella Beezy was too sad to attend his January 16 pretrial hearing because he was dealing with his mom’s death.

His lawyers told the court they needed more time to handle both the family tragedy and what they’re calling an evidence overload from prosecutors. Judge Chika Anyiam granted the postponement motion filed by defense attorneys John Gussio and Toby Shook on January 12.

The trial was originally set to start on February 2.

Yella Beezy faces capital murder charges for allegedly hiring Kewon White and Devin Maurice Brown to kill fellow Dallas rapper MO3 back in November 2020. Prosecutors say Yella Beezy paid the two men to gun down MO3 on Interstate 35E during rush hour traffic.

The defense team says they’re drowning in discovery materials. Court filings show prosecutors dumped over 16 terabytes of digital evidence on Yella Beezy’s lawyers. That includes surveillance footage, phone records, jail calls, and video files from 18-wheelers that captured the highway chase.

“Much of the discovery has no relation to ]Yella Beezy],” his attorney wrote in the motion. “This discovery isn’t material to the outcome of the case. Nor has it revealed any new or relevant facts about the case.”

The filing continues: “There’re audit files, jail calls, and many other files that aren’t relevant to the case. There’re video files where many minutes pass and nothing happens. There’re numerous video files and other data showing or describing the same event that are duplicative.”

Yella Beezy posted an emotional tribute to his mother on Instagram. He shared photos and videos of them together through the years.

“Kim Baby! where do I start? My Mama, My Sister, My Best Friend, My World, My Everything…. I’m so empty right now I cant even explain,” he wrote. “I wouldn’t wish this pain on my worst enemy…. My BaccBone, My life…. How I’m supposed to live without you?”

The rapper has been on house arrest with electronic monitoring since posting $750,000 bond in March 2025. His bond was originally set at $2 million, then reduced.

White and Brown also face capital murder charges in the same case. White’s trial got moved from February 2 to August 24, the same date as Yella Beezy’s new trial.

If convicted of capital murder, Yella Beezy, White and Brown each face life in prison without parole or the death penalty. Both sides will meet again next week to finalize the new August trial schedule and handle remaining pretrial motions.

50 Cent Teams With Jadakiss For DMX Origin Story Podcast

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson just dropped major news about his next podcast project. The G-Unit boss is teaming up with Narratively, Jadakiss and iHeartPodcasts to tell DMX‘s complete origin story.

Look Thru My Eyes: Becoming DMX will launch later this year with Kiss as the host. The series digs deep into Earl Simmons’ life before he became the legendary Dark Man X.

Jadakiss brings serious credibility to this project. The Yonkers native shared the same streets as DMX and witnessed his rise firsthand. Their connection runs deeper than most people realize.

“One day, he just came around because he would always come around the block randomly, and one day it was like, ‘Yo, X is looking for y’all,'” Jadakiss told BET in 2022. “He brought [me and Sheek Louch] to Ruff Ryders.”

DMX personally introduced Jadakiss and The LOX to Ruff Ryders co-founder Joaquin “Waah” Dean. No auditions needed. X simply told them, “I’m signing and they signing with me.”

That unconditional love defined their relationship. DMX saw potential in young Jadakiss and made sure he got his shot. The gesture changed everything for The LOX.

View this post on Instagram

Jadakiss has been building his media presence through the Joe & Jada podcast with Fat Joe. The show launched in May 2025 and quickly became a cultural phenomenon. Netflix just picked up the podcast for January 26, 2026.

The timing makes perfect sense for Jadakiss to host the DMX series. He’s proven he can handle long-form storytelling while keeping things authentic. His Ruff Ryders history adds layers most hosts couldn’t provide.

50 Cent knows how to pick winning podcast concepts. His Surviving El Chapo: The Twins Who Brought Down a Drug Lord became a breakout hit for iHeartPodcasts. The success proved that G-Unit Audio understands what audiences want.

“DMX’s story is bigger than the music, it’s about survival, faith, pain, and purpose,” 50 Cent told Deadline. “Look Thru My Eyes: Becoming DMX gives people a chance to understand where X came from, before the fame, through the voices of the people who were really there.”

Executive producers Bruce Miller and Justin Baez bring personal connections to the project. Both Yonkers natives knew DMX and his family personally. Their lived experience grounds the series in an authentic community perspective.

The series promises intimate interviews with family members, childhood friends, collaborators, rivals, and cultural icons. These firsthand accounts will reveal DMX’s formative years in unprecedented detail.

DMX died at age 50 on April 9, 2021, from a cocaine-induced heart attack. His legacy continues to inspire new generations of Hip-Hop artists and fans worldwide.

As for 50 Cent, his empire keeps expanding. He’s also developing the true-crime series Gang Wars, managing multiple Power Universe projects for Starz and just revealed a new documentary on power lawyer, Drew Findling.

Look Thru My Eyes: Becoming DMX will be available everywhere podcasts are heard when it launches later this year.

Latto Claps Back at Fivio Foreign Over Viral Claims

Latto shut down Fivio Foreign after the Brooklyn rapper dragged her into his messy beef with 21 Savage this week.

The Atlanta rapper didn’t hold back when Fivio trolled 21 Savage with a video of the pair rapping together as part of the 2020 XXL Freshman Cypher. Latto quickly fired back with a direct response that cut straight to the point.

“Spoiler alert: it was strictly to go viral he never f#####. top 5 freshman freestyles 6yrs later tho clock it,” Latto wrote on her Instagram Story.

Her clap back came after Fivio resurfaced the old clip while trading shots with 21 Savage over street credibility. The timing wasn’t lost on fans who saw it as a desperate move to drag Latto into drama that had nothing to do with her.

The beef between Fivio Foreign and 21 Savage started heating up Thursday when Fivio appeared on DJ Akademiks’ Off The Record podcast. During the interview, Fivio questioned 21 Savage’s street reputation and dismissed his recent “f### the streets” movement.

“What’s making you think that Savage is a street n####? He said f### the streets,” Fivio said during the podcast. “Street n#### where? In Atlanta? Them n##### is all cap. You understand? Trust me. It’s all show.”

21 Savage caught wind of Fivio’s comments and responded with fire on Instagram Live. The Atlanta rapper didn’t appreciate having his name in Fivio’s mouth and made that crystal clear.

“Fivio Foreign, shut your b#### ass up, n####,” 21 snapped during his live session. “Stop saying my muthafuckin name. Don’t think ’cause Savage on some positive s###, that it’s ‘Oh, let’s talk about Savage every day.’ Nah, this ain’t that. Y’all n##### will still get y’all ass whooped. Straight up.”

The tension escalated on Friday when Fivio doubled down on his position. He posted on his Instagram Story with no intention of backing down from the Atlanta rapper.

“I said what I said,” Fivio wrote. “No back & forth w a n#### who said F the streets. N##### a b#### e######### p#### @21savage .”

The whole situation traces back to December when 21 Savage launched his anti-street movement on social media. He posted on X, urging rappers to move away from street life and focus on positive changes.

“F### the streets we ain’t get s### but trauma from that s###,” 21 posted while encouraging Young Thug and Gunna to end their ongoing feud.

Some rappers like Young Thug and G Herbo supported 21’s message about leaving street life behind. Fivio’s decision to bring Latto into the mix backfired when she made it clear she wasn’t playing games.

The Atlanta rapper has been romantically linked to 21 Savage, which makes Fivio’s move even more questionable.

Bad Bunny Plans Dress For Super Bowl Show & MAGA Snowflakes Can’t Stop Crying

Bad Bunny might wear a dress during his Super Bowl LX halftime show and the MAGA world just lost its collective mind at the thought of such a stunt.

Multiple sources close to the Puerto Rican superstar’s glam team say he’s planning something that’ll make conservatives’ heads explode.

One stylist said that he “is 100 percent going to wear a dress. A political thunderbolt disguised as couture.” Another insider said that the NFL “has no idea what’s coming.” They added, “He’s not playing it safe. The dress is already being sewn.”

The alleged costume choice aims to honor queer icons, according to these anonymous sources. Bad Bunny’s team hasn’t confirmed anything yet. Neither has the NFL. But that didn’t stop the internet from catching fire.

Conservative social media users went nuclear within hours. Former MLB pitcher John Rocker jumped into the controversy with both feet.

“There’s no reason that football’s biggest evening of the year needs to be ruined by a crossdressing singer who hardly speaks English. F### BAD BUNNY,” he posted on social media.

Reverend Jordan Wells, a conservative pastor, added his voice to the criticism. “This is exactly why I’m skipping the game this year. The NFL went full woke—picked a guy who’s turning the biggest football stage into a pride parade.”

Another MAGA supporter declared The dress rumors add fuel to an already blazing fire.

MAGA supporters have been raging about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl selection since September 2025. Donald Trump himself called the choice “absolutely ridiculous” during a Newsmax interview.

Bad Bunny earned their hatred long before any dress talk. He raps primarily in Spanish and endorsed Trump’s opponent in 2024. The reggaeton star later announced he wouldn’t tour the U.S. to protect his Hispanic fans from ICE raids.

Trump advisor Corey Lewandowski previously threatened ICE activity at the halftime show. Homeland Security head Kristi Noem said her agents will be “all over” the February 8 game at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Green Day will open the Super Bowl ceremony, adding another layer of political tension.

The punk rockers have been leading “F### Donald Trump” chants at recent shows. They changed their “American Idiot” lyrics from “redneck agenda” to “MAGA agenda” during performances.

Billie Joe Armstrong told audiences this week, “This song is anti-fascism. This song is anti-war. We stand up for our brothers and sisters in Minnesota.” He was referencing anti-ICE protests happening across the state.

Bad Bunny’s team remains tight-lipped about specific performance details.

NLE Choppa Accused Of Leaving Daughter Bleeding At Studio, Rapper Hits Back

NLE Choppa found himself defending his parenting again after fresh accusations from Mariah, the mother of his daughter Clover. The Memphis rapper’s latest drama centers on claims his child came home bleeding after being left unattended at his studio.

Mariah didn’t hold back when she dropped her most serious allegation yet. She claims her daughter returned from NLE’s care with vaginal bleeding that lasted two days.

The incident allegedly happened while the child was left alone at the recording studio.

“All I know is my baby was left unattended in the studio and came home bleeding vaginally and bled for two days,” Mariah wrote in a social media post. She added that someone at the studio knew about the situation but waited until the child got home to tell her.

The accusations come after months of custody battles between NLE and multiple baby mothers. Marissa Da’Nae, who shares son ChoZen with the rapper, previously accused him of making their one-year-old fast and starving the child.

NLE Choppa fired back hard against the bleeding allegations. He claimed the incident was caused by his daughter doing splits, which he called normal behavior for young girls. The rapper also said it’s natural for children to feel uncomfortable discussing private areas with their fathers.

“Bleeding and small drops of blood isn’t the same,” NLE wrote on social media. “It was caused by Clover doing splits being a girl doing what girls do!”

The “Shotta Flow” artist insisted CPS investigated the claims and found nothing wrong. He said the case worker laughed at how ridiculous the report sounded when she called.

NLE Choppa claimed authorities saw no issues with his relationship with Clover during their visit. Mariah wasn’t buying his explanations.

“That’s why a lot of these abused children come up dead! All the signs could be there AND evidence, they won’t do nothing about it, just be looking stupid when a mf burying their kid. Same as DV cases, a woman could be getting tf beaten out of her, get the laws involved and nothing is done about it, now she’s dead because no one listened. I’m gone give you hell about my child every chance I get,” Mariah said.

She also shared alleged text message receipts showing her attempts to get NLE more involved in their daughter’s life. The messages appeared to show missed court-ordered pickup dates and communication breakdowns.

“Nothing I say is ever made up or a lie. I ALWAYS have receipts to back up anything I say,” Mariah posted on Instagram Stories.

The drama escalated when NLE Choppa reunited with Clover after four months apart. He claimed Mariah violated court orders by interfering with custody arrangements.

A judge reportedly ruled in his favor during a contempt hearing. NLE’s mother, Angela Potts, jumped into the fight, posting videos of her son caring for his children.

She defended him against what she called “slander” from the baby mothers. The grandmother shared clips showing NLE feeding and playing with his kids. But the bleeding allegations add another layer to NLE’s ongoing custody issues.

Court documents from September show Marissa Da’Nae accused him of emotional and physical abuse during their relationship. She also claimed he caused their son to need emergency room treatment due to neglect.

NLE has consistently denied all abuse and neglect claims from both women. He maintains he’s a good father who wants to be involved in his children’s lives.

The rapper says the accusations stem from bitter ex-partners trying to financially hurt him.

Nicki Minaj Bathroom Controversy Blows Up On Social Media

Yvette Nicole Brown just dropped a bombshell that has some people absolutely stunned. The veteran actress accused Nicki Minaj of something so “petty” it’s hard to believe.

Brown claims the rapper banned wardrobe team members from using any bathroom in her house during fittings. Not even the guest bathroom near the front door.

“I know someone who worked on the wardrobe team that did a fitting at her house,” Brown wrote on Threads. “She wouldn’t allow anyone to use the bathroom. Not even the guest bathroom near the front door. Just decided that they didn’t deserve to relieve themselves on her sacred premises. #Trash”

The timing couldn’t be worse for Nicki Minaj. Brown’s accusation came shortly after actress Ruby Rose exposed the rapper’s alleged behavior during the tour. Rose claimed Minaj fired staff members after every show during their 2012 tour together.

“Her ego is so outsized she HAD to fire someone after every show,” Rose wrote. “Publicly, because she is 3 ft maga.”

Rose detailed how Minaj allegedly fired security on night one for not carrying her properly off stage. The third night got even messier when birthday video messages revealed her real age to the team.

But Brown’s bathroom story hits different. Denying basic human needs crosses a line that has fans questioning everything about their former queen. This drama exploded after Minaj’s ugly attack on journalist Don Lemon.

The rapper called him Don “C### Suckin’“ Lemon for covering an anti-ICE protest at a Minnesota church. She later doubled down, admitting she used the slur intentionally for media attention.

“I purposely wrote that word because I knew y’all would collectively ignore his despicable behavior,” Minaj posted.

Don Lemon had documented the church protest where activists opposed ICE operations. Federal prosecutors tried charging Lemon, but a magistrate judge rejected the effort Thursday. Three protesters face charges under various federal acts.

Nicki Minaj’s MAGA transformation has shocked longtime supporters. The Trinidad-born rapper now openly supports Donald Trump, JD Vance and Turning Point USA’s Erika Kirk. She appeared onstage with Kirk at AmericaFest in December.

A Change.org petition demanding Minaj’s deportation has collected over 100,000 signatures. Critics point out the irony of an immigrant supporting anti-immigration policies.

Yvette Nicole Brown built her career on shows like “Community” and “The West Wing.” Her reputation for professionalism makes the bathroom accusation even more damaging.

The bathroom story reveals something deeper than political disagreements. It shows alleged contempt for working people trying to do their jobs.

Nicki Minaj hasn’t responded to Brown’s accusation or Rose’s tour allegations.

Judge Rejects Pras Michel’s Bid to Avoid Prison Time, But Gives Rapper Small Break

Pras Michel just got some mixed news from a federal judge who basically said “nah” to keeping him free during his appeal, but threw him a bone with extra time.

The Fugees’ founding member lost his bid Thursday to stay out of prison while fighting his 14-year sentence for foreign influence crimes.

U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly wasn’t buying what his lawyers were selling about substantial legal questions that could overturn everything. But here’s the thing that might save Pras some stress.

The judge moved his prison report date from next week to March 30. That gives him two whole months to work his appeal magic with the D.C. Circuit Court.

Kollar-Kotelly kept it real about why she denied the main request. She said Michel’s appeal just rehashes the same arguments she already shot down when his team asked for acquittal and a new trial. The evidence against him was too strong and too much to ignore.

The government didn’t even fight the delay request. They told the court they were cool with giving Michel time to ask the appeals court for the same bail relief. Smart move since it shows they’re not just trying to rush him into a cell.

Michel needed to prove his appeal raised a “substantial” question that could lead to reversal, a new trial, or a reduced sentence. The judge wasn’t convinced any of his legal arguments would change the outcome across all 10 counts that carry prison time.

The legal drama began in 2019, when federal prosecutors brought serious charges against Michel.

They said he received more than $100 million from Malaysian financier Jho Low, the mastermind behind the massive 1MDB embezzlement scandal that rocked the financial world. The prosecution painted a picture of Michel helping Low funnel dirty money through straw donors into Barack Obama’s 2012 campaign.

They also accused him of taking tens of millions more to lobby the Trump administration to drop Low’s criminal investigation and push for Chinese dissident Guo Wengui’s extradition.

Michel’s April 2023 trial was straight Hollywood drama. Leonardo DiCaprio took the witness stand to testify about his party-filled relationship with Low, who financed DiCaprio’s#### movie The Wolf of Wall Street.

Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions also testified about the lobbying efforts.

The jury didn’t buy Michel’s defense and convicted him on all 10 federal counts. The charges included conspiracy to defraud the United States, concealment of material facts, falsification of records, witness tampering, and acting as an unregistered foreign agent.

Judge Kollar-Kotelly sentenced Michel to 168 months in prison last November, plus ordered him to forfeit $64 million allegedly connected to the scheme. The 14-year sentence runs concurrently across all counts, meaning he serves them at the same time rather than back-to-back.

Michel filed his notice of appeal on December 4 and his legal team is asking the D.C. Circuit to either vacate the verdict in its entirety or grant a new trial.

They’re also expected to ask that same appeals court to let him stay free while the process plays out.

Atlanta Rappers’ Love For Wings Sparks New Georgia Legislation

Georgia lawmakers want to make lemon pepper wings the state’s official chicken wing flavor. The move comes straight from Atlanta’s hip-hop culture that made these wings famous worldwide.

State Rep. Eric Bell introduced House Bill 1013 last week. The Democrat from Jonesboro says Atlanta rappers turned lemon pepper wings into a cultural phenomenon that deserves official recognition.

“Lemon pepper wings have become a staple of southern cuisine in Atlanta and across Georgia,” Bell said in a statement. “From ‘Lemon Pepper Lou’ at Magic City to lyrics in billboard hits from Gucci Mane and Rick Ross, lemon pepper wings have been central to many of the moments and individuals who have shaped this city and state.”

The bill has bipartisan support from five co-sponsors. Bell says the flavor’s popularity made it easy to find common ground at the Capitol.

Rick Ross built an empire around his love for lemon pepper wings. The Miami rapper owns more than 25 Wingstop franchises nationwide. He started buying locations in 2011 after years of eating at the chain.

“I just love Wingstop,” Ross told Forbes in 2014. “You know they got my favorite lemon pepper wings in the world, so it’s just a natural attraction.”

Ross makes millions from his wing business. His Wingstop profits hit seven figures annually, according to Forbes estimates. The rapper constantly promotes the brand in his music and on social media.

“When I hit a lick it I bought a Wingstop,” Ross rapped on “Trap Boomin.” “I sprinkle lemon pepper in that re-up.”

Atlanta’s Hip-Hop scene made lemon pepper wings a national obsession. Gucci Mane referenced them in his hit “Lemonade” with the line “Lemon pepper wings and a freeze cup.” The song helped spread Atlanta wing culture across America.

Magic City strip club became legendary for serving lemon-pepper wings alongside its entertainment.

NBA player Lou Williams got nicknamed “Lemon Pepper Lou” after getting caught visiting the club during COVID restrictions. He claimed he only went for the wings.

“People all over the country know lemon pepper wings are a Georgia thing,” Bell explained. “Whether you’re in Arizona, New York or California, when you hear lemon pepper wings, you think of Atlanta.”

The legislation joins Georgia’s long list of official state symbols. The state already recognizes the peach as its official fruit, butter pecan as its official ice cream flavor and Brunswick stew as an official prepared food.

Bell describes lemon pepper wings as more than just a menu item. He calls them a shared experience that cuts across backgrounds and generations in Georgia.

“It’s literally a dinner-table conversation,” Bell said. “Sleepovers after basketball games, family dinners, Super Bowl parties. We all have memories of eating lemon pepper wings, arguing about flats or drums, ranch or blue cheese.”

The bill could boost tourism and local businesses across Georgia. Bell says the designation might encourage visitors to seek out wing spots statewide and spark friendly competition over who serves the best lemon pepper wings.

Some critics question whether symbolic legislation belongs in the General Assembly. Bell pushed back by noting Georgia’s extensive list of official state symbols.

“If people don’t think this belongs, then they’d have to say the same about the state song, the state fruit or any of our other symbols,” he said. “We’re working on serious issues, too. But we also need unity.”

Rapper Ludacris Chooses Military Over MAGA At Florida Event

Ludacris just gave Hip-Hop fans something to celebrate after weeks of controversy. The Atlanta rapper will headline THE PLAYERS Military Appreciation Day concert on March 10 at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

This announcement comes as sweet relief for some fans who watched Ludacris get dragged through social media hell last week.

His name briefly appeared on Kid Rock’s “Rock the Country” festival lineup alongside MAGA-supporting artists like Jason Aldean and Blake Shelton.

Fans went nuclear when they saw Ludacris listed for the conservative-leaning tour. Comments flooded his Instagram, calling him a “sellout” and threatening to remove his music from playlists.

One fan wrote, “WHY are you playing at a MAGA festival that has Kid Rock as a headliner?”

The backlash hit hard and fast. Ludacris’s manager, Chaka Zulu, quickly confirmed to AllHipHop that his client would not perform at Rock the Country. Zulu called it a “mix-up” and said “lines got crossed” regarding the booking.

Now, Ludacris gets to flip the script completely. Instead of performing for Kid Rock’s crowd, he’ll honor America’s military heroes at one of golf’s most iconic venues.

THE PLAYERS Executive Director Lee Smith expressed excitement about the booking in Thursday’s announcement.

“Military Appreciation Day means a lot to us and welcoming Ludacris to one of the most iconic stages in golf is a pretty special way to celebrate,” Smith stated in the news release.

The timing couldn’t be better for Ludacris to rebuild his reputation. Hip-Hop artists have faced intense scrutiny lately for appearing at Trump-related events. Snoop Dogg and Nelly both caught heat for performing at the inauguration festivities just days ago.

Ludacris seems determined to distance himself from that controversy. His quote about the military performance shows genuine enthusiasm: “I’m ready to stand up on the iconic 17th hole—the stage will be epic and the energy will be electric.”

The three-time Grammy winner will perform after the Military Appreciation Day ceremony begins at 4:30 P.M. Admission comes free with Tuesday tournament tickets, making it accessible for military families and golf fans alike.

Fans who criticized Ludacris last week are already showing support for the military performance. Social media comments praise him for “making the right choice” and “standing on business” by choosing honor over a controversial paycheck.

“A player fit for the players,” one user wrote. Another said, “Finally not a country singer.”

Game Slams “Disgusting” Threesome Rumors With “Basketball Wives” Mom & Daughter

The Game finally addressed the elephant in the room during his first face-to-face sit-down with Shaniece Hairston and her mother, Evelyn Lozada.

The Compton rapper shut down viral threesome rumors during a new episode of the Drop the Lo podcast. Shaniece didn’t waste time getting straight to the point with her baby daddy.

“Did you ever have sex with my mom?” Hairston asked The Game during the tense conversation. “And did we have a threesome?”

The 46-year-old rapper immediately called the speculation “absurd” and “f###### disgusting.” He made it clear that type of energy doesn’t exist between him and the 50-year-old Basketball Wives star.

“Never have I ever,” The Game said about sleeping with Lozada. “We don’t even give each other that type of energy or those types of vibes.”

View this post on Instagram

The rapper explained that their relationship has remained strictly family-focused since welcoming their two-year-old son, Blaze Taylor, in September 2024. He described their dynamic as “a dope-ass gangster little family” without any romantic complications.

Lozada found the whole situation amusing rather than offensive. The reality star said she thought the rumors were “so funny” because no one bothered to address them directly.

“When somebody is going in on you and they don’t even know who the f### you are, never met you,” Lozada explained. “Somebody not responding to you is like the ultimate response.”

The Game agreed that most internet chatter about their family deserves zero attention. He said some rumors are “so off the wall” that responding only gives them more life.

“You literally have to sip your tea and keep on going with your day,” The Game said. “It’s so disturbing that someone would even drum that up and actually try to throw that into a public forum.”

The podcast appearance marked the first time all three sat down together publicly. Tensions had been brewing since Shaniece’s pregnancy announcement sparked accusations that she “betrayed” The Game’s ex-fiancée, Tiffney Cambridge.

Cambridge dated The Game for eight years and appeared on VH1’s Marrying the Game from 2012 to 2014. They share 18-year-old son, King Justice Taylor, and 15-year-old daughter, California “Cali” Dream, before calling off their engagement in 2015.

Online critics claimed Lozada and Cambridge were close friends, making Shaniece’s relationship with The Game a betrayal. Both women denied having any real friendship beyond industry acquaintances.

The Game clarified that Hollywood relationships often get misunderstood by outsiders. He explained that celebrities attend each other’s events for business reasons rather than personal friendships.

The rapper also addressed another disturbing rumor about inappropriate contact with Shaniece as a child. He firmly denied claims that she ever sat on his lap when she was 12.

“I’m not f###### Santa Claus,” The Game said. “I’m not inappropriate with children ever, like even my own nieces. As they get older, you have to respect your unclehood.”

Zeethewizard Killed By Friend During New Year’s Shootout

Dameian Roberson stood directly behind Zeethewizard when he pulled the trigger and killed the aspiring rapper, and security cameras captured the shooting.

The 24-year-old wasn’t some random enemy or rival crew member. Roberson rolled with Zeethewizard’s entourage that night. He walked out of Pink House Dallas alongside the rising rapper just after 3:30 A.M. on New Year’s Day.

Then he shot his own friend in the back of the head.

Police arrested Roberson this week on murder charges. The arrest warrant reveals surveillance footage showing the deadly incident that killed the 25-year-old.

Zeethewizard had just finished performing at the grand opening of Pink House Dallas. But what started as a New Year’s party turned into a crime scene within minutes.

The rapper left the club with three men from his crew around 3:32 A.M. Roberson was one of those three trusted associates. They immediately ran into four other men near the entrance, sparking an altercation that nobody saw coming.

Both groups backed away from each other and drew firearms. The confrontation escalated into a full shootout in the parking lot. Five people caught bullets that night, but only one died from his wounds.

Surveillance video shows Roberson holding and firing a handgun while positioned directly behind Zeethewizard. The rapper collapsed to the ground as shots rang out around them. He never saw the shot coming from someone in his own circle.

Zeethewizard fought for his life at Parkland Hospital for five days. He died on January 5, leaving behind a growing fanbase and unfinished dreams. The Dallas music community lost one of its brightest rising stars to friendly fire.

Zeethewizard had signed with Future’s record label and was gaining national attention. His reach extended far beyond North Texas as his profile continued growing. Two albums dropped in the past year alone, showcasing his prolific output and dedication to the craft.

The arrest warrant doesn’t specify whether Roberson intentionally targeted Zeethewizard or accidentally shot him while aiming at the opposing group.

That distinction could determine the final charges and potential sentence he faces.

Police haven’t revealed what sparked the initial confrontation between the two groups. The investigation remains active as detectives piece together the events leading to the fatal shooting.

Roberson remains in Dallas County jail with no bail amount set. Court records don’t indicate whether he has secured legal representation for the murder charge.

GloRilla Claps Back Over Mirror Selfie: “Delusional B*tches”

GloRilla just served her haters a reality check they won’t forget. The Memphis rapper dropped a mirror video on social media that had people talking for all the wrong reasons.

Critics came for her appearance during what she called a “no lash moment.” She looked comfortable in matching gray sweats with braided hair, but trolls started theories about cosmetic procedures. GloRilla wasn’t having any of it. She fired back on X with a message that shut down the noise completely.

“I put you delusional b###### ina frenzy every time I post,” she wrote.

The tweet exploded across social platforms. Fans praised her for not backing down from keyboard warriors. Critics kept coming with their opinions anyway and the rapper kept defending herself.

“So did any of you hoes get a raise for tryna figure out why a b#### look so beautiful yesterday???? Rent paid ? Anything??? Or yall really just #THAT mad dat a b#### gorgeous for free? Lemme kno ina comments,” she said.

The whole situation shows how Hip-Hop artists deal with constant scrutiny about their looks.

This isn’t GloRilla’s first rodeo with appearance critics. Last September, she called rumors about facial procedures “delusional” when people suggested she got work done. She’s been consistent about defending herself against these attacks.

Social media stays ready to tear down successful women in Hip-Hop.

GloRilla refuses to let trolls control her narrative. Her direct responses show she won’t be bullied into silence. The Memphis native has been traveling to start 2026 right.

She recently visited Tokyo and said she wants to move there. Her career keeps climbing while haters stay pressed about her success.

Hip-Hop culture has always celebrated authenticity over perfection. GloRilla embodies that spirit by staying true to herself. She posts what she wants and claps back when necessary.

Her latest response proves she’s not changing for anyone. The “Hollon” rapper keeps winning while critics stay mad about her confidence. She turns their negativity into engagement for her brand.

Trey Songz Takes On Kansas City Police Again But This Time It’s In Court

Trey Songz dropped a lawsuit this week that’s got Kansas City police scrambling for answers.

The R&B heavyweight filed papers in Jackson County Circuit Court targeting the Kansas City Police Department over a wild incident that went down five years ago. Trey wants justice for what he calls a straight-up assault disguised as an arrest.

Here’s what really happened at Arrowhead Stadium on January 24, 2021.

Trey Songz was chilling at the AFC Championship game between the Chiefs and Buffalo Bills when nearby fans started acting up. The lawsuit says these drunk attendees were heckling him hard because of his celebrity status.

Security got called three different times before cops even showed up. That’s when everything went sideways fast.

The lawsuit paints a picture that’s nothing like what police claimed back then. Trey says he was the victim, not the aggressor. Fans threatened him and became aggressive, but when security and Kansas City officers arrived, they completely ignored the real problem.

Instead of protecting him from the unruly crowd, the lawsuit claims police and security “physically assaulted, wrongfully arrested, handcuffed and detained” the singer in jail.

That’s a complete 180 from the official police narrative that had Trey Songz throwing punches first.

Video footage from that night showed a chaotic scene. Police released surveillance clips claiming Trey Songz punched an officer and put him in a headlock. But the singer’s legal team is telling a different story about who started what.

The charges tell their own tale.

Prosecutors hit the singer with trespassing, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer. But here’s the kicker… every single charge was later dismissed. That’s usually a sign that something wasn’t right with the arrest from jump.

Neverson’s lawsuit names three defendants: the Kansas City Police Department, GEHA (which operates the stadium) and Whelan Event Services. The security company was supposed to handle crowd control that night, but allegedly failed to do so.

The legal filing claims all three entities “were careless, negligent, and acted in bad faith.” That’s lawyer speak for saying they completely screwed up their responsibilities.

The lawsuit alleges Kansas City police used excessive force and violated Trey Songz’s rights. It also claims the defendants had a legal duty to protect invitees like him from aggressive fans but chose to target him instead.

Neverson says the incident damaged way more than just his body. The lawsuit claims he suffered “serious, permanent, and progressive injuries” to both his person and professional reputation.

He’s seeking compensation for medical bills, lost work, damaged reputation and lost income.

The timing of this lawsuit is interesting. Five years is a long time to wait, but civil cases have different deadlines than criminal ones. His legal team probably spent years building their case and gathering evidence.

The lawsuit demands a jury trial, which means this drama could play out in front of Kansas City residents. That’s probably not what the police department wants, especially with all the scrutiny on law enforcement these days.

Kendrick Lamar Allegedly Prepared To Ride-By Drake Again

It is widely accepted that Drake came out on the losing end of his battle with Kendrick Lamar, but the saga clearly refuses to die.

As most of you have seen, Drake continues to push his side of the conflict forward, not just musically, but legally. He previously pursued a defamation-related legal action connected to the battle, arguing that his reputation suffered permanent harm. That effort did not gain traction in court, with early motions reportedly dismissed, but Drake appears determined to keep contesting the narrative in the court of public opinion if not the courtroom itself.

At the same time, rumors continue to circulate that Drake’s next album, tentatively titled Iceman, will include fresh shots aimed at Kendrick Lamar. If true, this creates a strange contradiction. Drake is simultaneously signaling legal grievance while allegedly reigniting lyrical hostilities. Those two approaches do not exactly complement one another.

Drake and his camp remain resolute in their belief that he was treated unfairly in the battle. Most fans and critics disagree. Respectfully, I wish he would relax. If not, new rumors might give him reason to reconsider.

Word on the street is that Kendrick Lamar is not finished either. There is talk that he has a full set of unreleased records (or new ones) ready to go if Drake pushes the issue further. This lines up with reports that surfaced shortly after the battle concluded, suggesting Kendrick was prepared to keep things going indefinitely if provoked.

That said, jumping back into the fray may not benefit Kendrick’s career either. More importantly, continued public attacks would undermine Drake’s argument that he was harmed by defamatory statements. At some point, both artists would be better served by focusing on making undeniably dope music.

Some critics believe Drake has not fully recovered creatively since being knocked off balance during the battle. I do not necessarily agree. He is still capable of making great records, but the direction he chooses next matters.

One thing is certain. We will find out soon enough. Drake is expected to drop later this year. J. Cole is also looming with his own highly anticipated release. Meanwhile, NBA YoungBoy continues to dominate his lane, touring relentlessly, staying focused, and connecting directly with his audience without engaging in the noise.

Nicki Minaj Settles $500K Lawsuit Hours, Avoids Losing Her Mega-Mansion

Nicki Minaj just saved her $20 million Hidden Hills mansion by coughing up half a million dollars at the absolute last second.

The “Super Bass” rapper finally paid German security guard Thomas Weidenmuller his $503,318 judgment on Thursday afternoon. This happened just hours before Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Cindy Pánuco was set to order the forced sale of her eight-bedroom estate.

“She has satisfied the judgment,” Weidenmuller’s attorney Paul Saso told Rolling Stone. “It required us going to the one-yard line.”

Saso called it an “eleventh-hour development” when he informed Judge Pánuco about the settlement. The judge seemed relieved after months of legal drama over the unpaid debt.

“I wanted to make sure we got this right. It was a big thing. I’m glad this was resolved in a way that makes sense for all of the parties,” Judge Pánuco said from the bench.

The whole mess started back in 2019 during Minaj’s concert in Frankfurt, Germany. Weidenmuller was working security when things went sideways backstage.

According to court documents, a fan breached the barricade and climbed onstage during Minaj’s performance. The rapper got heated and blamed a female security guard for the security breach.

Minaj started “berating the female security guard while recording the exchange,” Weidenmuller testified.

When he stepped in to defend his colleague, telling Minaj that it wasn’t fair for the guard’s career to be “ruined” on social media, the situation exploded.

Minaj allegedly “threw a shoe at Weidenmuller but missed.” That’s when her husband, Kenneth Petty, jumped into the mix.

Petty “accused him of disrespecting Minaj and punched him in the face, leaving him stunned and disoriented,” according to the lawsuit. The punch was so brutal that Weidenmuller needed emergency hospitalization for 10 days.

The security guard underwent multiple reconstructive surgeries and still hasn’t fully recovered.

“I now have five plates in my jaw, and my jaw has not yet been fully reconstructed. The doctors must still insert implants into my jaw as a part of the reconstruction process,” he explained.

Doctors even “inserted donor bones from a deceased person into my mouth in order to preserve space for the future implants.” The medical bills and ongoing treatment costs piled up fast.

Weidenmuller filed his lawsuit in January 2022, originally seeking $721,000 for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering. But Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty completely ignored the case.

Their lawyers made “repeated attempts” to serve them with court papers but couldn’t make contact at their gated Calabasas community. Process servers visited multiple times without success. Eventually, attorneys had to publish the summons in a newspaper.

Because Minaj and Petty never responded, Judge Pánuco awarded Weidenmuller a default judgment in 2024. She trimmed his request down to $503,318, but the couple still refused to pay.

Court records show Minaj has an estimated net worth of at least $150 million, making her “highly capable of paying the judgment in full.” Despite this financial capacity, she initially “refused to do so despite multiple written requests for payment” – until today.

St. Louis Politicians Throw Hands: Video Shows Wild Hair-Pulling Brawl

Three St. Louis County politicians turned a September town hall meeting into straight-up reality TV drama. Angela Walton Mosley and her sister Rochelle Walton Gray went toe-to-toe with rival Shalanda Webb in a hair-pulling brawl that lasted 40 seconds.

Surveillance cameras captured every second of the September 25 throwdown at Bellefontaine Neighbors Community Center. The footage shows Webb in leopard print, facing off against the Walton sisters after their town hall presentation wrapped up.

Mosley handed her glasses to someone nearby, as if she were getting ready for business. Webb waved a pen around while talking dramatically to both sisters. Gray stepped back in her bright blue top while Mosley moved closer in all black.

Someone tried stepping between them, but Webb pushed that person aside. She pointed her pen directly at Mosley’s face. That’s when things got real.

Mosley’s left arm came forward and made contact with Webb’s upper chest area. Webb immediately pushed back and grabbed Mosley’s hair. The two politicians stumbled toward a table while throwing punches at each other.

Security guards rushed in as Gray jumped into the mix to defend her sister. Webb took several swings at Gray while multiple people tried pulling the trio apart. Hair got pulled and arms got swung before they finally separated.

Webb stumbled out of her heels while Mosley fixed her messed-up hair as the video ended. All three women walked away from the gymnasium floor looking disheveled.

The beef between these politicians goes back at least five years, according to local reports. Webb defeated Gray for a county council seat in 2020 and beat her again in 2024 when Gray tried to reclaim the position.

Webb said she attended the meeting after Mayor James Thomas Sr. invited her to update residents on county actions. She also presented Thomas with a resolution honoring the municipality’s 65th anniversary. Mosley and Gray showed up but weren’t featured speakers.

Bellefontaine Neighbors initially said they had the video footage, but no longer possessed a copy. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch made a second request this week, and the city provided it on Thursday.

The footage comes from four cameras installed in each corner of the auditorium. No audio transmission was captured during the incident.

Webb claims the video proves Mosley and Gray planned to confront her after the meeting. She said the footage demonstrates she acted solely to protect herself after being physically attacked.

Mosley and Gray filed lawsuits against Webb, claiming she used aggressive language and hostile movements toward them. Both sisters are asking for $50,000 in damages, saying they suffered emotional trauma and psychological distress.

Webb requested an order of protection against the sisters and filed criminal complaints. The Missouri Attorney General’s Office is handling the criminal investigation after the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s office recused itself.

Gray is currently running for Black Jack city council in April while facing a January 29 court date over the brawl. She’s challenging Donald Krank, who has held the Ward 1 seat since 1999.

The Walton sisters are the daughters of Elbert Walton Jr., a former state representative and disbarred lawyer who was involved in various political controversies. Their family has been staunch supporters of County Executive Sam Page, while Webb has clashed with Page since joining the council in 2020.

Political tensions between Webb and the sisters bubbled over publicly two years ago at a ceremonial event marking the demolition of Jamestown Mall. Webb objected to Mosley being listed as a speaker and approached the podium to tell the audience that Mosley had worked behind the scenes against a $6 million state allocation that helped fund the mall’s demolition.

Mosley is married to former state Rep. Jay Mosley, while Gray is married to former state Rep. Alan Gray. Their daughters, Janay and Chanel Mosley, are also Democratic politicians, with Chanel winning an election to the Missouri House in November.

Webb is married to former state Rep. Steven Webb, who resigned from the House in 2013 after being accused of misusing money donated to the Missouri Legislative Black Caucus.

Everyone involved has claimed they acted in self-defense that night. The case heads to St. Louis County Circuit Court for a hearing on the protection order Webb requested against both sisters.

Travis Scott Plans Stadium-Scale Sound For Next Album After Record-Breaking Tour

Travis Scott wants his next album to shake stadiums worldwide. The Houston rapper revealed his ambitious vision for new music during an interview with Rolling Stone, describing plans for a project designed specifically for massive venues.

“When I make the music, I have this full vision. I see it going down,” Scott explained. “I’m thinking stadium status. How could people so far away feel so close? How can the music be so big but grounded?”

Scott’s stadium-focused approach follows his Circus Maximus World Tour, which shattered records as the highest-grossing solo rap tour in history.

The 85-show global run earned $265 million and sold 2.2 million tickets across six continents. Those massive crowds apparently inspired Scott’s next creative direction.

“Taking raw elements and making it feel, like, euphoric,” Scott said about his upcoming sound. “Man, finding new rhythms, but nothing too hard to take in. You know what I’m saying? A level of what could Rodeo be like on the ultra-scale stadium life.”

The reference to Rodeo signals Scott’s desire to return to the experimental roots of his groundbreaking 2015 debut album. That project established Scott as a genre-bending force, blending Houston rap with electronic elements and cinematic production.

Now he wants to amplify that formula for arena-sized experiences. Scott’s stadium vision builds on lessons learned from his record-breaking tour performances.

The Circus Maximus shows featured elaborate stage designs, pyrotechnics and immersive production that transformed venues into otherworldly experiences. Some concerts drew crowds exceeding 100,000 fans, including a massive 115,000-person show in Rio de Janeiro.

“Putting my whole body and soul into the next [project], for more people to understand,” Scott said about his upcoming music. He specifically mentioned targeting “the person that still don’t understand Trav no matter how long I’ve been in this s###.”

The new album will follow 2023’s Utopia, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 496,000 first-week units.

That project earned Scott a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album, though he has yet to win despite 10 total nominations throughout his career.

Utopia represented a creative peak for Scott, blending psychedelic production with trap influences and featuring collaborations with artists like The Weeknd, Bad Bunny and Drake.

The album’s success launched the Circus Maximus tour, which proved Scott’s ability to fill stadiums consistently across multiple continents. Scott remains cagey about specific release timelines for his new music.

“Got to feed the kids, man. The kids must eat,” he said when pressed about when fans can expect new material. However, he confirmed that new music will arrive “in the near future.”

The rapper’s stadium vision also connects to his architectural interests.

Scott toured a $65 million Beverly Hills mansion during the Rolling Stone interview, discussing potential enrollment in Harvard’s architecture program. His fascination with space and design influences how he conceptualizes musical experiences.

Compton’s Most Wanted DJ Mike T Dies, West Coast Hip-Hop Loses Icon

DJ Mike T, a founding member and producer of the pioneering West Coast Hip-Hop group Compton’s Most Wanted, died, according to close friend MC Eiht.

Mike T was instrumental in shaping the sound that would define Compton’s Most Wanted alongside MC Eiht, Tha Chill, and the rest of the crew.

“Just gets more unreal by the minute. One of the most prolific and designated DJs to ever touch a turntable,” MC Eiht said. “My Bro, my DJ, my friend. Man tomorrow is lost. Live for today. All my peoples live for today. Tell ya peoples u love em dearly.”

Since the group’s formation in 1989, DJ Mike T has served as both a creative force behind the turntables and a key producer, helping craft the group’s signature West Coast sound.

The DJ’s production work was particularly notable on the group’s breakthrough 1992 album Music to Driveby, where he produced the original version of their biggest hit “Hood Took Me Under.”

The track, which peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles chart, became a defining anthem of the early ’90s West Coast Hip-Hop scene and later gained renewed recognition when it was featured in the popular video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Beyond his work with Compton’s Most Wanted, DJ Mike T established himself as one of Los Angeles’ premier club DJs throughout the 1990s. He became a fixture in Hollywood and Downtown LA’s most popular venues, working with Diamond Productions to create the legendary “Mental Mondays” club nights in partnership with R&B group Bell Biv DeVoe.

His skills behind the decks made him one of the most sought-after DJs in the LA club scene during Hip-Hop’s golden era.

Mike T’s production talents extended far beyond CMW, as he crafted beats for various artists featured on compilation albums and worked extensively with other West Coast acts.

His collaborations included projects such as “Sound Control Mob – Under Investigation,” where he produced tracks for artists including Vanilla C, PG 13, and MC Looney Tunes.

He also contributed to the Compton Cartel – Back In The Hood compilation and various other West Coast Hip-Hop releases throughout the 1990s.

In recent years, DJ Mike T continued his musical journey under the moniker “DJ Mike TzLee,” working from his home studio “Startin’ Frum Skratch Studio” as part of the W.C. Skratch Gang production team. He remained active in creating mixtapes and producing new material, staying connected to the Hip-Hop culture that had defined his career for over three decades.

The loss of DJ Mike T represents more than just the passing of a talented musician; it marks the end of a direct connection to Hip-Hop’s formative years on the West Coast. H

is contributions to the culture, both as a member of Compton’s Most Wanted and as an individual artist, helped shape the sound and direction of an entire genre.
