Rihanna Reveals Real Reason She Missed Met Gala Following Pregnancy Rumors

Rihanna did not attend the 2024 Met Gala, leading to wild speculation about her being pregnant again on Monday (May 6). The singer debunked the rumors by disclosing the actual reason for her absence in a message to a fan.

“Biiitch! It’s a stomach flu, you already know the disaster this is, luckily won’t be for too long,” she wrote. “Maybe something I ate or someone I was in contact with in Miami. Thanks for checking on me.”

Rihanna and her boo A$AP Rocky spent the weekend in Miami ahead of the 2024 Met Gala. Rocky hosted a Puma pop-up shop on Saturday (May 4).

The Met Gala provided Rihanna with a platform to wear elaborate outfits in the past, but she was planning to show a bit of restraint this year. Last month, she discussed what she intended to wear to the Met Gala at a Fenty Beauty event.

“I’m actually just keeping it real simple this year,” she told Extra. “Very simple… I think it’s gonna come to what my makeup and what my hair is going to do. We wanna play with that, but I have no idea what I’m gonna do with that.”

She added, “Very simple-ish… compared to everything I’ve ever done. I’m showing up for dinner! Shout out to Anna Wintour.”

Rihanna fans love to scrutinize her actions and words for any hint of her next move. Skipping the Met Gala set off alarms for many of her loyal supporters, who assumed something big must have happened to make her miss the annual event.

The stomach flu sidelining Rihanna was not enough to stop fans from thinking she got pregnant again. Social media was filled with people claiming the flu was just a cover story to explain her absence from the 2024 Met Gala.

Drake Rumors Around Shooting Incident At His Toronto Home Are Bad

So, we all know there was a shooting at Drake’s house. Why? Did he find the mole in his crew? Is his life spiraling out of control? Let’s back up for a minute.

First things first, guns are absolutely illegal in Canada. It’s illegal for anyone, except the military and police, to own a gun, which has been the case since 1977 due to a criminal law amendment. So this is a big deal.

Secondly, here’s basically what we know: It looks like someone from Drake’s security was shot at the house. The speculation is that some rogue Kendrick Lamar fan did the shooting. But there’s no concrete evidence to back that up right now. On top of that, Drake’s address was splattered all over the internet, compliments of Akademiks.

Now that we’ve got that out of the way, Drake could be in big trouble if he had anything to do with this shooting. Nobody knows yet. However, we can, in the rumor section of this website, speculate.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/zKpSoG5uTC0

Some others have stated this is a ploy to change the conversation away from the rap battle with Kendrick Lamar. It’s almost unanimous that Drake lost the battle. Kendrick Lamar had other songs lined up, we pretty much know as a fact, and he didn’t even release those tracks.

Back to the mole. Some are suggesting that perhaps Drake found the actual spy in his crew, who was allegedly feeding Kendrick Lamar all that reported information about his personal life. There’s really no evidence to support that, but that’s just a theory someone stated to me. Did that mole shoot security? But there’s really (quite literally) no full-blown, clear-cut evidence of that either. Some have suggested that Drake’s life is simply spiraling out of control. Again, there’s no evidence to support that either.

At the end of the day, nobody here really knows much about what’s happening in Drake’s life right now. But this is a weird twist of fate that continues to add to the lore of this entire situation. I would love nothing more than for it all to disappear. The battle is over, and we have a winner and it just needs to go away. Until then, keep in tune with the old rap rumors. We keep getting ripped off repeatedly and other outlets are using this particular section as facts. Listen: I know that our section is hot and it’s also extremely close to what’s happening, but at the end of the day, it’s still rumors.

By the way, the internet has taken over.

Also, by the way, there’s some evidence of Drake’s daughter. There’s also something about a BOY out there, too, and a women is definitely talking affirmatively.

Drake’s Security Guard Identified As Victim In Drive-By Shooting At Rapper’s Home

Drake‘s security guard was reportedly the victim of the shooting that took place at the rapper’s home on Tuesday (May 7).

According to TMZ, the man was shot in the chest and rushed to the hospital. He said to be in stable condition. Police are staying quiet about the possible connection to the ongoing Kendrick Lamar feud, but fans of K. Dot appear to be taking matters into their own hands.

At an OVO store in London, fans scrawled the words “They not like us” across the front window, a reference to Kendrick’s latest diss track, “Not Like Us.”

Emergency crews were called to Park Lane Circle near Bayview Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East just after 2 a.m. local time on Tuesday morning. Police say a suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, but no descriptions have been made available. Officers quickly taped off an area on the street and are expected to provide additional details in a press conference.

Although Drake wasn’t shot, he appears to be the target. Video floating around show officers on his actual property as they investigate.

The public discourse between Kendrick Lamar and Drake kicked off in March with Future & Metro Boomin’s single “Like That” featuring the former TDE rapper. Drake responded with “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle,” which has since been scrubbed from the internet due to an A.I.-generated sample of Tupac Shakur’s voice.

The beef was far from over, though. On April 30, Kendrick fired back with “euphoria,” a six-minute verbal assassination that topped the charts at Spotify and Apple Music.

Before Drake could respond, he dropped “6:16 in LA” on Instagram. Drake then hit him with “Family Matters,” only for Kendrick to return in less than an hour with “Meet the Grahams.” Kendrick followed up with “Not Like Us,” produced by Mustard, and Drake released yet another track on Sunday (May 5) called “The Heart Part 6.”

Neither party has yet to address the shooting, but it’s highly possible their bad blood is now spilling into the streets.

Joe Biden Campaign Uses Kendrick Lamar’s “euphoria” To Diss Donald Trump

Kendrick Lamar’s beef with Drake has expanded beyond Hip-Hop culture. The viral battle is now part of the 2024 United States presidential race involving President Joe Biden and Republican hopeful Donald Trump.

On April 30, Kendrick Lamar released a Drake diss track titled “euphoria,” which dominated several streaming platforms and is projected to reach the Top 5 of the Billboard Hot 100. It debuted at No. 11 on the chart.

The Joe Biden-Kamala Harris campaign tried to harness the energy around “euphoria” to diss their political opponent. The @BidenHQ social media accounts posted a video trolling Donald Trump using Lamar’s record as the soundtrack.

“It’s always been about love and hate, now let me say I’m the biggest hater. I hate the way that you walk over women’s rights, the way that you talk about immigrants. I hate the way that you dress, I hate the way that you sneak diss on truth social,” the text reads in the Biden-Harris video.

Kendrick Lamar has been a vocal critic of Donald Trump in his lyrics. On Isaiah Rashad’s 2016 track “Wat’s Wrong,” K. Dot says, “Might stay in the Trump Tower for one week/Spray paint all the walls and smoke weed/F### them and f### y’all and f### me.”

In addition, Kendrick took a shot at the then-president on 2017’s “The Heart Part 4.” He rapped, “Donald Trump is a chump/Know how we feel, punk/Tell him that God’s coming/And Russia needs a replay button, y’all up to somethin’.”

Shooting At Drake’s Toronto Home, One Person Injured

Reports of a shooting in the area of Drake’s Toronto residence spread across the internet. The Toronto Police Operations account on Twitter (X) has confirmed an incident did take place on Tuesday morning (May 7) at 2:09 am local time.

Officers arrived at Bayview Ave & Lawrence Ave E. According to the Toronto Police Service, a man was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. City News reports Drake was not shot.

CBC News reports that police taped off Drake’s property in the Bridle Path neighborhood. A source confirmed to the outlet that an ongoing investigation centers around Drake’s home. The suspect apparently fled in a vehicle.

In the last several weeks, Drake has been involved in a highly publicized rap battle with Compton-bred recording artist Kendrick Lamar. There’s been no indication that the shooting had a connection to the feud.

Drake has referred to his 50,000-square-foot house as The Embassy. He filmed the music video for his 2020 chart-topping single “Toosie Slide” inside the mansion. This story is developing.

Cornel West Salutes Macklemore For Dropping Pro-Palestinian Protest Song “Hind’s Hall”

Seattle-bred rapper Macklemore released “Hind’s Hall” on Monday (May 6). The track serves as a protest song for the pro-Palestinian demonstrations on university and college campuses. He will donate streaming proceeds from the track to UNRWA.

Macklemore called out American politicians, including U.S. President Joe Biden, for funding Israel’s war in Gaza. The song’s title references Columbia University’s Hamilton Hall building.

Students at Columbia University in New York City occupied Hamilton Hall. Eventually, New York City police officers raided the encampment and arrested more than 100 protesters.

Macklemore received a major endorsement for his “Hind’s Hall” record. 2024 U.S. presidential candidate Cornel West showed support for The Heist album creator on social media.

“I salute my brother @macklemore using his powerful artistry to tell some painful truths! #TruthJusticeLove,” Cornel West tweeted on Tuesday (May 6) in response to the Grammy Award winner’s political musical statement.

Macklemore has been an outspoken critic of Israel’s tactics in the country’s ongoing war against the Palestinian militant group Hamas. In October 2023, he denounced Hamas’ October 7 terrorist attack but called Israel’s actions in Palestine a “genocide.”

Trolls Set Up GoFundMe Campaigns To Mourn Drake After Battle With Kendrick Lamar

Drake versus Kendrick Lamar could go down as the greatest rap battle in Hip-Hop history. In addition to multiple diss records dropping, the clash led to some memorable online memes and antics.

TMZ reports that some internet users have taken the fight to the GoFundMe crowdfunding platform. Trolls decided to declare Kendrick Lamar the winner by setting up fundraisers to celebrate Drake’s apparent demise.

The satirical titles include “Join the Love Fund for Drake’s Send-Off” and “RIP Drake(champagnepapi): Fans Unite in Grief.” GoFundMe has removed those links from the website.

“We can confirm we are monitoring the platform for related fundraiser starts and will remove any that have not been authorized by the recipient of the funds,” a GoFundMe representative told TMZ.

GoFundMe confirmed the anti-Drake campaigns did not receive money. However, the attempt could symbolize the general public’s perception of the rapper following his lyrical contest with Kendrick Lamar.

The rivalry between Drake and Kendrick Lamar led to eight different diss tracks from both Hip-Hop stars over three weeks. Lamar’s one-two punch of “meet the grahams” and “Not Like Us” seemed to turn the tide in his favor for many people.

Both Drizzy and K. Dot pulled in huge streaming numbers for several of their respective songs. As of press time, Lamar’s “Not Like Us” tops two streamers’ rankings. The single leads Spotify’s Daily Top Songs USA chart and Apple Music’s Top 100: USA chart.

Man Arrested After Lurking Near Will Smith’s L.A. Home

It appears Will Smith had an unexpected guest show up at his Los Angeles-area residence. While the entertainment legend was not home at the time, his security team was concerned enough to call law enforcement.

According to TMZ, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested Robert Ogden, 37, on a misdemeanor charge. Ogden reportedly visited the house on more than one occasion.

Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith’s wife, dealt with trespassers at another house. That intrusion from February saw two men climb onto the Girl Trip star’s balcony. Authorities reported the incident as an attempted burglary.

In October 2023, Jada Pinkett Smith revealed she and Will have lived separate lives as a married couple since 2016. Jada also stated that she had no plans to divorce the Bad Boys movie actor.

“I think by the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted with trying,” Jada Pinkett Smith said. “I think we were both kind of just still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be.”

Boosie Badazz Called Out Over Hypocritical Take On Drake & Kendrick Lamar Battle

Boosie Badazz was checked by fans online after complaining that people are too eager to see the downfall of either Drake or Kendrick Lamar amid their ongoing battle.

The lyrical warfare has produced multiple diss tracks with fans taking sides and debating the topic in fierce online discussions. However, Boosie believes the beef could overshadow their legacies in Hip-Hop. He also chastised fans for engaging and warned that things could turn nasty.

On Monday (April 6), the outspoken rapper shared his take in a lengthy all-caps post on X (formerly Twitter).

“I never seen so many men excited to see men tearing each other down thru music smh,” he began. “The men r more excited than the women lol.”

Boosie recalled being stopped by a fan in a casino asking him whether Drake or K. Dot was “going down.” He questioned if fans genuinely want either rapper to risk their career over a battle.

“Do yall really want one of these great artist career done cause they lost a rap battle?” he asked. “Do yall want all what they have done for hip hop overshadowed by rap beef?”

Referring to the bombshell allegations from both K. Dot and Drizzy, Boosie claimed the beef “got real.”

Boosie said that neither the Drake or Kendrick Lamar, nor their entourages will be “shaking hands n smiling,” the next time they cross paths and fears things could escalate. “Nobody go be safe n the next artist city,” he added. “Not to mention when other artist start picking sides n getting involved smh. Thats when s### get serious.”

Boosie Fans Slam His Take On Drake and Kendrick Lamar Battle

However, Boosie fans called him out, claiming he was being hypocritical.

“Bro your whole career was based off tearing people down. Stop it with fake morally Boosie Luther king,” one fan replied.

“Your music been teaching us to shoot, rob, and kill other black men,” another added. “And sell drugs to the community. We still to this day support you.”

Meanwhile, Hip-Hop fans continue streaming the numerous diss tracks with K. Dot making Spotify history. According to Chart Data, “Not Like Us” broke Drake’s record for the biggest single-day streams of a Hip-Hop song.

Metro Boomin Dubbed “Metro Groomin” Over Shocking Unearthed Tweets

Metro Boomin is catching heat online after fans dredged up the producer’s old tweets amid the ongoing beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar.

After Metro kicked off the lyrical warfare with Future and K. Dot on We Don’t Trust You cut “Like That,” the warring duo engaged in mudslinging back and forth on multiple diss tracks with salacious accusations flying back and forth.

However, Metro Boomin found himself under the microscope after social media sleuths scanned his old tweets.

“Metro Groomin,” began trending on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday evening (May 6), as users saved and shared the posts, many of which were problematic, to say the least.

One compilation of such tweets includes Metro Boomin making statements including, “she might be young but she ready,” and “I’m tryna tell [one of my friends] that age ain’t nothing but a number.”

Many of the tweets date from between 2011 and 2014, when the 30-year-old producer was between 17 and 20 years old.

Other posts include song lyrics referencing drugging girls with Molly, while a string of tweets from 2010 lays out a list of 10 rules. They include “No Means Blow,” and “Commin 2 my hotel ya gotta blow, 1, 2, 3, and maybe 4.”

In another tweet, Metro wrote, “That’s that r Kelly trapped in the closet s###,” in response to a photo of a female friend with a toddler. Another since-deleted post sees Metro tweet about “walking through the grocery store with both hands in my pockets like a true pedophile.”

Gunna Fans Make Balcony Tremble Going Crazy For ”Fukumean” At Detroit Concert

Gunna’s performance of “Fukumean” had Detroit fans so hyped they had the balcony jumping at his Detroit show.

The ” Wassam” hitmaker almost gave a new meaning to the phrase “bring the house down,” at the Detroit stop of his Bittersweet Tour at the historic Fox Theatre Monday night (May 6). Fans lost their minds when Gunna played his hit song, “Fukumean.” The top row had the entire balcony of the nearly one-hundred-year-old building rocking precariously to the beat.

Gunna shared a clip of the trembling balcony on Instagram. He was clearly feeling the heat, captioning his post with a grinning face with a sweat emoji.

Meanwhile, it was Flo Milli feeling the pressure on her first night opening Gunna’s tour last weekend. She was forced to walk offstage after the crowd hurled objects at her at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio.

“B#### when I catch you…I swear to f###### God,” Flo said as she ended her set early.

After the show, Gunna took to X (formerly Twitter) to condemn the rowdy fans. He warned that no Flo Milli disrespect will be tolerated on tour. “Family ties,” he added.

Arli Lennox also came to her defense having experienced similar treatment while on tour with Rod Wave.

“Flo Milli I’m sorry this happened to you,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “You are beautiful and incredibly talented woman. Some of these people can be so damn cruel.”

Meanwhile, Gunna is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated One of Wun album. The project is set to arrive on Friday, May 10.

Cardi B’s Show-Stealing Met Gala Gown Needs 9 Helpers On Red Carpet

Cardi B has had some iconic Met Gala looks over the years but perhaps none as dramatic as the gown she wore for the 2024 event.

On Monday evening (May 6), Cardi B joined the fashion glitterati for the 2024 Met Gala. Co-hosted by Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, and Chris Hemsworth, the theme was “The Garden of Time.”

Cardi B made a daring statement in an avant-garde black gothic gown and matching headdress. The tulle layers of her skirt took over the red carpet and needed at least nine assistants to fan out the meters of fabric.

She was also dripping in diamond and emerald jewelry, with a bold statement necklace and matching accessories.

By the time she got around to her Vogue red carpet interview, Cardi B had dropped two attendants and was only down to seven.

“I’m that b#### and you b###### could never,” she told the interviewer. “Before y’all consider comparing yourself to me, b####.”

Other showstoppers on the night included co-host Zendaya, who donned two outfits for the glamorous occasion. Meanwhile, fellow NYC rapper and longtime Cardi B rival Nicki Minaj wore a delightful floral number that perfectly fit the theme. An array of colored flowers adorned her sculptured yellow Marni gown.

Cardi B was on hosting duties following the annual event, hosting her own Met Gala after-party. She changed into a stunning red number for the occasion, her long tresses dangling loose at her shoulders.

Doja Cat Rocks Wet T-Shirt Dress For 2024 Met Gala

Doja Cat knows how to create a memorable fashion moment and she turned heads with two unconventional looks, transforming the 2024 Met Gala into the “Wet Gala.”

On Monday evening (May 6), the stars donned their best red carpet looks for the annual event dubbed the Fashion Oscars. Co-hosted by Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, and Chris Hemsworth. The dress code was “The Garden of Time,” for the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition, titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”

While guests wore a dizzying array of colors and fabrics in line with the theme, Doja Cat stuck to white cotton.

She emerged from NYC’s Mark Hotel wearing a pair of fluffy white towels. One kept her modesty intact while the other was wrapped around her head as though fresh from the shower. Doja accessorized her look with a diamond necklace, earrings and towering heels.

However, by the time she arrived at the Met Museum Doja had changed into her second look of the evening. She walked the red carpet in a soaking wet white oversized t-shirt dress, leaving little to the imagination. Renowned makeup artist Pat McGrath explained she pained, “enchanted tears of joy streaming down her cheeks,” for the high fashion affair.

Doja Cat explained her NSFW wet t-shirt fit during a red carpet interview with ET.

“I know that people are gonna do flowers,” Doja began. ‘But my flower of choice is the most used flower, and it’s cotton. And so, I wanted to do a white T-shirt also because a white T-shirt is timeless.

She added, “it felt very poetic to choose this. I knew it wasn’t going to blend in too much, and I don’t really like to blend in.”

Earlier this week, Doja Cat raised eyebrows with her pre-Met Gala looks. She went on a shopping spree in just a bed sheet and thong. A day later, the “Paint The Town Red” hitmaker dressed down in a saran wrap two-piece.

Macklemore Throws Jab At Kendrick Lamar V. Drake Beef With Pro-Palestinian Anthem

Macklemore has resurfaced with a new single called “Hinds Hall,” a pro-Palestinian anthem that simultaneously serves as commentary on the Kendrick Lamar versus Drake beef.

The Seattle-bred rapper, who infamously bested Kendrick Lamar in the Best Rap Album category at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards in 2014, announced the track via social media on Monday (May 6). He promised to donate all proceeds to UNRWA, an independent 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides support for the humanitarian work of the United Nations Agency for Palestine Refugees.

The lyrics and accompanying video highlight the ongoing Israel-Hamas War, which erupted in October 2023. It was apparently inspired by the work of student protesters at Columbia University, who occupied the campus’s Hamilton Hall last week and renamed it “Hind’s Hall.”Throughout the track, Macklemore reiterates there are much more important issues to discuss than the lyrical warfare between two of rap’s most famous names.

“What happened to the artist?” he raps. “What do you got to say?If I was on a label, you could drop me today/I’d be fine with it ’cause the heart fed my page/I want a ceasefire, f### a response from Drake (Woo)/What you willin’ to risk? What you willin’ to give?/What if you were in Gaza? What if those were your kids?/If the West was pretendin’ that you didn’t exist.”

A post shared by BEN (@macklemore)

Macklemore quickly became a trending Twitter (X) topic shortly after the track’s release. Some are calling it the most revolutionary song to come out since Public Enemy’s 1989 anthem “Fight The Power.” Others are shaming DJ Khaled—who is of Palestinian descent—for not speaking up and letting a “white rapper” do it for him.

“For all the s### @macklemore gets from the hip hop community… dude dropped a serious f###### call out track saying what needs to be said,” one person wrote, while another said, “Didn’t have Macklemore dropping a harder track than Drake this week on my bingo card.” Other comments included, “Say what you will about Macklemore, at least he has a f###### spine” and “Macklemore going hard for freedom and justice while you beg your billionaire faves dancing in Black Panther Party costumes to say the word Palestine.”

But there are still a number of people on social media who feel he’s simply trying to capitalize off the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef, while enflaming many in the Jewish community. At one point, he vows not to vote for President Joe Biden, which according to one commentator, “is genuinely a pretty rough hit to his base, like a whole lot of resist libs are feeling conflicted right now.”

As he raps, “The blood is on your hands, Biden, we can see it all/And f### no, I’m not voting for you in the fall (Woo)/Undecided, you can’t twist the truth, the people out here united/Never be defeated when freedom’s on the horizon/Yet the music industry’s quiet, complicit in their platform of silence.”

Whatever the case, Macklemore is getting a lot of praise for bringing attention to such a serious cause. Find the lyrics here and watch the video above.

Doja Cat Spotted In NYC Wearing Only Bedsheet & Thong

Doja Cat turned heads in New York City when she stepped out in an improvised white bedsheet for a shopping spree before a pre-Met Gala party.

The “Say So” singer, known for her daring fashion statements, paired the minimalist ensemble with a black thong, later switching to a bold zip-up leather dress.

Her unconventional attire captivated both fans and fashion enthusiasts alike, spotlighting her fearless approach to style.

In her latest outing with the bedsheet ensemble, she continues to embrace a playful yet provocative appeal that reinforces her position as an influencer in fashion circles.

In 2023, Doja Cat dazzled at the 2023 Met Gala in New York portraying Karl Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette, with an outfit characterized by luxurious elegance and meticulous attention to detail, showcasing her respect for fashion iconography.

The event marked her debut at the star-studded affair where celebrities and designers converge to celebrate the intersection of fashion and art.

Last year, the rapper’s ensemble, designed by Oscar de la Renta, turned heads with its pearl-white gown adorned with an array of diamonds and crystals that shimmered under the gala’s lights.

The gown’s dazzling aura was amplified by a hooded headpiece fashioned with cat ears, meticulously aligning with the Choupette theme.

Doja Cat’s transformation was completed with prosthetic enhancements to give her a more feline appearance and dramatic cat-eye makeup that accentuated her features.

Drake & Kendrick Lamar Receive Offer To Settle Beef In WWE Ring

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels proposed a way to end Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s beef on Monday (May 6). The retired wrestler extended an offer to both rappers after Kendrick referenced Michaels on the diss track “Not Like Us.”

“A little Sweet Chin Music goes a long way,” Michaels wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “@kendricklamar, you and @Drake are formally invited to #WWENXT to settle this thing. I’m even offering my services to mediate.”

Michaels oversees WWE’s developmental brand NXT. Michael envisioned Drake and Kendrick appearing on NXT’s weekly television show, which currently airs on the USA Network but is moving to The CW later this year.

Kendrick mentioned Michaels’ finishing move Sweet Chin Music on “Not Like Us.” The song dropped amid K. Dot’s recent barrage of Drake diss tracks.

“Sweet Chin Music and I won’t pass the aux,” Kendrick rapped.

Drake and Kendrick’s battle began when the latter fired lyrical shots at the Canadian star on Future and Metro Boomin’s song “Like That” in March. Drake responded with two diss tracks, “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle” in April.

Kendrick dropped his response “Euphoria” on the final day of April. K. Dot wasn’t done as he quickly unleashed another diss track, “6:16 in LA,” on Friday (May 3).

Drake attempted to take control heading into the weekend. He threw abuse allegations at Kendrick on the song “Family Matters,” which also dropped on Friday. But Kendrick gave Drake no room to breathe, immediately responding with “Meet the Grahams” minutes later. The Pulitzer Prize winner kept his foot on Drake’s neck by dropping “Not Like Us” on Saturday (May 4).

The last two songs marked a clear escalation in the beef. Kendrick accused Drake of being a pedophile and hiding another child, among other allegations. Drake tried to defend himself by releasing “The Heart Part 6” on Sunday (May 5).

Snoop Dogg Says He’s Bringing College Football Back To Its Roots With His Own Bowl Game

Snoop Dogg etched his name in college football history as the new namesake of the Arizona Bowl. The Doggfather unveiled a multi-year sponsorship deal to rechristen the bowl game as the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl Presented by Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop on Monday (May 6).

The popular rapper’s announcement touted his history of sending Snoop Youth Football League players to college football programs and the NFL.

“College football fans are exhausted by the constant talk around NIL, conference realignment, coach movement, transfer portal and super conferences,” Snoop said. “So, it’s time we get back to the roots of college football when it was focused on the colleges, the players, the competition, the community, the fan experience and the pageantry … It’s only fitting that I step up and help get this thing right. I’m ready to bring the juice back to college football.”

The Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl will be held at Arizona Stadium in Tucson on December 28. The game will feature teams from the Mountain West Conference and Mid-American Conference.

“We’re thrilled about our groundbreaking partnership with Snoop and Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop,” the Arizona Bowl’s executive director Kym Adair said. “This year, the Arizona Bowl is bringing sports, libations and entertainment into a singular bowl game, and we are changing the definition of what a brand partnership is in the NCAA.”

The Arizona Bowl is owned by the non-profit organization TD4Tucson, which donates 100 percent of its net proceeds from the game to charity. This year’s pre-game festivities include charity events and the SNOOPER Bowl, a showcase of Arizona and California’s best youth football teams.

Snoop and Dr. Dre launched their Gin & Juice drink in February. The brand was named after their hit single “Gin & Juice,” which appeared on the classic album Doggystyle.

50 Cent Deems Recent Rash Of Chicago Shootings Not “Gangster”

Chicago shootings caught the attention of 50 Cent on Monday (May 6). The G-Unit rapper called for a stop to the violence after reading reports of 31 shootings in the Windy City over the weekend.

“Come on now, this gotta stop,” 50 Cent wrote. “this ain’t gangster, this is just crazy.”

Public Enemy’s Chuck D, Bun B & More Weigh In On Kendrick Lamar Vs. Drake Beef

The ongoing Kendrick Lamar and Drake war of words has captivated the rap community. Twitter (X) has been a non-stop destination for those wanting to weigh in on what some are calling the most “historic” battle in rap history—and fellow MCs are no exception. A slew of artists have shared their thoughts on what’s transpired, especially over the last week.

Beginning on April 30 with Kendrick Lamar’s “euphoria,” the two rap titans have pumped out six more diss tracks aimed at each other’s jugulars. It appeared to culminate on Sunday (May 5), when Drake dropped “The Heart Part 6” and seemed to call it a day with the lines, “I don’t even wanna diss you anymore/This s### really got me second guessing” and “I give a f### about your streamin’ data/You could drop a hundred more records, I’ll see you later.”

But the discussion is far from over. As of Monday (May 6), Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s public discourse is dominating Twitter (X). Chuck D, one of Hip-Hop’s most revolutionary and respected voices, used his artistic talent to comment. Sketching J. Cole, Kendrick and Drake, Chuck added images of the Gaza-Israeli War protests, jails, Trump, Biden and Haiti, suggesting the “Big Three” could use this moment to address more important issues impacting the world today.

Chuck D also said he was team Kendrick Lamar but called the entire beef “low hanging kid s###” and suggested J. Cole, Kendrick and Drake would be better off joining forces.

When I entered the rap game at 27 in 1987, I wanted to challenge ROCK music fandom and administration. I didn’t treat hip-hop like some kid sht because I wasn’t a kid. I didn’t make music for kids, but if they got it, it wouldn’t ROT them. When I turned 30, I was old in Rap. Same with 40, 50, 60.. now, with all going on in the world, 40 year olds asking me about 3 millionaire great rappers beefing.

“Small sht has ROCK music making my genre appear like f##### romper room sht in 2024. This coming off, imo, the greatest rap year ever. These fantastic 3 rappers (I’m biased for KL ) have songs that never will get this public attention hence this low hanging kid sht turns casuals heads . Get them all on a TOUR so we can pick seats .. we say in sports.”

Bun B, meanwhile, reminded everyone battling is simply part of Hip-Hop culture with, “Rap is a competitive sport. Battling is a necessary part of it. But it’s not for the weak. This battle is also keeping other rappers on their toes just in case. So the next guys to battle will come over prepared lol. Fans get more music done at a high level. No one is physically hurt. Enjoy it! I know I am!”

Open Mike Eagle, who made a compelling argument, called out Drake for allegedly lying about tricking KendrickL Lamar into believing made-up rumors about having a “secret” daughter. At the same time, he took issue with both men using women in an attempt to make their respective points.

“Last thing imma say tonight is that the idea that drake fed kendrick the secret daughter idea is complete b#######,” he said. “If you paid attention to how drake reacted to it that night. and also all the women in these dude’s lives being used as ammunition is completely f#####.”

Rodney O, one-half of the duo Rodney O & Joe Cooley, is the genesis of the Future and Metro Boomin track “Like That” featuring Kendrick that set the entire beef off. The duo’s 1988 song, “Everlasting Bass,” was sampled for the chart-topping hit. He chimed in via Instagram, writing, “SO THIS GUYS BEAT STARTED ALL THIS S###. SORRY NOT SORRY!”
