Kodak Black Skips Hearing Over 2022 Oxycodone Arrest

Kodak Black reportedly didn’t appear in court on Friday (August 12) for his hearing regarding a 2022 drug bust.

According to the Sun-Sentinel, the rapper’s attorney stood before the judge on his behalf, answering questions regarding the nature of the pills that were found on him.

As previously reported, the Florida recording artist was arrested on July 15, 2022 after authorities found 31 pills and $75,000 in cash on his person when they detained him during a traffic stop in Fort Lauderdale.

Law enforcement said the pills were oxycodone and assumed he intended to sell them, leading to a trafficking charge.

Defense lawyer Bradford Cohen argued he learned that two of those pills tested positive as the common over-the-counter drug acetaminophen, Tylenol and that the rest of the 29 were the prescription opioid. Oxycodone should only be sold by a physician.

The “Super Gremlin” artist actually has a prescription for the pills cops discovered in 2021. After the arrest, the lawyer made sure he mentioned that to the press.

While he brought up the Tylenol, he didn’t suggest at the time that he would challenge the admissibility of that evidence. The presiding just Broward Circuit Judge Barbara Duffy set the rapper’s next court date for October 27.

Nas Brings Out Lauryn Hill For Star-Studded Hip-Hop 50 Celebration At Yankee Stadium

Hip-Hop celebrated its 50th birthday on Friday (August 11), the same day in 1973 DJ Kool Herc and his sister Cindy Campbell threw their iconic Back to School Jam at 1520 Sedgwick in the Bronx. A massive lineup of artists—both foundational and representing the future—hit the Yankee Stadium stage Friday night for more than 40,000 people. Presented by Live Nation, Mass Appeal and the New York Yankees, the event boasted performances by the Sugarhill Gang, Kurtis Blow, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Ice Cube, Fat Joe and dozens of others.

Nas, who co-founded Mass Appeal with label head Peter Bittenbender in 1996, was among the scheduled headliners. As the concert crossed the six-hour mark, the Queensbridge native descended on the historic stadium with live renditions of some of his biggest hits, including “One Mic” and “Shoot ‘Em Up.” But it was his performance of “If I Ruled The World (Imagine That)” from his 1996 album, It Was Written, that had the audience completely entranced. Dressed in a fluffy pink blazer, beaded braids, a blue Yankees hat and giant platform heels, Lauryn Hill stepped on stage to an unsuspecting  crowd to perform alongside Nas. After finishing “If I Ruled The World,” she went into Fugees’ “Ready or Not” and “Killing Me Softly” as well as her own solo single “Doo Wop (That Thing).”

The two MCs shared a hug before Hill exited the stage, a symbol of their 30-year friendship. “If I Ruled The World” featuring Lauryn Hill marked Hill’s first musical appearance outside of the Fugees. The single reached No. 53 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, while also peaking in the Top 20 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. It was later nominated for a 1997 Grammy Award in the Best Rap Solo Performance category.

Nas brought Hill out of semi-retirement again for the King’s Disease II single “Nobody,” another track that showed off the duo’s musical chemistry.  As for Yankee Stadium, Run-DMC closed out the exhaustive event for what they billed as “The Ninth Inning…The Walk Off,” their final performance as duo. The entire concert is available for viewing above.

Tony “The Closer” Robinson Reacts To DJ Envy’s Defamation Lawsuit

Raashaun “DJ Envy” Casey is pushing back against the online narrative that he took part in a fraud scheme. The Breakfast Club host has reportedly filed a defamation lawsuit against Anthony “Tony The Closer” Robinson.

According to reports, DJ Envy sued Tony Robinson, claiming the former NFL player spread false information about him on the internet. Robinson allegedly referred to Envy as a “scammer” over reports of another lawsuit.

A group of investors seeks compensation from DJ Envy and his business associate, real estate advisor Cesar Pinas. The plaintiffs accuse Envy, Pina, and his wife, Jennifer Pinas, of defrauding them out of millions of dollars. Tony Robinson spoke to Envy about that legal situation and supposedly shared the recorded conversation on social media.

DJ Envy Reportedly Claims Tony Robinson Tried To Present Him As A Criminal

“I honestly don’t know, that’s between them and whatever happened,” DJ Envy told Robinson. “But did I say, ‘There, take this money and give it to this person or do this with this money?’ I never did.”

He continued, “If you ever came to my seminar, I tell everybody, ‘Everybody on this stage, whether it’s credit, prepare, or it’s a conventional lender, do your homework because I don’t trust anybody.’ If you’ve been to my seminars, I say that a million times.”

DJ Envy’s suit reportedly accuses Robinson of illegally posting the telephone call to present him as a criminal. The veteran radio personality’s legal team wants unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.

“The Closer” Refers To Envy’s Lawsuit As A Bullying Tactic

Tony Robinson responded to the lawsuit on Twitter. On August 10, he posted, “First they tried to send goons to my crib to silence me from telling the victims story now they trying to bully me in court!! Naw you won’t push me around as you let your partner steal millions from the community.”

The following day, Robinson added, “DJ Envy brought a convicted scammer and drug dealer on Breakfast Club gave him credibility now that flipping [New Jersey] has now scammed millions of dollars over 25 million and counting… from investors DJ Envy wants to act like he ain’t got nothing to do with it. 😑.”

In addition, DJ Envy recently accused Florida rapper Gunplay of foul play by posting their private dialogue. The Hampton University graduate stated on the air, “It is against the law to record somebody’s phone conversation and not tell them. That’s against the law.”

2Pac, H.E.R. & Ice Cube Are Among Artists Gen-Z Kids Apparently Don’t Know

While it’s apparent Hip-Hop celebrates its 50th birthday this year, both veteran and emerging acts such as H.E.R. and Ice Cube appear to succumbing to a generational gap.

A somewhat shocking viral TikTok video circulating has highlighted the unsettling fact that Gen-Z teens are damn near unaware of both the artists and music they’ve been surrounded by most of their lives. The clip in question captures an educator catching her students off guard by quizzing them about the recording artists emblazoned on their shirts. Of course, the kiddos who are rocking the dime-a-dozen band tee’s like AC/DC and Pink Floyd get the benefit of the doubt—because I’m not gonna sit here and act like I knew Metallica made “Enter Sandman” for any reasons other than I played skateboarding and video games as a kid.

But my jaw dropped when the young girl couldn’t name a H.E.R. song even if her life was on the line. While one other girl managed to rifle off “California Love” when asked about 2Pac, multiple others appeared clueless when asked about his catalog and a young man appeared unabashedly unbothered when failing to name a song by Aaliyah.

Does the radio station no longer spam songs such as “Rock The Boat” and “Ambitionz Az A Ridah” during the nighttime mixes? Or is it possible that artists such as Yeat and Lil Uzi Vert have the youth and their ears in a chokehold? No matter what the deal is, the writing is on the wall—us ’90s babies are really getting up there these days!

EXCLUSIVE: Willie D Blasts Gatekeepers Behind Hip-Hop 50, Says “It’s A Money Grab For Them”

Willie D denounced this year’s various Hip-Hop 50 events in an interview with AllHipHop. The Geto Boys member blamed gatekeepers for ruining the celebration of Hip-Hop’s 50th anniversary.

“S###’s wack,” Willie D told AllHipHop. “Because a lot of it is being put on and presented by gatekeepers who don’t have the best interest of the culture at heart. And it’s a money grab for them. They’re picking and choosing who they think should receive praise, who should receive accolades.”

He added, “One of the biggest problems is a lot of the people who make these decisions are from not just the East Coast but from New York. And that’s a problem. That is problematic because Hip-Hop may have started in New York, but it’s worldwide.”

Willie D thought it would’ve been better for every region to have its own festivities. He believed too many artists weren’t getting their just due for Hip-Hop’s 50th anniversary.

“We all have made tremendous contributions to this art form,” the veteran rapper said. “In fact, I would argue that without the rest of us, Hip-Hop would not have survived. So, why are you trying to prevent others from getting their shine and recognition?”

Check out Willie D’s conversation with AllHipHop’s Chuck Creekmur and DJ Thoro below.

Trippie Redd To Take On Drake & Travis Scott For AOTY + Fast Food Chicken Crowns With ‘ALLTY5’

Trippie Redd just might be in a position to give both Drake and Travis Scott a good, competitive run for their money in the perspective spaces they’re currently dominating.

Though Trippie Redd’s personal life is in shambles at the moment, things on the business side look promising. Just as he’s publicly accosting himself for infidelities amid a three-year relationship, Redd is in a unique and opportunistic space as the hype for his A Love Letter To You 5 (ALLTY5) album reaches a climax. With features from artists such as Lil Wayne and The Kid LAROI, Trippie Redd already has his fans eating out of the palm of his hand thanks to the project.

And what better way to capitalize on exuberant new album fan buzz, might one ask? Well, none other than by launching a ghost kitchen. In the weeks to follow Redd’s quest to campaign ALLTY5 to the top of the charts, his new collab with the tech start-up brand Popchew will see the rise of the Ohio-bred rapper’s own chicken restaurant—not to be confused with Dave’s Hot Chicken, the Nashville Hot Chicken spot Drake’s invested in. Trippie’s Strips & Dips appears to be injecting a spicy new flavor into the world of deep-fried tenders.

Now whether Trippie Redd can manage to move nearly 500,000 copies of ALLTY5 in the first week, or match the heat Drizzy’s sliders brand is kicking, he really only has one goal—which is for Trippie’s Strips & Dips to be tastier than Mr. Beast’s Burgers.

Nah, but for real, bro better take notes from Bun B’s Trill Burger and Wiz Khalifa’s Hot Box and carbon copy what’s working. Because a $100 million lawsuit ain’t gonna look too good for Trippie Redd—it definitely doesn’t look good for Mr. Beast and he has that YouTube money.

Ne-Yo Taunts Critics With Deion Sanders Clip Over Backlash To His Trans Kids Stance

Ne-Yo showed no interest in backing down from his polarizing remarks on parenting and transgender children. The singer scoffed at the backlash by referencing a Deion Sanders quote on Friday (August 11).

“In case anybody was curious,” Ne-Yo captioned the Instagram post, which included audio from a Sanders press conference.

The clip featured Sanders responding to criticism of his actions as head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes football team. Ne-Yo posted a video of himself staring at the camera while the audio of Sanders’ speech played.

“Look at me,” Sanders said. “What about me would make you think that I care about your opinion of me. Your opinion of me is not the opinion I have of myself. You ain’t make me, so you can’t break me. You didn’t build me, so you can’t kill me. God established me, so ain’t nothing you can do to me. I been him!”

A post shared by NE-YO (@neyo)

Ne-Yo sparked controversy after criticizing parents who allowed their children to question their gender identity. He issued an apology on social media, but he quickly backtracked and blamed a publicist for misrepresenting his stance.

“I WILL NOT BE BULLIED INTO APOLOGIZING FOR HAVING AN OPINION,” he declared on Instagram. “AGREEING TO DISAGREE IS NOT A DECLARATION OF WAR.”

Ne-Yo said he did not agree with allowing kids to identify as something other than the gender of their birth. But he did say he would accept one of his children coming out as transgender once “they’re old enough and mature enough to make that decision.”

Tory Lanez Sells “Free Tory” Merch After Receiving 10-Year Prison Sentence

Tory Lanez turned his incarceration into an opportunity to make money. The controversial rapper/singer promoted the release of “Free Tory” t-shirts and hoodies on Friday (August 11).

“Free Tory … Till It’s Backwards,” he wrote on Instagram. “Live Now @ ForeverUmbrella.Com.”

Earlier this week, a judge sentenced Tory Lanez to 10 years in prison for shooting Megan Thee Stallion. He maintained his innocence in a statement issued on Thursday (August 10).

“Regardless of how they try to spin my words, I have always maintained my innocence and I always will,” Tory Lanez said. “This week in court I took responsibility for all verbal and intimate moments that I shared with the parties involved…. In no way shape or form was I apologizing for the charges I’m being wrongfully convicted of. I remain on the stance that I refuse to apologize for something that I did not do.”

He added, “I’ve faced adversity my whole life and every time it looked like I would lose, I came out on top. This is nothing but another moment where my back is against the wall and I refuse to stop fighting till I come out victorious.”

Last December, Tory Lanez was convicted of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, discharging a firearm with gross negligence and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. Judge David Herriford credited the Canadian artist with roughly 10 months of time served at the sentencing hearing.

FKi 1$t Channels Ja Morant In New EP ‘Ja 1$t Morant’

FKi 1$t continues to bless his fans with banger after banger. Fresh off the heels of his previous release, a lo-fi album called Sleeping With Shoes On, the Atlanta native returns with his newest project titled Ja 1st Morant. The six-track EP is described as a “turn up” vibe for the summer, with features from Ralfy The Plug (Drakeo The Ruler’s brother) and Tony Shnoww.

While FKi 1$t played baseball, he relates directly to Ja Morant’s talents on the basketball court to his own talents in the music industry. The songs embody what it means to strive for excellence, relentlessly chasing one’s dreams no matter the circumstances. This is a project for the underdogs, or for anyone who’s ever doubted you along the way.

On the producing tip, FKi 1$T recently linked with Lil Uzi Vert in the studio, the first time they’ve collaborated since his critically-acclaimed debut album Luv Is Rage

AllHipHop spoke with FKi 1$t about the new project, balancing producing and rapping, linking with Lil Uzi Vert, and more.

AllHipHop: What inspired Ja 1st Morant? What’s Ja Morant’s influence on you?

FKi 1st: One day, I just woke up feeling like Ja. Ja Morant. I feel like everybody only knows one quiet side of me, or whatever. Ja Morant is the crazy side. I had to go into my inner Ja Morant, and I let it out through music. But everybody got a wild side, even the laid back people like myself. I’m laidback and quiet, but when it’s time, I could turn up. I could dunk on people, it’s through the music.

AllHipHop: What is it about Ja Morant? I’m sure you like his talents on the basketball court as well.

FKi 1st: Of course. Man, bruh’s impact on the game now, the way he moves, the way he plays. On the court, he knows what he’s doing. His ball control, everything he does on the court. High impact, fast moving, fast paced. That’s how the music is on this project.

AllHipHop: Talk about the cover art, it’s a video game cover and you in Ja’s jersey?

FKi 1st: Yeah, it’s me. We fused together. We did a fusion with Ja Morant, just to get everything across even more. The project is fire. We got Ralfy The Plug on there, that’s Drakeo The Ruler’s brother. Tony Shnoww, a lot of people. The s###’s fast, high impact. I hope y’all like it.

AllHipHop: How’d you tap in with Ralfy The Plug?

FKi 1st: I met him when Drakeo came to my studio a week before he passed. Dro Fe linked us up. We recorded a whole project that night.

AllHipHop: What do you want fans to take away from this project?

FKi 1st: It’s a quick short EP. I woke up feeling like Ja one day, and I had to get that across through music. Really, I want everybody to have fun. Have fun listening to it. This was my mood, this was my summer mood. I don’t know, I might go back to lo-fi during the wintertime when it gets cold again. I woke up feeling like Ja and I had to get it out, any way I could. I can’t hoop.

AllHipHop: Why can’t you hoop?

I played baseball. I could hoop a little bit, always looked the best on the court. Ain’t gon’ lie, I always looked the best on the court. Fashion-wise, I always got some s### on. But I ain’t the greatest. [laughs]

So is this more turn up records?

FKi 1st: Yeah, definitely more turn-up records. My last project was Sleeping With Shoes On, so it was really laid back. Lo-fi. I made that during the week when it rained, but since it’s been hot outside, I’ve been back and forth in Atlanta. I had to get it out. It’s fast-paced, moving. Quick and easy, six songs. I hope y’all like it.

AllHipHop: You’re a producer and artist as well, is it hard balancing both?

FKi 1st: Man, it’s crazy balancing both being a rapper and producer. What’s crazy, I got to be in the studio with Kanye a couple years ago. It was me and Post in there, we were working on the “Fade” record. I meant to ask Kanye: bruh, how did you manage doing both? I didn’t get to ask him. I’m so sad to get to ask him that question. But s###, it’s depending on how I wake up. Some days I feel like hitting the MPC, making beats. Sometimes I feel like using my voice. Maybe sometimes I put both together, do them at the same time.

It really depends on the day for me. It literally depends on the day and what kind of inspiration I got. If I woke up and the first thing I heard was a hard Zaytoven beat, I’m probably going to want to make hard ass beats that day. If I woke up hearing the hardest Rio Da Young OG verse or Kendrick verse, I might want to wake up and get some words out. So it just depends.

AllHipHop: What about on the producing tip, anything you’re excited for?

FKi 1st: Well I just left the studio with Uzi yesterday. He posted it already. He posted him rapping it already. I don’t know if you can hear the song, but it’s a snippet out. I just got the studio with Uzi, we made about two songs. S###, Good Gas 4 after this. Good Gas 4 is featuring Jack Harlow, Veeze, Drake The Ruler, Ralfy The Plug, Peezy, a little bit everybody. That’s on the producing side.

AllHipHop: Did you take away anything from the Uzi session?

FKi 1st: Yo, Uzi is amazing how he records. Bruh is so cool, it’s so crazy how he f#### with everybody and the younger generation. The young kid in the studio, he was so hard too. The way he embraces everybody and he works so fast, it’s amazing. I f### with bro. You know, we haven’t really dropped anything since his first Luv Is Rage project.

AllHipHop: How’d y’all tap back in?

FKi 1st: We were both in Atlanta at the same time. My homie Bobby Kritical was at the stu, and he linked us back up.

AllHipHop: Anything else you’re excited for?

FKi 1st: Me and Tony Shnoww have a project coming out. He’s on my project, but we have a whole project coming out, produced by me. We both rapping on it. UnoTheActivist, we just finished the whole project.

AllHipHop: Anything else you want to add?

FKi 1st: I call my projects, moods. This is the mood for the summer. I’ll probably have two more moods for the rest of the year.

Tyrese Gibson Sues Home Depot For Racially Profiling Him

Tyrese Gibson has sued the U.S. shopping chain Home Depot for alleged racial profiling.

“The Fast & Furious” star and two other plaintiffs are taking Home Depot to court after allegedly being “purposefully interfered with” by store employees while attempting to make a payment on February 11.

The 44-year-old and two other men, described as associates of the actor who “regularly provide construction services to Gibson,” filed a lawsuit against the company, claiming that they had “experienced outrageous discriminatory mistreatment and consumer racial profiling” during a visit to the West Hills, California store.

The actor and his associates, Eric Mora and Manuel Hernandez, are suing the home improvement company for over $1 million in damages.

The lawsuit states that this will reflect the amount of money that Gibson has spent in Home Depot stores over the years, in addition to punitive damages and “a declaratory judgment declaring that” the store’s actions violated California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act, which provides protection from discrimination by all business establishments in California.

According to the lawsuit, when the three men visited the store, Gibson decided to wait in the car while the other two men completed the transaction because fans had begun to notice him in the shop.

The cashier allegedly told Gibson that he would allow the two men to use his credit card to purchase the items. However, the lawsuit alleges “the cashier refused to complete the purchase transaction” even after the actor returned to the store.

Responding to the legal action in a statement, representatives for Home Depot said, “Diversity and respect for all people are core to who we are, and we do not tolerate discrimination in any form.
“We value Mr Gibson as a customer, and in the months since this happened, we’ve reached out to him and his attorneys several times to try to resolve his concerns. We will continue to do so.”

Offset Teases Time-Frame For His Sophomore Album’s Release Date

It has been four years since Offset released his debut solo album, Father of 4. One-third of the Migos rap group is now preparing to let loose his second full-length body of work.

Apple Music 1’s Ebro Darden interviewed Offset about his upcoming studio LP. The 31-year-old recording artist teased that fans can expect the follow-up to Father of 4 within two months.

“Yeah, we’re coming in October but right now we’re just applying pressure,” Offset revealed to Ebro Darden about his next album. “Creatively, content-wise, I’m going to just keep my rollout going.”

He added, “The rollout started from ‘Jealousy,’ so I’m going to just keep the rollout starting from right then. So with this album, I’m definitely going to be showing way more personality, way more of who Offset is, creatively.”

“Jealousy” arrived on July 28. Offset recruited his wife, Hip Hop superstar Cardi B, to be a feature on the Three 6 Mafia-sampling single. That song joined the list of previous collaborations by the married couple that includes “MotorSport” and “Clout.”

In 2022, Offset released the loosie tracks “54321” and “Code” with Moneybagg Yo. There seemed to be some behind-the-scenes drama surrounding those records. The Quality Control Music label reportedly sought to benefit from Set’s solo music despite an apparent agreement that gave the rapper ownership of his own recordings.

However, news broke this week that Offset ended his legal dispute with his longtime label home. The “Ric Flair Drip” rhymer filed to dismiss his lawsuit against Quality Control with prejudice. QC previously backed all four Migos albums and each member’s solo projects.

Offset’s Father of 4 came out on February 22, 2019. It debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart with 89,000 first-week units. Set also teamed with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin for the 2017 collaborative album Without Warning which also peaked at No 4.

Usher Recalls Chaperoning A Pre-Teen Beyoncé

Both Usher Raymond IV and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter have managed to maintain an A-list-level entertainment career through four different decades. Apparently, the two megastars have a very long history together.

Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp caught up with Usher for an interview. That edition of the United Kingdom-based radio show included the Atlanta-bred R&B singer reflecting on a time when he and Beyoncé were still starting off in the industry.

“Fun fact, I knew Beyoncé when she was 12 years old, 11 years old. She used to be in a group by the name of The Dolls,” recalled Usher. “I don’t know if I could consider myself their babysitter, but I had a time where I had to watch The Dolls.”

Usher continued, “I was at [music producer/songwriter] Daryl Simmons’ house. He was working with them at the time, and I just happened to be over there and they were working on a session. I kind of found my way into being their like, I don’t know, chaperone, nanny, or something like that, the oldest person in the room.”

Of course, Beyoncé went on to become one of the most successful music acts of all time. During her tenure as the lead singer of Destiny’s Child, the Houston native secured four No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and two No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart.

As a soloist, Beyoncé racked up eight more Hot 100 chart-toppers and seven more Billboard 200 chart-toppers. In addition, She sits atop the all-time list of winningest acts in the history of the Grammy Awards with 32 golden gramophones.

Usher also has impressive Billboard chart accolades. The 8-time Grammy winner has nine No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits in his catalog. That puts him just one chart-topper behind legends like Stevie Wonder and Janet Jackson.

Plus, Usher has a Diamond-certified album with 2004’s Confessions. That project spent nine weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. He also led the weekly album rankings with 2008’s Here I Stand, 2010’s Raymond v. Raymond, and 2012’s Looking 4 Myself.

Usher’s Here I Stand hosts “Love in This Club Part II” with Beyoncé and Lil Wayne. The original “Love in This Club” features Young Jeezy. That version of the Polow da Don-produced track peaked at No.1 on the Hot 100.

Kash Doll Addresses Fan Accusing Her Of “D**k Riding” Cardi B

At one point, it appeared Kash Doll and Cardi B were not on good terms. However, the former exotic dancers-turned-recording artists had a very cordial conversation on social media this week that apparently bothered some people.

Cardi B once again went viral online after showcasing her hair growth journey. While her initial tweet collected over 220,000 likes on Twitter, the conversation about the self-described Afro-Latina’s homemade hair oil devolved into a debate about ethnicity.

“This is me as a child… this is me as a teenager… this is me in my early 20’s… and NOW,” posted Cardi B in response to the backlash from some users. “Everyone wants to blame my hair growing on genetics but where was the genetics when I was in school?? 😂.”

Cardi continued, “The facts are you need hair products and good care that works for you to maintain it and keep it healthy… sometimes it’s not even just about growth it’s about keeping it HEALTHY and the growth comes.” She also uploaded four photos of herself at different points in her life.

Kash Doll saw Cardi B’s posts about her hair. The BMF cast member chimed in on the discussion by showing support for the Invasion of Privacy album creator. The Detroit-bred rapper/actress wrote, “Give me the f##### products lol f### them.”

That message from Kash Doll led to another Twitter user to reply, “[You] stay dick riding with [your] none no-hit-records ass.” In response, Kash stated, “Damn sis, I just want my hair to grow back long that fast… my bad.”

Even if a certain sector of Twitter took issue with Kash Doll being supportive, Cardi B reciprocated the positivity. The “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker invited Kash to her home for the special hair treatment and a meal.

“Girl come to my house… I will wash your hair down myself [with] boiled onion water & make you a thick-ass hair mask and have my auntie do your blowout… Maaa liquor and food too!!!,” Cardi B told Kash Doll.

50 Cent Talks Wanting To Collaborate With Lil Wayne For The First Time

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Dwayne “Lil Wayne” Carter are two of the most successful rap superstars to emerge from the late-1990s/early-2000s. However, the Hip Hop heavyweights have yet to join forces on a track.

Robert Bruce and Shayna Marie had 50 Cent appear on their Capital XTRA Breakfast show as a special guest co-host. The 48-year-old mogul helped celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop culture.

The program also featured Shayna Marie asking Jackson if there was anyone from the past 50 years that he would like to collaborate with on a song. 50 replied, “I didn’t do one with Wayne… He’s one of the ones.”

Lil Wayne became a national Hip Hop figure in 1999 as a member of the Cash Money Records-backed Hot Boys group. He went on to have a Grammy-winning solo career that included dropping the Diamond-certified “Lollipop” single in 2008.

50 Cent fronted his own rap collective known as G-Unit. The Queens, New York City native’s breakout mainstream hit “In da Club” from 2003 reached the 9x-Platinum mark. 50 also has a Grammy Award win to his name.

While 50 Cent and Lil Wayne’s paths never crossed on wax, they did share a bill during a 2000 tour run. 50 told Capital XTRA Breakfast, “People don’t know [that] I was on the Cash Money/Ruff Ryders Tour – before they opened the curtain.”

A potential Weezy/Fiddy collaboration could be attainable for fans. 50 Cent recently recorded new music with fellow NYC legend Nas for the first time in two decades. Their “Office Hours” joint effort lives on Nas’s Magic 2 album.

Akon Admits Wearing Fake Dior To “Raise Engagement” For “Drink Champs” Interview

Akon knows how to capture the spotlight and isn’t afraid of employing unconventional tactics to stir up the conversation, which is exactly what he did during an interview earlier this year.

The “Locked Up” crooner went viral following his appearance on Drink Champs in July, with social media users sharing clips of the interview. However, the attention was not because of any outrageous statement or old Hip-Hop stories but rather his fake Dior fit.

Akon pulled up to the show wearing a jacket emblazoned with a logo very similar to that of the French fashion house. Viewers soon spotted that the lettering spelled out ‘Drio’ instead and took to the internet to roast Akon.

Nonetheless, the Senegalese artist says, unlike the fake Hublot watch he once bought French Montana, this time he wasn’t duped into buying fugazi designer gear. Rather, the fake Dior jacket was a ploy to grab attention, and Akon says it worked like a charm.

French Montana Grills Akon Over Fake Dior Fit

When French recently linked up with Akon, he quizzed him about the jacket. “I knew I knew that s### was going to raise engagement,” Akon said, admitting the jacket was a fake Dior design.

He didn’t go to New York’s notorious Canal Street knockoff market this time but says he got it from “one of my Africans.”

Akon knew that once viewers clocked on, they’d have a field day online. “It just takes for one person to notice, and it’s gone’ go crazy on the internet,” he added. “It sure did exactly what we wanted it to.”

He shared the video on Instagram, writing: The African love is real. Me and my brother @frenchmontana really Enjoyed This moment.”

Tory Lanez Breaks Silence To Maintain His Innocence: “I Refuse To Apologize”

Tory Lanez is still proclaiming his innocence and says he was “wrongfully convicted” of shooting Megan Thee Stallion following his sentencing earlier this week.

Judge David Herriford sentenced the “Say It” singer to 10 years for the 2020 shooting on Tuesday (August ). During the hearing, Tory Lanez admitted full responsibility for “everything I did wrong that night.”

However, just two days later, Tory Lanez clarified his remarks, claiming he was not apologizing for any of the charges. He shared a statement on Instagram telling his fans he won’t stop fighting until he comes out on top.

“I have never let a hard time intimidate me, I will never never let no jail time eliminate me,” he began. “Regardless of how they try to spin my words, I have always maintained my innocence and I always will. This week in court I took responsibility for all verbal and intimate moments that I shared with the parties involved…. That’s it.”

Lanez continued, “In no way shape or form was I apologizing for the charges I’m being wrongfully convicted of. I remain on the stance that I refuse to apologize for something that I did not do. I’ve faced adversity my whole life and every time it looked like I would lose, I came out on top.”

According to Tory Lanez, “This is nothing but another moment where my back is against the wall.“ Nonetheless, the Canadian hitmaker added, “I refuse to stop fighting till I come out victorious.”

He concluded by telling his followers, “Tough times don’t last, tough people do,” adding, “See you soon.”

Detroit Rapper Illa J Celebrates Hip Hop 50 With Visuals for “No Traffic”

Enter the realm of Detroit-born singer/rapper/producer John Derek Yancey, known by the moniker Illa J. Although maybe best known as the younger brother of hip-hop legend J Dilla and a former member of the iconic Midwest hip-hop group Slum Village, Illa J has made a name for himself on his own with 100 million global streams over the span of his solo music career. With a lifetime of exposure to quality music and top-tier musicians, Illa J’s forthcoming music is bound to shake the foundations of the entertainment industry.

The debut offering from the upcoming album No Traffic due out September 1 on BBE Music comes in the form of the single’s titled track “No Traffic,” a testament to Illa J’s versatility as a wordsmith and producer. The MC finds himself waxing poetic about everything from his wife’s dope creative design skills to his sold-out international tours with British soul sensation Harleighblu.

Speaking on the inspiration behind the single Illa J says, “This song “No Traffic” was originally supposed to be an Intro track with just Dank (of Frank N Dank) talking over my instrumental. However, after I built the beat around his vocals, I ended up vibing to it so much that I had to rap on it.”

Amidst a minimalist aesthetic, the official music video was originally meant to be a lyric video, but the visionary got carried away. With a short cameo from his wife Sarah Samira Yancey who also directed the music video to a few humorous costume changes, the visuals compliment the light-hearted nature of the song.

Illa J says, “The concept for this video was to showcase me in a less serious light, it represents my silliness and pure joy of making music. I always want to have visuals that feel authentic to me. It was originally supposed to be a lyric video but my wife who directed it had the idea of making it a hybrid by also having me act out some of the lyrics while vibing to the beat.”

The forthcoming album No Traffic consists of 19 tracks entirely written and produced by the virtuoso and mastered at Grammy-award nominated The Carvery Studio. The project showcases Illa J’s innate gift for melodies, bars, hooks and lyricism. Created amidst the chaos of the pandemic, No Traffic serves as a beacon of hope, a roadmap for creatives seeking their path. On this project he enlisted the help of Detroit legends Amp Fiddler, Frank n Dank, UK soulstress Harleighblu, as well as local rising stars Serious, Joz B, and Maine Soul. Every single musical guest seems to be meticulously handpicked to match Illa J’s energy and passion.

“This album is special to me being that it’s my first self-produced solo project. I really enjoyed making this album and I’m proud to say that there are zero samples. I feel like I’m just getting started,” he says.

No Traffic marks a new chapter in Illa J’s musical journey, one that takes you to a place where his playful and versatile sound reigns supreme, a refreshing experience of a true artist reveling in their artistry. The title “No Traffic” represents the open lane Illa J has created for himself by

working tirelessly on his craft which now allows him to independently create his own style of

music.

Rappers Don’t Bite, and Neither Do Dentists: Dr. Mario Montoya’s Perspective on Patient Comfortability

One dentist has risen to prominence for his exceptional skill and dedication in the world of glitz, glamor, and high-profile celebrities. Dr. Mario Montoya, fondly known as the ‘Artist’s Dentist,’ has been sculpting and crafting some of the most captivating smiles in the entertainment industry. From the music scene’s top rappers, such as Rick Ross and Tekashi 6ix9ine, to many more in show business, Dr. Montoya has made a name for himself in Colombia and globally.

His exceptional prowess in cosmetic dentistry has earned him the title of the ‘Architect of the Billion Dollar Smile.’ Yet, behind these glittering smiles and high-profile clientele lies a much deeper philosophy that guides Dr. Montoya’s work — the importance of patient comfort.

The art and science of dentistry, particularly cosmetic dentistry, demand a delicate equilibrium between precision and empathy. While the importance of technical expertise can’t be overstated, establishing a comforting environment that ensures patients feel at ease is equally indispensable. For Dr. Montoya, achieving this balance isn’t a mere adjunct but central to his practice, as his unique approach demonstrates how patient comfort significantly impacts the success and overall patient experience of dental procedures.

Studies have shown that dental anxiety is very present among adults globally, significantly impacting oral health due to neglect and delayed treatment. The symptoms can vary widely among individuals, ranging from mild unease to a severe phobia, known as dentophobia, that can lead to panic attacks or even cause one to faint.

The reasons behind dental anxiety are multifold. For many, it stems from fear of pain, a common concern, particularly among those who have had uncomfortable past experiences. Others might dread feeling vulnerable and losing personal space with dental treatments. For some, the sounds and smells of a dental office, especially the distinct noise of dental drills, can trigger anxiety.

In the case of high-profile clientele like the ones catered to by Dr. Montoya, the stakes are even higher. The fear of a dental procedure going wrong, causing a noticeable change in appearance, can cause significant stress. Furthermore, there is a heightened need for privacy and discretion, adding another layer of complexity to their dental visits.

The intensity of dental anxiety, its impact on oral and overall health, and its prevalence, especially among those in the public eye, make it a crucial aspect to address in dental practice. Understanding and mitigating dental anxiety forms the basis of Dr. Montoya’s approach to providing exceptional dental care to his high-profile patients.

Addressing dental anxiety is not just desirable but critical in the field of dentistry. This understanding is fundamental to Dr. Montoya’s approach to providing exceptional dental care. Patient comfort in dentistry goes beyond simply ensuring a pleasant experience—it plays a pivotal role in influencing the overall success of dental procedures and long-term dental health and maintenance.

Patients who associate dental visits with positive, comforting experiences are more likely to adhere to treatment protocols and maintain regular appointments—factors that are crucial for preventive dental care and early detection of potential dental issues. Furthermore, comfortable patients contribute to a smoother and more efficient procedure since high anxiety levels can complicate the procedure by increasing sensitivity to pain or leading to involuntary, abrupt movements.

In cosmetic dentistry, patient comfort assumes an even more critical role due to the very nature of the procedures involved. They often require multiple sessions, involve intricate work, and bear high aesthetic stakes. A comfortable experience helps foster a positive perception of dental care, encouraging regular check-ups and adherence to oral hygiene practices.

Dr. Montoya’s approach to ensuring patient comfort permeates his entire practice. This strategy is initiated by building a strong rapport with patients during the first consultation and continues through every stage, including follow-up appointments. He minimizes discomfort during and after procedures by utilizing advanced technology, such as sedation dentistry for those with severe anxiety and CAD/CAM technology for veneer fittings. Each patient receives a meticulously designed pain management plan, and clear instructions for post-procedure care and recovery are always provided.

Within his practice, Dr. Montoya has curated an environment that seamlessly marries luxury and comfort. The thoughtfully crafted ambiance caters specifically to the privacy needs of his high-profile clientele. This attention to detail, which characterizes every aspect of the patient experience, is a testament to his unwavering commitment to patient comfort.

The concept of luxury in Dr. Montoya’s practice extends beyond superficial opulence, symbolizing his dedication to providing exceptional patient experiences that enhance comfort and exceed expectations. His patient-centric approach, where each patient receives a bespoke treatment plan, reflects his commitment to luxury. This approach, coupled with the use of cutting-edge technology and materials, ensures not only the best aesthetic outcomes but also the most comfortable patient experience.

In Dr. Montoya’s hands, the journey to a better smile becomes an exclusive retreat that dispels dental anxiety, breaks the cycle of dental avoidance, and reinforces positive associations with dental care. His unwavering commitment to patient comfort reshapes the conventional perception of dental visits, leaving patients with a brighter smile and a renewed perspective on dental care, highlighting the critical role of patient comfort in long-term dental health. Dr. Montoya’s practice is a beacon in cosmetic dentistry, demonstrating how a dentist’s empathy and commitment to patient comfort can transform the dental experience.

Desiigner Catches Heat For Pretrial Violations In Indecent Exposure Case

A probation officer asked a judge to consider revoking Desiigner’s pretrial release. According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Desiigner faced potential punishment for skipping drug tests and other violations.

Desiigner, whose real name is Sidney Selby, was charged with one federal count of indecent exposure on an aircraft in April. He was placed under pretrial supervision in June but allegedly violated the conditions in July.

“On July 11, 2023, Selby admitted to marijuana use,” probation officer Katie Lovisolo wrote in a court filing. “Selby also admitted he had not attended counseling as ordered. On July 12, 2023, and on July 26, 2023, Selby failed to report for drug testing as directed. Additionally, Selby has failed to provide his PO Box address to probation, has not signed his co-payment agreement for testing and has not provided verification of his participation in counseling.”

Desiigner was ordered to comply with several conditions after being arrested for masturbating on a plane. The former G.O.O.D. Music artist said he was struggling with his mental health and sought help following the incident.

“For the past few months I have not been OK, and I have been struggling to come to terms with what is going on,” he wrote on Instagram Stories. “While overseas for a concert I performed at, I had to be admitted in to a hospital, I was not thinking clearly. They gave me meds, and I had to hop on a plane home. I am ashamed of my actions that happened on that plane. I landed back to the States and am admitting myself in a facility to help me.”

Desiigner awaits a judge’s decision on revoking his pretrial release.
