Donald Glover Speaks On Issues With Kid Cudi

As the so-called “Rap Civil War of 2024” plays out online, Donald Glover clarifies he doesn’t want friction with one of his potential adversaries.

Glover, also known as Childish Gambino, addressed fellow rapper/actor Kid Cudi during a Gilga Radio interview on Monday (April 15). Previously, Cudi expressed no interest in working with the Atlanta creator.

“Kid Cudi, if you got a problem, I’m not here for the beef. Just talk to me,” Glover stated. “It’s like we don’t have to agree on everything but we also don’t have to be like, ‘When I see you, we have to wanna kill each other.’ Life is too short.”

In February, Kid Cudi shut down the possibility of working with Donald Glover on television, movie or music endeavors. In response to a question on Twitter (X) about that potential partnership, Cudi replied, “I’m cool.”

During his conversation with Gilga Radio, Glover also confirmed two upcoming Childish Gambino projects. A soundtrack for the Bando Stone and the New World film will be the final Gambino album.

Plus, Donald Glover will release an updated version of his 2020 album 3.15.20. He plans to rename that studio LP as Atavista. A music video for “35.31”—now titled “Little Foot Big Foot”—is on the way as well.

Lil Baby & Dreezy Deny Hooking Up In California Mansion

Internet detectives suspected Atlanta’s Lil Baby and Chicago’s Dreezy recently spent time together in California. However, the recording artists have pushed back on the rumors of them connecting while on the West Coast.

On Monday (April 15), Lil Baby shared several pictures of himself at a mansion in California on his Instagram page. Around the same time, Dreezy also posted photos from what appeared to be the same home.

The similar-looking images sparked speculation that Baby and Dreezy possibly hooked up at the California residence. Both performers have addressed the online gossip in an Instagram comment section.

“[Three billed cap emojis] Y’all are reaching! That’s the homie!!” Dreezy wrote on Instagram. In addition, Lil Baby commented, “Same house, different days, y’all be reaching [too] hard.”

Dreezy used to date Atlanta-bred R&B singer Jacquees. The former couple’s breakup became publicly messy once Jacquees began a relationship with Deon Sanders’s now-pregnant daughter, Deiondra Sanders.

Lil Baby has two children by two different women. Ayesha Howard gave birth to his first son in 2015. The Quality Control Music-backed hitmaker also has a five-year-old son with social media personality Jayda Cheaves.

In 2021, Lil Baby also denied dating rapper/actress Saweetie. Fellow Quality Control signee, Quavo, reacted to the reports about Baby allegedly connecting with his ex-girlfriend. The Migos member posted, “Ain’t trippin. We can swap it out! #QCTHELABEL.”

Diddy Deserves “Benefit Of The Doubt” According To G. Dep Who Wants To Work With Mogul Again

G. Dep is reaching out to Diddy to get him back in the studio despite the shocking allegations surrounding the embattled Hip-Hop mogul.

The former Bad Boy Records artist was recently released from prison after more than a decade behind bars. He was granted clemency for a 1993 murder he confessed to in 2010.

Before his prison stint, G. Dep gained national prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s with Diddy’s label and has set his sights on a return.

In an interview with Fox 5 New York, G. Dep claimed he never witnessed any of the disturbing behavior detailed in the recent lawsuits against Diddy.

“I’m like, when? When did that happen?” he questioned. “We were in the studio for months on end,” he said, adding, “I don’t know where this is coming from.”

While few former associates have spoken up for Diddy following allegations of sex trafficking and other serious claims, G. Dep says he should be given the “benefit of the doubt” until the allegations can be proven in court.

According to the “Special Delivery” hitmaker, he wrote more than 400 songs in jail and is just waiting to hit the studio.

“Got a lot of songs, bruh,” G. Dep said, addressing Diddy. “I’m looking for you so we can get, you know, some type of musical situation going.”

In addition to multiple lawsuits, Diddy is the subject of a multi-agency investigation spearheaded by the US Attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York, leading to last month’s Homeland Security raids.

Diddy’s lawyer branded the federal raids an “unprecedented ambush” and “nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits.”

Drake Confirms Authenticity Of Kendrick Lamar Diss With Metro Boomin Dig

Drake is taunting Metro Boomin with a meme referencing a dig at his former collaborator from his recent diss track.

The Canadian megastar sent shockwaves through the Hip-Hop community with his recent diss “Drop and Give Me 50.” The track was in response to Kendrick Lamar’s “Like That” and other shots on Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You album.

While there were doubts about whether it was real or an A.I. version, Drake seemingly confirmed its authenticity on his Instagram Story Monday (April 15.)

He posted the audition scene from the 2002 movie Drumline, alluding to his jab at Metro on his recent diss. However, thanks to the magic of A.I., Drake had Metro Boomin play the drums in place of Nick Cannon.

In “Drop and Give Me 50,” Drizzy tells the producer to “shut your hoe ass up and make some drums.”

Last month, Metro Boomin denied fans’ claims that he needed to diss Drake to score a No. 1 album.

“Album was going #1 regardless,” Metro wrote on Instagram in April. “There was gonna be a #1 single regardless. Get off dick that man don’t even know y’all.”

Metro and Future followed up the chart-topping project with the second installment of their three-part series, We Still Don’t Trust You.

The project features J. Cole, who backed out of “the big three” war by walking back his Kendrick Lamar diss “7 Minute Drill.” Other guest appearances include The Weeknd and A$AP Rocky, who also fired at Drake in their verses.

Gunna Clarifies Young Thug Relationship & Addresses Snitching Allegations

Gunna is clarifying the status of his relationship with Young Thug after taking a plea deal in the ongoing YSL RICO trial and how he feels about those snitching allegations.

According to Gunna, people have been “misled” about the whole situation, and while he hasn’t heard the subliminal shots fired at him by his peers, he remains on good terms with Young Thug. He also claimed to have spoken “peacefully” with several rappers who accused him of being a rat.

Gunna addressed his relationship with Young Thug in a recent XXL cover story. “It’s the same,” he said,” adding, “It’s love, always. Our relationship is our relationship.”

Commenting on snitching allegations from Lil Durk, 21 Savage, Lil Baby and others, Gunna said they’re uninformed. “They’re not on the case,” he said, before adding, “They don’t know legally what’s going on.”

Moreover, Gunna claimed he spoke to “two or three of those guys,” on the phone. When asked if they were on “good terms,” he insisted they spoke “peacefully.”

While Gunna has kept a relatively low profile since his release from jail, he has kept the music coming. After dropping his first post-jail album last summer, A Gift & A Curse, which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Chart, Gunna is gearing up to release his fifth studio offering, One of Wun

On Monday (April 15), he shared the artwork on Instagram, promising the project is “on the way.

Rick Ross Shares DM To Drake Accusing Him Of Using Ghostwriters

Rick Ross has uploaded his Drake diss “Champagne Moments” to streaming platforms with cover art that depicts the Toronto megastar as a white man.

On Monday (April 15), Rozay officially released the song on all streaming platforms. He posted the “White Drake” artwork on Instagram. The cover art also features the hashtag “BBLDRIZZY,” alluding to the surgery allegations Ross makes in the track.

Furthermore, Ross teased titles for a possible follow-up diss and continued to poke fun at Drake, claiming he’s had a nose job. “Remix?” he asked in the caption. “Who NOSE? Lord NOSE.”

Despite mocking him over the weekend, Ross also tagged Birdman in the post alongside OVO.

He later took to his Stories, where he tagged Drake before sharing a DM he sent him.

“I wrote it Whiteboy,” Rick Ross wrote, sending a photo of himself wearing a Drake hoodie alongside his new single. He also sent Drizzy a meme of Michael Jackson answering questions about surgery rumors.

Instagram/Rick Ross

His “I wrote it” comment presumably refers to accusations Drake uses ghostwriters. Rick Ross recently added to the rumors, suggesting someone else wrote Drake’s “Sicko Mode” verse.

Drake denied Rick Ross’ nose job allegations, posting a DM exchange with his mother, who inquired about the surgery rumors.

“I would have got us a 2 for 1 deal if I went ma,” he told his mom. “It’s coming from Rick Ross the guy I did songs with he’s gone loopy off the Mounjaro he hasn’t eaten in days and it’s turned him angry and racist he’s performing at proms for money it’s bad don’t worry we’ll handle it.”

Lupe Fiasco: Kendrick Lamar Not A Top. 100 Rapper, Says “Control” Was “Just Aite”

Lupe Fiasco believes he’s a better lyricist than Kendrick Lamar and claims K. Dot’s “Control” verse was overrated.

The recent diss tracks and competitive energy consuming the Hip-Hop community has Lupe ready to hit the studio to wage war. He was dragged into the conversation recently following J. Cole’s apology to Kendrick Lamar as Lupe Fiasco has also walked back comments he made about Lamar on social media.

On Monday evening (April 15), Lupe joined a Spaces conversation hosted by St. Louis battle rap legend Aye Verb, where he shared his take on K. Dot.

According to Lupe Fiasco, although Kendrick Lamar is a “great rapper” and performer who makes “great albums,” he is not a remarkable lyricist. Furthermore, he said he could name one hundred better wordsmiths.

“I think what he does for the culture is amazing, like I love him to death,” he shared. “I do not think that he’s like this amazing lyricist though and if I had to put a Top. 100 list together…”

Lupe said the first sixty slots were underground MCs unknown to the mainstream. However, K. Dot still doesn’t get a mention in his Top. 100 rankings.

Listen to the clip below and check out the full conversation at the end of the page.

Meanwhile, over the weekend, Lupe Fiasco let his peers know he’s with all the smoke and is waiting for a rapper to challenge him to a battle so he can send them to rap oblivion.

He paused his Coachella set to warn anybody thinking about calling him out.

“Hear my clearly when I say this, and I mean this at the bottom of my heart,” Lupe declared. “When it comes to this art, and I quote, I will battle any muthafuckin rapper anywhere, any muthafuckin time.”

He continued, “I don’t give a f### how many records you sold. I don’t give a f### how many awards you have. If you want smoke, I swear on my muthafuckin soul, I will walk through n#####. I will chew up n#####. I will body muthafuckas.”

Fans shared clips of his challenge online and Lupe Fiasco soon went viral and was in the Top. 10 trending topics on X (Twitter) on Monday evening (April 15).

Lupe Fiasco clarified his remarks on X Monday evening (April 15), replying to praise from veteran British producer and DJ Semtex.

“Had to add my little comment to the current narrative Semtex,” he explained. “Folks been sideways on socials and in the media at me all week like I won’t casually rap these boys and girls into the shadow realm…either spawn in and smoke it up or let me finish watching these cybertruck reviews in peace.”

Is It Really Kendrick Lamar Taking Cheap Shots At J. Cole In Alleged Leaked Diss?

As the current rap beef heats up, following disses from Rick Ross, The Weeknd, A$AP Rocky and Drake, a rumored leaked diss track from Kendrick Lamar has fans questioning if the shots sent are real or generated by A.I.

In case you need a re-cap, Future and Metro Boomin’s We Still Don’t Trust You album re-ignited the feud with Drake due to a litany of subliminals. Following J. Cole’s retraction of his K. Dot diss, “7 Minute Drill,” Rick Ross appeared to take issue with Drake’s alleged leaked diss track, which addressed the entire situation, including the MMG and OVO rapper’s fallout, and delivered a diss track dismantling Drake’s appearance— his nose, specifically.

Now, in a somewhat surprising turn of events, a rumored Kendrick Lamar diss has hit the internet, and within hours, has sent social media into shambles. But whether the bars truly originated from K. Dot’s pen has been a point of emphasis, despite the nature of inflammatory lyrics themselves. No matter if the diss record was A.I.-generated or not, some of the one liners are worth a second examination to prove authenticity and or just to gawk at the pettiness.

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

One of the most unsavory bars arrives within the first 16 of the verse as Kendrick Lamar (or A.I.) for that matter, raps, “I dominated your favorite rapper you idolize/My silence is enough to make n###as apologize.

“Retracted statements Cole saying he regretting his lyrics/MC’s die when you revived the competitive spirit/How to kill a rapper, let em do it to theyself, self inflicted career wounds they fear helped.”

The lyrics continue: “One rap n###a dead laid on the floor, and I didn’t have throw any bullets for him to go/Now that we got that out the way it’s one more to go/Stop wasting time, let’s get this show on the road/N###as was ignoring repeat disses, and when they did respond they entertained it as weak disses/And now that it’s direct it’s leaked disses from burner pages and all. Insecure behavior from n###as y’all call gods.”

In a case like this, where does one draw the line? Though it’s almost certainly AI-generated, does this diss move the needle in any one direction or the other, in favor of an artist claiming the top spot within the Big Three. Or is the track purely irrelevant as is? Does the release of this record mount even more pressure on Kendrick Lamar to drop a response? Does the fact Drake’s diss was leaked and not actually released put The 6 God at a disadvantage?

Honestly, I have no f###ing clue. So y’all gonna have to find out on the next episode of Hip-Hop Ball Z! Rest in peace Akira Toriyama.

Rapper Who Lost “This Is America” Lawsuit To Donald Glover Tries To Sue Again

A rapper renewed his efforts to sue Donald Glover a.k.a. Childish Gambino over the hit song “This Is America” on Monday (April 15). According to Courthouse News, Kidd Wes attempted to convince a New York appeals court to revive a dismissed copyright infringement lawsuit.

Kidd Wes, whose real name is Emelike Nwosuocha, claimed Glover’s 2018 single “This Is America” was a rip-off of the lesser-known rapper’s 2016 song “Made in America.” Kidd Wess sued Glover, “This Is America” co-writer Young Thug, producer Lüdwig Goransson and more for copyright infringement in 2021.

As AllHipHop previously reported, Judge Victor Marrero dismissed the lawsuit due to a technicality. The judge said Kidd Wes failed to copyright the underlying musical composition of “Made In America.” Judge Marrero also indicated Kidd Wes would have lost with proper copyright registration.

“Even if [Kidd Wes] had a copyright registration for the composition … dismissal would be warranted here because the elements of [the] composition purportedly infringed upon are insufficiently original to warrant protection or because they are not substantially similar to the challenged Composition,” the judge noted.

Kidd Wes only obtained the copyright for the sound recording. His attorney Gregory William Keenan argued against the case getting dismissed based on an “administrative mistake.”

“An applicant for a copyright registration, especially one who’s not a lawyer, might check the wrong box on the registration documents as a result of some legal oversight,” Keenan said. “And we’re not going to expose them to invalidation based on an applicant’s good faith misunderstandings of the details of copyright.”

Glover’s lawyer Jonathan Davis pushed back, insisting Kidd Wes did much more than make a simple mistake.

“This is not a mere error,” Davis said in court. “This is the absolute failure to register a work.”

He added, “When you are claiming that the complete failure to register the work that you seek to protect — and have standing to sue from — has been omitted, that is a material error.”

Kidd Wes awaits the court’s ruling on his appeal.

J. Cole’s Kendrick Lamar Diss Debuts In Top 10 Despite Streaming Removal

J. Cole’s “7 Minute Drill” cracked the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart even though fans can no longer listen to it on Spotify and TIDAL. The Kendrick Lamar diss track debuted at No. 6 after Cole removed the song from the streaming services.

Cole’s diss received 23.4 million streams in its first week. It marked the 13th Top 10 song of his career.

“7 Minute Drill” was released in response to Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” which remained at No. 1 on the Hot 100 for a third week. “Like That” featured Kendrick Lamar, who dissed Cole and Drake on the song. Kendrick referenced lyrics from Drake’s“First Person Shooter” in which Cole referred to the trio as the “big three” in Hip-Hop.

“F### sneak dissing, first-person shooter, I hope they came with three switches/I crash out like, ‘F### rap,’ diss Melle Mel if I had to/Got 2TEEZ with me, I’m snatching chains and burning tattoos, it’s up/Lost too many soldiers not to play it safe/If he walk around with that stick, it ain’t André 3K/Think I won’t drop the location? I still got PTSD/M######### the big three, n####, it’s just big me,” Kendrick rapped.

Cole returned fire with “7 Minute Drill,” the closing track of his surprise release Might Delete Later.

“I came up in the Ville, so I’m good when it’s tension/He still doing shows, but fell off like The Simpsons/Your first s### was classic, your last s### was tragic/Your second s### put n##### to sleep, but they gassed it/Your third s### was massive and that was your prime/I was trailing right behind and I just now hit mine/Now I’m front of the line with a comfortable lead/How ironic, soon as I got it, now he want something with me/Well, he caught me at the perfect time, jump up and see,” he rapped.

But Cole regretted dropping the song. He apologized and announced he was taking the song off streaming services at the 2024 Dreamville Festival.

“That’s the lamest s### I ever did in my f###### life,” Cole told the audience.

Cole doubled down on the apology by appearing on Future and Metro Boomin’s We Still Don’t Trust You album. The move left Drake alone in a rap battle that dragged Rick Ross, A$AP Rocky and The Weeknd into the mix.

Rance Talks Dave Chappelle’s Surprise Appearance At This Year’s 1500 Or Nothin’ Day

Those who attended this year’s 1500 Or Nothin’ Day at the 1500 Sound Academy in Inglewood, California were in for a treat. Not only was there an ample amount of musical talent taking the stage, but Dave Chappelle also made a surprise appearance. At one point, he even rapped Biggie lyrics and toasted the crowd.

The City of Inglewood recognized the Grammy Award-winning producer and songwriter collective 1500 or Nothin’ with their own designated day, celebrated every year on Martin Luther King Day (January 15).

This year’s event was the brainchild of Larrance “Rance” Dopson, who literally called upon his homies to pop out and show out. These weren’t paid gigs nor was he charging people to attend. It was simply a way to honor the greats while giving back to the community that has served them since the beginning. AllHipHop spoke with Rance to discuss the highlight from Dave Chappelle’s appearance.

AllHipHop: Every event you do has an incredible turnout. Why is giving back to the community important to you?

Rance: To me, it’s about empowering and changing people’s minds to a world they didn’t know existed. I founded 1500 Sound Academy, a music education institution, to give back to those passionate about pursuing careers in music and business.

Growing up in Inglewood, I didn’t have the necessary resources and mentorship when I started music, so throughout my career it became important to me to pave the way for more diverse, emerging talent to advance humanity for a better future.

Our events, workshops, and state-of-the-art music program provides creators worldwide first-hand experience and professional development taught by their favorite industry leaders.

AllHipHop: How epic was 1500 Or Nothin’ Day with Dave Chappelle? What was the best memory?

Rance: The best memory from 1500 Day was being on stage with my superhero friends Tasha Smith, Angela Bassett and my guy Dave Chappelle. We had a blast that night with thousands of people in attendance.

The event was put together in only a matter of four days, from the production to the artist lineup. My team had no time for pre-planning. It was great seeing all my friends and family show up. The City of Inglewood gave me my own designated day, which is celebrated every year on January 15.

AllHipHop: How did you get Dave on the mic for free? That’s legendary.

Rance: I have friends in mighty places. That’s the beauty of 1500 Day. You never know who our special guest will be or who’s in the audience. Every year it gets bigger and better. You just have to come and be a part of the moment.

Rance: What else are you excited for?

I recently worked with Justin Timberlake on his latest album, Everything I Thought I Was, and produced and wrote the song “Selfish.” I also played a huge role in the production of NLE Choppa’s album, Cottonwood 2: Deluxe 2.0, and so many other top projects from Alicia Keys, Gunna, John Legend, to Jay-Z and beyond. I also just launched 12 music schools across Asia, and I’m currently looking to expand 1500 Sound Academy in Africa.

Rick Ross Hints At Drake Using Ghostwriter For “Sicko Mode”

Rick Ross suggested someone else wrote Drake’s “Sicko Mode” verse in an Instagram Stories post. Rozay added to the Drake ghostwriting rumors while listening to Travis Scott’s song “Sicko Mode.”

“Guess who wrote this,” Ross said as Drake’s “Sicko Mode” verse played in the background. “You would never guess who wrote this.”

Scott’s “Sicko Mode” featured an extensive list of writing credits, largely due to the samples used for the track. CyHi the Prynce was one of the songwriters, but he never claimed he wrote for Drake. Ross insinuated someone missing from the credits was responsible for Drake’s verse.

Drake has been plagued by ghostwriting accusations for years. Ross mentioned the allegations on his Drake diss track “Champagne Moments.”

“Ghostwriters, they get to floss what you could’ve had/Record label taking a loss, are you in your bag?/You a worker wanting to chart, don’t make me laugh/Get to mine, tell by my watch, this a different time/Living fine, I’m getting high as your s### decline/Who believes he moving keys in his Louie Vs?/Run up on you and snatch your chain, watch you b###### bleed,” Ross rapped in the first verse.

Rozay continued to attack Drake over ghostwriting in the second verse.

“Like his moves, but he never had to fight in school/Always ran, another n#### had to write your grooves/Flow is copy-and-paste, Weezy gave you the juice/Another white boy at the park wanna hang with the crew/Pulitzer Prize winner switching up like dyed denim/Get incentives for all the killings while we ride rentals/Look me right in my face, he beginning to shake/Told you n#####, Stay Schemin’, I predicted my fate,” Ross rapped.

Ross released “Champagne Moments” in response to Drake’s diss track “Push Ups.” Drake fired shots at Ross for siding with Future and Metro Boomin, who started a battle with Drizzy with the release of their We Don’t Trust You album.

Lil Yachty Reference Track For Drake Leaks Amid OVO Star’s Beefs

Drake remained at the center of drama as a reference track for his song “Jumbotron S### Poppin” leaked online. The Canadian star’s collaborator Lil Yachty recorded the reference version of the song.

“Jumbotron S### Poppin” appeared on Drake and 21 Savage’s album Her Loss. Lil Yachty was a known contributor to the song, which listed his name in the credits.

The Lil Yachty reference track surfaced during Drake’s ongoing issues with multiple artists. An Atlanta number allegedly leaked the audio, resulting in wild speculation involving Metro Boomin. Fans believed Metro was the source of the leak since he’s beefing with Drake and worked on Her Loss, which dropped in 2022.

Lil Yachty’s impact on Drake’s music was no secret. Drake acknowledged Lil Yachty’s influence on 2023’s For All the Dogs album.

“I don’t think this album is what it is if I don’t get to run everything by you,” Drake told Lil Yachty on SiriusXM. “If I don’t get to sit in the studio and write with you, and think with you, and if you don’t send me beats, and if you don’t tell me what you believe in or don’t believe in.”

The reference track leak was another twist in Drake’s feuds with Metro, Future, Kendrick Lamar and Rick Ross, among others. The overarching battle began when Future and Metro dropped their We Don’t Trust You album. The project featured Kendrick dissing Drake on the song “Like That.” Future and Metro unleashed more jabs at Drake with their follow-up release We Still Don’t Trust You.

Drake responded with a diss track titled “Push Ups.” Ross, who sided with Future and Metro, entered the fray by firing shots at Drake on the song “Champagne Moments.” Drake and Ross clashed despite their history of creating hits together.

Keyshia Cole & Hunxho Address Dating Rumors

Rumors of Keyshia Cole dating Hunxho turned out to be true. The couple confirmed their romance via social media on Monday (April 15).

“@hunxho mine,” Cole wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Hunxho responded with a heart emoji.

Earlier this month, Cole and Hunxho sparked dating rumors when they were spotted holding hands at a club in Atlanta. Fans quickly started joking about a potential breakup providing Cole with new material for her music. She responded to a person who wanted Hunxho to break her heart on Monday.

“I hope he don’t,” she wrote. “God bless.”

Cole found relationship material in Hunxho after expressing frustration with her love life in a 2023 interview with PEOPLE. She considered going overseas to find a man.

“It’s rough out here,” she said. “You can’t get these people to tell you the truth about anything and I’m a truth seeker. A couple of people have told me my husband is in Dubai and I need to go overseas. I said, ‘Well bring him on!’ I just gotta get over there.”

Cole married former NBA player Daniel Gibson in 2011. Their marriage ended in 2017. Cole said Gibson was unfaithful, but she initially avoided divorce for their son.

“That was a lot of the reason why I didn’t get a divorce through all the cheating,” she said. “Because it was like, I just want to do it for my kid, you know what I’m saying? Like, ‘Can he have two parents in the same home?'”

The R&B singer rebounded by dating Niko Khale, the father of her second child. Cole gave birth to her youngest son in 2019. Cole and Khale broke up in 2020.

“My heart is broken,” Khale wrote on Instagram after the split. “My mind is open, my times approachin’.”

Hunxho, like Khale, is younger than Cole. Hunxho is 24 years old while Cole is 42.

Killer Mike Cosigns Organized Noize Legend Rico Wade Getting Public Statue In Atlanta

Rico Wade of the legendary Organized Noize production team passed away on April 12 at the age of 52. Killer Mike, a fellow member of the Dungeon Family collective, endorses his hometown immortalizing Wade with a sculpture.

“Atlanta should consider a public statue of Rico Wade,” The Atlanta Journal-Constitution‘s senior editor Mike Jordan tweeted. “Maybe specifically in East Point, maybe even the airport. It’s hard to overstate how much he impacted music/culture/ATL. Sure, we can + should do murals but Rico really was a changemaker for this city’s global identity.”

Killer Mike co-signed Mike Jordan’s proposal by quote-tweeting the journalist and adding, “Amen.” The four-time Grammy Award winner previously tweeted, “Love and respect being shown to Rico Wade is beyond beautiful to see. He put Atlanta on it’s own course.”

Organized Noize played a significant role in the success of the Atlanta-bred acts Outkast and Goodie Mob. The trio of Rico Wade, Sleepy Brown and Ray Murray also produced songs for ATL natives such as TLC, Ludacris, Xscape, and Future.

Killer Mike rose to prominence in the early 2000s as part of the Dungeon Family’s Second Generation supergroup known as Purple Ribbon All-Stars. The MC/entrepreneur born Mike Render rapped over Organized Noize-crafted production on songs like “Claremont Lounge” and “We The Ones.”

In addition to Organized Noize’s Rico Wade and Killer Mike, Dungeon Family affiliates include Big Boi and André 3000 of Outkast, Big Gipp, T-Mo, CeeLo Green and Khujo of Goodie Mob, Future, Janelle Monáe, and additional recording artists.

Chuck D Addresses History Of Battling In Hip-Hop, Refers To Dissing As “Evolution Tumor”

Beef has taken over Hip-Hop in 2024. Chuck D, one of the genre’s most prolific MCs, shared his views on the history of rap battles.

“Rap and Hip-Hop didn’t form from [diss] battle culture. It formed from party dance culture,” Chuck D tweeted on Sunday (April 14). “The battle culture was a mutation alongside moving the crowd.”

He also added, “[An] MC never wanted you to be a wallflower, they wanted movement or the DJ would shut you off. Harlem, Bronx, [and] Brooklyn wanted a better time because NYC was delivering [b#######].”

2024 has already seen feuds between Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj, Latto and Ice Spice, Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar and Drake, Rick Ross and Drake, and other rivalries.

One of the most famous beefs in Hip-Hop history became national news in the 1990s. The back-and-forth between 2Pac and The Notorious B.I.G. ended when both rap icons lost their lives in separate, possibly unrelated, violent incidents.

“The battle [diss] thing was a side evolution tumor. Started benign then ignorance made it malignant in the 90s. Revisionist history on culture too often is measured by scattered exceptions as opposed to the massive documented ‘rule,’” Chuck D stated.

Drake’s New Kendrick Lamar Diss Is Hard, But It’s Probably AI

Do they have allegedly in reverse? This is allegedly Drake dissing Kendrick Lamar, yet it’s highly likely that it’s actually Artificial Intelligence behind it. However, some individuals believe it might genuinely be Drake, which adds a layer of complexity to the situation. Take a listen and share your thoughts.

The bars in this piece are undeniably rough and disrespectful. It’s disappointing that it’s not Drake delivering them. Nonetheless, it would have ignited into a massive explosion if it was real. Currently, it feels more like a sparring match. Drake was compelled to respond, and in my view, he’s holding his ground for now. I am also glad he let Cole off the hook for not replying. Fans eagerly await Kendrick Lamar’s response with bated breath.

Here’s an AI-generated response to hold you over until the real one arrives.

In the meantime, Rick Ross is doing the most! He’s taunting Drake like crazy, as if they were never friends. He’s also going at people on the side like Birdman, who pledged allegiance to his former artists.

Kesha Changes “Tik Tok” Lyrics To Crucify Diddy At Coachella

Diddy’s ongoing legal troubles continue to make headlines and spark heated responses. Pop star Kesha dissed the Hip-Hop mogul during her surprise performance at the 2024 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on Sunday (April 14).

Reneé Rapp brought out Kesha during her Coachella set to perform the 2009 hit “Tik Tok” at the California event. The track’s original lyrics were changed to blast the Bad Boy Entertainment founder.

“Wake up in the morning feelin’ like P. Diddy,” Kesha originally sang on the Dr. Luke and Benny Blanco-produced track. However, the Animal album creator’s on-stage version began with, “Wake up in the morning like f### P. Diddy.”

This was not the first time Kesha altered her “Tik Tok” lyrics at a show. While performing in Los Angeles in 2023, she sang, “Wake up in the morning feeling just like me.”

Multiple individuals have accused Sean “Diddy” Combs of various forms of sexual misconduct, including rape. For example, his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, settled an Adult Survivors Act lawsuit against Combs in November 2023.

Additionally, Department of Homeland Security officials raided Diddy’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami reportedly in connection to a federal sex trafficking investigation.

Kesha Sebert sued Dr. Luke in 2014, accusing the producer of drugging and raping her. Luke (born Lukasz Gottwald) countersued for defamation. Both sides agreed to a settlement in June 2023.

NLE Choppa Explains Difference Between “Badussy” & “Bussy”

NLE Choppa generated a lot of online attention with his latest single. The polarizing chorus for “S### Me Out 2” had some listeners questioning Choppa’s sexuality while supporters of the track appreciated his confidence.

“If I was a bad b####, I’d wanna f### me too, I’d wanna suck me too, I’d wanna s### me too. If I was a bad b####, I’d wanna hump me too,” NLE Choppa says on “S### Me Out 2.”

In addition to the hook stirring up opposing views, another line in the song also raised some eyebrows. Choppa felt the need to go on the X social media platform to explain his “smell like badussy” bar.

“Badussy And Bussy [boy p####] Two Different Things,” Choppa posted. He also wrote, “Badussy is a Memphis term meaning something smelling like booty, d###, and p#### referring to the smell of intercourse between a man and woman.”

Bernie Mack popularized the portmanteau term “badussy” in 1997. The late stand-up comedian used the word in a scene from Def Jam’s How to Be a Player movie which also starred Bill Bellamy and Natalie Desselle.

NLE Choppa has constantly faced accusations of being homosexual or bisexual. In response, the 21-year-old rapper repeatedly insisted he is only sexually attracted to women.

“S### Me Out 2” arrived on Friday (April 12) as the sequel to 2022’s “S### Me Out” off the Cottonwood 2 album. Choppa recently started the “Thrust Challenge” to help promote the record.
