Quavo Seemingly Responds To Chris Brown On Surprise Song “Tender”

Quavo has seemingly returned fire at Chris on Brown on his new single “Tender” following Breezy’s apparent shot at the Migos rapper on his new song “Freak.”

Quavo dropped at midnight Friday (April 12), 24 hours after Brown surprised fans with the deluxe edition of his 11:11 album.  The songs hint at their long standing issues dating back to 2017 when Quavo reportedly dated Brown‘s ex, Karrueche Tran.

On “Tender” Quavo appears to address their respective history with Tran and Brown’s history of domestic violence.

“You did a b#### wrong and now the b#### gone, she posted with a thug,” Quavo raps on the chorus. “Call the b#### phone, she won’t come home, don’t beat her up / It must be the drugs / Need to cross out your plug.”

The lyrics seemed like a direct response to Brown’s subliminal shot on “Freak.”

“Okay, now f###### my old b###### ain’t gon’ make us equal/Sipping that 1942 ‘cause I don’t do no Cuervo [Quavo]/Freak b####, she like Casamigos, not the Migos,” Brown rapped. He also appears to call out Brown on the second verse. Listen to it below and check out Brown’s track at the end of the page.

Quavo & Chris Brown’s Tension Resurfaced in 2022

Chris Brown and Quavo allegedly came to blows over Tran at the 2017 BET Awards. Quavo and Tran dating rumors resurfaced in 2022 but she insisted there was no relationship.

“We’re friends,” she said in 2022. “I’m single. I’m having fun and enjoying life. Nothing is too serious… We have fun, we’re friends.”

However earlier this year, the tension bubbled back up when Brown and Quavo awkwardly sat next to each other at Paris Fashion Week

“Can’t pick who u sit by,” Brown wrote on social media after the show. “F### all that growth s###. N#### not finna fumble my bag for little n#####.”

The Real Reason J. Cole Abandoned His “Beef” With Kendrick Lamar

Hey guys, what’s going on! I know that the J. Cole situation is slowly exiting the consciousness of the people, but there is a contingency of folks who continue to talk about it. And when I say contingency, I mean me! I am still interested in it! What? I’m trying to figure out and understand is really what happened.

And so I got some insider information that may come as no surprise to big fans. But, essentially, I am hearing that J. Cole got out of Kendrick Lamar‘s way. As we have heard recently, it has been made apparent that Kendrick Lamar is about to unleash the fury on his opps. Drake will do the same, according to podcast chit-chat.

By the way, this was way before Joe Budden decided to open his mouth about the situation. But the camps between Kendrick Lamar, and Drake are closer than we might know. These guys go back quite far and their camps commingle, from what I’ve been told. we all know Cole was not the target, the true target, of Kendrick Lamar’s wrath. He was collateral damage, but he was not the true, intended target. It was Drake. So essentially J. Cole got out of the way. Why he apologized is anyone’s guest. But he felt obligated to do that And what’s done is done!

Pouya Explains How XXXTENTACION Guided Him Through Girlfriend’s Cancer Diagnosis

Pouya has shared how his late Florida rap peer XXXTENTACION continues to remain a source of inspiration for him amid trying times, even though he’s transitioned into the afterlife.

On Wednesday (April 10), Pouya shared a post on Instagram featuring an old clip of a virtual interview with the “Look At Me Now” rapper. In the video, XXXTENTACION very clearly explains that artists such as Pouya and Denzel Curry were some of the Florida rappers who inspired him. He also speculated on why they didn’t have as large of a following as he felt they should.

“Like besides Pouya, Robb Banks, Curry [Denzel], I can’t really think of nobody else,” XXXTENTACION said in the clip. “You know they had they wave, and they wave would’ve amounted to something big if they would’ve just stuck together.”

In the post he shared, Pouya revealed he hadn’t previously seen the interview and wasn’t even aware of XXXTENTACION’s comments until the clip began recirculating after his untimely demise.

“wow someone just sent me this, I never seen this before,” Pouya wrote in part. “Damn man, this made me happy and sad at the same time.”

As he continued, Pouya remarked on a period when XXXTENTACION helped him cope with his partner’s cancer treatment, revealing for the first time publicly how they bonded through the ordeal.

“I never really talk about this but when Coco was going through cancer X would FaceTime me all the time and give me advice on how to get through it, sucks that he’s gone,” he said. “idk this s### put a fire in me.”

Paramount Boss Says Kendrick Lamar & “South Park” Team’s Movie Will Create “Fireworks”

Paramount Pictures CEO Brian Robbins announced the release date for Kendrick Lamar’s movie with South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. Robbins revealed the film is heading to theaters in 2025 on Thursday (April 11).

“I’m excited to announce that we’re going into production this summer on a [comedy] from the creators of South Park, Matt Stone and Trey Parker,” Robbins said. “This script is one of the funniest and most original scripts we’ve ever read, and it’s certain to create some fireworks when it hits theaters on July 4th, 2025.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will not be a musical. Robbins didn’t disclose the title of the live-action comedy.

Longtime South Park contributor Vernon Chatman wrote the script for the film. Kendrick and his pgLang co-founder Dave Free serve as producers along with Stone and Parker.

“On behalf of Paramount Pictures and the wider ViacomCBS family, we look forward to ushering in the first theatrical collaboration from these creative visionaries, and galvanizing audiences worldwide around a powerful storytelling experience,” Robbins said in 2022.

Paramount unveiled the release date of Kendrick’s first feature film while he’s arguably the biggest topic of conversation in Hip-Hop. K. Dot set the rap world ablaze by dissing Drake and J. Cole on Future and Metro Boomin’s song “Like That” in March. J. Cole responded with a diss track titled “7 Minute Drill” in April. Cole quickly regretted releasing the song, apologizing for it at his annual Dreamville Festival.

“That’s the lamest s### I ever did in my f###### life,” J. Cole said regarding “7 Minute Drill.”

Kendrick didn’t publicly comment on Cole’s apology. Drake hasn’t dropped a musical response to Kendrick’s diss, but the Canadian star dismissively reacted to “Like That” at a concert and on social media.

Jeezy Accuses Jeannie Mai Of Withholding Their Child From Him Amid Divorce

Jeezy requested primary custody of his daughter in his divorce from Jeannie Mai on Wednesday (April 10). According to Page Six and TMZ, Jeezy claimed Mai refused to honor their current custody agreement by preventing him from parenting time for the past two months.

The 46-year-old rapper previously accused Mai of “gatekeeping” their child. She denied the allegations, insisting she was only concerned about their daughter’s safety.

“It is essential to clarify that [her] insistence on reasonable safety measures being put in place, such as safely securing and locking away all firearms that have been unsecured in the past, as well as having familiarity and properly trained caregivers is absolutely not gatekeeping, but rather a responsible effort to prioritize their daughter’s well-being,” Mai’s lawyers contended.

Jeezy pushed for primary custody of his child by citing Mai’s lifestyle. Jeezy argued that Mai’s brother and mother do most of the childcare due to Mai’s travel schedule. He believed his daughter should live with him because she needed more stability.

Last year, Jeezy filed for divorce. Mai claimed she learned the news “at the same time as the rest of the world.” Jeezy released a statement about their split in October 2023.

“The decision to end this chapter in my life was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart,” he said. “Despite this, my love and respect for Jeannie remains and the time we spent together holds a cherished place in my heart.”

Jeezy and Mai attended couples therapy, but they were unable to save their marriage. He discussed his divorce in a November 2023 conversation with Nia Long.

“I can tell you that I’m disappointed,” he said. “I can tell you that I’m uneasy. But God has put me on a different path, and that path is going to entail for me to take care of myself and to love myself and to be in the best situation that I can thrive as someone who’s been through all of the things that I’ve been through.”

Jeezy married Mai in 2021. The former couple’s daughter was born in 2022.

Famous Sally & YB Say Seeing Drake Support Viral Single “Wassup GWay” Was “Spectacular”

Move over City Girls, here comes famous Sally & YB. Hailing from Atlanta, the promising musical duo is composed of two members—Famous Sally and YB—who exploded onto the scene with their breakout single, “Wassup Gway.” The virality of the record was something both ladies didn’t anticipate. The track currently boasts more than 4.5 billion views on TikTok, 606 million likes, 14 million shares and at least 2.5 million creations. It also peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s newly launched TikTok chart.

Famous Sally & YB are best friends in real life, and they’re both young moms who are about to embark on a journey of a lifetime. Their mixtape, The Truth, arrived via Epic Records in February. AllHipHop spoke with Famous Sally & YB virtually to discuss their background, going viral, signing to Epic, new music, opening for Lil Durk, their goals and more.

AllHiphop: For those who don’t know, who are Famous Sally & YB?

YB: I’m cool, laidback. I just be chillin’. I’m calm. Sally’s the lit one. I’m the shy one.

AllHiphop: Do you guys balance each other out then?

YB: Mmhmm. I might go in there a little shy. But when she lit, I get lit.

AllHiphop: How does it feel to be getting all this attention?

YB: To be honest, I love it. But then again, it happened so fast. It be unexpected. But overall, I love it. I love the turnaround too.

Famous Sally: I’ve always been popular in Atlanta, so I’m used to getting attention, but to be getting attention from people in the industry is nice.

AllHiphop: How’d it feel for “Wassup Gway” to go viral?

YB: When we first dropped “Wassup Gway,” we were playing around and experimenting. We didn’t think so many labels would hit us. We were just having fun. It was unexpected for the song to become so big. I thought it’d be something for us, for our friends.

AllHiphop: How did it blow up? Was it first on Tik Tok?

YB: Instagram doesn’t really make things big like TikTok does. But to be honest, a lot of people found out about it on Instagram first before TikTok. But when they used it on TikTok, things got crazy. They came up with their own dance. Everybody was doing this dance. TikTok took us all the way through. We kept coming #1 song on TikTok, everyday, for three weeks straight.

AllHiphop: Did you guys start it on TikTok, or someone else?

YB: Mm-mm, someone else did. It was this little girl, she goes to school with my sister. My sister had sent her the song, and she put the song on TikTok. She made her own little video, everybody else started doing the video. She went viral when she made her video. Everybody else started making the video too.

AllHiphop: Out of all the celebrities that cosigned the record, who were you most excited for?

YB: I was most excited for Drake, ‘cause Drake is big. But the first famous person to do it was Jayda [Cheaves]. I love when Jayda did it because she posted the song on her Youtube channel. She’s like “this my morning bath, wassup gway?” I loved it. I loved the Jayda video the most because it was genuine. It’s something she listened to, she said she got the song from TikTok and she loved it. Most celebrities did it because it was a viral TikTok., but Jayda did it because she said she loved the song.

Famous Sally: We were excited for Drake because he doesn’t do TikToks, so to participate in ours was spectacular.

AllHiphop: How did Drake cosign it?

YB: He did a show and after the show, he did it with a little girl.

AllHiphop: How did your life change after “Wassup Gway”?

Famous Sally: Financially, I was able to bless my family and upgrade my lifestyle for the betterment of my kids and I.

AllHiphop: How many labels were hitting you guys?

YB: A lot. We were going to a different meeting every day!

AllHiphop: What made you go with Epic Records?

YB: Other labels just wanted “Wassup Gway,” but we did “Gway” without no help. It’s a career for us, and other labels weren’t looking at it like. When we met with our a&r, he didn’t ask us if we could make another “Wassup Gway,” he asked to hear more of what we already had.

Famous Sally: And Epic made us feel comfortable, like family. So, we chose to sign with them.

AllHiphop: What inspired “What Your Name Is”? The video looked super fun!

Famous Sally: Our first song went viral and was bigger than our face and name, so our next single was like “What Yo Name Is.” We need everyone to know our name and not just the title of our first single.

YB: We had a lot of fun making that song. With that record, we were working with Trinidad. He said “I got these hooks I want y’all to listen to.” We love that hook because it gave us that vibe. “What yo name is? Who are you?”

AllHiphop: Best memory from the video shoot?

YB: I liked the whole video to be honest. The hallway scene, the classroom scene, I loved it all.

AllHiphop: What can fans expect from your mixtape, The Truth, out now?

Famous Sally: Our mixtape is versatile and shapes who we are trying to become as rappers.

YB: We called it The Truth because we tell the story about both of our lives. How we used to live before rap, how we are now. We’ve got “Gway” on it. We’ve got our new single “Scrilla,” which we put the video out with the mixtape. It’s one of my favorites.

AllHiphop: Why?

YB: It just hypes me up. It gives me a vibe.

AllHiphop: Do you guys see yourselves as the new City Girls?

Famous Sally: No, we’re Famous Sally and YB!

YB: I don’t like to compare, but I love the City Girls. To be honest, I haven’t seen a girl duo from Atlanta in a long time. I want us to be big for our city, like how the City Girls made a name for their city of Miami.

AllHiphop: I feel like Atlanta has all the biggest artists.

YB: They do!

AllHiphop: What were you guys doing before the music?

Famous Sally: We were doing whatever we had to do to make a living.

AllHiphop: How does it feel to be moms on top of all this?

Famous Sally: It’s fun for our kids to see us in superstar mode, but it’s hard sometimes being away from them.

AllHiphop: How was it opening for Lil Durk?

Famous Sally: It was cool opening up for Lil Durk!

YB: I loved it! The cameras, the flashes, it made us feel so big. When we ran out, everybody had their flash on. I felt like I was as big as Durk, forreal.

Famous Sally: The crowd was lit and knew our song word for word!

AllHiphop: Were you nervous at all?

Famous Sally: I’m always nervous, but it goes away once I hit the stage.

YB: I was nervous, too! Every time we walk out, we test the crowd. We say “Wassup Gway!” They’ll say “these hoes can’t f### with me.” Then we say it again: “Wassup Gway!” We had already got them amped before we walked on the stage. When we walk on stage, everybody screaming.

AllHiphop: Any goals for yourself at this point in your career?

YB: Yes, I have a lot of goals. I want to keep going. I want to keep pushing myself, I want to be real big.

Famous Sally: I want us to be the biggest and reach our highest potential as female rappers.

AllHiphop: Anything else you want to let us know?

YB: We’re still in the studio, making more music. We want to work with a lot of different people. I want to open more for other artists on tour.

Drake Gets His Wish As Judge Lets Him Off The Hook For Astroworld Tragedy

Drake convinced a Texas judge to dismiss him from ongoing litigation over the Astroworld tragedy. According to multiple reports, Judge Kristen Hawkins granted Drake’s request to be removed from the civil case on Wednesday (April 10).

The Canadian superstar, whose real name is Aubrey Graham, was named as a defendant in lawsuits filed by Astroworld victims. Drake appeared at Travis Scott’s 2021 festival, which left 10 people dead and hundreds injured.

Drake’s attorneys filed a motion seeking his dismissal from the Astroworld case in March. His legal team argued he had nothing to do with the event’s planning and shouldn’t be held responsible for simply appearing at the festival.

“Mr. Graham did not receive any security briefings, was not informed of any crowd control issues, injuries or deaths in the crowd, or any stop show orders at any time either before or during his 14-minute performance,” his lawyers noted.

They added, “Plaintiffs produce no evidence that Mr. Graham actually knew of any risk in the festival site design and layout, competence or adequacy of festival staffing and personnel, or emergency procedures such as show stop authority.”

Judge Hawkins dismissed Drake, Epic Records and several defendants ahead of the trial, which is scheduled to begin in May. The judge didn’t disclose the reasons for dismissal. Scott and Apple Music, among others, remained defendants in the Astroworld case.

Scott’s attorneys will reportedly argue for his dismissal in court on Monday (April 15). His lawyers claimed he wasn’t responsible for the crowd’s safety.

“No one disputes that tragedy struck the Astroworld Festival,” Scott’s attorneys wrote in a court filing. “But promoting and performing at a concert do not equate to the power to control a crowd or to design a venue safely. Basic tort principles prevent imposing liability on the Scott Defendants for a tragedy arising from forces legally controlled by others.”

A grand jury declined to press criminal charges against Scott in 2023.

Kodak Black Singles Out Lil Baby Over Nail Polish & Illuminati Claims—NBA YoungBoy Responds

Kodak Black appears to have insulted both Lil Baby and NBA YoungBoy following recent comparisons he’s received, which contrast his personality with Diddy.

On Wednesday (April 10), a video of Black venting about his rap counterparts began circulating online and appears to have elicited a direct response from YoungBoy himself. In short, Black alluded to both Baby and YoungBoy being apart of the Illuminati, in addition to condemning their gravitation toward traditionally feminine practices such as painting their nails with fingernail polish.

“We ain’t with none of that Illuminati s##t and we ain’t on none of that Lil Baby, NBA YoungBoy, all that lil gay a## s##t going on,” Black said in part. “We ain’t doing none of that paint your nails s##t. We ain’t on none of that f##k s##t. Don’t never play with a n###a on no gay s##t, no snitch s##t, no f##k s##t, no soft s##t, we ain’t on none of that s##t, stop playing with me. For real b###h it’s cold out here.”

NBA YoungBoy swiftly responded in a bizarre video of his own. In the clip, which is even shorter than the initial rant, NBA YoungBoy appears to carelessly troll Black’s comments, though he doesn’t call him out by name in doing so.

“I need em’ re-done right now b###h, I love you too,” NBA YoungBoy said in part before adding, “I ain’t do you nothing, bruh. I’m finna go cry.”

Considering Kodak Black and NBA YoungBoy reportedly squashed their years-long beef last January, the latest back-and-forth between both artists is somewhat unexpected. Baby also recently debunked rumors he was wearing fingernail polish in a video featuring a snippet of new music. Additionally, Black’s statements regarding Baby and YoungBoy follow his shocking reaction during a livestream with Adin Ross in which a viewer commented on the “Super Gremlin” rapper’s appearance in a comment: “Kodak look like Florida Diddy lmao.”

“B#### you got me f##### up. No Diddy. Take that Take it.”

Kodak Black then said he would never “rape” anybody, as Diddy is accused of but ended up confessing he would commit other crimes.

“I’ll smack me a elderly b####, I even might kill me a kid but I aint raping,” he declared. “I mean kill him as a baby, but I ain’t raping. I ain’t doing that.”

Check out both Kodak Black and NBA YoungBoy’s semi-perplexing clips above and watch the “Florida Diddy” reaction video below.

Polo G Arrested After Maid Finds Gun In Hotel

Police arrested Polo G in New York on Wednesday (April 10). According to the New York Daily News, the 25-year-old rapper was taken into custody after a maid found a gun in his hotel room.

Polo G, whose real name is Taurus Bartlett, stayed at the Dominick Hotel in Manhattan. The hotel contacted the cops when a maid discovered a pistol while cleaning his room. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and possession of a loaded firearm, per PIX 11 News.

The Columbia Records artist faced gun charges in New York less than a year after cops raided his California home in connection to a robbery, which allegedly involved his brother. Los Angeles police arrested him for possession of a short-barreled rifle. His lawyer Bradford Cohen claimed the rapper was illegally detained.

“Polo is being held under the guise that the police department needs to double check that he is not a convicted felon as there was a purported firearm found in the home,” Cohen said. “He is not and never was a convicted felon.”

Cohen added, “Any previous charges he had I got dismissed and it’s all public record. They are also denying myself and my California law partner Zoey Aron access to him while he is being illegally detained.”

The Los Angeles Police Department released Polo G and his brother, but both men were quickly taken into custody by the Burbank Police Department. The siblings were charged with kidnapping, robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. They were released on $100,000 bail.

Earlier this year, Polo G released a new single titled “Sorrys & Ferraris.” The track is expected to appear on Hood Poet, the follow-up to his 2021 album Hall of Fame. Hood Poet was originally scheduled to drop in September 2023. It was pushed back to August 2024.

Chris Brown Disses Quavo On Track Featuring Lil Wayne, Joyner Lucas & Tee Grizzley

Chris Brown threw a lyrical jab at Quavo on a new song titled “Freak,” which dropped on Thursday (April 11). The track appeared on the deluxe edition of Brown’s 11:11 album.

“Okay, now f###### my old b###### ain’t gon’ make us equal/Sipping that 1942 ‘cause I don’t do no Cuervo [Quavo]/Freak b####, she like Casamigos, not the Migos,” Brown rapped.

Brown enlisted Lil Wayne, Joyner Lucas and Tee Grizzley as guests on the track. The song added a new layer to the longstanding issues between Brown and Quavo stemming from their respective history with Karrueche Tran.

Earlier this year, Brown and Quavo awkwardly sat next to each other at Paris Fashion Week. Brown made it clear he didn’t sit by Quavo willingly.

“Can’t pick who u sit by,” he wrote on social media. “F### all that growth s###. N#### not finna fumble my bag for little n#####.”

Brown and Karrueche began dating in 2011. Their tumultuous on-again, off-again relationship lasted a few years. Karrueche obtained a five-year restraining order against Brown in 2017. She accused him of abuse and harassment, saying he threatened to kill her. The alleged incidents occurred while he was on probation for assaulting his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

Quavo was romantically linked to Karrueche in 2017. Their relationship allegedly led to a heated confrontation involving Brown and Quavo at the 2017 BET Awards. Quavo and Karrueche dating rumors resurfaced in 2022. She downplayed their relationship.

“We’re friends,” she said in 2022. “I’m single. I’m having fun and enjoying life. Nothing is too serious… We have fun, we’re friends.”

Brown released his 11:11 album in November 2023. The original version featured 22 songs. He added 13 tracks to the project for the deluxe edition. The new songs included collaborations with Bryson Tiller and Mario.

Megan Thee Stallion Says “Rebirth” Inspired Upcoming Album

Megan Thee Stallion looks to add another body of work to her discography. The Grammy Award winner recently spoke about the inspiration for her upcoming third studio LP.

“I was inspired to create this album about rebirth because I feel I am becoming a new person physically and mentally,” Megan Thee Stallion stated in an interview with Women’s Health.

In 2020, Megan was involved in a violent incident that ended with the Houston native being shot in the feet. A California jury convicted Daystar “Tory Lanez” Peterson on three felony charges connected to the shooting.

Megan Thee Stallion’s 2022 album, Traumazine, focused on the rap star’s drive to overcome personal hardships. For her next project, she attempted to find the balance between being vulnerable and savage.

“I’m getting into a better space with making music that is still true to myself but also true to my message,” Megan stated. “I am very much a flower, but my flower has thorns.”

Megan Thee Stallion dropped two singles over the last six months. “Cobra” arrived in November 2023. “Hiss” premiered in January 2024 and topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

In addition, Meg linked up with GloRilla for “Wanna Be” off Glo’s recently released Ehhthang Ehhthang mixtape. The Hot Girl Coach also teamed up with Cardi B for 2023’s “Bongos” collaboration.

O.J. Simpson Dead At 76

O.J. Simpson passed away at 76 after a long fight with prostate cancer, according to multiple sources. His life, marred by notorious legal troubles, ended in Las Vegas on April 10. In his final moments, Simpson was accompanied by his children and grandchildren, marking a quiet end to a life that once captivated the nation’s attention for both laudable and infamous reasons.

“On April 10, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer,” Simpson’s family wrote in a statement posted on Twitter (X). “He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”

It was reported in February that the former sports star had been diagnosed with prostate cancer and was undergoing treatment. Despite a successful NFL career, Simpson was best known for going on trial for the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman in 1995. He was acquitted of the charges. Simpson was later sentenced to 33 years in prison after being found guilty of armed robbery and kidnapping in 2008. He served nine years in a Nevada prison and was granted parole in 2017.

Before his death, Simpson experienced an unexpected resurgence in popularity, thanks in part to his involvement with Hip-Hop culture through Cam’ron and Mase’s sports show,  “It Is What It Is.”

Simpson appeared several times on the show and despite the inescapable shadow of his past, he found a welcoming audience. Listeners tuned in, drawn by curiosity, Cam’ron’s audacious commentary and hot takes on sports.

Cam’ron even defended his choice, citing a belief in Simpson’s innocence regarding the 1994 murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. Simpson’s death closes a chapter on an individual whose life story is inextricably linked with the American legal system, media and in his later years, an unexpected association with Hip-Hop culture.

Vince Staples Calls Out Spotify For Fueling Hip-Hop Beef

2024 has been consumed with Hip-Hop beef. Vince Staples points the finger at Spotify, one of the biggest music streaming companies in the world, as an instigator of the toxicity in the culture.

“We have every songwriter that we’ve ever had in Hip-Hop music complaining about their publishing splits, but we kinda don’t pay attention to that,” Vince Staples stated during a phone call on The Joe Budden Podcast.

The California native also said, “But once n##### get mad, the whole internet is activated and we got billboards from streamers talking about, ‘Hip-Hop is a sport.’ But we ain’t never seen a billboard from a streamer that said, ‘Give that n#### his publishing back.'”

Spotify began putting up “Hip-Hop is a competitive sport” billboards across the country in March. Those large advertisements coincided with the release of Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You collaborative album.

We Don’t Trust You hosts the “Like That” single featuring Kendrick Lamar. That song included Lamar throwing blatant shots at fellow chart-topping Hip-Hop acts Drake and J. Cole.

Vince Staples also called out The Joe Budden Podcast hosts. He accused them of getting excited over rap beef but not expressing anger over artists losing their publishing, going to jail or dying. The 30-year-old MC then shared his thoughts on rappers battling each other.

“Why are we at war with the n#### that’s making a song and not the m########### who owns the whole thing? We don’t say their name at all. We quiet when they do some f### s###,” The Vince Staples Show creator stated.

Staples added, “We don’t have rap labels no more. But nobody says nothing about that. Nobody wanna talk about these labels folding in the other and then fire 50% of the people. Firing Hip-Hop radio people at these labels that’s been working there for 20, 30 years. That’s not war though, right?

J. Lo Didn’t Sing “Jenny From The Block” Or Other Hits According To Background Singer

Jennifer Lopez is once again receiving negative backlash on social media. One of her former background singers claims her vocals are actually the lead on the hit song “Jenny From The Block”—not J. Lo’s.

Over the course of the past few weeks, a TikTok user under the screename @im.natasha.ramos began sharing videos detailing her experience working with Lopez on her 2002 album, This Is Me… Then.

More specifically, Ramos’ videos focused on her claims that her vocals are the ones present on the album’s#### song, “Jenny From The Block.” It’s worth noting that Ramos has remained steadfast with her claims, going as far back to 2019 when she tweeted about the incident and revealed that Lopez didn’t even record background vocals for the track.

However, in her most recent videos, Ramos has taken her claims a step further. She said not only has she been absent from the track’s credits, but that she was also scammed.

“I think the problem with ‘Jenny From the Block’ is that they kept my laugh, and they kept ad-libs and they turned her vocals like all the way down, and the ‘from the Bronx’ part is me,” Ramos remarked in the lengthy video.

Ramos also claimed that she “wasn’t in the room” to take part in the negotiations for Lopez’s This Is Me… Then album, in addition to claiming Cory Rooney, the producer who worked on the album, attempted to extort her for a non-consensual tongue kiss.

“I say no. He’s like, ‘If you don’t give me a kiss, I’m gonna take you off all these records,'” she recalled.

Ramos added that while she was contacted about Lopez’s recent Prime Video documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, she was allegedly stonewalled about the development of the film following an “awkward” Zoom call with Rooney and organizers of the production.

“And all these years [later], I can’t help but feel like that was a big piece in why I was screwed over so badly,” she said.

Eminem Wants “Stans” For New Documentary

Eminem can take credit for popularizing the word “stan” meaning an overly-obsessed fan. His 2000 song “Stan” laid out the description of what it means to have an unhealthy parasocial relationship with a celebrity.

It appears Em will do a deep dive into stan culture. On Wednesday (April 10), he announced an upcoming documentary centered around his most avid supporters.

“Looking for Stans for a documentary produced by Eminem & Shady Films,” the Detroit-bred MC tweeted. That X post also included a link to a questionnaire for anyone wanting to share their story as a Slim Shady fanatic.

The questionnaire includes inquiries such as “When/how did you first hear Eminem?” “Would you consider yourself a ‘Stan’? Why/why not?” and “If you could tell Eminem anything, what would it be?”

Interested candidates also have to share their favorite songs by the 51-year-old MC. In addition, applicants must upload a one-minute video explaining why they are Em’s biggest fan.

Shady Films previously produced movies such as 2005’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’. Additionally, Eminem starred as the semi-autobiographical lead character in the 2002 film 8 Mile.

Eminem’s “Stan” track lives on the 2000 album The Marshall Mathers LP. The 45 King-produced record samples “Thank You” by English singer-songwriter Dido who appears in the “Stan” music video.

Baby Tate Addresses Accusations She Stole Nicki Minaj’s Style In “On The Radar” Freestyle

Baby Tate had to square up against Nicki Minaj’s fan base in February. The Barbz accused Tate of stealing their favorite MC’s aesthetics and animated delivery during her “From The Block” performance.

A new performance video featuring Baby Tate landed on YouTube on Wednesday (April 10). The Atlanta-bred rapper/singer’s “On The Radar” freestyle contained some bars that mention Nicki Minaj and other female artists.

“Hold on, b####, I’m blown. I just got up on the internet, they said I’m a clone. Now I was born in 1996, so of course it’s some s### I done picked up on,” Baby Tate rapped.

She added, “They say I blink like Nicki, dress like Kimmy, get real freaky on a track like Missy, cocky like RiRi, rough like E-V-E. I don’t understand why n##### won’t let me be me.”

In addition to namedropping Nicki Minaj, Lil Kim, Missy Elliott, Rihanna, and Eve, Baby Tate shouted out Lauryn Hill, Left Eye and more. The Girls album creator also said, “Me biting? B####, stop it. I’m sick of this s###. I need antibiotics.”

At one point, Tate questioned why she is not compared to Caucasian acts like Madonna and Lady Gaga or male acts like Kendrick Lamar and Kanye West. The “Hey, Mickey!” rapstress acknowledged her many inspirations, including Nicki Minaj.

Baby Tate dropped her Sexploration: The Musical EP in October 2023 via Warner Records. Plus, she appeared on the platinum-certified, 21-savage assisted “Surround Sound” by fellow Atlanta representative J.I.D.

Boosie Badazz’s Giant Jesus Piece Upsets Woman At Hawks Game

Boosie Badazz showed off his new rose gold diamond encrusted Jesus piece at a recent Atlanta Hawks game but not everybody was a fan of the gigantic piece.

The “Wipe Me Down” hitmaker, who’s given himself the moniker “Mr. Courtside” for his recent antics at the games, took to Instagram Wednesday (April 10), to recount a run-in with a fan.

“Lady at the game asked me why did I do that to Jesus. I told her, ‘I’m showing everybody to give him the glory,’” he said, flexing the bedazzled pendant, part of a recent $2 million jewelry haul, in the camera.

When the woman remarked “I don’t think Jesus is gonna like that,” Boosie disagreed before promising to return with another religion-themed piece. “I differ,” he stated. “I’m a wear my bible piece next time, see what she gon’ say.”

He continued, saying “I shouldn’t have said what I said,” before adding, “I apologized to you and to LSU.”
